Abstract
Coupling the practice-based view (PBV) of firms with dynamic capabilities theory (DCT), we assess the effect of Fintech adoption (FA) on organizational sustainability performance (SP) through circular economy practices (CEP). Additionally, this research examines the moderating roles of a firm's access to finance (AF) and absorptive capacity (AC) in the interplays between the constructs. Three hundred responses were collected from Bangladeshi manufacturing SMEs using a structured questionnaire. We examined our conceptual model using a two-staged structural equation modeling-artificial neural network (SEM-ANN) approach. The empirical findings unveiled that Fintech adoption significantly drives organizational CEP and SP and that CEP acts as a mediator between the FA and SP linkage. Furthermore, the findings also confirmed the moderating effect of AF on the FA and CEP association and the impact of AC on the CEP and SP association. Hence, this scholarship adds pivotal insights to the extant literature by establishing the roles of multiple mediators and moderators in the interplay of FA and firms' SP. Given the paucity of primary-data-based research, this empirical study addresses the gaps in the Fintech, CE, and sustainability literature and yields crucial implications for theory and practice.

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to empirically analyze how regional specialization influence innovation in enterprises, as well as the mediation effect of absorptive capacity and cognitive social capital, as knowledge diffusion mechanisms. A questionnaire was developed and distributed, obtaining a sample of 197 energy firms in Spain. For the assessment of this data, the PLS-SEM technique, a multivariate analytical approach, has been used. The results show a positive and significant direct effect between the degree of regional specialization and the innovative performance of firms. In addition, the cognitive social capital and absorptive capacity variables show a positive and significant mediation effect in the relationship proposed, as well as between them, thus constructing a double mediation and proving to be relevant mechanisms for knowledge diffusion. Then, it is concluded that cognitive and geographical proximity matters, since enable firms to obtain resources for knowledge upgrading and innovation. Thus, it is crucial for firms to develop their capacity to absorb new external knowledge, as has been evidenced as a key factor to leverage the opportunities of the context in which firms are located. This paper has important implications for the long-standing complex debates about whether regions should develop, primarily whether they should do so through specialization or diversification.

Abstract
Numerous Chinese manufacturing organizations are grappling with the challenge of absorbing and using green information acquisition across the supply chain to achieve excellent firm performance. Utilizing the organizational learning theory's indirect stream of research, we address this research gap by developing a moderated-mediation framework to investigate the impact of green information acquisition and institutional pressure on a firm's performance. Hypotheses are evaluated by taking a sample of 567 manufacturing enterprises in China. Structural equation modeling (SEM) has been applied to analyze and investigate the proposed hypotheses. Empirical results indicate that absorptive capacity significantly mediates the relationship between green information acquisition and firm performance. In a similar vein, institutional pressure significantly moderates the relationship between green information acquisition and firm performance. Study findings have essential managerial recommendations for Chinese manufacturing enterprises, proposing that they considerably enhance their absorptive capacity and continuously monitor institutional pressure to reap the advantages of green information acquisition on firm performance.

Abstract
Public health machinery learning platform based on cloud-native is a system platform that combines machine learning frameworks and cloud-native technology for public health services. The problem of how its flexible value is realized has been widely concerned by all public health network intelligent researchers. Thus, this article examines the relationship between cloud-native architecture flexibility and cloud provider value and the processes and the boundary condition by which cloud-native architecture flexibility affects cloud provider value based on innovation theory and dynamic capability theory. The results of a survey of 509 platform-related respondents in China show that cloud-native architecture flexibility is positively related to cloud provider value, and both absorptive capacity and supply chain agility mediate the above-mentioned effect. Moreover, R&D subsidies strengthen both the positive relationship between absorptive capacity and cloud provider value and the relationship between supply chain agility and cloud provider value. In this study, cloud-native architecture flexibility, unit absorptive capacity, supply chain agility and R&D subsidies are considered into a flexible value generation mechanism model that extend the relevant research on the value generation mechanism of information system under the background of network intelligence, and to provide relevant enterprises with suggestions on upgrade strategies.

Abstract
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an important driver of the increasing globalization of the word economy, and despite being a widely studied phenomenon, studies on the effects of FDI on host countries' social welfare are scarce. So, this work aims to analyze the impact of FDI on welfare measured through the human development index and its three dimensions (education, life expectancy, and income). Based on a sample of 146 countries for the period 2002-2019, the results obtained by two-staged least squares-instrumental variable estimation suggest that FDI impact on social welfare depends on the countries' human capital which reflects countries' absorptive capacity. Results also highlight the role of government expenses in consumption, political stability, and quality of technological infrastructures. Therefore, the results suggest that, in order to improve social welfare, countries should focus and gear their policies towards fostering the improvement of their human resources, political stability, and technological infrastructures.

Abstract
Literature has revealed, recently, the importance of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) for supply chain resilience (SCR); however, doubts remain as to how EO could improve SCR exist due to the vagueness surrounding it. We examine absorptive capacity (AC) and innovation as two mechanisms that mediate the EO-SCR relationship. An empirical analysis was made of the proposed model, based upon survey data for 171 manufacturing SMEs in the Sana'a region, Yemen, using a structural equation model (SEM) with the SmartPLS. The results obtained have shown that EO positively affects SCR for SMEs and, most significantly, this relationship is indirect as it is fully mediated by AC and innovation. The findings have revealed that EO improves SCR when those firms make efforts in developing AC and innovation. EO is significant, but it may not be sufficient to improve SCR if the firm is unable to absorb external knowledge and innovate.

Abstract
Governments are increasingly emphasizing emergency management in response to public emergencies that cause extensive consequences and involve multiple government agencies. One of the influential measures adopted by governments is the establishment of cross-agency networks. Scholars have validated the importance of cross-agency collaboration and networks, but only a few studies have examined cross-agency information sharing and utilization mechanism of joint emergency actions. Inspired by the theory of network embeddedness, we study the joint effects of informational and task attributes of embeddedness and absorptive capacity of the leading agency on collaborative emergency capacity. Our data consist of 110 local government contingency plans collected from F District in Shanghai, China. We found that a well-structured cross-agency network and a leading department with great information accessibility will significantly affect the efficiency of emergency collaborations. The capacity to absorb information significantly enhances the improvement of emergency collaboration. Cross-agency embeddedness in emergency management are not well-prepared. Embeddedness promotes information accessibility and collaborative operations. A leading agency with absorptive capacity promotes collaborative efficiency and flexibility in emergency management.

Abstract
In the past 20 years, the green economy has increasingly attracted the attention of governments and policy makers. However, most studies have only focused on the relationship between the green economy and innovation, and little attention has been given to the relationship between the different innovation stages and the green economy. This study draws on eco-innovation and institutional theories and proposes a model to empirically investigate the effects between the different innovation stages and green economy. Furthermore, it explores how these effects are mediated by knowledge spillover and moderated by absorptive capacity and environment regulations. We use data from the last 5 years (2012-2016) obtained from different China regions to empirically test the model. Results show that knowledge innovation, research and development (R&D) innovation, and product innovation have the same significant positive impact on knowledge spillovers. R&D and product innovation have a significant positive impact on green economy, whereas knowledge innovation has no significant effect on the development of the green economy. Knowledge spillover partially mediates the relationship between the innovation stage and the green economy. Meanwhile, absorptive capacity positively moderates the relationship between knowledge spillover and the green economy. However, environmental regulation negatively moderates the relationship between knowledge spillover and the green economy. In addition, corresponding measures are proposed based on the conclusions.

Abstract
Background Implementation of digital monitoring technology systems is considered beneficial for increasing the safety and quality of care for residents in nursing homes and simultaneously improving care providers’ workflow. Co-creation is a suitable approach for developing and implementing digital technologies and transforming the service accordingly. This study aimed to identify the facilitators and barriers for implementation of digital monitoring technology in residential care for persons with dementia and wandering behaviour, and explore co-creation as an implementation strategy and practice. Methods In this longitudinal case study, we observed and elicited the experiences of care providers and healthcare managers in eight nursing homes, in addition to those of the information technology (IT) support services and technology vendors, during a four-year implementation process. We were guided by theories on innovation, implementation and learning, as well as co-creation and design. The data were analysed deductively using a determinants of innovation framework, followed by an inductive content analysis of interview and observation data. Results The implementation represented radical innovation and required far more resources than the incremental changes anticipated by the participants. Five categories of facilitators and barriers were identified, including several subcategories for each category: 1) Pre-implementation preparations; 2) Implementation strategy; 3) Technology stability and usability; 4) Building competence and organisational learning; and 5) Service transformation and quality management. The combination of IT infrastructure instability and the reluctance of the IT support service to contribute in co-creating value with the healthcare services was the most persistent barrier. Overall, the co-creation methodology was the most prominent facilitator, resulting in a safer night monitoring service. Conclusion Successful implementation of novel digital monitoring technologies in the care service is a complex and time-consuming process and even more so when the technology allows care providers to radically transform clinical practices at the point of care, which offers new affordances in the co-creation of value with their residents. From a long-term perspective, the digital transformation of municipal healthcare services requires more advanced IT competence to be integrated directly into the management and provision of healthcare and value co-creation with service users and their relatives.

Abstract
Suppliers' adoption of sustainable practices plays a critical role for global companies to improve environmental performance. Based on the absorptive capacity theory, this study empirically explores how suppliers' knowledge bases and power relationships influence their adoption of sustainability practices. A longitudinal case study with eight suppliers has been conducted. We find that the adoption of leading sustainable practices requires a supplier's good knowledge base whereas a supplier can adopt imitating and toddling sustainable practices even if it has a limited knowledge base. Both the power of internal sustainability teams and external buyers enhance the effects of suppliers' knowledge bases on the adoption of sustainable practices. Suppliers choose the strategy used in adopting sustainable practices according to the configuration of internal and external power. The results enhance the current understandings of the mechanisms through which knowledge bases and power relationships affect the adoption of sustainable practices. The findings can also help global companies improve the effectiveness of their supplier development efforts and enhance the environmental performance of supply chains.

Abstract
Purpose The understanding of "organisations" has changed fundamentally from seeing them as concrete entities to viewing them as communities of meaning. Mature adults in healthcare learn best when addressing pressing problems in company of their peers. Healthcare is unlike other sectors because of the emotional labour which is part of the experience of clinical staff. Absorptive capacity offers a conceptual model for viewing organisational learning and the encouragement of systemic eloquence can be enabled through a variety of approaches, provided they are designed and delivered as part of a well-thought-through approach to developing local absorptive capacity. Design/methodology/approach This is a viewpoint paper. Findings Healthcare differs from other sectors. Organisational learning can be enabled by a range of approaches, but these need to be sensitive to local circumstances. Originality/value The paper asserts that healthcare is unlike other sectors because of emotional labour on the part of clinical staff. It maintains that organisations are communities of meaning, rather than concrete entities. Systemic eloquence can be enhanced by the concept of absorptive capacity, applied in local contexts.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Training has been the focus of considerable conceptual and empirical attention but is considered a relevant factor for competitive edge in companies because it has a positive impact on business performance. This study is justified by the need for deeper analysis of the process involving the transfer of training into performance. This paper's originality lies in the implementation of the absorptive capacities approach as an appropriate conceptual framework for designing a model that reflects the connection between training and business performance through absorptive capacities. RESULTS Based on the above conceptual framework and using the dual methodological implementation, a new method of analyzing the relationship between training and performance was obtained: efforts in training will not lead to performance without the mediation of absorptive. CONCLUSIONS Training turns into performance if absorptive capacities are involved in this process. The suggested model becomes an appropriate framework for explaining the process of transformation of training into organizational performance, in which absorptive capacities play a key role. The findings obtained can go further owing to fs/QCA: of the different absorptive capacities, that of exploitation is a necessary condition to achieve better organizational performance. Therefore, training based on absorptive capacity will guide and facilitate the design of appropriate human resource strategies so that training results in improved performance. This conclusion is relevant for the development of a new facet of absorptive capacities by relating it to training and resulting in first-level implications for human resource management.

Abstract
Background While past research has recognized the importance of the dynamic nature of absorptive capacity, there is limited knowledge on how to generate a fair and comprehensive analytical framework. Based on interviews with 24 Chinese firms, this study develops a system-dynamics model that incorporates an important feedback loop among absorptive capacity, technological innovation, and product life cycle (PLC). Results The simulation results reveal that (1) PLC affects the dynamic process of absorptive capacity; (2) the absorptive capacity of a firm peaks in the growth stage of PLC, and (3) the market demand at different PLC stages is the main driving force in firms’ technological innovations. This study also explores a sensitivity simulation using the variables of (1) time spent in founding an external knowledge network, (2) research and development period, and (3) knowledge diversity. The sensitivity simulation results show that the changes of these three variables have a greater impact on absorptive capacity and technological innovation during growth and maturity stages than in the introduction and declining stages of PLC. Conclusions We provide suggestions on how firms can adjust management policies to improve their absorptive capacity and technological innovation performance during different PLC stages.
