Abstract
Objective The current research was designed to explore the relationship between the lipid accumulation index (LAP), coronary artery disease (CAD), and the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index in patient with H-type hypertension. Methods From June 2021 to January 2022, our hospital's information management system collected data on 186 patients with essential hypertension. The participants were categorized into two groups (H-type hypertension (n = 113) and non-H-type hypertension (n = 73)) based on their homocysteine levels. Both groups' general condition, lipid accumulation index, triglyceride-glucose index, and Gensini score were compared to determine the factors influencing the severity of CAD in H-type hypertension patients. Results There were statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) in homocysteine (Hcy, GLP-1 and SAA) level, LAP, and TyG indexes, but not in body mass index (BMI), smoking, sex, age, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), diastolic blood pressure, and systolic blood pressure. Additionally, there were substantial variations between the two groups regarding the number of lesion branches, degree of stenosis, and Gensini score (P > 0.05). patient with grade III to IV lesions had substantially higher LAP and TyG indices than those with stage I to II (P < 0.05). TyG (OR = 2.687) and TyG-LAP (OR = 4.512) were the factors determining the incidence of coronary artery disease in H-type hypertension, according to multivariate logistic regression analysis. The lesion number, stenosis degree, and Gensini score (P < 0.05) varied among both groups. LAP and TyG indexes were substantially greater in patients with double and triple vessel lesions than in those without lesions or with single vessel lesions (P < 0.05); similarly, these two indexes were considerably higher in individuals with grade III to IV lesions than in patients with grade I to II lesions (P < 0.05). As per the Pearson correlation analysis, the LAP, TyG indices and SAAlevel were adversely connected to the Gensini score (r = 0.254, 0.262, 0.299, P < 0.05), the GLP-1 level was negatively correlated to the Gensini score (r = -0.291, P < 0.05). TyG (OR = 2.687) and TyG-LAP (OR = 4.512) were the factors determining the frequency of coronary artery disease in H-type hypertension, according to multivariate logistic regression analysis. Conclusion In conclusion, the LAP and TyG indexes were observed to be closely related to the degree of CAD in H-type individuals with hypertension, which can better understand the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease in patients with H-type hypertension and is of great significance for guiding clinical doctors to carry out personalized treatment and management.

Abstract
Objective: This is the first study to explore the mechanism of colchicine in treating coronary artery disease using network pharmacology and molecular docking technology, aiming to predict the key targets and main approaches of colchicine in treating coronary artery disease. It is expected to provide new ideas for research on disease mechanism and drug development. Methods: Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP), Swiss Target Prediction and PharmMapper databases were used to obtain drug targets. GeneCards, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), Therapeutic Target Database (TTD), DrugBank and DisGeNET databases were utilized to gain disease targets. The intersection of the two was taken to access the intersection targets of colchicine for the treatment of coronary artery disease. The Sting database was employed to analyze the protein-protein interaction network. Gene Ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis was performed using Webgestalt database. Reactom database was applied for Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis. Molecular docking was simulated using AutoDock 4.2.6 and PyMOL2.4 software. Results: A total of 70 intersecting targets of colchicine for the treatment of coronary artery disease were obtained, and there were interactions among 50 targets. GO functional enrichment analysis yielded 13 biological processes, 18 cellular components and 16 molecular functions. 549 signaling pathways were obtained by KEGG enrichment analysis. The molecular docking results of key targets were generally good. Conclusion: Colchicine may treat coronary artery disease through targets such as Cytochrome c (CYCS), Myeloperoxidase (MPO) and Histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1). The mechanism of action may be related to the cellular response to chemical stimulus and p75NTR-mediated negative regulation of cell cycle by SC1, which is valuable for further research exploration. However, this research still needs to be verified by experiments. Future research will explore new drugs for treating coronary artery disease from these targets.

Abstract
Neutrophils play a role in cardiovascular (CV) disease. However, relatively scant evidence exists in the setting of peripheral artery disease (PAD). The aims of this study were to measure biomarkers of neutrophil activation in patients with symptomatic chronic PAD compared with healthy controls, to assess their association with PAD severity, and to evaluate their prognostic value in patients with PAD. The following circulating markers of neutrophil degranulation were tested: polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) elastase, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), and myeloperoxidase (MPO). Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) were quantified by measuring circulating MPO–DNA complexes. Patients with PAD underwent a comprehensive series of vascular tests. The occurrence of 6-month major adverse CV (MACE) and limb events (MALE) was assessed. Overall, 110 participants were included, 66 of which had PAD. After adjustment for conventional CV risk factors, PMN-elastase (adjusted odds ratio [OR]: 1.008; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.002–1.015; p = 0.006), NGAL (adjusted OR: 1.045; 95%CI: 1.024–1.066; p < 0.001), and MPO (adjusted OR: 1.013; 95%CI: 1.001–1.024; p = 0.028) were significantly associated with PAD presence. PMN-elastase (adjusted hazard ratio [HR]: 1.010; 95%CI: 1.000–1.020; p = 0.040) and MPO (adjusted HR: 1.027; 95%CI: 1.004–1.051; p = 0.019) were predictive of 6-month MACE and/or MALE. MPO displayed fair prognostic performance on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.74 (95%CI: 0.56–0.91) and a sensitivity and specificity of 0.80 and 0.65, respectively, for a cut-off of 108.37 ng/mL. MPO–DNA showed a weak inverse correlation with transcutaneous oximetry (TcPO2) on proximal foot (adjusted ρ −0.287; p = 0.032). In conclusion, in patients with symptomatic chronic PAD, enhanced neutrophil activity may be associated with an increased risk of acute CV events, rather than correlate with disease severity. Further research is needed to clarify the role of neutrophils in PAD natural history.

Abstract
In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to the role of neutrophils in cardiovascular (CV) disease (CVD) with evidence supporting their role in the initiation, progression, and rupture of atherosclerotic plaque. Although these cells have long been considered as terminally differentiated cells with a relatively limited spectrum of action, recent research has revealed intriguing novel cellular functions, including neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) generation and inflammasome activation, which have been linked to several human diseases, including CVD. While most research to date has focused on the role of neutrophils in coronary artery and cerebrovascular diseases, much less information is available on lower limb peripheral artery disease (PAD). PAD is a widespread condition associated with great morbidity and mortality, though physician and patient awareness of the disease remains low. To date, several studies have produced some evidence on the role of certain biomarkers of neutrophil activation in this clinical setting. However, the etiopathogenetic role of neutrophils, and in particular of some of the newly discovered mechanisms, has yet to be fully elucidated. In the future, complementary assessment of neutrophil activity should improve CV risk stratification and provide personalized treatments to patients with PAD. This review aims to summarize the basic principles and recent advances in the understanding of neutrophil biology, current knowledge about the role of neutrophils in atherosclerosis, as well as available evidence on their role of PAD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The recovery from cardiac surgery involves resolving inflammation and remodeling with significant connective tissue turnover. Dynamics of smoldering inflammation and injury (white blood cells, platelets, CRP, IL-8, IL-6), vascular inflammation (IL-15, VEGF, RANTES), connective tissue remodeling (tenascin, MMP-9), cardiac injury and remodeling (YKL-40), and vascular remodeling (epiregulin, MCP-1, VEGF) were assessed up to 3 months after cardiac surgery. We hypothesize that at 3 months, studied markers will return to pre-surgical levels. METHODS Patients (n = 139) scheduled for non-emergent heart surgery were included, except for patients with pre-existing immunological aberrancies. Blood was collected before surgery(tbaseline), 24 h later(t24h) after the first sample, 7 days(t7d), and 3 months(t3m) after tbaseline. Serum markers were measured via multiplex or ELISA. Electronic medical records (EMR) were used to extract demographical, pre-existing conditions and clinical data. Disposition (discharge home, discharge to facility, death, re-admission) was determined at 28 days and 3 months from admission. RESULTS Not all inflammatory markers returned to baseline (CRP↑↑, leukocytosis, thrombocytosis, IL-8↓, IL-6↓). Tenascin and YKL-40 levels remained elevated even at t3m. YKL-40 serum levels were significantly elevated at t24h and t7d while normalized at t3m. VEGF returned to the baseline, yet MCP-1 remained elevated at 3 months. CCL28 increased at 3 months, while RANTES and IL-15 declined at the same time. Disposition at discharge was determined by serum MMP-9, while YKL-40 correlated with duration of surgery and APACHE II24h. CONCLUSIONS The data demonstrated an ongoing extracellular matrix turnover at 3 months, while acute inflammation and vascular remodeling resolved only partially.

Abstract
Background Currently, there are few studies on biomarkers for predicting coronary heart disease (CHD) with anxiety disorders. Objective To explore risk factors and investigate the predictive value of common clinical peripheral blood indicators, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and homocysteine (Hcy) for CHD patients with anxiety disorders. Methods One hundred fifty-three hospitalized patients with chest pain as the main symptom and a Hamilton Anxiety Scale score > 14 were recruited from October 2020 to September 2021 in the hospital. Then, they were divided into an anxiety disorder with CHD group (observation group, n = 64) and a simple anxiety disorder group (control group, n = 89), according to coronary angiography (CAG) findings. Patients' demographic and clinical messages were collected and compared. Diabetes mellitus and hypertension, body mass index (BMI), and peripheral blood interleukin-6 (IL-6), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), homocysteine (Hcy), fibrinogen, D-dimer, cortisol, and norepinephrine expression levels were compared. Binary logistic regression analysis screened independent risk factors of CHD patients with anxiety disorders. The effectiveness of independent risk factors in predicting CHD with anxiety disorders was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results IL-6, hs-CRP, and Hcy levels of anxiety disorder in the CHD group were significantly higher than those in the simple anxiety disorder group. Binary multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that IL-6, hs-CRP, and Hcy were independent risk factors for CHD in patients with anxiety disorders. hs-CRP and Hcy levels were positively correlated with the Gensini score. ROC curve analysis indicated that the detection of hs-CRP or Hcy alone or the combined detection of the 2 had clinical predictive value for CHD in patients with anxiety disorders, and the area under the curve (AUC) of the combined detection of the 2 was significantly larger than that of any single factor alone (vs. hs-CRP, P = 0.045; vs. Hcy, P = 0.045). Conclusion IL-6, hs-CRP, and Hcy are related to CHD with anxiety disorders. Serum levels of the combined detection of hs-CRP and Hcy have a high clinical predictive value for CHD in patients with anxiety disorders.
