Abstract
Biomimetic dental implants are regarded as one of the recent clinical advancements in implant surface modification. Coatings with varying thicknesses and roughness may affect the dental implant surface's chemical inertness, cell adhesion, and antibacterial characteristics. Different surface coatings and mechanical surface changes have been studied to improve osseointegration and decrease peri-implantitis. The surface medication increases surface energy, leading to enhanced cell proliferation and growth factors, and, consequently, to a rise in the osseointegration process. This review provides a comprehensive update on the numerous biomimetic coatings used to improve the surface characteristics of dental implants and their applications in two main categories: coating to improve osseointegration, including the hydroxyapatite layer and nanocomposites, growth factors (BMPs, PDGF, FGF), and extracellular matrix (collagen, elastin, fibronectin, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronan, and other proteoglycans), and coatings for anti-bacterial performance, covering drug-coated dental implants (antibiotic, statin, and bisphosphonate), antimicrobial peptide coating (GL13K and human beta defensins), polysaccharide antibacterial coatings (natural chitosan and its coupling agents) and metal elements (silver, zinc, and copper).

Abstract
Virtual surgical planning for CAD/CAM mandibular reconstruction by titanium prosthesis was recently reported for resected cases. Even if some advantages are evident, difficulties that may arise for TMJ function after reconstruction originate from prosthesis contamination through oral mucosa dehiscence. In these two cases reported of mandibular reconstruction after resection of ameloblastoma by custom-made CAD/CAM titanium prosthesis, the procedures were aimed to preserve the TMJ glenoid cavity and articular disc avoiding functional problems for hemi-mandibular resections that included the condyle (as in case #1) or with condylar preservation (as in case #2) and avoiding intraoral incisions in both cases. The entire surgical planning and prosthetic fabrication were explained with specifications and the sequence of the surgical procedure. Finite elements analysis (FEA) was performed to check the force distribution and efficacy of the prosthetic device (case 1 with hemi-mandibular resection and rehabilitation). Although successful in these two cases, surgical reconstruction of the mandibular defect after resection by a CAD-CAM custom-made prosthesis still shows some drawbacks and failure risks. Several advantages of this technique and the surgical success in these two cases were presented, but limitations and side effects must be considered when cases are selected.

Abstract
One of the most key areas of dentistry is dental implant surgery. The use of digital equipment and software in dentistry has developed considerably in recent years compared to other fields of medicine. Since examining the advantages and disadvantages of each approach, along with case studies, can help physicians make informed decisions, this review study aims to raise the awareness of dentists to make easier decisions about using guided or free-hand surgery. When planning for a dental implant, one of the most challenging questions that doctors face is which method to use (guided surgery or free-hand). Choosing the right method, such as other clinical considerations, will depend on the individual circumstances of each patient and the preference of the treating physician. Free-hand surgery is a cost-effective method in which the flap is reflected, and, according to the doctor's diagnostic information, an implant is placed, which in many cases is a useful method. Guided surgery has the highest level of accuracy and control, in which osteotomy is designed and printed through a digital surgery guide, and depending on the complexity of the case and the patient's anatomy, it has a higher level of value than free surgery. The surgical guide helps the surgeon make the implant surgery more accurate, safer, simpler, at a lower cost, and in less time. In fact, there are patterns that convey information about the position of the tooth to the dentist before the implant is placed.
