Abstract
This joint ASGE-ESGE guideline provides an evidence-based summary and recommendations regarding the role of endoscopic bariatric and metabolic therapies (EBMTs) in the management of obesity. The document was developed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) framework. It evaluates the efficacy and safety of EBMT devices and procedures that currently have CE mark or FDA-clearance/approval, or that had been approved within five years of document development. The guideline suggests the use of EBMTs plus lifestyle modification in patients with a BMI of ≥ 30 kg/m2, or with a BMI of 27.0-29.9 kg/m2 with at least 1 obesity-related comorbidity. Furthermore, it suggests the utilization of intragastric balloons and devices for endoscopic gastric remodeling (EGR) in conjunction with lifestyle modification for this patient population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic saw an acceleration in virtual-visits (VV) for healthcare delivery. However, the impact of virtual care in metabolic/bariatric surgery (MBS) programs is not well described. METHODS Appointment data from three time-points: pre-pandemic (1/1/19-3/15/20, n = 19,290), pandemic (3/16/20-10/31/21, n = 29,459) and current-state (11/1/21-12/31/2022, n = 24,270) was retrieved in our multi-hospital ambulatory MBS program. Appointments were grouped by health care provider (HCP) (MD, dietician, and psychologist) and type (VV and in-person). Surveys assessing patient satisfaction were distributed electronically. All pre-op and post-op appointment data was analyzed for the time-points above. Appointment completion rates and patient reported preferences were described. RESULTS Our data showed an increase in scheduled VV from 0.5% for all HCP visits to 81% during the pandemic and a current VV visit of 77%. The number of completed VV increased for all HCPs, most prominently for dieticians. Parallel to this, the percentage of no-show visits also improved for all HCP, with MDs having the lowest no-show rate currently. Survey data revealed 89% of patients experience added benefits with VV and > 90% reported their VV experience as very good. VV were preferred over in-person visits for psychologists and dietitians (> 61%), but the majority preferred to see MDs in-person (70%). CONCLUSIONS Our findings reveal significant changes in healthcare utilization trends since the transition to virtual care. While overall satisfaction with virtual care is high, most patients prefer in-person visits with MDs. Thus, multi-disciplinary MBS care can be performed effectively using a hybrid model to ensure efficient distribution of resources.

Abstract
Permeable pavements are a common solution for stormwater management. Porous areas in the pavements allow water to percolate into the subsurface layers, reducing surface runoff. However, it is common for substances to clog the voids, decreasing the porous area and permeability of the pavement system. This study examined the change in permeability over time at a site with two permeable pavement systems, the JW Eco-technology (JW) and pervious concrete (PC). Square frames SF-4 and SF-9 were used to perform falling-head and constant-head permeability tests, respectively. Results show that JW had a similar permeability across the test locations, 6.27-7.64 cm/s when using SF-4, and 0.95-1.00 cm/s when using SF-9. While the permeability at the center locations of PC showed no significant loss of permeability, there was a significant reduction of permeability on the corner and edge areas, where permeability ranged 0.28-1.73 cm/s using SF-4 and 0.14-0.36 cm/s using SF-9, suggesting the occurrence of clogging over time at corner locations. Furthermore, the measured values highlighted the measurement variability in permeability between the falling-head based method and the constant-head method, with measurements from SF-4 being approximately 6.2-7.6 and 2.0-5.7 times higher than those from SF-9 on JW and PC, respectively. In addition, as no current literature quantifies the relationship between permeability and extent of clogging for the JW Eco-technology pavement, evaluation of the proportionate change in permeability with respect to voids, or individual aqueducts, of JW pavement were investigated. While not a 1:1 linear relationship, data indicate that the permeability increased with an increase in non-blocked aqueducts. The JW pavement maintained more than 50% of its capacity when half of the aqueducts were fully blocked. Even when only one aqueduct was clear from clogging, the system had 36% (SF-4) and 19% (SF-9) of maximum permeable capacity.

Abstract
The COVID‐19 pandemic has disrupted clinical nursing and midwifery education. This disruption has long‐term implications for the nursing and midwifery workforce and for future healthcare responses to pandemics. Solutions may include enhanced partnerships between schools of nursing and midwifery and health service providers and including schools of nursing and midwifery in preparedness planning. These suggestions notwithstanding, we call upon national and international nursing and midwifery bodies to study how to further the clinical education of nurses and midwives during pandemics and other times of crisis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The effects of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) on functional connectivity (FC) and associations with weight loss and eating-related cognitive control were investigated. METHODS In a longitudinal study, 14 SG patients (13 female; 42.1 presurgery BMI) completed study visits 1 month pre surgery and 12 months post surgery. Patients completed the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging scanning to measure FC. Data were analyzed using a seed-to-voxel approach in the CONN Toolbox to investigate pre-/postsurgery changes (n = 12) and to conduct predictive analysis (n = 14). RESULTS Seed-to-voxel analysis revealed changes in magnitude (decreases) and directionality (positively correlated to anticorrelated) of FC pre to post surgery within and between default mode network, salience network, and frontoparietal network nodes [Family-Wise Error (FWE) corrected at P < 0.05]. Baseline FC of the nucleus accumbens (with insula) and hypothalamus (with precentral gyrus) predicted 12-month post-SG % total weight loss (FWE-P < 0.05). Baseline FC of the hippocampus, frontoparietal network, and default mode network nodes predicted improvement in cognitive control of eating behavior 12 months after SG (FWE-P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Our findings demonstrate changes in FC magnitude and directionality post versus pre surgery within and between resting-state networks and frontal, paralimbic, and visual areas in SG patients. Baseline FC predicted weight loss and changes in cognitive control of food intake behavior at 12 months. These could serve as predictive biomarkers for bariatric surgery.

Abstract
Accurate quantification of sources of phosphorus (P) entering the environment is essential for the management of aquatic ecosystems. P fluxes from mains water leakage (MWL-P) have recently been identified as a potentially significant source of P in urbanised catchments. However, both the temporal dynamics of this flux and the potential future significance relative to P fluxes from wastewater treatment works (WWT-P) remain poorly constrained. Using the River Thames catchment in England as an exemplar, we present the first quantification of both the seasonal dynamics of current MWL-P fluxes and future flux scenarios to 2040, relative to WWT-P loads and to P loads exported from the catchment. The magnitude of the MWL-P flux shows a strong seasonal signal, with pipe burst and leakage events resulting in peak P fluxes in winter (December, January, February) that are >150% of fluxes in either spring (March, April, May) or autumn (September, October, November). We estimate that MWL-P is equivalent to up to 20% of WWT-P during peak leakage events. Winter rainfall events control temporal variation in both WWT-P and riverine P fluxes which consequently masks any signal in riverine P fluxes associated with MWL-P. The annual average ratio of MWL-P flux to WWT-P flux is predicted to increase from 15 to 38% between 2015 and 2040, associated with large increases in P removal at wastewater treatment works by 2040 relative to modest reductions in mains water leakage. However, further research is required to understand the fate of MWL-P in the environment. Future P research and management programmes should more fully consider MWL-P and its seasonal dynamics, alongside the likely impacts of this source of P on water quality.

Abstract
We designed a nanocomposite consisting of CdSe nanoplatelets dispersed in the form of short stacks in the polybutadiene domains of a polystyrene-polybutadiene-polystyrene (SBS) thermoplastic elastomer matrix. Under strain, the material displays reversible, macroscopic anisotropic properties, e.g. the fluorescence signal. We present here a structural study of the composite under stretching, by in situ high-resolution X-ray scattering using synchrotron radiation. Modelling the scattering signal allows us to monitor the evolution of both the matrix and the platelets under strain. In particular, we show that the strain "reshuffles" the platelet stacks, which tilt their long axis from parallel to the plane of the microstructure lamellae at rest to perpendicular to this plane at high strain, at the same time breaking into smaller pieces, more easily accommodated in the soft butadiene domains. This reshuffling is fully reversed after strain relaxation. Moreover, it can be prevented by adding free oleic acid, which reinforces the interactions between the platelets in the stacks.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Missed appointments decrease clinic capacity and negatively affect health outcomes. The objective of this study was to increase the proportion of filled initial psychiatry appointments in an urban, hospital-based primary care practice. METHODS Patients were identified as having a high or low risk of missing their initial psychiatry appointments based on prior missed medical appointments. High-risk patients were referred to a walk-in clinic instead of a scheduled appointment. The primary outcome was ratio of filled appointments to booked appointments. We used a statistical process control chart (p chart) to measure improvement. Secondary outcomes were percentages of patients from historically underserved groups who received an initial psychiatry evaluation before and after the intervention. RESULTS The average ratio of filled to booked initial appointments increased from 59% to 77% after the intervention, and the p chart confirmed that this change represented special cause variation. No statistically significant demographic differences between the patients who received psychiatric evaluations before and after the intervention were found. CONCLUSIONS Missed initial psychiatry appointments can be accurately predicted by prior missed medical appointments. A referral-based walk-in clinic is feasible and does not reduce access to care for historically underserved patient groups.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence and incidence of hypertension in women, and describe their self-care and health-seeking behaviours. This research was conducted as part of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health, a study comprising a nationally representative sample of Australian women in three age groups. The focus of this research is 14 099 women born in 1946-1951, who have been surveyed six times (1996-2010). Student t-tests were used to compare women who did or did not have hypertension by their health-care utilization. Longitudinal analyses were conducted using a Poisson generalized estimating equation model. The incidence of hypertension among this cohort during 1996 to 2010 ranged from 400 to 597 participants per survey, resulting in an increase in prevalence of hypertension from 20.9% in 1996 to 41.3% in 2010. For all survey periods, women with hypertension had a significantly higher average number of visits to doctors and allied health practitioners compared with women without hypertension (P<0.005). The use of complementary medicine (practitioners and self-prescribed treatments) by women with hypertension was significantly lower compared to women without hypertension (P<0.005). Over time, conventional health-care utilization was higher for women with hypertension compared with women without hypertension (adjusted RR=1.18; 95% CI: 1.14, 1.22; P<0.0001). Our findings show that women with hypertension are using a range of conventional and complementary and alternative medicine: with hypertensive women using more conventional medicine and less complementary and alternative medicine than non-hypertensive women. As such, health-care providers should communicate with their patients regarding their use of complementary and alternative medicine in their efforts to provide safe, effective and coordinate care.

Abstract
A light-induced Soret effect accompanied by photoinduced adsorption of pigment nanoparticles is described in organic solvents. We report an unexpected inversion of the nanoparticle flux which is directed along the temperarture gradient at short exposures to the light and switches against the gradient at longer exposures. This change of flux direction is due to light-induced adsorption of the nanocrystals onto the substrates of the cell.

Abstract
The availability of affordable 'recreational' camera traps has dramatically increased over the last decade. We present survey results which show that many conservation practitioners use cheaper 'recreational' units for research rather than more expensive 'professional' equipment. We present our perspective of using two popular models of 'recreational' camera trap for ecological field-based studies. The models used (for >2 years) presented us with a range of practical problems at all stages of their use including deployment, operation, and data management, which collectively crippled data collection and limited opportunities for quantification of key issues arising. Our experiences demonstrate that prospective users need to have a sufficient understanding of the limitations camera trap technology poses, dimensions we communicate here. While the merits of different camera traps will be study specific, the performance of more expensive 'professional' models may prove more cost-effective in the long-term when using camera traps for research.

Thin
polymer films have attracted attention because of both their
broad range of applications and of the fundamental questions they
raise regarding the dynamic response of confined polymers. These films
are unstable if the temperature is above their glass transition temperature Tg. Here, we describe freestanding thin films
of centimetric dimensions made of a comb copolymer melt far from its
glass transition that are stable for more than a day. These long lifetimes
allowed us to characterize the drainage dynamics and the thickness
profile of the films. Stratified regions appear as the film drains.
We have evidence that the stability, thinning dynamics, and thickness
profile of the films result from structural forces in the melt. Understanding
the key mechanisms behind our observations may lead to new developments
in polymeric thin films, foams, and emulsions without the use of stabilizing
agents.

Abstract
Block copolymers form nanostructures that have interesting physical properties because they combine, for a single compound, the complementary features brought by each block. However, in order to fully exploit these properties, the physical state of each kind of domain must be precisely controlled. In this work, triblock PS-b-PEO-b-PS copolymers consisting of a central poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) block covalently bonded to polystyrene (PS) blocks were synthesized by Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization. Their morphology was investigated by X-ray scattering and TEM experiments whereas their thermodynamic behavior was characterized by DSC. A strong decrease of both the melting temperature and the degree of crystallinity of PEO, due to its confinement between the PS domains, was observed and analyzed with a modified Gibbs-Thomson equation, following the approaches used for fluids confined in porous media. The existence of an amorphous bound layer, a few nanometers thick, at the PEO/PS interface, that does not undergo any phase transition in the temperature range investigated, accounts for both the melting temperature depression and the decrease of crystallinity upon confinement. This interfacial layer may significantly affect the mechanical and transport properties of these block copolymers that find applications as solid polymer electrolytes in batteries for example. Moreover, the value obtained for the solid PEO/liquid PEO surface tension is lower than those previously published but is thermodynamically consistent with the surface tensions of polymers at the solid/vapor and liquid/vapor interfaces.

Abstract
We present a novel approach to analyse the fracture of fibre-reinforced composites. Experimental results on mode I fracture of glass fibre and carbon fibre unidirectional laminates presented here and published by others in the open literature formed the basis for the analytical and numerical results presented. When details of the external loading rate are explicitly accounted for, a new picture of fracture emerges, which encompasses the possibility for non-smooth crack growth and the necessity to relax the use of a critical strain energy release rate as a criterion for crack advancement. Results predicted by adopting the analytical model presented here are seen to capture a wide variety of fracture responses that have been observed previously.

Abstract
The deposition of fibronectin (FN) from saline buffer-based cryogenic targets by matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE) onto silicon substrates is reported. A uniform distribution of FN was revealed by Ponceau staining after control experiments on nitrocellulose paper. Well-organized particulates with heights from hundreds of nanometers up to more than 1 μm packed in homogeneous layers were evidenced by optical microscopy and profilometry on Si substrates. Atomic force microscopy images showed regions composed of buffer and FN aggregates forming a compact film. Comparison of infrared spectra of drop-cast and MAPLE-deposited FN confirmed the preservation of composition and showed no degradation of the protein. The protein deposition on Si was confirmed by antibody staining. Small aggregates and fluorescent fibrils were visualized by fluorescence microscopy. Superior attachment of human osteoprogenitor cells cultivated for 3 h proved the presence of stable and intact FN molecules after transfer.
