Abstract
PURPOSE Identification of drainage vessels is useful for differential diagnosis of hepatic tumors. Direct drainage to the hepatic vein has been reported to occur in focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH), but studies evaluating the drainage veins of FNH are limited. We aimed to investigate the detection rate of the FNH drainage vein and the factors related to visualization of the drainage vein on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). METHODS Fifty consecutive patients with 50 FNH lesions were retrospectively evaluated in this study. We calculated and compared the detection rate of the FNH drainage vein on CEUS, contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (CEMRI), and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT), and identified the factors correlated with visualization of the FNH drainage vein on CEUS by using multivariate logistic regression analyses. RESULTS Visualization of the drainage vein was confirmed in 31 of 50 lesions (62%) using CEUS, three of 44 lesions (6.8%) using CEMRI, and one of 18 lesions (5.6%) using CECT. The detection rate of the FNH drainage vein on CEUS was significantly higher than that on CEMRI and CECT (p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis identified lesion size (≥ 25 mm) and detection of the spoke-wheel pattern on Doppler US as independent factors for drainage vein detection in FNH. CONCLUSION Our study showed that rapid FNH drainage to the hepatic vein was observed at a relatively high rate on CEUS, suggesting that CEUS focusing on detection of drainage veins is important for diagnosing FNH.

Abstract
The trajectory from the clinical identification of a benign liver mass to establishing a precise diagnosis is perplexing and arduous. Related contributory factors are that such lesions are encountered infrequently and that there is a nonavailability of dedicated paediatric radiologists in the developing world. The objective of this study was to review the spectrum of benign liver lesions in children and their typical imaging features. Cross-sectional imaging of all paediatric patients (< 18 years) with liver lesions (single and multiple) performed in the institute from 01 January 2018 to 01 January 2019 as well as those acquired at outside institutions and referred to the institute for management was included. Ultrasound was done as the first line of investigation in all the cases with suspicious liver masses and retrospectively performed in referral cases in whom CT or MRI was already done. Images were analysed by two senior radiologists. Most of the cases were diagnosed based on clinical, biochemical and imaging findings, and biopsy was only performed in equivocal cases. Most of the benign liver lesions in the paediatric age group were hepatic haemangioma and mesenchymal hamartomas. A simplified clinical-radiologic paradigm should be established for benign liver lesions in children to assist in reaching the correct diagnosis. Contribution The article demonstrates the salient radiological findings of various benign liver lesions in the paediatric age group and the role of demographic, clinical and biochemical findings, which plays a substantial role in the diagnosis and avoids unnecessary biopsies.

Abstract
Current understanding and classification of pediatric hepatocellular adenomas (HCA) are largely based on adult data. HCAs are rare in children and, unlike in adults, are often seen in the context of syndromes or abnormal background liver. Attempts to apply the adult classification to pediatric tumors have led to several "unclassifiable" lesions. Although typically considered benign, few can show atypical features and those with beta-catenin mutations have a risk for malignant transformation. Small lesions can be monitored while larger (>5.0 cm) lesions are excised due to symptoms or risk of bleeding/rupture, etc. Management depends on gender, age, underlying liver disease, multifocality, size of lesion, histologic subtype and presence of mutation, if any. In this review, we summarize the data on pediatric HCAs and highlight our experience with their diagnosis and management.

Abstract
The liver is the third most common site of abdominal tumors in children. This review article aims to summarize current evidence surrounding identification and diagnosis of primary hepatic tumors in the pediatric population based upon clinical presentation, epidemiology, and risk factors as well as classical imaging, histopathological, and molecular diagnostic findings. Readers will be able to recognize the features and distinguish between benign and malignant hepatic tumors within different age groups.

Abstract
Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) is a rare benign tumor-like space-occupying lesion of the liver that is especially rare in children. Since there have been no reports of malignant progression of this disease and these lesions remain unchanged for a long period of time or even disappear in some cases, it remains controversial whether clinical treatment is needed. However, if the diagnosis is unclear, the patient has symptoms or the lesion becomes enlarged during follow-up, clinical treatment should be considered. Here, we report the first case of FNH near the gallbladder treated by ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) in a 9-year-old girl.

Abstract
Hepatocellular adenoma is a rare benign liver tumor. Predisposing factors include hepatic storage diseases and some genetic conditions. A new histology-based classification has been proposed but to date, the corresponding ultrasound imaging features have not been reported. Here we review the new classification scheme and discuss the corresponding features on contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate prospectively the performance of combining morphological and arterial spin labelling (ASL) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for detecting pseudocapsule defects in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and to predict renal capsule invasion confirmed histopathologically. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty consecutive patients with suspicious renal tumours underwent MRI. Renal ASL imaging was performed and renal blood flow was measured quantitatively. The diagnostic performance of T2-weighted images alone, and a combination of T2-weighted and ASL images for predicting renal capsule invasion were assessed. RESULTS Twenty renal lesions were evaluated in 20 patients. All lesions were clear cell RCCs (ccRCCs) confirmed at post-surgical histopathology. Fifteen ccRCCs showed pseudocapsule defects on T2-weighted images, of which 12 cases showed existing blood flow in defect areas on perfusion images. To predict renal capsule invasion, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were 100%, 71.4%, 86.7%, 100%, respectively, for T2-weighted images alone, and 92.3%, 100%, 100%, 87.5%, respectively, for the combination of T2-weighted and ASL images. CONCLUSION ASL images can reflect the perfusion of pseudocapsule defects and as such, the combination of T2-weighted and ASL images produces promising diagnostic accuracy for predicting renal capsule invasion.

Abstract
Benign hepatic tumors are commonly observed in adults, but rarely reported in children. The reasons for this remain speculative and the exact data concerning the incidence of these lesions are lacking. Benign hepatic tumors represent a diverse group of epithelial and mesenchymal tumors. In pediatric patients, most benign focal liver lesions are inborn and may grow like the rest of the body. Knowledge of pediatric liver diseases and their imaging appearances is essential in order to make an appropriate differential diagnosis. Selection of the appropriate imaging test is challenging, since it depends on a number of age-related factors. This paper will discuss the most frequently encountered benign liver tumors in children (infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma, mesenchymal hamartoma, focal nodular hyperplasia, nodular regenerative hyperplasia, and hepatocellular adenoma), as well as a comparison to the current knowledge regarding such tumors in adult patients. The current emphasis is on imaging features, which are helpful not only for the initial diagnosis, but also for pre- and post-treatment evaluation and follow-up. In addition, future perspectives of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in pediatric patients are highlighted, with descriptions of enhancement patterns for each lesion being discussed. The role of advanced imaging tests such as CEUS and magnetic resonance imaging, which allow for non-invasive assessment of liver tumors, is of utmost importance in pediatric patients, especially when repeated imaging tests are needed and radiation exposure should be avoided.

Abstract
Benign liver tumours are uncommon in children, haemangiomas being the most frequent. Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) represents about 2% of paediatric liver tumours. In children, as in adults, a conservative approach is generally recommended. However, large lesions (greater than 5 cm) are more frequent in the paediatric age group, and in these cases, as well as in growing lesions, surgical removal may be advised. Transarterial embolisation (TAE) has been a successful alternative option described in older patients, especially in cases where surgical removal is not possible. This minimally invasive procedure may also become an option in the paediatric group. The authors report the case of a boy with a large FNH treated with TAE using microspheres.
