Abstract
As a single matrilineal gene, human mitochondrial DNA plays a very important role in the study of population genetics. The whole mitogenome sequences of 287 individuals of the Tai-Kadai-speaking population in Guizhou were obtained. It was discovered that there were 82, 104, and 94 haplotypes in 83 Bouyei individuals, 107 Dong individuals, and 97 Sui individuals, respectively; and the haplotype diversity in Bouyei, Dong, and Sui groups was 1.000 ± 0.02, 0.9993 ± 0.0015, and 0.999 ± 0.002, respectively. The result of neutrality tests of the Tai-Kadai-speaking population in Guizhou showed significant negative values, and the analysis of mismatch distribution showed an obvious unimodal distribution. The results implied that Guizhou Tai-Kadai-speaking populations had high genetic diversities and may have experienced recent population expansion. In addition, the primary haplogroups of studied populations were M*, F, B, D, and R*, implying that they may origin from Southern China. The matrilineal genetic structure of the Tai-Kadai-speaking populations in Guizhou was analyzed by merging the mitogenome data of 79 worldwide populations as reference data. The results showed that there were close relationships between studied populations and other Tai-Kadai as well as some Austronesian populations in East and Southeast Asia. Overall, the mitogenome data generated in this study will provide important data for the study of genetic structure of Tai-Kadai speaking populations.

Abstract
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), coupled with maternal inheritance and relatively high mutation rates, provides a pivotal way for us to investigate the formation histories of populations. The Hui minority with Islamic faith is one of the most widely distributed ethnic groups in China. However, the exploration of Hui's genetic architecture from the complete mitochondrial genome perspective has not been detected yet. Therefore, in this study, we employed the complete mitochondrial genomes of 98 healthy and unrelated individuals from Northwest China, as well as 99 previously published populations containing 7274 individuals from all over the world as reference data, to comprehensively dissect the matrilineal landscape of Hui group. Our results demonstrated that Hui group exhibited closer genetic relationships with Chinese Han populations from different regions, which was largely attributable to the widespread of haplogroups D4, D5, M7, B4, and F1 in these populations. The demographic expansion of Hui group might occur during the Late Pleistocene. Finally, we also found that Hui group might have gene exchanges with Uygur, Tibetan, and Tajik groups in different degrees and retained minor genetic imprint of European-specific lineages, therefore, hinting the existence of multi-ethnic integration events in shaping the genetic landscape of Chinese Hui group.

Abstract
In this study, to better our understanding of the current state of conservation of Cardisoma guanhumi and its habitats, we evaluated the potential spatio-temporal genomic damage of this species across five estuaries in Brazil. The experiment was performed over two consecutive years, and the sampling was performed in the winter and summer seasons. Two genetic tests - micronucleus test and comet assay - were used to quantify the DNA damage. Unlike in the summers and in the winter of 2013, in the winter of 2012 a significant increase was noted in the frequency of micronucleated cells and genomic damage index. The occurrence of genomic damage coincided with the arrival of the harsh winter of 2012 as the water sourced from the coastal rivers significantly affected the estuarine species under study. Our results confirmed that this species was resilient to the atypical climatic conditions, which facilitated the generation of excessive waste.

Abstract
Aim The objective of this research was to determine the species and strains of Leucocytozoon caulleryi and study the phylogenetics of L. caulleryi of broiler chickens in endemic areas in Indonesia. Materials and Methods Blood samples were collected from broiler chickens originated from endemic area in Indonesia, i.e., Pasuruan, Lamongan, Blitar, Lumajang, Boyolali, Purwokerto, and Banjarmasin in 2017. Collected blood was used for microscopic examination, sequencing using BLAST method to identify the nucleotide structure of cytochrome b (cyt b) gene that determines the species, and the phylogenetics analysis of L. caulleryi that infected broiler chickens in endemic areas in Indonesia, using Mega 5 software. Results The results showed that Plasmodium sp. and L. caulleryi were infected broiler chickens in endemic areas in Indonesia. L. caulleryi in one area had very close phylogenetic relations with those in other areas. The genetic distance between L. caulleryi taxa from various endemic areas is very close (<5%). Conclusion There is a very close phylogenetics among strains of L. caulleryi that infected broiler chickens in various endemic areas in Indonesia.
