Dual Solutions and Stability Analysis of Micropolar Nanofluid Flow with Slip Effect on Stretching/Shrinking Surfaces

Entropy generation in magneto couple stress bionanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a stagnation point on a stretching/shrinking sheet

The study focuses on the behavior of an electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluid with couple stress properties, using water-based bionanofluid. The fluid is analyzed as it flows across a porous stretching/shrinking sheet within its own plane. This Study also explores the Bejan Number and Entropy Generation. To facilitate this investigation, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations undergo a transformation, wherein they are converted into nonlinear ordinary differential equations through a suitable similarity transformation. An ideal strategy has been employed to achieve the desired results from the modeled challenge. The Homotopy Analysis Method is applied to determine the solution of the system of differential equations. The convergence of the applied method and their comparison with the numerical method are described through graphs and tables. The main features of the different profiles are briefly described. Graphs are used to analyze the impact of the Bejan number, concentration, temperature, velocity profile, and entropy production rate. Tables present the characteristics of skin friction, Nusselt, and Sherwood numbers for various limitations. The stretching and ambient fluid velocities should fluctuate linearly as the distance from the stagnation point increases. A rise in the magnetic and porosity parameters is accompanied by an increase in the velocity profile. While the velocity profile falls off as a Couple of fluid parameters are increased. The phenomenon of temperature boost is observed to be positively correlated with the increase in Brownian motion parameter while exhibiting no significant dependence on other parameters such as Brinkman number, Prandtl number Lewis number and Thermophoresis parameter. Entropy generation increases with the Brinkman number while decreasing with the radiation parameter and diffusion parameter as is plainly demonstrated.

Dual solutions of unsteady flow of copper-alumina/water based hybrid nanofluid with acute magnetic force and slip condition

Suspending particles of tiny solid in a fluid used to transport energy can enhance its thermal conductivity and heat transport properties. Our main goal of this examination is to study the radiative unsteady two-dimensional (2D) flow on a continuously diminishing, horizontal sheet. with suction for the hybrid water-based nanofluid and an aligned field of magnetic, including the combined suction, magnetic, and velocity slip conditions effect. The Tiwari & Das model of nanofluid equations is used, which takes into consideration the solid volume percentage. Equations of similarity are derived by employing the transformations of similarity, and the associated equations have been simplified numerically by employing the bvp4c method in MATLAB software for a variety of values of the nanoparticle volume fraction, the unsteadiness, and the wall mass suction in water. It is discovered that, within the given the unsteadiness parameter range, two solutions exist. Moreover, it is found that the fluid velocity slows down in 1st solution as volume fraction of copper nanoparticles rises but speeds up in the second solution at first before slowing down again. Using a temporal stability analysis, it is found that only one of the dual branches is stable over the long run, while the other is unstable.

Stability of non-Newtonian nanofluid movement with heat/mass transportation passed through a hydro magnetic elongating/contracting sheet: multiple branches solutions

Nanomaterials have found wide applications in many fields, leading to significant interest in the scientific world, in particular automobile thermal control, heat reservoirs, freezers, hybrid control machines, paper creation, cooling organisms, etc. The aim of the present study is to investigate the MHD non-Newtonian nanofluid and time-based stability analysis to verify the stable branch by computing the smallest eigenvalue across a slendering, extending, or shrinking sheet with thermal radiation and chemical reactions. The basic flow equations have been obtained in terms of PDEs, which are then converted to ODEs in dimensionless form via a suitable transformation. Based on the MATLAB software package bvp4c, the numerical solution has been obtained for the system of equations. A comparative study of the present and published work is impressive. The influence of evolving factors such as Prandtl number, Schmidt number, magnetic factor, heat generation/absorption, thermal, thermophoresis factor, chemical factor, second-grade fluid factor, and Brownian number on the velocities, energy, and concentration patterns is discussed through graphs. It is perceived that the temperature distribution enriches owing to the greater magnitude of the heat source. Furthermore, it is observed that a greater magnitude of radiation improves the temperature curves. It is also investigated from the present analysis that concentration and temperature profiles increase due to the growing values of the thermophoresis factor.

Selim M, Ikramullah, Kumam P. Numerical modeling on hybrid nanofluid (Fe3O4+MWCNT/H2O) migration considering MHD effect over a porous cylinder

The free convective hybrid nanofluid (Fe3O4+MWCNT/H2O) magnetized non-Darcy flow over a porous cylinder is examined by considering the effects constant heat source and uniform ambient magnetic field. The developed coupled PDEs (partial differential equations) are numerically solved using the innovative computational technique of control volume finite element method (CVFEM). The impact of increasing strength of medium porousness and Lorentz forces on the hybrid nanofluid flow are presented through contour plots. The variation of the average Nusselt number (Nuave) with the growing medium porosity, buoyancy forces, radiation parameter, and the magnetic field strength is presented through 3-D plots. It is concluded that the enhancing medium porosity, buoyancy forces and radiation parameter augmented the free convective thermal energy flow. The rising magnetic field rises the temperature of the inner wall more drastically at a smaller Darcy number. An analytical expression for Nusselt number (Nuave) is obtained which shows its functional dependence on the pertinent physical parameters. The augmenting Lorentz forces due to the higher estimations of Hartmann retard the hybrid nanoliquid flow and hence enhance the conduction.

Dual Solutions Analysis of Melting Phenomenon with Mixed Convection in a Nanofluid Flow and Heat Transfer Past a Permeable Stretching/Shrinking Sheet

The 2-D MHD nanofluid with mixed convection above a stretching/shrinking plate has been investigated. Melting heat transfer near surface is contemplated. Consider the saline water as base fluid with containing single SWCNTs as well as MWCNTs. Suitable similarity variables are employed to transform the governing PDEs into ODEs. These transformed equations which are coupled, and of high nonlinearity, have been solved through applying the bvp4c solver. The consequences of the relevant parameters like, the MHD parameter, mixed convection parameter, melting parameter, volume fraction on the flow field along with the skin friction and heat transfer rate are displayed in graphical form. Results show that the thin layer thickness diminishes as magnetic parameter enhances and at the same time temperature increases with magnetic parameter. It is also demonstrated that the melting parameter leads to a reduction in the thin layer thickness as well as dimensionless temperature. Obtain dual solutions for flow fields which delineates to identify the stable solution.

Rotating 3D Flow of Hybrid Nanofluid on Exponentially Shrinking Sheet: Symmetrical Solution and Duality

This article aims to study numerically the rotating, steady, and three-dimensional (3D) flow of a hybrid nanofluid over an exponentially shrinking sheet with the suction effect. We considered water as base fluid and alumina (Al2O3), and copper (Cu) as solid nanoparticles. The system of governing partial differential equations (PDEs) was transformed by an exponential similarity variable into the equivalent system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). By applying a three-stage Labatto III-A method that is available in bvp4c solver in the Matlab software, the resultant system of ODEs was solved numerically. In the case of the hybrid nanofluid, the heat transfer rate improves relative to the viscous fluid and regular nanofluid. Two branches were obtained in certain ranges of the involved parameters. The results of the stability analysis revealed that the upper branch is stable. Moreover, the results also indicated that the equations of the hybrid nanofluid have a symmetrical solution for different values of the rotation parameter (Ω).

Effects of Stefan Blowing and Slip Conditions on Unsteady MHD Casson Nanofluid Flow Over an Unsteady Shrinking Sheet: Dual Solutions

In this article, the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Casson nanofluid with thermal radiation over an unsteady shrinking surface is investigated. The equation of momentum is derived from the Navier–Stokes model for non-Newtonian fluid where components of the viscous terms are symmetric. The effect of Stefan blowing with partial slip conditions of velocity, concentration, and temperature on the velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions is also taken into account. The modeled equations of partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed into the equivalent boundary value problems (BVPs) of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by employing similarity transformations. These similarity transformations can be obtained by using symmetry analysis. The resultant BVPs are reduced into initial value problems (IVPs) by using the shooting method and then solved by using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta (RK) technique. The numerical results reveal that dual solutions exist in some ranges of different physical parameters such as unsteadiness and suction/injection parameters. The thickness of the velocity boundary layer is enhanced in the second solution by increasing the magnetic and velocity slip factor effect in the boundary layer. Increment in the Prandtl number and Brownian motion parameter is caused by a reduction of the thickness of the thermal boundary layer and temperature. Moreover, stability analysis performed by employing the three-stage Lobatto IIIA formula in the BVP4C solver with the help of MATLAB software reveals that only the first solution is stable and physically realizable.

Dual Solutions and Stability Analysis of Magnetized Hybrid Nanofluid with Joule Heating and Multiple Slip Conditions

This paper investigates the steady, two dimensional, and magnetohydrodynamic flow of copper and alumina/water hybrid nanofluid on a permeable exponentially shrinking surface in the presence of Joule heating, velocity slip, and thermal slip parameters. Adopting the model of Tiwari and Das, the mathematical formulation of governing partial differential equations was constructed, which was then transformed into the equivalent system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by employing exponential similarity transformation variables. The resultant system was solved numerically using the BVP4C solver in the MATLAB software. For validation purposes, the obtained numerical results were compared graphically with those in previous studies, and found to be in good agreement, as the critical points are the same up to three decimal points. Based on the numerical results, it was revealed that dual solutions exist within specific ranges of the suction and magnetic parameters. Stability analysis was performed on both solutions in order to determine which solution(s) is/are stable. The analysis indicated that only the first solution is stable. Furthermore, it was also found that the temperature increases in both solutions when the magnetic parameter and Eckert number are increased, while it reduces as the thermal slip parameter rises. Furthermore, the coefficient of skin friction and the heat transfer rate increase for the first solution when the magnetic and the suction parameters are increased. Meanwhile, no change is noticed in the boundary layer separation for the various values of the Eckert number in the heat transfer rate.

Dual Solutions and Stability Analysis of a Hybrid Nanofluid over a Stretching/Shrinking Sheet Executing MHD Flow

In this paper, the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of hybrid nanofluid (HNF) composed of C u − A l 2 O 3 /water in the presence of a thermal radiation effect over the stretching/shrinking sheet is investigated. Using similarity transformation, the governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), which are then solved by using a shooting method. In order to validate the obtained numerical results, the comparison of the results with the published literature is made numerically as well as graphically and is found in good agreements. In addition, the effects of many emerging physical governing parameters on the profiles of velocity, temperature, skin friction coefficient, and heat transfer rate are demonstrated graphically and are elucidated theoretically. Based on the numerical results, dual solutions exist in a specific range of magnetic, suction, and unsteadiness parameters. It was also found that the values of f ″ ( 0 ) rise in the first solution and reduce in the second solution when the solid volume fraction ϕ C u is increased. Finally, the temporal stability analysis of the solutions is conducted, and it is concluded that only the first solution is stable.

Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Flow of Micropolar Fluid with Effects of Viscous Dissipation and Joule Heating Over an Exponential Shrinking Sheet: Triple Solutions and Stability Analysis

A numerical study was carried out to examine the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar fluid on a shrinking surface in the presence of both Joule heating and viscous dissipation effects. The governing system of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) was obtained from the system of partial differential equations (PDEs) by employing exponential transformations. The resultant equations were transformed into initial value problems (IVPs) by shooting technique and then solved by the Runge–Kutta (RK) method. The effects of different parameters on velocity, angular velocity, temperature profiles, skin friction coefficient, and Nusselt number were obtained and demonstrated graphically. We observed that multiple solutions occurred in certain assortments of the parameters for suction on a surface. The stability analysis of solutions was performed, and we noted that the first solution was stable while the remaining two solutions were not. The results also showed that the velocity of the fluid increased as the non-Newtonian parameter rose in all solutions. Furthermore, it was detected that the temperature of fluid rose at higher values of the Eckert number in all solutions.

Stability Analysis and Dual Solutions of Micropolar Nanofluid over the Inclined Stretching/Shrinking Surface with Convective Boundary Condition

The present study accentuates the heat transfer characteristics of a convective condition of micropolar nanofluid on a permeable shrinking/stretching inclined surface. Brownian and thermophoresis effects are also involved to incorporate energy and concentration equations. Moreover, linear similarity transformation has been used to transform the system of governing partial differential equations (PDEs) into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The numerical comparison has been done with the previously published results and found in good agreement graphically and tabular form by using the shooting method in MAPLE software. Dual solutions have been found in the specific range of shrinking/stretching surface parameters and the mass suction parameter for the opposing flow case. Moreover, the skin friction coefficient, the heat transfer coefficient, the couple stress coefficient, and the concentration transfer rate decelerate in both solutions against the mass suction parameter for the augmentation of the micropolar parameter respectively. The first (second) solution is the stable (unstable) solution and can (not) be considered as a real solution as the values of the smallest eigenvalues are positive (negative).
