Abstract
Desmoid fibromatosis (DF) arising from musculoaponeurotic structures rarely affects the head and neck region with the abdomen being the most common site of origin. These are benign tumors with locally infiltrative nature usually presenting as painless swellings that are rapidly growing. The infratemporal fossa DF is an extremely rare location with few clinical reports. This article discusses the management of a 2-year-old child with DF of the infratemporal fossa (ITF) along with literature review.

Abstract
BackgroundDesmoid fibromatosis (DF) is a rare clonal proliferation of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts. It develops in the connective tissues and does not metastasize but may infiltrate adjacent structures. Because of the rarity of these tumors and the unpredictable natural history of the disease, well-defined and precise guidelines of the optimal treatment for DF have not been formulated.Case PresentationHere, we present a giant abdominal DF that invaded the right spermatic cord and iliac vessels. The lesion was excised with external iliac artery dissection; however, the vein was sacrificed. The abdominal wall defect was then repaired with a polypropylene mesh. The lesional cells are positive for β-catenin.ConclusionsIn the past decades, there has been a change in the treatment of DF. The “wait and see” policy has been considered initially in most cases. Surgical intervention remains a valid option for symptomatic lesions. The optimal regimes of the tumor should not take the risk of making the patient more symptomatic than the lesion itself.

Abstract
Spindle cell tumor is very rare. Herein, we report a case of retroperitoneal spindle cell tumor in a 52-year-old female. The patient first presented with a complaint of persistent pain in the right upper abdomen. In the follow-up, a CT scan was performed and showed a retroperitoneal soft tissue density mass measuring 11 cm in diameter. Then, a subsequent operation was performed, and we completely removed the tumor and partially invaded lesions. The tumor was histologically diagnosed as a spindle cell tumor. Therefore, it is imperative for us to enhance the understanding of this seldom found tumor. Surgery remains the best option for treatment.

Abstract
The present study reported on the histomorphological observations and immunohistochemical features of five cases of gastric inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT). Loosely arranged fat fusiform myofibroblast-fibroblasts and diffusely or patchily distributed inflammatory cells, which formed a diverse morphological structure, were observed. In the mucous vascular structure, mucoid or collagenous areas, fibromatosis- or scar-like lesions were generally <10 mm in size and both had diffuse or patchy plasma cells, lymphocytes and other inflammatory-cell infiltration backgrounds. The immunophenotype was vimentin- and smooth muscle actin-positive with pan-cytokeratin, desmin and calponin expression and CD34-positive foci; furthermore, three cases were positive for anaplastic lymphoma kinase expression. Gastric IMT is rare, with unique histopathological changes and corrosion-like invasion of the smooth muscle of the stomach wall, blood vessels, nerves and adipose tissue. It should be differentiated from a variety of spindle cell tumor types and tumor-like lesions.

Abstract
Objective To study the clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis of
gastrofibromatosis-like undifferentiated carcinoma (GFLUC). Methods Three patients with GFLUC underwent histological and immunophenotypic
analyses and fluorescence in situ hybridization to detect
human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER2) gene
amplification. Results Among the three patients (2 male [36 and 44 years old], 1 female [58 years
old]), two had lesions in the gastric body and one had lesions in the
gastric antrum. Histological analysis revealed mixtures of aggressive
fibromatosis and undifferentiated carcinoma in all three cases. Highly
invasive fibromatous tissue, consisting of fibroblasts, proliferating
myofibroblasts, and collagenous fibrous tissues, accounted for >90% of
the tumor, with undifferentiated cancerous tissue accounting for <10%
scattered in the gaps within the invasive fibromatous tissue, with no
glandular ducts or nests. Immunophenotypic analysis showed that the
undifferentiated cancerous cells were positive for pan-cytokeratin, CDX2,
villin, and p53, while the cytoplasm of invasive fibromatous cells was
positive for vimentin, β-catenin, and smooth muscle actin. No
HER2 gene amplification was detected. Conclusions Unlike other gastric carcinomas, GFLUC shows specific histological,
biological, and immunophenotypic characteristics.
