Abstract
OBJECTIVES Autologous dentin grafts derived from extracted teeth have shown promise as bone graft materials for promoting bone regeneration. This retrospective case series aimed to evaluate clinical, radiographic, and histologic outcomes of using autologous dentin matrices in various bone regeneration procedures. MATERIALS AND METHODS This case series included 26 eligible patients and encompassed 4 socket preservation cases, 5 cases of guided tissue regeneration, 5 cases of guided bone regeneration (GBR), 10 cases of sinus augmentation procedures, 2 immediate placement implants, and 2 socket shields. Dentin grafts were prepared from extracted teeth, cleaned, and processed. These grafts were combined with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to create adhesive dentin matrices, then covered with collagen membranes for simultaneous guided bone augmentation cases. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were conducted before surgery and 4 months postoperatively to assess ridge dimensions. Histologic evaluation was performed through bone core biopsies for socket preservation cases at the 4-month mark. RESULTS A total of 42 implants were placed in 26 patients, with an average follow-up of 32 months. Notably, two implant failures occurred following lateral maxillary sinus augmentation. CBCT scans at the 4-month interval revealed bone coverage over implant platforms in the majority of cases. Histologic analysis from two cases of socket preservation demonstrated dentin granules enveloped by newly formed bone undergoing continuous remodeling. The quantitative histomorphometric assessment revealed a bone area of 42.8 ± 3.56%, a remaining graft area of 19.05 ± 4.58%, and a viable bone of 38.15 ± 7.84%. CONCLUSIONS The utilization of autologous dentin particles mixed with PRF proved effective as an alternative to conventional bone graft materials in GBR and maxillary sinus augmentation procedures. Larger controlled clinical trials are recommended to further substantiate these findings.

Abstract
AIM The aim of the present study was to investigate the histological differences between samples processed by different devices and to confirm safe clinical application of different dentin matrix obtained from three devices: BonMaker, Tooth Transformer, and Smart Dentin Grinder in regeneration of maxillary defects. RESEARCH DESIGN The study involved 39 patients with two-wall or three-wall defects who underwent bone augmentation procedures in the maxilla using dentin matrix grafts from the BonMaker, Tooth Transformer, and Smart Dentin Grinder devices. Histological examination was conducted on samples obtained from patients who received each device. In this article, histological samples have been selected and are presented. RESULTS In all patients, bone defects were successfully augmented with ground dentin matrix. The histological examination revealed no inflammation and a good connection between the bone and dentin matrix and clinically all patients were qualified for implant placement. CONCLUSIONS After comparing the BonMaker, Tooth Transformer, and Smart Dentin Grinder devices in our practice, we concluded that all these systems have the potential for obtaining regenerative material from the patient's teeth.

Abstract
This preliminary study aims to evaluate the efficacy of an autologous dentin graft in preventing periodontal defects after impacted or semi-impacted lower third molars' (M3) surgical extraction. For this purpose, radiographic and periodontal evaluation of post-extractive sockets were performed. Ten patients were enrolled in the study: twenty M3 extraction sockets were treated with a split-mouth modality. After tooth extraction, the experimental sites were filled with autologous dentin graft obtained by the extracted M3, while the control sites were filled with blood clot alone. Flaps were closed by first intention to ensure the stability of the wounds. Post-extractive sites were monitored at days 15, 90 and 180. The healing was not affected by any complications associated with the use of the autologous dentine graft in all cases. The measurements recorded at six months showed a reduction of the probing pocket depth distal to the second lower molar (M2) at both surgical sites, with a greater reduction observed at the experimental sites. Radiographic evaluation also showed a greater amount of bone gain at the grafted sites compared to the control sites. The results of this preliminary study suggest that autologous dentin grafts can be useful in preventing the formation of periodontal defects distal to M2 after M3 surgical extraction.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Dentin grafts have osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties and are considered as an alternative to autogenous graft. This study evaluates the efficacy of autogenous mineralized dentin graft (AMDG) alone or with xenograft and compares it with those of various graft materials used in the treatment of intraosseous bone defects. Materials and Methods: The third incisor teeth of six sheep (2–3 years old) were extracted and AMDG was obtained. Six defects were prepared on each tibia of these six sheep: empty defect (group E); autogenous graft (group A), dentin graft (group D), xenograft (group X), autogenous + xenograft (group A + X) and dentin + xenograft (group D + X). Three sheep in each group were sacrificed in the post-operative 3rd and 6th week and the histologic analyses were performed. Results: The D and D + X groups showed histological features similar to the other groups in the 3rd and 6th weeks. No statistically significant difference was found regarding the rates of new bone formation between the D and D + X groups (p = 1.0) and the other groups at both time intervals (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Similar results observed in this study between groups A, D, X, A + X and D + X demonstrate that AMDG can be successfully used in the treatment of intraosseous bone defects. Further experimental and clinical studies are needed to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of dentin grafts in different types of indications.

Abstract
There have been recent reports of successful use of fragmented autogenous dentin being used as a graft material in implant dentistry. This may reduce morbidity and the need for a second donor ste or for the use of alloplasts or allografts. This article discusses the background, preparation and use of autogenous dentin as an oral osseous graft material. A series of cases where autogenous dentin is used to graft immediate dental implant sites is presented. After 21 months one case biopsy showed only bone and no remnant dentin. Pulverized autogenous dentin may be an appropriate graft material in implant dentistry.

Abstract
Alveolar ridge resorption is a natural consequence of teeth extraction, with unpleasant aesthetic and functional consequences that might compromise a future oral rehabilitation. To minimize the biological consequences of alveolar ridge resorption, several surgical procedures have been designed, the so-called alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) techniques. One important characteristic is the concomitant use of biomaterial in ARP. In the past decade, autogenous teeth as a bone graft material in post-extraction sockets have been proposed with very interesting outcomes, yet with different protocols of preparation. Here we summarize the available evidence on autogenous teeth as a biomaterial in ARP, its different protocols and future directions.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Tooth roots proved in different studies clinically and radiographically to be an alternative to autogenous bone. However, the histological evaluation of the tooth block following ridge augmentation is still missing. The aim of this case report was to evaluate histologically and radiographically the effect of autogenous dentin block (DB) to restore a horizontal ridge deficiency at a single tooth gap. CASE PRESENTATION A healthy 36-years old female patient presented with a missing lower first molar (30), after clinical and radiographic examination, the site showed a class III defect horizontal atrophy. The procedure performed was the surgical removal of the wisdom tooth (32), shaping and fixation of a separated DB at the defect site using an osteosynthesis screw. A cone beam computed tomography was performed immediately and 6 month following the surgery. During implant placement, a core biopsy specimen was retrieved, stored and prepared for histological evaluation. The radiographic analysis showed a horizontal width gain of about 4 mm. The histologic assessment revealed cortical bone formation at the buccal and lingual aspects between the tooth and the bone. During implant placement, the core biopsy exhibited a slight separation upon removal from the grafted side, at 6 month following implant placement, the implant was successfully osteointegrated. CONCLUSION DB was successfully used for horizontal alveolar ridge augmentation, thus allowing a prosthetically driven implant placement. More cases assessing implant survival and success are needed to confirm the results of this case report.

Abstract
Surgical extraction of the third molar can often result in the development of a periodontal pocket distal to the second molar that could delay the healing, and the socket could be colonized by bacteria and lead to secondary abscesses, or it may cause mobility or hypersensitivity. The aim of this case report is to assess the efficacy of a dentin autograft in the prevention of periodontal dehiscences after the surgical extraction of the third molar, obtained by the immediate grinding of the extracted tooth. A healthy 18-year-old male patient underwent surgery of both impacted mandibular molars: right postextractive socket was filled with grinded dentin; then, the left one was filled with fibrin sponge. The patient was followed up for six months, and clinical and radiographic assessment were performed: measurements of plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP), gingival index (GI), clinical attachment level (CAL), and probing pocket depth (PPD) were done before surgery and repeated at 90 and 180 days after the extractions. Measurements made at six months after the surgery revealed that the grafted site was characterized by a minor depth of the pocket if compared with the nongrafted site, with no clinical/radiographic signs of complications.

Abstract
Decompression and curettage can result are effective as treatments for large jaw cysts, which are common diseases in the clinic. Based on a treatment used in a previous study, this paper proposes a "three-step method" to treat large jaw cyst and repair the bone defect by decompression, curettage, and autologous dental bone powder implantation. This paper introduces the processes and key points of the operation involved in the abovementioned method.

Abstract
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the behavior of different membranes and bone filling materials used to fill critical defects in rabbit calvaria. Four defects were prepared in the cranial calvaria of female rabbits. They were randomly divided into three subgroups according to the type of barrier membrane to be used. Four animals carried cross-linked bovine collagen membranes (Mem-Lok, Bio-Horizons, Birmingham, AL, USA)), four human fascia lata membranes (Tissue, Inbiomed SA, Córdoba, Argentina) and four human chorioamniotic membranes (Tissue. Inbiomed SA, Córdoba, Argentina). The defects were filled with the deproteinized bovine bone particulate Bio-Oss® (Geistlich-Pharma AG, Wolhusen, Switzerland), with particulate human hydroxyapatite MinerOss® (Bio-Horizons, Birmingham, AL, USA), with particulate dental material (Tissue Bank Foundation, Inbiomed S.A., Córdoba, Argentina), and the last one was left without the addition of filler material. In the first group of four specimens, a resorbable cross-linked bovine collagen membrane was placed over the skull and defects, without additional fixing. In the second group, a human fascia lata membrane was placed, without additional fixing. In the third group, a human chorioamniotic membrane was placed, without additional fixing. The animals were sacrificed at 4 and 8 weeks. The highest percentages of relative radiological density (average) were recorded considering the amnio-chorionic membranes (83.63%) followed by collagen (81.44%) and finally the fascia lata membranes (80.63%), but the differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The sites grafted with a decellularized tooth (96.83%) and Bio-Oss (88.42%), recorded the highest percentages of radiological density but did not differ significantly from each other (subset 2). The three membranes used did not show statistical differences between them, in any of the two time periods used. There were statistical differences between the filling materials evidencing the presence of a large quantity of calcified material in the defects treated with particulate tooth and deproteinized bovine bone and while smaller amounts of calcified material were registered in the case of defects treated with human hydroxyapatite and those that were not treated.
