Men's experience of caring for a family member with cancer: a theory based on data

OBJECTIVE

to understand the meaning attributed by men to the experience of caring for their family member with cancer and to develop a substantive theory that represents the experience of men caring for their family member with cancer.

METHOD

this is qualitative research guided by the methodological framework of Grounded Theory and the precepts of Symbolic Interactionism. A form with identification and interview data was used. The analysis followed the substantive and theoretical coding stages.

RESULTS

12 male caregivers of their family member with cancer participated. The constant comparative analysis of the data allowed the creation of a substantive theory "Experiencing the care of a family member with cancer: men as a caregivers" explaining the experience that has as its central category "The love that drives care", representing the symbolic actions and attitudes of men living in the context of illness due to cancer and care.

CONCLUSION

the theory allowed us to understand feelings, perceptions, ways of acting and facing the diagnosis, providing care, recognizing difficulties and learning from the situations that arise, making explicit the interactional processes and symbolic elements present and how these influence male caregivers in their actions and attitudes.

Integrative and complementary practices in health, nurses' profile and care provided to people with hypertension: a mixed study design

to analyze the profile of nurses regarding integrative and complementary practices in health (ICPH) and understand how they are used in the care of people with arterial hypertension. mixed-methods sequential explanatory design. The cross-sectional quantitative stage included 386 nurses who completed an online questionnaire addressing sociodemographic and professional information, training, and practice, with a descriptive and inferential analysis. The qualitative stage was performed via 18 online interviews with professionals who had ICPH training and implemented it in the care provided to individuals with hypertension, with a participatory analysis. Integration occurred through a connecting approach. 36.8% had ICPH training; most were women, Caucasian, married, public servants, aged 37 (+ 9.4) on average; 14.2% incorporated ICPH into the care provided to people with hypertension; predominantly auriculotherapy (28.2%) and bloodletting in hypertensive crises. The results show that nurses integrally approached patients, and their approach was not limited to the vital sign altered at the time, but they also intervened in anxiety, stress, sleep, and rest. A potentiality observed concerns support treatment adherence. the profile of nurses with ICPH training is presented, and such practice has implications for lowering blood pressure. ICPH has been incorporated into the care of people with hypertension, but its use is still incipient, considering its potential in nursing care.

Fatores de risco cardiovascular, saberes e práticas de cuidado de mulheres: possibilidade para rever hábitos

Resumo Objetivo investigar fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares e compreender as práticas de cuidado de mulheres. Método paralelo convergente misto. A etapa quantitativa foi transversal descritiva com formulário abordando características demográficas, socioeconômicas, fatores de risco cardiovascular, hábitos de vida e saúde, participaram 289 mulheres e aplicou-se estatística descritiva. A etapa qualitativa foi fundamentada na pesquisa participativa, exploratória descritiva, mediante entrevista semiestruturada, técnica de criatividade e sensibilidade e narrativas, com 30 mulheres. Resultados identificaram-se fatores como sedentarismo (60,9%), uso do anticoncepcional (57,9%), estresse (60,6%), depressão (40,1%), obesidade (38,8%), hipertensão arterial (33,6%), consumo de bebida alcoólica (29,8%), cigarro (16,6%), dislipidemia (25,6%) e diabetes (10,0%). Quanto aos saberes e práticas de cuidado, as participantes mencionaram os fatores, porém algumas relataram realizar os cuidados, e outras não, mesmo reconhecendo os riscos. Assim, compartilharam a falta de tempo para realizar exercícios físicos, dificuldades para cuidar da alimentação e aderir ao tratamento anti-hipertensivo e, ainda, relataram sentirem-se estressadas. Conclusão e implicações para a prática identificaram-se fatores modificáveis e as mulheres possuíam conhecimento acerca destes, entretanto divergiam sobre os cuidados, demonstrando a importância de ações voltadas a essa população.

Communication in health and inter-professional collaboration in the care for children with chronic conditions

a multicentric qualitative research. Data collection, carried out through interviews and observation, occurred from October 2017 to February 2018. For data organization, the NVivo software, version 12, was used. These data were analyzed from a dialectical perspective.

Results:

a total of 79 professionals were interviewed, including physicians and nurses in the Family Health Strategy. Essential markers for inter-professionality stand out, such as multi-institutional communication; the historical and political context of the municipalities; the bond between staff and families with children with chronic conditions; and active and purposeful communication.

Conclusion:

inter-professional collaboration is strengthened when the therapeutic plan of the child with a chronic condition is coordinated by the Family Health Strategy, plus the intention of communicating with the secondary sector. It is considered that the research included important issues, contributing to planning the work process in the Family Health Strategy.

Therapeutic itinerary of elderly people with diabetes mellitus: implications for nursing care

OBJECTIVE

to describe the therapeutic itinerary of elderly people with diabetes mellitus registered at Family Health Strategy units.

METHODS

qualitative and descriptive study carried out with 15 elderly people with diabetes mellitus between February and April 2019 by applying semi-structured interviews with the participants. Data were submitted to analysis of Minayo's operational proposal.

RESULTS

in the folk care subsystem, the use of medicinal herbs, healers, and faith was emphasized by the participants. In the professional care subsystem, Family Health Strategy units were the services with the strongest bond to elderly people, but these patients still had to resort to the private healthcare network. Family proved to be the main source of support in the popular care subsystem.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

nursing must acknowledge the different types of knowledge, coping strategies, beliefs, and the culture of elderly people with diabetes mellitus to guarantee the delivery of comprehensive care.

Work accidents with children and youth in a rural environment in southern Brazil

OBJECTIVE

to know the prevalence of occupational accidents in children and youth who work with their families in the rural environment and to identify the associated factors.

METHOD

exploratory, descriptive and analytical study with quantitative approach, developed in three rural areas. Participants were 211 children and young people who assisted the family in rural work. Data collection was performed using a semi-structured questionnaire. Bivariate analysis was performed using Pearson's chi-square, Fisher's exact, Student's t and Mann-Whitney tests and multivariate analysis using Poisson regression.

RESULTS

the prevalence of self-reported occupational accidents was 55%. It was highlighted: insect bites (44%), burns (40.5%), falls (27.6%), injury with a working tool (16.4%), electric shock (15.5 %), burn by animal (8.6%), animal bite (6.9%) and pesticide poisoning (2.6%). These were related to shared housing, leisure activity - riding a motorcycle, product resulting from lettuce cultivation and use of personal protective equipment.

CONCLUSION

it is believed that these findings may enhance the development of public policies aimed at preserving the health of these children and young people, regulate working conditions and reduce occupational risks in the rural environment.

Noções básicas de primeiros socorros: relato de experiência de um projeto de extensão rural

Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de discentes do Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET) da graduação em Enfermagem no desenvolvimento de capacitações acerca de noções básicas de primeiros socorros em área rural. Síntese dos dados: Trata-se de um relato de experiência a partir da vivência prática de discentes do PET Enfermagem de uma universidade da região central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brasil, no desenvolvimento de capacitações acerca dos primeiros socorros para produtores rurais. As atividades ocorreram de agosto de 2016 a dezembro de 2017. Realizaram-se encontros nos municípios de Toropi, Dilermando de Aguiar, Ivorá, Silveira Martins e Faxinal do Soturno, localizados na região central do RS. Os temas abordados foram: choques elétricos, acidentes com animais peçonhentos, intoxicação por agrotóxicos, queimaduras, obstrução de vias áreas, afogamento e parada cardiorrespiratória (PCR). Acredita-se que atividades extramuros da universidade, promovidas por meio de projetos de extensão, propiciam ao discente complementar a sua formação, enquanto profissional da saúde, ao mesmo tempo que fomentam as ações de educação em saúde, facilitando o acesso à informação de populações rurais, caracterizadas, muitas vezes, com baixo nível de conhecimento devido ao difícil acesso. Conclusão: Ações educativas, como as descritas neste relato, possibilitam a troca de saberes entre os envolvidos, promovendo a disseminação de conhecimento acerca das situações de emergência e também o desenvolvimento das habilidades relacionadas às práticas de enfermagem. A capacitação da população leiga nesse assunto possui extrema importância no atendimento inicial em situações de emergência.

Nursing consultation for people with diabetes mellitus: experience with an active methodology

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe our experience with a methodology for teaching nursing consultation in support of people with diabetes mellitus at a Family Health Unit. Method: experience report with four moments—submission of the proposal to the team; theorizing; nursing care for people with diabetes mellitus at home and at the health unit, and evaluation of learning. Results: the pedagogical process favored the integration between service and users, contributed to implement and apply the nursing process and strengthened professional training, based on the epidemiological profile of chronic diseases and its implications for nursing in primary care. Final considerations: the active methodology discussed here allowed for a resignification of knowledge and a qualification of nursing care, demonstrating to be an important instrument for integrating clinical practice and epidemiology in accordance to experienced reality.

Estresse ocupacional e cultura de segurança: tendências para contribuição e construção do conhecimento em enfermagem

O estresse é considerado um dos fatores que mais atinge os profissionais de enfermagem, podendo repercutir na cultura de segurança e desfavorecer a assistência prestada. O objetivo do presente estudo foi identificar e caracterizar as tendências das teses e dissertações em enfermagem produzidas no Brasil, acerca da temática do estresse ocupacional da equipe de enfermagem associado à cultura de segurança. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão narrativa. A busca foi realizada no portal de teses e dissertações da CAPES, no mês de maio de 2017, sem recorte temporal. Houve predominância de dissertações, com abordagem quantitativa, no ano de 2015, na região sul. A fragilidade da cultura de segurança foi identificada nos estudos voltados à segurança do paciente. Os resultados apontaram, ainda, fragilidades nas ações desenvolvidas e a necessidade de implantar estratégias que colaborassem para uma melhor assistência em saúde. Ainda, o estresse ocupacional foi reconhecido, por parte dos profissionais como influência negativa no trabalho. Desvendou-se, também, como uma tendência das produções, a predominância de estudos de cultura de segurança em unidades hospitalares fechadas.

Being born at home is natural: care rituals for home birth

ABSTRACT Objective: To be aware of the care rituals developed by families when preparing for home birth during the gestational process. Method: Qualitative and ethnographic research developed with families during the gestational process. We adopted the observation-participation-reflection model, and the analysis was performed according to ethnonursing. Results: Care rituals are related to the choice of home as a place for childbirth, being characterized as a family's rite of separation to experience this process. Other care rituals involved the preparation of the family and the eldest child as well as the home, the body, and the mind of the pregnant woman, and the choice of destination of the placenta. Final considerations: We must understand the birth process beyond the biological perspective, considering women and their family as a whole, within a cultural context with their beliefs and values.

Health care for children and adolescents with HIV: a comparison of services

OBJECTIVE

compare the quality of different types of health care for children and adolescents with HIV, in the experience of family members and caregivers.

METHOD

a cross-sectional study was conducted with 71 family members and caregivers, using the children's version of the Primary Care Assessment Tool (PCATool-Brazil). The Mann-Whitney or Student's t-test and Pearson's chi-square or Fisher's exact test were used for the analysis.

RESULTS

primary care services and, predominantly, specialized HIV services, were identified as the regular health care sources. There were no significant differences in quality, since their scores were close to the ideal level.

CONCLUSION

the attributes of these services need to be improved, which would entail reformulating their structural and performance aspects. In addition, it is imperative to recognize primary health care as an integral place for promoting the health of children and adolescents with HIV.

PRECARIZAÇÃO E FRAGMENTAÇÃO DO TRABALHO NA ESTRATÉGIA SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA: IMPACTOS EM SANTA MARIA (RS)

Resumo O estudo teve por meta compreender o processo de implantação e acompanhamento da Estratégia Saúde da Família em um município do Rio Grande do Sul, utilizando como metodologia a pesquisa qualitativa. Foram entrevistados 16 gestores e analisadas fontes documentais no período de agosto de 2011 a maio de 2012. O material foi submetido à proposta operativa de análise. Verificou-se que a primeira gestão da Estratégia desencadeou um processo efervescente para transformar uma realidade considerada fragmentada e insuficiente, tendo optado por terceirização na contratação dos trabalhadores, participação da comunidade e educação permanente. A segunda gestão optou por fortalecer as unidades de pronto atendimento, sem a participação do controle social. Apareceram como fragilidades da Estratégia a gestão do trabalho e as escolhas da gestão municipal. A reestruturação da atenção básica, objetivo da Estratégia, foi postergada. Como conclusão, identificou-se a complexidade de se fazer gestão municipal do Sistema Único de Saúde e sedimentar a atenção básica como porta preferencial dos cidadãos.

The understanding of nurses who work in mental health regarding compulsory and involuntary hospitalization

Abstract Objective: To analyze the understanding of nurses working in the mental health services regarding compulsory and involuntary hospitalization referred to in the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform Law. Methodology: Qualitative research, with eight nurses from the mental health services. Data collection took place through an open interview, analyzed using Bardin's content analysis. Results: The nurses understand that when psychiatric hospitalization is recommended, the service user must be evaluated in the social and family context. They consider that both forms of hospitalization can cause distress and anxiety to the service user, due to this person finding herself in a place against her will. Conclusion: This study contributes to reflection regarding psychiatric hospitalization as a resource which must be used in specific situations. The success of community-based services is linked to a non-fragmented mental health service for effective implementation of the reorganization of psychiatric care.

Health care of people with venous ulcer in outpatient care / Cuidados em saúde de pessoas com úlcera venosa em assistência ambulatorial / Cuidados em salud de personas con úlcera venosa en asistencia ambulatoria

Objetivo: descrever o cuidado em saúde realizado pelas pessoas com úlcera venosa em assistência ambulatorial em um  hospital público da região sul do Brasil. Metodologia: pesquisa  qualitativa, com coleta de dados de dezembro de 2012 a março de 2013, por meio da entrevista semiestruturada individual, realizada no domicílio de 12 pessoas. No tratamento dos dados utilizou-se a análise temática. Resultados: da análise elaboraram-se as categorias: Cuidados com a alimentação – “alimentação como fonte de saúde”; Ferida como centro do cuidado – “tudo em função da perna” e repouso como cuidado- “dizem que o repouso é o principal”. Conclusão: as práticas de cuidado realizadas pelas pessoas com úlcera venosa referem-se à alimentação, à ferida e ao repouso. Essas devem ser conhecidas pela enfermagem, pois isso possibilitará a troca e aproximação de saberes em busca de um cuidado congruente.

FIRST-CONTACT ACCESSIBILITY ATTRIBUTE IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES AND CARE PRACTICES: CONTRIBUTIONS TO ACADEMIC EDUCATION FOR NURSES

ABSTRACT Case study that aimed to identify the care practices of nurses from a Family Health Unit related to the first-contact accessibility attribute and the contributions to academic nursing education. The data is an excerpt from a database, collected from February to July 2012. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nurses, participant observation of the care practices took place and a document search was undertaken, analyzed according to the operation proposal. The first contact can be initiated by the demand of the user himself or staff meetings based on the cases shared by the community health agents. The nurses' behavior restricts user access and excludes the possibility of welcoming. Academic training should insert and integrate the students into different scenarios and knowledge; foster human understanding based on the opening to new sensibilities and unpredictability, besides instigating the authentic participation of the student in his learning process.

Fatores que interferem no atributo longitudinalidade da atenção primária à saúde: revisão integrativa

Objetivou-se avaliar as evidências disponíveis na literatura acerca dos fatores que interferem no atributo longitudinalidade da Atenção Primária à Saúde. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, desenvolvida em maio de 2014, nas bases de dados eletrônicas: LILACS, PubMed e Scopus. Utilizaram-se os descritores "atenção primária à saúde" and “continuidade da assistência ao paciente”. Totalizaram 16 artigos analisados na íntegra. Os dados foram organizados segundo os aspectos da atenção do atributo longitudinalidade (estrutura e desempenho) e os fatores identificados foram divididos segundo a interferência no atributo (favorecendo ou desfavorecendo). As evidências oferecem subsídios para a composição de um panorama mundial dos fatores que interferem na prática do atributo longitudinalidade, reforçando a valorização das relações interpessoais e a minimização das lacunas na organização dos serviços de saúde. A prevalência de estudos descritivos sugere a necessidade de fortalecer a construção do conhecimento com estudos de maior nível de evidência. 

THE THERAPEUTIC JOURNEY OF PEOPLE WITH VENOUS ULCERS IN OUTPATIENT CARE

ABSTRACT This study's objective was to describe the therapeutic journey of people with venous ulcers receiving outpatient care. This qualitative study was conducted from January to February of 2013 using semi-structured interviews with 14 people with venous ulcers cared for by an outpatient clinic at a public hospital in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The following categories emerged from the content analysis: search within the Popular Sector; search within the Folk Sector; and search within the Professional Sector. Based on how the individuals identified the origin of the venous ulcer and were influenced by their sociocultural contexts, people implemented different care practices and had to frequently review their journey in the search for healing. The conclusion is that the therapeutic journey was composed of various paths in which the Popular and Professional Sectors strongly influenced the experience of people with venous ulcers.

EXPERIÊNCIAS CONSTRUÍDAS NO PROCESSO DE VIVER COM A ÚLCERA VENOSA

Objetivou-se identificar as experiências construídas pelas pessoas com úlcera venosa, no processo de conviver com esta condição crônica. Pesquisa qualitativa realizada entre janeiro e fevereiro de 2013. Utilizou-se a entrevistada semiestruturada na qual participaram 14 pessoas com úlcera venosa, atendidas em ambulatório de angiologia de um município do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo. As três categorias submetidas à análise foram: Úlcera venosa e a sua repercussão no trabalho; Mudanças na rotina e limitações no viver com a úlcera venosa; e Conviver com a úlcera venosa e a necessidade de cuidado profissional e familiar. Conclui-se que a pessoa com úlcera venosa pode apresentar propensão a desenvolver problemas que colocam em risco a sua saúde física e emocional e que necessita de atenção integral dos profissionais da saúde.

Rede de atenção em saúde mental na perspectiva dos coordenadores de serviços de saúde

Trata-se de um estudo descritivo exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, que teve como objetivo compreender como coordenadores de serviços de saúde, envolvidos no cuidado dos sujeitos em sofrimento psíquico, percebem a organização da rede de atenção em saúde mental de Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e de vinhetas nos meses de abril e maio de 2008. Participaram da pesquisa dez coordenadores de serviços de saúde. Os dados foram trabalhados mediante análise temática e, posteriormente, agrupados em três núcleos de sentido: o entendimento dos fluxos assistenciais; o funcionamento da rede; e as dificuldades e potencialidades vislumbradas. Evidenciou-se uma rede em processo de construção, destacando-se a existência de movimentos que visam à melhoria da articulação entre os serviços e consequente qualificação da assistência para os usuários da rede de cuidado em saúde mental. Propõe-se um estreitamento das relações entre os serviços, intensificando a articulação entre a atenção primária, os serviços substitutivos e a atenção hospitalar. Destaca-se o papel da gestão nesse processo, considerando a necessidade de envolvimento de diferentes setores para a efetivação de um serviço de atenção à saúde mental mais qualificado.

PERCEPÇÕES SOBRE A VIOLÊNCIA NO CENÁRIO DE UMA UNIDADE DE SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA

Objetivou-se conhecer o contexto da violência no cenário de uma Unidade de Saúde da Família do sul do Brasil. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa realizada em 2008 e na qual se utilizou para a coleta de dados a estimativa rápida participativa. Participaram 19 informantes-chave, sendo seis moradores líderes de comunidade, seis agentes comunitários de saúde e sete entre demais integrantes da equipe de saúde. Os dados foram submetidos à análise temática de conteúdo, produzindo-se três categorias: policiamento como fator de segurança; a violência influenciada pelo contexto social e a banalização da violência. Os resultados revelam um entendimento complexo acerca da violência, no entanto, a sua banalização pode ser verificada. A Enfermagem, junto à equipe de saúde, pode contribuir para a redução dos índices de violência, colocando-se na posição de mediadora na construção de uma rede social que identifique, integre, articule e promova ações capazes de melhorar as condições de vida da comunidade.

Relações entre profissionais de saúde e usuários durante as práticas em saúde

Apresenta-se uma revisão integrativa sobre estudos que abordam as relações entre profissionais de saúde e usuários durante as práticas em saúde. Objetivou-se identificar os aspectos pesquisados no cotidiano dos serviços acerca dessas relações. A coleta foi realizada nas bases Lilacs e Pubmed segundo os descritores: acolhimento; relações profissional-família; relações profissional-paciente; humanização da assistência; e a palavra 'vínculo' associada ao descritor Sistema Único de Saúde. Selecionaram-se 290 estudos publicados entre 1990 e 2010. Por meio da análise temática, foram criados cinco núcleos de sentido: a relevância da confiança na relação profissional-usuário; sentimentos e sentidos na prática do cuidado; a importância da comunicação nos serviços de saúde; modo de organização das práticas em saúde; e (des)colonialismo. Identificou-se que as relações estabelecidas nas práticas de saúde têm uma dimensão transformadora. No entanto, permanece o desafio de humanizar os serviços de saúde. A enfermagem se destaca na produção do conhecimento nessa temática.

[Social networks and participation in a community referenced to a family health care unit]

The aim of this research is to describe factors that may influence the constitution of social networks and participation in a community referenced to a Family Health Care Unit, located in a medium-sized city in the South of Brazil. It is a qualitative research developed with key informants, community members, community health agents and other health team personnel. The method used was rapid participative assessment, through semi-structured interviews and field observation. Content analysis was used and two categories emerged: considerations about social networks and community participation. The first category presents factors related to social networks, such as family aggregation, socio-economic structure, alcoholism, among others. The second one presents community organization and the ways people participate in the community. Discussions and reflections presented in this paper enable to conclude that strategies to promote strengthening of bonds and greater mobilization for social participation may be developed.

O exercício da integralidade em uma equipe da estratégia saúde da família: saberes e práticas

O Sistema Único de Saúde preconiza a integralidade como diretriz orientadora das práticas de cuidado em saúde. Apesar de avanços na saúde coletiva, nota-se dificuldade em exercitá-la no cotidiano dos serviços de saúde. Objetivou-se conhecer as práticas de cuidado de uma equipe de Estratégia Saúde da Família e sua relação com a integralidade. Trata-se de pesquisa descritiva e qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação participante, entrevistas e consulta em documentos, os quais foram analisados segundo a análise temática. Foram encontrados os seguintes sentidos da integralidade: como percepção das diferentes dimensões e da complexidade dos usuários; como articulação das formas de cuidar; e como identificação e atendimento das necessidades em saúde; como esforço da equipe em produzir saúde; como cuidado a grupos específicos. A partir da análise dos dados, afirma-se a necessidade de construir novas práticas, voltadas para a reorientação do modelo assistencial, visando tornar possível o exercício da integralidade.

Necessidades de capacitação e aperfeiçoamento dos profissionais de equipes de saúde da família da 4ª Coordenadoria Regional de Saúde do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul

Este estudo objetivou verificar as necessidades para a capacitação e aperfeiçoamento dos profissionais das equipes de saúde da família dos 31 municípios que compõe a 4ª Coordenadoria Regional de Saúde do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A coleta de dados foi realizada através da aplicação de um questionário com questões objetivas, composto de duas partes: campo e núcleo de competências. Para análise dos dados obtidos, foram utilizados testes de normalidade, qui-quadrado e teste G para as atribuições fáceis e difíceis indicadas pelos profissionais. Os profissionais mostraram menores dificuldades com atribuições genéricas, relacionadas a métodos e técnicas básicas de cada área de formação. Porém, revelaram dificuldades tais como a busca de parcerias nas comunidades, estimulação da participação popular na discussão sobre direitos à saúde e o preenchimento dos formulários do SIA/SIAB. Mesmo após doze anos da criação do Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF), observam-se ainda várias dificuldades em atuar de forma adequada e necessária a este novo modelo de trabalho em saúde. São propostas medidas que visam auxiliar e consolidar o PSF em seus diversos níveis.

[Reception in the hospital environment: perspectives of companions of hospitalized patients]

Reception procedures are one of the main guidelines concerning the health care production, even though the studies on this subject are focused upon primary health care. This paper aimed to understand the way reception is experienced by the companions of hospitalized patients and discuss their difficulties while accompanying the patients in a hospital environment. This is a qualitative study, conducted with 77 companions of patients hospitalized in a university hospital in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Data were collected through interviews and examined by the content analysis. According to the companions' perceptions, the reception procedure is associated to clarifying rules and routines, as well as meals delivery; the main difficulties were related to the physical structure and the noise in the hospital environment. A need for reconsidering the established models for health assistance is pointed, as well as the importance of improving health care practices based on light technology.

Acolhimento e vínculo em uma equipe do Programa Saúde da Família

Analisa-se o trabalho de uma equipe do Programa Saúde da Família, identificando o potencial de acolhimento e de construção de vínculo entre profissionais e usuários. É um estudo de caso, com abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação livre, entrevista semi-estruturada e consulta a documentos. Para análise do material obtido, utilizou-se abordagem dialética. Verificou-se uma relação entre a organização do processo de trabalho e a possibilidade de concretização de acolhimento e vínculo. Existem lacunas no acolhimento aos usuários, sobretudo no que se refere à abertura do serviço para a demanda, à responsabilização pelos problemas de saúde da população e ao estímulo à autonomia do usuário. Constatou-se que a produção de vínculo está relacionada com o desenvolvimento de atividades clínicas. O usuário do serviço, na concepção dos trabalhadores, é tido, por vezes, como sujeito e, por outras, como objeto. Os princípios e diretrizes do Sistema Único de Saúde não se constituem enquanto projeto pensado dos trabalhadores. Propõe-se a aproximação da enfermeira a atividades clínicas e ao acolhimento aos usuários.
