Abstract
The use of lignocellulosic biomass as a raw material for the production of lipids has gained increasing attention, especially in recent years when the use of food in the production of biofuels has become a current technology. Thus, the competition for raw materials for both uses has brought the need to create technological alternatives to reduce this competition that could generate a reduction in the volume of food offered and a consequent commercial increase in the value of food. Furthermore, the use of microbial oils has been studied in many industrial branches, from the generation of renewable energy to the obtainment of several value-added products in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Thus, this review provides an overview of the feasibility and challenges observed in the production of microbial lipids through the use of lignocellulosic biomass in a biorefinery. Topics covered include biorefining technology, the microbial oil market, oily microorganisms, mechanisms involved in lipid-producing microbial metabolism, strain development, processes, lignocellulosic lipids, technical drawbacks, and lipid recovery.

Abstract
In recent years, lignocellulosic biomass has become an attractive low-cost raw material for microbial bioprocesses aiming the production of biofuels and other valuable chemicals. However, these feedstocks require preliminary pretreatments to increase their utilization by microorganisms, which may lead to the formation of various compounds (acetic acid, formic acid, furfural, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, p-coumaric acid, vanillin, or benzoic acid) with antimicrobial activity. Batch cultures in microplate wells demonstrated the ability of Yarrowia strains (three of Y. lipolytica and one of Y. divulgata) to grow in media containing each one of these compounds. Cellular growth of Yarrowia lipolytica W29 and NCYC 2904 (chosen strains) was proven in Erlenmeyer flasks and bioreactor experiments where an accumulation of intracellular lipids was also observed in culture medium mimicking lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysate containing glucose, xylose, acetic acid, formic acid, furfural, and 5-HMF. Lipid contents of 35% (w/w) and 42% (w/w) were obtained in bioreactor batch cultures with Y. lipolytica W29 and NCYC 2904, respectively, showing the potential of this oleaginous yeast to use lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysates as feedstock for obtaining valuable compounds, such as microbial lipids that have many industrial applications. Abstract
Among the most relevant themes of modernity, using renewable resources to produce biofuels attracts several countries' attention, constituting a vital part of the global geopolitical chessboard since humanity's energy needs will grow faster and faster. Fortunately, advances in personal computing associated with free and open-source software production facilitate this work of prospecting and understanding complex scenarios. Thus, for the development of this work, the keywords "biofuel" and "nanocatalyst" were delivered to the Scopus database, which returned 1071 scientific articles. The titles and abstracts of these papers were saved in Research Information Systems (RIS) format and submitted to automatic analysis via the Visualization of Similarities Method implemented in VOSviewer 1.6.18 software. Then, the data extracted from the VOSviewer were processed by software written in Python, which allowed the use of the network data generated by the Visualization of Similarities Method. Thus, it was possible to establish the relationships for the pair between the nodes of all clusters classified by Link Strength Between Items or Terms (LSBI) or by year. Indeed, other associations should arouse particular interest in the readers. However, here, the option was for a numerical criterion. However, all data are freely available, and stakeholders can infer other specific connections directly. Therefore, this innovative approach allowed inferring that the most recent pairs of terms associate the need to produce biofuels from microorganisms' oils besides cerium oxide nanoparticles to improve the performance of fuel mixtures by reducing the emission of hydrocarbons (HC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx).

Abstract
Pichia kudriavzevii is an emerging non-conventional yeast which has attracted increased attention for its application in food and biotechnology areas. It is widespread in various habitats and often occurs in the spontaneous fermentation process of traditional fermented foods and beverages. The contributions of P. kudriavzevii in degrading organic acid, releasing various hydrolase and flavor compounds, and displaying probiotic properties make it a promising starter culture in the food and feed industry. Moreover, its inherent characteristics, including high tolerance to extreme pH, high temperature, hyperosmotic stress and fermentation inhibitors, allow it the potential to address technical challenges in industrial applications. With the development of advanced genetic engineering tools and system biology techniques, P. kudriavzevii is becoming one of the most promising non-conventional yeasts. This paper systematically reviews the recent progress in the application of P. kudriavzevii to food fermentation, the feed industry, chemical biosynthesis, biocontrol and environmental engineering. In addition, safety issues and current challenges to its use are discussed.

Abstract
Reprogramming of host metabolism is a common strategy for improving desired compounds in host cells and is essential to generate overproducing strains in biotechnology. As a promising feedstock converter, Yarrowia lipolytica has been engineered to extend its bioproduction ability related to the synthesis of new value-added molecules relevant to human food and disease treatment. New synthetic tools have been reported and new enzymes with biotechnological importance are recovered. Additionally, metabolic events occurring during substrate utilization and recombinant protein production have been elucidated. Its contributions as feed and in controlling disease in the food industry have also been provided. Likewise, the recent abilities of Yarrowia lipolytica in the bioconversion of food waste into single-cell protein have been reported. These aforementioned events made the novelty of this review compared to the existing ones on this oleaginous yeast. KEY POINTS: • The production of biolipids by the heterotrophic yeast Yarrowia lipolytica is examined. • A Summary of information concerning new value-added molecules has been highlighted. • Special focus on the importance of Yarrowia lipolytica in regulating the immune system has been provided.
