Abstract
PURPOSES This study investigated the feasibility of adalimumab (ADA) dose reduction and withdrawal strategy in children with stable pediatric non-infectious uveitis (PNIU). METHODS This open-label prospective pilot trial recruited 18 stable PNIU patients (33 eyes) between two and eighteen years old who were treated with standard doses of ADA (20/40 mg every 2 weeks) plus oral methotrexate. The interval of ADA injection was extended to 4 weeks and followed up for 24 weeks. If the uveitis remained stable, ADA was discontinued and followed up for another 24 weeks. ADA was considered successfully stopped if no relapse occurred during this period. The relapse-free survival rate, best corrected visual acuity (BVCA), anterior chamber cell (ACC), vitritis, macular thickness (MT), and serum ADA levels were evaluated. Approval Number: 2021KYPJ201. RESULTS The relapse-free survival rate was 22.2% (4/18) at 48 weeks. 33.3% (6/18) of patients relapsed when ADA was given every 4 weeks, while 44.5% of patients (8/18) relapsed after ADA was stopped. The four patients successfully withdrawn from ADA were all diagnosed with BD. No statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) were observed in BCVA and MT between baseline and final follow-up. The proportion of ACC and vitritis exhibited an upward trend (p < 0.05) during follow-up. Serum ADA gradually decreased to zero during follow-up in both non-recurrence and recurrence groups. CONCLUSIONS In PNIU children who reached remission for 6 months, ADA dose reduction and withdrawal were associated with a high risk of inflammation recurrence. Timely adjustment of ADA to the last effective dosage frequency can regain control of the inflammation. Detection of ADA serum levels in patients with recurrence may help find the appropriate interval of ADA use.

Abstract
A highly enantioselective Mannich reaction of α-fluoroindanones with isatin-derived N-Boc-ketimines catalyzed by a quinine-derived phase-transfer catalyst was developed. A variety of 3-substituted 3-amino-2-oxindoles bearing fluorine-containing, vicinal, tetrasubstituted stereocenters were constructed using this protocol in high yields (83-95%), with moderate to excellent enantioselectivities (66-91%) and high diastereoselectivities (up to >99:1).

Abstract
The importance of individual consumption behavior in a low-carbon economy is gradually recognized. Social norms have a significant effect on individual purchase behavior. However, the influence mechanism of social norms still needs more research. We conducted two behavioral experiments to explore the specific factors: first, the effect of descriptive norms on personal low-carbon consumption behavior through feedback information, and second, a comparison with injunctive norms, focusing on the impact of the normative focus shift brought by punishment represented by the policy implementation. The results show that social norms can effectively promote individual low-carbon consumption through feedback and high policy implementation efficiency. In particular, after effective policy implementation becomes an inherent element of injunctive norms, injunctive norms are activated and become the focus of norms, significantly improving the purchase rate of low-carbon goods.

Abstract
Water, sediments, and biofilms are the typical microbial carriers in natural water environments. However, comparative analysis of the distribution of bacterial and fungal communities in different carriers within the same habitat is relatively lacking. Therefore, this study employed 16 S and ITS rRNA gene sequencing to identify bacterial and fungal community structures in water, sediments, and biofilm. The results show that (1) the OTUs numbers revealed that the bacterial abundance, at the levels of species, genus, and family, followed the order of sediments > water > biofilms, while the fungal abundance order was water > sediments > biofilms. In addition, bacteria were mainly present in sediments, while fungi were mainly present in water. (2) The α diversity index (Shannon, ACE, Simpson, and Chao1) order, for bacteria was: sediments > water > biofilms, indicating that the diversity and homogeneity of bacteria in sediments were relatively higher; for fungi was: water > sediments > biofilms, indicating that the diversity and abundance of fungi in water were high. (3) The core phylum of bacterial in the water, sediments, and biofilms was Cyanobacteria (31.3-46.1%) and Actinobacteria (27.6-36.1%); Proteobacteria (35.0-41.8%), Cyanobacteria (14.7-36.6%); and Proteobacteria (63.3-69.2%), respectively. (4) The mainly colonized fungal phyla in biofilms in the water, sediments, and biofilms were Basidiomycota (29.3-38.7%) and Ascomycota (16.2-27.7%); Zygomycota (13.1-17.5%), Basidiomycota (5.6-17.6%); and Zygomycota (23.8-44.2%). (5) There were significant species differences in bacterial and fungal communities in water, sediments, and biofilm by NMDS analysis. Findings are useful for guiding significance for the Biogeochemical cycle of elements, the environmental fate of pollutants, and the study of water ecosystems.

Abstract
The efficacy of osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been evaluated in glioblastoma (GBM) through preclinical and clinical trials. However, the underlying mechanism of osimertinib-induced GBM cell death and the underlying resistance mechanism to osimertinib remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that Osimertinib induces paraptosis in GBM cells, as evidenced by the formation of cytoplasmic vacuoles, accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins, and upregulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers like CHOP. Additionally, neither apoptosis nor autophagy was involved in the osimertinib-induced cell death. RNAseq analysis revealed ER stress was the most significantly downregulated pathway upon exposure to osimertinib. Consistently, pharmacologically targeting the PERK-eIF2α axis impaired osimertinib-induced paraptosis. Notably, we show that the expression of thyroid receptor-interacting protein 13 (TRIP13), an AAA+ATPase, alleviated osimertinib-triggered paraptosis, thus conferring resistance. Intriguingly, MK-2206, an AKT inhibitor, downregulated TRIP13 levels and synergized with Osimertinib to suppress TRIP13-induced high GBM cell growth in vitro and in vivo. Together, our findings reveal a novel mechanism of action associated with the anti-GBM effects of osimertinib involving ER stress-regulated paraptosis. Furthermore, we identify a TRIP13-driven resistance mechanism against Osimertinib in GBM and offer a combination strategy using MK-2206 to overcome such resistance.

Abstract
Research has shown that songs with prosocial lyrics can enhance individual prosociality. Building on the general learning model (GLM), this study demonstrated, through real-world charitable organizations, how songs with prosocial lyrics influence helping behavior that uses time as a currency. In Study 1, participants were randomly assigned to conditions of prosocial songs, prosocial lyrics, or neutral songs, and they were instructed to complete an online charity task. The results indicated that compared to the neutral songs, participants listening to prosocial songs and lyrics spent more time donating rice to the United Nations World Food Programme. This effect was replicated in Study 2, employing different media exposure from Study 1 (i.e., listening to background music). Furthermore, investigations into the underlying mechanisms revealed that this effect was mediated by interpersonal empathy. In summary, current findings suggest that songs with prosocial lyrics increase interpersonal empathy, subsequently influencing people's online charitable donation behaviors in daily life.

Abstract
Digital mindfulness-based interventions (d-MBIs) have garnered significant research interest in recent years due to their psychological benefits. However, little is known about their impact on prosocial behaviors. This study investigates how d-MBIs impact prosocial behaviors where time spent is money, with Chinese adolescents as the subjects, through an online charity task (www.freerice.com). 119 students from a high school in China, who were inexperienced with mindfulness meditation, participated in this randomized controlled trial. The d-MBI group (N = 39) received online MBI guidance, while the face-to-face mindfulness-based intervention (f-MBI, N = 43) group underwent mindfulness intervention under personal tutors. The active control group (N = 37) completed a crossword task. Data analysis first involved repeated measures variance analysis, including pre-and post-intervention assessments. Subsequently, a two-way variance analysis was performed, with gender (female and male) and group (d-MBI, f-MBI, active control) as independent variables and the number of grains as dependent variables for the three groups of participants. Results showed that d-MBIs effectively improved empathy and compassion in Chinese adolescents, leading to increased rice donations to the United Nations World Food Program. These results underscore the positive effect of d-MBIs on prosociality and suggest their applicability in beneficial real-world situations involving prosocial behaviors, extending beyond previous research primarily conducted in artificial and hypothetical scenarios.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum asprosin level and diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in community patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 498 patients with T2DM were recruited from Zhuoma Community Health Service Station and Chengbei West Street Community Health Service Center in Changzhi City of Shanxi Province between November 2019 and July 2021. Their height, weight, and body mass index (BMI), as well as fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), triglyceride (TG), and serum asprosin levels, were analyzed. Patients were divided into the DPN group (n = 329) and the non-DPN group (n = 169) according to the presence or absence of DPN. The t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and χ² test were used to compare the indicators between the two groups. Pearson or Spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between serum asprosin and other clinical data. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of DPN. RESULTS Compared with the non-DPN group, the DPN group had higher serum asprosin (p < 0.05). The prevalence of DPN gradually increased according to the tertiles of asprosin (56%, 67%, and 75%; p < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that after adjustment for covariates, patients with asprosin concentrations between 295.4-367.0 pg/ml and concentrations > 367.0 pg/ml had a higher risk of diabetic neuropathy compared than those with asprosin levels < 295.4 pg/ml (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Serum asprosin was found to be positively correlated with DPN, and it resulted as an influencing factor for DPN in patients with T2DM in the community. With the increase of asprosin, the risk of DPN also increased.

Abstract
The study utilizes the Chinese version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI-C) and a novelty intertemporal prosocial discounting paradigm to explore the preferences of individuals with the Present Impulsive Time Perspective (PITP) and the Future Time Perspective (FTP) in intertemporal prosocial choices, and uncovers the cognitive mechanisms underpinning intertemporal altruism from the personality traits. The findings revealed: (1) The donation behaviors of both groups decreased as time delay rose, aligning with the hyperbolic model. (2) PITP individuals had significantly higher discount rates than those with FTP, and the scores of FTP individuals on the "Future" dimension of the ZTPI-C were positively correlated with the amount of money they were willing to forgo. These results suggest that time perspective, as a stable personality trait, can predict individuals' intertemporal prosocial preferences. Our research enriches the theory of intertemporal choices and extends the Perceived-time-based model (PTBM) to the domain of intertemporal social preferences.

Abstract
Over the past few decades, acetaminophen (ACT), a typical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), has gained global usage, positioning itself as one of the most extensively consumed medications. However, the incomplete metabolism of ACT leads to a substantial discharge into the environment, classifying it as an environmental contaminant with detrimental effects on non-target organisms. Various wastewater treatment technologies have been developed for ACT removal to mitigate its potential environmental risk. Particularly, photocatalytic technology has garnered significant attention as it exhibits high efficiency in oxidizing and degrading a wide range of organic pollutants. This comprehensive review aims to systematically examine and discuss the application of photocatalytic technology for the removal of ACT from aqueous environments. Additionally, the study provides a detailed overview of the limitations associated with the photocatalytic degradation of ACT in practical applications, along with effective strategies to address these challenges.

Abstract
β-casein, a protein in milk and dairy products, has two main variant forms termed as A1 and A2. A1 β-casein may have adverse effects on humans. The fact that there is only one amino acid variation at the 67th position between A1 and A2 β-casein makes it difficult to distinguish between them. In this study, a novel method using characteristic thermolytic peptides is developed for the determination of A1 and A2 β-casein in milk. Firstly, caseins extracted from milk samples are thermolytic digested at 60 °C without any denaturing reagents required for unfolding proteins, which simplifies the sample pretreatment procedure. The characteristic thermolytic peptides (i.e., fragments 66-76 and 59-76 for A1 and A2 β-casein, respectively) selected to specifically distinguish A1 and A2 β-casein only have eleven or eighteen amino acid moieties. Compared with tryptic characteristic peptides with a length of 49 amino acid moieties, these shorter thermolytic characteristic peptides are more suitable for LC-MS analysis. This novel method, with the advantages of high specificity, high sensitivity, and high efficiency, was successfully applied for the analysis of six milk samples collected from a local supermarket. After further investigation, it is found that this method would contribute to the development of A2 dairy products for a company and the quality inspection of A2 dairy products for a government.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Highly predictive markers of drug treatment outcomes of tuberous sclerosis complex-related epilepsy are a key unmet clinical need. The objective of this study was to identify meaningful clinical and radiomic predictors of outcomes of epilepsy drug treatment in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 105 children with tuberous sclerosis complex-related epilepsy were enrolled in this retrospective study. The pretreatment baseline predictors that were used to predict drug treatment outcomes included patient demographic and clinical information, gene data, electroencephalogram data, and radiomic features that were extracted from pretreatment MR imaging scans. The Spearman correlation coefficient and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator were calculated to select the most relevant features for the drug treatment outcome to build a comprehensive model with radiomic and clinical features for clinical application. RESULTS Four MR imaging-based radiomic features and 5 key clinical features were selected to predict the drug treatment outcome. Good discriminative performances were achieved in testing cohorts (area under the curve = 0.85, accuracy = 80.0%, sensitivity = 0.75, and specificity = 0.83) for the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. The model of radiomic and clinical features resulted in favorable calibration curves in all cohorts. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggested that the radiomic and clinical features model may predict the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. Age of onset, infantile spasms, antiseizure medication numbers, epileptiform discharge in left parieto-occipital area of electroencephalography, and gene mutation type are the key clinical factors to predict the epilepsy drug treatment outcome. The texture and first-order statistic features are the most valuable radiomic features for predicting drug treatment outcomes.

Abstract
Understanding the metabolic disorders induced by nano- and microplastics in aquatic organisms at the molecular level could help us understand the potential toxicity of nano- and microplastics more thoroughly and provide a fundamental scientific basis for regulating the usage and management of plastic products. In this research, the effect of polypropylene nanoplastics (PP-NPs) and microplastics (PP-MPs) on metabolites in the tilapia liver was comprehensively investigated by internal extractive electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (iEESI-MS). A partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) and a one-component analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for selecting 46 differential metabolites, including phospholipids, amino acids, peptides, carbohydrates, alkaloids, purines, pyrimidines, and nucleosides. Pathway enrichment analysis showed significant effects on glycerophospholipid metabolism, arginine and proline metabolism, and aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis after tilapia were exposed to PP-N/MPs. Dysregulation of these metabolites is mainly reflected in the possible induction of hepatitis, oxidative stress, and other symptoms. The application of iEESI-MS technology without sample pretreatment to the study of metabolic disorders in aquatic organisms under the interference of nano- and microplastics provides a promising analytical method for environmental toxicology research.

Abstract
Residual antibiotics in wastewater threaten living organisms and the ecosystem, while the photocatalytic process is recognized as one of the most eco-friendly and promising technologies for the treatment of antibiotic wastewater. In this study, a novel Z-scheme Ag3PO4/1T@2H-MoS2 heterojunction was synthesized, characterized, and used for the visible-light-driven photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH). It was found that Ag3PO4/1T@2H-MoS2 dosage and coexisting anions had significant effects on the degradation efficiency, which could reach up to 98.9 % within 10 min under the optimal condition. Combing experiments and theoretical calculations, the degradation pathway and mechanism were thoroughly investigated. The excellent photocatalytic property of Ag3PO4/1T@2H-MoS2 was achieved attributed to the Z-scheme heterojunction structure, which remarkably inhibited the recombination of photoinduced electrons and holes. The potential toxicity and mutagenicity for TCH and generated intermediates were evaluated, which revealed the ecological toxicity of antibiotic wastewater was reduced effectively during the photocatalytic degradation process.

Abstract
The frog-in-the-pan (FIP) phenomenon suggests that investors are more sensitive to abrupt price changes than gradual price changes in the stock market. Based on the cognitive-evolutionary model of surprise and the reinforcement learning model, this paper provides a new explanation for the FIP phenomenon in that this phenomenon could be explained by the elicitation of surprise emotion. We predict that when a change substantially and abruptly occurs, the significant prediction error triggers participants' surprise, which makes participants more sensitive to the change. To ascertain these hypotheses, we recruited 109 participants and compared participants' learning rates and surprise responses under different contexts. We observed that participants' learning rate soared when the prediction error was large enough to trigger surprise emotion under abruptly changed conditions and confirmed that the FIP phenomenon could be explained by the elicitation of surprise emotion. In a word, this research demonstrates the significant role of surprise emotion in the decision-making process.

Introduction
The dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) score was developed to identify patients more likely to derive benefit (score ≥2) or harm (score <2) from DAPT beyond 1-year post PCI. There is no study which looked at the DAPT score and long term outcomes post PCI in Australia.
Purpose
We sought to examine long-term mortality after PCI by the DAPT score in patients treated with DAPT per local guidelines.
Methods
We examined data from the MIG PCI database from 2005 to 2018 in whom the DAPT score could be derived and grouped them as score ≥2 or <2. Long-term mortality was assessed from National Death Index linkage. The primary endpoint was long-term mortality examined using survival analysis. Secondary endpoints included 30-day ischaemic outcomes and in-hospital major bleeding.
Results
Out of 27,740 patients in the study, 9,401 (33.9%) had DAPT score ≥2. They were younger and included more females and higher prevalence of renal impairment. DAPT score ≥2 patients had higher in-hospital major bleeding, 30-day mortality, MI and target vessel revascularisation. DAPT score ≥2 patients had lower long-term survival to 12 years (p<0.001 for all).
Conclusion
A third of all-comer PCI patients had DAPT score ≥2 with greater short-term risk of ischaemic and bleeding outcomes, as well as long-term mortality. Theoretically, those with DAPT score ≥2 would benefit from longer duration of DAPT as ischaemic risk outweighs bleeding risk. However, given our finding of increased short-term bleeding risk and long-term mortality, dynamic bleeding risk assessment should be undertaken to guide pharmacotherapy strategies.

Abstract
Abstract
Objective
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement has become an established approach to treat severe symptomatic aortic stenosis in patients of all risk levels. Development of conduction abnormality and the need for a permanent pacemaker are known complications of TAVR. The introduction of third generation valves with cuffs has resulted in a significant decrease in post-deployment perivalvular regurgitation. However, there is concern for an increase in development of a new onset left bundle branch (LBBB) and the need for permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation. This study aimed to identify whether newer valve generations along with the move away from transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) guidance for valve deployment is associated with changes in frequency of conduction block.
Methods
601 consecutive patients who underwent transfemoral TAVR implantation with a balloon expandable valve in a native aortic valve at a single institution from July 2009 to March 2019 were included in the study. 40 patients with LBBB and 91 patients with pacemakers prior to TAVR were excluded from the LBBB analysis. Multivariate logistic regression was used to test for significance.
Results
New LBBB occurred significantly more frequently with the newer generation valves, 1st Gen 2/104 (1.9%), 2nd Gen 9/88 (10.2%), 3rd Gen 33/278 (11.9%) (p<0.01). There was no statistically significant increase in pacemakers across valve generations, 1st Gen 7/113 (6.2%), 2nd Gen 7/92 (7.6%), 3rd Gen 30/305 (9.8%). Use of TEE guidance had no effect on either LBBB or pacemaker. There was a strong trend (p=0.057) toward need for pacemaker as larger valves where used, with OR of pacemaker relative to 29 mm valve for 23 mm valve of 0.26 and for 26 mm valve of 0.63.
Conclusion
Newer TAVR valves, although beneficial in reducing perivalvular regurgitation, increases the risk of LBBB, without increasing risk need for pacemaker, suggesting possibly different mechanisms for the two complications. Understanding the mechanism for avoiding these complications may be important to avoiding them, as we move to a lower risk population where complication free results are even more important.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a new kind of regulated cell death that is characterized by highly iron-dependent lipid peroxidation. Cancer cells differ in their sensitivity to ferroptosis. Here we showed that the Suppressor of fused homolog (SUFU), a critical component in Hedgehog signaling, regulates ferroptosis sensitivity of breast cancer cells. Ectopic SUFU expression suppressed, whereas depletion of SUFU enhanced the sensitivity of breast cancer cells to RSL3-triggered ferroptosis through deregulation of ACSL4. Moreover, SUFU depletion promoted the activation of Yes-associated protein (YAP), thereby increasing the expression of ACSL4. Mechanistically, SUFU is associated with LATS1. Deletion of a region comprising residues 174–385 in SUFU disrupted SUFU binding to LATS1, thus abrogating SUFU-mediated downregulation of the YAP-ACSL4 axis and sensitivity to ferroptosis. Noteworthy, we showed that vincristine downregulated SUFU, thus increasing breast cancer cell sensitivity to RSL3 in vitro and in vivo. Together, our findings uncover SUFU as a novel regulator in ferroptosis sensitivity. Abstract
Despite growing interest in workplace dignity, there is a paucity of empirical research regarding whether and when it leads to higher job performance. To address these research gaps, this study examines the relationship between workplace dignity and job performance, identifying and examining the boundary condition role of workplace inclusion. Multi-source and time-lagged data were obtained from employee–supervisor dyads (n = 169) in non-governmental organizations in Pakistan to test the hypothesized model, employing techniques, such as confirmatory factor analysis, moderated multiple regression, post-hoc slope, and Johnson–Neyman analyses. As predicted, workplace dignity and workplace inclusion positively influenced employees’ job performance, while workplace inclusion moderated the dignity-performance relationship such that this relationship was more strongly positive when workplace inclusion was high. At the theoretical level, this study adds new insights to the job demands-resources (JD-R) model, which is used as theoretical lens in this study. Specifically, this study is the first to examine workplace dignity and its consequences from the perspective of the JD-R model, thus introducing a new theoretical perspective into the dignity literature. This study also provides useful advice for management practice, policymaking, and employees, and is germane to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 8.

Abstract
Fine particulate matter (named PM2.5) has become a prominent and dangerous form of air pollution. The chemical composition of PM2.5 mainly includes inorganic elements, water soluble ions, elemental carbon (EC), organic carbon (OC), and organic compounds. The detection method for inorganic elements mainly includes X ray fluorescence, inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry, and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. As for water soluble ions, ion chromatography is the most common detection method. EC and OC are usually detected by carbon analyzer. The organic compounds are determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. In this paper, the merits and drawbacks of each analytical methods for the determination of PM2.5 chemical composition are summarized. This review also includes our discussion on the improvement of the analytical accuracy for the determination of PM2.5 chemical composition owing to the development of reference materials.

Abstract
This article explores how experienced regret and relief evoked in a risky gambling task influence subsequent intertemporal pro-social behavior. We apply a dictator game experiment with delayed rewards to investigate the effect on donating behavior by simultaneously the time delay when the recipient accepts the donation and the emotions experienced by the participant. We examine this effect using a choice titration procedure. The results reveal that independent of the prior experienced emotions, participants’ donations decrease as the time delay rises; the hyperbolic model provides a better explanation of this finding. Significantly, experienced regret impacts the shape of the social discount function with delayed rewards, which is reflected in notably different discount rates. Participants who experienced regret exhibit a lower discount rate than those in the relief condition. Note that this distinct type of generosity differs significantly at the 14-day delay but not at the shortest and longest. It follows that regret can promote future altruism and intertemporal pro-social behavior, depending on the delay.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical and pathologic features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of congenital hemangioma (CH). Methods: Forty cases of CH were diagnosed from January 2017 to December 2020 in Henan Provincial People's Hospital. The clinical and pathological and immunohistochemical data were analyzed, with review of literature. Results: There were 24 male and 16 female patients. The lesions were located in the head, neck (11 cases), limbs (14 cases), and trunk (15 cases). The clinical manifestations were congenital painless plaques or masses, the larger ones protruded on the skin surface, mostly dusky purple or bright red, with surrounding white halos. Under low magnification, the tumor was lobular and well demarcated, composed of neo-microvascular lumen of different sizes. The vascular endothelial cells were cuboidal or hobnail in appearance, forming stellar drainage vessels within the lobules. Extra-medullary hematopoiesis was seen in one case of rapidly involuting CH; there were different number of tortuous and dilated vascular lumen between the lobular structures, and some non-involuting CH cases were vascular malformations, which were devoid of lobulated structures. Immunohistochemistry showed that endothelial cells were strongly positive for CD31, CD34 and ERG, while D2-40 and GLUT-1 were negative. Conclusions: CH is a benign congenital vascular tumor with characteristic lobulated growth and abnormal blood vessels in the stroma. Pathological diagnosis often needs to be differentiated from infantile hemangioma, pyogenic granuloma, kaposiform hemangioendothelioma and vascular malformation.

A highly enantioselective aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction of 1H-indoles with isatin-derived N-Cbz-ketimines catalyzed by quinine-derived phase-transfer catalysts was developed. A series of chiral 3-aminobisindole compounds containing a tetrasubstituted stereocenter were constructed by this protocol in high yields (82-91%) and moderate to excellent enantioselectivities (46-94% ee).

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, and differential diagnosis of verrucous hemangioma (VH). Methods: Twenty-eight VH cases diagnosed from 2005 to 2020 in Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou, China were analyzed retrospectively. Immunohistochemical studies were used to detect diagnostic markers. The mutation status of PIK3CA (exons 9 and 20) was detected using fluorescence PCR. Results: There were 13 males and 15 females in 28 cases, with the male to female ratio of 1.0∶1.2. There were 25 patients under the age of 18 years. The age range was from 10 months to 56 years (mean, 9.7 years; median, 4.5 years). There were 17 cases occurred in the lower extremities, 7 in the upper extremities and 4 in the trunk. All 28 cases were irregular red patches on the skin, which grew slowly. Some of them were thickened with uneven surface, which was light pink or red-white. Skin lesions of the 7 cases ranged from dark red and reddish brown, with a rough and hard surface. Satellite foci were present. Microscopically, 28 cases had a wide range of pathological features. Dilated, malformed vessels were observed from dermal papilla to deep soft tissue. Among them, the dermal papillary layer was mainly composed of many proliferating and expanding thin-walled capillaries and cavernous blood vessels. Thin-walled small vessels were found in the dermal reticular layer and subcutaneous fascia layer, with no obvious endothelial cell proliferation, occasional papillary hyperplasia, and lobular distribution of the malformed vessels in the fascia layer mixed with the fibroadipose tissue. There was epidermal papillary hyperplasia with hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis, lengthening and mutual fusion of epithelial horns. Immunohistochemistry showed that CD31, CD34, ERG and WT-1 were diffusely and strongly positive. The expression of GLUT-1 was present in superficial dermal vascular endothelial cells, but undetectable in the deep layer. The PIK3CA tests of 13 cases showed that no somatic mutations were found in exons 9 and 20. Twenty-five patients were followed up for 5 months to 10 years. Seven patients underwent multiple surgical resections and plastic surgeries due to the large size, and 8 patients had recurrence. Conclusions: VH is a rare congenital vascular malformation and more commonly occurs in infants and children. It tends to appear in limbs, especially lower limbs and distal limbs. Its morphology and immunophenotype are characteristic and should be distinguished from other vascular malformations and the resolution phase of infant hemangiomas. In about one third of the cases, postoperative recurrence may occur and long-term follow-up is often required.

Abstract
Conventional copper (Cu) metal surfaces are well recognized for their bactericidal properties. However, their slow bacteria-killing potency has historically excluded them as a rapid bactericidal material. We report the development of a robust bulk superhydrophilic micro-nano hierarchical Cu structure that possesses exceptional bactericidal efficacy. It resulted in a 4.41 log10 reduction (>99.99%) of the deadly Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) bacteria within 2 min vs. a 1.49 log10 reduction (96.75%) after 240 min on common Cu surfaces. The adhered cells exhibited extensive blebbing, loss of structural integrity and leakage of vital intracellular material, demonstrating the rapid efficacy of the micro-nano Cu structure in destructing bacteria membrane integrity. The mechanism was attributed to the synergistic degradation of the cell envelope through enhanced release and therefore uptake of the cytotoxic Cu ions and the adhesion-driven mechanical strain due to its rapid ultimate superhydrophilicity (contact angle drops to 0° in 0.18 s). The scalable fabrication of this micro-nano Cu structure was enabled by integrating bespoke precursor alloy design with microstructure preconditioning for dealloying and demonstrated on 2000 mm2 Cu surfaces. This development paves the way to the practical exploitation of Cu as a low-cost antibiotic-free fast bactericidal material.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the role of cell cycle checkpoint kinase 1/2 (CHK1/2) in mediating the inhibitory effect of oxymatrine (OMT) against renal inflammation and fibrosis in diabetic rats. METHODS SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, diabetes model group (DM) and OMT treatment group (n=6). HE and Masson staining were used to observe histopathological changes of the renal tissue, and the expressions of CHK1, CHK2, p-CHK1 and p-CHK2 were localized by immunohistochemical staining. The contents of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-1β in the renal tissue were detected using ELISA, and the expression levels of CHK1, CHK2, p-CHK1, p-CHK2, type Ⅲ collagen (Col-Ⅲ), type Ⅳ collagen (Col-Ⅳ), and fibronectin (FN) were determined using Western blotting. The changes in the expressions of CHK1, CHK2, p-CHK1, p-CHK2, Col-Ⅲ, Col-Ⅳ and FN proteins were also examined with Western blotting in NRK-52E cells in response to high glucose exposure, OMT treatment and siRNA-mediated CHK1/2 knockdown. RESULTS In diabetic rats, OMT treatment significantly decreased the levels of blood glucose, serum creatinine and 24 h urinary protein (P < 0.05) and obviously improved inflammatory cell infiltration and fibrosis phenotype in the renal tissue (P < 0.05). CHK1 and CHK2 were mainly expressed in the cytoplasm and nuclei of renal tubule cells, and their phosphorylation levels were significantly higher in DM group than in the control group and OMT group. OMT treatment significantly decreased the protein expression levels of p-CHK1, p-CHK2, Col-Ⅲ, Col-Ⅳ and FN in the renal tissue of diabetic rats and in NRK-52E cells exposed to high glucose (P < 0.05). In NRK-52E cells, CHK1/2 knockdown resulted in significant reduction of the protein expressions of p-CHK1/2, Col-Ⅲ, Col-Ⅳ and FN (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The inhibitory effects of OMT against renal inflammation and fibrosis in diabetic rats are mediated probably by lowered phosphorylation levels of CHK1 and CHK2, which result in reduced release of the downstream inflammatory mediators and decreased secretion and deposition of extracellular matrix.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the role of miR-671-5p in regulating the migration and invasion of osteosarcoma and the underlying mechanisms. METHODS The differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) in osteosarcoma were screened in the NCBI online database, and the target proteins of these miRNAs were predicted and their functions were analyzed. Osteosarcoma cells were transfected with a plasmid overexpressing miR-671-5p, and the transfection efficiency was assessed using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The changes in the migration and invasion of the transfected cells were examined with Transwell assay, and the expressions of proteins related with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) were detected using Western blotting. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was performed to determine whether the 3'UTR of SMAD3 contained a targeted binding site of miR-671-5p. RESULTS MiR-671-5p was significantly down-regulated in both osteosarcoma tissues and osteosarcoma cells (P < 0.05). The osteosarcoma cells overexpressing miR-671-5p showed significantly reduced migration and invasion abilities (P < 0.05) with obviously lowered expressions of EMT-related proteins (P < 0.05). SMAD3 was highly expressed in osteosarcoma cells (P < 0.05), and dual-luciferase reporter assay confirmed the presence of a targeted binding site between miR-671-5p and the 3'UTR of SMAD3 (P < 0.05). In osteosarcoma cells transfected with a SMAD3-overexpressing plasmid (P < 0.05), the high expression of SMAD3 significantly inhibited by miR-671-5p overexpression (P < 0.05). Transwell assay demonstrated that SMAD3 overexpression significantly promoted the migration and invasion of osteosarcoma cells (P < 0.05), and while miR-671-5p overexpression obviously reversed this effect (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION MiR-671-5p can inhibit the invasion and migration of osteosarcoma cells by negatively regulating SMAD3.

Abstract
Excessive autophagy-induced follicular atresia of ovarian granulosa cells might be one of the pathogenesis of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), and melatonin (MT) exerted many beneficial effects on mitochondria. However, there was little report regarding the beneficial effects of MT on excessive autophagy-induced mitochondrial and ovarian reserve function deficiency, and the mechanisms have not been clearly identified. Autophagy played a protective role in cells survival, however, high level of autophagy could lead to cell death. In this report, firstly, Chinese hamster ovary cell damage model stably expressing EGFP-LC3 was established. Next, we systematically investigated the protective effects of MT on mitochondrial and ovarian reserve function and molecular mechanisms using this cell damage model. Our results revealed that 10-9 M MT not only protected against the decline of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) expression induced by excessive autophagy, but also rescued excessive autophagy-induced impairment of mitochondrial expression and mitochondrial membrane potential. Furthermore, MT protected against excessive autophagy-induced decrease of nucleus-encoded proteins including SDHA and mitofilin, and mitochondrial dynamic-related proteins including OPA1, MFN2, and DRP1. MT also decreased mitochondrial oxidative stress, increased antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) expression and ameliorated the G2/M cell cycle arrest induced by excessive autophagy. Finally, MT inhibited excessive autophagy-induced activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway. In conclusion, our study showed that MT rescued impairment of mitochondrial and ovarian reserve function, and production of mitochondrial ROS and cell cycle arrest induced by excessive autophagy through down-regulated ERK pathway, implying the potential therapeutic drug target for POI.

Abstract
We investigate the magnetic properties of a chemically heterogeneous binary-main-phase (BMP) Nd-Ce-Fe-B magnet with a core-shell structure via micromagnetic simulation. It is found that the coercivity strongly depends on the shell thickness. The BMP magnet's coercivity initially increases and then decreases with increasing Nd-rich shell thickness, and so there is the optimal shell thickness which shows the maximum coercivity for any given Ce concentration. The simulation shows the significant difference in coercivity and maximum energy product between the BMP and single-main-phase magnets. Notably, the magnetization reversal mechanism of the BMP magnet is revealed in the simulation. Local reversals in the BMP magnet first occur in the Ce-rich shells, followed by the Nd-rich cores. Then, the magnetization in Ce-rich core/Nd-rich shell typed grains is switched after reversed magnetization of all the Nd-rich core/Ce-rich shell typed grains. The BMP magnet represents a further increased coercivity for a larger GB thickness, which can be well explained by a maximum stray field.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To design novel antimicrobial peptides with high activity and low toxicity and evaluate their effect against Streptococcus mutans and other oral bacteria for prevention and treatment of dental caries. OBJECTIVE We synthesized two antimicrobial peptides (KR-1 and KR-2) using Dhvar4 (a histatins5 mimic) as the template. The antimicrobial peptides with high activity and low toxicity were screened using minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) test, hemolysis test, and CCK-8 assay. Streptococcus mutans biofilms cultured in 96-well plates were divided into experimental group (KR-1) and positive control group (CHX) and treated with concentration gradients (0.6×, 0.8×, 1× and 2× MICs) of KR-1 and CHX, respectively. Crystal violet staining was used for quantitative analysis of the changes of the biofilms after the treatments. The structural changes of the biofilms were observed with laser confocal microscopy after KR-1 treatment at 10 × MIC. The antimicrobial activity of KR-1 against oral Streptococcus was analyzed based on the time required for sterilization after KR-1 treatment. OBJECTIVE The MIC of KR-1 and KR-2 for S. mutans was 3.2 μmol/L and 12.8 μmol/L, respectively. Under the effective concentration, KR-1 and KR-2 resulted in hemolysis rates of 0.35% and 48.8% in rabbit red blood cells and lowered the survival rates of gingival fibroblasts to 88.7% and 21.94%, respectively. KR-1 treatment significantly reduced biofilm formation with a minimum biofilm inhibition concentration (MBIC50) lower than 1.92 μmol/L, and showed an even stronger antimicrobial than CHX at the concentration of 2.56 μmol/L (P=0.001). Confocal laser scanning microscopy revealed that the biofilm structure became loosened after KR-1 treatment, which was capable of killing about 90% of the bacteria within 5 min. OBJECTIVE The antimicrobial peptide KR-1 has a stronger antibacterial activity and a low toxicity with a good inhibitory effect against S. mutans biofilm.

Abstract
Exploring the metabolic disturbance of fipronil and its derivatives in aquatic organisms may provide a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of fipronil on the ecological environment. In this work, internal extractive electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (iEESI-MS) was used to directly analyze metabolites in the liver tissue of zebrafish exposed to fipronil and its three derivatives. Partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) revealed that 32 signals were considered as differential signals in zebrafish after the exposure treatment of fipronil and its derivatives, including phosphatidylcholines (PCs), lysophosphatidylcholines (LPCs), phosphatidylethanolamines (PEs), fatty acids and so on. The pathway analysis result showed that both fipronil and its derivatives have a significant impact on the glycerophospholipid metabolism of zebrafish. Besides, the intensities of PC signals in the liver samples of each group showed such a trend: mixed fiprole exposed group > fipronil sulfone exposed group ≈ fipronil sulfide exposed group > fipronil exposed group > fipronil desulfinyl exposed group > control group, indicating that mixed exposure of fipronil and its derivatives exhibited more significant metabolic disturbance in zebrafish. Taken together, iEESI-MS is applied to environmental toxicology and investigating the metabolic disturbance induced by fipronil and its derivatives in aquatic organisms, providing a new analytical method for this field.

Abstract
Increased use and improved methodology of carbonate clumped isotope thermometry has greatly enhanced our ability to interrogate a suite of Earth-system processes. However, interlaboratory discrepancies in quantifying carbonate clumped isotope (Δ47) measurements persist, and their specific sources remain unclear. To address interlaboratory differences, we first provide consensus values from the clumped isotope community for four carbonate standards relative to heated and equilibrated gases with 1,819 individual analyses from 10 laboratories. Then we analyzed the four carbonate standards along with three additional standards, spanning a broad range of δ47 and Δ47 values, for a total of 5,329 analyses on 25 individual mass spectrometers from 22 different laboratories. Treating three of the materials as known standards and the other four as unknowns, we find that the use of carbonate reference materials is a robust method for standardization that yields interlaboratory discrepancies entirely consistent with intralaboratory analytical uncertainties. Carbonate reference materials, along with measurement and data processing practices described herein, provide the carbonate clumped isotope community with a robust approach to achieve interlaboratory agreement as we continue to use and improve this powerful geochemical tool. We propose that carbonate clumped isotope data normalized to the carbonate reference materials described in this publication should be reported as Δ47 (I-CDES) values for Intercarb-Carbon Dioxide Equilibrium Scale.

Abstract
From 2018 to 2019, 3 453 cases of high-risk population were screened by the Cancer Screening Program in Urban China (CanSPUC) in Hebei Province, with the age of (53.94±8.00). 147 and 686 cases of breast cancer positive and suspicious positive patients were found, with the positive rate and suspicious positive rate of 4.26% and 19.87% respectively. The suspicious positive rate of 45-49 years old age group was the highest (28.32%), and the positive rate of over 70 years old age group was the highest (7.32%). The positive detection rate of mammography combined with ultrasound was 5.16%, which was higher than that of ultrasound alone (2.46%) (χ²=30.28,P<0.001) or mammography alone (3.06%) (χ²=14.56,P<0.001).

Abstract
Metal contamination of skin care products that occurs during their production poses potential health risks, which are of increasing concern, to consumers. Here, we collected 570 responses to an online survey to analyze the usage pattern of skin care products across China. Then a total of 30 commonly used skin care products with various prices and applications were purchased. The concentrations of metals (Al, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cr, Pb, Hg, and Cd) and metalloid As, were determined. Next, we improved the frequency calculation method and used the weighted exposure frequency to calculate the dermal absorption dose (DAD). The amounts of Zn, Cr, and Al that were assimilated by the human body via uptake were approximately 2 orders of magnitude greater than those of Pb, Hg, Cd, Ni and metalloid As. In addition, younger consumers were at higher risk of metals exposure than older consumers because of their higher frequency of use of skin care products. Al and Zn posed higher risk to consumers because of its high DAD. There was no significant chronic non-carcinogenic health risk (hazard index < 1) posed by skincare product use.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics of patients with pituitary thyrotropin-secreting adenoma and evaluate the effect of preoperative short-acting octreotide treatment on hyperthyroidism. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed in 40 patients with pituitary thyrotropin adenoma diagnosed in Beijing Tiantan Hospital from January 2008 to January 2018. The general data, laboratory examinations and imaging findings were reviewed and analyzed. The clinical effect of preoperative octreotide on hyperthyroidism was evaluated. Results: The age of onset year of the 40 patients (male: female = 24∶16) was (30.5±5.1) years. Among them, 35 patients (87.5%) were with macroadenoma. The most common symptoms were thyroid hypermetabolism syndrome, followed by headache, dizziness, visual field damage and hypogonadism. The thyroid function of 30 patients (75%) recovered to normal within 3-5 days after the octreotide treatment. The total effective rate of the octreotide was 90.0%. The level of free thyroxine (FT4) before treatment in patients with more than 10 times of effective cumulative dose was significantly higher than that in patients with less than 10 doses. Conclusions: Thyroid hypermetabolism syndrome and pituitary occupying effect are the most common clinical manifestations of thyrotropin-secreting adenoma. Preoperative octreotide treatment can effectively control hyperthyroidism. The level of FT4 is a crucial factor affecting the efficacy of octreotide.
