Abstract
A novel class of biologically active compound 2,7-dihydro-3 H-pyridazino[3′,4′:4,5]indolo[3,2- c]quinoline-3,13(12 H)-dione (10a–b)has been achieved efficiently and quickly under solvent free conditions in an open vessel microwave system. The multi step one pot synthesis involved the reaction of 8,9,10,11-tetrahydro-6 H-indolo[3,2- c]quinoline-6,7(5 H)-dione (6a–d) and glyoxylic acid monohydrate followed by cyclocondensation with hydrazine hydrate under microwave irradiation. The synthesis of 8,9,10,11-tetrahydro-6 H-indolo[3,2- c]quinoline-6,7(5 H)-dione(6a–d) has also been described from the reaction of (2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinolin-4-yl)hydrazine with 1,3-cyclohexanedione in the absence of any solvent/catalyst/strong acid or solid support using microwaves.

Abstract
A simple and efficient protocol has been developed for the direct synthesis of γ-nitrobutyric acid methyl esters under microwave irradiation. This methodology reduces reaction times from days to minutes, compared to conventional conditions. Additionally, these conditions increased yields and provided cleaner reactions.

Abstract
1,3,5-Triazine derivatives were screened for phototoxicity as well as the cytotoxic activities against leukemia and adenocarcinoma derived cell lines in comparison to the normal human keratinocytes. A simple and environmentally friendly procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1,3,5-triazine derivatives under microwave irradiation in the presence of a HY zeolite. The catalyst can be recovered and reused. Thus, the procedure provides a simple and green synthetic methodology under environmentally friendly conditions. Structure-activity relationships between the chemical structures and antimycobacterial and photosynthesis-inhibiting activity of the evaluated compounds are also discussed.

Abstract
3-Unsubstituted 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one containing F and CF(3) substituent in ring is important pharmacological and synthetic target and basic synthones for a number of antibacterial fluoroquinolones and is promising potent and selective glycine site NMDA receptors. A simple facile one-step microwave enhanced multigram synthesis of such fluorinated quinolones in reasonable purity has been developed in excellent yield (85-94%) in 3-5 min, whereas conventional synthesis required the harsh conditions, long reaction period with use of environmentally unacceptable regents giving the required product in lower yield. The phototoxicity as well as the cytotoxic activities of the title compounds are evaluated against leukemia- and adenocarcinoma-derived cell lines in comparison to the normal human keratinocytes. Structure-activity relationships between the chemical structures and the antimycobacterial, antifungal activity of the evaluated compounds are also discussed.

Abstract
Cyclization reactions of lapachol (1) isolated from Heterophragma adenophyllum have been studied under microwave irradiation under different conditions using alumina (acidic, basic and neutral)/silica gel/montmorillonite (KSF and K-10) as solid support along with neat reaction using 2-3 drops of DMF giving naturally occurring dehydro-alpha-lapachone (2), alpha-lapachone (3), beta-lapachone (4) depending upon the nature of support and irradiation time. A novel naphthoquinone derivative adenophyllone (5) can be synthesized from lapachol using DMF under microwaves.

Abstract
A microwave-assisted three-component, regioselective one-pot cyclocondensation method has been developed for the synthesis of a series of novel spiro[indole-thiazolidinones] (6a-l) using an environmentally benign procedure at atmospheric pressure in open vessel. This rapid method produces pure products in high yields within few minutes in comparison to a conventional two-step procedure. The crystal structure of one representative compound has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The synthesized compounds have been screened 'in vitro' for antifungal activity against Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Collectotrichum capsici. All compounds have shown good activity against these pathogens.

Abstract
A facile, dry media procedure has been developed for the synthesis of a series of a new class of fluorine containing 3-alkyl-7-chloro-11a,12-dihydro-11-phenyl-12-(substituted aryl)-11H-benzopyrano[4,3-e][1,2,4]-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]-thiadiazepines (4a-k) under microwaves using basic alumina as solid support. The reaction time has been brought down from hours (60-65 h) to minutes (3-5 min) with improved yield as compared to conventional method, demonstrating the versatility of the process. The method reported herein is devoid of the hazards of solution-phase reactions. The synthesized compounds have been screened 'in vitro' for anti-fungal activity against Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Collectotrichum capsici. Most of the compounds have shown good activity against these pathogens.
