Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study if the number of trophectoderm (TE) biopsied cells has an impact on implantation rates. DESIGN A retrospective cohort study in a single-center study. SETTING In vitro fertilization center. PATIENTS Patients who underwent PGT-A from January 2013 to March 2016. In total, 482 vitrified/warmed single embryo transfers were included. INTERVENTIONS None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Clinical pregnancies rate, implantation rate. RESULTS Overall, clinical pregnancies per embryo transfer were higher when a regular TE were biopsied compared to larger size biopsy cells (66% (175/267) vs 53% (115/215) (p < 0.005) respectively). Pregnancy rates were also analyzed according to embryo morphology at the moment of embryo biopsy, when a good-quality embryo was transferred the clinical outcome was 75% (81/108) in group 1 and 61% (60/99) in group 2 (p < 0.05). Data was also stratified by age in patients ≤ 35 years and > 35 years. The clinical pregnancy was 67% (51/76) in women ≤ 35 years and 65% (124/191) in women > 35 years when a regular size biopsy was performed. These results significantly reduced when a larger size biopsy was performed 54% (49/91) and 53% (66/124), respectively (p < 0.05). Further investigation indicated that miscarriage rate was similar between these groups (4% (7/182) in group 1 and 5% (6/121) in group 2). CONCLUSIONS These findings underscore that when a large amount of TE cells are biopsied, it may negatively affect implantation rates, but once implanted, the embryos have the same chance to miscarry or reach term.

Abstract
Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pavon, along with other several species, is an edible-tuber crop that grows in the Andean region. Folk medicine describes the use of mashua to reduce reproductive function in men. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of mashua (1 g kg(-1)) on sperm production in rats during 7, 12, 21 and 42 days of treatment. The following parameters were assessed: reproductive organ weights, spermatid count and daily sperm production (DSP), sperm count in epididymis and sperm transit and serum testosterone levels. Freeze-dried extract of mashua had 3.7 g 100 g(-1) of benzyl glucosinolate. Mashua-treated rats showed a reduction in testicular spermatid number and DSP from day 12 to day 42; meanwhile, the effect of mashua was noted in epididymal sperm count after 12 and 42 days of treatment. In addition, epididymal sperm transit time was delayed at day 7 and it was accelerated on days 12 and 21 of treatment. No differences in serum testosterone levels were found between rats treated with vehicle and mashua after 42 days of treatment. Finally, mashua reduces testicular function after one spermatogenic cycle by reducing spermatid and sperm number, DSP and epididymal sperm transit time.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We investigated the efficacy and safety of anastrozole as neoadjuvant therapy in a group of postmenopausal patients with locally-advanced breast cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS This was an open-label trial, which recruited patients with histopathologically-confirmed unilateral, locally-advanced, estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer (stage IIIA/B). All patients received anastrozole 1 mg/day for 3 months, after which the clinical response was evaluated. All patients with a complete or partial clinical response (cCR or cPR) underwent surgery (radical modified mastectomy), after which patients continued with the same therapy for two years or until progression. Primary end points were clinical response rate (cCR + cPR), surgery rate, pathological complete response rate and tolerability profile. RESULTS cCR and cPR were seen in 61/112 (54.5%) and 32/112 (28.6%) patients (n=112), respectively, giving an objective response rate of 93/112 (83%) patients. Following surgery in responding patients, 14/61 patients (23%) had a pathological CR and 47/61 (77%) patients had a pathological PR. CONCLUSION Neoadjuvant anastrozole treatment was highly effective and well-tolerated in postmenopausal women with hormone-dependent locally-advanced breast cancer.
