Abstract
Objective: To conduct active surveillance of pneumoconiosis in Jiangsu Province in 2019, to understand the status quo of occupational health of dust-exposed workers, timely detect occupational health damage and occupational hazard factors, and provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of pneumoconiosis in the future. Methods: From January to December 2019, counties (cities and districts) with relatively concentrated dust hazard enterprises in Jiangsu Province were selected as monitoring points to carry out active surveillance of pneumoconiosis, and occupational health examination of dust workers (3540 people) in 255 enterprises were carried out, including chest radiographs and lung function examinations. SPSS 26.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis of the data, and Chi-square test was used to analyze the difference level of the rate between different groups such as gender, age and service. Results: Among the 255 employers, small enterprises accounted for the highest proportion (186 enterprises, 72.94%), private economy accounted for the highest proportion (225 enterprises, 88.24%), and machinery manufacturing industry accounted for the highest proportion (44 enterprises, 17.25%). Among the 3540 workers exposed to dust, 6 suspected occupational diseases (0.17%), 50 occupational contraindications (1.41%), and 1469 other diseases or abnormalities (41.50%) were detected. Among the 3540 workers exposed to dust, 399 (11.27%) had abnormal chest radiography results, and 848 (23.95%) had abnormal lung function indicators. The abnormal detection rate of chest radiographs in males (12.25%, 359/2931) was higher than that in females (6.57%, 40/609), and the abnormal detection rate of lung function in females (32.18%, 196/609) was higher than that in males (22.24%, 652/2931), with statistical significance (P<0.05). The age of the workers exposed to dust ranged from 17 to 75 (41.78±10.39) years old, and the years of service in contact with dust of the workers ranged from 0.08 to 42 (6.72±7.47) years. There were statistically significant differences in the detection rate of abnormal chest radiography and abnormal lung function among different age and seniority workers (P<0.05). The abnormal rates of forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV(1)) and FEV(1)/FVC were 13.79% (488/3540), 15.28% (541/3540) and 1.86% (66/3540), respectively. There were significant differences in the detection rate of abnormal chest radiography and abnormal lung function among workers exposed to different dust types (P<0.05) . Conclusion: There are few suspected occupational diseases detected by active surveillance of pneumoconiosis in Jiangsu Province in 2019, and there are differences in occupational health examination results among workers with different dust types, ages, genders and dust exposure years.

Abstract
Objective: To explore and analyze differential expressed genes in malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) by bioinformatics method, and to study their prognostic value in MPM and their potential role in immunotherapy. Methods: In January 2022, the dataset GSE51024 was downloaded from the GEO database, and MPM (55 cases) and normal tissue (41 cases) samples were obtained. Using R software and HMDD and miRNet database, MPM-related differential genes were screened and co-expressed genes were identified. Co-expressed genes were enriched and functionally annotated, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks were constructed and key genes were identified using the STRING database and Cytoscape software. TRRUST and GEPIA databases were used to predict transcription factors of key genes and to analyze prognosis and survival. The correlation between key genes and the degree of infiltration of immune cells was analyzed using TIMER. Results: A total of 435 co-expressed genes were obtained, which were mainly concentrated in the extracellular matrix tissue and the signaling pathways of cell adhesion molecules. Combined with PPI and TRRUST database, seven key MPM prognostic genes were identified. Among them, cyclin 20 (CDC20) , cell cycle checkpoint kinase 1 (CHEK1) , enhancer of Zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) , ribonucleotide reductase subunit M2 (RRM2) , topoisomerase 2A (TOP2A) , ubiquitin like plant homeodomain and ring finger domain 1 (UHRF1) were significantly up-regulated in MPM, while cyclin A1 (CCNA1) was significantly down-regulated. The expressions of CCNA1, CDC20, CHEK1, EZH2, RRM2, TOP2A and UHRF1 genes were significantly associated with MPM overall survival (P<0.05) . The expressions of CDC20, CHEK1, EZH2, RRM2 and TOP2A genes were positively correlated with B cells and dendritic cells (P<0.05) , and negatively correlated with neutrophils (P<0.05) . Conclusion: CCNA1, CDC20, CHEK1, EZH2, RRM2, TOP2A and UHRF1 may be potential prognostic markers in MPM patients, and their expressions may be related to MPM tumor immunity.

Abstract
Metal working fluidis widely used as coolant, lubricant and rust remover in mechanical processing. Oil mist will be formed in the process of metal working fluid. The composition of oil mist is complex, which can produce many adverse effects on the environment and operators. This paper reviews the health hazards of metal working fluid oil mist on human skin, respiratory system, teratogenic and carcinogenic aspects, and discusses the establishment of occupational exposure limits in workplaces of oil mist in foreign countries, in order to provide reference for the prevention and control of occupational health risks of metal working fluid oil mist and the establishment of occupational exposure limits of oil mist in workplaces in China.

Abstract
Objective: To establish occupational exposure limits for glyphosate in workplace air. Methods: In November 2014, by searching the documents of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on glyphosate toxicity, the toxicity data and clinical symptoms of glyphosate toxicity were collected through various literature databases, and the target organs of glyphosate toxicity were determined. A total of 5 representative production enterprises in Jiangsu Province and Shandong Province were selected for field investigation. A total of 968 people were selected as the study subjects, including 526 workers exposed to glyphosate as the contact group, and 442 off-site (such as financial, administrative, etc.) workers with enterprises as the control group. Health examination was carried out in the exposure group and the control group to observe the damage of target organs of workers with different exposure concentrations and determine the occupational exposure limit. Results: The main target organs of glyphosate are liver and kidney and its effect on cholinesterase activity. The time-weighted average concentration (TWA) of glyphosate exposure in the exposure group was <0.03~48.91 mg/m(3), and there were statistically significant differences in liver and renal function between the exposure group and the control group (P<0.05). When the concentration of glyphosate in the air was higher than 5 mg/m3, there was a statistically significant difference in the abnormal rate of renal function between the exposure group and the control group (P<0.05) . Conclusion: The study sets the occupational exposure limit of glyphosate as 5 mg/m(3). The safety of this standard conforms to the relevant requirements of toxicology and occupational disease epidemiology, and also conforms to the existing economic and technological level in my country, and is highly feasible.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the social security situation of current cases of pneumoconiosis in non-coal mine industries in Jiangsu Province, and to provide reference for the treatment and security work of pneumoconiosis patients. Methods: From January to October 2020, a follow-up survey was conducted on 4038 cases of pneumoconiosis in non-coal mine industries of the province from October 1949 to December 2019. The age, type of pneumoconiosis, industry type, and social security status of the patients were collected. Namely, work-related injury insurance, employer compensation, basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents, major illness insurance, etc. SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical description and analysis. Results: The cases of pneumoconiosis in non-coal mine industries in Jiangsu Province ranged in age from 36 to 105 (70.78±8.43) years old, and had been exposed to dust for 1 to 55 (19.27±9.29) years. Silicosis was the main form (3875 cases, 95.96%), and non-metallic mining and dressing industry was the main form (2618 cases, 64.83%). A total of 3991 cases (98.84%) of pneumoconiosis patients enjoyed social security, most of them were urban and rural residents with basic medical insurance (3624 cases, 89.75%), but there were still 47 patients without any social security. 15 cases (0.37%) enjoyed the subsistence allowance, with the monthly allowance amount ranging from 104 to 3960 yuan, with the average amount of 954.87 yuan/month. Conclusion: In Jiangsu Province, the proportion of pneumoconiosis patients in non-coal mine industries enjoying social security is relatively high, but there are still patients who do not enjoy any social security, and the difference in the amount of subsistence allowance is slightly larger. It is necessary to further improve the medical security of pneumoconiosis patients and improve their quality of life.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize and analyse of literature on the susceptibility genes of noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) , and the key genes were screened and obtained by bioinformatics method, so as to provide reference for the prevention research of NIHL. Methods: In September 2021, Based on CNKI, NCBI Pubmed database and Web of Science database, this paper conducted bibliometric analysis and bioinformatics analysis on the genetic literature related to the susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss from 1999 to 2020. Endnote X9 software and the WPS office software were used for bibliometric analysis, and online software STRING and Cytoscape software were used for bioinformatics analysis. Results: A total of 131 literatures were included in the study, involving 40 genes in total. Bibliometric analysis shows that 131 papers which included 36 Chinese articles and 95 English articles were published in 63 biomedical journals; the highest number of published articles was 19 in 2020. Bioinformatics analysis suggests that GAPDH、SOD2、SOD1、CAT、CASP3、IL6 and other genes play a key role in the interaction network. The involved pathways mainly include MAP2K and MAPK activations, PTEN regulation, P53-depardent G1 DNA damage response, signaoling by BRAF and RAF fusions and soon. Conclusion: The study of noise induced hearing loss involves multi gene biological information, and bioinformatics analysis is helpful to predict the occurrence and development of noise induced hearing loss.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the change trend of underground dust concentration, the incidence and survival status of pneumoconiosis patients, and provide reference for improving the working environment of dust-exposed workers and the prevention and treatment of pneumoconiosis patients in the future. Methods: In February 2020, a retrospective investigation was conducted on the dust data of underground mining operations in a steel enterprise in Jiangsu Province from 1991 to 2019, and the case data of patients diagnosed with pneumoconiosis from 1956 to 2019 were collected. The time trends of the number of pneumoconiosis patients and dust concentration, the stage of pneumoconiosis and survival status of patients were analyzed. Results: From 1956 to 2019, a total of 241 patients with pneumoconiosis were diagnosed in the steel enterprise. From 1991 to 2019, the annual average dust concentration in the mine showed a downward trend as a whole. Compared with the transportation platform (14.28%, 1447/10132) , the average dust concentration exceeding rate of the mining platform (43.68%, 8415/19263) was significantly higher (χ(2)=2674.84, P<0.01) . The average age of pneumoconiosis patients was (73.54±10.42) years old, and the average working age of dust exposure was (21.41±8.68) years, of which 85 cases (35.27%) survived and 156 cases (64.73%) died. The main type of pneumoconiosis was silicosis (90.46%, 218/241) , and the main stage of pneumoconiosis was the stage I (96.68%, 233/241) ; The higher the stage of pneumoconiosis, the younger the diagnosis age (P<0.01) . The average survival time of patients was (27.264±1.982) years, and the median survival time was 28 years. The cumulative survival rates of patients with pneumoconiosis in different diagnosis time periods were significantly different (χ(2)=35.57, P<0.01) . Conclusion: The improved dust-proof measures have a significant effect on reducing the concentration of underground dust. We need to focus on the dust control of underground mining platforms and the treatment of patients with stage Ⅲ pneumoconiosis.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of the combined effect of noise and heat on occupational hearing loss of workers by using Meta-analysis method. Methods: In August 2020, the Chinese and English literature on the relationship between exposure to noise and heat and occupational hearing loss published from January 2005 to August 2020 by CNKI, China Biomedical Literature Service System, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP Official Database, Medline and PubMed Databases were searched, using noise, heat or hyperthermia, hearing as keywords. The selected data were analyzed by Stata 12.0 software, and the combined OR (95% CI) value included in the literature was calculated. Sensitivity analysis was used to explore the source of heterogeneity and analyze publication bias. Results: A total of 14 literatures (14 in Chinese, 0 in English) were included in the analysis, and 38654 subjects were included, including 6411 workers in the noise and heat combined effect group and 32243 workers in the noise alone group. The probability of hearing loss in the noise and heat combined effect group was 1.39 times higher than that in the noise alone group (95%CI: 1.14-1.69). The effect size OR was stable after sensitivity analysis, and there was no publication bias in the included literatures tested by Egger's and Begg's Method (z=0.38, P=0.702, t=-0.74, P=0.476) . Conclusion: Simultaneous exposure to noise and heat may increase the risk of hearing loss for workers in noisy workplaces.

Abstract
Objective: A method for the determination of acetochlor and its metabolites in urine by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was established. Methods: After cleaned-up by a HLB extraction cartridges, the urine was eluted with 1% acetic acid acetonitrile solution. The target compounds were separated by ACQUITY UPLC®HSS T3 Column (2.1 mm×100 mm×1.8 μm) by using 1% formic acid solution and acetonitrile as mobile phase with gradient elution program, and analyzed in positive electrospray ionization mode by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Results: All the target compounds showed good linear relationships in the range of 1-50 μg/L, and the correlation coefficients (r) were higher than 0.997. The recoveries rates at three different spiked levels for all target compounds in blank matrices were 107.6%-129.1%, and the relative standard deviations (RSD) were 1.5%-9.9% (n=6) . The limits of detection and quantitation of the method were 0.04-0.11 μg/L and 0.15-0.42 μg/L, respectively, and target substances were detected in all urine samples from occupational exposure workers to acetochlor. Conclusion: This method is suitable for rapid screening and analysis of acetochlor and metabolites in urine with the advantages of accuracy, rapidity, simplicity, high sensitivity and good specificity.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the incidence of pneumoconiosis in the non-coal mining industry in Jiangsu Province, and provide reference for the prevention and control of pneumoconiosis in the non-coal mining industry. Methods: The data of 7019 newly diagnosed pneumoconiosis patients in non-coal mining industry in Jiangsu Province from January 1956 to December 2019 were collected through the Jiangsu Province Pneumoconiosis Follow-up Network Report System, including the gender of the pneumoconiosis patients, the name of the employer and the location, the industry classification of the employer, the duration of dust exposure in dust exposure, the name of occupational pneumoconiosis disease, the date of diagnosis of pneumoconiosis, etc. The collected case data of patients with pneumoconiosis were entered into the statistical software, and the characteristics of the patients' diagnosis time, region and industry were analyzed. Results: The number of confirmed pneumoconiosis patients in the non-coal mining industry in Jiangsu Province was mostly in 2007 (395 cases) , concentrated in Wuxi City (40.96%, 2875/7019) and Suzhou City (27.72%, 1946/7019) . The industries to which the patients belonged were mainly non-metallic mining and dressing (60.95%, 4278/7019) , and the most common type of pneumoconiosis was silicosis (96.40%, 6766/7019) . The patients were mainly stageⅠpneumoconiosis (61.33%, 4305/7019) . There were statistically significant differences in the mean age of diagnosis and the average duration of dust exposure among patients with different pneumoconiosis stages (P<0.01) . The differences in the average diagnosis age and the average duration of dust exposure of patients with different types of pneumoconiosis were statistically significant (P<0.05) , the mean age of diagnosis and the average duration of dust exposure of electric welders were the smallest, which were (44.92±7.74) years old and (17.38±10.15) years, respectively. Conclusion: The regional and industry distribution characteristics of new pneumoconiosis patients in the non-coal mining industry in Jiangsu Province are obvious, and attention should be paid to the treatment of pneumoconiosis patients with young diagnosed age and short duration of dust exposure, as well as the personal protection and health protection of front-line workers such as electric welders who are exposed to productive dust in a short period of time.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the current situation of safety protection of medical staffs in medical institutions in Jiangsu Province, and to provide scientific basis for strengthening the safety protection of infectious diseases and protecting the occupational health of medical staffs. Methods: From September to October 2020, 1274 medical staffs in 43 medical and health institutions were randomly selected as the subjects. The self-made questionnaire for infectious disease prevention and protection was used to analyze the pre-job training and exposure to occupational harmful factors of the respondents. The influencing factors of using protective equipment and occupational injury were analyzed by binary logistic regression. Results: A total of 1216 valid questionnaires were collected with effective recovery of 95.4%. There were 312 males (25.7%) and 904 females (74.3%) , with an average age of (35.8±9.2) years and average working years of (13.6±9.9) years. Among them, 1143 (94.0%) had participated in pre-job training, 535 (44.0%) thought they were exposed to occupational harmful factors of infectious disease prevention, 1082 (89.0%) used protective equipment in daily operation, and 462 (38.0%) had occupational injury. According to binary logistic regression analysis, the utilization rates of protective equipment for medical staffs in Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (OR=2.473, 95%CI: 1.327-4.607, P=0.004) , 30-39 years old (OR=1.586, 95%CI: 1.038-2.426, P=0.033) , 40-49 years old (OR=2.257, 95%CI: 1.243-4.098, P=0.007) , 50 years old and above (OR=5.879, 95% CI: 1.755-19.692, P=0.004) and pre-job training (OR=2.580, 95%CI: 1.301-5.116, P=0.007) were higher than their respective control groups. And medical staffs with graduate degree or above (OR=0.342, 95%CI: 0.167~0.699, P=0.003) had lower utilization rate of protective equipment. Female (OR=1.902, 95%CI: 1.364-2.654, P<0.001) , 30-39 years old (OR=1.589, 95%CI: 1.157-2.181, P=0.004) , bachelor degree (OR=2.070, 95%CI: 1.419-3.021, P<0.001) , exposure to occupational harmful factors (OR=2.753, 95%CI: 2.086-3.634, P<0.001) were the risk factors for occupational injury of medical staffs. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (OR=0.129, 95%CI: 0.086-0.194, P<0.001) and wearing protective equipment according to regulations (OR=0.597, 95%CI: 0.431-0.827, P=0.002) were the protective factors for occupational injury of medical staffs. Conclusion: At present, the occupational injury rate of medical staffs in Jiangsu Province is high due to various factors in the prevention and control of infectious diseases. It is necessary to pay attention to occupational safety protection, strengthen pre-job training and actively advocate "standard prevention", so as to reduce the exposure risk of harmful factors and promote occupational health of medical staffs.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the distribution and characteristics of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning reported online by Jiangsu Province, and to track the final diagnosis of suspected cases. Methods: The suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning cases in Jiangsu Province reported online from 2014 to 2018 were collected as the survey objects. Based on the reporting of the Occupational Disease Report Card from January 1, 2014 to November 5, 2019, the distribution characteristics and reporting institutions of suspected cases and final confirmed cases were analyzed. Results: From 2014 to 2018, 312 cases of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning were reported online in Jiangsu Province. There were significant differences in the number of online reported cases of occupational chronic lead poisoning, online reported cases of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning and confirmed cases of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning in different years (P<0.05) , especially in 2015. Among the suspected occupational lead poisoning cases reported online, 236 cases (75.6%) were male, mainly distributed in the manufacturing industry, and 246 cases (79.1%) were operators. All the suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning cases reported online were concentrated in private enterprises, 229 cases (73.4%) in small and medium-sized enterprises. The top three cities were Suqian with 111 cases (35.6%) , Yangzhou with 79 cases (25.3%) and Huai'an with 50 cases (16.0%) . From 2014 to 2018, 19 suspected cases of occupational chronic lead poisoning were finally confirmed in Jiangsu Province, with a diagnosis rate of 6.1%. Conclusion: The majority of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning cases reported online in Jiangsu Province are men, manufacturing and small and medium-sized enterprises, and the final diagnosis rate of suspected occupational chronic lead poisoning cases reported online is low.

Abstract
Occupational disease diagnosis standards are an important basis for occupational disease diagnosis, occupational health surveillance, occupational health supervision, occupational disease treatment, occupational disease disability assessment, and handling of occupational disease diagnosis disputes in conjunction with the "Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China". With the successive promulgation of the "Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Administrative Measures on Health Standards", the establishment of a mandatory standard implementation evaluation mechanism has gradually been paid attention to. However, there is still a lack of systematic research on the evaluation of diagnostic criteria for occupational diseases. Therefore, this article combines the current status of the diagnostic standards for occupational diseases in China, and proposes reasonable suggestions on how to carry out the evaluation of the implementation of this type of standard in terms of evaluation methods and content.

Abstract
Objective: To screen and identify plasma differentially expressed genes and related signal pathway by human gene expression profile array and fluorescent quantitative PCR. Methods: From September 2018 to October 2019, 291 workers from a Mercury-in-glass thermometer factory in Jiangsu Province were selected for an occupational health examination, a total of 60 persons were divided into two groups: high and low mercury exposure groups (30 persons in each group) . Plasma total RNA samples from the high exposure group and the low exposure group (10 cases each) were detected by gene expression microarray, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) with fold change >2 were selected. DEGs were submitted to David and Metascape for gene function clustering, pathway and protein interaction network analysis. Finally, fluorescence quantitative PCR was performed to verify the changes in the expression levels of key DEGs in the high exposure group and the low exposure group (another 20 cases in each group) . Results: A total of 269 DEGs, of which 203 up regulated and 66 down regulated were identified in the differential expression analysis of gene expression microarray. Bioinformatics analysis suggested that, DEGs were involved in forebrain development, glial cell fate determinants of GO biological process and PID NF-KB, PTEN signal pathway. NFE2L1, SOX8, SOX6 and RNF2 (P<0.05) were confirmed down regulated in high level group by fluorescent quantitative PCR compared with the low level group (fold changes were 2.10, 11.52, 2.19, and 4.38 respectively) . Conclusion: The plasma NFE2L1, SOX8, SOX6 and RNF2 gene expressions are significantly altered in occupa tional high mercury exposure population. PTEN signaling pathway and fate of glia cells determines the biological process may be closely related to the body injury caused by mercury exposure.

Abstract
Objective: To determine hydrazine quantitatively in workplace air by gas chromatography with large bore capillary column. Methods: In October 2019, hydrazine in the air was adsorbed by acid silica gel tube sampling and desorped using sulfuric acid solution. After derivatization with furfural and extraction, the content of hydrazine was determined by DM-FFAP capillary column gas chromatography with flame ionization detector. Results: The linear regression equation was y=353.8x+21.2 (r=0.9998) between 0.1-2.0 μg/ml of target concentration. The detection limit was 0.030 μg/ml. The lower limit of quantification was 0.100 μg/ml. If 15 L air sample was collected, the minimum detection concentration was 0.004 mg/m(3) and the minimum quantitative concentration was 0.013 mg/m(3) respectively. The average desorption efficiency was 86.5%-89.4%. The recovery was 94.4%-97.1%. The relative standard deviation was 1.6%-4.9%. Hydrazine and furfural derivative was 2-furaldehyde hydrazine. Conclusion: The method has symmetrical peak shape of hydrazine derivatives chromatographic peaks, short analysis time, easy operation, and is suitable for the determination of the concentration of hydrazine in the air in the workplace.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To investigate the stability of IgE in postmortem plasma and hemolyzed samples under different storage conditions and freezing-thawing. Methods Thirty nine cardiac blood samples were collected from non-frozen corpses with the postmortem interval of less than 48 hours, including 20 plasma samples and 19 hemolyzed samples taken from whole blood. The samples were stored at -20 ℃, 4 ℃ and 25 ℃ for 28 d and at -80 ℃ for 1 year to evaluate the stability of IgE under different storage conditions. Repeated freezing-thawing treatment was conducted for 5 times to explore the stability of IgE in postmortem plasma and hemolyzed samples. IgE concentration in plasma and hemolyzed samples was detected by electroluminescence before and after treatment. Results The degradation rates of IgE in plasma samples under the three storage conditions, -20 ℃, 4 ℃ and 25 ℃ were close. After 28 d, the mean value was about 15%, the degradation speed of IgE in hemolyzed samples was faster than that of plasma under the same condition (P<0.05) and the degradation rate was faster than other two conditions under 25 ℃ (P<0.05). The differences in the concentration of plasma samples after freezing at -80 ℃ for 1 year and that before freezing had no statistical significance ( P>0.05), while the concentration of hemolyzed samples was degraded after freezing at -80 ℃ for 1 year (P<0.05). The differences between the detection results of plasma and hemolyzed samples after repeated freezing-thawing for 5 times and that before freezing-thawing showed no statistical significance ( P>0.05). Conclusion IgE has good freezing-thawing stability in postmortem plasma and hemolyzed samples. Stability of IgE is better in postmortem plasma samples than hemolyzed samples, thus it is recommended to separate plasma from postmortem blood samples as soon as possible in forensic practice.

Abstract
Objective: To identify and to analyze occupational exposure factors generating from production process in an enterprise processing waste electronic products, to provide scientific evidences for protection measures. Methods: From June to October 2017, seven waste electrical and electronic product processing enterprises in a province were selected as the research objects. These seven enterprises all include refrigerator dismantling line, washing machine dismantling line, air conditioning dismantling line, TV/computer dismantling line, CRT cutting line. Some enterprises also have circuit board line, wet precious metal recycling line, plastic crushing line, plastic granulating line and other deep processing operations such as precious metal recycling of waste circuit board, waste plastic crushing and recycling. The data were collected by the methods of occupational health field investigation and occupational health testing, and the exposure level of occupational hazard factors was evaluated by combining the effect of the protective facilities of occupational health engineering. Results: the main occupational hazard factors of waste electrical and electronic products treatment enterprises were dust, noise, heavy metal, flame retardant, mercury, fluoride, cyanide, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. 145 effective samples were obtained from heavy metal sampling, including 102 individual samples and 43 fixed-point long-term samples. Among them, 8 samples lead exceeded the standard, all occurred in the TV dismantling line. In addition to flame retardants, plasticizers, insecticides and other components can be detected by high-throughput qualitative analysis using liquid chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Finally, 123 effective 8-h equivalent sound level values were obtained by individual noise detection, 86 of which exceeded the standard, with a rate of 69.9%. Conclusion: there are potential occupational hazards in the process of dismantling waste electrical and electronic products.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To investigate the treatment effect of hollow fiber ultrafiltration technology on hemolytic samples and the differences between IgE concentration and serum concentration before hemolysis in ultrafiltrate. Methods The 33 postmortem blood samples of non-frozen corpses within 72 hours after death were collected, 4 mL blood was taken from each case, among which 1 mL was centrifuged to get serum, and the remaining 3 mL blood was frozen-thawed 3-5 times to cause complete hemolysis. The 2 mL hemolytic samples were processed by hollow fiber ultrafiltration to obtain ultrafiltrate. The hemoglobin concentration in serum, complete hemolytic sample and ultrafiltrate was determined by Van-Zij solution-cyanated methemoglobin assay method, and the total IgE in serum and ultrafiltrate was determined by electrochemical luminescence method. Results The hemoglobin concentration in ultrafiltrate was significantly lower than that in complete hemolytic samples (P<0.05). There was a good correlation between the total IgE detection values of ultrafiltrate and serum (r=0.984). The difference between the serum and the value of IgE in ultrafiltrate after correction had no statistical significance, and the differences between the two in positive rates had no statistical significance (P>0.05). Conclusion Ultrafiltration technology has a good treatment effect on complete hemolytic samples, and the correction value of ultrafiltrate detection is close to the serum level before hemolysis, and therefore, it can be applied to the detection of total IgE of frozen corpse hemolytic samples.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the features, changing trend, and rules of pneumoconiosis in Jiangsu Province, China, as well as the health status of patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods: From July to October 2019, the patients with pneumoconiosis, reported up to the end of 2018 in Jiangsu Province, were enrolled as respondents, and follow-up and retrospective investigation were performed. A total of 24405 patients with pneumoconiosis were investigated, and related data were collected from the monitoring system of cause of death for residents, pneumoconiosis network reporting system, occupational disease diagnosis institution, management institutions for the reporting of occupational diseases, and related residents' committee or village committee. The patients with pneumoconiosis, who had been reported, were followed up by telephone or on-site visit to obtain the information on their conditions. A descriptive analysis was performed for age of onset, working years, sex, category of industry, type of pneumoconiosis, annual disease onset, geographic distribution, and medical security. Results: Among the 24405 patients, a male/female ratio was 16.81∶1. Of all 24405 patients, 15948 (65.35%) had stage 1 pneumoconiosis, 5289 (21.67%) had stage 2 pneumoconiosis, and 1637 (6.71%) had stage 3 pneumoconiosis. The mean working years for dust exposure was 16.25±9.95 years for all patients, and the mean working years for dust exposure was 15.80±9.95 years for patients with stage 1 pneumoconiosis, 17.82±9.80 years for patients with stage 2 pneumoconiosis, and 16.31±9.90 years for patients with stage 3 pneumoconiosis. The highest number of cases of pneumoconiosis was reported in Wuxi (5744 cases, accounting for 23.54%) , followed by Zhenjiang (4160 cases, accounting for 17.05%) , Xuzhou (3851 cases, accounting for 15.78%) , Yancheng (3340 cases, accounting for 13.69%) , and Suzhou (2948 cases, accounting for 12.08%) . Major types of pneumoconiosis included silicosis (15392 cases, accounting for 63.07%) and coal workers' pneumoconiosis (5253 cases, accounting for 21.52%) . In this survey, 21115 completed follow-up, among whom 15924 survived and 5191 died, 15924 patients with pneumoconiosis survived, among whom 7461 (46.85%) had an age of ≥70 years and 2515 (15.79%) were exposed to dust for 5-9 years. The industries involved were mainly coal mining and washing industry (5687 cases, accounting for 35.71%) and public management, social security, and social organization (3349 cases, accounting for 21.03%) ; in terms of security, 7999 patients (50.23%) were covered by occupational injury insurance, 946 (5.94%) were compensated by employers, 4537 (28.49%) were covered by basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents, 1590 (9.98%) were covered by critical illness insurance, and 5458 (34.28%) were covered by other types of social security, such as medical assistance and poverty relief. Conclusion: Silicosis and coal worker's pneumoconiosis are the key points for the prevention and treatment of pneumoconiosis in Jiangsu Province, and supervision should be strengthened for industries and regions with serious dust hazards.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the health status of occupational mercury workers and reveal the effects of mercury exposure on the cardiovascular system. Methods: In June 2019, a total of 2651 mercury workers participated in the occupational health examination between 2016-2018 from a thermometer manufacturing plant and a fluorescent lamp manufacturing plant were included in this study. Then, they were divided into a high-level mercury exposure group (425 workers whose urine mercury concentration >35 μg/g creatinine) and a low-mercury mercury exposure group (2226 workers whose urinary mercury concentration <35 μg/g creatinine) . Mercury concentration in the workplace was also detected. Finally, the results of electrocardiogram (ECG) , blood routine, blood biochemistry and other physical examinations were analyzed. The measurement data of age and exposure years were analyzed by test. Urinary mercury and blood parameters were analyzed by Mann-Whitney nonparametric test. Chi-square test was used for the analyses of gender, ECG abnormality rate and other categorical data. Results: The 8-hour weighted average allowable concentration (CTWA) of mercury in the workplace of high-exposure group was 0.002 2-0.152 mg/m(3). The abnormal rate of ECG in the high-exposed group (29.6%) was higher than that in the low-exposure group (10.1%) in 2018 (P<0.01) . Compared with the low-exposure group, the WBC of the high-exposure group from 2016 to 2018 was increased, with statistically significance (P<0.05) ; the RBC of the high-exposure group in 2016 and 2017 was decreased, with statistically significance (P<0.01) ; the total bilirubin concentration in the high-exposure group was decreased from 2016 to 2018, with statistically significance (P<0.05) . Conclusion: Long-term exposure to high concentration of mercury in the workplace may influence cardiovascular system. Therefore, engineering protection and individual protection should be implemented well.

Abstract
Abstract With the rapid development of the social economy in China, the incidence of diseases caused by excessive drinking is gradually increasing as well. Alcoholic cardiomyopathy refers to long-term high intake of ethanol, and has typical dilated cardiomyopathy characteristics, such as, hemodynamic changes, symptoms, signs, and morphological features. It is a kind of cardiomyopathy that excludes other causes of dilated cardiomyopathy. Due to the lack of specific pathological changes, the forensic pathological identification of alcoholic cardiomyopathy can only be based on the patient's medical history and by ruling out other causes of cardiomyopathy. This paper reviews the pathogenesis and forensic identification of alcoholic cardiomyopathy in order to provide reference for forensic pathologists and clinicians.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To investigate the differences of heart mass and lung mass in forensic autopsy cases and to explore their application value in forensic identification. Methods The data from 1 614 autopsy cases accepted by center of Medico-legal Investigation of China Medical University between 2007 to 2016 were collected. The correlation of heart and lung mass with age, height, body weight, and body mass index (BMI), as well as differences in different causes of death were analyzed by GraphPad Prism 6.0 software. Results The heart mass and lung mass of males were higher than those of females (P<0.05). The heart mass of males and females was positively correlated with age, height, body weight and body mass index (BMI) (P<0.05). The heart mass of patients dying from sudden cardiac death (SCD) was significantly higher than those dying from other causes of death. The lung mass of patients dying from drowning and delayed treatment was higher than those dying from other causes of death (P<0.05). Conclusion In forensic practice, measurement of the heart mass and lung mass has certain significance for differential diagnosis and diagnosis of different causes of death.

Abstract
MMP13 (matrix metallopeptidase 13) plays a key role in bone metabolism and cancer development, but has no known functions in Alzheimer's disease. In this study, we used high-throughput small molecule screening in SH-SY5Y cells that stably expressed a luciferase reporter gene driven by the BACE1 (β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1) promoter, which included a portion of the 5' untranslated region (5'UTR). We identified that CL82198, a selective inhibitor of MMP13, decreased BACE1 protein levels in cultured neuronal cells. This effect was dependent on PI3K (phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase) signalling, and was unrelated to BACE1 gene transcription and protein degradation. Further, we found that eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B) played a key role, as the mutation of eIF4B at serine 422 (S422R) or deletion of the BACE1 5'UTR attenuated MMP13-mediated BACE1 regulation. In APPswe/PS1E9 mice, an animal model of Alzheimer's disease, hippocampal Mmp13 knockdown or intraperitoneal CL82198 administration reduced BACE1 protein levels and the related amyloid-β precursor protein processing, amyloid-β load and eIF4B phosphorylation, whereas spatial and associative learning and memory performances were improved. Collectively, MMP13 inhibition/CL82198 treatment exhibited therapeutic potential for Alzheimer's disease, via the translational regulation of BACE1.

Abstract
The etiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been intensively studied. However, little is known about the molecular alterations in early-stage and late-stage AD. Hence, we performed RNA sequencing and assessed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the hippocampus of 18-month and 7-month-old APP/PS1 mice. Moreover, the DEGs induced by treatment with nicotine, the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist that is known to improve cognition in AD, were also analyzed in old and young APP/PS1 mice. When comparing old APP/PS1 mice with their younger littermates, we found an upregulation in genes associated with calcium overload, immune response, cancer, and synaptic function; the transcripts of 14 calcium ion channel subtypes were significantly increased in aged mice. In contrast, the downregulated genes in aged mice were associated with ribosomal components, mitochondrial respiratory chain complex, and metabolism. Through comparison with DEGs in normal aging from previous reports, we found that changes in calcium channel genes remained one of the prominent features in aged APP/PS1 mice. Nicotine treatment also induced changes in gene expression. Indeed, nicotine augmented glycerolipid metabolism, but inhibited PI3K and MAPK signaling in young mice. In contrast, nicotine affected genes associated with cell senescence and death in old mice. Our study suggests a potential network connection between calcium overload and cellular signaling, in which additional nicotinic activation might not be beneficial in late-stage AD.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the qualifications current situations of the medical and health institutions and certified doctors for providing occupational disease diagnosis in Jiangsu Province to provide reference for occupational disease prevention and control. Methods: Quantitative and qualitative analysis was carried out on 28 institutionsfor occupational disease diagnosis and 1 278 certified doctors for occupational disease diagnosis in Jiangsu Province between 2012 and 2017, announcement from Jiangsu provincial commission of health and family planning commission, SPSS16.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results: By the end of 2017, there had been 28 medical and health institutions which were qualified for providing occupational disease diagnosis in Jiangsu Province, including 16 centers for disease control and prevention, accounting for 57.14%, 6 general hospitals, accounting for 21.42%, and 6 institutes or centers for occupational disease prevention and control, accounting for 21.42%; a total of 313 occupational disease diagnosis were employed in these 28 diagnostic institutions, with 9.4 certified doctors on average in each institution; In addition, 17.86% of the institutions get all the qualifications for diagnosing 10 occupational diseases, and 10.71% of the institutions get the qualification for diagnosing one tothree occupational diseases. A total of 1278 physicians obtain the qualification of certified doctors for occupational disease diagnosis, the largest number was 221 in Wuxi city, at least 16 in Zhenjiang city, including 599 centers for disease control and prevention, accounting for 46.87%, 118 institutes or centers for occupational disease prevention and control, accounting for 9.23%, 304 general hospitals, accounting for 23.79%, 257 enterprise-owned hospitals, accounting for 20.11%; The highest number of occupational poisoning diagnoses was obtained, accounting for 796 (62.28%) . Conclusion: A provincial occupational disease diagnosis network has been established in Jiangsu, but it is far from covering all districts and counties, and the imbalance in regional distribution and specialty programs still exists among the qualified medical and health institutions and certified doctors. It is essential to further strengthen the training of qualified doctors and the development of qualified medical and health institutions.

Abstract
Objective: To study the effect of p-phenylenediamine (PPD) on liver and kidney function in occupational exposed workers. Methods: Workers in a hair dye production enterprise which used p-phenylenediamine as a raw material for production were selected as the main research population. Then we conducted a questionnaire survey on the basic conditions of workers and conducted occupational health checkups on general health status, liver and kidney function. Occupational health examination assessment results were tested in Taizhou Cancer Hospital. All data was built using EpiData 3.1 software, and statistical analysis was performed using software SPSS 20.0. Results: The liver function indicators including direct bilirubin, prealbumin, total protein, and white protein, globulin, aspartate aminotransferase, glutamyl transpeptidase, and total bilirubin in the workers exposed to high concentration of PPD were at high normal values, and these indicators were significantly different from low PPD concentration group (P<0.05) . The serum creatinine and serum uric acid in the renal function index were significantly higher in workers exposed to PPD than in workers exposed to low concentrations and in the control group (P<0.05) . Conclusion: Occupational exposed to PPD may have a hazard to the workers' liver and kidney function. Long-term occupational exposure to PPD may lead to increased cumulative exposure of workers, which may cause potential chronic liver and kidney damage in occupationally exposed populations.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the characteristics and causes of pesticide poisoning in Xuzhou city, and provide basis for formulating prevention and control measures. Methods: The cases of pesticide poisoning in Xuzhou City from 2005 to 2017 were collected from "Pesticide Poisoning Report Card" . The data were analyzed and assessed by EpiData. The SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: During the thirteen years, there were a total of 8092 cases of pesticide poisoning, among which, the number of occupational pesticide poisoning was 1 408, accounting for 17.4% of the total number of cases, 14 patients died, the case fatality rate was 0.1%. There were 2, 992 cases of male poisoning, accounting for 36.97% of the total number of cases, and 5, 100 cases of female poisoning, accounting for 63.03%. There were 6684 non-productive pesticide poisonings, accounting for 82.6% of the total number of cases; 387 deaths occurred, and the mortality rate was 5.8%. Among non-productive poisonings, the incidence of oral pesticide poisoning was 84.3%, and the incidence of accidental poisoning by pesticides was 15.7%. Organophosphorus pesticides poisoning cases accounted for the majority of oral pesticide poisoning cases. The overall incidence of pesticide poisoning showed a downward trend. The age of non-productive pesticide poisoning cases was mainly 15-44 years old, and the number of cases of poisoning were 4 029 cases (60.28%) . With the increase of age, the mortality rate of poisoning cases was higher, especially for those over 60 years old who died of oral pesticide poisoning (40.1%) . The peak of pesticide poisoning began to increase in the second quarter and reached its peak in the third quarter. Conclusion: Although the cases of pesticide poisoning reported in Xuzhou City have been declining in recent years, the situation is still severe. The proportion of oral pesticide suicide accounts for a large proportion, and the mortality rate of elderly and female is relatively high, and the government should pay more attention. Workers should conduct safety education and psychological counseling to improve the knowledge and consciousness of safe use of pesticides.

Abstract
Because cryopreservation can effectively slow down the putrefaction and prolong the preservation time of corpses, it has become the main way of corpse preservation in China. However, it may cause a certain degree of non-specific effects on the corpses and thus interfere with forensic pathological identification. This paper summarizes relevant problems reported in domestic and foreign literature reports and practical identification, and analyzes the effects of cryopreservation on corpses from aspects of anatomical findings, histomorphology, postmortem biochemistry, and postmortem imaging, therefore to provide Chinese forensic workers assistance on problems in their practice of forensic pathology.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of glyphosate on blood routine of occupational exposure population. Methods: The workers who were occupationally exposed to glyphosate were selected as exposure group, and administrative staffs who were not exposed to glyphosate were selected as control group. Occupational health examination was conducted on all the subjects, and personal monitoring was applied to detect the concentration of glyphosate in the air of workplace. Time weighted average (TWA) concentration was calculated by the result of determination. Statistical methods were employed to compare the difference of blood routine results between the contact group and the control group, as well as between different posts. Results: 178 glyphosate workers were included in the contact group, and 203 non-contact persons were included in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference in the equilibrium test between the two groups(P>0.05). The abnormal rate of blood routine in the exposure group and the control group were 70.8% and 69.0%, respectively, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the red blood cell count and platelet distribution width difference (P<0.05) were significant difference. There was no significant difference between different positions (P>0.05). Conclusion: When TWA value is below 9.40 mg/m(3), glyphosate has effect on the results of platelet distribution width and red blood cell count, but has no effect on the abnormal rate of blood routine.

Abstract
Commotio cordis (CC) is the acute death caused by the cardiac rhythm disorder after a sudden blunt external force to the precordium of a healthy person without previous heart disease. As one type of violent heart damage, CC is rare with relatively small external force and sudden death, therefore causing disputes. This paper reviews the epidemiology, mechanisms and the key points in forensic identification of CC, discusses the identification and antidiastole of CC, myocardial contusion, sudden cardiac death and death from inhibition, and provides assistance to forensic pathologists to identify such causes of death.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate whether plasma microRNAs has-let-7d and has-let-7e can be used as potential molecular markers for workers with occupational exposure to mercury. Methods: October 2013, the workers with occupational exposure to mercury who worked in a mercury thermometer factory and participated in occupational health examination were selected as subjects, and biological samples and basic data were collected. The subjects were divided into chronic mercury poisoning group,mercury absorption group,and control group,with 30 individuals in each group. AmicroRNA microarray combined with RT-qPCR was used to measure the expression of has-let-7d and has-let-7e in the three groups, the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to analyze the values of has-let-7d and has-let-7e in the diagnosis of occupational chronic mercury poisoning,a software platform was used to predict target genes. Gene ontology enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway analysis were also performed. Results: Compared with the control group, the chronic mercury poisoning group and the mercury absorption group had significant increases in the expression of has-let-7d and has-let-7e(P<0.05). The areas under the ROC curve for microRNAs has-let-7d and has-let-7e in the diagnosis of occupational chronic mercury poisoning were 0.912(95% confidence interval[CI]0.843-0.981)and 0.908(95%CI0.837-0.979),respectively,and there was a significant difference between them(P<0.001). Conclusion: Plasma microRNAs has-let-7d and has-let-7e can be used as potential molecular markers for workers with occupational exposure to mercury.

Abstract
Objective: A method for the simultaneous determination of organophosphrous pesticides inhuman serum was developed. Methods: Using C18 and PSA as absorbent, 21 organophosphrous pesticides including methamidophos, dichlorvos, acephate, Omethoate, demeton and etc. in human serum were determined by combing QuEChERS with GC-MS, organophosphrous pesticides were qualitatedsimultaneously by retention time and characteristic ions. Their contents were determined by internal standard method of quantitative ions. Results: The linear range was from0to 0.60μg/ml with a good correlation coefficients (r ≥ 0.9961) . The LODs of this methodranged from 0.0009 to 0.0111 μg/ml. The average recoveries of3 organophosphrous pesticides (methamidophos、dichlorvos and acephate) ranged from 71.8%~85.3%, The average recoveries of other 18 organophosphrous pesticidesranged from 82.9%~102.9%. The relative standard deviations were0.8%~7.0%. Conclusion: The convenient operation and versatility of this method are suitable forthe fast screening and accurate detection of 21 organophosphrous pesticides in human serum.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the incidence of occupational diseases in a province of China during the period of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" , and to analyze the features of disease spectrum, the characteristics of regional and industrial distribution, and incidence trend. Methods: Data (2011-2015) were collected from the Information System of Occupational Diseases and Occupational Health to analyze the reported cases of occupational diseases during the period of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". A statistical analysis was performed to identify the characteristics of the disease distribution in terms of sex, age, working years, enterprise type, enterprise scale, and region, as well as the incidence trend. Results: The overall incidence of occupational diseases in this province fluctuated and decreased gradually. There were a total of 5036 new cases of occupational diseases during the period of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" ; 89.45% of them were male, and 69.78% of them were aged 40-69 years; the most frequently seen occupational diseases were pneumoconiosis (72.48%) and ear, nose, throat, and oral diseases (7.23%). Most cases of pneumoconiosis occurred after 5-10 years of exposure, and other occupational diseases usually developed within 10 years of exposure. New cases of occupational diseases were often seen in small and micro enterprises, as well as Wuxi, Suzhou, and Yancheng. Conclusion: During the period of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" , the incidence of occupational diseases in this province decreased gradually, indicating improved control of occupational diseases, but we still need to pay attention to the high-risk population (male, aged over 40 years) , as well as the prevention of occupational noise-induced hearing loss, and to strengthen the supervision of small and micro enterprises.

Abstract
Estrogen-related receptor alpha (ERRα) is a transcriptional factor associated with mitochondrial biogenesis and energy metabolism. However, little is known about the role of ERRα in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Here, we report that in APP/PS1 mice, an animal model of AD, ERRα protein and mRNA were decreased in a region- and age-dependent manner. In HEK293 cells that stably express human full-length β-amyloid precursor protein (APP), overexpression of ERRα inhibited the amyloidogenic processing of APP and consequently reduced Aβ1-40/1-42 level. ERRα overexpression also attenuated Tau phosphorylation at selective sites, with the concomitant reduction of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) activity. Interestingly, alterations of APP processing and Tau phosphorylation induced by hydrogen peroxide were reversed by ERRα overexpression in HEK/APP cells. These results indicated that ERRα plays a functional role in AD pathology. By attenuating both amyloidogenesis and Tau phosphorylation, ERRα may serve as a potential therapeutic target for AD.

Abstract
The α-secretase “a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein” (ADAM10) is involved in the processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP). Upregulation of ADAM10 precludes the generation of neurotoxic β-amyloid protein (Aβ) and represents a plausible therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In this study, we explored compounds that can potentially promote the expression of ADAM10. Therefore, we performed high-throughput small-molecule screening in SH-SY5Y (human neuroblastoma) cells that stably express a luciferase reporter gene driven by the ADAM10 promoter, including a portion of its 5’-untranslated region (5’UTR). This has led to the discovery of cosmosiin (apigenin 7-O-β-glucoside). Here, we report that in human cell lines (SH-SY5Y and HEK293), cosmosiin proportionally increased the levels of the immature and mature forms of the ADAM10 protein without altering its mRNA level. This effect was attenuated by translation inhibitors or by deleting the 5’UTR of ADAM10, suggesting that a translational mechanism was responsible for the increased levels of ADAM10. Luciferase deletion assays revealed that the first 144 nucleotides of the 5’UTR were necessary for mediating the cosmosiin-induced enhancement of ADAM10 expression in SH-SY5Y cells. Cosmosiin failed to increase the levels of the ADAM10 protein in murine cells, which lack native expression of the ADAM10 transcript containing the identified 5’UTR element. The potential signaling pathway may involve phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) because pharmacological inhibition of PI3K attenuated the effect of cosmosiin on the expression of the ADAM10 protein. Finally, cosmosiin attenuated Aβ generation because the levels of Aβ40/42 in HEK-APP cells were significantly reduced after cosmosiin treatment. Collectively, we found that the first 144 nucleotides of the ADAM10 5’UTR, and PI3K signaling, are involved in cosmosiin-induced enhancement of the expression of ADAM10 protein. These results suggest that cosmosiin may be a potential therapeutic agent in the treatment of AD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To study the expression pattern of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in myocardial tissue from forensic routine cases and to explore its application value in the forensic determination of sudden cardiac death (SCD). METHODS The data of 96 autopsy cases accepted by the center of Medico-legal Investigation of China Medical University between December 2008 to May 2014 were collected. There were 62 cases in SCD group cardiac and 34 cases in non-SCD group. The myocardial tissues were taken from left and right ventricular wall, respectively. The expressions of BNP protein and BNP mRNA in myocardial tissue were detected by HE staining, immunohistochemical staining, Western blotting and quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), etc. RESULTS The immunohistochemical staining of myocardial tissue showed diffusely positive staining in SCD group, and patchily or diffusely positive staining in non-SCD group with lighter degree. The result of Western blotting showed that the expression of BNP protein elevated in left ventricular wall of SCD group. The result of RT-qPCR showed a positive correlation between the BNP mRNA expressions in bilateral ventricular walls and the heart weight, bilateral lung weight, and N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) concentration. There were large differences between the BNP mRNA concentrations in SCD group and non-SCD group, and the former was statistically higher (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The expressions of BNP protein and BNP mRNA in myocardial tissue are related to the causes of death. Combined with pathological changes, the expressions of BNP protein and BNP mRNA in myocardial tissue have certainly practical significance for the determination of SCD and the analysis of the death mechanism in the cases related to forensic pathology.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To analyse the cases of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease, and explore the general information of deaths and the forensic pathological characteristics to provide reference evidence for forensic identification of such cases. METHODS Six cases of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease between 2001 and 2016 were selected from School of Forensic Medicine, China Medical University. The general information (gender and age), clinical manifestations, medical history, anatomical and histopathological findings, biochemical parameters and cause of death were analysed retrospectively. RESULTS Most of the 6 patients had definite history of hyperthyroidism, and they all showed certain degrees of symptoms of cardiovascular disease; had obvious incentive factors of death; histopathological examination of thyroid conformed to the performances of diffuse toxic goiter; with increase of cardiac weight, dilatation of cardiac chambers, myocardial hypertrophy and focal necrosis; postmortem biochemical analyses of pericardial fluid could be used as an additional method for diagnostic of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease. CONCLUSIONS The identification of death due to hyperthyroid heart disease should be based on the clinical history and the results of autopsy, histopathological examination, postmortem toxicology tests. The postmortem biochemical detection of thyroid and cardiac function should be performed if necessary.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To observe the expression changes of hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) in rats with arrhythmias, and to explore the differences of the expression pattern in the two indicators of acute myocardial ischemia caused by arrhythmias and coronary insufficiency. METHODS The arrhythmia was induced by CaCl₂, and the expression changes of HIF-1α and VEGF-A were detected by immunohistochemistry, Western blotting and real-time PCR within 6 h after the arrhythmia in rats. RESULTS The expression of HIF-1α and VEGF-A showed diffuse in the myocardial tissue of rats died from arrhythmias. Both of them increased in the early arrhythmia, then decreased. Extensive myocardial ischemia happened at the beginning of arrhythmia occurrence and its range didn't expand with time. CONCLUSIONS The expressions of HIF-1α and VEGF-A in myocardium of the rats with arrhythmia can provide evidence for the differential diagnosis of acute myocardial ischemia caused by fatal arrhythmia and coronary insufficiency.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of occupational exposure to glyphosate on hepatorenal function. Methods: 526 workers who were occupationally exposed to glyphosate from 5 glyphosate-producing factories were selected as cases; and another 442 administrative staffs who were not exposed to glyphosate were selected as controls from April to November, 2014. All the subjects accepted occupational health examination. The concentration level of glyphosate in the air of workshop was detected and the time weighted average concentration (TWA) was calculated. And analyze the difference of hepatorenal fuction between case group and control group. Result: The age of the subjects in the case and control groups were separately (35.6±10.3), (34.3±9.7) years old, with the length of working for (6.5±5.7), (7.7±6.8) years. The TWA of glyphosate in the case group was between <0.03-48.91 mg/m(3), with the geometric mean at 3.78 mg/m(3). The overall rates of abnormal hepatic and renal function in the case group were 14.4% (76 cases) and 16.2% (85 cases), respectively; while those were 5.0% (22 cases) and 4.8% (21 cases), respectively in control group, and the difference showed statistical significance (P<0.05). When TWA reached <0.03-6.00 mg/m(3), the difference of hepatorenal fuction between case group and control group showed statistical significance, and the rates of abnormal hepatic and renal function was 8.0% (36/447) and 9.8% (44/447) respectively in case group. When cumulative exposure level reached <1.56-68.64 g, the difference of hepatorenal fuction between case group and control group showed statistical significance, and the rates increased to 9.2% (37/404) and 10.4% (42/404) respectively in group of cases. Conclusion: Glyphosate can affect the hepatic and renal function among occupational exposure population, and there was an association between the effect and the exposure dose.

Abstract
Using high-throughput small molecule screening targeting furin gene, we identified that phorbol esters dPPA (12-Deoxyphorbol 13-phenylacetate 20-acetate) and dPA (12-Deoxyphorbol 13-acetate) significantly increased furin protein and mRNA expression in SH-SY5Y cells. This effect was prevented by PKC (protein kinase C) inhibitor calphostin C but not Ro318220, suggesting that the C1 domain, rather than the catalytic domain of PKC plays an important role. Luciferase assay revealed that nucleotides -7925 to -7426 were sufficient to mediate dPPA/dPA enhancement of furin P1 promoter activity. RNA interference of transcriptional factors CEBPβ (CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein β) and GATA1 revealed that knockdown of CEBPβ significantly attenuated the effect of dPPA on furin expression. Pharmacological inhibition of ERK and PI3K but not TGFβ receptor diminished the up-regulation of furin by dPPA. These results suggested that in neuronal cells, transcriptional activation of furin by dPPA/dPA may be initiated by C1 domain containing proteins including PKC; the intracellular signaling involves ERK and PI3K and transcription factor CEBPβ.

Abstract
Objective: To establish a method to detect the concentrations of dimethyl sulfate in the air of workplace by GC-MS. Methods: DMS in the air of workplace adsorpted by Silicone tube, then desorped by acetone, add 1.0 ml of acetone, shake 1 min, placed after 30 min, the desorption solution qualitative and quantitative determination by gas chromatography-mass. Results: The calibration curves were liner in the range of 0.1-200.0 μg/ml. The within-run and between-run precisions were 2.6%-4.7% and 4.0%-9.0% respectively. The method detection limit is 0.1 μg/ml, the minimum detectable concentration is 0.02 mg/m(3) (in terms of sampling 4.5 L) . Add 1 ml of desorption liquid, place 30 min, the average desorption efficiency of more than 90%. Conclusion: This method has simple pretreatment, short analysis period, and optimized linear rage and limit of detection, and is suitable for the determination of DMS in workplace air.

Abstract
Background Nicotine is known to differentially regulate cortical interneuron and pyramidal neuron activities in the neocortex, while the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been well studied. In this study, RNA-sequencing was performed in acutely isolated cortical somatostatin (Sst)- positive interneurons and pyramidal neurons (Thy1) from mice treated with systemic nicotine for 14 days. We assessed the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) by nicotine in Sst- or Thy1- neurons, respectively, and then compared DEGs between Sst- and Thy1- neurons in the absence and presence of nicotine. Results In Sst-neurons, the DEGs by nicotine were associated with glycerophospholipid and nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism; while in Thy1-neurons those related to immune response and purine and pyrimidine metabolisms were affected. Under basal condition, the DEGs between Sst- and Thy1- neurons were frequently associated with signal transduction, phosphorylation and potassium channel regulation. However, some new DEGs between Sst- and Thy1- neurons were found after nicotine, the majority of which belong to mitochondrial respiratory chain complex. Conclusions Nicotine differentially affected subset of genes in Sst- and Thy1- neurons, which might contribute to the distinct effect of nicotine on interneuron and pyramidal neuron activities. Meanwhile, the altered transcripts associated with mitochondrial activity were found between interneurons and pyramidal neurons after chronic nicotine. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes in protein expression in patients with 1-bromopropane (1-BP) poisoning using high-throughput proteomic technique and to screen out protein markers. Methods: Serum samples were collected from 3 patients with 1-BP poisoning and 15 controls. The label-free proteomic tech-nique was used for the quantitation and identification of proteins expressed in these samples, and the results were compared between the patients with 1-BP poisoning and the control population. The bioinformatics tools were used to analyze the function of differentially expressed proteins. Results: Compared with the control popula-tion, the patients with 1-BP poisoning had >2-fold upregulation of 38 proteins and >2-fold downregulation of 68 proteins. The differentially expressed proteins were mainly involved in immune response, signal transduction, and stress response. Conclusion: The proteins screened out may be potential protein markers for 1-BP poison-ing, which provides reliable and precise methods and thoughts for the diagnosis of 1-BP poisoning.

Abstract
ADAM10 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 10) is the α-secretase that is involved in APP (β-amyloid precursor protein) processing. Enhancement of the nonamyloidogenic APP pathway by ADAM10 provides therapeutic potential for Alzheimer's disease (AD). By using high-throughput screening that targeted ADAM10, we determined that apicidin-an inhibitor of HDACs (histone deacetylases)-significantly increased mRNA and protein levels of ADAM10 in SH-SY5Y cells. A luciferase assay revealed that the nucleotides -444 to -300 in the ADAM10 promoter were sufficient to mediate this effect. In addition, knockdown of USF1 (upstream transcription factor 1) and HDAC2/3 prevented apicidin regulation of ADAM10. Moreover, USF1 acetylation was increased by apicidin, which enhanced the association of USF1 with HDAC2/3 and with the ADAM10 promoter. We further found that apicidin did not affect the phosphorylation of ERK or USF1; however, ERK inhibitor U0126 blocked the effect of apicidin on ADAM10. Finally, apicidin increased the level of α-site C-terminal fragment from APP and reduced the production of β-amyloid peptide 1-42. Collectively, our study provides evidence that ADAM10 expression can be regulated by HDAC2/3 inhibitor apicidin via USF1-dependent mechanisms in which ERK signaling plays an important role. Abstract
Objective: To investigate and analyze the influential factors of occupational hazard acci-dents, emergency facilities and emergency management in Silicon solar cell producing enterprises, then to pro-vide scientific strategies. Methods: The methods of occupationally healthy field investigating, inspecting of ven-tilation effectiveness, setup of emergency program and wearing chemical suit were used. Results: The mainly occupational hazard accidents factors in the process of Silicon solar cell producing included poisoning chemi-cals, high temperature, onizing radiation and some workplaces. The poisoning chemicals included nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, chlorine, phos-phorus oxychloride, phosphorus pentoxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, silane, and so on; the workplaces in-cluded the area of producing battery slides and auxiliary producing area. Among the nine enterprises, gas detec-tors were installed in special gas supplying stations and sites, but the height, location and alarmvalues of gas detectors in six enterprises were not according with standard criteria; emergency shower and eyewash equip-ment were installed in workplaces with strong corrosive chemicals, but the issues of waste water were not solved; ventilation systems were set in the workplaces with ammonia and silane, but not qualified with part lo-cations and parameters in two enterprises; warehouses with materials of acid, alkali, chemical ammonia and phosphorus oxychloride were equipped with positive - pressure air respirator resuscitator and emergency cabi-nets, but with insufficient quantity in seven enterprises and expiration in part of products. The error rate of set-up emergency program and wearing chemical cloth were 30%~100% and 10%~30%, respectively. Among the nine enterprises, there were emergency rescue plans for dangerous chemical accidents, but without profession-al heatstroke and irradiation accident emergency plans, lack of archives of descripting and evaluating for pro-cessing in emergency exercises as well. There were emergency rescue agreements between enterprises and medi-cal institutions which varied in occupational poisoning rescue capacities and were lack of training and exercise regularly. Conclusion: There were a variety of occupational hazard factors in Silicon solar cell producing enter-prises including potential chemical burns, acute poisoning, occupational heatstroke, accident risk of ionizing radiation, and we must strengthen the management of emergency rescue for Silicon solar cell producing enter-prises.
