Investigation of the Degradation of LiPF6- in Polar Solvents through Deep Potential Molecular Dynamics

The nonaqueous electrolyte based on lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) is the dominant liquid electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, trace protic impurities, including H3O+, alcohols, and hydrofluoric acid (HF), can trigger a series of side reactions that lead to rapid capacity fading in high energy density LIBs. It is worth noting that this degradation process is highly dependent on the polarity of the solvents. In this work, a deep potential (DP) model is trained with a certain commercial electrolyte formula through a machine learning method. H3O+ is anchored with polar solvents, making it difficult to approach the PF6-, and suppressing the degradation process quickly at room temperature. Control experiments and simulations at different temperatures or concentrations are also performed to verify it. This work proposes a precise model to describe the solvation structure quantitatively and offers a new perspective on the degradation mechanism of PF6- in polar solvents.

Evidence for Chiral Wobbler in Nuclei

Three ΔI=1 bands with the πg_{9/2}⊗νg_{9/2} configuration have been identified in _{35}^{74}Br_{39}. Angular distribution, linear polarization, and lifetime measurements were performed to determine the multipolarity, type, mixing ratio, and absolute transition probability of the transitions. By comparing these experimental observations with the corresponding fingerprints and the quantum particle rotor model calculations, the second and third lowest bands are, respectively, suggested as the chiral partner and one-phonon wobbling excitation built on the yrast band. The evidence indicates the first chiral wobbler in nuclei.

Manipulated Fluoro-Ether Derived Nucleophilic Decomposition Products for Mitigating Polarization-Induced Capacity Loss in Li-Rich Layered Cathode

Electrolyte engineering is a fascinating choice to improve the performance of Li-rich layered oxide cathodes (LRLO) for high-energy lithium-ion batteries. However, many existing electrolyte designs and adjustment principles tend to overlook the unique challenges posed by LRLO, particularly the nucleophilic attack. Here, we introduce an electrolyte modification by locally replacing carbonate solvents in traditional electrolytes with a fluoro-ether. By benefit of the decomposition of fluoro-ether under nucleophilic O-related attacks, which delivers an excellent passivation layer with LiF and polymers, possessing rigidity and flexibility on the LRLO surface. More importantly, the fluoro-ether acts as "sutures", ensuring the integrity and stability of both interfacial and bulk structures, which contributed to suppressing severe polarization and enhancing the cycling capacity retention from 39 % to 78 % after 300 cycles for the 4.8 V-class LRLO. This key electrolyte strategy with comprehensive analysis, provides new insights into addressing nucleophilic challenge for high-energy anionic redox related cathode systems.

Observation of the Exotic 0_{2}^{+} Cluster State in ^{8}He

We report here the first observation of the 0_{2}^{+} state of ^{8}He, which has been predicted to feature the condensatelike α+^{2}n+^{2}n cluster structure. We show that this state is characterized by a spin parity of 0^{+}, a large isoscalar monopole transition strength, and the emission of a strongly correlated neutron pair, in line with theoretical predictions. Our finding is further supported by the state-of-the-art microscopic α+4n model calculations. The present results may lead to new insights into clustering in neutron-rich nuclear systems and the pair correlation and condensation in quantum many-body systems under strong interactions.

Toward a molecular understanding of the conductivity of lithium-ion conducting polyanion polymer electrolytes by molecular dynamics simulation

With the improved lithium-ion transference number near unity, the low conductivity of single lithium-ion conducting solid polymer electrolytes (SLIC-SPEs) still hinders their application in high-rate batteries. Though some empirical conclusions on the conducting mechanism of SLIC-SPEs have been obtained, a more comprehensive study on the quantitative relationship between the molecular structure factors and ionic conduction performance is expected. In this study, a model structure that contains adjustable main chain and anion groups in the polyethylene oxide (PEO) matrix was used to clarify the influence of molecular structural factors on ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability of SLIC-SPEs. The anionic group was further disassembled into the intermediate group and end group while the main chain structure was distinguished into different degrees of polymerization and various lengths of the spacers between anions. Therefore, a well-defined molecular structure was employed to describe its relationship with ionic conductivity. In addition, the dissociation degree of salts and mobility of ions changing with the molecular structure were also discussed to explore the fundamental causes of conductivity. It can be concluded that the anion group affects the conductivity mainly via the dissociation degree, while the main chain structure impacts the conductivity by both dissociation degree and mobility.

Bifunctional Localized High-Concentration Electrolyte for the Fast Kinetics of Lithium Batteries at Low Temperatures

Traditional lithium batteries cannot work well at low temperatures due to the sluggish desolvation process, which limits their applications in low-temperature fields. Among various previously reported approaches, solvation regulation of electrolytes is of great importance to overcome this obstacle. In this work, a tetrahydrofuran (THF)-based localized high-concentration electrolyte is reported, which possesses the advantages of a unique solvation structure and improved mobility, enabling a Li/lithium manganate (LMO) battery to cycle stably at room temperature (retains 85.9% after 300 cycles) and to work at a high rate (retains 69.0% at a 10C rate). Apart from that, this electrolyte demonstrates superior low-temperature performance, delivering over 70% capacity at -70 °C and maintaining 72.5 mAh g^-1 (≈77.1%) capacity for 200 cycles at a 1C rate at -40 °C. Also, even when the rate increases to 5C, the battery could still operate well at -40 °C. This work demonstrates that solvation regulation has a significant impact on the kinetics of cells at low temperatures and provides a design method for future electrolyte design.

Dynamically Interfacial pH-Buffering Effect Enabled by N-Methylimidazole Molecules as Spontaneous Proton Pumps toward Highly Reversible Zinc-Metal Anodes

Aqueous zinc-metal batteries have attracted extensive attention due to their outstanding merits of high safety and low cost. However, the intrinsic thermodynamic instability of zinc in aqueous electrolyte inevitably results in hydrogen evolution, and the consequent generation of OH^- at the interface will dramatically exacerbate the formation of dead zinc and dendrites. Herein, a dynamically interfacial pH-buffering strategy implemented by N-methylimidazole (NMI) additive is proposed to remove the detrimental OH^- at zinc/electrolyte interface in real-time, thus eliminating the accumulation of by-products fundamentally. Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance and molecular dynamics simulation results reveal the existence of an interfacial absorption layer assembled by NMI and protonated NMI (NMIH⁺ ), which acts as an ion pump for replenishing the interface with protons constantly. Moreover, an in situ interfacial pH detection method with micro-sized spatial resolution based on the ultra-microelectrode technology is developed to probe the pH evolution in diffusion layer, confirming the stabilized interfacial chemical environment in NMI-containing electrolyte. Accordingly, with the existence of NMI, an excellent cumulative plating capacity of 4.2 Ah cm^-2 and ultrahigh Coulombic efficiency of 99.74% are realized for zinc electrodes. Meanwhile, the NMI/NMIH⁺ buffer additive can accelerate the dissolution/deposition process of MnO₂ /Mn²⁺ on the cathode, leading to enhanced cycling capacity.

A Janus Separator based on Cation Exchange Resin and Fe Nanoparticles-decorated Single-wall Carbon Nanotubes with Triply Synergistic Effects for High-areal Capacity Zn-I2 Batteries

Zn-I2 batteries stand out in the family of aqueous Zn-metal batteries (AZMBs) due to their low-cost and immanent safety. However, Zn dendrite growth, polyiodide shuttle effect and sluggish I2 redox kinetics result in dramatically capacity decay of Zn-I2 batteries. Herein, a Janus separator composed of functional layers on anode/cathode sides is designed to resolve these issues simultaneously. The cathode layer of Fe nanoparticles-decorated single-wall carbon nanotubes can effectively anchor polyiodide and catalyze the redox kinetics of iodine species, while the anode layer of cation exchange resin rich in -SO3- groups is beneficial to attract Zn2+ ions and repel detrimental SO42-/polyiodide, improving the stability of cathode/anode interfaces synergistically. Consequently, the Janus separator endows outstanding cycling stability of symmetrical cells and high-areal-capacity Zn-I2 batteries with a lifespan over 2500 h and a high-areal capacity of 3.6 mAh cm-2.

Investigating the mechanism of interactive regulation of B-cell lymphoma-2/Beclin 1 through electroacupuncture intervention during reperfusion in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in a rat model

To observe the regulation of B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2)/Beclin 1 interaction through electroacupuncture (EA) intervention during reperfusion and to investigate the EA mechanism of apoptosis-autophagy interactive regulation against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI). A total of 48 adult Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into the sham-operated group (group Sham), the model group (group Model), the EA group (group EA), and the JNK inhibitor (SP600125) group (group JNK), with 12 rats in each group. Biospecimens were collected randomly from six rats in each group four hours after reperfusion. Evans Blue and triphenyl tetrazolium chloride double-staining were applied to observe each group's myocardial damage area and risk area. We collected 4 ml of blood by abdominal aortic method to detect serum troponin cTnI level by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). For the remaining six in each group, a part of myocardial tissue below the ligation line was stored in 4% paraformaldehyde for immunohistochemistry and TUNEL staining; the other amount of myocardial tissue was detected by Western blotting to determine the expression levels of Bcl-2, Beclin1, and the phosphorylation levels of Thr69, Ser70, and Ser87 in Bcl-2. In results: electroacupuncture (EA) intervention during reperfusion significantly reduced the myocardial infarction area, cTnI level, and myocardial apoptosis, upregulated Bcl-2 expression, downregulated Beclin 1 expression and inhibited phosphorylation levels of Thr69, Ser70, and Ser87 in Bcl-2. We concluded that EA effectively inhibited apoptosis by upregulating Bcl-2 expression and inhibiting the phosphorylation of Thr69, Ser70, and Ser87 in Bcl-2. This reduced the separation of Bcl-2 and Beclin 1, restrains excessive autophagy, alleviates MIRI, and has a protective effect on myocardial tissue.

[Interference of P2X4 receptor expression in tumor-associated macrophages suppresses migration and invasion of glioma cells]

OBJECTIVE

To investigate the effect of interference of P2X4 receptor expression in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) on invasion and migration of glioma cells.

METHODS

C57BL/6 mouse models bearing gliomas in the caudate nucleus were examined for glioma pathology with HE staining and expressions of Iba-1 and P2X4 receptor with immunofluorescence assay. RAW264.7 cells were induced into TAMs using conditioned medium from GL261 cells, and the changes in mRNA expressions of macrophage polarization-related markers and the mRNA and protein expressions of P2X4 receptor were detected with RT-qPCR and Western blotting. The effect of siRNA-mediated P2X4 interference on IL-1β and IL-18 mRNA and protein expressions in the TAMs was detected with RT-qPCR and Western blotting. GL261 cells were cultured in the conditioned medium from the transfected TAMs, and the invasion and migration abilities of the cells were assessed with Transwell invasion and migration experiment.

RESULTS

The glioma tissues from the tumor-bearing mice showed a significantly greater number of Iba-1-positive cells, where an obviously increased P2X4 receptor expression was detected (P=0.001), than the brain tissues of the control mice (P < 0.001). The M2 macrophage markers (Arg-1 and IL-10) and M1 macrophage markers (iNOS and TNF-α) were both significantly up-regulated in the TAMs derived from RAW264.7 cells (all P < 0.01), but the up-regulation of the M2 macrophage markers was more prominent; the expression levels of P2X4 receptor protein and mRNA were both increased in the TAMs (P < 0.05). Interference of P2X4 receptor expression significantly lowered the mRNA(P < 0.01)and protein (P < 0.01, P < 0.05)expression levels of IL-1β and IL-18 in the TAMs and obviously inhibited the ability of the TAMs to promote invasion and migration of the glioma cells (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSION

Interference of P2X4 receptor in the TAMs suppresses the migration and invasion of glioma cells possibly by lowering the expressions of IL-1β and IL-18.

Anion-Containing Solvation Structure Reconfiguration Enables Wide-Temperature Electrolyte for High-Energy-Density Lithium-Metal Batteries

The demand for high-energy-density lithium batteries (LBs) that work under a wide temperature range (-40 to 60 °C) has been increasing recently. However, the conventional lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF₆)-based ester electrolyte with a solvent-based solvation structure has limited the practical application of LBs under extreme temperature conditions. In this work, a novel localized high-concentration electrolyte (LHCE) system is designed to achieve the anion-containing solvation structure with less free solvent molecules using lithium difluorophosphate (LiPO₂F₂) as a lithium salt, which enables wide-temperature electrolyte for LBs. The optimized solvation structure contributes to the cathode-electrolyte interface (CEI) with abundant LiF and P-O components on the surface of the LiNi_0.5Co_0.2Mn_0.3O₂ (NCM523) cathode, effectively inhibiting the decomposition of electrolyte and the dissolution of transition-metal ions (TMIs). Moreover, the weakened Li⁺-dipole interaction is also beneficial to the desolvation process. Therefore, the 4.3 V Li||NCM523 cell using the modified electrolyte maintains a high capacity retention of 81.0% after 200 cycles under 60 °C. Meanwhile, a considerable capacity of 70.9 mAh g^-1 (42.0% of that at room temperature) can be released at an extremely low temperature of -60 °C. This modified electrolyte dramatically enhances the electrochemical stability of NCM523 cells by regulating the solvation structure, providing guidelines for designing a multifunctional electrolyte that works under a wide temperature range.

First Observation of the Four-Proton Unbound Nucleus ^{18}Mg

^{18}Mg was observed, for the first time, by the invariant-mass reconstruction of ^{14}O+4p events. The ground-state decay energy and width are E_{T}=4.865(34)  MeV and Γ=115(100)  keV, respectively. The observed momentum correlations between the five particles are consistent with two sequential steps of prompt 2p decay passing through the ground state of ^{16}Ne. The invariant-mass spectrum also provides evidence for an excited state at an excitation energy of 1.84(14) MeV, which is likely the first excited 2^{+} state. As this energy exceeds that for the 2^{+} state in ^{20}Mg, this observation provides an argument for the demise of the N=8 shell closure in nuclei far from stability. However, in open systems this classical argument for shell strength is compromised by Thomas-Ehrman shifts.

[rCsHscB derived from Clonorchis sinensis has therapeutic effect on dextran sodium sulfate-induced chronic ulcerative colitis in mice]

To investigate the therapeutic effect of rCsHscB derived from Clonorchis sinensis on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced chronic ulcerative colitis in mice.

OBJECTIVE

C57BL/6 mice were randomized into negative control (NC) group (n= 10), rCsHscB group (n=10), DSS group (n=15), and DSS+rCsHscB group (n=15), and in the latter two groups, chronic ulcerative colitis was induced in the mice using 2% DSS. In rCsHscB and DSS+ rCsHscB groups, the mice received intraperitoneal injections of 125 μg/mL rCsHscB on the 4th and 7th day following DSS administration, and PBS was injected in the other two groups. The mice were euthanized on the 84th day, and pathological changes of the colon were evaluated by HE and Masson staining. The levels of CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells in the peripheral blood and lamina propria gastric lymphocytes (LPL) were analyzed by flow cytometer; the levels of IL-6, MCP-1 and IL-10 in colon homogenate were determined using ELISA, and the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, JNK and P38 was detected with Western blotting.

OBJECTIVE

Compared with those in NC group, the mice in rCsHscB group exhibited no adverse responses to the treatment. The mice in DSS group had severe pathologies in the colon with significantly increased ratios of CD4⁺ and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ T cells in peripheral blood and LPL, increased levels of IL-6 and MCP-1 but no obvious changes in IL-10 in colon homogenate, and significantly augmented phosphorylation levels of ERK1/2, JNK and P38. Compared with those in DSS group, the mice in DSS+ rCsHscB group showed ameliorated colon pathologies with decreased CD4⁺T/CD8⁺T cell ratio in the peripheral blood and LPL, significantly decreased IL-6 and MCP-1 levels and increased IL-10 in colon homogenate, and lowered phosphorylation levels of ERK1/2, JNK and P38.

OBJECTIVE

rCsHscB can produce therapeutic effect on DSS-induced chronic ulcerative colitis in mice possibly by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory factors and regulating the balance of CD4⁺/CD8⁺T cells through the MAPK pathway.

Facile Fabrication of Functionalized Separators for Lithium-Ion Batteries with Ionic Conduction Path Modifications via the γ-Ray Co-irradiation Grafting Process

Separators play a vital role in electronic insulation and ionic conduction in lithium-ion batteries. The common improvement strategy of polyolefin separators is mostly based on modifications with a coating layer, which is simple and effective to some extent. However, the improvement is often accompanied by negative effects such as the increase of the thickness and the blockage of the porous structure, resulting in the decrease of energy density and power density. The porous structure of the separators serves as a conduction path for ions to travel back and forth between the anode and cathode, which has an important impact on the performance of lithium-ion batteries. If the porous structure of the separators can be modified, it will essentially affect the ionic transport behavior through the whole conduction path. Herein, we provide a simple and effective method to functionalize the porous polyolefin separator via the γ-ray co-irradiation grafting process, where high-energy γ-ray is used to generate active sites on the polymer chain to initiate the grafting polymerization of chosen monomers with selected functional groups. In this work, 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-vinyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane, a kind of borane molecule with an electron-deficient group, was chosen as the grafting monomer. After the γ-ray co-irradiation grafting process, both the surface and pores of the polyolefin separators were functionalized by electron-deficient groups in the borane molecule and the whole electrolyte conduction path within the separator was activated. Due to the electron-deficient effect of the B atom, the lithium-ion conduction is promoted and the lithium-ion transference number can be increased to 0.5. As a result, the half-cell assembled with the functionalized separator shows better cycle stability and better capacity retention under high current rate.

MicroRNA-219 inhibits cell viability and metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma by targeting EYA2

OBJECTIVE

In recent years, the incidence of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has increased. Many microRNAs (miRNAs) have been found to regulate PTC progression. However, the regulatory mechanism of miR-219 remains unclear in PTC. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the function of miR-219 in PTC.

PATIENTS AND METHODS

Quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot analysis were used to detect the expression of miR-219 and eyes absent homologue 2 (EYA2). The function of miR-219 was investigated by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) and transwell assays. The relationship between miR-219 and EYA2 was confirmed by Dual-Luciferase reporter assay.

RESULTS

MiR-219 expression was reduced and was associated with TNM stage and lymph node metastases in PTC patients. Functionally, overexpression of miR-219 restrained the viability and metastasis of PTC cells. In addition, miR-219 induced apoptosis and blocked EMT in PTC cells. Furthermore, miR-219 was confirmed to directly target EYA2 and inhibited its expression in PTC. More importantly, the upregulation of EYA2 impaired the inhibitory effect of miR-219 in PTC.

CONCLUSIONS

MiR-219 inhibits the viability and metastasis of PTC cells by downregulating EYA2.

Functional Localized High-Concentration Ether-Based Electrolyte for Stabilizing High-Voltage Lithium-Metal Battery

Localized high-concentration electrolytes have attracted much attention of researchers due to their low viscosity, low cost, and relatively higher electrochemical performance than their low-concentration counterparts. In our work, 1.5 M (mol L^-1) locally concentrated ether-based electrolyte has been obtained by adding 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropyl ether (HFE) into a 4 M LiFSI concentrated dimethoxyethane (DME)-based electrolyte. The optimal ratio is determined by density functional theory (DFT) calculation and experimental combination, and finally, DH(3/5)-1.5M-LiFSI (DME/HFE = 3:5 by volume) is obtained. The electrolyte not only has relatively good physical properties such as low viscosity and high conductivity but also shows decent electrochemical performance. Li∥Cu half-cells can maintain a coulombic efficiency of no less than 99% after circulating for 250 cycles under the condition of 1 mA cm^-2 current density and 1 mAh cm^-2 lithium deposition for each cycle, and the stable battery polarization voltage was about 50 mV. Furthermore, 0.15 M lithium trifluoromethyl acetate (LiCO₂CF₃) has been added as an additive to enhance the oxidation stability. The new electrolyte DH(3/5)-1.65M-LiFC (LiFC/LiFSI + LiCO₂CF₃) makes Li||NCM523 batteries maintain about 83% capacity after cycling for 250 times with a 0.5 C charge current density and a 1 C discharge current density of 160 mAh g^-1 when charged to 4.3 V. Furthermore, this new additive has a little negative effect on the Li||Cu half-cell performance under the same condition as before, indicating this new type of localized high-concentration DME-based electrolyte benefits both high-voltage cathode and lithium-metal anode.

Positive-Parity Linear-Chain Molecular Band in ^{16}C

An inelastic excitation and cluster-decay experiment ^{2}H(^{16}C,^{4}He+^{12}Be or ^{6}He+^{10}Be)^{2}H was carried out to investigate the linear-chain clustering structure in neutron-rich ^{16}C. For the first time, decay paths from the ^{16}C resonances to various states of the final nuclei were determined, thanks to the well-resolved Q-value spectra obtained from the threefold coincident measurement. The close-threshold resonance at 16.5 MeV is assigned as the J^{π}=0^{+} band head of the predicted positive-parity linear-chain molecular band with (3/2_{π}^{-})^{2}(1/2_{σ}^{-})^{2} configuration, according to the associated angular correlation and decay analysis. Other members of this band were found at 17.3, 19.4, and 21.6 MeV based on their selective decay properties, being consistent with the theoretical predictions. Another intriguing high-lying state was observed at 27.2 MeV which decays almost exclusively to ^{6}He+^{10}Be(∼6  MeV) final channel, corresponding well to another predicted linear-chain structure with the pure σ-bond configuration.

Investigation into the reaction mechanism underlying the atmospheric low-temperature plasma-induced oxidation of cellulose

Atmospheric low-temperature plasma has been widely applied in surface modification of lignocellulose for manufacturing lightweight, strong composites. This study is aimed at elaborating the structural changes of cellulose after plasma treatment and further understanding the mechanism underlying plasma-induced oxidation of cellulose. Experiments suggested that atmospheric low-temperature plasma exhibits strong capacity to cleave covalent bonds, leading to oxidation and degradation of cellulose. Theoretical analysis revealed that cleavage of C₄O covalent bond is the first-step reaction during plasma-induced oxidation due to its low bond dissociation energy (229.2 kJ mol^-1). Subsequent pyranose ring-breaking reaction dominates dynamically and thermodynamically. Obtained outcomes are vital for fundamentally understanding the plasma-lignocellulose interaction. On that basis, plasma treatment for activation and oxidation of lignocellulose can be optimized and designed for improved efficiency. Wettability of lignocellulose can be thus improved in a short time, providing an opportunity to manufacture lignocellulose-based composites with enhanced efficiency and mechanical properties in future.

Atmospheric Low-Temperature Plasma-Induced Changes in the Structure of the Lignin Macromolecule: An Experimental and Theoretical Investigation

Atmospheric low-temperature plasma has emerged as a promising pretreatment for lignocellulose to improve bio-refining. Herein, we investigated plasma-induced changes in the chemical structure of lignin to obtain a fundamental understanding of the plasma-lignocellulose interaction. Based on the results, plasma possesses a strong capacity to cleave C-C covalent bonds in the aliphatic region of lignin, accompanied by oxidation. Plasma treatment leads to the degradation and fragmentation of lignin. Pronounced deconstruction of β-O-4 aryl ether is observed in plasma. The relative content of β-O-4 aryl ether was reduced from the initial value of 65.1/100Ar to 58.7/100Ar for lignin from corncob and from the initial value of 72.5/100Ar to 63.8/100Ar for lignin from poplar after plasma treatment, respectively. According to the density functional theory analysis, the oxygen atom of β-O-4 aryl ether is the most likely potential reaction site and the C_β-O covalent bond exhibits the lowest decomposition free energy (50.5 kcal mol^-1), which will easily be cleaved in plasma. The dominant reaction pathway of lignin degradation is the cleavage of the C_β-O covalent bond followed by the cleavage of the C_β-C_α bond. We propose that this investigation is beneficial to optimize and expand the applications of plasma treatment in pretreatment of lignocellulose.

Characteristics of the salivary microbiota in cheilitis granulomatosa

Background

Cheilitis granulomatosa (CG) is a disturbing and persistent idiopathic lip swelling. The cause and treatment has not been wholly elucidated. Some reports infer that CG is mainly associated with dental infection but no firm or reliable microbiological evidence has been provided for a causative organism. This study aimed to evaluate whether microorganisms contribute to the etiology of CG in order to inform appropriate treatment options in clinic.

Material and Methods

Unstimulated saliva was collected from 15 CG patients who were diagnosed clinically and pathologically and 15 healthy controls (HC). DNA was extracted from the precipitate of the centrifuged saliva for 16s rRNA high-throughput sequencing using the Miseq PE300 platform. The distribution of the microbiome between the two groups was compared.

Results

CG patients had a greater microbial flora that was more diverse than the HC. Prevotella, Alloprevotella, Porphyromonas, Actinomyces, Rothia, Fusobacterium, Haemophilus, and Aggregatibacter had a significantly higher abundance in CG patients. In contrast, Streptococcus and Campylobacter were the most abundant genera in HC with a mean relative abundance of 63% and 2%, respectively. The microbiological network indicated that most of the bacteria that were enriched at greater levels in CG patients were likely to be Prevotella, Actinomyces, and Rothia. These have been shown to co-exist with other bacteria.

Conclusions:

The composition and structure of bacterial communities in CG patients were different from HC. Most of the genera observed in CG patients were associated with periodontitis and pulp infection. These findings might be helpful in understanding the etiology of CG. Further study will be needed to confirm these findings and explore the underlying pathological mechanism.

Proton Shell Evolution below ^{132}Sn: First Measurement of Low-Lying β-Emitting Isomers in ^{123,125}Ag

The β-delayed γ-ray spectroscopy of neutron-rich ^{123,125}Ag isotopes is investigated at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory of RIKEN, and the long-predicted 1/2^{-} β-emitting isomers in ^{123,125}Ag are identified for the first time. With the new experimental results, the systematic trend of energy spacing between the lowest 9/2^{+} and 1/2^{-} levels is extended in Ag isotopes up to N=78, providing a clear signal for the reduction of the Z=40 subshell gap in Ag towards N=82. Shell-model calculations with the state-of-the-art V_{MU} plus M3Y spin-orbit interaction give a satisfactory description of the low-lying states in ^{123,125}Ag. The tensor force is found to play a crucial role in the evolution of the size of the Z=40 subshell gap. The observed inversion of the single-particle levels around ^{123}Ag can be well interpreted in terms of the monopole shift of the π1g_{9/2} orbitals mainly caused by the increasing occupation of ν1h_{11/2} orbitals.

[DNA cytometry of exfoliated cells in the diagnosis of oral potential malignant disorders]

OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of oral mucosa disease, especially oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and oral potential malignant disorders (OPMDs) by DNA cytometry compared with histopathological diagnosis, so as to find a convenient, simple and low-invasive method for screening and follow-up.

METHODS

203 subjects with OSCC, OPMDs and other oral mucosa disease without dysplasia according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria were recruited from Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. The mean age was (52.44±13.55) years, 98 males and 105 females. Brush biopsy was taken before scalpel biopsy at the same site. The brush biopsy sample was screened by moticytometer system for DNA cytometry after Feulgen stain, and histopathological examination were taken for the scalpel tissue. Data from DNA cytometry were used to calculate the parameters, such as sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, odds ratios, Youden index (YI), positive and negative likelihood ratios, compared with the golden standard, histopathological diagnosis. DNA cytometry and histopathological diagnosis were performed back to back.

RESULTS

Totally, 42 OSCC and 4 tumor in situ (TIS), 39 oral leukoplakia (OLK) with dysplasia (17 mild dysplasia, 13 medium dysplasia and 9 severe dysplasia), 29 OLK with hyperplasia, 1 verrucous OLK, 83 oral lichen planus (OLP) and 5 inflammation were included in our research. We grouped the OSCC, TIS and dysplasia as the positive group and others without dysplasia as the negative group, the sensitivity of DNA cytometry was 79.07%, the specificity was 81.20%, and the diagnostic accuracy was 80.30%,We grouped the OSCC and TIS as the tumor group, OLP, OLK with hyperplasia and inflammation as the non-tumor group, The sensitivity of DNA cytometry in diagnosing OSCC and TIS was 95.65%, and the specificity was 81.2%, The diagnostic accuracy was 85.28%. positive predictive values 66.67%, negative predictive values 97.94%, ratio odds 95, positive likelihood ratio 5.09, negative likelihood ratio 0.05, and Youden index 0.77. For the dysplasia, we grouped the different dysplasia together as the dyaplasia group, OLP, OLK with hyperplasia and inflammation as the non-tumor group, the sensitivity of DNA cytometry in diagnosing dyaplasia is 60%, the specificity is 81.2%. The diagnostic accuracy is 75.8%, positive predictive values 52.17%, negative predictive values 85.59%, ratio odds 6.48, positive likelihood ratio 3.19, negative likelihood ratio 0.49, and Youden index 0.41.

CONCLUSION

DNA cytometry is convenient and low-invasive, which can be used as an adjuvant method for screening the early OSCC and OPMDs, monitoring the prognosis of OSCC after surgery. Further large-scale and long period prospective studies are necessary to validate the better value of DNA cytometry.

Abstract OT3-06-02: A phase Ib trial of xentuzumab and abemaciclib in patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer (plus endocrine therapy)

Background: Resistance to endocrine therapy remains an important clinical problem in hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer (BC), necessitating alternative treatment options. The insulin-like growth factor (IGF) axis and cyclin D-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6-retinoblastoma pathway have been implicated in the pathogenesis and resistance mechanisms of a variety of cancers, including BC. Binding of IGF-I and -II to the IGF receptor results in upregulation of cyclin D1, and subsequent progression through the cell cycle, thus providing rationale for the simultaneous inhibition of IGF-I and -II and CDK4/6. This Phase Ib trial assesses the maximum-tolerated dose (MTD)/recommended phase II dose (RP2D), safety and preliminary efficacy of the IGF-ligand-neutralizing antibody, xentuzumab, in combination with abemaciclib, a selective, small-molecule inhibitor of both CDK4 and 6, in patients (pts) with solid tumors. The trial includes four dose finding cohorts followed by two expansion cohorts. Only those cohorts that will include pts with postmenopausal HR+, HER2- BC will be presented here.

Trial design: In this phase Ib multicenter, non-randomized, open-label, dose escalation trial (BI 1280.18 [NCT03099174]), the key aims in the BC cohorts (Cohorts B–D, F) are to define the MTD or recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D), and to evaluate the preliminary efficacy, safety and tolerability of xentuzumab plus abemaciclib in combination with endocrine therapies. Eligible pts include adults ≥18 yrs (≥20 for Japan), with measurable or evaluable disease, adequate organ function, ECOG PS ≤1, and postmenopausal locally advanced or metastatic HR+, HER2- BC (Cohorts B–D, F). CDK4/6 inhibitor-naïve pts (Cohorts B–D) and pts who have received prior CDK4/6 inhibitors (palbociclib or ribociclib) plus aromatase inhibitors (Cohort F) are included. The MTD/RP2D of xentuzumab plus abemaciclib to be used in Cohorts B–D will be established in pts with solid tumors (Cohort A) who will receive xentuzumab (starting dose 1000mg weekly iv) plus abemaciclib (starting dose 150mg every 12 hours). CDK4/6 inhibitor-naïve pts with BC will receive xentuzumab plus abemaciclib at the RP2D determined in Cohort A in combination with letrozole (2.5mg/day; Cohort B), anastrozole (1mg/day; Cohort C), or fulvestrant (500mg/month; Cohort D). CDK4/6 inhibitor pre-treated pts with BC (Cohort F) will receive xentuzumab plus abemaciclib and fulvestrant at the RP2D determined in Cohort D. Primary endpoints in the BC cohorts are the MTD and/or RP2D of xentuzumab plus abemaciclib in combination with endocrine therapies, and the objective response (OR) in CDK4/6 inhibitor pre-treated pts with advanced BC (Cohort F); disease control (DC), duration of DC, time to OR, duration of OR, and progression-free survival (PFS) in Cohort F are secondary endpoints. Additionally, PK outcomes, safety and tolerability will be assessed in all cohorts. This study will be conducted in the US, Europe and Japan. Pt screening started in May 2017. Target enrolment is ˜88 pts, including ˜56 pts with advanced HR+, HER2- BC, of whom ˜20 had previously been treated with CDK 4/6 inhibitors.

Unsymmetrical β-diketiminate magnesium(i) complexes: syntheses and application in catalytic hydroboration of alkyne, nitrile and carbonyl compounds

[Analysis of type C behavior in patients with oral lichen planus]

OBJECTIVE

To assess type C behavior in patients with oral lichen planus (OLP) in order to provide basis for clinical prevention, treatment and psychological intervention of OLP.

METHODS

Type C behavior scale was used on 85 OLP patients and 85 control patients, who were in accordance with the inclusion criteria, in order to investigate their type C behavior. The scale included 9 items: anxiety, depression, anger, anger toward inside (anger-in), anger toward outside (anger-out), reasoning, domination, optimism, and social support. Scores of the 9 items between OLP patients and control group were calculated under the instruction of the scale and were statistically analyzed, and OLP group was further stratified statistically by sex, reticulate-erosive-ulcerative (REU) pathological type and course of diseases, and the scores of each group were analyzed and compared.

RESULTS

Among the 85 OLP patients, there were more females, more non-erosive lesion type, and the most common site for OLP was the buccal mucosa. The scores of the type-C behavior questionnaire for anxiety, depression, anger and optimism were respectively 43.01±7.47, 44.02±7.61, 21.56±5.26, 22.15±4.00 among the OLP patients and were 37.94±8.70, 39.58±7.35, 18.12±5.39, 24.05±3.23 among control group, with significant differences(P<0.05 for all) between the two groups. The female OLP patients had higher anxiety, depression, anger scores (43.21±6.97, 44.29±7.54, 21.64±5.09) and lower reasoning, domination, optimism scores (39.12±5.66, 16.29±3.95, 22.05±4.12) with significant differences (P<0.05 for all) compared with those of the female controls. The scores between male patients and male controls showed no significant difference. The patients with erosive lesions had higher anger score (22.94±5.26) than that of the patients without erosive lesions(20.60±5.03), with a significant difference(P<0.05). With the development of the disease, the tendency of anxiety and depression of the patients were more obvious, while optimism scores remained declining. The patients suffering more than 3 years of OLP had higher anger-toward-outside scores (17.36±3.35) than the patients suffering less than 3 years of OLP (15.19±3.99), with a significant difference (P<0.05).

CONCLUSION

OLP patients showed an obvious type C behavior characteristic, especially in anxiety, depression, anger and low optimism. This research provides the C behavior characteristic of OLP for further psychological consultation or intervention during OLP treatment.

[Accuracy of three methods for the rapid diagnosis of oral candidiasis]

Objective: To explore a simple, rapid and efficient method for the diagnosis of oral candidiasis in clinical practice. Methods: Totally 124 consecutive patients with suspected oral candidiasis were enrolled from Department of Oral Medicine, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology, Beijing, China. Exfoliated cells of oral mucosa and saliva or concentrated oral rinse) obtained from all participants were tested by three rapid smear methods(10% KOH smear, gram-stained smear, Congo red stained smear). The diagnostic efficacy(sensitivity, specificity, Youden's index, likelihood ratio, consistency, predictive value and area under curve(AUC) of each of the above mentioned three methods was assessed by comparing the results with the gold standard(combination of clinical diagnosis, laboratory diagnosis and expert opinion). Results: Gram-stained smear of saliva(or concentrated oral rinse) demonstrated highest sensitivity(82.3%). Test of 10%KOH smear of exfoliated cells showed highest specificity(93.5%). Congo red stained smear of saliva(or concentrated oral rinse) displayed highest diagnostic efficacy(79.0% sensitivity, 80.6% specificity, 0.60 Youden's index, 4.08 positive likelihood ratio, 0.26 negative likelihood ratio, 80% consistency, 80.3% positive predictive value, 79.4% negative predictive value and 0.80 AUC). Conclusions: Test of Congo red stained smear of saliva(or concentrated oral rinse) could be used as a point-of-care tool for the rapid diagnosis of oral candidiasis in clinical practice. [Expression and significance of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase in oral lichen planus and oral squamous cell cacinoma]

OBJECTIVE

To assess the differences among the expressions of p38 mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK), phospho-p38MAPK and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) in oral lichen planus (OLP) and oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).

METHODS

In the study, 53 cases of OLP, 45 of OSCC, and 18 controls were obtained and 4-μm-thick histological sections were prepared from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks.The expressions of p38MAPK,phospho-p38MAPK and NF-κB were detected by immunohistochemistry staining. Furthermore, the expressions of p38MAPK and phospho-p38MAPK were detected using Western blotting analyses in the fresh tissues from 11 cases of OLP, 5 cases of OSCC, and 7 cases of the controls.

RESULTS

p38MAPK was over-expressed in the lamina propria, but lowly expressed in the epithelium in OLP group. Phospho-p38MAPK was lower expressed in OLP group than in OSCC and control groups.NF-κB was found over-expressed in the lamina propria in OLP group.p38MAPK was found expressed in all the samples in the 3 groups. The expression of phospho-p38MAPK was observed in 8 (8/11) OLP samples, 5 (5/5) OSCC samples and 4 (4/7) controls by Western blotting, but no significant differences were found within the 3 groups.

CONCLUSION

p38MAPK can be detected in normal oral mucosa, OLP and OSCC. Phospho-p38MAPK may be related to the onset and progression of OSCC. The role of p38MAPK in OLP is yet to be revealed.

Evidence for Octupole Correlations in Multiple Chiral Doublet Bands

Two pairs of positive-and negative-parity doublet bands together with eight strong electric dipole transitions linking their yrast positive- and negative-parity bands have been identified in ^{78}Br. They are interpreted as multiple chiral doublet bands with octupole correlations, which is supported by the microscopic multidimensionally-constrained covariant density functional theory and triaxial particle rotor model calculations. This observation reports the first example of chiral geometry in octupole soft nuclei.

Interleukin-17 Impairs Salivary Tight Junction Integrity in Sjögren's Syndrome

Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes secretory dysfunction of the salivary glands. It has been reported that proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-17 (IL-17) was elevated and tight junction (TJ) integrity disrupted in minor salivary glands from SS patients. However, whether the elevated IL-17 in SS affects TJ integrity and thereby alters the function of salivary gland is unknown. Here, by using nonobese diabetic (NOD) mice as SS model, we found that the stimulated salivary flow rate was significantly decreased in NOD mice. Lymphocyte infiltration was mainly observed in submandibular glands (SMGs), but not parotid glands (PGs), of NOD mice. IL-17 was significantly increased and mainly located in lymphocytic-infiltrating regions in SMGs but not detectable in PGs of NOD mice. Meanwhile, the epithelial barrier function was disrupted, as evidenced by an increased paracellular tracer clearance and an enlarged acinar TJ width in SMGs of NOD mice. Furthermore, claudin-1 and -3 were elevated especially at the basolateral membranes, whereas claudin-4, occludin, and zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) were reduced in SMGs of NOD mice. Moreover, occludin and ZO-1 were dispersed into cytoplasm in SMGs of NOD mice. However, no change in the expression and distribution of TJ proteins was found in PGs. In vitro, IL-17 significantly decreased the levels and apical staining of claudin-4 and ZO-1 proteins in the cultured SMG tissues, as well as claudin-1, occludin, and ZO-1 in PG tissues. Moreover, IL-17 activated the phosphorylation of IκBα and p65 in SMG cells, whereas pretreatment with NF-κB inhibitor pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate suppressed the IL-17-induced downregulation of claudin-4 and ZO-1 in SMG tissues. Taken together, these findings indicate that IL-17 derived from infiltrating lymphocyte impairs the integrity of TJ barrier through NF-κB signaling pathway, and thus might contribute to salivary gland dysfunction in SS.

Efficacy and safety of miconazole for oral candidiasis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of miconazole for treating oral candidiasis. Twelve electronic databases were searched for randomized controlled trials evaluating treatments for oral candidiasis and complemented by hand searching. The clinical and mycological outcomes, as well as adverse effects, were set as the primary outcome criteria. Seventeen trials were included in this review. Most studies were considered to have a high or moderate level of bias. Miconazole was more effective than nystatin for thrush. For HIV-infected patients, there was no significant difference in the efficacy between miconazole and other antifungals. For denture wearers, microwave therapy was significantly better than miconazole. No significant difference was found in the safety evaluation between miconazole and other treatments. The relapse rate of miconazole oral gel may be lower than that of other formulations. This systematic review and meta-analysis indicated that miconazole may be an optional choice for thrush. Microwave therapy could be an effective adjunct treatment for denture stomatitis. Miconazole oral gel may be more effective than other formulations with regard to long-term results. However, future studies that are adequately powered, large-scale, and well-designed are needed to provide higher-quality evidence for the management of oral candidiasis.

Decreased levels of circulating sex hormones as a biomarker of lung cancer in male patients with solitary pulmonary nodules

BACKGROUND

An early differentiation of malignant from benign solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) is essential for management and prognosis of lung cancer.

OBJECTIVES

Here we investigated whether measurement of circulating sex hormones could be useful for an early detection of malignancy among patients with SPNs.

METHODS

We recruited 47 patients with malignant SPNs 45 patients with benign SPNs, and 32 healthy persons. Testosterone, estradiol, and progesterone were measured. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as well as TNF-α, IL-1 and IL-6 were also measured.

RESULTS

We found that sex hormones were decreased significantly in patients with malignant SPNs, as compared to patients with benign SPNs and healthy controls (P<0.05). Sex hormones levels showed a trend to decline in patients with benign SPNs as compared to normal controls, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). CEA levels were only abnormally elevated in eight patients with lung adenocarcinoma. The inflammatory cytokines were remarkably higher in both patients than in normal controls. However, there was no statistical difference in these cytokines among patients.

CONCLUSIONS

The reduced sex hormones levels seemed to be uniquely associated with lung cancer. Therefore, measurement of sex hormones may have clinical potential in the diagnosis of malignancy in patients with SPNs.

Observation of enhanced monopole strength and clustering in (12)Be

In a recent breakup-reaction experiment using a Be12 beam at 29  MeV/nucleon, the 0+ band head of the expected He4+He8 molecular rotation was clearly identified at about 10.3 MeV, from which a large monopole matrix element of 7.0±1.0  fm2 and a large cluster-decay width were determined for the first time. These findings support the picture of strong clustering in Be12, which has been a subject of intense investigations over the past decade. The results were obtained thanks to a specially arranged detection system around zero degrees, which is essential in determining the newly emphasized monopole strengths to signal the cluster formation in a nucleus.

In vitro antifungal effect and inhibitory activity on biofilm formation of seven commercial mouthwashes

OBJECTIVE

To investigate the antifungal ability of seven over-the-counter mouthwashes against planktonic and sessile Candida albicans and Candida krusei.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

The seven mouthwashes studied were Listerine, compound chlorhexidine solution, povidone iodine solution (PV-I), cetylpyridinium chloride solution, Colgate Plax, Crest Prohealth Mouthwash, and NaHCO3 . The antifungal ability of each mouthwash against ATCC90028, ATCC6258, and 10 clinical C. albicans isolates was tested using disk diffusion tests, the broth microdilution method, and biofilm testing with two different XTT-reduction assays. Fluconazole was used as a positive control, and the experiments were performed in triplicate.

RESULTS

Chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride had the largest inhibition zones for ATCC90028 and ATCC6258 (18.6 ± 3.5 and 19 ± 1.6 mm, respectively). Cetylpyridinium chloride was the most effective at inhibiting all of the planktonic C. albicans strains and ATCC6258 with the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). As the maturity of the biofilms increased, the change in sessile cell MIC of the mouthwashes was much smaller than that of fluconazole. For the mature biofilms, chlorhexidine, PV-I, and cetylpyridinium chloride produced the greatest reductions in metabolism (60-80%).

CONCLUSION

Most of these seven mouthwashes had significant antifungal activity for both planktonic and sessile Candida species.

Inhibition of eIF2α dephosphorylation enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis in hepatoma cells

Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is an inducer of cancer cell death that holds promise in cancer therapy. Cancer cells are more susceptible than normal cells to the cell-death-inducing effects of TRAIL. However, a variety of cancer cells are resistant to TRAIL through complex mechanisms. Here, we investigate the effects of inhibition of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 subunit α (eIF2α) dephosphorylation on TRAIL-induced apoptosis in hepatoma cells. Treatment of hepatoma cells with salubrinal, an inhibitor of eIF2α dephosphorylation, enhances TRAIL-induced eIF2α phosphorylation, CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein homologous protein (CHOP) expression and caspase activation. Salubrinal enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis, which could be abrogated by caspase inhibitor. Overexpression of phosphomimetic eIF2α (S51D) enhances TRAIL-induced CHOP expression, caspase 7 and PARP cleavage and apoptosis. By contrast, overexpression of phosphodeficient eIF2α (S51A) abrogates the stimulation of TRAIL-induced apoptosis by salubrinal. Moreover, knockdown of growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible protein 34 (GADD34), which recruits protein phosphatase 1 to dephosphorylate eIF2α, enhances TRAIL-induced eIF2α phosphorylation, CHOP expression, caspase activation and apoptosis. Furthermore, the sensitization of hepatoma cells to TRAIL by salubrinal is dependent on CHOP. Knockdown of CHOP abrogates the stimulation of TRAIL-induced caspase activation and apoptosis by salubrinal. Combination of salubrinal and TRAIL leads to increased expression of Bim, a CHOP-regulated proapoptotic protein. Bim knockdown blunts the stimulatory effect of salubrinal on TRAIL-induced apoptosis. Collectively, these findings suggest that inhibition of eIF2α dephosphorylation may lead to synthetic lethality in TRAIL-treated hepatoma cells.

Decreased submandibular adiponectin is involved in the progression of autoimmune sialoadenitis in non-obese diabetic mice

OBJECTIVE

To investigate a possible role of adiponectin in the pathogenesis of autoimmune sialoadenitis in non-obese diabetic (NOD) mouse model of Sjögren's syndrome.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Expression of adiponectin and its receptors (AdipoR1/2) was detected by PCR, immunoblotting, or immunofluorescence. The level of adiponectin was quantified by ELISA. Adiponectin-related signaling molecules and pro-inflammatory cytokines were examined by PCR or immunoblotting. Apoptosis was evaluated by TUNEL staining, flow cytometry, and caspase 3 activation.

RESULTS

Adiponectin and AdipoR1/2 mRNA and protein were expressed in submandibular glands. Adiponectin immunostaining was widely diffused in the cytoplasm of acinar and ductal cells. AdipoR1 was mainly distributed in acinar cytoplasm, while AdipoR2 was predominantly located at acinar cell membrane. Submandibular adiponectin levels were reduced during the progression of autoimmune sialoadenitis in 7-, 14-, and 21-week-old NOD mice, while AdipoR1/2 levels were unchanged. The levels of phosphorylated adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2, and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase were decreased, while interferon (IFN)-γ and glandular apoptosis were temporally increased at all time points. Moreover, exogenous adiponectin supplement inhibited, whereas neutralizing endogenous adiponectin by its antibody promoted IFN-γ-induced apoptosis and caspase 3 activation in cultured submandibular acinar cells.

CONCLUSIONS

Adiponectin plays a protective role on submandibular cells. Decreased adiponectin might promote glandular destruction in autoimmune sialoadenitis.
