Abstract
This Letter presents the first study of Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson (V=W or Z) in the fully hadronic qqbb final state using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb^{-1}. The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques. Dedicated tagging algorithms exploiting b-tagging properties are used to identify jets consistent with Higgs bosons decaying into bb[over ¯]. Dominant backgrounds from multijet production are determined directly from the data, and a likelihood fit to the jet mass distribution of Higgs boson candidates is used to extract the number of signal events. The VH production cross section is measured inclusively and differentially in several ranges of Higgs boson transverse momentum: 250-450, 450-650, and greater than 650 GeV. The inclusive signal yield relative to the standard model expectation is observed to be μ=1.4_{-0.9}^{+1.0} and the corresponding cross section is 3.1±1.3(stat)_{-1.4}^{+1.8}(syst) pb.

Abstract
ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165 nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the feasibility of super-selectively endobronchial brachytherapy in the treatment of peripheral lung cancer guided by advanced navigation technology. METHODS AND MATERIALS Six patients with peripheral lung tumors successfully underwent treatment with super-selectively endobronchial brachytherapy guided by advanced navigation technology following pathway planning and were subsequently followed up to assess survival and treatment-related toxicities. RESULTS The endobronchial applicators were successfully placed inside the tumors of all patients using advanced navigation techniques according to the pretreatment plan, and brachytherapy was delivered at curative doses after evaluation using radiotherapy planning software. None of the patients showed local progression of the treated lesions during the follow-up for a duration ranging from 11 months to 35 months, with a median follow-up time of 23 months. The patient with the longest follow-up, nearly 3 years, exhibited a stable condition. After undergoing endobronchial brachytherapy, patients predominantly experienced localized fibrosis as indicated. No significant alterations in cardiopulmonary function were detected during the follow-up, and no other adverse effects were found. CONCLUSIONS The use of endobronchial brachytherapy for the curative treatment of peripheral lung cancers is feasible. Furthermore, the development of novel bronchial navigation techniques has the potential to broaden the application of endobronchial brachytherapy.

Abstract
A wide variety of cell surface receptors found on immune cells are essential to the body's immunological defense mechanisms. Cell surface receptors enable immune cells to sense extracellular stimuli and identify pathogens, transmitting activating or inhibitory signals that regulate the immune cell state and coordinate immunological responses. These receptors can dynamically aggregate or disperse due to the fluidity of the cell membrane, particularly during interactions between cells or between cells and pathogens. At the contact surface, cell surface receptors form microclusters, facilitating the recruitment and amplification of downstream signals. The strength of the immune signal is influenced by both the quantity and the specific types of participating receptors. Generally, receptor cross-linking, meaning multivalent ligation of receptors on one cell, leads to greater interface connectivity and more robust signaling. However, intercellular interactions are often spatially restricted by other cellular structures. Therefore, it is essential to comprehend these receptors' features for developing effective immunoengineering approaches. Biomaterials can stimulate and simulate interactions between immune cells and their targets. Biomaterials can activate immune cells to act against pathogenic organisms or cancer cells, thereby offering a valuable immunoengineering toolset for vaccination and immunotherapy. In this review, we systematically summarize biomaterial-based immunoengineering strategies that consider the biology of diverse immune cell surface receptors and the structural attributes of pathogens. By combining this knowledge, we aim to advance the development of rational and effective approaches for immune modulation and therapeutic interventions.

Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
Flexible sensors, as a significant component of flexible electronics, have attracted great interest the realms of human-computer interaction and health monitoring due to their high conformability, adjustable sensitivity, and excellent durability. In comparison to wearable sensor-based in vitro health monitoring, the use of implantable flexible sensors (IFSs) for in vivo health monitoring offers more accurate and reliable vital sign information due to their ability to adapt and directly integrate with human tissue. IFSs show tremendous promise in the field of health monitoring, with unique advantages such as robust signal reading capabilities, lightweight design, flexibility, and biocompatibility. Herein, a review of IFSs for vital signs monitoring is detailly provided, highlighting the essential conditions for in vivo applications. As the prerequisites of IFSs, the stretchability and wireless self-powered properties of the sensor are discussed, with a special attention paid to the sensing materials which can maintain prominent biosafety (i.e., biocompatibility, biodegradability, bioresorbability). Furthermore, the applications of IFSs monitoring various parts of the body are described in detail, with a summary in brain monitoring, eye monitoring, and blood monitoring. Finally, the challenges as well as opportunities in the development of next-generation IFSs are presented.

Abstract
A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ^{*}→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.

Abstract
PURPOSE Open tension-free inguinal hernioplasty is one of the common surgical methods used today to treat inguinal hernias due to its simplicity and low recurrence rate. With the widespread use of tension-free inguinal hernia repair, the number of patients with mesh infections is gradually increasing. However, there is a lack of studies assessing the quality of life of patients after the removal of late-onset infected meshes in open inguinal hernias. The aim of this study was to analyse and assess the quality of life, pain severity and anxiety of patients after late-onset infection mesh removal following open inguinal hernioplasty. METHODS Data from 105 patients admitted to our hospital from January 2014 to January 2019 who developed delayed mesh infection after open tension-free inguinal hernia repair were retrospectively analysed. 507 patients without mesh infection after open inguinal hernioplasty were included as cross-sectional controls. The baseline data of the two groups were matched for propensity score matching (PSM) with a caliper value of 0.05 and a matching ratio of 1:1. Patients are followed up by telephone or outpatient consultations for 3 years to assess quality of life, pain and anxiety after removal of the infected mesh. RESULTS The 105 patients who developed late-onset mesh infection after inguinal hernia repair had a mean age of 64.07 ± 12.90 years and a mean body mass index (BMI) of 24.64 ± 2.67 (kg/m2). The mean follow-up time was 58 months and 10.5% (10/105) of the patients were lost to follow-up. At the 3-year follow-up there was one case of hernia recurrence and five cases of mesh reinfection. The patients' quality of life scores, pain scores and anxiety scores improved after surgery compared to the preoperative scores (all p < 0.01). CONCLUSION Patients with late-onset mesh infection after inguinal hernioplasty showed an improvement in quality of life, pain and anxiety compared to preoperative after removal of the infected mesh. Mesh-plug have a higher risk of mesh infection due to their poor histocompatibility and tendency to crumple and shift.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of single top quarks produced together with a photon, which directly probes the electroweak coupling of the top quark. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Requiring a photon with transverse momentum larger than 20 GeV and within the detector acceptance, the fiducial cross section is measured to be 688±23(stat) _{-71}^{+75}(syst) fb, to be compared with the standard model prediction of 515_{-42}^{+36} fb at next-to-leading order in QCD.

This letter presents a measurement of the nuclear modification factor of large-radius jets in sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV Pb+Pb collisions by the ATLAS experiment. The measurement is performed using 1.72 nb^{-1} and 257 pb^{-1} of Pb+Pb and pp data, respectively. Abstract
A key open question in the study of multiparticle production in high-energy pp collisions is the relationship between the "ridge"-i.e., the observed azimuthal correlations between particles in the underlying event that extend over all rapidities-and hard or semihard scattering processes. In particular, it is not known whether jets or their soft fragments are correlated with particles in the underlying event. To address this question, two-particle correlations are measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 15.8 pb^{-1}, in two different configurations. In the first case, charged particles associated with jets are excluded from the correlation analysis, while in the second case, correlations are measured between particles within jets and charged particles from the underlying event. Second-order flow coefficients, v_{2}, are presented as a function of event multiplicity and transverse momentum. These measurements show that excluding particles associated with jets does not affect the measured correlations. Moreover, particles associated with jets do not exhibit any significant azimuthal correlations with the underlying event, ruling out hard processes contributing to the ridge.

Abstract
A search is made for potential ccc[over ¯]c[over ¯] tetraquarks decaying into a pair of charmonium states in the four muon final state using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Two decay channels, J/ψ+J/ψ→4μ and J/ψ+ψ(2S)→4μ, are studied. Backgrounds are estimated based on a hybrid approach involving Monte Carlo simulations and data-driven methods. Statistically significant excesses with respect to backgrounds dominated by the single parton scattering are seen in the di-J/ψ channel consistent with a narrow resonance at 6.9 GeV and a broader structure at lower mass. A statistically significant excess is also seen in the J/ψ+ψ(2S) channel. The fitted masses and decay widths of the structures are reported.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
Electrostatic interactions contribute critically to the kinetic pathways and thermodynamic outcomes of peptide self-assembly involving one or more than one charged amino acids. While it is well understood in protein folding that those amino acids with acidic/basic side chains could shift their pKas when placed in a hydrophobic microenvironment, to what extent aggregation of monomeric peptide units from the bulk solution could alter their charged status and how this change in pKa values would reciprocally impact their assembly outcomes. Here, we design and analyze two solution systems containing peptide amphiphiles with hydrocarbon chains of different lengths to determine the factor of deprotonation on assembly. Our results suggest that models of supramolecular nanofibers with uniformly distributed, fully charged amino acids are oversimplified. We demonstrate, with molecular dynamics simulations, and validate with experimental results that asymmetric, different protonation states of the peptides lead to distinct nanostructures after self-assembly. The results give estimates on the electrostatic interactions in peptide amphiphiles required for their self-assembly and shed light on modeling molecular assembly systems containing charged amino acids.

Abstract
Jet quenching is the process of color-charged partons losing energy via interactions with quark-gluon plasma droplets created in heavy-ion collisions. The collective expansion of such droplets is well described by viscous hydrodynamics. Similar evidence of collectivity is consistently observed in smaller collision systems, including pp and p+Pb collisions. In contrast, while jet quenching is observed in Pb+Pb collisions, no evidence has been found in these small systems to date, raising fundamental questions about the nature of the system created in these collisions. The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has measured the yield of charged hadrons correlated with reconstructed jets in 0.36 nb^{-1} of p+Pb and 3.6 pb^{-1} of pp collisions at 5.02 TeV. The yields of charged hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>0.5 GeV near and opposite in azimuth to jets with p_{T}^{jet}>30 or 60 GeV, and the ratios of these yields between p+Pb and pp collisions, I_{pPb}, are reported. The collision centrality of p+Pb events is categorized by the energy deposited by forward neutrons from the struck nucleus. The I_{pPb} values are consistent with unity within a few percent for hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>4 GeV at all centralities. These data provide new, strong constraints that preclude almost any parton energy loss in central p+Pb collisions.

Abstract
A search for a long-lived, heavy neutral lepton (N) in 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is reported. The N is produced via W→Nμ or W→Ne and decays into two charged leptons and a neutrino, forming a displaced vertex. The N mass is used to discriminate between signal and background. No signal is observed, and limits are set on the squared mixing parameters of the N with the left-handed neutrino states for the N mass range 3 GeV

Abstract
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data. Constraints are set on the parameters describing the strength of the CP-odd component in the coupling between the Higgs boson and the electroweak gauge bosons in two effective field theory bases: d[over ˜] in the HISZ basis and c_{HW[over ˜]} in the Warsaw basis. The results presented are the most stringent constraints on CP violation in the coupling between Higgs and weak bosons. The 95% C.L. constraint on d[over ˜] is derived for the first time and the 95% C.L. constraint on c_{HW[over ˜]} has been improved by a factor of 5 compared to the previous measurement.

Abstract
Objective: This study aims to analyze the incidence, disease burden, and trend of intraocular foreign bodies in China from 1990 to 2019, and to analyze the trend of changes in age, period, and cohort of Chinese men. Methods: The data related to the incidence rate and disease burden of intraocular foreign bodies in China from 1990 to 2019 were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Database (GBD database) on the website of the Institute for Health Indicators and Evaluation (IHME) of the University of Washington, United States, and the annual percentage rate change (AAPC) of intraocular foreign bodies in China was calculated using the Joinpoint software to describe the long-term trend of their incidence rate and disease burden over time. Using Stata17 software, an age period cohort model was constructed to analyze the age, period, and cohort factors affecting intraocular foreign bodies in men. Results: In 2019, the incidence rate of intraocular foreign bodies in China was 791.20/100 000, and the DALY rate was 10.32/100 000, with an average annual decline rate of 1.70% and 1.48% respectively. In 2019, the number of cases of intraocular foreign bodies in China was 11.253 6 million, and the DALY was 1 812.29 million person years. Among them, the incidence and disease burden of intraocular foreign bodies in men were more severe than those in women, and the incidence and disease burden risk of intraocular foreign bodies in men aged 30-35 and 45-50 were the highest. The incidence and disease burden risk of intraocular foreign bodies in elderly men gradually increased. Conclusions: As a common ophthalmic disease, the incidence of intraocular foreign bodies and the DALY rate are declining, but the disease burden is increasing. With the aging of the population, the incidence of intraocular foreign bodies in the elderly will further increase in the future, which should be considered by policy makers. The findings of this study can help governments and healthcare planners formulate practical and targeted policy responses.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We primarily aimed to investigate whether there are phenotypic and genetic links underlying body mass index (BMI) and overall osteoarthritis (OA). We then intended to explore whether the relationships differ across sexes and sites. METHOD We first evaluated the phenotypic association between BMI and overall OA using data from the UK Biobank. We then investigated the genetic relationship leveraging summary statistics of the hitherto largest genome-wide association studies performed for BMI and overall OA. Finally, we repeated all analyses in a sex- (female, male) and site- (knee, hip, spine) specific manner. RESULTS Observational analysis suggested an increased hazard of diagnosed OA per 5 kg/m2 increment in BMI (hazard ratio = 1.38, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.37-1.39). A positive overall genetic correlation was observed for BMI and OA (rg = 0.43, P = 4.72 × 10-133), corroborated by 11 significant local signals. Cross-trait meta-analysis identified 34 pleiotropic loci shared between BMI and OA, of which seven were novel. Transcriptome-wide association study revealed 29 shared gene-tissue pairs, targeting nervous, digestive, and exo/endocrine systems. Mendelian randomization demonstrated a robust BMI-OA causal relationship (odds ratio = 1.47, 95% CI = 1.42-1.52). A similar pattern of effects was observed in sex- and site-specific analyses, with BMI affecting OA comparably in both sexes and most strongly in the knee. CONCLUSION Our work demonstrates an intrinsic relationship underlying BMI and overall OA, reflected by a pronounced phenotypic association, significant biological pleiotropy, and a putative causal link. Stratified analysis further reveals that the effects are distinct across sites and comparable across sexes.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate whether the metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR) is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). METHODS A total of 6489 participants aged 35-70 years without a history of CVD were included in this prospective cohort study. The median follow-up time was 10.6 years. The METS-IR was calculated as ln [2 × FPG (mg/dL) + fasting TG (mg/dL)] × BMI (kg/m2)/ln [HDL-C (mg/dL)]. The primary outcome was CVD, defined as the composite of coronary heart disease (CHD) and stroke. RESULTS During follow-up, 396 individuals developed CVD. Kaplan-Meier survival curves by quintiles of METS-IR showed statistically significant differences (log-rank test, P < 0.001). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the hazard ratio [95% confidence interval (95% CI)] of CVD was 1.80 (1.24-2.61) in quintile 5 and 1.17 (1.05-1.31) for per standard deviation (SD) increase in METS-IR. In subgroup analysis, the significant association between METS-IR and CVD was mainly observed among females and subjects without diabetes mellitus. A significant interaction was found between gender and METS-IR (P-interaction = 0.001). Moreover, adding METS-IR to models with traditional risk factors yielded a significant improvement in discrimination and reclassification of incident CVD. CONCLUSION The elevated METS-IR was independently associated with incident CVD, suggesting that the METS-IR might be a valuable indicator for risk stratification and early intervention of CVD.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate and analyze the occurrence and the related risk factors of gastrointestinal polypectomy accompanied by bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods: 127 cases of gastrointestinal polyps with cirrhosis who had endoscopy at the Endoscopic Center of Tianjin Third Central Hospital between November 2017 and November 2020 were collected. At the same time, 127 cases of gastrointestinal polyps with non-cirrhosis that were treated by endoscopy were collected for comparison. The occurrence of hemorrhagic complications between the two groups was compared. The effects of age, sex, liver function, peripheral blood leukocytes, hemoglobin, platelets, blood glucose, the international normalized ratio (INR), polyp resection method, polyp location, size, number, endoscopic morphology, pathology, the presence or absence of diabetes, portal vein thrombosis, and esophageal varices on polypectomy bleeding in the cirrhosis group were analyzed. The measurement data between groups were compared using the t-test and rank sum test. The χ (2) test or Fisher's exact probability method, and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used for the comparison of categorical data between groups. Results: The number of polypectomy bleeding cases in the cirrhotic group was 21, with a bleeding rate of 16.5%. The number of bleeding cases in the non-cirrhotic group was 3, with a bleeding rate of 2.4%. The bleeding rate was higher in the cirrhosis group when polypectomy was performed (χ (2) = 14.909, P < 0.001). A univariate analysis of the risk factors for gastrointestinal polypectomy associated with bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis showed that liver function grading, platelets, INR, hemoglobin, degree of esophageal and gastric varices, and the location, shape, size, and pathology of the polyps had a statistically significant impact on bleeding (P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that liver function grade, degree of varicose veins, and polyp location were independent risk factors for bleeding. Patients with Child-Pugh B or C grade liver function were more likely to bleed than those with Child-Pugh A grade (OR = 4.102, 95% CI 1.133 ~ 14.856), gastric polyps were more likely to bleed than colorectal polyps (OR = 27.763, 95% CI 5.567 ~ 138.460), and severe esophagogastric varices were more likely to bleed than no varices or mild to moderate varices (OR = 7.183, 95% CI 1.384 ~ 37.275). Conclusion: Cirrhotic population has higher risk of bleeding during endoscopic gastrointestinal polypectomy than the non-cirrhotic population. Cirrhotic patients with Child-Pugh grades B or C liver function, polyps located in the stomach, severe esophagogastric varices, and other high-risk factors should be listed as a relative contraindication for endoscopic polypectomy.

Abstract
Glutamine (Gln) is an immunomodulatory protein that mediates oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis, but has not been reported in the treatment of hyperoxia (Hyp)-induced brain injury. The aim of this study was to determine whether Gln could improve hyp-induced brain injury in neonatal rats to and later learning and memory dysfunction, and to explore its possible mechanisms. We prepared a model of neonatal rat brain injury caused by normobaric hyperoxia while administered with Gln for 7 days for evaluation. Learning memory function was assessed with the Morris water maze test. Histological analysis, protein expression analysis, oxidative stress and inflammation level analysis were performed using hippocampal tissue. Gln treatment significantly reduced brain tissue water content, oxidative stress levels, microglia activation and inflammatory factor expression, and attenuated tissue damage and apoptosis in the hippocampal region. Gln ameliorates hyp-induced learning, memory impairment in neonatal rats in water maze test. It also increased MKP-1 protein expression and decreased p-p38, p-ERK and p-JNK. Therefore, it is hypothesized that Gln may exert neuroprotective effects by increasing MKP-1 expression to negatively regulate MAPK signaling, with potential cognitive improvement in hyp-induced brain injury.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to develop a radiomics signature (RS) based on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) and evaluate its potential predictive value in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients receiving anti-PD-1 therapy. METHOD CECT scans of 76 HCC patients who received anti-PD-1 therapy were obtained in this study (training group = 53 and validation group = 23). The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was applied to select radiomics features of primary and metastatic lesions and establish a RS to predict lesion-level response. Then, a nomogram combined the mean RS (MRS) and clinical variables with patient-level response as the end point. RESULTS In the lesion-level analysis, the area under the curves (AUCs) of RS in the training and validation groups were 0.751 (95% CI, 0.668-0.835) and 0.734 (95% CI, 0.604-0.864), respectively. In the patient-level analysis, the AUCs of the nomogram in the training and validation groups were 0.897 (95% CI, 0.798-0.996) and 0.889 (95% CI, 0.748-1.000), respectively. The nomogram stratified patients into low- and high-risk groups, which showed a significant difference in progression-free survival (PFS) (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The RS is a noninvasive biomarker for predicting anti-PD-1 therapy response in patients with HCC. The nomogram may be of clinical use for identifying high-risk patients and formulating individualised treatments.

Abstract
Robotic gastrectomy (RG) has always been a hot topic in the field of minimally invasive surgery for gastric cancer. More and more studies have confirmed that short- and long-term outcomes of RG are similar to those of laparoscopic gastrectomy. Robotic surgical systems have more advantages in specific regional lymph node dissection. More delicate operation can reduce intraoperative blood loss and the incidence of postoperative complications. Robotic surgical systems are also more ergonomically designed. However, there are also some problems such as high surgical cost, lack of tactile feedback and prolonged total operation time. In the future, robotic surgical system may be further developed in the direction of miniaturization, intelligence and modularity. At the same time, the robotic surgical system deeply integrated with artificial intelligence technology may realize the automation of some operation steps to some extent.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Resistance to conventional dose schemes and radiotoxicity of healthy tissue is a clinical challenge in the radiation therapy of large locally advanced drug-resistant gastrointestinal stromal tumor (LADR-GIST). This study aimed to assess the feasibility of using multi-shell Simultaneous Integrated Boost Intensity-Modulated modality (SIB-IMRT) strategy to provide a safe and effective escalation dose regimen for LADR-GIST. METHODS 7 patients with LADR-GIST were selected in this study. The modified SIB-IMRT plans for all patients were generated by delivering different escalation-dose gradients to four ring shaped regions (shells) within the gross tumor volume (GTV). The doses of the central volume of the tumor (GTVcenter) were escalated up to 70-92.5 Gy (25 fractions), while the doses of planning target volume (PTV) and shell-1 were kept at 50.0 Gy. Based on different escalation-dose gradients, the modified SIB-IMRT plans were divided into four groups (SIB-IMRT groups). For comparison purposes, plans obtained by conventional IMRT technique (Con-IMRT) with 50 Gy (25 fractions) were also generated for all patients (Con-IMRT group). All plans were normalized to cover 95% of the PTV with the prescribed dose of 50.0 Gy. The equivalent uniform dose (EUD), relative equivalent uniform dose (rEUD), dose volume histogram (DVH), dose profile, conformity index (CI) and monitor unit (MU) were evaluated in five groups. The Friedman Test was performed to determine whether there were significant differences (P < 0.05). RESULTS Compared with the Con-IMRT group, the EUD of GTV (EUDGTV) and rEUD of SIB-IMRT groups were improved when escalation-dose gradient was increased, and the improvement became significant when the escalation-dose gradient reached 20% of the prescription dose. The rEUD tended to be stable as the escalation-dose gradient went up to 25% of the prescription dose. There were no significant differences in CIs and DVH metrics for OARs between the Con-IMRT group and any SIB-IMRT group, but the significant differences were observed between the SIB10-IMRT group and the SIB25-IMRT group. For the SIB-IMRT groups, as the dose gradient became steeper in the dose profiles, the higher dose was mainly accumulated in the inner part of GTV accompanied with a higher MU. CONCLUSIONS The proposed multi-shell SIB-IMRT strategy is feasible in dosimetry for LADR-GIST and can acquire higher therapeutic gain without sacrifice of healthy tissues. It appears that the scheme of delivering 20% of the prescribed escalation-dose gradient to the target volume can provide satisfactory dose irradiation for LADR-GIST, and it should be evaluated in future clinical study.

Abstract
Polyurethane elastomers are anticipated to be applied in the field of cavitation erosion (CE) resistance, but their protection and damage mechanisms are not clear, which greatly restricts their further development. In this article, five polyether polyurethanes (PUx) with different crosslinking densities were prepared. Their mechanical properties, thermal properties, water absorption, surface morphology and chemical structure before and after CE tests were compared with ESEM, OM, TG-DSC, FTIR and XPS in detail. The results showed that with an increase in crosslinking density, the tensile strength of PUx increased first and then decreased, elongation at break and water absorption reduced gradually and thermal decomposition temperature and adhesion strength increased steadily. During the CE process, cavitation load aggravated the degree of microphase separation and made brittle hard segments concentrate on the coating surface; meanwhile, cavitation heat accelerated hydrolysis, pyrolysis, oxidation and the fracture of molecular chains. As a result, the mechano-thermal coupling intensified the formation and propagation of fatigue cracks, which should be the fundamental reason for the CE damage of polyurethane elastomer. PU0.4 exhibited the best CE resistance among the five coatings thanks to its good comprehensive properties and may find potential applications on the surface of hydraulic components.

Abstract
Behavioral changes in newborn 3-day-old rats (n=44) with modeled hypoxic-ischemic brain injury (HIBI) were observed, and the expression of CDK8 in brain tissues was detected to clarify the significance of CDK8. In 30 min, 3 h, and 3 days after HIBI, the left (ischemic) hemisphere was taken for examination. In 3 days after HIBI, the rat pups were examined in the behavioral tests. In rat pups with HIBI, changes of CDK8 expression were detected by Western blotting and real-time PCR and changes in the righting reflex and forelimb grip strength test (p<0.05) were revealed in comparison with sham-operated animals. The expression of CDK8 increased 30 min after HIBI and decreased in 3 h and 3 days. Hypoxia and ischemia of the left brain may affect locomotion, but not sensation. Abstract
BACKGROUND The role of the lymph node ratio (LNR) in the existing tumor node metastasis classification system should be verified as one of the prognosis prediction factors. This work evaluated LNR's performance in predicting cervical cancer (CC) prognosis through a meta-analysis. METHOD Related studies were retrieved from the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and PubMed databases. The language was restricted to English. The combined hazard ratios (HRs) were utilized to analyze the prognostic value of LNR. RESULTS Our study included 8 articles with 3325 subjects published after 2015. Based on our analysis, high LNR was the adverse prognostic factor for overall survival (OS, HR = 1.45; 95% CI = 1.23-1.73; P = .238) and disease-free survival (DFS, HR = 2.69; 95% CI = 1.98-3.66; P = .597) among the CC cases. Furthermore, as revealed by subgroup analysis, in CC patients, median LNR of about 0.0625 and 0.066 served as the prominent risk factor for DFS and OS. CONCLUSIONS The current work illustrates that elevated LNR is related to the dismal prognosis of CC. More well-designed clinical studies are warranted for assessing whether LNR is a factor independently predicting the prognosis of CC.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WWW production and a measurement of its cross section using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with two same-sign leptons (electrons or muons) and at least two jets, as well as events with three charged leptons, are selected. A multivariate technique is then used to discriminate between signal and background events. Events from WWW production are observed with a significance of 8.0 standard deviations, where the expectation is 5.4 standard deviations. The inclusive WWW production cross section is measured to be 820±100 (stat)±80 (syst) fb, approximately 2.6 standard deviations from the predicted cross section of 511±18 fb calculated at next-to-leading-order QCD and leading-order electroweak accuracy.

Abstract
Background: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), a member of the insulin family, has a high degree of homology with insulin and exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative stress properties. However, the potential protective effect of IGF-1 on hyperoxia-induced lung injury remains unknown. In this study, we aimed to explore the effects and mechanism of action of IGF-1 in hyperoxia-induced lung injury in neonatal rats. Materials and Methods: Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe pathological changes in lung tissue; transmission electron microscopy was used to examine the ultrastructure, and ELISA was used to detect the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. Further, malondialdehyde, glutathione, and superoxide dismutase activities in lung tissue were evaluated. TUNEL staining was used to detect cell apoptosis, and western blot analysis was used to detect the expression of Bax, Bcl-2, Caspase-3, p-PERK, p-eIF2α, ATF4, and CHOP in the lung tissue. Moreover, the wet/dry weight ratio of lung tissue was determined. Results: Intraperitoneal injection of IGF-1 effectively reduced lung tissue damage induced by hyperoxia; production of inflammatory cells and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress, and cell apoptosis. Further, IGF-1 down-regulated the expression of ATF4, CHOP, and Bax/Bcl-2, and inhibited the phosphorylation of PERK and eIF2α. Conclusion: The results suggest that IGF-1 reduces hyperoxia-induced lung inflammation and oxidative stress in neonatal rats through the PERK/eIF2α/ATF4/CHOP signaling pathway and inhibits cell apoptosis.

Abstract
Antifreeze proteins (AFPs), found in many cold-adapted organisms, can protect them from cold and freezing damages and have thus been considered as additional protectants in current cold tissue preservation solutions that generally include electrolytes, osmotic agents, colloids and antioxidants, to reduce the loss of tissue viability associated with cold-preservation. Due to the lack of toxicity profile studies on AFPs, their inclusion in cold preservation solutions has been a trial-and-error process limiting the development of AFPs' application in cold preservation. To assess the feasibility of translating the technology of AFPs for mammalian cell cold or cryopreservation, we determined the toxicity profile of two highly active beetle AFPs, DAFP1 and TmAFP, from Dendroides canadensis and Tenebrio molitor in this study. Toxicity was examined on a panel of representative mammalian cell lines including testicular spermatogonial stem cells and Leydig cells, macrophages, and hepatocytes. Treatments with DAFP1 and TmAFP at up to 500μg/mL for 48 and 72hours were safe in three of the cell lines, except for a 20% decrease in spermatogonia treated with TmAFP. However, both AFPs at 500μg/mL or below reduced hepatocyte viability by 20 to 40% at 48 and 72h. At 1000μg/mL, DAFP1 and TmAFP reduced viability in most cell lines. While spermatogonia and Leydig cell functions were not affected by 1000μg/mL DAFP1, this treatment induced inflammatory responses in macrophages. Adding 1000μg/ml DAFP1 to rat kidneys stored at 4°C for 48hours protected the tissues from cold-related damage, based on tissue morphology and gene and protein expression of two markers of kidney function. However, DAFP1 and TmAFP did not prevent the adverse effects of cold on kidneys over 72hours. Overall, DAFP1 is less toxic at high dose than TmAFP, and has potential for use in tissue preservation at doses up to 500μg/mL. However, careful consideration must be taken due to the proinflammatory potential of DAFP1 on macrophages at higher doses and the heighten susceptibility of hepatocytes to both AFPs.

Abstract
The standard model of particle physics1-4 describes the known fundamental particles and forces that make up our Universe, with the exception of gravity. One of the central features of the standard model is a field that permeates all of space and interacts with fundamental particles5-9. The quantum excitation of this field, known as the Higgs field, manifests itself as the Higgs boson, the only fundamental particle with no spin. In 2012, a particle with properties consistent with the Higgs boson of the standard model was observed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN10,11. Since then, more than 30 times as many Higgs bosons have been recorded by the ATLAS experiment, enabling much more precise measurements and new tests of the theory. Here, on the basis of this larger dataset, we combine an unprecedented number of production and decay processes of the Higgs boson to scrutinize its interactions with elementary particles. Interactions with gluons, photons, and W and Z bosons-the carriers of the strong, electromagnetic and weak forces-are studied in detail. Interactions with three third-generation matter particles (bottom (b) and top (t) quarks, and tau leptons (τ)) are well measured and indications of interactions with a second-generation particle (muons, μ) are emerging. These tests reveal that the Higgs boson discovered ten years ago is remarkably consistent with the predictions of the theory and provide stringent constraints on many models of new phenomena beyond the standard model.

Abstract
Background The global gamma passing rate is the most commonly used metric for patient-specific pretreatment quality assurance in radiation therapy. However, the optimal region for evaluation and specific action limits (ALs) need to be explored. Therefore, this study was carried out to explore the optimal region for evaluation of the global gamma passing rate and define ALs by using the COMPASS software. Methods A total of 93 intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) plans for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) patients, including 61 original plans and 32 multileaf collimator (MLC) error-introduced test plans, were selected for retrospective analysis. Firstly, the dose distribution was divided into six isodose regions (“≥10%”, “≥20%”, “≥30%”, “≥40%”, “≥50%”, and “≥60%”) based on the prescribed dose and one clinically oriented region for evaluation (“whole”) to perform the three-dimensional (3D) global gamma reanalysis. Meanwhile, the percentage gamma passing rate (%GP), mean gamma index (μGI) based on 3%/2 mm criteria, and percentage dose error (%DE) of the dose–volume histogram (DVH) metrics were recorded by COMPASS application. Secondly, the Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between %GP and %DE and between μGI and %DE in different regions. Additionally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) methodology was applied to quantify the fraction of patient-specific plans evaluated as “fail” and “pass”. In order to improve the correlation between gamma analysis result and clinical criteria, ROC analysis was carried out in accordance with hybridization analysis criteria (%DE ≤3%, %GP ≥90% and %DE ≤3%, μGI ≤0.6). ROC was performed for two purposes: 1) to analyze the sensitivity and specificity of %GP and μGI in different regions for evaluation and 2) to define the ALs of %GP and μGI in the optimal region for evaluation. Finally, the plans introduced with MLC errors were prepared for validation. Moreover, we also compared the positive rate of ALs of both %GP and μGI in detecting MLC error-introduced plans in different regions. Results 1) In our study, a number of DVH-based metrics were found to be correlated with the evaluation parameters. The corresponding number was 4, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, and 3 in γwhole, γ10%, γ20%, γ30%, γ40%, γ50%, and γ60%, respectively, and 5, 3, 0, 1, 1, 4, and 2 in μGIwhole, μGI10%, μGI20%, μGI30%, μGI40%, μGI50%, and μGI60%, respectively. The results by COMPASS have revealed that the %DE of specific structures has a slightly higher correlation with both %GP and μGI of the “whole” region compared with that of any other region. However, it is a moderate correlation (0.5 ≤ |r| < 0.8). 2) The areas under the curves (AUCs) of γwhole, μGIwhole, μGI40%, μGI50%, and μGI60% were >0.7 based on 3%/2 mm criteria. According to the Youden coefficient, we defined the ALs of γwhole ≥92%, μGIwhole ≤0.36, μGI40% ≤0.43, and μGI60% ≤0.40 based on 3%/2 mm criteria. 3) In the validation, for original plans, the accuracy of ALγwhole, ALγ10%, ALμGIwhole, ALμGI40%, ALμGI50%, and ALμGI60% was 23%, 9.8%, 90%, 80.3%, 9.8%, and 88.5%, respectively. For test plans with systematic MLC errors smaller than 0.8 mm, the positive rates of ALγwhole, ALγ10%, ALμGIwhole, ALμGI40%, ALμGI50%, and ALμGI60% were 25%, 58%, 92%, 92%, 42%, and 100%, respectively. For the plans with systematic MLC errors higher than 0.8 mm, the positive rates of all AL%GP and ALμGI were 100%. From the COMPASS validation results, the accuracy of γwhole, μGIwhole, μGI40%, and μGI60% was higher than that of the conventional γ10% and commonly used μGI50%. Conclusions Compared with the traditional evaluation region (i.e., the criteria with a threshold of 10% or a threshold of 50%, it was the same with the isodose regions of “≥10%”, “≥50%” based on the prescribed dose in our study), the “whole” region is more meaningful to the clinic by COMPASS. The accuracy of μGIwhole is higher than that of the conventional γ10% and the commonly used μGI50%.

Abstract
Background In the patient-specific quality assurance (QA), DVH is a critical clinically relevant parameter that is finally used to determine the safety and effectiveness of radiotherapy. However, a consensus on DVH-based action levels has not been reached yet. The aim of this study is to explore reasonable DVH-based action levels and optimal DVH metrics in detecting systematic MLC errors for cervical cancer RapidArc plans. Methods In this study, a total of 148 cervical cancer RapidArc plans were selected and measured with COMPASS 3D dosimetry system. Firstly, the patient-specific QA results of 110 RapidArc plans were retrospectively reviewed. Then, DVH-based action limits (AL) and tolerance limits (TL) were obtained by statistical process control. Secondly, systematic MLC errors were introduced in 20 RapidArc plans, generating 380 modified plans. Then, the dose difference (%DE) in DVH metrics between modified plans and original plans was extracted from measurement results. After that, the linear regression model was used to investigate the detection limits of DVH-based action levels between %DE and systematic MLC errors. Finally, a total of 180 test plans (including 162 error-introduced plans and 18 original plans) were prepared for validation. The error detection rate of DVH-based action levels was compared in different DVH metrics of 180 test plans. Results A linear correlation was found between systematic MLC errors and %DE in all DVH metrics. Based on linear regression model, the systematic MLC errors between -0.94 mm and 0.88 mm could be caught by the TL of PTV95 ([-1.54%, 1.51%]), and the systematic MLC errors between -1.00 mm and 0.80 mm could also be caught by the TL of PTVmean ([-2.06%, 0.38%]). In the validation, for original plans, PTV95 showed the minimum error detection rate of 5.56%. For error-introduced plans with systematic MLC errors more than 1mm, PTVmean showed the maximum error detection rate of 88.89%, and then was followed by PTV95 (86.67%). All the TL of DVH metrics showed a poor error detection rate in identifying error-induced plans with systematic MLC errors less than 1mm. Conclusion In 3D quality assurance of cervical cancer RapidArc plans, process-based tolerance limits showed greater advantages in distinguishing plans introduced with systematic MLC errors more than 1mm, and reasonable DVH-based action levels can be acquired through statistical process control. During DVH-based verification, main focus should be on the DVH metrics of target volume. OARs in low-dose regions were found to have a relatively higher dose sensitivity to smaller systematic MLC errors, but may be accompanied with higher false error detection rate.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the impact of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on clinical outcomes of patients receiving anti-PD-1 immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma. METHODS We conducted a retrospective study among 215 patients with primary liver cancer receiving immunotherapy between June, 2018 and October, 2020. The patients with balanced baseline characteristics were selected based on propensity matching scores, and among them 33 patients who used NSAIDs were matched at the ratio of 1∶3 with 78 patients who did not use NSAIDs. We compared the overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and disease control rate (DCR) between the two groups. RESULTS There was no significant difference in OS between the patients using NSAIDs (29.7%) and those who did not use NSAIDs (70.2%). Univariate and multivariate analyses did not show an a correlation of NSAIDs use with DCR (univariate analysis: OR=0.602, 95% CI: 0.299-1.213, P=0.156; multivariate analysis: OR=0.693, 95% CI: 0.330-1.458, P=0.334), PFS (univariate analysis: HR=1.230, 95% CI: 0.789-1.916, P=0.361; multivariate analysis: HR=1.151, 95% CI: 0.732-1.810, P=9.544), or OS (univariate analysis: HR=0.552, 95% CI: 0.208-1.463, P=0.232; multivariate analysis: HR=1.085, 95% CI: 0.685-1.717, P=0.729). CONCLUSION Our results show no favorable effect of NSAIDs on the efficacy of immunotherapy in patients with advanced primary liver cancer, but this finding still needs to be verified by future prospective studies of large cohorts.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the independent risk factors of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in early gastric cancer, and to use nomogram to construct a prediction model for above LNM. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted. Inclusion criteria: (1) primary early gastric cancer as stage pT1 confirmed by postoperative pathology; (2) complete clinicopathological data. Exclusion criteria: (1) patients with advanced gastric cancer, stump gastric cancer or history of gastrectomy; (2) early gastric cancer patients confirmed by pathology after neoadjuvant chemotherapy; (3) other types of gastric tumors, such as lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumor, stromal tumor, etc.; (4) primary tumors of other organs with gastric metastasis. According to the above criteria, 1633 patients with early gastric cancer who underwent radical gastrectomy at the Department of General Surgery of the Chinese PLA General Hospital First Medical Center from December 2005 to December 2020 were enrolled as training set, meanwhile 239 patients with early gastric cancer who underwent gastrectomy at the Department of General Surgery of the Chinese PLA General Hospital Fourth Medical Center from December 2015 to December 2020 were enrolled as external validation set. Risk factors of LNM in early gastric cancer were identified by using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. A nomogram prediction model was established with significant factors screened by multivariate analysis. Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was used for assessing the predictive value of the model. Calibration curve was drawn for external validation. Results: Among 1633 patients in training set, the mean number of retrieved lymph nodes was 20 (13-28), and 209 patients (12.8%) had lymph node metastasis. Univariate analysis showed that gender, resection range, tumor location, tumor morphology, lymph node clearance, vascular invasion, lymphatic cancer thrombus, tumor length, tumor differentiation, microscopic presence of signet ring cells and depth of tumor invasion were associated with LNM (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that females, tumor morphology as ulcer type, vascular invasion, lymphatic cancer thrombus, tumor length≥3 cm, deeper invasion of mucosa, and poor differentiation were independent risk factors for LNM in early gastric cancers (all P<0.05). Receiver operating characteristic curve indicated that AUC of training set was 0.818 (95%CI: 0.790-0.847) and AUC of external validation set was 0.765 (95%CI: 0.688-0.843). The calibration curve showed that the LNM probability predicted by nomogram was consistent with the actual situation (C-index: 0.818 in training set and 0.765 in external validation set). Conclusions: Females, tumor morphology as ulcer type, vascular invasion, lymphatic cancer thrombus, tumor length≥3 cm, deeper invasion of mucosa and poor differentiation are independent risk factors for LNM of early gastric cancer. The establishment of a nomogram prediction model for LNM in early gastric cancer has great diagnostic value and can provide reference for treatment selection.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the influence factors of short-term recurrence after complete surgical resection of retroperitoneal liposarcoma. Methods: The clinicopathological data of retroperitoneal liposarcoma at Department of General Surgery, the First Medical Center, People's Liberation Army General Hospital from January 1, 2000 to January 31, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 60 males and 31 females, aged (52.1±9.9) years (range: 30 to 84 years). Tumor recurrence within 12 months after complete resection was defined as short-term recurrence, and tumor recurrence more than 12 months was defined as non-short-term recurrence. The t test, rank-sum test, χ2 test and Fisher exact test were conducted for inter-group comparison. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the independent influence factors for the short-term recurrence of retroperitoneal liposarcoma after complete resection. The Kaplan-Meier curve was used to calculate the recurrence-free survival, and the Log-rank test was adopted for the comparison between the groups. Results: The univariate analysis results showed that irregular tumor morphology, multiple pathological subtypes, pathological scores>3, and multiple primary tumors are influence factors for short-term recurrence after complete resection of retroperitoneal liposarcoma (χ2: 4.422 to 7.773, all P<0.05). Regression analysis of the above risk factors showed that multiple primary tumors was the independent risk factor (OR=2.918, 95%CI: 1.127 to 7.556, P=0.027). In the short-term recurrence group, Kaplan-Meier curve analysis showed that patients with multiple primary tumors had a shorter median recurrence time than patients with unifocal tumor (6 months vs. 9 months, P=0.028). Conclusions: Multiple primary tumor is an independent risk factor for short-term recurrence after complete resection of retroperitoneal liposarcoma. It suggests that the frequency of follow-up after surgery should be increased for such patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS To compare the association of geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) and controlling nutritional status (CONUT) scores with malnutrition, and to study their association with clinical outcomes in older adult cancer patients. METHODS This retrospective analysis was conducted on 854 older adult cancer patients collected from 34 hospitals in 18 cities in China between June and September 2014. Anthropometric and hematological examination results at admission were collected, and subjective global assessment was used. Clinical outcomes, such as complications, length of hospital stays, and hospital costs, were recorded. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the accuracy of the two nutritional assessment tools for malnutrition. The association between GNRI and CONUT score and clinical outcomes was analyzed using the chi-square test, t-test, or rank sum test. RESULTS Among 854 patients with cancer, the prevalence of malnutrition was 42.7%. Compared with subjective global assessment, the GNRI had a significantly higher accuracy than the CONUT score in predicting malnutrition (area under the curve 0.704, 95% confidence interval, 0.658 - 0.750, P < 0.001). The GNRI was significantly associated with the occurrence of complications (χ2 = 4.985, P = 0.026), and low GNRI (≤98) was associated with a longer length of hospital stay (t = -2.179, P = 0.030). CONCLUSIONS The GNRI may be used to assess malnutrition in older adult cancer patients and can predict poor clinical outcomes in these patients.

Abstract
A search for lepton-flavor-violating Z→eτ and Z→μτ decays with pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. This analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of Run 2 pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and is combined with the results of a similar ATLAS search in the final state in which the τ lepton decays hadronically, using the same data set as well as Run 1 data. The addition of leptonically decaying τ leptons significantly improves the sensitivity reach for Z→ℓτ decays. The Z→ℓτ branching fractions are constrained in this analysis to B(Z→eτ)<7.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<7.2×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level. The combination with the previously published analyses sets the strongest constraints to date: B(Z→eτ)<5.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<6.5×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level.

Abstract
The accumulation of aggregated α-synuclein (α-syn) has been identified as the primary component of Lewy bodies that are the pathological hallmarks of Parkinson's disease (PD). Several preclinical studies have shown α-syn aggregation, and particularly the intermediates formed during the aggregation process to be toxic to cells. Current PD treatments only provide symptomatic relief, and α-syn serves as a promising target to develop a disease-modifying therapy for PD. Our previous studies have revealed that a small-molecular inhibitor for prolyl oligopeptidase (PREP), KYP-2047, increases α-syn degradation by accelerating macroautophagy (MA) leading to disease-modifying effects in preclinical PD models. However, α-syn is also degraded by chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA). In the present study, we tested the effects of PREP inhibition or deletion on CMA activation and α-syn degradation. HEK-293 cells were transfected with α-syn and incubated with 1 & 10 µM KYP-2047 for 24 h. Both 1 & 10 µM KYP-2047 increased LAMP-2A levels, induced α-syn degradation and reduced the expression of Hsc70, suggesting that the PREP inhibitor prevented α-syn aggregation by activating the CMA pathway. Similarly, KYP-2047 increased the LAMP-2A immunoreactivity and reduced the Hsc70 levels in mouse primary cortical neurons. When LAMP-2A was silenced by a siRNA, KYP-2047 increased the LC3BII/LC3BI ratio and accelerated the clearance of α-syn. Additionally, KYP-2047 induced CMA effectively also when MA was blocked by bafilomycin A1. Based on our results, we suggest that PREP might function as a core network node in MA-CMA crosstalk, and PREP inhibition can reduce α-syn levels via both main autophagy systems.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of siRNA targeting inhibition of α-enolase (ENO1) combined with paclitaxel on the proliferation, invasion and apoptosis of hepatocellular carcinoma SK-HEP-1 cell and its mechanism. Methods: siRNA-ENO1 (siRNA-ENO1 group) and siRNA-negative control (siRNA-NC group) were transfected into SK-HEP-1 cells in vitro, the untransfected SK-HEP-1 cells were used as the control group, and the transfection effect was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting. After SK-HEP-1 cells were treated with 0, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 μg/L paclitaxel for 48 hours, the cell survival rate was measured by 3-(4, 5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2, 5-diphenyl-2H tetrazolium bromide (MTT) method and the semi inhibitory concentration of paclitaxel was calculated. SK-HEP-1 cells transfected with siRNA-ENO1 or siRNA-NC were treated with 10 μg/L paclitaxel as paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group and paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group. The proliferation, clonogenesis, invasion and apoptosis of siRNA-NC group, siRNA-ENO1 group, paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group and paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group were detected by MTT, clonogenesis, Transwell chamber and flow cytometry respectively. The expression levels of the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (p-PI3K), p-protein kinase B (Akt) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and B lymphocytoma-2 gene (Bcl-2) were detected by western blotting. Results: Compared with the control group (1.00±0.00 and 0.69±0.04, respectively), the expression levels of ENO1 mRNA and protein (0.25±0.03 and 0.23±0.02, respectively) in siRNA-ENO1 group decreased significantly (P<0.05), but there were no significant differences in the expression levels of ENO1 mRNA and protein in siRNA-NC group (P>0.05). Compared without treatment group [(100.00±0.00)%, P<0.05], the survival rates of SK-HEP-1 cells treated with 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 μg/L paclitaxel [(88.65±6.46)%, (72.36±6.08)%, (60.48±4.23)%, (38.52±3.56)% and (20.75±2.32)%, respectively] decreased significantly (P<0.05), and the semi inhibitory concentration of paclitaxel was 13.26 μg/L. The cell survival rate and clone formation rate of siRNA-ENO1 group [(68.86±5.12)% and (18.12±2.25)%, respectively] were lower than those of siRNA-NC group [(100.00±0.00)% and (29.65±3.06)%, respectively, P<0.05]. The cell survival rate and clone formation rate of the paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group [(43.28±2.64)% and (8.72±0.52)%, respectively] were significantly different from those of the paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group [(61.75±5.06)% and (13.48±2.16)%, respectively, P<0.05] and siRNA-ENO1 groups [(68.86±5.12)% and (18.12±2.25)%, respectively, P<0.05]. Cell invasion number in paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group (23.64±2.12) was lower than that in siRNA-ENO1 group and paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group (42.16±2.75 and 37.35±2.42, respectively, P<0.05). The apoptosis rates of paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group and siRNA-ENO1 group [(17.49±1.35)% and (15.29±1.50)%, respectively] were higher than that of siRNA-NC group [(7.21±0.70)%, P<0.05]. The apoptosis rate in the paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group [(24.59±2.40)%] was higher than those in the paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group and siRNA-ENO1 group [(17.49±1.35)% and (15.29±1.50)%, respectively, P<0.05]. The expression levels of ENO1, PI3K/Akt signaling pathway related proteins including p-PI3K and p-Akt and the expression levels of PCNA, MMP-9 and Bcl-2 in siRNA-ENO1 group and paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group were lower than those in siRNA-NC group (P<0.05). The expression levels of ENO1, p-PI3K, p-Akt, PCNA, MMP-9 and Bcl-2 in paclitaxel+ siRNA-ENO1 group were lower than those in siRNA-ENO1 group or paclitaxel+ siRNA-NC group (P<0.05). Conclusion: siRNA targeting inhibition of ENO1 expression can enhance the inhibitory effect of paclitaxel on proliferation, invasion and apoptosis of SK-HEP-1 cells, and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Abstract
Active learning (AL) is a branch of machine learning that deals with problems where unlabeled data is abundant yet obtaining labels is expensive. The learning algorithm has the possibility of querying a limited number of samples to obtain the corresponding labels, subsequently used for supervised learning. In this work, we consider the task of choosing the subset of samples to be labeled from a fixed finite pool of samples. We assume the pool of samples to be a random matrix and the ground truth labels to be generated by a single-layer teacher random neural network. We employ replica methods to analyze the large deviations for the accuracy achieved after supervised learning on a subset of the original pool. These large deviations then provide optimal achievable performance boundaries for any AL algorithm. We show that the optimal learning performance can be efficiently approached by simple message-passing AL algorithms. We also provide a comparison with the performance of some other popular active learning strategies.
