Abstract
RATIONALE Prior studies that used positive emotion infusions (PEIs) to increase help-seeking for depression found initial support for the approach (Siegel & Thomson, 2016; Straszewski & Siegel, 2018, 2020). However, as people with depression experience negative biases that may be maximized when self-relevance is high (Clark et al., 1999), a potential way to maximize the effect of the PEI approach may be to reduce self-focus. OBJECTIVE We used two preregistered studies (US; 2/19/19 to 9/25/19) to identify the strongest version of a savoring writing task for the current context (Study 1) and test it in the form of a savoring-public service announcement (Study 2; S-PSA). METHODS Study 1 (N = 1308) compared five savoring writing tasks that varied in self-focus to a control writing task: vicarious, self-distanced, relational, combination, and personal savoring. Study 2 (N = 1238) compared a relational S-PSA to a comparison PSA and a basic control video on help-seeking attitudes, intentions, and behavior. RESULTS In Study 1, relational savoring was associated with greater help-seeking intentions than the combination savoring condition among all participants and greater help-seeking intentions than the control among participants who self-reported paying full attention during the study. In Study 2, the S-PSA did not perform better than the comparison PSA or basic control video on the outcome measures. CONCLUSIONS The present research highlights three important takeaways. 1) Researchers should continue to explore relational savoring as an approach to increase help-seeking for depression. 2) Similar to findings of prior depression help-seeking studies, crowdsourcing platforms may be useful for testing informational videos but less appropriate for testing videos that require deep levels of thinking for people experiencing heightened depressive symptomatology. 3) From a theoretical and methodological standpoint, these studies underscore the value of conceptual replications using multiple methods.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Informing couples about the diagnosis of severe fetal pathologies is part of the daily routine in fetal medicine. This situation is usually complex and can put untrained professionals in an uncomfortable position. The aim of this study was to assess the perception of health care professionals when faced with the need to announce a fetal pathology in order to target their training gaps in this domain. MATERIALS AND METHODS A questionnaire was created and disseminated on a national level among physicians practicing or collaborating with the multidisciplinary centers of prenatal diagnosis in France. The questionnaire focused on the difficulties encountered by practitioners when announcing fetal pathologies, and their potential interest in simulation sessions regarding the delivery of bad news. RESULTS 193 participants filled the questionnaire. 65 % report not receiving any theoretical courses in this field during their initial training, 49 % admit feeling uncomfortable when a fetal anomaly needs to be announced, 79.5 % think that role-play could help them, 87.5 % believe that training sessions in communication skills would help improve their methods and 73.1 % support teaching the delivery of bad news by simulation sessions. CONCLUSION This survey illustrates the significance of announcing a fetal pathology for fetal medicine professionals. Many of them report not being properly trained to cope with this situation and would like to improve with a more practical way of teaching. Simulation would be the ideal educational tool to meet this demand.

Abstract
Background Interventions to raise community awareness about malaria prevention and treatment have used various approaches with little evidence on their efficacy. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of loudspeaker announcements regarding malaria care and prevention practices among people living in the malaria endemic villages of Banmauk Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar. Methods Four villages among the most malaria-burdened areas were randomly selected: two villages were assigned as the intervention group, and two as the control. Prior to the peak transmission season of malaria in June 2018, a baseline questionnaire was administered to 270 participants from randomly selected households in the control and intervention villages. The loudspeaker announcements broadcasted health messages on malaria care and prevention practices regularly at 7:00 pm every other day. The same questionnaire was administered at 6-month post intervention to both groups. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square, and the t-test were utilized to assess differences between and within groups. Results Participants across the control and intervention groups showed similar socio-economic characteristics; the baseline knowledge, attitude and practice mean scores were not significantly different between the groups. Six months after the intervention, improvements in scores were observed at p-value < 0.001 in both groups, however; the increase was greater among the intervention group. The declining trend of malaria was also noticed during the study period. In addition, more than 75% of people expressed positive opinions of the intervention. Conclusions The loudspeaker intervention was found to be feasible and effective, as shown by the significant improvement in scores related to prevention and care-seeking practices for malaria as well as reduced malaria morbidity. Expanding the intervention to a larger population in this endemic region and evaluating its long-term effectiveness are essential in addition to replicating this in other low-resource malaria endemic regions.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Announcing the diagnosis allows the therapeutic alliance between physicians and patients to be sealed and it prevents abandonment of treatment. To compensate for the deficit in information received by the families, the Franco-African Group of Pediatric Oncology (FAGPO) has published an "African Pediatric Cancer Announcement Guide" for the group's pediatric oncology units. OBJECTIVE To analyze the announcements made to parents and children 2 years after the provision of this guide. METHODS Cross-sectional survey conducted from March to July 2016. In total, 69 parents of children followed up in the pediatric oncology unit of Abidjan were interviewed regarding the characteristics of the announcement that was made to them and the information given to the sick child. RESULTS Of all the accompanying individuals, 91% reported having benefited from the announcement made with empathy, mainly by a physician. In approximately one quarter of the cases the information had been given to a third party. The main barriers to information were: the negative experiences of parents, the medical terminology, and communication problems. The sick child was rarely informed. DISCUSSION The information given was in accordance, in content and form, with the data from Western and African literature. The lack of information given to the child has a dual explanation: the primacy of the community over the individual advocated by African culture and the non-integration of the rights of children in the current code of ethics. CONCLUSION The information provided could be improved by practical training of physicians in the technique of breaking bad news to patients and their families and the use of a code of ethics in accordance with the principle of autonomy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION This qualitative study aimed to explore the real life experience of the patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at the time they receive the diagnosis. METHODS Data were collected using face to face interviews in general practice as well as focus groups in a pulmonary rehabilitation centre. RESULTS Thirty-four patients participated in the study. Most of them were made aware of their disease by a pulmonologist during hospitalisation for an acute exacerbation. Several terms were used to name the disease including emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis and COPD (acronym often not explained). At the time of the announcement, patients expressed responses which included for some a sense of stupefaction associated with anxiety and for others guilt and an attitude of denial. If the need for smoking cessation was mentioned by doctors, a lack of information at the time of the announcement was general. The chronic and potentially serious aspects of COPD were not understood or rarely mentioned. CONCLUSION The announcement of the disease did not always appear to have been of good quality. Ideally, the diagnosis of COPD should be conveyed to people after its identification in a dedicated consultation, combined with better information and a proposal for psychological support.

Abstract
PURPOSE The primary care physician (PCP) is central to cancer patients' management. Announcement of the diagnosis is a critical time for patients, even if they wish to be fully informed. The French National Cancer Plan, developed 10 years ago, includes a diagnosis disclosure procedure (DDP) to be used by oncologists, which makes specific provision for a time of communication with PCPs. So, we asked PCPs about their role in cancer announcement since the launching of the DDP. METHODS A cross-sectional prospective study by postal questionnaire was sent to 500 PCPs in the largest region of France. It addressed (1) the characteristics of cancer disclosure, (2) PCPs' source of information of the diagnosis, (3) time of disclosure, (4) information exchange, and (5) the physicians' knowledge of the DDP. RESULTS The response rate was 48 %. In 20 % of cases, oncologists delegated the announcement to PCPs. In 19 % of cases, it was the patient or their family who informed the PCP of the diagnosis. We identified three announcement phases of cancer diagnosis in the physicians' clinical practice: pre-disclosure, disclosure, and repeat disclosure. In 57 % of cases, PCPs lacked information on prognosis and in 60 % on treatment. Regarding the DDP, nearly half of PCPs did not know the procedure itself or its content. CONCLUSION PCPs announce the cancer diagnosis, even if they have not received the necessary information to do so. The DDP needs to be adapted for use in primary care practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Injection drug use plays the most important role in transmission of hepatitis C. In Iran, surveys have been conducted on various high risk groups but this is the first announcement based study for hepatitis C virus HCV prevalence among cases with history of intravenous drug using (IVDU) in the country. METHODS The announcement-based detection and follow-up of patients with anti-HCV positive project in volunteers with history of intravenous drug using was conducted in Isfahan province. At the first step, six focus groups were conducted and 2 pilot studies were carried out in two cities to design the main study. Comprehensive community announcement was done in all of public places and for physicians. The volunteers were invited to Isfahan reference laboratories and the serum samples were sent to Infectious Diseases Research Center Laboratory in standard conditions and HCV-Ab was tested by ELISA method. RESULTS In this study, 1,747 individuals that are estimated 50% of all expected intravenous drug users in the community were presented themselves. The most important reasons of success in recruiting volunteers in this study were the perfect propaganda, appropriate cooperation of lab staffs, continuous evaluation and good cooperation in Isfahan province administrations. HCV-Ab was detected in 34% of them and the HCV-Ab positives were sent for further follow-up procedures including confirmatory test, education, and treatment. CONCLUSIONS In spite of some limitations to select real cases, this study was considered as a successful experience. Compared to the surveys in Iran on HCV prevalence in intravenous drug users, the results of this study, which was based on volunteers by announcement seems to be noteworthy.
