Abstract
BACKGROUND Epidemiological studies regarding the correlation between anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and insulin resistance (IR) in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) remain inconsistent. The primary aim of this study was to determine the correlations between AMH and IR in patients with PCOS and to explore the selected factors that influence the correlations. METHODS We conducted systemic searches of online databases (PubMed, Science Direct, Taylor and Francis, Scopus, and ProQuest) from inception to December 20, 2023 and manual searches of the associated bibliographies to identify relevant studies. We then performed subgroup and sensitivity analyses to explore the sources of heterogeneity, followed by a publication bias risk assessment of the included studies using the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tool. We used a random-effects model to estimate the pooled correlations between AMH and the homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). RESULTS Of the 4835 articles identified, 22 eligible relevant studies from three regions were included and identified as low risk of bias. The random-effects pooled correlation estimate was 0.089 (95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.040, 0.215), with substantial heterogeneity (I2 = 87%; τ2 = 0.0475, p < .001). Subgroup analyses showed that the study region did not influence the correlation estimates, and sensitivity analysis showed no significant alteration in the pooled correlation estimate or 95% CI values. No publication bias was observed. CONCLUSION There was a weak, statistically insignificant correlation between AMH and HOMA-IR in patients with PCOS. The correlation estimates did not vary according to the study participants' regions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To summarise the relationship between Anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) levels and cardiometabolic status in different populations. METHODS PubMed, Scopus, and Embase were searched for retrieving observational studies published up to February 2022 investigating the relationship between AMH level and cardiometabolic status. RESULTS Of 3,643 studies retrieved from databases, a total of 37 observational studies were included in this review. The majority of the included studies revealed an inverse association between AMH and lipid profiles, including triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and a positive correlation with high-density lipoprotein (HDL). While some studies have revealed a significant inverse association between AMH and glycemic parameters, including fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin, and HOMA-IR, others found no such relationships. There is also an inconsistency among studies regarding the association of AMH with adiposity indices and blood pressure. Evidence indicates a significant association between AMH and some vascular markers, such as intima-media thickness and coronary artery calcification. Of 3 studies evaluating the relationship between AMH and cardiovascular events, two studies showed an inverse relationship between AMH levels and cardiovascular (CVD), whereas another study showed no significant association. CONCLUSIONS The results of this systematic review suggest that serum AMH levels can be associated with CVD risk. This may provide new insight into the use of AMH concentrations as a predictive marker for assessing the risk of cardiovascular disease, although more well-design longitudinal studies are still necessary for this area. Future studies on this topic will hopefully provide an opportunity to run a meta-analysis; it will increase the persuasiveness of this interpretation.

Abstract
Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is one of the direct indicators of follicular pool but no standard cutoff has been defined for diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The present study evaluated the serum AMH levels among different PCOS phenotypes and correlated the AMH levels with clinical, hormonal, and metabolic parameters among Indian PCOS women. Mean serum AMH was 12.39 ± 5.3ng/mL in PCOS cohort and 3.83 ± 1.5 ng/mL in non-PCOS cohort (P < 0.01). Out of 608 PCOS women, 273 (44.9%) women belonged to phenotype A, 230 (37.8%) women were phenotype D. Phenotypes C and B were 12.17% and 5.10% respectively. Among those with the highest AMH group (AMH>20ng/ml; 8.05%), majority belonged to phenotype A. Menstrual cycle length, serum testosterone, fasting total cholesterol levels, and follicle number per ovary had positive correlation with serum anti-Mullerian levels (P < 0.05). AMH cutoff for the diagnosis of PCOS was calculated as ≥ 6.06 ng/mL on ROC analysis with sensitivity and specificity of 91.45% and 90.71% respectively. The study shows high serum AMH levels in PCOS are associated with worse clinical, endocrinological, and metabolic parameters. These levels may be used to counsel patients regarding treatment response, help in individualized management and prediction of reproductive and long-term metabolic outcomes.

Abstract
We investigated selected pro/antioxidant parameters in a group of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) divided according to age, body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (Quicki). We chose oxidized low-density lipoproteins (oxLDL-C) as a marker of oxidative stress and the ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP) as a marker of antioxidant status. In women with PCOS, the values of BMI, WHR, age and concentration of glucose significantly affected oxLDL-C concentration and FRAP values. FRAP correlated with oxLDL-C level in the whole group and in women who were insulin sensitive (HOMA-IR < 2.0). There was a negative relationship between the concentration of Anti-Müllerian hormone and both oxLDL-C and FRAP. Furthermore, the value of FRAP was inversely correlated with luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and androstenedione, whereas it was positively correlated with the LH/FSH ratio. The concentration of oxLDL and the value of FRAP are significantly associated with selected metabolic and hormonal parameters in the course of PCOS.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Both obesity and diabetes play a significant role in reproductive disorders in women and insulin resistance (IR) is a confirmed trait d'union. We evaluated the relationship between IR and an established ovarian reserve biomarker such as anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) together with other potential modulators of ovarian physiology (adiponectin and kisspeptin) in young reproductive-aged group women with obesity and type 1 diabetes (T1D). PATIENTS AND METHODS We recruited 32 female youths: 14 of them presented with T1D (14.6 ± 2.6 years) and 18 with obesity (15.1 ± 2.6 years). The control group included 20 age-matched normal weight females. Each patient underwent physical examination and hormonal assessment. AMH, kisspeptin and adiponectin levels were also measured. IR was calculated as the homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and the glucose disposal rate (eGDR) in patients with obesity and with T1D, respectively. RESULTS adiponectin and kisspeptin levels were significantly different into groups (p ≤ .001), whereas AMH levels were not. Adiponectin values were higher in controls compared to patients with obesity (p < .001) and T1D (p = .02). Kisspeptin levels were lower in controls compared to patients with obesity (p = .001), without reaching statistical significance when compared to T1D (p = .06). IR was associated with lower adiponectin and higher kisspeptin levels (p < .001 and p = .02, respectively), but not with AMH. CONCLUSIONS IR displays a relationship with adiponectin and kisspeptin in young reproductive-aged women with obesity and T1D. Interventions to correct IR in adolescents could be part of an early approach to prevent reproductive disorders and to promote factors associated with longevity in adult women.

Abstract
Background We established age‐group‐specific reference intervals for serum anti‐Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels in a Korean population and investigated the effectiveness of AMH assay for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) diagnosis. Methods We analyzed serum levels of AMH, follicle‐stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) from 1540 Korean women. Subjects were divided into three groups: healthy, benign gynecologic diseases, and PCOS. Age‐group‐specific reference intervals and AMH diagnostic performance were estimated. Results The PCOS group had a median AMH level of 7.0 µg/L, which was higher than for the healthy (1.8 µg/L) and the benign gynecologic diseases (2.7 µg/L) groups. The upper 97.5% reference limits for age groups 12–20 years, 21–34 years, and 35–46 years were 13.2 µg/L, 15.8 µg/L, and 6.6 µg/L, respectively. The area under the curve (AUC) values to estimate AMH ability to discriminate PCOS from healthy women for each age group were 0.741, 0.785, and 0.789, respectively. AUCs for LH/FSH were 0.719, 0.672, and 0.590. Conclusions The better diagnostic ability of AMH over LH/FSH in women of late childbearing ages indicates that age and other clinical characteristics should be considered when interpreting these test results.

Abstract
PURPOSE To explore the value of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with different phenotypes and ages, and to identify the relationship between hyperandrogenism (HA) and polycystic ovary morphology (PCOM), in a Chinese cohort. METHODS A total of 2262 women (1631 with PCOS and 631 controls) were enrolled. The serum AMH and total testosterone (TT) were analyzed, the AMH levels of each subgroup were compared, and the value of each phenotype and age group of patients with PCOS was evaluated. RESULTS The level of AMH in women with PCOS (mean±SD, 8.63±4.73 ng/mL) was higher than that in controls (5.57±3.31 ng/mL) (P<0.01). The level of AMH in the PCOM subgroup (11.19±6.4 ng/mL) was significantly higher than that in the HA subgroup (8.58±4.74 ng/mL) (P<0.01), and both were higher than that in controls (P<0.01). AMH was higher in PCOS patients than in controls, but the same values were found in subgroups of PCOS patients under 30 years old. CONCLUSION AMH changed in different subgroups of PCOS, which was the possible reason why AMH was not a diagnostic indicator. However, AMH could help to differentiate between clinical subgroups, as it was strongly related with PCOM but not with HA. AMH changed substantially with age, but was stable in PCOS patients under 30 years old.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the status of insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia in the regulation of menstrual cycle in patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy (LSG). MATERIALS AND METHODS Retrospective analysis of a typical metabolic syndrome population: 65 cases of sexually mature women underwent weight reduction surgery from January 2015 to June 2018, and for 35 of these cases we collected all clinical data including age, menstrual status, body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), blood lipid level, homeostasis model assessment in insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and free androgen index (FAI). Sixteen of these patients had menstrual disorder that was characterized by oligomenorrhea and their menstrual cycle was >2 months or <24 days before operation, while their menstrual cycle recovered approximately 1 month to one year after sleeve gastrectomy. RESULTS The age of our 35 patients with metabolic syndrome was 15-40 years; 19 cases were in the menstrual regularity group and 16 cases in the menstrual disorder group. On analysis of metabolic factors in the two groups, only BMI and FAI distribution in the two groups were statistically different, while lipid levels and insulin resistance levels for abnormal menstrual cycle were not statistically significant. The analysis of blood lipid components showed that high triglyceride levels and high cholesterol levels increased the occurrence of menstrual disorders. CONCLUSION BMI can be used as one of the important metabolic indicators of menstrual disorders in patients with metabolic syndrome. Excess androgen can increase the occurrence of menstrual disorders, leading to polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Although insulin resistance is universal in patients with metabolic syndrome, it is not a specific factor that affects menstrual cycle. Hyperlipidemia, especially triglyceride composition, may be one of the driving factors of menstrual disorder.
