Abstract
After ischemic injury, immune cells mediate maladaptive cardiac remodeling. Extracellular matrix biomaterials may redirect inflammation toward repair. Pericardial fluid contains pro-reparative immune cells, potentially leverageable by biomaterials. Herein, we explore how pericardial delivery of a micronized extracellular matrix biomaterial affects cardiac healing. In noninfarcted mice, pericardial delivery increases pericardial and myocardial eosinophil counts. This response is sustained after myocardial infarction, stimulating an interleukin 4 rich milieu. Ultimately, the biomaterial improves postinfarct vascularization and cardiac function; and eosinophil-knockout negates these benefits. For the first time, to our knowledge, we demonstrate the therapeutic potential of pericardial biomaterial delivery and the eosinophil's critical role in biomaterial-mediated postinfarct repair.

Abstract
PURPOSE Aerobic exercise training results in distinct structural and mechanical myocardial adaptations. In skeletal muscle, whey protein supplementation is effective in enhancing muscle adaptation following resistance exercise. However, it is unclear whether cardiac adaptation to aerobic exercise can be enhanced by systematic protein supplementation. METHODS Twelve-week-old rats were assigned to 12 weeks of either sedentary or aerobic exercise with either a standard (Sed+Standard, Ex+Standard) or high-protein (Sed+Pro, Ex+Pro) diet. Echocardiography was used to measure cardiac structural remodeling and performance. Skinned cardiac fiber bundles were used to determine the active and passive stress properties, maximum shortening velocity, and calcium sensitivity. RESULTS Aerobic training was characterized structurally by increases in ventricle volume (Ex+Standard, 19%; Ex+Pro, 29%) and myocardial thickness (Ex+Standard, 26%; Ex+- Pro, 12%) compared to that of baseline. Skinned trabecula r fiber bundles also had a greater unloaded shortening velocity (Sed+Standard, 1.04±0.05; Sed+Pro, 1.07±0.03; Ex- +Standard, 1.16±0.04; Ex+Pro, 1.18±0.05 FL/s) and calcium sensitivity (pCa50: Sed+Standard, 6.04±0.17; Sed+Pro, 6.08±0.19; Ex+Standard, 6.30±0.09; Ex+Pro, 6.36±0.12) in trained hearts compared to that of hearts from sedentary animals. However, the addition of a high-protein diet did not provide additional benefits to either the structural or mechanical adaptations of the myocardium. CONCLUSION Therefore, it seems that a high-whey-protein diet does not significantly enhance adaptations of the heart to aerobic exercise in comparison to that of a standard diet.

Abstract
This protocol has shown that the pericardium and its contents play an essential anti-fibrotic role in the ischemic rodent model (coronary ligation to induce myocardial injury). The majority of pre-clinical myocardial infarction models require the disruption of pericardial integrity with loss of the homeostatic cellular milieu. However, recently a methodology has been developed by us to induce myocardial infarction, which minimizes pericardial damage and retains the heart's resident immune cell population. An improved cardiac functional recovery in mice with an intact pericardial space following coronary ligation has been observed. This method provides an opportunity to study inflammatory responses in the pericardial space following myocardial infarction. Further development of the labeling techniques can be combined with this model to understand the fate and function of pericardial immune cells in regulating the inflammatory mechanisms that drive remodeling in the heart, including fibrosis.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Aerobic and resistance exercise training results in distinct structural changes of the heart. The mechanics of how cardiac cells adapt to resistance training and the benefits to cells when combining aerobic and resistance exercise remains largely unknown. The purpose of this study was to compare mechanical adaptations of skinned cardiac fiber bundles after chronic resistance, aerobic and combined exercise training in rats. We hypothesized that differences in mechanical function on the fiber bundle level coincide with differences previously reported in the structure of the heart. METHOD Twelve-week-old rats were assigned to (i) an aerobic running group (n = 6), (ii) a ladder climbing resistance group (n = 6), (iii) a combination group subjected to aerobic and resistance training (n = 6), or (iv) a sedentary (control) group (n = 5). Echocardiography was used to measure cardiac structural remodeling. Skinned cardiac fiber bundles were used to determine active and passive force properties, maximal shortening velocity, and calcium sensitivity. RESULTS Aerobically trained animals had 43%-49% greater ventricular volume and myocardial thickness, and a 4%-17% greater shortening velocity and calcium sensitivity compared with control group rats. Resistance-trained rats had 37%-71% thicker ventricular walls, a 56% greater isometric force production, a 9% greater shortening velocity, and a 4% greater calcium sensitivity compared with control group rats. The combination exercise-trained rats had 25%-43% greater ventricular volume and myocardial wall thickness, a 55% greater active force production, a 7% greater shortening velocity, and a 60% greater cross-bridge cooperativity compared with control group rats. CONCLUSIONS The heart adapts differently to each exercise modality, and a combination of aerobic and resistance training may have the greatest benefit for cardiac health and performance.

Abstract
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a high-fat high-sucrose (HFHS) diet on previously reported adaptations of cardiac morphological and contractile properties to resistance training. [Methods] Twelve-week-old rats participated in 12-weeks of resistance exercise training and consumed an HFHS diet. Echocardiography and skinned cardiac muscle fiber bundle testing were performed to determine the structural and mechanical adaptations. [Results] Compared to chow-fed sedentary animals, both HFHS- and chow-fed resistance-trained animals had thicker left ventricular walls. Isolated trabecular fiber bundles from chow-fed resistance-trained animals had greater force output, shortening velocities, and calcium sensitivities than those of chow-fed sedentary controls. However, trabeculae from the HFHS resistance-trained animals had greater force output but no change in unloaded shortening velocity or calcium sensitivity than those of the chow-fed sedentary group animals. [Conclusion] Resistance exercise training led to positive structural and mechanical adaptations of the heart, which were partly offset by the HFHS diet.

Abstract
Abstract
An interlaboratory study of a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GFAAS) method for the determination of lead in wine was conducted. Seventeen laboratories from France, United States, and the United Kingdom, using a variety of GFAAS instruments, took part in the study. The method incorporated a novel matrix-matching procedure to minimize matrix effects between standards and samples. Six wine test materials were prepared and sent to participants as 12 blind duplicate or split level samples. There was good agreement between results obtained from participants and target values (24–279 μg/L) obtained with an inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry method. The precision of the GFAAS method was well within the range predicted by the Horwitz equation for the 6 test materials analyzed. Repeatability standard deviations ranged from 3 to 17%. Reproducibility standard deviations were in the range of 10 to 30%. The method is recommended for use for official purposes.

Abstract
Learning disability nurses in the UK have received unprecedented attention over the past 5 years in response to anxieties about their role. The problem has been conceptualized as being the inability of nurses to articulate their contribution to meeting the needs of people with learning disabilities and a lack of evidence of their effectiveness. This paper proposes that, although nurses are valued for their contribution individually in services, they are working within devaluing systems which have created conceptual and strategic uncertainty about learning disabilities generally. In order to move forward, nurses need to understand the ways in which these systems exert their influence. It is proposed that if three broad aims for the profession are pursued this will help improve practice whilst simultaneously helping nurses feel more secure about their contribution in the field of learning disabilities.

Abstract
Streptococcus agalactiae infections in fish are predominantly caused by beta-haemolytic strains of clonal complex (CC) 7, notably its namesake sequence type (ST) 7, or by non-haemolytic strains of CC552, including the globally distributed ST260. In contrast, CC23, including its namesake ST23, has been associated with a wide homeothermic and poikilothermic host range, but never with fish. The aim of this study was to determine whether ST23 is virulent in fish and to identify genomic markers of fish adaptation of S. agalactiae. Intraperitoneal challenge of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus), showed that ST260 is lethal at doses down to 10(2) cfu per fish, whereas ST23 does not cause disease at 10(7) cfu per fish. Comparison of the genome sequence of ST260 and ST23 with those of strains derived from fish, cattle and humans revealed the presence of genomic elements that are unique to subpopulations of S. agalactiae that have the ability to infect fish (CC7 and CC552). These loci occurred in clusters exhibiting typical signatures of mobile genetic elements. PCR-based screening of a collection of isolates from multiple host species confirmed the association of selected genes with fish-derived strains. Several fish-associated genes encode proteins that potentially provide fitness in the aquatic environment.

Abstract
Background—
Experimental cell therapy attenuates maladaptive cardiac remodeling and improves heart function. Paracrine mechanisms have been proposed. The effect of cell therapy on post infarction cardiac fibroblast and extracellular matrix (ECM) regulation was examined.
Methods and Results—
Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) were injected into the border zone of subacute infarcted syngeneic Fischer rat hearts and compared with medium-injected controls. Twelve weeks post injection, cell-treated hearts showed preserved ECM content and attenuated structural chamber remodeling. Myofibroblast activation (α-smooth muscle actin expression) was decreased significantly, while basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) expression, a known inhibitor of transforming growth factor β-1–induced fibroblast differentiation, was increased. Matrix metalloproteinase-2 expression and activation by gelatin zymography was unchanged between groups, while its endogenous inhibitor, tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase (TIMP)-2, showed both increased expression and enhanced inhibitory capacity in cell-treated hearts. To define paracrine mechanisms, in vitro effects of VSMC conditioned media on myofibroblast activation were assessed by 3-D collagen gel contraction assay. VSMC conditioned media significantly inhibited collagen contraction, while a specific bFGF inhibitor abolished this paracrine response. TIMP-2 induced collagen contraction, but the effect was suppressed in the presence of bFGF.
Conclusions—
Extracellular matrix dysregulation post myocardial infarction is improved by cell therapy. These data suggest that cell transplantation attenuates myofibroblast activation and subsequent maladaptive structural chamber remodeling through paracrine mechanisms involving bFGF and TIMP-2.

Abstract
A 19-year-old male patient presented with progressive myoclonic seizures and speech disorder. The patient had photosensitivity, a few episodes of sudden transient blindness, and infrequent complex visual auras, dysarthria and mild ataxia, frequent myoclonic jerks prominently in the legs and severe dementia. Microscopic examination of the axillary skin biopsy revealed periodic acid-Schiff positive inclusion bodies in abluminal side of the apocrine sweat gland acini. Molecular screening showed a homozygous R241X mutation in EPM2A. Genotyping helps in the correct diagnosis of the Lafora disease (LD), which may be difficult to diagnose based on the available histopathological testing only. Our study is an effort to determine the distribution of mutations in LD patients in our region.

Abstract
Observations were made using histopathological techniques in conjunction with a nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) protocol for the specific detection of "Candidatus arthromitus" on DNA extracted from wax-embedded tissues and fresh digestive contents of rainbow trout. Samples positive for "Candidatus arthromitus" DNA included fish with rainbow trout gastroenteritis (RTGE), clinically normal cohabiting fish, and apparently healthy controls from RTGE positive and RTGE negative sites. The results obtained from the PCR were confirmed by nucleotide sequencing. "Candidatus arthromitus" DNA was found in distal intestine as well as in sections of pyloric caeca, suggesting that both these locations are appropriate for molecular detection of "Candidatus arthromitus" DNA in trout. Furthermore, rainbow trout fry distal intestinal samples from two different hatcheries where RTGE had not been reported were also positive. Differences in "Candidatus arthromitus" DNA detection between paraffin wax-embedded and fresh digestive content samples from the same fish suggested that it may be predominantly epithelium-associated in healthy trout. Parallel histopathological observations indicated that pyloric caeca are the preferred site for visualizing segmented filamentous bacteria (SFB) in trout with RTGE. The results of this study showed that the presence of SFB was not invariably associated with clinical disease and that more information is required to understand the role of these organisms.

It has an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance and is almost universally fatal by the second or third decade of life. To date, there is no prevention or cure. In the last decade, with the identification of the genes responsible for this disease, much knowledge has been gained with the potential for the future development of effective treatment. This review will briefly address clinical issues and will focus on the molecular aspects of the disease.

Abstract
Lafora disease (LD) can be diagnosed by skin biopsy, but this approach has both false negatives and false positives. Biopsies of other organs can also be diagnostic but are more invasive. Genetic diagnosis is also possible but can be inconclusive, for example, in patients with only one heterozygous EPM2A mutation and patients with apparently homozygous EPM2B mutations where one parent is not a carrier of the mutation. We sought to identify occult mutations and clarify the genotypes and confirm the diagnosis of LD in patients with apparent nonrecessive disease inheritance. We used single nucleotide polymorphism, quantitative PCR, and fluorescent in situ hybridization analyses. We identified large EPM2A and EPM2B deletions undetectable by PCR in the heterozygous state and describe simple methods for their routine detection. We report a coding sequence change in several patients and describe why the pathogenic role of this change remains unclear. We confirm that adult-onset LD is due to EPM2B mutations. Finally, we report major intrafamilial heterogeneity in age at onset in LD.

Abstract
AIT-082 is a purine derivative with neuroprotective and neurotrophic activity that is desirable in a candidate therapy for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Consequently, we investigated the effect of AIT-082 in a transgenic mouse model of ALS. AIT-082 (0, 1, 3, 10, 30, 60, 100 mg/kg) was given to TgN(SOD1-G93A)1Gur transgenic mice from age 30 days until death. The age at onset of clinical signs of disease and the age at death were recorded for each animal. Disease progression was measured by the weekly average distance run in a running wheel. Analysis was made by the Kaplan Meier method with log rank statistics, log rank for trend and Cox regression. Neuropathological study of the brain, spinal cord, muscles and other organs was undertaken at death. In a second experiment we studied the effect of AIT-082 (30 mg/kg) at the onset of disease and during survival of transgenic G93A SOD1 mice, beginning dosing at different ages (20, 30, 40, 60, 80 days). Disease onset was mildly earlier (i.e. worse) at 1 and 10 mg/kg AIT-082 and mildly delayed at 30 mg/kg. This improvement did not reach the usual statistical significance. There was no difference in the age at death for any treatment dose. There was no difference in the neuropathology of treated and untreated G93A mice. However, there was an early improvement in the running wheel function at all tested doses. Using Cox regression, after adjustment for sex, the mice in the running wheels had slightly delayed onset of disease without change in survival and, after adjustment for exercise, the female mice had slightly improved survival. Consequently, AIT-082 would not be an attractive candidate for ALS clinical trials as monotherapy and justification for its use in combination therapy would require additional laboratory support. There was dissociation between the endpoints of disease progression (as judged by running wheel performance) and disease onset and survival. AIT-082 improved early running wheel performance yet led to accelerated late decline and had no impact on survival. It is possible that the drug facilitates early sprouting that leads to accelerated late decline.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Governmental reviews of out-of-hours services in England and Scotland have recommended that a standard questionnaire should be used to assess patient satisfaction. This is important because of the rapid introduction of new forms of care. OBJECTIVE To produce a brief, reliable and valid measure of patient satisfaction for use by a wide variety of providers of out-of-hours primary care. METHODS The Short Questionnaire for Out-of-Hours care was designed and compared with a longer questionnaire which had been validated and used in earlier research. Questionnaires were sent to 1906 people contacting an out-of-hours GP co-operative. Three versions of the short questionnaire were used with different formats. Analysis compared the response rates, measurement properties, concurrent and construct validity of the short and long questionnaires, and of different versions of the short questionnaire. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS There was no significant difference in the overall response rates obtained from the short or long questionnaires (45.7% versus 41.9%; P = 0.17). The effective response rate of questionnaires from which all satisfaction scales could be calculated was higher for the short questionnaire (43.0% versus 36.4%; P = 0.01). There were no significant differences in response rates or distribution of responses between different versions of the short questionnaire. There was moderate agreement between items on the short questionnaire and corresponding scales on the long questionnaire. Scores using the short questionnaire showed anticipated relationships with the age and sex of patients and with characteristics of how the service was delivered. The SQOC is valid and reliable for routine service use.

Abstract
A series of 14C measurements in Ocean Drilling Program cores from the tropical Cariaco Basin, which have been correlated to the annual-layer counted chronology for the Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 (GISP2) ice core, provides a high-resolution calibration of the radiocarbon time scale back to 50,000 years before the present. Independent radiometric dating of events correlated to GISP2 suggests that the calibration is accurate. Reconstructed 14C activities varied substantially during the last glacial period, including sharp peaks synchronous with the Laschamp and Mono Lake geomagnetic field intensity minimal and cosmogenic nuclide peaks in ice cores and marine sediments. Simulations with a geochemical box model suggest that much of the variability can be explained by geomagnetically modulated changes in 14C production rate together with plausible changes in deep-ocean ventilation and the global carbon cycle during glaciation.

Abstract
Creatine monohydrate (CrM) supplementation appears to be relatively safe based on data from short-term and intermediate-term human studies and results from several therapeutic trials. The purpose of the current study was to characterize pathological changes after intermediate-term and long-term CrM supplementation in mice [healthy control and SOD1 (G93A) transgenic] and rats (prednisolone and nonprednisolone treated). Histological assessment (18-20 organs/tissues) was performed on G93A mice after 159 days, and in Sprague-Dawley rats after 365 days, of CrM supplementation (2% wt/wt) compared with control feed. Liver histology was also evaluated in CD-1 mice after 300 days of low-dose CrM supplementation (0.025 and 0.05 g x kg-1x day-1) and in Sprague-Dawley rats after 52 days of CrM supplementation (2% wt/wt) with and without prednisolone. Areas of hepatitis were observed in the livers of the CrM-supplemented G93A mice (P < 0.05), with no significant inflammatory lesions in any of the other 18-20 tissues/organs that were evaluated. The CD-1 mice also showed significant hepatic inflammatory lesions (P < 0.05), yet there was no negative effect of CrM on liver histology in the Sprague-Dawley rats after intermediate-term or long-term supplementation nor was inflammation seen in any other tissues/organs (P = not significant). Dietary CrM supplementation can induce inflammatory changes in the liver of mice, but not rats. The observed inflammatory changes in the murine liver must be considered in the evaluation of hepatic metabolism in CrM-supplemented mice. Species differences must be considered in the evaluation of toxicological and physiological studies.

Abstract
This study investigated the effects of riluzole (Ril), creatine (Cr) and a combination of these treatments on the onset and progression of clinical signs and neuropathology in an animal model of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the G93A transgenic mouse (n=13-17 per group). The onset of clinical signs was delayed (P<0.05) by about 12 days in all treatment groups compared with control; however, no differences occurred between treatments. All animals were killed at 199 days of age. At the end of the experimental period the severity of clinical signs was less (P<0.05) with all treatments compared with control. Again no differences between treatments were observed. The treatments had no effect on the number of neurons in ventral horns of the lumbar region of the spinal cord. Transgenic mice ingesting Cr displayed elevated (P<0.05) total Cr levels in cerebral hemispheres (5%) and spinal cord (8%), but not skeletal muscles. These data demonstrate that treatment with Ril and Cr were both effective in delaying disease onset and clinical disability. To the age of killing, no additional benefit was conferred by co-administration of Ril and Cr.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lafora disease is a progressive myoclonus epilepsy with polyglucosan accumulations and a peculiar neurodegeneration with generalised organellar disintegration. It causes severe seizures, leading to dementia and eventually death in early adulthood. METHODS One Lafora disease gene, EPM2A, has been identified on chromosome 6q24. Locus heterogeneity led us to search for a second gene using a genome wide linkage scan in French-Canadian families. RESULTS We mapped a second Lafora disease locus, EPM2B, to a 2.2 Mb region at 6p22, a region known to code for several proteins, including kinesins. Kinesins are microtubule dependent motor proteins that are involved in transporting cellular components. In neurones, they play a major role in axonal and dendritic transport. CONCLUSION Analysis of the present locus in other non-EPM2A families will reveal whether there is further locus heterogeneity. Identification of the disease gene will be of major importance towards our understanding of the pathogenesis of Lafora disease.

Abstract
Heparan sulphate (HS) acts as a multifunctional cell regulator, with specific sulphated saccharide sequences designed for selective interactions with many proteins. Functionally, these interactions result in regulation of the protein activities, and there is growing evidence that cells can dynamically alter the structure of HS sequences that they display. HS biosynthesis involves the action of a complex set of enzymes with polymerase, epimerase and sulphotransferase (ST) activities. In higher organisms, multiple isoforms of STs decorate the nascent HS chains with specific patterns of sulphation that confer selective biological functions. The study of HSSTs in model organisms provides a valuable opportunity to examine the expression of these enzymes in relation to the structure and activities of the HS produced. Here we describe that, in mice, there are stage-specific combinations of HSST isoenzymes that underlie the synthesis of different HS species at different times in the developing brain. This differential expression of HSSTs results in the synthesis of structurally variant HS species that form functional signalling complexes with specific fibroblast growth factors and their receptors. Regulated synthesis of specific HS species could be a mechanism for the regulation of proliferation and differentiation in the developing brain. We also describe evidence that a Caenorhabditis elegans orthologue of the mammalian 2OST enzyme, called HST-2, is essential for the normal development of this nematode. Together, these studies emphasize the importance of HSSTs in the biosynthesis of functionally variant HS proteoglycans, and demonstrate the importance of these complex regulatory molecules in developmental processes.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION ALS severely affects families, who have to cope after the patient's death. There is no information on ongoing needs or concerns of families surviving the death of the ALS patient. We wished to survey these needs. METHOD We developed a written questionnaire which we distributed at a single point in time to 32 patients' families. All patients had been followed in the McMaster University ALS clinic, and had died months to years earlier from ALS. RESULTS The response rate was excellent (85%). ALS caused lasting emotional and financial hardship in families, and 37% of respondents felt they were coping poorly, sometimes years after the patient's death. This did not clearly relate to the bereavement period, nor to the physical or financial impact of the disease during life. In most cases the disease led to a strengthening of family ties. However, 15% of chief caregivers felt blamed by in-laws for contributing to the death of the patient; in these cases family ties weakened. Less than half of families were still receiving ALS information, although 75% still wished to. About two-thirds of families had ongoing questions about the disease, and a small number remained concerned that they, or their children, would develop the disease. Only a third of families were actively involved in ongoing fund-raising activities. CONCLUSIONS It is possible to survey ongoing family needs after the death of the ALS patient. ALS causes lasting impact in surviving family members. There are ongoing needs that could be met by ALS clinics, ALS organizations, and healthcare systems, and opportunities for greater involvement of family members in volunteer activities, awareness, and fundraising. Generalization across other healthcare systems, and comparison with other disease states, could be important.

Abstract
Over recent years our understanding of the functions of the heparan sulphate (HS) family of complex polysaccharides has shifted dramatically. Once seen as simply structural scaffolding in the extracellular matrix, they are now viewed as critical players in the regulatory network of cells. They are strategically located at the cell surface and in the extracellular matrix, and there has been an increasing realization that specific sequences in the HS chains are designed for selective interactions with many proteins. Functionally, these interactions result in regulation of the protein activities. It is becoming clear that HS functions as a new class of multifunctional cell regulator. There is also growing evidence that cells can dynamically alter the structure of HS sequences that they express. Here we review recent developments and describe evidence for regulated changes in the synthesis and structure of HS chains expressed during early mouse brain development. The data suggest a new concept in which dynamic changes in biosynthesis of different HS sequences create distinct cellular HS repertoires, the heparanome. Their expression, in specific spatio-temporal patterns, is likely to endow organisms with novel regulatory mechanisms for controlling the activity of specific HS-binding proteins.

Abstract
Surveys of the leaders of the UK's post-qualifying education courses for community mental health nurses have taken place, on an annual basis, for over 10 years. In this paper, findings from the survey undertaken in the 1998--99 academic year are reported. These findings include: that most course leaders do not personally engage in clinical practice; that interprofessional education takes place at a minority of course centres, and that course philosophies and aims are characterised by an emphasis on both outcomes (in terms of, for example, skills acquisition, knowledge development and the ability to engage in reflective practice), and process (adult learning).

Abstract
The heparan sulfates are a family of cell-surface and matrix polysaccharides with an incredible degree of structural diversity that are distributed widely in virtually all metazoan organisms. Recent genetic, biochemical and cell-biological studies have led to increased understanding of the biosynthetic mechanisms that produce these complex molecules, as well as their functional versatility in regulating protein activities. The dynamic expression of heparan sulfates with differing sugar sequences suggests a new concept in which the repertoire of sequences produced by a particular cell or tissue is designated its 'heparanome'. This review discusses recent developments and surveys emerging experimental strategies that hold promise for revealing the functional specificity and mechanisms of action of heparan sulfates as multifunctional cell regulators.
