[The clinicopathological features of adult thyroid tumors with DICER1 mutation]. ZHONGHUA YI XUE ZA ZHI 2024; 104:1623-1627. Abstract
A total of 37 cases of thyroid tumors with pathological features suggestive of DICER1 gene mutation were selected to detect the DICER1 gene and BRAF gene using Sanger sequencing. A total of 10 patients (27.0%) exhibited DICER1 gene mutation all of whom were female with an age of [M(Q1, Q3)] 38.0 (30.5, 47.5) years. All patients had wild-type BRAFV600E gene. The ultrasound examination showed high-low echogenic well-demarcated intra-thyroidal nodules with abundant peripheral and internal blood flow signals in the DICER1 mutated thyroid tumor. The tumor was confined within the thyroid gland, with a diameter of (3.68±1.31) cm. The pathological features are as follows: the majority of tumors are encapsulated, which mainly composed of large follicles rich in colloid and some are small and micro follicles. The nucleus is round and deeply stained or slightly light stained, small to medium-sized, with occasional nuclear grooves and a lack of nuclear pseudoinclusion bodies within the nucleus. Immunohistochemical staining shows that Ki67 proliferation index of approximately 2%-10%. All cases were followed up for 11 to 18 months, and there was no recurrences or distant metastase. This study confirmed that the DICER1 gene mutation is mutually exclusive with the BRAFV600E gene mutation. The thyroid tumor with DICER1 mutation are in big size and are more common in young females with a good prognosis. Cases with the wild-type DICER1 gene may exhibit similar morphological features, and molecular testing is recommended. If somatic DICER1 mutation is confirmed, patients should undergo germline mutation testing to rule out DICER1 syndrome in order to define whether genetic counseling is necessary.

Abstract
Thrombus age determination in fatal venous thromboembolism cases is an important task for forensic pathologists. In this study, we investigated the time-dependent expressions of formyl peptide receptor 2 (FPR2) and Annexin A1 (ANXA1) in a stasis-induced deep vein thrombosis (DVT) murine model, with the aim of obtaining useful information for thrombus age timing. A total of 75 ICR mice were randomly classified into thrombosis group and control group. In thrombosis group, a DVT model was established by ligating the inferior vena cava (IVC) of mice, and thrombosed IVCs were harvested at 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, and 21 days after modeling. In control group, IVCs without thrombosis were taken as control samples. The expressions of FPR2 and ANXA1 during thrombosis were detected using immunohistochemistry and double immunofluorescence staining. Their protein and mRNA levels in the samples were determined by Western blotting and quantitative real-time PCR. The results reveal that FPR2 was predominantly expressed by intrathrombotic neutrophils and macrophages. ANXA1 expression in the thrombi was mainly distributed in neutrophils, endothelial cells of neovessels, and fibroblastic cells. After thrombosis, the expressions of FPR2 and ANXA1 were time-dependently up-regulated. The percentage of FPR2-positive cells and the level of FPR2 protein significantly elevated at 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after IVC ligation as compared to those at 10, 14 and 21 days after ligation (p < 0.05). Moreover, the mRNA level of FPR2 were significantly higher at 5 days than that at the other post-ligation intervals (p < 0.05). Besides, the levels of ANXA1 mRNA and protein peaked at 10 and 14 days after ligation, respectively. A significant increase in the mRNA level of ANXA1 was found at 10 and 14 days as compared with that at the other post-ligation intervals (p < 0.01). Our findings suggest that FPR2 and ANXA1 are promising as useful markers for age estimation of venous thrombi.

Abstract
Eugenol (EU) has been shown to ameliorate experimental colitis due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory bioactivities. In this study, DSS-induced acute colitis was established and applied to clarify the regulation efficacy of EU on intestinal barrier impairment and macrophage polarization imbalance along with the inflammatory response. Besides, the adjusting effect of EU on macrophages was further investigated in vitro. The results confirmed that EU intervention alleviated DSS-induced colitis through methods such as restraining weight loss and colonic shortening and decreasing DAI scores. Microscopic observation manifested that EU maintained the intestinal barrier integrity in line with the mucus barrier and tight junction protection. Furthermore, EU intervention significantly suppressed the activation of TLR4/MyD88/NF-[Formula: see text]B signaling pathways and pro-inflammatory cytokines gene expressions, while enhancing the expressions of anti-inflammatory cytokines. Simultaneously, WB and FCM analyses of the CD86 and CD206 showed that EU could regulate the DSS-induced macrophage polarization imbalance. Overall, our data further elucidated the mechanism of EU's defensive effect on experimental colitis, which is relevant to the protective efficacy of intestinal barriers, inhibition of oxidative stress and excessive inflammatory response, and reprogramming of macrophage polarization. Hence, this study may facilitate a better understanding of the protective action of the EU against UC.

Abstract
Compound droplets have received increasing attention due to their applications in many several areas, including medicine and materials. Previous works mostly focused on compound droplets on planar surfaces and, as such, the effects of curved walls have not been studied thoroughly. In this paper, the influence of the properties of curved solid wall (including the shape, curvature, and contact angle) on the wetting behavior of compound droplets is explored. The axisymmetric lattice Boltzmann method, based on the conservative phase field formulation for ternary fluids, was used to numerically study the wetting and spreading of a compound droplet of the Janus type on various curved solid walls at large density ratios, focusing on whether the separation of compound droplets occurs. Several types of wall geometries were considered, including a planar wall, a concave wall with constant curvature, and a convex wall with fixed or variable curvature (specifically, a prolate or oblate spheroid). The effects of surface wettability, interfacial angles, and the density ratio (of droplet to ambient fluid) on the wetting process were also explored. In general, it was found that, under otherwise identical conditions, droplet separation tends to happen more likely on more hydrophilic walls, under larger interfacial angles (measured inside the droplet), and at larger density ratios. On convex walls, a larger radius of curvature of the surface near the droplet was found to be helpful to split the Janus droplet. On concave walls, as the radius of curvature increases from a small value, the possibility to observe droplet separation first increases and then decreases. Several phase diagrams on whether droplet separation occurs during the spreading process were produced for different kinds of walls to illustrate the influences of various factors.

Abstract
Prion diseases are a group of transmissible neurodegenerative diseases primarily caused by the conformational conversion of prion protein (PrP) from α-helix-dominant cellular prion protein (PrPC) to β-sheet-rich pathological aggregated form of PrPSc in many mammalian species. Dogs exhibit resistance to prion diseases, but the mechanism behind the phenomenon remains poorly understood. Compared with human PrP and mouse PrP, dog PrP has two unique amino acid residues, Arg177 and Asp159. Because PrPC contains a low-complexity and intrinsically disordered region in its N-terminal domain, it undergoes liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in vitro and forms protein condensates. However, little is known about whether these two unique residues modulate the formation of PrPC condensates. Here, using confocal microscopy, fluorescence recovery after photobleaching assays, thioflavin T binding assays, and transmission electron microscopy, we report that Arg177 and Asp159 from the dog PrP slow the LLPS of full-length human PrPC, shifting the equilibrium phase boundary to higher protein concentrations and inhibit amyloid formation of the human protein. In sharp contrast, His177 and Asn159 from the human PrP enhance the LLPS of full-length dog PrPC, shifting the equilibrium phase boundary to lower protein concentrations, and promote fibril formation of the canid protein. Collectively, these results demonstrate how LLPS and amyloid formation of PrP are inhibited by a single residue Arg177 or Asp159 associated with prion disease resistance, and how LLPS and fibril formation of PrP are promoted by a single residue His177 or Asn159. Therefore, Arg177/His177 and Asp159/Asn159 are key residues in modulating PrPC liquid-phase condensation.

[Clinical presentation of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma during the 2019-nCoV epidemic of Omicron variants: a single-center retrospective study]. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical presentation pattern of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) during the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pandemic over the past three years, and its relationship with 2019-nCoV infections of Omicron variants in Guangdong province. Methods: Ecological study.Patients who were newly diagnosed with acute PACG from February 2020 to January 2023 at the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University were included in the study, and their basic information was collected. Patients were divided into the 2020 group (diagnosed between February 1st, 2020 and January 31st 2021), the 2021 group (diagnosed between February 1st, 2021 and January 31st 2022), and the 2022 group (diagnosed between February 1st, 2022 and January 31st 2023). The clinical presentation pattern of newly diagnosed acute PACG was observed and compared between groups. The daily number of newly diagnosed 2019-nCoV infections in Guangdong province was obtained from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The correlation between the daily number of newly diagnosed acute PACG and that of newly diagnosed 2019-nCoV infections during the epidemic period of Omicron variants between December 2022 and January 2023 was assessed. Results: The study included 1 048 patients with newly diagnosed acute PACG, with 235 for the 2020 group, 274 for the 2021 group, and 539 for the 2022 group. Our results showed that the average weekly number of newly diagnosed acute PACG patients in 2022 [8 (5, 11)] was significantly larger than that in 2020 (4.52±1.95, P<0.05) and 2021 (5.27±2.76, P<0.05). The average weekly number increased to 22.11±20.84 between December 2022 and January 2023. The total number of newly diagnosed acute PACG patients during this period was 199, which was 36.9% (199/539) of the total number of the same year and was 6.63 and 6.42 times as many as that in the same period (December and January) of 2020 and 2021. The proportion of patients with bilateral eye involvement during this period in 2022 was significantly higher than that in 2020 and 2021 (P<0.05). Further analysis found that 88.6% (109/123) of cases had a history of 2019-nCoV infection 2 (0, 3) days before the onset of acute PACG symptoms in average. The estimated daily number of acute PACG onset increased rapidly, peaked on December 23th, 2022, and then dropped gradually. This trend was similar to that of the daily number of new 2019-nCoV infections in Guangdong province. Changes of the daily number of new 2019-nCoV infections in Guangdong province had a positive correlation with the estimated daily number of acute PACG onset (r=0.84, P<0.001). Conclusion: A dramatic increase in the clinical presentation of acute PACG was observed at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center between December 2022 and January 2023, which was the epidemic period of Omicron variants. There is a correlation between the trend of the estimated daily number of acute PACG onset and that of new 2019-nCoV infections of Omicron variants in Guangdong province, but the exact reason remains to be further studied. Abstract
The protection of open abdomen (OA) wound is a significant subject in the field of trauma surgery. The key technical challenge in the early stage of OA wound management involves promoting granulation tissue filling between intestinal segments, reducing intestinal wall abrasion, and preventing the development of enteroatmospheric fistulas (EAF). Hydrogels, characterized by their high water content and exceptional biocompatibility, serve as extracellular matrix-mimicking materials, and are extensively employed in various medical and healthcare applications. In this review, we discuss the application of hydrogel developed by natural biomaterials in OA wounds protection, taking into consideration the unique pathophysiological characteristics of the OA wounds. This review aims to provide valuable insights for the development of hydrogel materials for early-stage OA wound protection in future research.

Abstract
Open abdomen therapy is an effective method for the treatment of severe intra-abdominal infections, abdominal hypertension and other critical abdominal diseases. Bases on systematic reviews of indications, classification and staging of wounds, principles and approaches of open abdomen therapy, abdominal closure measures, and management of enteroatmospheric fistula, the Chinese expert consensus on open abdomen therapy provides 12 recommendations with evidence and specific explanations. This consensus is the first systematic work in China to elaborate on open abdomen therapy, helping clinicians to standardize this technique and improve the treatment outcomes of critical abdominal diseases. In this review, we make interpretations on key points of this consensus one by one.

Construction of ecological security pattern in Ningbo based on remote sensing ecological index and graph theory knowledge. Abstract
Constructing ecological security pattern and identifying ecological important areas are the focus of current research on regional ecological security. With Ningbo City as a case study area, we identified ecological sources by remote sensing ecological index, the ecological corridors and pinch point by circuit theory model, and the minimum spanning tree and cuts by graph theory algorithm. The results showed that there were 203 ecological sources in Ningbo, and that the main type of land cover was forest, including a small amount of paddy fields and flooded vegetation. There were 368 ecological corridors with a total length of 573.42 km, being dense in the southwest and sparse in the northeast. There were 91 ecological pinch points, which mainly distributed between coastal areas and closely related ecological sources. According to current situation, we put forward the optimization strategy with 187 primary corridors, 181 secondary corridors, 50 ecological restoration priority areas and 59 long-term ecological restoration areas. The optimization strategy combined with graph theory and circuit theory model would provide a refe-rence for the constructing of ecological security pattern.

Abstract
In this article, we propose a novel solution for nonconvex problems of multiple variables, especially for those typically solved by an alternating minimization (AM) strategy that splits the original optimization problem into a set of subproblems corresponding to each variable and then iteratively optimizes each subproblem using a fixed updating rule. However, due to the intrinsic nonconvexity of the original optimization problem, the optimization can be trapped into a spurious local minimum even when each subproblem can be optimally solved at each iteration. Meanwhile, learning-based approaches, such as deep unfolding algorithms, have gained popularity for nonconvex optimization; however, they are highly limited by the availability of labeled data and insufficient explainability. To tackle these issues, we propose a meta-learning based alternating minimization (MLAM) method that aims to minimize a part of the global losses over iterations instead of carrying minimization on each subproblem, and it tends to learn an adaptive strategy to replace the handcrafted counterpart resulting in advance on superior performance. The proposed MLAM maintains the original algorithmic principle, providing certain interpretability. We evaluate the proposed method on two representative problems, namely, bilinear inverse problem: matrix completion and nonlinear problem: Gaussian mixture models. The experimental results validate the proposed approach outperforms AM-based methods.

Abstract
Multi-view subspace clustering has attracted great attention due to its ability to explore data structure by utilizing complementary information from different views. Most of existing methods learn a sample representation coefficient matrix or an affinity graph for each single view, then the final clustering result is obtained from the spectral embedding of a consensus graph using certain traditional clustering techniques, such as k-means. However, clustering performance will be degenerated if the early fusion of partitions cannot fully exploit relationships between all samples. Different from existing methods, we propose a multi-view subspace clustering method via adaptive graph learning and late fusion alignment (AGLLFA). For each view, AGLLFA learns an affinity graph adaptively to capture the similarity relationship among samples. Moreover, a spectral embedding learning term is designed to exploit the latent feature space of different views. Furthermore, we design a late fusion alignment mechanism to generate an optimal clustering partition by fusing view-specific partitions obtained from multiple views. An alternate updating algorithm with validated convergence is developed to solve the resultant optimization problem. Extensive experiments on several benchmark datasets are conducted to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method when compared with other state-of-the-art methods. [Efficacy and safety of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in the treatment of severe aortic stenosis]. ZHONGHUA YI XUE ZA ZHI 2023; 103:1830-1835. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in the treatment of severe aortic stenosis. Methods: The clinical data of patients with severe aortic stenosis who underwent TAVR at the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region between September 2016 and September 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Changes in aortic transvalvular pressure gradients, valve orifice area, and activity tolerance of patients before and after the surgery were compared. Moreover, postoperative complications and follow-up results from 30 days to 6 years after the surgery were recorded. Results: A total of 76 patients were included in the study (50 males and 26 females), with an average age of (71.3±7.6) years, including 16 rheumatic valvular diseases, 60 senile degenerative diseases, 46 bicuspid valves and 30 tricuspid valves. The success rate of the operation was 96.1% (73/76). Compared with that before the operation, the mean aortic transvalvular pressure gradients decreased [(8.5±2.8) mmHg vs (68.5±19.2) mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa),P<0.001], but the valve orifice area increased [(1.91±0.31) cm2 vs (0.65±0.21) cm2, P<0.001]. Likewise, six-minute walking test (6MWT) showed that walking distance was longer after the surgery [(430±13) m vs (201±28) m, P<0.001]. There were 1 case of retroperitoneal hematoma, 1 case of stricture balloon dilatation after femoral artery suture concomitant with postoperative puncture site infection, 1 case of femoral artery surgical incision, 2 cases of valve-in-valve (ViV) and 5 cases of perivalvular leakage (4 cases were mild and 1 case was moderate) after the surgery, respectively. Moreover, acute left main artery occlusion during operation occurred in 1 case, ventricular rupture during operation occurred in 1 case and the patient was transferred to valve replacement surgery and finally dead, delayed coronary artery occlusion and death happened in 1 case, and all of the above-mentioned 3 cases were due to surgical failure. Postoperative pacemaker implantation due to third-degree atrioventricular block was performed in 5 cases. There were 1 case of pulmonary embolism, 1 case of transient right limb disorder, 1 case of gastrointestinal bleeding and 1 case of urethral bleeding after the surgery, respectively. The patients were followed up for (1.0±0.1) years (30 days to 6 years), and the results showed that 2 cases died, including 1 case died suddenly at home (the cause of death was unknown) and 1 case died of acute heart failure 8 months after the surgery. Chronic heart failure occurred repeatedly in 6 cases. The quality of life of other patients improved significantly. Conclusion: TAVR is effective and safe for patients with severe aortic stenosis.

Abstract
Clinical evidence suggests that a bidirectional relationship is present between sleep loss and psychiatric disorders. Both melatonin receptor agonist ramelteon (RMT) and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) exhibit antidepressant effects, while their underlying molecular mechanisms might be different. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the add-on effects and possible mechanisms of how RMT and different n-3 PUFAs modulate the melatonin receptor pathway as well as brain lipidome to ameliorate the neuropsychiatric behaviors displayed in rats under chronic sleep deprivation. Thirty-one 6-week-old male Wistar rats were divided into five groups: control (C), sleep deprivation (S), sleep deprivation treated with RMT (SR), sleep deprivation treated with RMT and eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5n-3, EPA) (SRE), and sleep deprivation treated with RMT and docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6n-3, DHA) (SRD) groups. The results reveal that RMT plus EPA alleviated depressive-like behavior when the rats were subjected to the forced swimming test, whereas RMT plus DHA alleviated anxiety-like behavior when the rats were subjected to the elevated plus maze test. The results of a western blot analysis further revealed that compared with the rats in the S group, those in the SRE and SRD groups exhibited a significantly increased expression of MT2 in the prefrontal cortex, with greater benefits observed in the SRE group. In addition, decreased BDNF and TrkB expression levels were upregulated only in the SRE group. Lipidomic analysis further revealed possible involvement of aberrant lipid metabolism and neuropsychiatric behaviors. RMT plus EPA demonstrated promise as having the effects of reversing the levels of the potential biomarkers of depressive-like behaviors. RMT plus EPA or DHA could ameliorate depressive- and anxiety-like behaviors in sleep-deprived rats through the alteration of the lipidome and MT2 receptor pathway in the brain, whereas EPA and DHA exerted a differential effect.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (ST) mainly exists in poultry and poultry related products, which are common sources of human salmonellosis. So, ST is an important zoonotic pathogen that threatens public health and safety. Eugenol has been noted for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and it is expected to develop into an antibacterial therapy in vivo. METHODS Herein, the effects of eugenol against ST infection in terms of intestinal flora, cecal tight junction, and cecal inflammation in broilers was evaluated in this study. RESULTS The results showed that oral eugenol pretreatment obviously relieved the histopathological changes and ultrastructural injury of cecum caused by ST infection. Further analysis found that eugenol lessened the number of ST in the cecum, restrained Proteobacteria and Ruminococcus, and kept the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes (F/B), improved the relative abundance of Alistipes compared to the infection control. Moreover, eugenol sustained the expression of ZO-1, claudin-1, and occluding tight junction proteins, reduced the mRNA levels of myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88), toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4) and inducible nitric oxide synthesis (iNOS), suppressed the phosphorylation of p65 and IκBα in the NF-κB signaling pathway, as well as the mRNA levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-2, and IL-18 in the cecum tissue. CONCLUSION Taken together, eugenol could protect broilers against ST infection via maintaining intestinal flora, tight junctions involved in mucosal barrier function, then accordingly limiting the excessive inflammation, finally contributed to improving relative weight gains and survival rates of broilers.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of anti-IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) in the treatment of allergic united airway disease (UAD) in the real-wold. Methods: Retrospective cohort study summarizes the case data of patients with allergic united airway disease who were treated with anti IgE monoclonal antibody (omalizumab) for more than 16 weeks from March 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022 in the Peking University First Hospital.The allergic UAD is defined as allergic asthma combined with allergic rhinitis (AA+AR) or allergic asthma combined with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps (AA+CRSwNP) or allergic asthma combined with allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps (AA+AR+CRSwNP). The control of asthma was evaluated by asthma control test (ACT), lung function test and fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO). The AR was assessed by total nasal symptom score (TNSS). The CRSwNP was evaluated by nasal visual analogue scale (n-VAS), sino-nasal outcome test-22 (SNOT-22), nasal polyps score (TPS) and Lund-Mackay sinus CT grading system. The global evaluation of omalizumab for the treatment of allergic UADwas performed by Global Evaluation of Treatment Effectiveness(GETE).The drug-related side effects were also recorded. Matched t test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to compare the score changes of IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) before and after treatment, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the influencing factors of IgE monoclonal antibody (omazumab) response. Results: A total of 117 patients with UAD were enrolled, ranging in age from 19 to 77 years; The median age of patients was 48.7 years; Among them, 60 were male, ranging from 19 to 77 years old, with a median age of 49.9 years; There were 57 females, ranging from 19 to 68 years old, with a median age of 47.2 years. There were 32 cases in AA+AR subgroup, 59 cases in AA+CRSwNP subgroup, and 26 cases in AA+AR+CRSwNP subgroup. The total serum IgE level was 190.5 (103.8,391.3) IU/ml. The treatment course of anti IgE monoclonal antibody was 24 (16, 32) weeks. Compared with pre-treatment, omalizumab increased ACT from 20.0 (19.5,22.0) to 24.0 (23.0,25.0) (Z=-8.537, P<0.001), increased pre-bronchodilator FEV1 from 90.2 (74.8,103.0)% predicted value to 95.4 (83.2,106.0)% predicted value (Z=-5.315,P<0.001), increased FEV1/FVC from 80.20 (66.83,88.38)% to 82.72 (71.26,92.25)% (Z=-4.483,P<0.001), decreased FeNO from(49.1±24.8) ppb to (32.8±24.4) ppb (t=5.235, P<0.001), decreased TNSS from (6.5±2.6)to (2.4±1.9) (t=14.171, P<0.001), decreased n-VAS from (6.8±1.2) to (3.4±2.0)(t=14.448, P<0.001), decreased SNOT-22 from (40.0±7.9) to (21.3±10.2)(t=15.360, P<0.001), decreased TPS from (4.1±0.8) to (2.4±1.0)(t=14.718, P<0.001) and decreased Lund-Mackay CT score from (6.0±1.3) to (3.1±1.6)(t=17.012, P<0.001). The global response rate to omalizumab was 67.5%(79/117). The response rate in AA+AR (90.6%,29/32) was significantly higher than that in AA+CRSwNP (61.0%,36/59) and AA+AR+CRSwNP (53.8%,14/26) subgroups (χ2=11.144,P=0.004). Only 4 patients (3.4%,4/117) had mild side effects. Conclusion: The real-world study showed favorable effectiveness and safety of anti-IgE monoclonal antibody for treatment of allergic UAD. To provide basis for preventing the progress and precise treatment of allergic UAD.

Abstract
Inadequate bioavailability is one of the most critical reasons for the failure of oral drug development. However, the way that substructures affect bioavailability remains largely unknown. Serotonin transporter (SERT) inhibitors are first-line drugs for major depression disorder, and improving their bioavailability may be able to decrease side-effects by reducing daily dose. Thus, it is an excellent model to probe the relationship between substructures and bioavailability. Here, we proposed the concept of "nonbioavailable substructures", referring to substructures that are unfavorable to bioavailability. A machine learning model was developed to identify nonbioavailable substructures based on their molecular properties and shows the accuracy of 83.5%. A more potent SERT inhibitor DH4 was discovered with a bioavailability of 83.28% in rats by replacing the nonbioavailable substructure of approved drug vilazodone. DH4 exhibits promising anti-depression efficacy in animal experiments. The concept of nonbioavailable substructures may open up a new venue for the improvement of drug bioavailability.

Abstract
Hebius sauteri (Boulenger, 1909) has been long recognized as a widely distributed species with three subspecies, namely Hebius sauteri sauteri from Taiwan Island and southeastern China, Hebius sauteri bourreti (Malnate, 1962) from northern Vietnam, and Hebius sauteri maximus (Malnate, 1962) from Sichuan, southwestern China. However, the validity of these subspecies of the H. sauteri complex has not been evaluated. In the current study, we re-evaluate the taxonomic status of H. s. maximus based on morphological and molecular evidence. Molecular phylogenetic results indicate that H. s. maximus is a distantly diverged clade with respect to H. s. sauteri, and that H. s. maximus is morphologically distinguishable from the nominative subspecies. Therefore, our results support the validity of H. s. maximus and we elevate it to full species status, namely Hebius maximuscomb. nov. The distribution range of H. sauteri is revised according to our proposed taxonomic change. Furthermore, detailed redescription, natural history, and coloration of both H. sauteri and H. maximus and comments on the validity of H. s. bourreti are also provided.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize the clinical data of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) treated with omalizumab in Peking University First Hospital and reviewed the relative literatures. Methods: We analyzed retrospectively the clinical data of three cases of AERD treated with omalizumab in Peking University First Hospital from March 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021. The clinical researches on the treatment of AERD with omalizumab up to January 31, 2022 were retrieved in PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data. Results: Our three patients of AERD treated with omalizumab for 32 to 68 weeks obtained relief of symptoms of upper and lower respiratory tract, improvement in lung function, and reduction in percentage of blood eosinophils. There were 14 clinical studies on treatment of AERD with omalizumab, including 3 randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled studies and 11 self-controlled case series studies. The majority of studies showed that omalizumab contributed to improve the symptoms of AERD, decrease the frequency of asthma attacks and reduce systemic glucocorticoid use. Conclusion: Omalizumab can improve the disease control of AERD, but further studies are needed.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy, safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of rush immunotherapy (RIT) and conventional immunotherapy (CIT) in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR), so as to evaluate the clinical significance of CIT and preliminarily explore its economic value. Methods: A study was conducted on 72 AR patients who had received specific immunotherapy from Oct 2019 to Jun 2020 in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, including 39 males and 33 females, aging 8 to 60 years. RIT or CIT was performed respectively according to the patients' wishes. There were 35 cases in the RIT group and 37 cases in the CIT group, all subjects were followed up for 1 year. Visual analysis scale (VAS) and effectiveness were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy. Systemic adverse reactions were used to assess safety. Failure rate was calculated to evaluate the compliance. The cost and cost-effectiveness ratio (CER) were conducted to evaluate the health economics preliminarily. Results: After half a year and one year's treatment, both RIT and CIT groups had significant clinical efficacy and RIT group had more significant clinical efficacy than CIT group at half a year (76.67% vs 46.67%, χ2=7.37, P=0.007). During the dose accumulation phase, there was no significant difference in the incidence of systemic adverse reactions between the two groups (8.57% vs 8.10%, χ2=0.05, P=0.943), while the drop-out rate in the RIT group was significantly lower than that in the CIT group (0 vs 13.51%, χ2=5.08, P=0.024). After one year, the costs in RIT group were significantly higher ((8 163.08±452.67) yuan vs (7 385.87±369.92) yuan, t=-2.78, P=0.009), while there was no statistical differences in CER between the two groups ((3 298.06±1 374.09) yuan/point vs (3 154.38±1 532.51) yuan/point, t=-0.36, P=0.418). Conclusions: Both RIT and CIT are beneficial for AR, and they have similar clinical efficacy, safety, and CER. RIT is more effective in the early stage, with higher patient compliance. Thus, RIT is worth promoting and exploring in clinic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The present study aimed to explore the relationship between serum anion gap (AG) and long-term mortality in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). METHODS Clinical variables were extracted among patients undergoing CABG from Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC III) database. The primary outcome was 4-year mortality following CABG. An optimal cut-off value of AG was determined by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The Kaplan-Meier (K-M) analysis and multivariate Cox hazard analysis were performed to investigate the prognostic value of AG in long-term mortality after CABG. To eliminate the bias between different groups, propensity score matching (PSM) was conducted to validate the findings. RESULTS The optimal cut-off value of AG was 17.00 mmol/L. Then a total of 3162 eligible patients enrolled in this study were divided into a high AG group (≥17.00, n = 1022) and a low AG group (<17.00, n = 2,140). A lower survival rate was identified in the high AG group based on the K-M curve (p < .001). Compared with patients in the low AG group, patients in the high AG group had an increased risk of long-term mortality [1-year mortality: hazard ratio, HR: 2.309, 95% CI (1.672-3.187), p < .001; 2-year mortality: HR: 1.813, 95% CI (1.401-2.346), p < .001; 3- year mortality: HR: 1.667, 95% CI (1.341-2.097), p < .001; 4-year mortality: HR: 1.710, 95% CI (1.401-2.087), p < .001] according to multivariate Cox hazard analysis. And further validation of above results was consistent in the matched cohort after PSM. CONCLUSIONS The AG is an independent predictive factor for long-term all-cause mortality in patients following CABG, where a high AG value is associated with an increased mortality.

Abstract
The characteristic of ulcerative colitis (UC) is extensive colonic mucosal inflammation. Moringa oleifera (M. oleifera) is a medicine food homology plant, and the polysaccharide from M. oleifera leaves (MOLP) exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. The aim of this study to investigate the potential effect of MOLP on UC in a mouse model as well as the underlying mechanism. Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) 4% in drinking water was given for 7 days to mice with UC, at the same time, MOLP (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg/day) was intragastric administered once daily during the experiment. Structural analysis revealed that MOLP had an average molecular weight (Mw) of 182,989 kDa and consisted of fucose, arabinose, rhamnose, galactose, glucose, xylose, mannose, galactose uronic acid, glucuronic acid, glucose uronic acid and mannose uronic acid, with a percentage ratio of 1.64, 18.81, 12.04, 25.90, 17.57, 12.01, 3.51, 5.28, 0.55, 1.27, and 1.43%, respectively. In addition, the features of MOLP were identified by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) and spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that MOLP exhibited protective efficacy against UC by alleviating colonic pathological alterations, decreasing goblet cells, crypt destruction, and infiltration of inflammatory cells caused by DSS. Furthermore, MOLP notably repressed the loss of zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) and occludin proteins in mucosal layer, as well as up-regulating the mRNA expression of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ), whereas down-regulating the activation of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MyD88), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Therefore, these results will help understand the protective action procedure of MOLP against UC, thereby providing significance for the development of MOLP.

Abstract
This study uses an input-output model to analyze the wastewater, waste gas, and solid waste emissions in Guangdong’s industrial exports from 2004 to 2015; the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the factors influencing such pollution. The results reveal that embodied emissions of waste gas and solid waste in Guangdong’s export trade are increasing, while the increase in wastewater emissions is not apparent. The Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) is used to analyze the influencing factors of pollution, specifically, the structural, scale, and technical effects. We discovered that emissions of the top five industries account for about 80% of total emissions and the wastewater emissions’ technical effect has more impact; however, it is difficult for this technical effect in terms of embodied waste gas and solid waste to offset the scale and structural effects’ impacts. Moreover, the trends and factors influencing various industries’ pollution emissions differ. This study proposes that when the government carries out environmental pollution control measures, they should consider the embodied pollution caused by products from foreign trade and focus on treating industries with severe pollution. Simultaneously, the pollution controlling measures of different industries should also vary.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics, prognostic risk factors and effective treatment of severe hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS) in children, so as to provide reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Methods: The clinical data of 83 children with severe HPS admitted in Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2014 to April 2021 were collected, and their clinical characteristics, prognosis and prognostic risk factors were analyzed. The children were divided into central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction group and non-CNS dysfunction group according to whether they were accompanied with CNS dysfunction, and were divided into blood purification group and non-blood purification group according to whether they received blood purification, then the survival differences were compared. Results: Among the 83 children, there were 43 males and 40 females, aged[M(Q1,Q3)] 36(15,27)months. A total of 51 children were induced by infection, among which 41 children (80.4%) were infected with EB virus. All the children were accompanied by multiple organ dysfunction (MODS), and dysfunction of the blood system (72.3%), liver (71.1%), respiratory system (53.0%) and CNS (37.3%) were common. By the end of follow-up, 40 cases (48.2%) survived, 38 cases (45.8%) died, and 5 cases (6.0%) were lost to follow-up. CNS dysfunction was a risk factor (HR=3.358, 95%CI: 1.445-7.803, P=0.005) and blood purification was a protective factor (HR=0.362, 95%CI: 0.179-0.730, P=0.005) affecting the prognosis of children. The mortality of CNS dysfunction group was statistically higher than that of non-CNS dysfunction group (74.2% vs 28.8%) (P<0.001); The mortality of blood purification group was statistically lower than that of non-blood purification group (31.0% vs 61.0%) (P=0.010). Conclusions: Severe HPS in children was dangerous and had a poor overall prognosis. CNS dysfunction was a risk factor for death. Blood purification could significantly improve the prognosis and improve the survival rate of children.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the epidemiology, characteristics and risk factors of functional constipation (FC) in children aged 0-4 years in Xi'an. Methods: From October, 2020 to June, 2021, a prevalence survey was conducted among 2 615 children aged 0-4 years in Xi'an by group sampling. The related factors of FC were investigated by questionnaire designed based on Rome Ⅳ diagnostic criteria.The children were divided into FC group and non-FC group. The prevalence, symptoms and signs of FC were analyzed, and its risk factors were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression. Results: A total of 2 985 valid questionnaires were handed out, and 2 711 (90.8%) were received back. A total of 2 615 questionnaires were valid, with an effective rate of 96.5%. There were 1 338 males (51.2%) and 1 277 females (48.8%). There were 260 cases in FC group and 2 355 cases in non-FC group. The prevalence of FC in children aged 0-4 years in Xi 'an was 10.6%.There were significant differences in FC prevalence among children of different ages and sex (χ2=14.58,4.39, both P<0.05), but not in urban or rural residence (χ2=3.29, P=0.070). The main symptoms of FC group in the last month were large-diameter feces (73.5%, 191/260), painful defecation or dry and hard defecation (65.8%, 171/260). In the last month, FC group had higher incidences of the Bristol type 1, 2 and 3 stool, fecal retention, prolonged defecation, abdominal pain and incomplete defecation compared with non-FC group, with statistical significance (all P<0.05). Parental history of childhood constipation (OR=2.13, 95%CI 1.55-2.92), fever in the last month (OR=1.86, 95%CI 1.32-2.63), history of constipation (OR=3.24, 95%CI 2.46-4.26) and taking probiotics in the last month (OR=1.45, 95%CI 1.11-1.91) were risk factors of FC in children aged 0-4 years. Stratified with age, the results showed that complementary feeding earlier than 5 months of age or later than 6 months of age (OR=2.42, 95%CI 1.13-5.20), dry stools during the complementary feeding (OR=11.27, 95%CI 5.15-24.66), history of constipation (OR=2.29, 95%CI 1.23-4.29) and taking probiotics in the last month (OR=1.88, 95%CI 1.10-3.23) were risk factors of FC in children aged 0-<1 year, and breastfeeding (OR=0.53, 95%CI 0.29-0.94) was a protective factor of FC in children aged 0-<1 year. Family members' recent constipation history (OR=2.02, 95%CI 1.06-3.85) and past history of constipation (OR=3.06, 95%CI 1.74-5.38) were FC risk factors for children aged 1-<2 years. Parental history of childhood constipation (OR=3.12, 95%CI 2.00-4.85), frequency of eating vegetables less than 3 times per week (OR=3.28, 95%CI 2.00-5.38), history of constipation (OR=3.66, 95%CI 2.42-5.53) and taking antibiotics in the last month (OR=1.65, 95%CI 1.06-2.55) were risk factors for FC in children aged 2-4 years. Conclusions: FC in children aged 0-4 years in Xi'an is mainly manifested with large-diameter feces and painful defecation or dry and hard defecation in the last month. It is associated with a variety of risk factors, which are different in different age groups.

Abstract
In this paper, we focus on X-ray images (X-radiographs) of paintings with concealed sub-surface designs (e.g., deriving from reuse of the painting support or revision of a composition by the artist), which therefore include contributions from both the surface painting and the concealed features. In particular, we propose a self-supervised deep learning-based image separation approach that can be applied to the X-ray images from such paintings to separate them into two hypothetical X-ray images. One of these reconstructed images is related to the X-ray image of the concealed painting, while the second one contains only information related to the X-ray image of the visible painting. The proposed separation network consists of two components: the analysis and the synthesis sub-networks. The analysis sub-network is based on learned coupled iterative shrinkage thresholding algorithms (LCISTA) designed using algorithm unrolling techniques, and the synthesis sub-network consists of several linear mappings. The learning algorithm operates in a totally self-supervised fashion without requiring a sample set that contains both the mixed X-ray images and the separated ones. The proposed method is demonstrated on a real painting with concealed content, Do na Isabel de Porcel by Francisco de Goya, to show its effectiveness.

Abstract
Image denoising aims to restore a clean image from an observed noisy one. Model-based image denoising approaches can achieve good generalization ability over different noise levels and are with high interpretability. Learning-based approaches are able to achieve better results, but usually with weaker generalization ability and interpretability. In this paper, we propose a wavelet-inspired invertible network (WINNet) to combine the merits of the wavelet-based approaches and learning-based approaches. The proposed WINNet consists of K -scale of lifting inspired invertible neural networks (LINNs) and sparsity-driven denoising networks together with a noise estimation network. The network architecture of LINNs is inspired by the lifting scheme in wavelets. LINNs are used to learn a non-linear redundant transform with perfect reconstruction property to facilitate noise removal. The denoising network implements a sparse coding process for denoising. The noise estimation network estimates the noise level from the input image which will be used to adaptively adjust the soft-thresholds in LINNs. The forward transform of LINNs produces a redundant multi-scale representation for denoising. The denoised image is reconstructed using the inverse transform of LINNs with the denoised detail channels and the original coarse channel. The simulation results show that the proposed WINNet method is highly interpretable and has strong generalization ability to unseen noise levels. It also achieves competitive results in the non-blind/blind image denoising and in image deblurring.

Abstract
We established and validated a sensitive multi-residue analytical method for identifying benzophenone (BP) and nine BP derivatives (2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone [BP-1], 2,2′,4,4′-tetrahydroxydroxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy benzophenone, 2,2′-dihydroxy 4-methoxy benzophenone, 2-hydroxybenzophenone [2-OHBP], 4-hydroxybenzophenone, 4-methylbenzophenone [4-MBP], methyl-2-benzoylbenzoate, and 4-benzoylbiphenyl). Solid−liquid extraction pretreatment and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography−tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC−MS/MS) were employed in an analysis of 85 packaged cereal-based food samples (25 pastry, 50 rice, and 10 noodle samples). The method had satisfactory linearity (R2 ≥ 0.995), low limits of detection (pastry: 0.02−4.2 ng/g; rice and noodle: 0.02−2 ng/g), and favorable precision, with within-run and between-run coefficient of variation ranges of 1−29% and 1−28%, respectively. BP and 4-MBP were detected in 100% of the pastry samples, and BP-1 and 2-OHBP were found in 76% and 56% of the pastry samples, respectively. BP and 2-OHBP were found in 92% and 38% of the rice samples, respectively. BP was found in 50% of the noodle samples. BP contributed the most to the total level of BPs in pastries, with significantly higher mean ± standard deviation (range) levels for pastries (26.8 ± 32.6 [1.8−115.4] ng/g) than rice (1.2 ± 2.0 [0.4−13.4] ng/g) and noodles (0.7 ± 0.7 [0.4−1.9] ng/g); p < 0.0001). The trace levels of 4-MBP identified in the samples demonstrate the need for the development of analytical methods with high sensitivity and specificity; the proposed method satisfies this need.

Abstract
This paper reported a case of severe Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia. The patient had a clear history of contact with sick poultry. The clinical manifestations were dry cough, fever and respiratory failure. Chest CT showed consolidation in the lower lobe of the right lung, and a small amount of exudative ground-glass opacity in the left lung. Chlamydia psittaci was detected in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) by metagenomic assay. After treatment with antibiotics such as nitroimidazoles and carbapenems, the patient was discharged with a better health condition.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate and monitor the occupational hazards in the Teaching and Research Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the place) of a university, so as to provide basis for the occupational health work in the university. Methods: November 2014, 46 places in a university were selected by stratified random sampling, and the occupational health risk factors were investigated. Results: Indoor temperature, humidity, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide were detected in 21 sites, xylene and hydrofluoric acid were detected in 6 sites, and colony count was detected in 18 sites, the power frequency electric field intensity was measured in 23 places, and the x-ray radiation dose was measured in 4 places. Noise was measured at 21 sites, with 7 sites exceeding the standards accounting for 33.3% (7/21) ; 21 sites were detected for illumination and 10 sites for nonconformity accounting for 47.6% (10/21) ; 10 sites for Microwave Radiation and 3 sites exceeding the standards accounting for 30% (3/10) ; and 25 sites were detected for outdoor air volume and air velocity, the percentage of unqualified was 72% (18/25) in 18 sites, among which the wind velocity was statistically significant in teaching, research and experimental sites (P=0.010) . Conclusion: The occupational hazards in the teaching and research places of a university should be paid attention to, and the engineering protection and personal protection should be strengthened in the experiment.

Abstract
A fast, robust, and sensitive analytical method was developed and validated for the simultaneous identification of benzophenone (BP) and nine BP analogs (BP-1, BP-2, BP-3, BP-8, 2-hydroxybenzophenone, 4-hydroxybenzophenone, 4-methylbenzophenone [4-MBP], methyl-2-benzoylbenzoate, and 4-benzoylbiphenyl) in 25 samples of rice cereal. Fast pesticide extraction (FaPEx) coupled with ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry was applied. The developed method exhibited satisfactory linearity (r > 0.997), favorable recoveries between 71% and 119%, and a limit of detection ranging from 0.001 to 0.5 ng/g. The detection frequencies of BP, 4-MBP, and BP-3 were 100%, 88%, and 52%, respectively. BP had higher geometric levels, with a mean of 39.8 (19.1–108.9) ng/g, and 4-MBP had low levels, with a mean of 1.9 (1.3–3.3) ng/g. The method can be applied to routine rice cereal analysis at the nanogram-per-gram level. For infants aged 0–3 years, the hazard quotients of BP and 4-MBP were lower than one, and the margin of exposure for BP was higher than 10,000, suggesting that rice cereal consumption poses no health concern for Taiwanese infants.

Abstract
Intelligent video summarization algorithms allow to quickly convey the most relevant information in videos through the identification of the most essential and explanatory content while removing redundant video frames. In this paper, we introduce the 3DST-UNet-RL framework for video summarization. A 3D spatio-temporal U-Net is used to efficiently encode spatio-temporal information of the input videos for downstream reinforcement learning (RL). An RL agent learns from spatio-temporal latent scores and predicts actions for keeping or rejecting a video frame in a video summary. We investigate if real/inflated 3D spatio-temporal CNN features are better suited to learn representations from videos than commonly used 2D image features. Our framework can operate in both, a fully unsupervised mode and a supervised training mode. We analyse the impact of prescribed summary lengths and show experimental evidence for the effectiveness of 3DST-UNet-RL on two commonly used general video summarization benchmarks. We also applied our method on a medical video summarization task. The proposed video summarization method has the potential to save storage costs of ultrasound screening videos as well as to increase efficiency when browsing patient video data during retrospective analysis or audit without loosing essential information.

Abstract
Background: The mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) signaling has served as a promising target for therapeutic intervention of major depressive disorder (MDD), but the mTORC1 signaling underlying MDD has not been well elucidated. In the present study, we investigated whether mTORC1 signaling pathway mediates synapse loss induced by chronic stress in the hippocampus. Methods: Chronic restraint stress-induced depression-like behaviors were tested by behavior tests (sucrose preference test, forced swim test and tail suspension test). Synaptic proteins and alternations of phosphorylation levels of mTORC1 signaling-associated molecules were measured using Western blotting. In addition, mRNA changes of immediate early genes (IEGs) and glutamate receptors were measured by RT-PCR. Rapamycin was used to explore the role of mTORC1 signaling in the antidepressant effects of fluoxetine. Results: After successfully establishing the chronic restraint stress paradigm, we observed that the mRNA levels of some IEGs were significantly changed, indicating the activation of neurons and protein synthesis alterations. Then, there was a significant downregulation of glutamate receptors and postsynaptic density protein 95 at protein and mRNA levels. Additionally, synaptic fractionation assay revealed that chronic stress induced synapse loss in the dorsal and ventral hippocampus. Furthermore, these effects were associated with the mTORC1 signaling pathway-mediated protein synthesis, and subsequently the phosphorylation of associated downstream signaling targets was reduced after chronic stress. Finally, we found that intracerebroventricular infusion of rapamycin simulated depression-like behavior and also blocked the antidepressant effects of fluoxetine. Conclusion: Overall, our study suggests that mTORC1 signaling pathway plays a critical role in mediating synapse loss induced by chronic stress, and has part in the behavioral effects of antidepressant treatment.

Abstract
Unfavorable bioavailability is an important aspect underlying the failure of drug candidates. Computational approaches for evaluating drug-likeness can minimize these risks. Over the past decades, computational approaches for evaluating drug-likeness have sped up the process of drug development and were also quickly derived to pesticide-likeness. As a result of many critical differences between drugs and pesticides, many kinds of methods for drug-likeness cannot be used for pesticide-likeness. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehensively compare and analyze the differences between drug-likeness and pesticide-likeness, which may provide a basis for solving the problems encountered during the evaluation of pesticide-likeness. Here, we systematically collected the recent advances of drug-likeness and pesticide-likeness and compared their characteristics. We also evaluated the current lack of studies on pesticide-likeness, the molecular descriptors and parameters adopted, the pesticide-likeness model on pesticide target organisms, and comprehensive analysis tools. This work may guide researchers to use appropriate methods for developing pesticide-likeness models. It may also aid non-specialists to understand some important concepts in drug-likeness and pesticide-likeness.

Abstract
Food loss due to pathogens is a major concern in agriculture, requiring the need for advanced disease detection and prevention measures to minimize pathogen damage to plants. Novel bioinformatic tools have opened doors for the low-cost rapid identification of pathogens and prevention of disease. The number of these tools is growing fast and a comprehensive and comparative summary of these resources is currently lacking. Here, we review all current bioinformatic tools used to identify the mechanisms of pathogen pathogenicity, plant resistance protein identification, and the detection and treatment of plant disease. We compare functionality, data volume, data sources, performance, and applicability of all tools to provide a comprehensive toolbox for researchers in plant disease management.

Abstract
Climate change agitates interactions between organisms and the environment and forces them to adapt, migrate, get replaced by others, or extinct. Marine environments are extremely sensitive to climate change that influences their ecological functions and microbial community including fungi. Fungi from marine habitats are engaged and adapted to perform diverse ecological functions in marine environments. Several studies focus on how complex interactions with the surrounding environment affect fungal evolution and their adaptation. However, a review addressing the adaptation of marine fungi to climate change is still lacking. Here we have discussed the adaptations of fungi in the marine environment with an example of Hortaea werneckii and Aspergillus terreus which may help to reduce the risk of climate change impacts on marine environments and organisms. We address the ecology and evolution of marine fungi and the effects of climate change on them to explain the adaptation mechanism. A review of marine fungal adaptations will show widespread effects on evolutionary biology and the mechanism responsible for it.

Abstract
Objective: To establish an index system of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening, and provide reference to determine the screening coverage appropriately. Methods: The literature review and brain storming sessions were used to develop the basic frame and index system of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening. Based on Delphi method and Analytic Hierarchy Process, 21 domestic experts were selected for two rounds of consultation to determine the index system of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening and its weight. Results: The positive indexes of experts in two rounds of consultations were both 100%. The experts' authority coefficients (Cr) were 0.88±0.08 and 0.89±0.07, respectively. And the range of coefficient of variation (CV) were (0.08, 0.24), (0.09, 0.25). The Kendall's W coordination coefficients were 0.34 and 0.22 respectively, which were statistically significant. The index system of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening was established, which had 4 first-level indexes, 11 second-level indexes and 58 third-level indexes. Besides, the weight of each index was determined. Conclusion: The index system of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening has been established, which can provide scientific reference for the health administration to determine the coverage of population based SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening when local COVID-19 epidemic occurs.

Abstract
Intestinal organoids, also named "mini-guts", reconstitute sophisticated three-dimensional architecture recapitulating diversified intestinal epithelial cell types and physiology, which is driven by the proliferative and self-assembling characteristics of crypt stem cells. The initiation of organoids study relies on the identification of Lgr5+ crypt stem cells from different intestinal segments and the key role of EGF, Wnt, BMP/TGF-β, Notch signal pathways within the microenvironment during the cultivation process. Besides constituting polarized crypt-villus structures, these "mini-guts" exhibit various effective functions of intestinal epithelium. Since 2009 when the culture system of small intestinal organoids was established by Sato et al, intestinal organoids excel conventional intestinal models depending on genetical mutation in multiple aspects and thus have become the hotspot among the research on intestinal diseases. Combined with genomics, material science and engineering, "mini-guts" have been widely applied to the research on intestinal development, intestinal transport physiology, epithelial barrier, pathogen-host interaction and the study on cystic fibrosis, infectious diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, intestinal cancer, etc. In this review, we summarize the new insights introduced by organoid into the research on intestinal diseases, and related research advances and applications.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of anti-programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptor monoclonal antibody (MoAb) in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after treatment of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). Methods: From February 2019 to February 2020, 56 HCC patients who relapsed after TACE-TKI treatment in Department of Interventional Radiology, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University were enrolled. All patients received anti-PD-1 MoAb (sintilimab injection) and followed up every 6 weeks. According to mRECIST, the curative effect was evaluated as complete response (CR), partial response (PR), stable disease (SD) or progressive disease (PD). Objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS) and treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) were recorded. Univariate analysis by Chi-square test and binary logistic regression model was used to determine the influencing factors of DCR. The Kaplan-Meier method and Cox proportional hazard regression model were used to analyze the survival data. Results: A total of 48 patients were enrolled in this study including 42 males and 6 females, with a median age of 55 years (29-71 years). ECOG scores comprised of 0 in 24 cases, 1-2 in 24 cases. Thirty-six patients were in Child-Pugh grade A of liver function and 12 cases were grade B. The median follow-up time was 4.5 months. There were 2 patients achieved CR, 12 patients with PR and 16 with SD. ORR was 29.2%, DCR was 62.5%. The independent influencing factors of DCR was ECOG score and AFP level (P=0.031, P=0.012). Median PFS was 4.1 months (95%CI 2.7-5.4 months), and ECOG score was the independent influencing factor of PFS (P=0.042). Treatment-related adverse events were reported in 70.8% (34/48) patients. Incidence of grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ TRAEs was 22.9% (11/48). Conclusion: In patients with HCC who relapse from TACE and TKI treatment, anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody is efficacious safe especially in those with ECOG 0 score.

Abstract
The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has gained increasing popularity in incompressible viscous flow simulations, but it uses many distribution functions (far more than the flow variables) and is often memory demanding. This disadvantage was overcome by a recent approach that solves the more actual macroscopic equations obtained through Taylor series expansion analysis of the lattice Boltzmann equations [Lu et al., J. Comput. Phys. 415, 109546 (2020)JCTPAH0021-999110.1016/j.jcp.2020.109546]. The key is to keep some small additional terms (SATs) to stabilize the numerical solution of the weakly compressible Navier-Stokes equations. However, there are many SATs that complicate the implementation of their method. Based on some analyses and numerous tests, we ultimately pinpoint two essential ingredients for stable simulations: (1) suitable density (pressure) diffusion added to the continuity equation and (2) proper numerical dissipation related to the velocity divergence added to the momentum equations. Then we propose a simplified method that is not only easier to implement but noticeably faster than the original method and the LBM. It contains much simpler SATs that only involve the density (pressure) derivatives, and it requires no intermediate steps or variables. As well, it is extended for thermal flows with small temperature variations and for two-phase flows with uniform density and viscosity. Several test cases, including some two-phase problems under two-dimensional, axisymmetric, and three-dimensional geometries, are presented to demonstrate its capability. This work may help pave the way for the simplest simulation of incompressible viscous flows on collocated grids based on the artificial compressibility methodology.

Abstract
Background: The oncogenic Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) mutation was reported to be the signature genetic event in most cases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Hepassocin (HPS/FGL1) is involved in regulating lipid metabolism and the progression of several cancer types; however, the underlying mechanism of HPS/FGL1 in the KRAS mutant PDAC cells undergoing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) treatment remains unclear. Methods: We measured HPS/FGL1 protein expressions in a human pancreatic ductal epithelial (HPNE) normal pancreas cell line, a KRAS-wild-type PDAC cell line (BxPC-3), and KRAS-mutant PDAC cell lines (PANC-1, MIA PaCa-2, and SUIT-2) by Western blot methods. HEK293T cells were transiently transfected with corresponding KRAS-expressing plasmids to examine the level of HPS expression with KRAS activation. We knocked-down HPS/FGL1 using lentiviral vectors in SUIT-2 cells and measured the cell viability by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and clonogenicity assays. Furthermore, a lipidomic analysis was performed to profile changes in lipid metabolism after HPS/FGL1 knockdown. Results: We found that the HPS/FGL1 level was significantly upregulated in KRAS-mutated PDAC cells and was involved in KRAS/phosphorylated (p)-signal transduction and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling, and the knockdown of HPS/FGL1 in SUIT-2 cells decreased cell proliferation through increasing G2/M cell cycle arrest and cyclin B1 expression. In addition, the knockdown of HPS/FGL1 in SUIT-2 cells significantly increased omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and EPA production but not docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Moreover, EPA treatment in SUIT-2 cells reduced the expression of de novo lipogenic protein, acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC)-1, and decreased p-STAT3 and HPS/FGL1 expressions, resulting in the suppression of cell viability. Conclusions: Results of this study indicate that HPS is highly expressed by KRAS-mutated PDAC cells, and HPS/FGL1 plays a crucial role in altering lipid metabolism and increasing cell growth in pancreatic cancer. EPA supplements could potentially inhibit or reduce ACC-1-involved lipogenesis and HPS/FGL1-mediated cell survival in KRAS-mutated pancreatic cancer cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Herbicides, as efficient weed control measures, play a crucial role in ensuring food security. The emergence of herbicide-resistant weeds has negatively affected food security and promoted the demand for new and improved herbicides. The balance between bioavailability and the potency of a compound is one of the most pressing challenges in the development of novel ideal herbicides. Herbicide-likeness analysis is crucial for the evaluation of this balance and thus may help to address this issue. Many herbicide-likeness analysis methods have been developed to screen potential novel lead compounds. However, there remains a lack of user-friendly and integrated tools to comprehensively evaluate herbicide-likeness. RESULTS Herbicide-likeness of compounds was assessed through integrated analysis incorporating the physicochemical properties of commercial herbicides, a qualitative rule, and three quantitative scoring functions developed for evaluating herbicide-likeness. HerbiPAD (http://agroda.gzu.edu.cn:9999/ccb/database/HerbiPAD/) is a free web platform integrated with the collected database and scoring model. This platform contains 542 approved herbicides and > 29 000 physicochemical descriptors. The accuracy of HerbiPAD in distinguishing known herbicides from nonherbicides was 84.2%. In the case study, HerbiPAD evaluated 60 new compounds from seven different herbicide targets, and the accuracy of predicting better bioavailability was 83.3%. CONCLUSIONS HerbiPAD was designed to quickly and efficiently evaluate herbicide-likeness by integrating qualitative and quantitative analyses. The simple and effective interpretation of the analysis interface may help noncomputational experts understand herbicide-likeness. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
ANITA's fourth long-duration balloon flight in 2016 detected 29 cosmic-ray (CR)-like events on a background of 0.37_{-0.17}^{+0.27} anthropogenic events. CRs are mainly seen in reflection off the Antarctic ice sheets, creating a phase-inverted waveform polarity. However, four of the below-horizon CR-like events show anomalous noninverted polarity, a p=5.3×10^{-4} chance if due to background. All anomalous events are from locations near the horizon; ANITA-IV observed no steeply upcoming anomalous events similar to the two such events seen in prior flights.

Abstract
Objective: To explore whether the improvement of subjective symptoms and objective grades after endoscopic sinus surgery in patients with chronic sinusitis (CRS) are related to the degree of preoperative anxiety or depression and to provide reference for improving the effects of clinical treatment. Methods: The clinical data of one hundred and sixty patients with CRS treated by endoscopic sinus surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from April 2018 to August 2019 were collected prospectively. The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) scores, self-rating depression scale (SDS) scores, Lund-Kennedy scores of nasal endoscopy and the Lund-Mackay scores of CT before and 6 months after surgery were used to analyse the correlation between the scores of anxiety or depression and the subjective and objective scores of patients before and after operation by grouping and layering. One hundred and one males (63.1%) and 59 females (36.9%) with an average age of 47.3 years (18-75 years) were included. Single-sample, independent or paired t-test, one-way ANOVA and rank-sum test were used for comparison and Pearson correlation analysis was used for the correlation between groups. Results: There was no statistical difference of anxiety or depression between different groups in terms of age, gender and course in the 160 effective patients (t values were -0.151, -0.487, -0.846, all P values>0.05; t values were -0.473, -1.302, -1.069, all P values>0.05). And the degree of preoperative anxiety or depression was positively correlated with the subjective scores, including overall discomfort, nasal obstruction, runny nose and olfactory decline (r values were 0.515, 0.606, 0.424, 0.306, all P values<0.01; r values were: 0.518, 0.584, 0.448, 0.308, all P values<0.01), but not significantly correlated with objective scores of Lund-Mackay and Lund-Kennedy (all P value>0.05). Moreover, as far as the symptoms of overall discomfort, nasal obstruction, headache and runny nose, the results of one-way ANOVA showed that the improvement of symptoms in patients with serious anxiety or depression was worse than that of the normal, mild and moderate patients (all P values<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the scores of Lund-Kennedy 6 months after surgery between them (both P values>0.05). Conclusion: The state of anxiety or depression affects the improvement of symptoms after endoscopic sinus surgery for CRS patients. Compared with the patients with normal and mild to moderate anxiety or depression, the improvement of symptoms in patients with severe anxiety and depression is worse. It is necessary to evaluate the anxiety or depression of the patients with CRS who are going to undergo endoscopic sinus surgery.

Abstract
Pedestrian detection methods have been significantly improved with the development of deep convolutional neural networks. Nevertheless, detecting ismall-scaled pedestrians and occluded pedestrians remains a challenging problem. In this paper, we propose a pedestrian detection method with a couple-network to simultaneously address these two issues. One of the sub-networks, the gated multi-layer feature extraction sub-network, aims to adaptively generate discriminative features for pedestrian candidates in order to robustly detect pedestrians with large variations on scale. The second sub-network targets on handling the occlusion problem of pedestrian detection by using deformable regional region of interest (RoI)-pooling. We investigate two different gate units for the gated sub-network, namely, the channel-wise gate unit and the spatio-wise gate unit, which can enhance the representation ability of the regional convolutional features among the channel dimensions or across the spatial domain, repetitively. Ablation studies have validated the effectiveness of both the proposed gated multi-layer feature extraction sub-network and the deformable occlusion handling sub-network. With the coupled framework, our proposed pedestrian detector achieves promising results on both two pedestrian datasets, especially on detecting small or occluded pedestrians. On the CityPersons dataset, the proposed detector achieves the lowest missing rates (i.e. 40.78% and 34.60%) on detecting small and occluded pedestrians, surpassing the second best comparison method by 6.0% and 5.87%, respectively.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the cost effectiveness of primary prophylaxis (PP) with pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF), PP with recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) and no prophylaxis in women with early-stage breast cancer in China. Methods: Two phase Markov models were constructed for a hypothetical cohort of patients aged 45 with stage Ⅱ breast cancer. The first phase modelled costs and outcomes of 4 cycles docetaxel combined with cyclophosphamide [TC×4, febrile neutropenia (FN) risk>20%] chemotherapy, which assumptions based on literature reviews, including FN rates [base-case (deterministic sensitivity analysis range), 0.29 (0.24-0.35)] and related events [FN case-fatality, 3.4 (2.7-4.1)]. Second phase modelled the long term survival which was link with the relative dose intensity (RDI) [mortality hazard ratio (HR) of RDI < 85% vs ≥85%, 1.45 (1.00-2.32)]. Clinical effectiveness, therapeutic costs, and economic utilities were estimated from peer-reviewed publications and expert opinions in case of unavailability of published evidences. Results: Compared to rhG-CSF PP and no prophylaxis, the cost of PEG-rhG-CSF PP increased to 5 208.19 RMB and 5 222.73 RMB, respectively. The quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) enhanced to 0.066 and 0.297, respectively. Accordingly, the incremental cost effectiveness ratios (ICERs) are 79 146.3 RMB and 17 558.77 RMB per QALY, which were both below the willingness to pay (WTP) threshold of three times GDP per capita (18, 000 RMB) recommended by the WHO. Sensitivity analysis suggested that the more clinically effective the primary prophylaxis with PEG-rhG-CSF is, the more cost-effective primary prophylaxis with PEG-rhG-CSF will be. And the lower the mortality HR of RDI<85% vs ≥85% is, the more cost-effective primary prophylaxis with PEG-rhG-CSF will be. Conclusion: Although the cost of PP PEG-rhG-CSF is higher, considering the additional benefits, the administrating of PP PEG-rhG-CSF is likely to be a cost-effective alternative to PP rhG-CSF and no prophylaxis in patients with early stage breast cancer whose FN risks are more than 20% in China.

Abstract
Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation is an abiotic pathway for the transformation of complex phosphorus (P) components into inorganic P in ecosystems. To explore the effect of UV irradiation on organic P (OP) bioavailability in the water level fluctuation zone (WLFZ) soil, we collected representative soil samples from WLFZ of the Pengxi River, a tributary of the TGR, China. We determined the contents of different forms of OP in the WLFZ soil through sequential extraction. The bioavailability of different forms of OP and the effect of UV light were characterised using a combination of enzymatic hydrolysis and UV irradiation. The OP contents of the different extracts (Po) were ranked as NaOH-Po > NaHCO3-Po > H2O-Po, whereas those of enzymatically hydrolysable organic P (EHP) were ranked as NaOH-EHP > NaHCO3-EHP > H2O-EHP. UV irradiation was found to improve OP bioavailability, as demonstrated by increased levels of UV-sensitive P (UV-P) and EHP in the extracts after irradiation. The total contents of bioavailable Po in extracts were 5.6-35.3% higher after UV irradiation than before irradiation. Thus, the effect of UV irradiation on the OP bioavailability and release activity cannot be neglected in TGR WLFZ soil.
