Abstract
Abstract
Background
Although an adopted echocardiography algorithm based on tricuspid regurgitation jet peak velocity (TRVmax) and suggestive findings (SF) for pulmonary hypertension (PH) has been utilized in the non-invasive prediction of PH probability, reliability of this approach for updated hemodynamic definition of PH remains to be determined.
Aims
In this study, first time, we aimed to evaluate the TRVmax and SF in predicting the probability of PH as defined by mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) >20 mm Hg and mPAP >25 mm Hg, respectively.
Methods
Our study group comprised of the retrospectively evaluated 1300 patients (age 53.1±18.8 years, female 62.1%) who underwent right heart catheterisation (RHC) with different indications between 2006 and 2018. All echocardigraphic and RHC assessments were performed in accordance with European Society of Cardiology (ESC)/European Respiratory Society (ERS) 2015 PH Guidelines.
Results
Although TRVmax showed a significant relation with mPAP in both definitions, SF offered significant contribution for only in predicting mPAP >25 mm Hg, but not for mPAP >20 mm Hg. In predicting the mPAP >20 mm Hg TR Vmax and SF showed odds ratio (OR) of 2.57 (1.59–4.14, p<0.001) and OR of 1.25 (0.86–1.82, p=0.16), respectively (Table 1). In predicting the mPAP >25 mm Hg, TR Vmax and SF showed OR of 2.33 (1.80–3.04, p<0.001) and OR of 1.54 (1.15–2.08, p<0.001), respectively (Table 1). The TRVmax >2.8 m/sec and TRVmax >3.4 m/sec were associated with 70% and 84% probability of mPAP >20 mm Hg, and 60% and 76% probability of mPAP >25 mm Hg, respectively (Figure 1).
Conclusions
In contrast to those in predicting the mPAP >25 mm Hg, SF did not provide a significant contribution to probability of mPAP >20 mm Hg predicted by TRVmax solely. The impact of the novel mPAP treshold on echocardiographic prediction of PH remains to be clarifed by future studies.

Abstract
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a common medical emergency situation. In rare cases, glycemic changes associated with the menstrual cycle may create a predisposing factor for DKA. In the absence of facilitating factors that may cause DKA, catamenial DKA should be considered. In the patients with catamenial DKA, increasing the insulin dose 1-2 days before menstruation may prevent the development of hyperglycemia or DKA associated with menstrual cycle. In this study, we present a 21-year-old female with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM) that recurrently applied to our hospital due to DKA a few days prior to menstrual bleeding.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder caused by congenital deficiency of enzymes involved in cortisol biosynthesis from cholesterol in the adrenal cortex. In this article, we aimed to present a 29-year-old female patient with I2 splice point mutation detected in one allele and P453S mutation on the other allele of CYP21A2 gene associated with 21-hydroxylase deficiency. Her further investigation revealed that her mother had P453S mutation and her father had I2 splice mutation. CASE REPORT A 29-year-old woman with CAH was admitted to our clinic with the request of pregnancy. Her physical examination revealed a height of 151 cm, weight 59 kg, body mass index 25.8 kg/m2. According to Tanner staging, she had Stage 3 breast development and pubic hair. Her laboratory test results were as follows: Glucose: 79 mg/dL (70-100 mg/dL), Creatinine: 0.6 (0.5-0.95 mg/dL), Sodium: 138 mEq/L (135-145 mEq/L), Potassium: 4.4 mEq/L (3.5-5.1 mEq/L), Cortisol: 0.05 µg/dL, ACTH: <5.00 pg/mL (5-46 pg/mL), 17-OH progesterone: 7.67 ng/mL (0-3 ng/mL). Chromosome analysis revealed a 46, XX karyotype. CYP21A2 gene mutation analysis was performed for the patient whose clinical history and laboratory results were compatible with congenital adrenal hyperplasia. During the reverse dot blot analysis, I2 splice mutation in one allele and P453S mutation in the other allele were detected. CONCLUSION Although the I2 splice mutation detected in our case was mostly associated with a salt-wasting form of CAH, it was thought that the other P453S mutation detected may explain the relatively good clinical course in our case.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Thyroid hormone resistance (RTH) is defined as a decrease in response to thyroid hormones in the target tissue. Most patients present with nonspecific findings. In this article, we aimed to represent a 22-year-old female patient who presented with palpitation, fatigue, and heat intolerance. She was thought to have thyroid hormone resistance and her genetic examination revealed NM_001128177.1 (THRβ): c.1034G > A (p.Gly345Asp) pathogenic variation in the THRβ gene. CASE REPORT A 22-year-old female patient presented with complaints of fatigue, heat intolerance and palpitations. She was taking Propranolol twice daily at admission. Her family history revealed hypothyroidism in her grandmother. Her physical examination results were as follows: height 160 cm, weight 65 kg, body mass index 25.4kg/m2, body temperature 36.5°C, respiratory rate 18/min, heart rate 86 beats/min, blood pressure 120/80 mmHg. Her palms were sweaty. The heart sounds were normal, and no heart murmur was auscultated. The laboratory results were TSH: 5.31uU/mL, fT3: 6.83 pg/mL, and fT4: 2.43 ng/dL. THRβ gene mutation analysis was requested for our patient whose clinical history and laboratory results were compatible with thyroid hormone resistance. The pathogenic variation NM_001128177.1(THRβ):c.1034G>A (p.Gly345Asp) was detected after analysis. CONCLUSION A diagnosis of RTH requires high clinical suspicion and a genetic mutation analysis should be requested in the case of clinical suspicion. In this way, unnecessary anti-thyroid treatment can be prevented.

Abstract
Abstract
Background and aims
Although syncope (S) has been reported as one of the presenting findings in patients (pts) with acute pulmonary embolism (APE), its clinical and haemodynamic correlates and impacts on the long-term outcome in this setting remains to be determined. In this single-centre study we evaluated the clinical and haemodynamic significance of S in APE in initial asessment, and during short- and long-term follow-up period.
Methods
Our study was based on the retrospective and prospective analysis of the overall 641 pts (age 65 (51–74 IQR) yrs, 56.2% female) with diagnosis of documented APE who underwent anticoagulant (n=207), thrombolytic (n=164), utrasound-facilitated thrombolysis (UFT) (n=218) or rheolytic thrombectomy (RT) (n=52). The systematic work- up including multidetector computed tomography (MDCT), Echo, biomarkers, and PE severity indexes were performed in all pts, and Qanadli score (QS) was used as the measure of the thrombotic burden in the pulmonary arteries (PA).
Results
The S as the presenting symptom In 30.2% of pts with APE. At baseline assessment, S(+) vs S(−) APE subgroups had a significantly shorter symptom-diagnosis interval, a higher risk status according to the significant elevations in troponin T, D-dimer, the higher PE severity indexes, a more deteriorated right ventricle/left ventricle ratio (RV/LV r), right atrial/left atrial ratio (LA/RAr) and RV longitudinal function indexes including tricuspid annular planary excursion (TAPSE) and tissue velocity (St), a significantly higher PA obstructive burden as assessed by QS and PA pressures. Thrombolytic therapy (36.2% vs 21%, p<0.001) and RT (11.9% vs 6.47%, p=0.037) were more frequently utilized S(+) as compared to S(−) group. However, all these differences between two subgroups were found to disappear after evidence-based APE treatments. In-hospital mortality (IHM) (12.95% vs 6%, p=0.007) and minor bleeding (10.36% vs 2.9%, p<0.001) were significantly higher in S(+) pts as compared to those in S(−) subgroup. Binominal logistic regression analysis revealed that PESI score and RV/LVr independently associated with S while IHM was only predicted by age and heart rate. The COX proportional hazard method showed that RV/LVr at discharge and malignancy were independently associated with cumulative mortality during follow-up duration of 620 (200–1170 IQ) days.
Conclusions
The presence of S in pts with APE was found to be asociated with a higher PA obstructive burden, a more deteriorated RV function and haemodynamics and higher risk status which may need more agressive reperfusion treatments. However, in the presence of the optimal treatments, S did not predict neither in-hospital outcome, nor long-term mortality.

Abstract
Abstract
Aims
Several risk prediction models have been developed for risk assessment at the time of diagnosis and during follow-up in patients (pts) with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). In this single-centre study we aimed to compare baseline REVEAL, REVEAL 2.0, COMPERA and FPHN risk scores in predicting the mortality in pts with PAH.
Methods
Study group comprised of 504 pts (age 54.4±18.9 years, female 64.4%) with PAH out of the overall 852 pts with pulmonary hypertension enrolled fourteen year period. Subgroups of PAH were as follows; IPAH (39%), CHD-PAH (51%), CTD-PAH (7.7%) and other PAH (3.3%). Functional-class (FC), six-minute-walking-distance (6MWD), pericardial effusion (PE), right atrial area (RAA), tricuspid-annular-planary-systolic-excursion (TAPSE) and systolic annular velocity (St), Echo and Catheter pulmonary artery mean presures (PAMP) and N-terminal-pro brain natriuretic-peptide (NT-proBNP) measures were evaluated at baseline and periodical control examinations with 6-months apart. Baseline assessments for REVEAL, REVEAL 2.0, COMPERA and FPHN risk scores were performed in all pts.
Results
In baseline assessment mean FC and 6MWD were 3 (3–4 IQR), and 230±100 m, repectively. Mean PAMP was 51.5±26 mm Hg, and pulmonary vascular resistance was 8.8±6.5 Wood units. Mono, dual and triple combination therapies were noted in 42%, 40%, and 18% of pts. Median follow-up time was (1470 (275–4840 IQR)) and overall all-cause mortality was 32.1%. Using the Cox proportional hazard model, likelihood ratio (LR) of scores and p values were as follows; REVEAL: 95.09 (p<0.001), REVEAL-2: 122.16 (p<0.001), COMPERA: 22.73 (p<0.001) and FPHN: 1.63 (p=0.210). Adding the TAPSE on REVEAL 2.0 score did not increase the LR of REVEAL 2.0.
When comparing the different combinations including REVEAL 2.0, with likelihood ratio test, the LR of REVEAL 2.0 plus TAPSE vs REVEAL 2.0 was 7.32 (p=0.12),
Conclusions
In this single-centre study, REVEAL 2.0 as compared to REVEAL, COMPERA and FPHN models provided the highest prediction for mortality, and adding the TAPSE on the REVEAL 2.0 scoring offered no additional benefit for risk assessment.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between anxiety level and quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus and the sociodemographic factors affecting them. Materials and Methods This cross-sectional study enrolled 150 patients with DM who presented to the endocrinology clinic of Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Training Hospital for outpatient treatment between March 2017 and April 2017. The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Eortc-Qlqc30 Quality of Life Scale (EORTC- QLQ-C30) were used to evaluate anxiety levels and quality of life of the patients. Results The mean score of the patients obtained from BAI was 18 ± 13 and 51.4 ± 26 from EORTC- QLQ-C30. Mean body mass index of patients' was 27.03. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between BAI and EORTC QLQ-C30 (r:-0.359) and sub scales in terms of physical function (r: -0.253), emotional function (r: -0.201), role function (r: -0.308), cognitive function (r: -0.309) (P < 0.05). There was a statistically significant positive correlation between BAI and the symptom subscales of EORTC QLQ-C30 in terms of pain score (r: 0.276), fatigue score (r: 0.305), dyspnea score (r: 0.198), insomnia score (r: 0.247), loss of appetite score (r: 0.216) (P < 0.05). Conclusion A negative relationship was determined between anxiety levels and quality of life. Age, marital status, number of spouses, co inhabitants at home, educational status, living place were related with both quality of life and anxiety levels of DM patients. Increasing the psychosocial support systems of individuals with DM may reduce their anxiety levels and increase quality of life.

Abstract
Introduction Fahr's syndrome is an infrequent disorder characterized by bilateral symmetrical calcification of basal ganglia and the cerebral cortex. It can be seen genetic, idiopathic, or secondary to endocrine diseases. This disease is related to different metabolic disorders particularly with diseases of the parathyroid gland. Case 1 A 63-year-old female patient applied to our clinic due to having hypoparathyroidism with bilateral basal ganglia calcification in head computed tomography(CT). She had subtotal thyroidectomy 25 years ago. In the neurological examination, mild symmetrical parkinsonism was determined. In laboratory examination Ca:8 mg/dL (8.6-10.2), P:5.1 mg/dL (2.3-4.5), PTH:9.53 pg/mL (15-65) were detected. Calcitriol 0.25 μ/day was added to her treatment. Her parkinsonism disappeared after the treatment. Case 2 A 49-year-old male patient was consulted when he was admitted to the department of neurology in our hospital. The physical examination demonstrated the characteristics of Albright's hereditary osteodystrophy. The neurological examination shows bilateral symmetrical bradykinesia, dysphagia, and moderate dysarthria. In the laboratory examination PTH: 46.5 ng/L(15-65), Ca:8.6 mg/dL (8.6-10.2), P:2.7 mg/dL (2.3-4.5) were detected and were all within the normal ranges. Consequently, pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism was decided as a diagnosis. G protein alpha subunit mutation (Gsα) was not detected due to technical limitations. Conclusion When a patient is diagnosed as Fahr's syndrome, we should keep in mind parathyroid disorders. Fahr's syndrome must be evaluated in patients showing intracranial calcification accompanied by parathyroid diseases.

Study group comprised the retrospectively evaluated 1299 patients (pts) (53.1±18.8 years, female 807, 62.1%) who underwent right heart catheterisation (RHC) with different indications between 2006 and 2018. Echo data obtained from same day and pre-RHC evaluation were available in all pts. Chemla method was used for Doppler estimation of PAMP from tricuspid regurgitant jet. For two PH definitions as PAMP ≥25 mmHg (definition-A) and PAMP >20 mmHg (definition-B) predictive value of the ESC Echo algorithm was tested with two logistic regression models based on only PAMP-Echo (Model-1) and PAMP-Echo and Echo findings supportive for PH (Model-2).
Results
RHC revealed that criteria for PH definitions A and B were met in 891 (68.6%) and 1051 (80.9%) of overall pts. Pre-RHC Echo findings supportive for PH were noted in 529 (40.7%) of pts. Because pulmonary regurgitant velocity data were imprecise, other 6 supportive Echo findings were utilised. The % of the supportive Echo measures were as follows; 1 (11%), 2 (10%),3 (8.1%), 4 (7.2%), 5 (2.5%) and 6 (1.8%). In Model-1, for definitions A and B, odds ratio (OR) of PAMP-Echo were (1.07; 0.99–1.19, p=0.058, LRX2:139, c: 0.72) and (1.05; 0.98–1.12, p=0.102, LRX2:129, c: 0.71), respectively.
In Model-2, for definition-A, OR of PAMP-Echo and number of supportive findings were (1.05; 0.98–1.12, p=0.162) and (1.58; 1.42–1.75, p<0.001) (LRX2:217, c: 0.77), respectively. Using the same model for definition-B, OR of PAMP-Echo and number of supportive findings were (1.04; 0.97–1.11, p=0.264) and (1.56; 1.40–1.73, p<0.001),(LRX2:203, c: 0.76), respectively. Receiver operating curve (ROC) analysis yielded that PAMP-Echo >39.8 mmHg had a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 54% for definition-A, and a sensitivity of 81% and a specificity of 52% for definition-B, respectively. Regardless of the definition tresholds for PH on RHC, number of supportive Echo findings were responsible for nearly 70% of the overall variance in the PH diagnosis.
Conclusions
Irrespective of the RHC definition criteria as PAMP ≥25 mmHg or >20 mmHg, number of supportive Echo findings but not PAMP-Echo only approach seems to be reliable in the diagnostic work-up for PH.

Abstract
Abstract
Background and aim
In this study we evaluated the impact of the updated pulmonary hypertension (PH) definitive criteria proposed in 6th World PH Symposium (WSPH) on numbers and frequencies of and pre- versus post-capillary PH as compared to those in European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2015 PH Guidelines.
Methods
Study group comprised the retrospectively evaluated 1299 patients (pts) (age 53.1±18.8 years, female 807, 62.1%) who underwent right heart catheterisation (RHC) with different indications between 2006 and 2018. For ESC and WSPH PH definitions, pulmonary arterial mean pressure (PAMP) ≥25 mmHg (definition-A) and PAMP >20 mmHg (definition-B) RHC criteria were used, respectively. For pre-capillary PH definitions, pulmonary artery wedge pressure (PAWP) ≤15 mmHg and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) ≥3 Wood units criteria were included in the both definitions.
Results
In RHC assessments, PAMP ≥25 mmHg and >20 mmHg were noted in 891 (68.6%) and 1051 (80.9%) of overall pts, respectively. Moreover, pre-capillary PH was diagnosed in 284 (21.8%) and 298 (22.9%) with definition-A and B, respectively. Although updated WSPH definition was associated with a net 12.3% and a relative 18% increase in the overall PH diagnosis, net and relative changes in the frequency of the pre-capillary PH were only 1% and 4.9%. Increase in the overall PH with updated WSPH criterias compared to previous ESC definitions was associated with increase in the number of pre-capillary PH (n=298, 22.9%) but not in the overall frequency of post-capillary PH (688, 52.9%). Because PVR was the product of the transpulmonary gradient (PAMP minus PAWP) divided by cardiac output, this measure was found to keep specificity for distinction between pre- versus post-capillary PH even after lowering thetreshold diagnostic for PAMP from 25 to 20 mmHg.
Conclusions
Although updated WSPH definition was associated with net 12.3% and relative 18% increase in the overall PH diagnosis, its impact on frequencies of pre- versus post-capillary PH within overall PH population was negligible. These seem to be due to critical role of PVR ensuring specificity in pre-capillary PH diagnosis even after lowering the definitive PAMP treshold to 20 mmHg.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between the triglyceride/high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio and the risk of acute myocardial infarction in young adults. PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 621 patients, who underwent coronary angiography (CAG) due to Myocardial Infarction (MI) at our hospital were included in this study. Demographic characteristics, risk factor profile, laboratory test results, electrocardiographic and CAG findings were assessed in the selected groups. RESULTS Total cholesterol, triglyceride/high density lipoprotein cholesterol (Tg/HDL) ratio, Tg levels, were higher in younger patients with MI, while glucose and high-density lipoprotein levels were lower. Using propensity score matching in the matched population comparing young patients to the older ones, serum triglyceride levels [179 (145-231) vs 148 (101-197)] and triglyceride to high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio [5.8 (4.1-9.1) vs 3.0 (1.8-4.6)] were significantly higher, whereas high density lipoprotein levels were observed dramatically lower (32.6 ± 8.2 vs 41.7 ± 8.8). CONCLUSION This study demonstrated that Tg/HDL ratio may be an important predictor for an acute coronary syndrome in the young adult population. Tg/HDL ratio can be used to prevent MI in young adults (Tab. 3, Fig. 1, Ref. 32.).

Abstract
Fabry's disease is associated with high incidence of thrombosis in hemizygous males and heterozygous females. We describe a woman with Fabry's disease who developed hemi-central retinal vein occlusion during the follow-up. The vein occlusion showed a fulminant course ending with a painful blind eye within a short period. Fabry's disease should be considered in the differential diagnosis of the vascular occlusive disorders especially in young patients.

Abstract
Some chemicals or thermal burns may result in abnormal reepithelialization by conjunctival epithelial cells and it causes different types of damage on the cornea surface. When reepithelialization does not occur, chronic inflammation and neovascularization develop, often leading to stroma scarring and/or ulceration. The aim of this study is to restore the human corneal surface with autologous corneal epithelial sheets generated by serial cultivation of the limbal epithelial cells over the different compositions of composite membranes. The composite membranes were prepared by coating the alginate membrane with chitosan. In this method, alginate membrane was prepared by precipitation of the sodium alginate solution in calcium chloride solution. Alginate membranes were washed, dried and immersed into the chitosan solutions to prepare composite membranes. The composite membranes were characterized based on their morphology, hydrophilicity, swellability, and chemical structure. In the last part of the study, composite membranes were used as base matrices for limbal epithelial cell cultivation. The cell cultivation on polymeric membranes was investigated as the in vitro studies. In these studies cell attachment, spreading and growth on polymeric membranes were evaluated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Development of inhibitors is the most serious complication in haemophilia A treatment. The assessment of risk for inhibitor formation in new or modified factor concentrates is traditionally performed in previously treated patients (PTPs). However, evidence on risk factors for and natural history of inhibitors has been generated mostly in previously untreated patients (PUPs). The purpose of this study was to examine cases of de novo inhibitors in PTPs reported in the scientific literature and to the EUropean HAemophilia Safety Surveillance (EUHASS) programme, and explore determinants and course of inhibitor development. METHODS We used a case series study design and developed a case report form to collect patient level data; including detection, inhibitor course, treatment, factor VIII products used and events that may trigger inhibitor development (surgery, vaccination, immune disorders, malignancy, product switch). RESULTS We identified 19 publications that reported 38 inhibitor cases and 45 cases from 31 EUHASS centres. Individual patient data were collected for 55/83 (66%) inhibitor cases out of 12 330 patients. The median (range) peak inhibitor titre was 4.4 (0.5-135.0), the proportion of transient inhibitors was 33% and only two cases of 12 undergoing immune tolerance induction failed this treatment. In the two months before inhibitor development, surgery was reported in nine (22%) cases, and high intensity treatment periods reported in seven (17%) cases. CONCLUSIONS By studying the largest cohort of inhibitor development in PTPs assembled to date, we showed that inhibitor development in PTPs, is on average, a milder event than in PUPs.

Abstract
Accessory spleen is a congenital form of an ectopic splenic tissue. In this report, we present a case of a patient who was followed with the diagnosis of rectal and sigmoid colon cancer and an accessory spleen hypertrophy, which was thought to be colon cancer metastasis in the left hypochondriac region. After colectomy and splenectomy, accessory spleen that mimics cancer metastasis was diffrentially diagnosed using scintigraphy.

Abstract
Lung adenocarcinoma often makes metastasis to the brain, liver, kidneys, bone, bone marrow and adrenal glands. It can also make metastasis to other parts of the body rarely for example eye, nose, parotid gland and paranasal sinus. We did not encounter with combined ocular bulbus and the maxillary sinus metastases of lung cancer in the accessible literature. In this case report, a patient who was combined ocular bulbus and the maxillary sinus metastases of lung adenocarcinoma will be discussed.

Abstract
Abstract
PURPOSE:
The aim of the study was to determine whether LNR have additional contribution on pathologic lymph node staging.
METHODS:
To examine the prognostic value of LNR examined the original histopathological reports of 2049 node-positive breast cancer patients treated in the references centers of the Turkey. The LNR was defined as the number of positive lymph nodes (LNs) over the total number of LNs removed. The LNR cutoffs were defined as low-risk, 0.01-0.20; intermediate-risk, 0.21- 0.65; and high-risk, LNR >0.65.
RESULTS:
The median follow-up was 11.8 years. Median Disease free survival (DFS) was 191.8, 110.6 and 78.2 months in patients with pN1, pN2 and pN3 tumor, respectively (p<0.001). Median DFS was 191.9, 106.4 and 78.1 months in patients with LNR low, intermediate and high risk tumor, respectively (p<0.001). Median DFS was not reached and 200.1 months in patients with pN2 and LNR low risk patients, pN1 and LNR high risk patients, respectively (p=0.254).
CONCLUSIONS:
LNR is an important prognostic parameter for DFS and might provide potentially more information than pN-stage in patients with pN1/LNR high risk and pN2/LNR low risk.

Abstract
Internal jugular vein thrombosis is a rarely seen condition which may be due to infection or neoplastic, thrombophilic, traumatic or iatrogenic causes. If the thrombosis in the jugular vein leads to pulmonary embolism, septic emboli or atrial or dural sinus thrombosis, it may be life-threatening. We report a successfully treated case of a 19-year-old female patient presenting with swelling and neck pain who was diagnosed with a stepwise approach of this rare condition.

Abstract
AIM Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is an autosomally inherited neuromuscular disorder and may be associated with increased cancer risk. PATIENT A 69-year old female admitted to hospital with complaint of left axillary mass who had diagnosis of FSHD in her adulthood period. RESULTS Bilateral breast cancer diagnosis was made and the patient underwent bilateral mastectomy. Following the operation, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy performed and hormonal therapy started. CONCLUSION The patients with congenital muscular dystrophy might have an increased risk of malignancy. We consider that some genetic alterations in FSHD might have contributed to the development of bilateral breast cancer in our patient.
