Functional Annotation and Curation of Hypothetical Proteins Present in A Newly Emerged Serotype 1c of Shigella flexneri: Emphasis on Selecting Targets for Virulence and Vaccine Design Studies

An immuno-informatics approach for annotation of hypothetical proteins and multi-epitope vaccine designed against the Mpox virus

A worrying new outbreak of Monkeypox (Mpox) in humans is caused by the Mpox virus (MpoxV). The pathogen has roughly 28 hypothetical proteins of unknown structure, function, and pathogenicity. Using reliable bioinformatics tools, we attempted to analyze the MpoxV genome, identify the role of hypothetical proteins (HPs), and design a potential candidate vaccine. Out of 28, we identified seven hypothetical proteins using multi-server validation with high confidence for the occurrence of conserved domains. Their physical, chemical, and functional characterizations, including molecular weight, theoretical isoelectric point, 3D structures, GRAVY value, subcellular localization, functional motifs, antigenicity, and virulence factors, were performed. We predicted possible cytotoxic T cell (CTL), helper T cell (HTL) and linear and conformational B cell epitopes, which were combined in a 219 amino acid multiepitope vaccine with human β defensin as a linker. This multi-epitopic vaccine was structurally modelled and docked with toll-like receptor-3 (TLR-3). The dynamical stability of the vaccine-TLR-3 docked complexes exhibited stable interactions based on RMSD and RMSF tests. Additionally, the modelled vaccine was cloned in-silico in an E. coli host to check the appropriate expression of the final vaccine built. Our results might conform to an immunogenic and safe vaccine, which would require further experimental validation.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

In-silico approach to characterize the structure and function of a hypothetical protein of Monkeypox virus exploring Chordopox-A20R domain-containing protein activity

Background: Monkeypox has emerged as a noteworthy worldwide issue due to its daily escalating case count. This illness presents diverse symptoms, including skin manifestations, which have the potential to spread through contact. The transmission of this infectious agent is intricate and readily transfers between individuals.Methods: The hypothetical protein MPXV-SI-2022V502225_00135 strain of monkeypox underwent structural and functional analysis using NCBI-CD Search, Pfam, and InterProScan. Quality assessment utilized PROCHECK, QMEAN, Verify3D, and ERRAT, followed by protein-ligand docking, visualization, and a 100-nanosecond simulation on Schrodinger Maestro.Results: Different physicochemical properties were estimated, indicating a stable molecular weight (49147.14) and theoretical pI (5.62) with functional annotation tools predicting the target protein to contain the domain of Chordopox_A20R domain. In secondary structure analysis, the helix coil was found to be predominant. The three-dimensional (3D) structure of the protein was obtained using a template protein (PDB ID: 6zyc.1), which became more stable after YASARA energy minimization and was validated by quality assessment tools like PROCHECK, QMEAN, Verify3D, and ERRAT. Protein-ligand docking was conducted using PyRx 9.0 software to examine the binding and interactions between a ligand and a hypothetical protein, focusing on various amino acids. The model structure, active site, and binding site were visualized using the CASTp server, FTsite, and PyMOL. A 100 nanosecond simulation was performed with ligand CID_16124688 to evaluate the efficiency of this protein.Conclusion: The analysis revealed significant binding interactions and enhanced stability, aiding in drug or vaccine design for effective antiviral treatment and patient management.

Functional annotation of Candida albicans hypothetical proteins: a bioinformatics approach

Candida albicans is a member of the ascomycetes class of fungi and it is an opportunistic pathogen species responsible for a wide range of fungal infections in humans. Bioinformatics and sequencing analysis of Candida proteomics has disclosed that around 69% proteome is still uncharacterized which needs to be annotated with functions. The NCBI-Genome has termed them as hypothetical proteins (HPs) in the whole proteome of Candida. Interpretation of this substantial portion of the proteome can reveal novel pharmacological targets for markers, drug development, and other therapeutics and so on. In this article, we have assigned functional annotation to these hypothetical proteins using bioinformatics methodologies. The advanced and robust computational models have been used to assign the preliminary functions to these putative HPs with high level of confidence. The findings of this study unveil some novel pharmacological targets for drug therapy and vaccines and it would help to identify novel molecular mechanisms underlying the fungal pathogenesis.

Structural and Functional Annotation of Hypothetical Proteins from the Microsporidia Species Vittaforma corneae ATCC 50505 Using in silico Approaches

Microsporidia are spore-forming eukaryotes that are related to fungi but have unique traits that set them apart. They have compact genomes as a result of evolutionary gene loss associated with their complete dependency on hosts for survival. Despite having a relatively small number of genes, a disproportionately high percentage of the genes in microsporidia genomes code for proteins whose functions remain unknown (hypothetical proteins-HPs). Computational annotation of HPs has become a more efficient and cost-effective alternative to experimental investigation. This research developed a robust bioinformatics annotation pipeline of HPs from Vittaforma corneae, a clinically important microsporidian that causes ocular infections in immunocompromised individuals. Here, we describe various steps to retrieve sequences and homologs and to carry out physicochemical characterization, protein family classification, identification of motifs and domains, protein-protein interaction network analysis, and homology modelling using a variety of online resources. Classification of protein families produced consistent findings across platforms, demonstrating the accuracy of annotation utilizing in silico methods. A total of 162 out of 2034 HPs were fully annotated, with the bulk of them categorized as binding proteins, enzymes, or regulatory proteins. The protein functions of several HPs from Vittaforma corneae were accurately inferred. This improved our understanding of microsporidian HPs despite challenges related to the obligate nature of microsporidia, the absence of fully characterized genes, and the lack of homologous genes in other systems.

Metabolic switching and cell wall remodelling of Mycobacterium tuberculosis during bone tuberculosis

OBJECTIVES

Bone tuberculosis (TB) is the third most common types of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. It is critical to understand mycobacterial adaptive strategies within bone lesions to identify mycobacterial factors that may have role in disease pathogenesis.

METHODS

Whole genome microarray was used to characterize the in-vivo transcriptome of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb) within bone TB specimens. Mycobacterial virulent proteins were identified by bioinformatic software. An in vitro osteoblast cell line model was used to study the role of these proteins in bone TB pathogenesis.

RESULTS

914 mycobacterial genes were significantly overexpressed and 1688 were repressed in bone TB specimens. Pathway analysis of differentially expressed genes demonstrated a non-replicative and hypometabolic state of M.tb, reinforcement of the mycobacterial cell wall and induction of DNA damage repair responses, suggesting possible survival strategies of M.tb within bone. Bioinformatics mining of microarray data led to identification of five virulence proteins. The genes encoding these proteins were also upregulated in the in vitro MC3T3 osteoblast cell line model of bone TB. Further, exposure of osteoblast cells to two of these virulence proteins (Rv1046c and Rv3663c) significantly inhibited osteoblast differentiation.

CONCLUSION

M.tb alters its transcriptome to establish infection in bone by upregulating certain virulence genes which play a key role in disturbing bone homeostasis.

Identification and functional annotation of hypothetical proteins of uropathogenic Escherichia coli strain CFT073 towards designing antimicrobial drug targets

Urinary tract infections are a serious health concern worldwide, especially in developing countries. Escherichia coli strain CFT073 is a highly virulent pathogenic bacterial strain. CFT073 proteome contains 4897 proteins, out of which 992 have been classified as hypothetical proteins. Identification and characterization of hypothetical proteins can aid in the selection of targets for drug design. In this study, we studied the hypothetical proteins from the UPEC strain CFT073 using various computational tools. By NCBI-CDD, 376 protein sequences showed conserved domains. Based on the functional motifs in their primary sequences, we classified these 376 hypothetical proteins into 7 functional categories. Further KEGG database was used to find the roles of these hypothetical proteins in several pathways. Protein interaction network analysis of hypothetical proteins identified 53 proteins as highly interacting metabolic proteins. Virulence factor analysis of the proteins identified 8 proteins as virulent. We conducted a non-homology search for the identified proteins of UPEC in the available human proteome. We observed that 35 proteins are non-homologous to humans and hence could be selected for drug designing targets. Qualitative characterization of the selected 35 non-homologous hypothetical proteins including essentiality analysis and evaluation of druggability by similarity search against drug bank database was performed. Out of these 35 proteins, three-dimensional structures of six proteins (NP_752562.1, NP_756345.1, NP_754893.1, NP_756600.2, NP_755264.1 and NP_752994.1) could be successfully modelled. These new annotations can help to better understand disease mechanisms at the molecular level, as well as provide new targets for drug development against the UPEC strain CFT073.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Unsupervised Machine Learning Organization of the Functional Dark Proteome of Gram-Negative "Superbugs": Six Protein Clusters Amenable for Distinct Scientific Applications

Uncharacterized proteins have been underutilized as targets for the development of novel therapeutics for difficult-to-treat bacterial infections. To facilitate the exploration of these proteins, 2819 predicted, uncharacterized proteins (19.1% of the total) from reference strains of multidrug Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa species were organized using an unsupervised k-means machine learning algorithm. Classification using normalized values for protein length, pI, hydrophobicity, degree of conservation, structural disorder, and %AT of the coding gene rendered six natural clusters. Cluster proteins showed different trends regarding operon membership, expression, presence of unknown function domains, and interactomic relevance. Clusters 2, 4, and 5 were enriched with highly disordered proteins, nonworkable membrane proteins, and likely spurious proteins, respectively. Clusters 1, 3, and 6 showed closer distances to known antigens, antibiotic targets, and virulence factors. Up to 21.8% of proteins in these clusters were structurally covered by modeling, which allowed assessment of druggability and discontinuous B-cell epitopes. Five proteins (4 in Cluster 1) were potential druggable targets for antibiotherapy. Eighteen proteins (11 in Cluster 6) were strong B-cell and T-cell immunogen candidates for vaccine development. Conclusively, we provide a feature-based schema to fractionate the functional dark proteome of critical pathogens for fundamental and biomedical purposes.

Functional Characterization, Mechanism, and Mode of Action of Putative Streptomycin Adenylyltransferase from Serratia marcescens

Nosocomial infections are serious threats to the entire world in healthcare settings. The major causative agents of nosocomial infections are bacterial pathogens, among which Enterobacteriaceae family member Serratia marcescens plays a crucial role. It is a gram-negative opportunistic pathogen, predominantly affecting patients in intensive-care units. The presence of intrinsic genes in S. marcescens led to the development of resistance to antibiotics for survival. Complete scanning of the proteome, including hypothetical and partially annotated proteins, paves the way for a better understanding of potential drug targets. The targeted protein expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) pLysS cells has shown complete resistance to aminoglycoside antibiotic streptomycin (>256 MCG). The recombinant protein was purified using affinity and size-exclusion chromatography and characterized using SDS-PAGE, western blotting, and MALDI-TOF analysis. Free phosphate bound to malachite green was detected at 620 nm, evident of the conversion of adenosine triphosphate to adenosine monophosphate during the adenylation process. Similarly, in the chromatographic assay, adenylated streptomycin absorbed at 260 nm in AKTA (FPLC), confirming the enzyme-catalyzed adenylation of streptomycin. Further, the adenylated product of streptomycin was confirmed through HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis. In conclusion, our characterization studies identified the partially annotated hypothetical protein as streptomycin adenylyltransferase.

Functional Role of YnfA, an Efflux Transporter in Resistance to Antimicrobial Agents in Shigella flexneri

Shigella flexneri has become a significant public health concern accounting for the majority of shigellosis cases worldwide. Even though a multitude of efforts is being made into the development of a vaccine to prevent infections, the absence of a licensed global vaccine compels us to enormously depend on antibiotics as the major treatment option. The extensive-unregulated use of antibiotics for treatment along with natural selection in bacteria has led to the rising of multidrug-resistance Shigella strains. Out of the various mechanisms employed by bacteria to gain resistance, efflux transporters are considered to be one of the principal contributors to antimicrobial resistance. The small multidrug-resistance family consists of unique small proteins that act as efflux pumps and are involved in extruding various antimicrobial compounds. The present study aims to demonstrate the role of an efflux transporter YnfA belonging to the SMR family and its functional involvement in promoting antimicrobial resistance in S. flexneri. Employing various genetic, computational, and biochemical techniques, we show how disrupting the YnfA transporter, renders the mutant Shigella strain more susceptible to some antimicrobial compounds tested in this study, and significantly affects the overall transport activity of the bacteria against ethidium bromide and acriflavine when compared with the wild-type Shigella strain. We also assessed how mutating some of the conserved amino acid residues of YnfA alters the resistance profile and efflux activity of the mutant YnfA transporter. This study provides a functional understanding of an uncharacterized SMR transporter YnfA of Shigella.

Revealing potential functions of hypothetical proteins induced by genistein in the symbiosis island of Bradyrhizobium japonicum commercial strain SEMIA 5079 (= CPAC 15)

BACKGROUND

Bradyrhizobium japonicum strain SEMIA 5079 (= CPAC 15) is a nitrogen-fixing symbiont of soybean broadly used in commercial inoculants in Brazil. Its genome has about 50% of hypothetical (HP) protein-coding genes, many in the symbiosis island, raising questions about their putative role on the biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) process. This study aimed to infer functional roles to 15 HP genes localized in the symbiosis island of SEMIA 5079, and to analyze their expression in the presence of a nod-gene inducer.

RESULTS

A workflow of bioinformatics tools/databases was established and allowed the functional annotation of the HP genes. Most were enzymes, including transferases in the biosynthetic pathways of cobalamin, amino acids and secondary metabolites that may help in saprophytic ability and stress tolerance, and hydrolases, that may be important for competitiveness, plant infection, and stress tolerance. Putative roles for other enzymes and transporters identified are discussed. Some HP proteins were specific to the genus Bradyrhizobium, others to specific host legumes, and the analysis of orthologues helped to predict roles in BNF.

CONCLUSIONS

All 15 HP genes were induced by genistein and high induction was confirmed in five of them, suggesting major roles in the BNF process.

YfiB: An Outer Membrane Protein Involved in the Virulence of Shigella flexneri

The intracellular pathogen Shigella flexneri, which is the causative agent of bacillary dysentery, significantly influences the worldwide implication of diarrheal infections, consequentially causing about 1.1 million deaths each year. Due to a nonavailability of an authorized vaccine and the upsurge of multidrug resistance amongst Shigella strains, there has been a huge demand for further genetic analyses which could help in the advancement of new/improved drugs, and finding vaccine candidates against the pathogen. The present study aims to illustrate the role of the yfiB gene in Shigella virulence, part of the periplasmic YfiBNR tripartite signalling system. This system is involved in the regulation of cyclic-di-GMP levels inside the bacterial cells, a vital messenger molecule impacting varied cellular processes such as biofilm formation, cytotoxicity, motility, synthesis of exopolysaccharide, and other virulence mechanisms such as adhesion and invasion of the bacteria. Through a combination of genetic, biochemical, and virulence assays, we show how knocking out the yfiB gene can disrupt the entire YfiBNR system and affect the native c-di-GMP levels. We found that this subsequently causes a negative effect on the biofilm formation, bacterial invasion, host–surface attachment, and the overall virulence of Shigella. This study also carried out a structural and functional assessment of the YfiB protein and determined critical amino acid residues, essential for proper functioning of this signalling system. The present work improves our understanding of the in vivo persistence and survival of Shigella, brings light to the c-di-GMP led regulation of Shigella virulence, and provides a prospective new target to design anti-infection drugs and vaccines against S. flexneri and other bacterial pathogens.

Investigating the Functional Role of Hypothetical Proteins From an Antarctic Bacterium Pseudomonas sp. Lz4W: Emphasis on Identifying Proteins Involved in Cold Adaptation

Exploring the molecular mechanisms behind bacterial adaptation to extreme temperatures has potential biotechnological applications. In the present study, Pseudomonas sp. Lz4W, a Gram-negative psychrophilic bacterium adapted to survive in Antarctica, was selected to decipher the molecular mechanism underlying the cold adaptation. Proteome analysis of the isolates grown at 4°C was performed to identify the proteins and pathways that are responsible for the adaptation. However, many proteins from the expressed proteome were found to be hypothetical proteins (HPs), whose function is unknown. Investigating the functional roles of these proteins may provide additional information in the biological understanding of the bacterial cold adaptation. Thus, our study aimed to assign functions to these HPs and understand their role at the molecular level. We used a structured insilico workflow combining different bioinformatics tools and databases for functional annotation. Pseudomonas sp. Lz4W genome (CP017432, version 1) contains 4493 genes and 4412 coding sequences (CDS), of which 743 CDS were annotated as HPs. Of these, from the proteome analysis, 61 HPs were found to be expressed consistently at the protein level. The amino acid sequences of these 61 HPs were submitted to our workflow and we could successfully assign a function to 18 HPs. Most of these proteins were predicted to be involved in biological mechanisms of cold adaptations such as peptidoglycan metabolism, cell wall organization, ATP hydrolysis, outer membrane fluidity, catalysis, and others. This study provided a better understanding of the functional significance of HPs in cold adaptation of Pseudomonas sp. Lz4W. Our approach emphasizes the importance of addressing the “hypothetical protein problem” for a thorough understanding of mechanisms at the cellular level, as well as, provided the assessment of integrating proteomics methods with various annotation and curation approaches to characterize hypothetical or uncharacterized protein data. The MS proteomics data generated from this study has been deposited to the ProteomeXchange through PRIDE with the dataset identifier–PXD029741.

Manual Annotation Studio (MAS): a collaborative platform for manual functional annotation of viral and microbial genomes

Background

Functional genome annotation is the process of labelling functional genomic regions with descriptive information. Manual curation can produce higher quality genome annotations than fully automated methods. Manual annotation efforts are time-consuming and complex; however, software can help reduce these drawbacks.

Results

We created Manual Annotation Studio (MAS) to improve the efficiency of the process of manual functional annotation prokaryotic and viral genomes. MAS allows users to upload unannotated genomes, provides an interface to edit and upload annotations, tracks annotation history and progress, and saves data to a relational database. MAS provides users with pertinent information through a simple point and click interface to execute and visualize results for multiple homology search tools (blastp, rpsblast, and HHsearch) against multiple databases (Swiss-Prot, nr, CDD, PDB, and an internally generated database). MAS was designed to accept connections over the local area network (LAN) of a lab or organization so multiple users can access it simultaneously. MAS can take advantage of high-performance computing (HPC) clusters by interfacing with SGE or SLURM and data can be exported from MAS in a variety of formats (FASTA, GenBank, GFF, and excel).

Conclusions

MAS streamlines and provides structure to manual functional annotation projects. MAS enhances the ability of users to generate, interpret, and compare results from multiple tools. The structure that MAS provides can improve project organization and reduce annotation errors. MAS is ideal for team-based annotation projects because it facilitates collaboration.

Screening and characterization of hypothetical proteins of Plasmodium falciparum as novel vaccine candidates in the fight against malaria using reverse vaccinology

BACKGROUND

Plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly and leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Africa. About 90% of all malaria deaths in the world today occur in Sub-Saharan Africa especially in children aged < 5 years. In 2018, it was reported that there were 228 million malaria cases that resulted in 405,000 deaths from 91 countries. Currently, a fully effective and long-lasting preventive malaria vaccine is still elusive therefore more effort is needed to identify better effective vaccine candidates. The aim of this study was to identify and characterize hypothetical proteins as vaccine candidates derived from Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 genome by reverse vaccinology.

RESULTS

Of the 23 selected hypothetical proteins, 5 were predicted on the extracellular localization by WoLFPSORTv.2.0 program and all the 5 had less than 2 transmembrane regions that were predicted by TMHMMv2.0 and HMMTOP programs at default settings. Two out of the five proteins lacked secretory signal peptides as predicted by SignalP program. Among the 5 extracellular proteins, 3 were predicted to be antigenic by VaxiJen (score ≥ 0.5) and had negative GRAVY values ranging from - 1.156 to - 0.440. B cell epitope prediction by ABCpred and BCpred programs revealed a total of 15 antigenic epitopes. A total of 13 cytotoxic T cells were predicted from the 3 proteins using CTLPred online server. Only 2 out of the 13 CTL were antigenic, immunogenic, non-allergenic, and non-toxic using VaxiJen, IEDB, AllergenFp, and Toxinpred servers respectively in that order. Five HTL peptides from XP_001351030.1 protein are predicted inducers of all the three cytokines. STRING protein-protein network analysis of HPs revealed XP_001350955.1 closely interacts with nucleoside diphosphate kinase (PF13-0349) at 0.704, XP_001351030.1 interacts with male development protein1 (Mdv-1) at 0.645, and XP_001351047.1 with an uncharacterized protein (MAL8P1.53) at 0.400.

CONCLUSION

Reverse vaccinology is a promising strategy for the screening and identification of antigenic antigens with potential capacity to elicit cellular and humoral immune responses against P. falciparum infection. In this study, potential vaccine candidates of Plasmodium falciparum were identified and screened using standard bioinformatics tools. The vaccine candidates contained antigenic and immunogenic epitopes which could be considered for novel and effective vaccine targets. However, we strongly recommend in vivo and in vitro experiments to validate their immunogenicity and protective efficacy to completely decipher the vaccine targets against malaria.

In Silico Characterization of a Hypothetical Protein from Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 12039 Reveals a Pathogenesis-Related Protein of the Type-VI Secretion System

Shigellosis caused by Shigella dysenteriae is a major public health concern worldwide, particularly in developing countries. The bacterial genome is known, but there are many hypothetical proteins whose functions are yet to be discovered. A hypothetical protein (accession no. WP_128879999.1, 161 residues) of S. dysenteriae ATCC 12039 strain was selected in this study for comprehensive structural and functional analysis. Subcellular localization and different physicochemical properties of this hypothetical protein were estimated indicating it as a stable, soluble, and extracellular protein. Functional annotation tools, such as NCBI-CD Search, Pfam, and InterProScan, predicted our target protein to be an amidase effector protein 4 (Tae4) of type-VI secretion system (T6SS). Multiple sequence alignment of the homologous sequences coincided with previous findings. Random coil was found to be predominant in secondary structure. Three-dimensional (3D) structure of the protein was obtained using homology modeling method by SWISS-MODEL server using a template protein (PDB ID: 4J30) of 80.12% sequence identity. The 3D structure became more stable after YASARA energy minimization and was validated by several quality assessment tools like PROCHECK, QMEAN, Verify3D, and ERRAT. Superimposition of the target with the template protein by UCSF Chimera generated RMSD value of 0.115 Å, suggesting a reliable 3D structure. The active site of the modeled structure was predicted and visualized by CASTp server and PyMOL. Interestingly, similar binding affinity and key interacting residues were found for the target protein and a Salmonella enterica Tae4 protein with the ligand L-Ala D-Glu-mDAP by molecular docking analysis. Protein-protein docking was also performed between the target protein and hemolysin coregulated protein 1 of T6SS. Finally, the protein was found to be a unique protein of S. dysenteriae nonhomologous to human by comparative genomics approach indicating a potential therapeutic target. Most pathogens harboring T6SS in their system pose a significant threat to the human health. Many T6SSs and their effectors are associated with interbacterial competition, pathogenesis, and virulency; however, relationships between these effectors and pathogenicity of S. dysenteriae are yet to be determined. The study findings provide a lucrative platform for future antibacterial treatment.

In silico functional prediction of hypothetical proteins from the core genome of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis biovar ovis

Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis is a pathogen of veterinary relevance diseases, being divided into two biovars: equi and ovis; causing ulcerative lymphangitis and caseous lymphadenitis, respectively. The isolation and sequencing of C. pseudotuberculosis biovar ovis strains in the Northern and Northeastern regions of Brazil exhibited the emergence of this pathogen, which causes economic losses to small ruminant producers, and condemnation of carcasses and skins of animals. Through the pan-genomic approach, it is possible to determine and analyze genes that are shared by all strains of a species—the core genome. However, many of these genes do not have any predicted function, being characterized as hypothetical proteins (HP). In this study, we considered 32 C. pseudotuberculosis biovar ovis genomes for the pan-genomic analysis, where were identified 172 HP present in a core genome composed by 1255 genes. We are able to functionally annotate 80 sequences previously characterized as HP through the identification of structural features as conserved domains and families. Furthermore, we analyzed the physicochemical properties, subcellular localization and molecular function. Additionally, through RNA-seq data, we investigated the differential gene expression of the annotated HP. Genes inserted in pathogenicity islands had their virulence potential evaluated. Also, we have analyzed the existence of functional associations for their products based on protein–protein interaction networks, and perform the structural prediction of three targets. Due to the integration of different strategies, this study can underlie deeper in vitro researches in the characterization of these HP and the search for new solutions for combat this pathogen.
