Abstract
The neutrophil-to-platelet ratio (NPR) is considered to be an indicator of inflammatory status. The value of the NPR in predicting in-hospital adverse events (AEs) and long-term prognosis after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients has not yet been reported. Meanwhile, the mechanisms behind its predictive value for long-term prognosis remain unreported as well. The study retrospectively enrolled 7284 consecutive patients with CAD undergoing PCI from January 2012 to December 2018. Multivariable logistic regression analysis, multivariable Cox regression analysis, Kaplan‒Meier (KM) curve analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS) curve analysis, and sensitivity analysis were used in the study. All-cause death was the endpoint of the study. According to the median value of the NPR, the patients were divided into two groups: the high group (NPR ≥ 0.02, n = 3736) and the low group (NPR < 0.02, n = 3548). Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that a high NPR was a risk factor for in-hospital AEs [odds ratio (OR) = 1.602, 95% CI 1.347-1.909, p = 0.001]. During a mean follow-up period of 3.01 ± 1.49 years, the multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that a high NPR affected the long-term prognosis of patients (HR 1.22, 95% CI 1.03-1.45, p = 0.025) and cardiac death (HR 1.49, 95% CI 1.14-1.95, p = 0.003). The subgroup analysis showed that the NPR was affected by age and sex. The mediation analysis identified that the effect of the NPR on long-term outcomes is partially mediated by serum creatinine (Scr) and triglycerides. The NPR may be a convenient indicator of in-hospital AEs and poor long-term and cardiac outcomes in CAD patients. It might have impacted prognosis through effects on kidney function and lipid metabolism.

Abstract
Background Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) refers to the acute renal dysfunction caused by the injection of contrast agents. CI-AKI is currently a common complication after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Objective To investigate the predictive value of the combined systemic inflammatory index (SII) and urate/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (UHR) for CI-AKI after PCI in patients with AMI. Methods A total of 1222 patients with AMI who underwent PCI were randomly divided into a training group and a validation group in an 8:2 ratio. According to the definition of CI-AKI diagnostic criteria, the training group was divided into CI-AKI group and non-CI-AKI group. Collect patient's blood and biochemical data, then calculate SII and UHR. The risk factors for CI-AKI were identified using LASSO and multivariate logistic regression analyses. A predictive column was created by using R language.Evaluate the predictive value of SII, UHR and their combination for CI-AKI after PCI using the area under the ROC curve (AUC). Results Diabetes, Cystatin C, Diuretics, UHR, and LnSII were independent risk factors for CI-AKI in AMI patients after PCI. The ROC curve showed that the AUC of UHR and SII combined for predicting CI-AKI in AMI patients after PCI was 0.761 (95% CI: 0.709-0.812), with a sensitivity of 65.20% and a specificity of 76.70%, which was better than the prediction by either factor alone. Conclusion High SII and high UHR are risk factors for AMI, and their combination can improve the accuracy of predicting CI-AKI in AMI patients after PCI.The prognosis of CI-AKI in AMI patients is worse than in the general population.

Abstract
Increased platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI), which indicate accelerated thrombus formation and inflammatory response, potentially have prognostic implications. Given that cardiovascular disease and renal function exacerbate each other, an elevated PLR and NLR at admission for AMI may worsen renal function after AMI. However, only a few clinical studies have addressed this issue. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of PLR and NLR at AMI onset on renal function. This retrospective study analyzed data from 234 patients hospitalized for AMI. First, correlations between various parameters (age; sex; body mass index; hemoglobin level, albumin level, B-type natriuretic peptide level, C-reactive protein level, creatinine (Cr) level, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) level, PLR, and NLR at admission; contrast medium usage; and maximum creatine kinase) and Cr and BUN levels at discharge were examined using single and multiple regression analyses. Then, correlations between these parameters and the change in Cr (ΔCr) and BUN levels (ΔBUN) were investigated using single and multiple regression analysis, followed by structural equation modeling (SEM). Multiple regression analysis revealed significant positive correlations between PLR at admission and Cr level at discharge (β = 0.135, P = .021), PLR at admission and BUN level at discharge (β = 0.218, P = .006), PLR at admission and ΔCr (β = 0.244, P = .019), and PLR at admission and ΔBUN (β = 0.312, P = .003). SEM results revealed significant positive correlations between PLR at admission and ΔCr (β = 0.260, P = .008) and PLR at admission and ΔBUN (β = 0.292, P = .003). Conversely, NLR demonstrated a minimal association with renal function at discharge compared to PLR. This study suggests that increased PLR at admission in AMI significantly affects and exacerbates renal function but does not increase NLR at admission. PLR is one of the predictors of renal dysfunction after AMI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between HALP score and post-contrast acute kidney injury (PC-AKI) and average 6-year mortality in patients undergoing endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). METHODS 125 patients who underwent EVAR between January 2015 and December 2020 were included in our study. HALP score was calculated with the formula "hemoglobin × albumin × lymphocyte count/platelet count." In the first phase of the study, two groups were developed: those who developed PC-AKI and those who did not. In the second stage, statistical analysis was performed by creating two groups: average 6-year mortality and survivors group. RESULTS HALP score was found to be lower in the PC-AKI group [26.12 (14-61.54) versus 40.53 (7.22-103.61); p < .001]. Low HALP score was found to be both a dependent and independent predictor of the development of PC-AKI (p = .019). HALP score was also found to be lower in the mortality group compared to the survivors [28.97 (12.6-103.61) versus 40.81 (7.22-99) p = .004]. Low HALP score was found to be only a dependent predictor of mortality. The development of PC-AKI was found to be an independent predictor of mortality (p = .042). CONCLUSIONS The HALP score, which can be calculated with a simple formula, can be used to predict PC-AKI and medium-long-term mortality in EVAR patients.

Abstract
We evaluated the value of pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) in predicting the risk for postcontrast acute kidney injury (PCAKI), an important complication following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. Medical records of 839 ACS patients underwent PCI between June 2019 and December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups: PCAKI (-) and PCAKI (+). PCAKI was defined as a ≥ 0.5 mg/dL and/or a ≥ 25% increase in serum creatinine within 72 h after PCI. The PIV was computed as [neutrophils × platelets × monocytes]÷lymphocytes. The mean age was 60.7 ± 12.9 years. PCAKI was detected in 105 (12.51%) patients. PIV was higher in the PCAKI (+) group compared to PCAKI (-) group (median 1150, interquartile range [IQR] 663-2021 vs median 366, IQR 238-527, p < 0.001). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the best cutoff of PIV for predicting PCAKI was 576 with 81% sensitivity and 80% specificity. PIV was superior to neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-lymphocyte ratio for the prediction of PCAKI (area under curve:0.894, 0.849 and 0.817, respectively, p < 0.001 for all). A high PIV was independently correlated with PCAKI (≤576 vs. >576, odds ratio [OR] 12.484, 95%confidence interval [CI] 4.853-32.118, p < 0.001) together with older age (OR 1.058, p = 0.009), female gender (OR 4.374, p = 0.005), active smoking (OR 0.193, p = 0.012), left ventricular ejection fraction (OR 0.954, p = 0.021), creatinine (OR 10.120, p < 0.001), hemoglobin (OR 0.759, p = 0.019) and c-reactive protein (OR 1.121, p = 0.002). In conclusion, a high PIV seems to be an easily assessable tool that can be used in clinical practice for predicting the risk of PCAKI in ACS patients implanted drug-eluting stents.

Abstract
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) for ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and is associated with poor outcomes. AKI is diagnosed by the dynamic change of serum Cr, but it could not predict AKI. This study aimed to evaluate a biomarker array that may fulfill this shortage. Setting: Cardiology Department, Tanta University Hospital. Design: Prospective interventional study included 280 acute STEMI patients who underwent emergency PCI. Serial samples of blood and urine were obtained at the time of admission to the hospital (T0) and PCI unit (T1) and at 12 h and 72 h (T12 and T72) after coronary revascularization to estimate levels of serum Cr, creatine phosphokinase, and heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) and calculation of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and urinary liver-type FABP (L-FABP). AKI was diagnosed according to the recommendations of the European Renal Best Practice as the times of increased serum Cr concerning baseline level. 85 patients developed AKI. Regression analyses defined a high NLR ratio in the T0 sample as the most significant predictor for early AKI diagnosed at T1 time, while high NLR and serum H-FABP levels in T1 samples as the significant predictors for AKI defined at T12 time. However, high urinary L-FABP levels in T12 samples and high NLR are significant predictors for AKI at T72 time. Combined estimations of serum H-FABP and urinary L-FABP with the calculation of NLR could predict the oncoming AKI and discriminate its pathogenesis. The study protocol was approved by the Local Ethical Committee at Tanta Faculty of Medicine by approval number: 35327/3/22. For blindness purposes, the authors will be blinded about the laboratory results till the end of 72 h after revascularization and the clinical pathologist will be blinded about the indication for the requested investigations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is the third most common cause of acute renal failure in hospitalized patients and is an important cause of prolonged hospital stay, morbidity, and mortality. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness and sufficiency of the prognostic capacity of the inflammatory biomarkers C-reactive Protein (CRP) and albumin ratio (CAR) in predicting the development of CIN in patients undergoing contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) imaging in the emergency department (ED). METHODS This study was performed on patients whose laboratory values could be reached within 48 hours after contrast-enhanced CT imaging in the emergency department of our hospital. The patients were divided into two groups as those with and without CIN according to their increased creatinine levels. Its effectiveness in detecting the development of CIN in the early period was evaluated comparatively. RESULTS One hundred and twenty-five patients were included. CIN developed in 10.4% of the patients. The CAR was 0.19 (IQR: 0.17-0.33) in the group with CIN and 0.02 (IQR: 0.01-0.06) in the group without CIN; and the difference between the two groups was significant (p<0.001). In multivariate logistic regression analysis, it was found that the CAR increased as an independent risk factor for CIN (OR: 2.326; 95% CI: 1.39-3.893; p=0.001). CONCLUSIONS We think that early identification of patients who may develop CIN through the CAR in EDs and early initiation of treatment for CIN may affect the morbidity-mortality rate and reduce the duration of hospitalization and treatment costs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute kidney injury (AKI) after coronary angiography (CAG) and primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) is frequently observed, and often interpreted as contrast induced-AKI. This study aimed to investigate the incidence, predictors and outcomes of AKI in acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing emergent CAG/PPCI using the control group of STEMI patients who were not exposed to contrast agents within the first 72 h. METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 1670 STEMI patients. Of them, 673 patients underwent emergent CAG/PPCI, and 997 patients treated with thrombolysis or no reperfusion therapy who were not exposed to contrast material during the first 72 h. AKI was defined as an increase of serum creatinine ≥ 44.2 mmol/L or ≥ 25% from baseline within 72 h. Patents were then followed up for the occurrence of all-cause mortality for 40 months (interquartile range: 24-55 months). RESULTS After propensity score matching, 505 pairs of patients were matched. Overall, the incidence of AKI was 27.4%, and AKI rates were not significantly different in patients with and without emergent CAG/PPCI procedure (27.5% vs. 27.3%, P = 0.944). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that the independent predictors of AKI were female, elevated interleukin-6 level, decreased lymphocyte count, left ventricular ejection fraction < 50% and use of diuretics in patients with emergent CAG/PPCI. Patients with AKI than those without AKI experienced higher incidence of acute heart failure with Killip class III (9.4% vs. 3.3%, P = 0.005; 15.2% vs. 6.8%, P = 0.003, respectively) and mortality (5.8% vs. 1.4%, P = 0.014; 12.3% vs. 4.6%, P = 0.002, respectively) in patients with and without emergent CAG/PPCI. Multivariate Cox regression analysis confirmed that AKI was independently associated with long-term mortality rate at 40 months follow-up in patients with and without emergent CAG/PPCI (HR = 1.867, 95% CI: 1.086-3.210, P = 0.024; HR = 1.700, 95% CI: 1.219-2.370, P = 0.002, respectively). CONCLUSIONS Approximately 27.0% of STEMI patients experience AKI, which is strongly associated with an increased short- and long-term mortality regardless of emergent CAG/PPCI procedure. The development of AKI is mainly related to female gender, inflammation reaction, heart failure and use of diuretics in STEMI patients undergoing emergent CAG/PPCI.

Abstract
Background To investigate the incidence of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in relation to the neutrophil to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (NHR), and to further compare the predictive value of NHR and the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for CI-AKI. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 1243 AMI patients undergoing PCI from January 2019 to December 2021, and collected creatinine within 72 h after PCI. All patients were divided into a CI-AKI group and non-CI-AKI group according to the definition of CI-AKI, and the clinical information of the two groups was compared. Potential risk factors for CI-AKI in AMI patients undergoing primary PCI were screened by using logistic regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to compare the predictive value of NHR and NLR. Results A high NHR and high NLR were correlated with a high incidence of CI-AKI in AMI patients undergoing primary PCI, and NHR (odds ratio (OR): 1.313, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.199-1.438) and NLR (OR: 1.105, 95% CI: 1.041-1.174) were independent risk factors for CI-AKI (p < 0.05). Compared with NLR, the area under the curve (AUC) of NHR was larger (AUC = 0.668, 95% CI: 0.641-0.694 vs. AUC = 0.723, 95% CI: 0.697-0.748), and the difference was significant (p < 0.05), with higher sensitivity (61.67% vs. 70.83%) and specificity (64.91% vs. 66.10%). Conclusions Compared with the NLR, the NHR is more valuable in predicting the incidence of CI-AKI in AMI patients undergoing primary PCI.

Abstract
Purpose Development and validation of a nomogram model to predict the risk of Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury (CI-AKI) after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in elderly patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Patients and Methods Retrospective analysis of 542 elderly (≥65 years) STEMI patients undergoing emergency PCI in our hospital from January 2019 to June 2022, with all patients randomized to the training cohort (70%; n=380) and the validation cohort (30%; n=162). Univariate analysis, LASSO regression, and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to determine independent risk factors for developing CI-AKI in elderly STEMI patients. R software is used to generate a nomogram model. The predictive power of the nomogram model was compared with the Mehran score 2. The area under the ROC curve (AUC), calibration curves, and decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to evaluate the prediction model's discrimination, calibration, and clinical validity, respectively. Results The nomogram model consisted of five variables: diabetes mellitus (DM), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), Systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and highly sensitive C-reactive protein(hsCRP). In the training cohort, the AUC is 0.84 (95% CI: 0.790-0.890), and in the validation cohort, it is 0.844 (95% CI: 0.762-0.926). The nomogram model has better predictive ability than Mehran score 2. Based on the calibration curves, the predicted and observed values of the nomogram model were in good agreement between the training and validation cohort. Decision curve analysis (DCA) and clinical impact curve showed that the nomogram prediction model has good clinical utility. Conclusion The established nomogram model can intuitively and specifically screen high-risk groups with a high degree of discrimination and accuracy and has a specific predictive value for CI-AKI occurrence in elderly STEMI patients after PCI.

Abstract
Hospital-acquired acute kidney injury is a heterogeneous clinical syndrome that has multiple aetiologies, widely differing pathogeneses, variable clinical manifestations, and diverse outcomes. There is a persistent unmet need for novel biomarkers that offer timely diagnosis and accurate prediction of the short- and long-term sequelae of acute kidney injury (AKI). AKI is associated with systemic and intrarenal inflammation. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), a readily available marker of inflammation and physiologic stress, has gained increasing attention as universal marker in AKI patients. Numerous retrospective cross-sectional studies assessed the clinical usefulness of this test in high-risk patients with a known time point of the renal injury (surgery, radiological procedures). Strong associations have been demonstrated between high NLR and early onset, progression or recovery of AKI, and the in-hospital and post-discharge mortality of these patients. However, the results were contradictory. The huge heterogeneity of reporting concerning the timing and numbers of blood samples, calculation of the optimal cut-off and the demographic and clinical features of the patient cohorts were confounders. Uncertainty in the optimal cut-off values defining high NLR, the lack of prospective validation of this test and limited understanding of the strengths of associations between NLR and clinical outcomes were further barriers for the clinical adoption of NLR as a valid diagnostic and prognostic test in AKI patients.

Abstract
Aim: To investigate the relationship between the incidence of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) and the level of small dense low-density lipoprotein (sd-LDL) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and to further compare the predictive values of SII, sd-LDL and their combination for CI-AKI.
Methods: A total of 674 patients were assigned to a training and a validation cohort according to their chronological sequence. The baseline characteristics of the 450 patients in the training cohort were considered as candidate univariate predictors of CI-AKI. Multivariate logistic regression was then used to identify predictors of CI-AKI and develop a prediction model. The predictive values of SII, sd-LDL and their combination for CI-AKI were also evaluated.
Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), sd-LDL, uric acid, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and SII were predictors of CI-AKI. The area under the curve (AUC) of the prediction model based on the above factors was 0.846 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.808–0.884], and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test (P = 0.587, χ2 = 6.543) proved the goodness of fit of the model. The AUC combining SII with sd-LDL to predict CI-AKI was 0.785 (95% CI 0.735–0.836), with a sensitivity of 72.8% and a specificity of 79.8%, and was statistically significant when compared with SII and sd-LDL, respectively. The predictive efficiency of combining SII with sd-LDL and SII were evaluated by improved net reclassification improvement (NRI, 0.325, P < 0.001) and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI, 0.07, P < 0.001).
Conclusions: Both SII and sd-LDL can be used as predictors of CI-AKI in STEMI patients undergoing emergency PCI, and their combination can provide more useful value for early assessment of CI-AKI.

Abstract
The inflammatory background of coronary artery disease is gaining more attention in recent times. Off pump surgery is minimally invasive type of surgical revascularization with relatively low number of applications in cardiac surgery centers worldwide that allows for perioperative inflammatory reactions minimalization. The simple inflammatory markers (neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelets to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic inflammatory index (SII), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), aggregate index of systemic inflammation (AISI)) possess a clinically significant impact on patients' prognosis and may help to improve patients' long-term results. The review presents the current knowledge regarding their utility in clinical practice. Assessment of inflammatory indices obtained from whole blood count analysis allows to indicate those patients who need scrupulous follow-up due to predicted worse long-term survival. Perioperative measurement and analysis of simple whole blood counts is inexpensive and easily available and may improve the results of surgical revascularization by better identification of patients at higher risk of worse outcomes.

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the value of neutrophil-to-platelet ratio (NPR) in predicting all-cause mortality in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We enrolled 186 patients with STEMI who underwent primary PCI in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University between January 2017 and December 2018. Based on the NPR values, the patients were divided into two groups: the NPR >0.035 group (n = 82) and the NPR ≤0.035 group (n = 104). All-cause mortality of the patients was followed up for 3 years. By the end of 3 years, 109 (58.6%) patients survived, 53 (28.5%) died, and 24 (12.9%) were lost to follow-up. Univariate analyses found that NPR was associated with all-cause mortality (p < 0.05). In COX regression analyses, patients in the high NPR group had a higher risk of all-cause death than those in the low NPR group (HR = 2.296, 95% CI: 1.150–4.582). These results indicate that NPR could predict all-cause death in 3 years after primary PCI in patients STEMI. NPR values may be useful in risk stratification and in specifying individualized treatment in patients with STEMI. In addition, NPR is a low-cost and easily accessible indicator, if its strong predictive value is confirmed in further studies of other large populations, it can be introduced into clinical practice for effective application.

Abstract
Background: Several perioperative inflammatory markers are postulated to be significant factors for long-term survival after off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB). Hematological parameters, whether single or combined as indices, provide higher predictive values. Methods: The study group comprised 538 consecutive patients (125 (23%) females and 413 (77%) males) with a mean age of 65 ± 9 years, who underwent OPCAB with a mean follow-up time of 4.7 ± 1.7 years. This single-center retrospective analysis included perioperative inflammatory markers such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), aggregate index of systemic inflammation (AISI), and systemic inflammatory index (SII). Results: Multivariable analysis identified levels of neutrophils above 4.3 × 109/L (HR 13.44, 95% CI 1.05−3.68, p = 0.037), values of SIRI above 5.4 (HR 0.29, 95% CI 0.09−0.92, p = 0.036) and values of NLR above 3.5 (HR 2.21, 95% CI 1.48−3.32, p < 0.001) as being significant predictors of long-term mortality. The multifactorial models revealed the possibility of strong prediction by combining preoperative factors (COPD, stroke, PAD, and preoperative PLR) and postoperative neutrophil counts (p = 0.0136) or NLR (p = 0.0136) or SIRI (p = 0.0136). Conclusions: Among the postoperative inflammatory indices, the levels of neutrophils, NLR, and SIRI are the most prominent markers for long-term survival after off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, when combined with preoperative characteristics.

Abstract
Background The influence of the albumin/derived neutrophil and lymphocyte ratio (ALB-dNLR) on the outcomes of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is not known. Here, we aimed to determine the association between the ALB-dNLR score and post-PCI CAD patient outcomes. Methods A total of 6,050 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were enrolled between January 2008 and December 2016. These patients were divided into three groups according to their ALB-dNLR scores (0 points, n = 1,121; 1 point, n = 3,119; 2 points, n = 1,810). Mortality after PCI [all-cause (ACM) and cardiac (CM)] was taken as the primary endpoint. The prognostic value of the ALB-dNLR score was determined with the Cox proportional hazard model after adjustment for covariates. Results The ACM and CM rates differed among participants in the three groups (P = 0.007 and P = 0.034, respectively). Multivariate Cox analysis showed that the ALB-dNLR score independently predicted both ACM [1 point vs. 0 points, HR = 1.249 (95% CI: 0.79–1.774), P = 0.215; 2 points vs. 0 points, HR = 1.777 (95% CI: 1.239–2.549), P = 0.002] and CM [1 point vs. 0 points, HR = 1.294 (95% CI: 0.871–1.922), P = 0.202; 2 points vs. 0 points, HR = 1.782 (95% CI: 1.185–1.782), P = 0.027]. We also found that among male patients in the three groups, both ACM and CM rates differed (P = 0.006 and P = 0.017, respectively). Multivariate Cox analysis showed that the ALB-dNLR score independently predicted both ACM [1 point vs. 0 points, HR = 1.237 (95% CI: 0.806–0.330), P = 0.330; 2 points vs. 0 points, HR = 1.790 (95% CI: 1.159–2.764), P = 0.009] and CM [1 point vs. 0 points HR = 1.472 (95% CI: 0.892–2.430), P = 0.130; 2 points vs. 0 points, HR = 1.792 (95% CI: 1.182–3.289), P = 0.009]. Conclusion The ALB-dNLR score is a credible predictor for mortality in patients with CAD who have undergone PCI.

Abstract
The role of inflammation has been identified in the pathogenesis of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and white blood cells (WBC) can be used to predict a systemic inflammatory response. Changes in NLR and WBC levels have never been explored in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) patients with DKA and an uninfected state. This retrospective study included a total of 644 participants. NLR and WBC were measured in the control group (n = 316) and in T1DM patients with mild-DKA (n = 92), severe-DKA (n = 52), and non-DKA (n = 184) in an uninfected state. Then, we assessed the independent predictors of DKA occurrence in T1DM patients in an uninfected state. The diagnostic performance of variables was determined by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Serum NLR of T1DM patients is significantly higher than that of normal controls, and if DKA occurs, NLR increases further and increases with the severity of DKA. In addition to diastolic blood pressure, blood urea nitrogen, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and WBC, NLR was also independently associated with DKA in T1DM patients with an uninfected state (OR = 1.386, 95% CI: 1.127-1.705, p = 0.002). Furthermore, the diagnosis analysis showed that except for NLR and WBC, the area under the curve (AUC) of indicators with a statistical difference in patients with and without DKA were 0.747 for DKA diagnosis, and after the addition of NLR and WBC, the AUC was 0.806. The increased NLR level represents a low-cost and highly accessible predictor for DKA in T1DM patients with an uninfected state. The addition of inflammation indicators can play a statistically significant role in the prediction model of the DKA occurrence.

Abstract
Background Psoriasis is a common inflammatory dermatological condition and affects 2-3% population worldwide. Psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) and body surface area (BSA) are two commonly used scales used to measure disease severity in psoriasis patients. However, these scales are plagued by weaknesses as inter-observer variation and insufficient evaluation of micro-vascular inflammation. Thus, it is necessary to have an objective and simple measure of the severity of inflammation. The ratio of neutrophils-to-lymphocytes (NLR) and platelets-to-lymphocytes (PLR) are simple and inexpensive markers of systemic inflammatory response that can be measured as part of a complete blood count and are already used in the setting of inflammatory diseases. The utility of the NLR and PLR in psoriasis however, remains relatively unexplored. Aims and Objectives The present study was undertaken to assess if NLR, PLR and C-reactive protein were altered in chronic plaque psoriasis patients as compared to controls and also to determine correlation of NLR and PLR values with disease severity as measured by PASI. Methods This case control study consisted of equal numbers (45 each) chronic plaque psoriasis patients and control subjects. The subjects were evaluated by way of history taking, clinical and blood examination. Thereafter, the results were tabulated and examined statistically. Results Our study results indicate that psoriasis patients tended to have a higher neutrophil count, lymphocyte count, NLR and C-reactive protein in comparison the control subjects (P < 0.05). Conclusion We concluded that such easily available and low cost indices of systemic inflammation are raised in psoriasis patients and are positively correlated with the severity of involvement. They can thus not only be used to monitor the effect of systemic drugs in psoriasis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Previous studies have shown that the relationship between hypertension (HT) and contrast-associated acute kidney injury (CA-AKI) is not clear. We apply a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the association between HT and CA-AKI. METHODS We searched for articles on the study of risk factors for CA-AKI in the Embase, Medline, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (by March 25, 2021). Two authors independently performed quality assessment and extracted data such as the studies' clinical setting, the definition of CA-AKI, and the number of patients. The CA-AKI was defined as a serum creatinine (SCr) increase ≥25% or ≥0.5 mg/dL from baseline within 72 h. We used fixed or random models to pool adjusted OR (aOR) by STATA. RESULTS A total of 45 studies (2,830,338 patients) were identified, and the average incidence of CA-AKI was 6.48%. There was an increased risk of CA-AKI associated with HT (aOR: 1.378, 95% CI: 1.211-1.567, I2 = 67.9%). In CA-AKI with a SCr increase ≥50% or ≥0.3 mg/dL from baseline within 72 h, an increased risk of CA-AKI was associated with HT (aOR: 1.414, 95% CI: 1.152-1.736, I2 = 0%). In CA-AKI with a Scr increase ≥50% or ≥0.3 mg/dL from baseline within 7 days, HT increases the risk of CA-AKI (aOR: 1.317, 95% CI: 1.049-1.654, I2 = 51.5%). CONCLUSION Our meta-analysis confirmed that HT is an independent risk factor for CA-AKI and can be used to identify risk stratification. Physicians should pay more attention toward prevention and treatment of patients with HT in clinical practice.
