Abstract
Recent years have witnessed rapid development in the field of tin-based perovskite solar cells (TPSCs) due to their environmental friendliness and tremendous potential in the photovoltaic field. Most of the high-performance PSCs are based on lead as the light-absorber material. However, the toxicity of lead and the commercialization raise concerns about potential health and environmental hazards. TPSCs can maintain all the optoelectronic properties of lead PSCs, as well as feature a favorable smaller bandgap. However, TPSCs tend to undergo rapid oxidation, crystallization, and charge recombination, which make it difficult to unlock the full potential of such perovskites. Here, we shed light on the most critical features and mechanisms affecting the growth, oxidation, crystallization, morphology, energy levels, stability, and performance of TPSCs. We also investigate the recent strategies, such as interfaces and bulk additives, built-in electric field, and alternative charge transport materials that are used to enhance the performance of the TPSCs. More importantly, we have summarized most of the recent best-performing lead-free and lead-mixed TPSCs. This review aims to help future research in TPSCs to produce highly stable and efficient solar cells.

Abstract
Tin (Sn)-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted extensive attention due to the irlow toxicity and excellent optoelectric properties. Nonetheless, the development of Sn-based PSCs is still hampered by poor film quality due to the fast crystallization and the oxidation from Sn2+ to Sn4+. In this work, we compare and employ three ethylammonium halides, EAX (X = Cl, Br, I) to explore their roles in Sn-based perovskites and solar cells. We find that crystallinity and crystallization orientation of perovskites are optimized with the regulation of EAI. EABr leads to reduced defect density and enhanced crystallinity but also the lowest absorption and the widest band gap owing to the substitution of Br-. Notably, perovskites with EACl exhibit the best crystallinity, lowest defect density, and excellent antioxidant capacity benefiting from the partial substitution of Cl-. Consequently, the EACl-modified device achieves a champion PCE of 12.50% with an improved Voc of 0.79 V. Meanwhile, an unencapsulated EACl device shows excellent shelf stability with negligible efficiency degradation after 5400 h of storage in a N2-filled glovebox, and the encapsulated device retains its initial efficiency after continuous light illumination at the maximum power point for 100 h in air.

Abstract
In this twenty-first century, energy shortages have become a global issue as energy demand is growing at an astounding rate while the energy supply from fossil fuels is depleting. Thus, the urge to develop sustainable renewable energy to replace fossil fuels is significant to prevent energy shortages. Solar energy is the most promising, accessible, renewable, clean, and sustainable substitute for fossil fuels. Third-generation (3G) emerging solar cell technologies have been popular in the research field as there are many possibilities to be explored. Among the 3G solar cell technologies, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are the most rapidly developing technology, making them suitable for generating electricity efficiently with low production costs. However, the toxicity of Pb in organic-inorganic metal halide PSCs has inherent shortcomings, which will lead to environmental contamination and public health problems. Therefore, developing a lead-free perovskite solar cell is necessary to ensure human health and a pollution-free environment. This review paper summarized numerous types of Sn-based perovskites with important achievements in experimental-based studies to date.

Abstract
In this paper, we use Polyethylene Oxide (PEO) particles to control the morphology of Formamidinium (FA)-rich perovskite films and achieve large grains with improved optoelectronic properties. Consequently, a planar perovskite solar cell (PSC) is fabricated with additions of 5 wt% of PEO, and the highest PCE of 18.03% was obtained. This solar cell is also shown to retain up to 80% of its initial PCE after about 140 h of storage under the ambient conditions (average relative humidity of 62.5 ± 3.25%) in an unencapsulated state. Furthermore, the steady-state PCE of the PEO-modified PSC device remained stable for long (over 2500 s) under continuous illumination. This addition of PEO particles is shown to enable the tuning of the optoelectronic properties of perovskite films, improvements in the overall photophysical properties of PSCs, and an increase in resistance to the degradation of PSCs.

Abstract
Organic-inorganic perovskite materials have become star materials for future wide band gap optoelectronics due to their excellent optical and electrical properties. However, the lead ions inside perovskites have become a crucial environmental issue in the commercialization of wide band gap perovskite devices . This research tries to find the structure and properties of lead-free perovskite materials by screening Sn2+ and transition-metal ions to replace Pb2+ within the methylammonium (MA)-based chloride perovskite and find out a new two-dimensional structure of MA-based transition-metal ion chlorides. Overall, MAZnCl3 may be a potential ultraviolet-C luminescent material with a stable two-dimensional structure with a wide band gap of 5.64 eV, which is suitable for ultraviolet-C luminescence applications.

Abstract
Photovoltaic technology using perovskite solar cells has emerged as a potential solution in the photovoltaic makings for cost-effective manufacturing solutions deposition/coating solar cells. The hybrid perovskite-based materials possess a unique blend from low bulk snare concentrations, ambipolar, broad optical absorption properties, extended charge carrier diffusion, and charge transport/collection properties, making them favourable for solar cell applications. However, perovskite solar cells devices suffer from the effects of natural instability, leading to their rapid degradation while bared to water, oxygen, as well as ultraviolet rays, are irradiated and in case of high temperatures. It is essential to shield the perovskite film from damage, extend lifetime, and make it suitable for device fabrications. This paper focuses on various device strategies and computational attempts to address perovskite-based solar cells' environmental stability issues.

Abstract
Despite the advancement made by the scientific community in the evolving photovoltaic technologies, including the achievement of a 29.1% power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells over the past two decades, there are still numerous challenges facing the advancement of lead-based halide perovskite absorbers for perovskite photovoltaic applications. Among the numerous challenges, the major concern is centered around the toxicity of the emerging lead-based halide perovskite absorbers, thereby leading to drawbacks for their pragmatic application and commercialization. Hence, the replacement of lead in the perovskite material with non-hazardous metal has become the central focus for the actualization of hybrid perovskite technology. This review focuses on lead-free hybrid halide perovskites as light absorbers with emphasis on how their chemical compositions influence optical properties, morphological properties, and to a certain extent, the stability of these perovskite materials.

Abstract
Lead-based organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials have been developed for advanced optoelectronic applications. However, the toxicity of lead and the chemical instability of lead-based perovskite materials have so far been demonstrated to be an overwhelming challenge. The discovery of perovskite materials based on low-toxicity elements, such as Sn, Bi, Sb, Ge, and Cu, with superior optoelectronic properties provides alternative approaches to realize high-performance perovskite optoelectronics. In this review, recent advances in the aspects of low-toxicity perovskite solar cells, photodetectors, light-emitting diodes, and thermoelectric devices are highlighted. The antioxidation stability of metal cation and the crystallization process of the low-toxicity perovskite materials are discussed. In the last part, the outlook toward addressing various issues requiring further attention in the development of low-toxicity perovskite materials is outlined.
