Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease of the brain due to degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN). Glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK-3β) is implicated in the pathogenesis of PD. Therefore, the purpose of the present review was to revise the mechanistic role of GSK-3β in PD neuropathology, and how GSK-3β inhibitors affect PD neuropathology. GSK-3 is a conserved threonine/serine kinase protein that is intricate in the regulation of cellular anabolic and catabolic pathways by modulating glycogen synthase. Over-expression of GSK-3β is also interconnected with the development of different neurodegenerative diseases. However, the underlying mechanism of GSK-3β in PD neuropathology is not fully clarified. Over-expression of GSK-3β induces the development of PD by triggering mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress in the dopaminergic neurons of the SN. NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome are activated in response to dysregulated GSK-3β in PD leading to progressive neuronal injury. Higher expression of GSK-3β in the early stages of PD neuropathology might contribute to the reduction of neuroprotective brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Thus, GSK-3β inhibitors may be effective in PD by reducing inflammatory and oxidative stress disorders which are associated with degeneration of dopaminergic in the SN.

Abstract
The ketogenic diet (KD) is a low-carbohydrate, adequate protein and high-fat diet. KD is primarily used to treat refractory epilepsy. KD was shown to be effective in treating different neurodegenerative diseases. Alzheimer disease (AD) is the first common neurodegenerative disease in the world characterized by memory and cognitive impairment. However, the underlying mechanism of KD in controlling of AD and other neurodegenerative diseases are not discussed widely. Therefore, this review aims to revise the fundamental mechanism of KD in different neurodegenerative diseases focusing on the AD. KD induces a fasting-like which modulates the central and peripheral metabolism by regulating mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, inflammation, gut-flora, and autophagy in different neurodegenerative diseases. Different studies highlighted that KD improves AD neuropathology by regulating synaptic neurotransmission and inhibiting of neuroinflammation and oxidative stress. In conclusion, KD improves cognitive function and attenuates the progression of AD neuropathology by reducing oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and enhancing neuronal autophagy and brain BDNF.

Abstract
Intestinal mucositis (IM) is a common side effect of several anticancer medications, including 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and can lead to treatment disruptions and compromised outcomes. IM has severe clinical effects such as diarrhea, erythematous mucosal lesions, and the development of ulcers accompanied by excruciating pain. This study aimed to evaluate the mucoprotective effects of ellagic acid on 5-FU-induced IM in mice. Mice were administered normal saline intraperitoneally for six days, followed by intraperitoneal injection of 5-FU for four days at a dose of 50 mg per kilogram. Ellagic acid was orally administered to the mice in groups III and IV in two doses (5 mg and 10 mg), with a one-hour time separation from 5-FU for ten days. At the end of the experiment, small intestine tissue was collected to measure the levels of antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-B, TNF) using ELISA assay. Pre-treatment with ellagic acid led to a significant decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines and improved antioxidant enzyme levels compared to the 5-FU group. Histopathological analysis demonstrated the mucoprotective effect of ellagic acid against 5-FU-induced intestinal changes, including villi atrophy, damage to stem cells, infiltration of inflammatory cells in the mucosal layer, edema, damage to muscular mucosa, and decreased oxidative stress production, such as MDA. These results suggest that ellagic acid may be a potential candidate for treating IM induced by antineoplastic drugs.

Abstract
Cancer is a major public health problem, and chemotherapy plays a significant role in the management of neoplastic diseases. However, chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity is a serious side effect secondary to cardiac damage caused by antineoplastic's direct and indirect toxicity. Currently, there are no reliable and approved methods for preventing or treating chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity. Understanding the mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity may be vital to improving survival. The independent risk factors for developing cardiotoxicity must be considered to prevent myocardial damage without decreasing the therapeutic efficacy of cancer treatment. This systematic review aimed to identify and analyze the evidence on chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity, associated risk factors, and methods to decrease or prevent it. We conducted a comprehensive search on PubMed, Google Scholar, and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) using the following keywords: "doxorubicin cardiotoxicity", "anthracycline cardiotoxicity", "chemotherapy", "digoxin decrease cardiotoxicity", "ATG7 activators", retrieving 59 articles fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Therapeutic schemes can be changed by choosing prolonged infusion application over boluses. In addition, some agents like Dexrazoxane can reduce chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity in high-risk groups. Recent research found that Digoxin, ATG7 activators, Resveratrol, and other medical substances or herbal compounds have a comparable effect on Dexrazoxane in anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity.

Abstract
Background: Needle stick injuries are serious occupational hazards in the transmission of a variety of bloodborne diseases, more than twenty pathogens can be transmitted through NSI including hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, and human immunodeficiency virus (AIDS) among healthcare workers.
Objectives: Assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of health care workers towards needle stick injuries. Determine the prevalence of needle stick injuries among healthcare workers and its predisposing factors.
Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, a convenient sample of 260 health care workers was selected from Baghdad Teaching hospital and Ghazy Al Hariri hospital in Baghdad, Iraq. Data were collected by an anonymous questionnaire from January to June 2020. The collected data were analyzed by using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS version 23).
Results Prevalence of NSIs among HCWs was found to be 53.8%, which was higher in nurses (29.3%) and laboratory technicians (28.5%) followed by surgeon doctors (15.7%), assistant surgeons (13.6%) and dentists (12.9%) .The highest number of needle stick injuries occurred by recapping of needles (41.4%) followed by during drug administration (27.9%), from hand to hand (10.7%) and during blood drawing (7.9%). A proportion of (64.5%) of health care workers whom sustained needle stick injury had reported their Injury. Doctors scored better than others regarding mean scores of knowledge, attitude and practice. There was a highly significant association among knowledge, attitude and practice scores of the HCWs (P<0.001). A considerable percentage of the participants (80.2%) were completely immunized against HBV.
Conclusions: The study showed a high prevalence of NSIs among health care workers. The score of knowledge was high, moreover acceptable responses were obtained in most attitude and practice statements, except for recapping of needles statements.
