Abstract
Sacrococcygeal teratomas (SCTs) are rare congenital tumors. With the improvement of diagnostic imaging methods and follow-up protocols in pregnancies, in utero detection of these tumors has increased. Despite these progresses, SCTs may present difficulties in establishing in utero diagnosis and subsequent management. We present two cases of SCT in 18 weeks, respectively 22 weeks pregnancy, diagnosed using ultrasound imaging and pathologically confirmed. Also, the article aims to recapitulate clinicopathological aspects and prognosis of these lesions, following the review of the literature.

Abstract
Endometrial adenocarcinoma (ADK) is one of the most common uterine cancer and the fourth neoplasia mortality cause in women according to the literature data. ADK is encountered in the sixth decade of life, the mean age being 63 years. Only 2–5% of cases are found in women less than 40 years old. We present the case of a 63-year-old woman admitted in our Clinic for hypogastric pain and reduced vaginal sanguinolent discharge. The genital examination and transvaginal ultrasound (US) scan were strongly suggestive for a type 0 myoma tending to be expelled through the cervical canal. Laparotomy and total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy were performed. Histological examination identified a grade G1 well-differentiated endometrioid ADK without uterine wall invasion. The immunohistochemistry study for estrogen receptors expression revealed moderate and strong nuclear immunostaining in more than 70% of the tumoral cells, as well as a mosaic p16 immunoexpression, a cytokeratin 7 (CK7) immunophenotype, no p53 overexpression and low Ki67 index (estimated at 10–15%). Considering the incidental finding, the early stage and limited localization of the ADK at the myoma surface level surgery was considered sufficient as treatment but follow-up was conducted by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and general examination every six months. The most interesting aspect of the case was the atypical presence of an active myoma in menopause and the totally unsuspicious US appearance of the endometrium. The endometrial ADK was accidentally discovered in an unusual specimen without any other symptom.

Abstract
Currently, Romania ranks first in Europe with regard to cervical cancer mortality. A new solution proposed for optimizing cytology-based screening, before seeing the risk associated with minor abnormalities results, is the use of molecular markers. This study concerns atypical squamous of undetermined significance (ASC-US) results, the grey zone of cytology that hides up to 15% high-grade lesions, to see how dual immunocytochemistry (ICC) staining for p16INK4a∕Ki67 help to better identify and manage high-risk (HR) ASC-US patients. We included and reviewed 183 cases with ASC-US results and p16INK4a∕Ki67 double staining (DS) performed in MICOMI Clinic (Bucharest) during 2014-2016. All patients were referred for colposcopy and biopsy if appreciated as necessary and followed-up at six and 12 months. One DS(+)∕HR human papillomavirus (HPV) negative case was positive for HPV73 Group IIB International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The mean age for ASC-US in our study group was 32 years, with a median of 31 years and 31% of patients were aged 25-29 years. The sensibility of p16INK4a∕Ki67 double immunostaining was 100%, the specificity 88%, the positive predictive value (PPV) was 82%, and the negative predictive value (NPV) was 100%. The use of p16INK4a∕Ki67 ICC test optimizes the medical approach towards screening or monitoring especially in ASC-US HR HPV(+) young patients, unnecessary colposcopies are avoided thus invasive gestures at nulliparous are limited.

Abstract
Epithelial ovarian carcinoma makes up 90-95% of all ovarian malignancies, taking into account also low-malignant-potential tumors. The Krukenberg tumor is a rare metastatic adenocarcinoma (ADK) in the ovary, representing 1-2% of ovarian tumors. Multiple primary malignant neoplasms may exist when more than one cancerous tumor is diagnosed in the same or a different organ. The incidence of multiple primary cancers among malignancies is between 2.4% to 8%. The aim of this paper is to report the case of a 47-year-old patient with two synchronous malignant tumors involving both ovaries, one diagnosed as primary papillary serous cystadenocarcinoma and the other one diagnosed as ovarian metastasis (Krukenberg tumor) of a synchronous colorectal ADK, and the complex diagnostic and therapeutic challenges that such a rare case poses. Histopathological (HP) examination and especially the immunohistochemical analysis had a determining role in differentiating between an ovarian primary tumor and a metastasis from a gastrointestinal tract cancer. The tumors examination for somatic mutations of Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) and neuroblastoma RAS viral oncogene homolog (NRAS) genes was performed in order to individualize the chemotherapic treatment in this difficult case. The conclusion of this case is that, although synchronous multiple primary cancers in a young patient are a rare condition, this situation should be taken into account in the differential diagnosis when we encounter clinical and HP diagnostic challenges.

Abstract
Endometriosis is a benign pathology, commonly found in women at reproductive age. It is represented by the ectopic presence of the endometrial glandular epithelium in several tissues and organs. This ectopically located tissue can display premalignant or even malignant changes under the influence of certain factors that affect cell structure, function and proliferation. Our study includes a total of 28 patients, with endometriosis of different localizations: ovarian or pelvic endometriosis, adenomyosis or endometriosis of the abdominal wall. We performed a clinical and statistical analysis upon the collected clinical and laboratory data, together with the results obtained by using classical histological and immunohistochemical (IHC) profiling. The classical staining revealed the existence of the ectopic glandular epithelium, while the IHC reactions obtained with the anti-cytokeratin (CK) 7∕anti-CK20, anti-estrogen receptor alpha (ERα)∕anti-progesterone receptor (PR) antibodies, ascertained that these tissues were of endometrial origin. The environmental, hormonal or inflammatory factors influence these areas, so that the ER∕PR scores may be modified, the cellular proliferation might be increased (Ki67+ marker), the anti-apoptotic B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL2) protein expression and phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) may also be modified. Moreover, tumor protein 53 (p53) was positive in cases with atypia, density of inflammatory cells clearly increased compared to the adjacent normal endometrium, respectively with cluster of differentiation (CD) 3+, CD20+, CD68+, CD79a+, and tryptase+ cells, all of which may influence the cellular structure, histological architecture of the surrounding microenvironment and cause premalignant or even malignant changes in endometriosis outbreaks.

Abstract
Clear cell carcinoma (CCC) of the female genital tract usually arises in the ovary, endometrium, cervix and vagina. A rare site for CCC is the vulva, and moreover even rarer are the cases involving the Bartholin gland. A 54-year-old female was admitted for a 1.5×2 cm tumor at the level of the right Bartholin gland. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam revealed enlarged inguinal, pelvic and para-aortic lymph nodes but no other primary tumor. Microscopic examination revealed CCC. The tumor was positive for cytokeratin 7 (CK7), paired-box 8 (Pax8), napsin A and vimentin, negative for estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), calretinin, cluster of differentiation 10 (CD10), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), p16 and p63. Also, p53 was expressed in 30-40% and Ki67 in 70% of the malignant cells. Given the clinical, imagistic, histological and immunohistochemical features of the tumor, we concluded that the tumor is a CCC of the Bartholin gland. Aim of the study is to signal a rare case of CCC of Bartholin gland. Since there are only two other cases reported in literature, the natural history and prognosis of the disease is not known, also there are no therapeutic guidelines regarding this rare tumor so appropriate treatment is uncertain. Therefore, it is important that new cases are reported for a better understanding of this rare condition. Bartholin gland carcinoma is a pathology quite rarely encountered in practice. The positive diagnosis is eminently histological and immunohistochemistry. Bartholin gland CCC is an extremely rare diagnosis with, to our knowledge, only two other cases reported in literature, but with a potential aggressive clinical behavior and poor outcome.

Abstract
Endometrial stromal tumors are very rare, representing approximately 0.2% of uterine malignancies, having an incidence of one to two from a million of women. The diagnosis cannot be established by imaging, it is histopathological only, often necessitate supplementary immunohistochemistry tests. We report the case of a 27-year-old woman who had an initial diagnosis, in another hospital, of uterine adenomyoma, established by dilatation and uterine curettage and then by subsequently histopathological exam. This diagnosis led to an initial non-oncological surgery, with interannexial total hysterectomy. The establishment of the final histopathological diagnosis of stromal endometrial sarcoma has led to a serious reassessment of the case. Making a review of the literature, we found very few cases of endometrial stromal sarcoma in young women less than 30 years old and we have not identified any clear strategy of treatment. However, from precautionary and considering that may be at risk, even with very few cases reported, the distance metastases can be present, sometimes at large intervals of time, we decided, for oncological safety, reintervention after one month. At the second surgery, it was practiced bilateral salpingo-ovarectomy, cardinal ligaments excision, partial omentectomy, bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy extended lumbo-aortic and interaortico-cava, sampling biopsy from the inguinal femoral adenopathy and re-excision of the vaginal vault. The evolution was favorable, the patient being follow-up together with the oncologist specialist.

Abstract
The prevalence of endometrial cancer among asymptomatic women is rather reduced also due to the absence of a cost-efficient test, as there are no ideal screening examinations for endometrial cancer. Several methods were proposed in medical practice to discover endometrial neoplasia at an early stage, among which: endometrial biopsy, endovaginal ultrasound, targeted biopsy hysteroscopy. This study was made on a group of 38 patients monitored for metrorrhagia in the interval between July 1, 2014-July 1, 2016. All patients were monitored clinically and by ultrasound, endometrium samples were taken by biopsied uterine curettage, and a histopathological examination was performed, completed by immunomarking, whenever necessary. The clinical and paraclinical methods allowed for the creation of a protocol by which patients were monitored. This protocol allowed for the modulation and effectiveness of the treatment, establishing the best therapeutic conduct and the remote supervision.

Abstract
The severe form of retroplacental hematoma is a serious accident in the second stage of pregnancy and at birth with frightening for the mother and fetus that often lead to death. The pathological mechanism presumes conditions for a "special ground" capital for the "efficiency" of the acute intradecidual vascular accident with the rupture of the uterus-placental arterioles. The complete clinical picture of this severe form of retroplacental hematoma - the placental abruption, observed and mentioned by the classics (vascular drama of Couvelaire) consists of five syndromes, 18 signs and symptoms, four paradoxes, phenomena not fully met in the other forms of retroplacental hematoma (minor and intermediate). The rate of incidence of retroplacental hematoma is in between 0.13-1.38% and depends on the environment, on the socio-economic and medical conditions, on the "obstetric education" and associated pathology. Our study aims at re-evaluating the clinico-paraclinical phenomenon imposed by the dramatism of the phenomenon of in utero placental apoplexy, the impact on neonatal mortality and on the functional prognosis from the point of view of surgical climax.

Abstract
Isolated splenic metastases from squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the cervix are rare, with few cases reported in the literature. We review here the main clinical and pathological findings in these patients, with emphasis on histopathological features. Because they are so rare, complex follow-up protocols for patients diagnosed with cervical SCC should exist because, if detected and treated, solitary splenic metastases seem to have a better prognosis than splenic metastases as part of a disseminated disease.

Abstract
The cervical cancer is the worldwide second neoplasia in women, after the breast cancer. The incidence of invasive carcinoma in pregnancy is 1÷2000 to 1÷10 000 pregnancies. In most of the studies, almost all the patients had microinvasive carcinoma or limited cervical carcinoma at the cervix level. In the uteroplacental apoplexy, pathologically, retroplacental hematoma is formed while the fetus is still in the uterus. When speaking about the uteroplacental apoplexy, the fetal mortality is 100% and the maternal mortality can reach 5%. The particularity of the presented case is the association of the invasive cervical neoplasm, pathology unknown to the patient, with uteroplacental apoplexy, diagnosis for which she was hospitalized as an emergency. After the extraction of the dead fetus by segmental-transversal cesarean section, we continued to perform the total hysterectomy with adnexectomy. The fetus, the placenta, the uterus and the ovaries were sent for histopathological examination. Subsequently, the histopathological bulletin revealed cervical lesions in the neck of type cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) I, CIN II, CIN III, metaplastic squamous epithelium and moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to compare the efficiency of classical trabeculectomy and with the punch and nonpenetrating deep-sclerectomy in patients with primary open angle glaucoma. The studied groups comprise patients with uncontrolled intra-ocular pressure with medical therapy and/or laser. The results of the study emphasize the following conclusions: the decrease of intra-ocular pressure is comparable in classical trabeculectomy and with punch the decrease of intra-ocular pressure is comparable in classical trabeculectomy and nonpenetrating surgery. we consider the non penetrating surgery an interesting alternative to the classical trabeculectomy, with better control of intra-ocular pressure the complications of non penetrating surgery are reduced.

Abstract
Lowering of the intraocular pressure--the main risk factor in glaucoma neuropathy--is the major goal in the treatment for primary open angle glaucoma. The goal of the study is to compare the results of topical administration of the next therapeutical agents: b-blockers, prostaglandin analogs, topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and selectives adrenergic a-2 agonists. The studied groups emphasize the efficiency of the first line monotherapy and of the combined therapy, maintaining the quality of life, preserving the visual function, the minimal side effects and the compliance of the patients.

Abstract
Bilateral papillary edema is considered to be the expression of a tumoral process that reduces the intracranial space resulting in elevation of the intracranial cerebrospinal fluid pressure. The authors present the case of a 21-year-old man consulting for mild visual loss of the left eye. The ophthalmologic examination showed bilateral papilledema and visual field defects in the left eye (enlargement of the blind spot), with no clinic or imagistic signs of increased intracranial pressure. Intracranial pathologic processes that bear like a tumor, reducing the intracranial space are not always associated with papilledema, but papilledema is always associated with intracranial tumor. Increased intracranial pressure is frequently associated with intracranial tumoral processes, but in this case was not showed increasing of intracranial pressure.
