A Machine-Learning Method of Predicting Vital Capacity Plateau Value for Ventilatory Pump Failure Based on Data Mining

Development of a hybrid LSTM with chimp optimization algorithm for the pressure ventilator prediction

The utilization of mechanical ventilation is of utmost importance in the management of individuals afflicted with severe pulmonary conditions. During periods of a pandemic, it becomes imperative to build ventilators that possess the capability to autonomously adapt parameters over the course of treatment. In order to fulfil this requirement, a research investigation was undertaken with the aim of forecasting the magnitude of pressure applied on the patient by the ventilator. The aforementioned forecast was derived from a comprehensive analysis of many variables, including the ventilator's characteristics and the patient's medical state. This analysis was conducted utilizing a sophisticated computational model referred to as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). To enhance the predictive accuracy of the LSTM model, the researchers utilized the Chimp Optimization method (ChoA) method. The integration of LSTM and ChoA led to the development of the LSTM-ChoA model, which successfully tackled the issue of hyperparameter selection for the LSTM model. The experimental results revealed that the LSTM-ChoA model exhibited superior performance compared to alternative optimization algorithms, namely whale grey wolf optimizer (GWO), optimization algorithm (WOA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO). Additionally, the LSTM-ChoA model outperformed regression models, including K-nearest neighbor (KNN) Regressor, Random and Forest (RF) Regressor, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) Regressor, in accurately predicting ventilator pressure. The findings indicate that the suggested predictive model, LSTM-ChoA, demonstrates a reduced mean square error (MSE) value. Specifically, when comparing ChoA with GWO, the MSE fell by around 14.8%. Furthermore, when comparing ChoA with PSO and WOA, the MSE decreased by approximately 60%. Additionally, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) findings revealed that the p-value for the LSTM-ChoA model was 0.000, which is less than the predetermined significance level of 0.05. This indicates that the results of the LSTM-ChoA model are statistically significant.

A Short-Term Hybrid TCN-GRU Prediction Model of Bike-Sharing Demand Based on Travel Characteristics Mining

This paper proposes an accurate short-term prediction model of bike-sharing demand with the hybrid TCN-GRU method. The emergence of shared bicycles has provided people with a low-carbon, green and healthy way of transportation. However, the explosive growth and free-form development of bike-sharing has also brought about a series of problems in the area of urban governance, creating a new opportunity and challenge in the use of a large amount of historical data for regional bike-sharing traffic flow predictions. In this study, we built an accurate short-term prediction model of bike-sharing demand with the bike-sharing dataset from 2015 to 2017 in London. First, we conducted a multidimensional bike-sharing travel characteristics analysis based on explanatory variables such as weather, temperature, and humidity. This will help us to understand the travel characteristics of local people, will facilitate traffic management and, to a certain extent, improve traffic congestion. Then, the explanatory variables that help predict the demand for bike-sharing were obtained using the Granger causality with the entropy theory-based MIC method to verify each other. The Multivariate Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model were integrated to build the prediction model, and this is abbreviated as the TCN-GRU model. The fitted coefficient of determination R2 and explainable variance score (EVar) of the dataset reached 98.42% and 98.49%, respectively. Meanwhile, the mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE) were at least 1.98% and 2.4% lower than those in other models. The results show that the TCN-GRU model has strong efficiency and robustness. The model can be used to make short-term accurate predictions of bike-sharing demand in the region, so as to provide decision support for intelligent dispatching and urban traffic safety improvement, which will help to promote the development of green and low-carbon mobility in the future.

Research on Classification of Open-Pit Mineral Exploiting Information Based on OOB RFE Feature Optimization

Mineral exploiting information is an important indicator to reflect regional mineral activities. Accurate extraction of this information is essential to mineral management and environmental protection. In recent years, there are an increasingly large number of pieces of research on land surface information classification by conducting multi-source remote sensing data. However, in order to achieve the best classification result, how to select the optimal feature combination is the key issue. This study creatively combines Out of Bag data with Recursive Feature Elimination (OOB RFE) to optimize the feature combination of the mineral exploiting information of non-metallic building materials in Fujian province, China. We acquired and integrated Ziyuan-1-02D (ZY-1-02D) hyperspectral imagery, landsat-8 multispectral imagery, and Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery to gain spectrum, heat, polarization, and texture features; also, two machine learning methods were adopted to classify the mineral exploiting information in our study area. After assessment and comparison on accuracy, it proves that the classification generated from our new OOB RFE method, which combine with random forest (RF), can achieve the highest overall accuracy 93.64% (with a kappa coefficient of 0.926). Comparing with Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) alone, OOB REF can precisely filter the feature combination and lead to optimal result. Under the same feature scheme, RF is effective on classifying the mineral exploiting information of the research field. The feature optimization method and optimal feature combination proposed in our study can provide technical support and theoretical reference for extraction and classification of mineral exploiting information applied in other regions.
