Abstract
Objective This study aims to explore the effects of the Information-Motivation-Behavioral (IMB) Skills Model on the prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in elderly lung cancer patients. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select study participants who were hospitalized for treatment between November 2022 and August 2023 at a tertiary hospital in Neijiang and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The control group (n = 41) received conventional health education, while the intervention group (n = 40) received health education based on the IMB Skills Model over three months. The scores of the Venous Thrombosis Knowledge, Participation in Thrombosis Prevention Willingness and Behavior Questionnaire, and Quality of Life Measurement Scale (QLQ-C30) were compared before the intervention and after three months. After three months of intervention, the hospital satisfaction and VTE incidence rates in both groups were investigated and compared. Results After three months of intervention, the scores for the Venous Thrombosis Knowledge, (Participation in Thrombosis Prevention Willingness and Behavior Questionnaire in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The QLQ-C30 scores in the intervention group for physical function, role function, emotional function, insomnia, appetite loss, and overall health status were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The intervention group rated higher in doctor's professional skills, information provision, accessibility; nurse's professional skills, humanistic care, information provision, accessibility; team communication, services of other personnel, overall satisfaction compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The rate of VTE in the intervention group was 2.5%(1/40), and that in the control group was 19.5%(8/41). There was a significant difference (χ2 = 4.336, P = 0.037). Conclusion Nursing interventions based on the IMB Skills Model for elderly lung cancer patients can enhance patients' understanding of venous thrombosis, increase willingness and active participation in thrombosis prevention, improve quality of life, increase hospital satisfaction, and reduce the incidence of VTE.

Abstract
Cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) is a common complication in lung cancer patients. Lung cancer confers an increased risk of thrombosis compared to other solid malignancies across all stages of the disease. Newer treatment agents, including checkpoint immunotherapy and targeted agents, may further increase the risk of CAT. Different risk-assessment models, such as the Khorana Risk Score, and newer approaches that incorporate genetic risk factors have been used in lung cancer patients to evaluate the risk of thrombosis. The management of CAT is based on the results of large prospective trials, which show similar benefits to low-molecular-weight heparins (LMWHs) and direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in ambulatory patients. The anticoagulation agent and duration of therapy should be personalized according to lung cancer stage and histology, the presence of driver mutations and use of antineoplastic therapy, including recent curative lung surgery, chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Treatment options should be evaluated in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been shown to impact the thrombotic risk in cancer patients. This review focuses on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, novel predictive scores and management of CAT in patients with active lung cancer, with a focus on immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Venous thromboembolism(VTE) is a leading cause of death in patients with lung cancer. Furthermore, hospitalization of patients with advanced lung cancer for VTE treatment represents a major economic burden on the national public health resources. Therefore, we performed this prospective study to identify clinical biomarkers for the early identification of VTE in lung cancer patients. METHODS This prospective study enrolled 158 patients with confirmed lung cancer, including 27 who were diagnosed with VTE within six months of the follow-up after lung cancer diagnosis. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the diagnostic performancese of all the relevant clinical features and laboratory indicators in identifying lung cancer patients with a higher risk of VTE. A novel risk prediction model was constructed consisting of five clinical variables with the best diagnostic performances and was validated using the receiver operation characteristic(ROC) curves. The diagnostic performances of the new risk prediction model was also compared with the Khorana risk score (KRS) and the Padua risk score (PRS). RESULTS The VTE group of lung cancer patients (n = 27) showed significantly higher serum levels of fibrin degradation products (FDP), D-dimer, thrombomodulin (TM), thrombin-antithrombin-complex (TAT), α2-plasmin inhibitor-plasmin Complex (PIC), and tissue plasminogen activator-plasminogen activator inhibitor complex (t-PAIC) compared to those in the non-VTE group (n = 131). ROC curve analyses showed that the diagnostic efficacy of the new VTE risk prediction model with TM ≥ 9.75 TU/ml, TAT ≥ 2.25ng/ml, t-PAIC ≥ 7.35ng/ml, history of VTE, and ECOG PS score ≥ 2 was superior than the KRS and the PRS in the early identification of lung cancer patients with a higher risk of VTE. CONCLUSIONS The new risk prediction model showed significantly high diagnostic efficacy in the early identification of lung cancer patients with a high risk of VTE. The diagnostic efficacy of the new risk prediction model was higher than the KRS and the PRS in this cohort of lung cancer patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES As the second most common subtype of Epithelial ovarian cancers (EOCs), ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is associated with a high rate of cancer-associated thrombosis. Previous studies revealed the wide range prevalence (6-42%) of venous thromboembolism (VTE) among OCCC patients. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of VTE among OCCC patients as well as factors affecting it. METHODS PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched up to December 12th, 2022. Studies reporting venous thromboembolic events in women with clear cell carcinoma of the ovary were included. Demographic data, clinical, and paraclinical features of the patients were independently extracted by two reviewers. RESULTS Out of the 2254 records, 43 studies were processed for final review. The qualified studies involved 573 VTE cases among 2965 patients with OCCC. The pooled prevalence of VTE among OCCC patients was 21.32% (95%CI=(17.38-25.87)). Most VTE events were reported in Japanese women (26.15%), followed by Americans (24.41%) and UK (21.57%), and Chinese (13.61%) women. VTE was more common in patients with advanced stages (37.79%) compared to those with early stages of the disease (16.54%). CONCLUSIONS Ovarian clear cell carcinoma is associated with a high rate of cancer-associated thrombosis. VTE events in OCCC patients were higher in advanced stages and Japanese women.

Abstract
Background: During pregnancy, the risk of venous thrombo-embolism (VTE) is increased at least five times compared with non-pregnant women of the same age, while the relative risk in the postpartum period can be as high as sixty times. The aim of the study was to explore the impact of pregnancy-related VTE on patients' mental, professional, social and personal life. Methods and Materials: Cross-sectional study at Jordan University Hospital's Obstetrics Department. Results: There were 112 women. Forty-six (41.1%) had a postpartum VTE. Twenty-eight of the patients (25%) had comorbidity. Eleven (9.9%) had a previous episode of VTE. Thirty-nine (35%) of the women reported three or more hospital visits over the past six months. Twenty-one (19.6%) of the women answered that their leg or chest pain has impeded their social activities. Anxiety/Depression was reported by 96.43% while Pain/Discomfort by 73.21%. A significant reduction of time spent on their work (correlation = 0.663, significant at <0.01) and accomplishing less work (correlation = 0.787, this was significant at <0.01) was found; 57.14% of patients indicated that VTE affecting their future pregnancies; 58.9% of patients were receiving anticoagulants with the most commonly used drug was aspirin. Twenty-four (36.4%) of the women were on multiple anticoagulant therapies. Twenty-five of the patients receiving medications do not monitor their medications and 20 patients said that monitoring the drug level was a bother to them. Conclusions: Pregnancy-related VTE had a significant adverse impact on physical, mental and professional life of women. It also had negative effects on future pregnancy plans.
