[Dental fluorosis: an epidemiological investigation in the area of Ouardanine in Tunisia]

In this work, we carried out a transverse epidemiological investigation about the oral health state of pupils in the Ouardanine area. The investigation concerned 300 fifteen-year-old pupils. An amount of fluoride was administrated within drinking water. Further studies, within few years, will be desirableto follow the fluorosis evolution in this area.

[Prevalence of endodontic yeasts in periapical infections]

In literature, microbiology results of periapical lesions are limited. Only several types are frequently isolated in rebellious cases. These ones include Enterococcus Faecalis and Enterococcus gram. Recently, a gain of interest is focused on discussion concerning endodontic yeasts that is why we developed our research in this way. From the 81 cases of endodontic culture studied, 20% were positive isolating Candida in which 14% weren't C. albicans, for the rest we identify C. glabrata, C.sp., C. kefyr, C. kruseii. The predominance of Candida albicans was justified by their frequency as commensal oral flora, explaining someway the failure of some intracanal endodontic medication.

[Treatment of dental fluorosis]

Fluorotic stains present a variety of clinical surface alteration with the modification of the enamel colour, we have a structural modification of hard tissues resulting in their hypo-mineralisation. A knowledge of the kind of surface, nature, and deepness of the discoloration is necessary in order to make the right diagnosis and so, to adapt the specific treatment which can varies from a simple general treatment based on VIT C drugs, to aesthetic veneers and includes micro-abrasion technique, and chemical bleaching methods.
