Abstract
Oral papilloma, a frequently encountered benign lesion, can be managed effectively with various treatments. A unique case of oral mucosal papilloma extending from the buccal fat pad region to the corner of the mouth is presented here. Although papilloma larger than 10 mm2 are associated with a high risk of becoming cancerous and should be treated promptly, the papilloma in this case would have been difficult to resect due to involvement of the parotid duct opening and the corner of the mouth. Topical external application of 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT) was employed successfully in this case, with no recurrence at 20 months of follow-up. Therefore, ALA-PDT may represent a promising therapeutic option for challenging cases of multifocal papilloma of the oral mucosal.

Abstract
Backfat thickness is an important economic trait that affects pork quality and flavor. The Lijiang pig (LJP), a local breed in Yunnan province, China, exhibits variations in growth and body composition. However, the molecular basis for these variations is unclear. This study aimed to analyze transcriptome profiles of backfat at different growth stages in LJP with discrepant body size: two months (M2), four months, and six months. Firstly, we analyzed the gene expression differences and discovered a significantly highest number of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) at the M2 stage. Secondly, we identified four gene profiles with reverse expression trends in LJP populations with different body sizes, and the related genes mainly associated with immune response functionality. Thirdly, we observed a lower correlation in LJP with large body size at the M2 stage, with a specific enrichment of DEGs with high genetic differentiation related to neural activity. Finally, we correlated transcriptome profiles of muscle and backfat and discovered the lowest correlation at the M2 stage. Highly correlated genes exhibited more significant differences and were prominently enriched for immune response processes. This study unveils candidate genes linked to backfat growth in LJP, emphasizing the specificity of the early growth stage of backfat.

Abstract
To enhance the classification accuracy of lower limb movements, a fusion recognition model integrating a surface electromyography (sEMG)-based convolutional neural network, transformer encoder, and long short-term memory network (CNN-Transformer-LSTM, CNN-TL) was proposed in this study. By combining these advanced techniques, significant improvements in movement classification were achieved. Firstly, sEMG data were collected from 20 subjects as they performed four distinct gait movements: walking upstairs, walking downstairs, walking on a level surface, and squatting. Subsequently, the gathered sEMG data underwent preprocessing, with features extracted from both the time domain and frequency domain. These features were then used as inputs for the machine learning recognition model. Finally, based on the preprocessed sEMG data, the CNN-TL lower limb action recognition model was constructed. The performance of CNN-TL was then compared with that of the CNN, LSTM, and SVM models. The results demonstrated that the accuracy of the CNN-TL model in lower limb action recognition was 3.76%, 5.92%, and 14.92% higher than that of the CNN-LSTM, CNN, and SVM models, respectively, thereby proving its superior classification performance. An effective scheme for improving lower limb motor function in rehabilitation and assistance devices was thus provided.

Abstract
Oral leukoplakia (OLK) is the most representative oral potentially malignant disorder, with a high risk of malignant transformation and unclear mechanisms of occurrence. Recently, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has exhibited great potential in the treatment of OLK. However, the efficacy of PDT is difficult to predict and varies from person to person. Ferroptosis-related pathways are upregulated in many cancers, and ferroptosis induction is considered to be a potential synergistic strategy for various antitumor therapies, but its role in OLK treatment remains unclear. This study aimed to determine whether ferroptosis induction can enhance the efficacy of PDT in OLK treatment. Our study revealed that solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), a component of a crucial amino acid transporter and a key negative regulator of ferroptosis, was found to be highly expressed in OLK patients with no response to PDT. 5-Aminolevulinic acid (ALA)-PDT is known to cause apoptosis and necrosis, but ferroptosis also occurred under ALA-PDT in OLK cells in our study. Using erastin to induce ferroptosis enhanced the efficacy of ALA-PDT on OLK cells by disrupting the antioxidant system and further elevating intracellular reactive oxygen species levels, leading to increased apoptosis. Furthermore, this combined modality also enhanced the efficacy of ALA-PDT on 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide (4NQO)-induced OLK lesions in mice. In summary, ferroptosis induction may serve as a potential strategy to enhance the efficacy of ALA-PDT for OLK treatment.

Abstract
AIM The purpose of this study was to identify robust radiological features from intratumoral and peritumoral regions, evaluate MRI protocols, and machine learning methods for overall survival stratification of glioma patients, and explore the relationship between radiological features and the tumour microenvironment. MATERIAL AND METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 163 glioma patients, divided into a training set (n=113) and a testing set (n=50). For each patient, 2135 features were extracted from clinical MRI. Feature selection was performed using the Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance method and the Random Forest (RF) algorithm. Prognostic factors were assessed using the Cox proportional hazards model. Four machine learning models (RF, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, and XGBoost) were trained on clinical and radiological features from tumour and peritumoral regions. Model evaluations on the testing set used receiver operating characteristic curves. RESULTS Among the 163 patients, 96 had an overall survival (OS) of less than three years postsurgery, while 67 had an OS of more than three years. Univariate Cox regression in the validation set indicated that age (p=0.003) and tumour grade (p<0.001) were positively associated with the risk of death within three years postsurgery. The final predictive model incorporated 13 radiological and 7 clinical features. The RF model, combining intratumor and peritumor radiomics, achieved the best predictive performance (AUC = 0.91; ACC = 0.86), outperforming single-region models. CONCLUSION Combined intratumoral and peritumoral radiomics can improve survival prediction and have potential as a practical imaging biomarker to guide clinical decision-making.

Abstract
Sustained release microspheres loaded with goserelin are regarded as a promising candidate for treating prostate cancer and other sex hormone diseases. However, their widespread adoption has been hindered by issues such as wide particle size distribution and unstable release characteristics. To address these challenges, we employed a combination of the solid-in-oil-in-water microspheres preparation approach (S/O/W) and innovative premix membrane emulsification technology and deeply investigated the effects of four key parameters on the loaded performance of microspheres and the microscopic mechanisms behind them. With this approach, we successfully produced goserelin-loaded sustained release microspheres of narrow particle size distribution (Span 0.642), remarkable encapsulation efficiency (DL = 4.23 %, EE = 93.98 %), low initial burst release (about 0.50 % within 2 h), and compatibility with small injection needles (23-G, inner diameter 0.33 mm, outer diameter 0.64 mm, maximal force 59 N). In the animal model(administered dose, 2.4 mg·Kg-1), goserelin long-acting sustained release microspheres sustained release for over 32 days, maintaining effective concentrations above 2 ng·mL-1, and effectively reduced serum testosterone concentrations to castration levels (<1.0 ng·mL-1) by day 4, maintaining this inhibition for up to 21 days, exhibiting comparable efficacy to the positive control group. In vivo release kinetics analysis revealed that goserelin-loaded sustained release microspheres exhibited a release pattern dominated by diffusion with corrosion assistance in vivo. In summary, the systematic and comprehensive evaluation of uniform-sized goserelin-loaded sustained release microspheres has highlighted their excellent translational potential, and the study herein may provide new strategies and ideas for the development of microsphere dosage forms.

Abstract
AIM To compare the features detected by high resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI) between posterior circulation atherosclerosis and intramural hematoma (IMH)-type dissection, and to identify indicators related to cerebral ischemic events. MATERIALS AND METHODS Clinical and HR-VWI data of 55 patients with posterior circulation IMH-type dissection and 132 patients with posterior circulation atherosclerosis collected between October 2017 and October 2023 were analyzed retrospectively. Two radiologists independently extracted the imaging features. Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors independently associated with stroke. RESULTS Compared with patients with atherosclerosis, those with IMH-type dissection were younger, with a lower prevalence of diabetes and hypertriglyceridemia, lower hypertension grade, enhanced grade, remodeling index (RI), vertebrobasilar artery/brainstem ratio, and prevalence of nonsmooth surface, and higher prevalence of intraluminal thrombus (ILT), lumen (LA), wall area (WA), and total vessel area (TVA). In patients with stroke, those with IMH-type dissection were younger, with a lower prevalence of diabetes, and degree of hypertension, and higher RI, WA, TVA, and the prevalence of ILT. Multivariable logistic regression showed that RI (odds ratio [OR], 0.37; 95% CI, 0.17-0.77) and normalized wall index (NWI) (OR, 39.02; 95% CI, 2.19-695.35) were risk factors for stroke in patients with dissection, and LA (OR, 1.52; 95% CI, 1.12-2.06) and NWI (OR, 60.84; 95% CI 3.70-998.06) were risk factors for atherosclerotic stroke. CONCLUSION Patients with posterior circulation IMH-type dissection had greater potential for positive remodeling than those with atherosclerosis. The arterial remodeling capacity was closely related to stroke risk.

Abstract
PURPOSE While serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) deficiency is prevalent in chronic kidney disease (CKD), the effects of 25(OH)D deficiency on cardiovascular mortality and kidney outcomes in patients with early-stage CKD remain incompletely understood. METHODS This multicenter retrospective cohort study included adult patients with stages 1-3 CKD from 19 medical centers across China between January 2000 and May 2021. The primary outcome was cardiovascular mortality. The secondary study outcome included CKD progression (defined as a sustained > 40% eGFR decrease from baseline or progress to end-stage kidney disease), and annual percentage change of eGFR. RESULTS Of 9229 adults with stages 1-3 CKD, 27.0% and 38.9% had severe (< 10 ng/mL) and moderate (10 to < 20 ng/mL) serum 25(OH)D deficiency, respectively. Compared with patients having 25(OH)D ≥ 20 ng/mL, a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 1.90, 95% CI 1.37-2.63), CKD progression (HR 2.20, 95% CI 1.68-2.88), and a steeper annual decline in eGFR (estimate - 7.87%; 95% CI - 10.24% to - 5.51% per year) was found in those with serum 25(OH)D < 10 ng/mL. Similar results were obtained in subgroups and by sensitivity analyses. CONCLUSIONS 25(OH)D deficiency is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular mortality and CKD progression in patients with early-stage CKD. Studies are needed to determine whether early intervention for 25(OH)D deficiency could improve the prognosis of patients with early-stage CKD.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate myocardial microcirculation perfusion with myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE) in patients with acute myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and to explore the prognostic value of different types of myocardial microcirculation perfusion. Methods: This is a prospective cohort study. Patients with acute myocardial infarction who underwent successful PCI in Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University and Kanghua Hospital of Dongguan City from October 2019 to June 2021 were selected. All the enrolled patients completed MCE examination within 72 hours after PCI. According to the examination results, the patients were divided into normal microcirculation perfusion group, delayed microcirculation perfusion group, and blocked microcirculation perfusion group. Adverse cardiovascular events including all-cause death, cardiovascular death, and angina re-hospitalization were followed up, and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) review results were collected at six months to one year after surgery. Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used to investigate the difference in the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events in different myocardial perfusion groups, and Cox regression analysis was used to evaluate the effect of myocardial perfusion on adverse cardiovascular events. Results: A total of 113 patients with acute myocardial infarction were included, aged (56.3±11.5) years, with 88(78%) males. There were 31 cases in the normal microcirculation perfusion group, 43 cases in the delayed microcirculation perfusion group and 39 cases in the blocked microcirculation perfusion group. LVEF was reviewed in 49 patients, and LVEF in the delayed microcirculation perfusion group was significantly improved compared with baseline at follow-up ((63.3±1.2) % vs. (58.6±1.8) %, P=0.043), and there was no statistically significant difference between the other two groups (all P>0.05). The median follow-up time was 473 days, during follow-up period 30 adverse cardiovascular events occurred. Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events among the three groups (Plog-rank=0.029). Cox regression analysis showed that abnormal microcirculation perfusion (defined as delayed and blocked microcirculation perfusion) was an independent predictor of adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI (HR=1.90, 95%CI1.16-3.12, P=0.011). Conclusions: Microcirculatory perfusion decrease or lost is common in patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI. Timely restoration of blood flow reconstruction can save heart function when microcirculatory perfusion decreases. Microcirculatory perfusion is a predictor of adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and patients with poor myocardial perfusion are more likely to experience adverse cardiovascular events.

Abstract
Local anaesthetic injections, commonly used in dentistry and oral surgery, often cause discomfort. This review aimed to examine the impact of intraoral photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) on pain associated with local anaesthesia. Up to March 2024, two independent reviewers searched four databases, ultimately screening 17 randomized controlled trials for meta-analysis using Stata 17.0. The results indicate that intraoral PBMT application significantly reduces the perception of pain associated with local anaesthetic injections (standardized mean difference (SMD) -0.89, 95% confidence interval (CI) -1.27 to -0.52; P < 0.001). This analgesic effect remained consistent irrespective of concurrent topical anaesthetics, and PBMT was efficacious in paediatric (SMD -0.53, 95% CI -0.89 to -0.17; P = 0.004) and adult (SMD -1.46, 95% CI -2.32 to -0.61; P = 0.001) populations. Subgroup analysis provided very low to low-quality evidence that using a wavelength between 900 nm and 980 nm (SMD -0.87, 95% CI -1.36 to -0.39; P < 0.001) and an irradiation time of 13-40 s (SMD -0.94, 95% CI -1.35 to -0.53; P < 0.001) are associated with significant pain reduction. The use of PBMT could aid in reducing pain perception for patients during dental injections, encouraging earlier presentation for dental consultations.

Abstract
The first search for the Z boson decay to ττμμ at the CERN LHC is presented, based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. The data are compatible with the predicted background. For the first time, an upper limit at the 95% confidence level of 6.9 times the standard model expectation is placed on the ratio of the Z→ττμμ to Z→4μ branching fractions. Limits are also placed on the six flavor-conserving four-lepton effective-field-theory operators involving two muons and two tau leptons, for the first time testing all such operators.

Abstract
Using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb - 1 collected by the CMS experiment ats = 13 Te V , theΛ b 0 → J / ψ Ξ - K + decay is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The relative branching fraction, with respect to theΛ b 0 → ψ ( 2 S ) Λ decay, is measured to be B ( Λ b 0 → J / ψ Ξ - K + ) / B ( Λ b 0 → ψ ( 2 S ) Λ ) = [ 3.38 ± 1.02 ± 0.61 ± 0.03 ] % , where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is related to the uncertainties in B ( ψ ( 2 S ) → J / ψ π + π - ) and B ( Ξ - → Λ π - ) .

Abstract
Objective: To examine the associations of pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI), gestational weight gain, and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with early childhood BMI trajectories. Methods: A total of 1 227 mother-child pairs from the Peking University Birth Cohort in Tongzhou were included in this study. In the cohort, maternal pre-pregnancy weight, height, gestational weight gain, and GDM diagnosis were collected. The children were followed up at birth and at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 30, and 36 months of age to obtain height/length and weight data. The longitudinal data-based k-means clustering algorithm was used to identify early childhood BMI trajectory groups. The associations of maternal pre-pregnancy BMI, gestational weight gain, and GDM with early childhood BMI trajectories were analyzed using the logistic regression model. We further explored whether there is an interaction effect between pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity and excessive gestational weight gain on the risk of the high BMI trajectory in early childhood through multiplicative and additive interaction analyses. Results: The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity before pregnancy were 21.2% (260 cases) and 6.6% (81 cases) respectively. The prevalence of excessive gestational weight gain and GDM was 57.7% (708 cases) and 30.9% (379 cases). The early childhood BMI trajectories were named low, medium, and high trajectories, accounting for 30.5%, 45.4% and 24.1%, respectively. After controlling potential confounding factors, it was found that pre-pregnancy overweight (OR=1.54, 95%CI: 1.12-2.12), obesity (OR=2.33, 95%CI: 1.41-3.85), and excessive gestational weight gain (OR=1.47, 95%CI: 1.10-1.97) were risk factors for being in the high BMI trajectory in early childhood. GDM was not significantly associated with early childhood BMI trajectories (P>0.05). Compared with the independent effects of pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity (OR=1.90, 95%CI: 1.17-3.09) and excessive gestational weight gain (OR=1.45, 95%CI: 1.03-2.04), the risk of being in the high BMI trajectory in early childhood was greater when the two factors coexisted (OR=2.38, 95%CI: 1.60-3.54). However, both the multiplicative and additive models showed no interaction effect between pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity and excessive gestational weight gain. Conclusions: Maternal pre-pregnancy overweight/obesity and excessive gestational weight gain are independent risk factors for children being in the high BMI trajectory in early childhood, providing scientific evidence for obesity prevention.

Abstract
Here in, we have designed two new unfused non-fullerene small molecules using asymmetric benzo[1,2-b:3.4-b', 6,5-b"]trithiophene (BTT) as the central donor core and different terminal units i. e., 2-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene)malononitrile (NFA-4) and 1,3-diethyl-2-thioxodi hydropyrimidine-4,6 (1H,5H)-dione (NFA-5) and examined their optical and electrochemical properties. Using a wide band-gap copolymer D18, organic solar cells (OSCs) based on bulk heterojunction of D18:NFA-4 and D18:NFA-5 showed overall power conversion efficiency (PCE) of about 17.07 % and 11.27 %, respectively. The increased PCE for the NFA-4-based OSC, compared to NFA-5 counterpart, is due higher value of short circuit current (JSC), open circuit voltage (VOC), and fill factor (FF). Following the addition of small amount of NFA-5 to the binary bulk heterojunction D18:NFA-4, the ternary organic solar cells attained a PCE of 18.05 %, surpassing that of the binary counterparts due to the higher values of which is higher than that for the binary counterparts and attributed to the increased values of JSC, FF, and VOC. The higher value of JSC is linked to the efficient use to excitons transferred from NFA-5 to NFA-4 with a greated dipole moment than NFA-5 and subsequently dissociated into a free charge carrier efficiently.

Abstract
A search for collective effects inside jets produced in proton-proton collisions is performed via correlation measurements of charged particles using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The analysis uses data collected at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. Jets are reconstructed with the anti-k_{T} algorithm with a distance parameter of 0.8 and are required to have transverse momentum greater than 550 GeV and pseudorapidity |η^{jet}|<1.6. Two-particle correlations among the charged particles within the jets are studied as functions of the particles' azimuthal angle and pseudorapidity separations (Δϕ^{*} and Δη^{*}) in a jet coordinate basis, where particles' η^{*}, ϕ^{*} are defined relative to the direction of the jet. The correlation functions are studied in classes of in-jet charged-particle multiplicity up to N_{ch}^{j}≈100. Fourier harmonics are extracted from long-range azimuthal correlation functions to characterize azimuthal anisotropy for |Δη^{*}|>2. For low-N_{ch}^{j} jets, the long-range elliptic anisotropic harmonic, v_{2}^{*}, is observed to decrease with N_{ch}^{j}. This trend is well described by Monte Carlo event generators. However, a rising trend for v_{2}^{*} emerges at N_{ch}^{j}≳80, hinting at a possible onset of collective behavior, which is not reproduced by the models tested. This observation yields new insights into the dynamics of jet evolution in the vacuum.

Abstract
Human adipose-derived stem cells (hASCs) are commonly used in bone tissue regeneration. The N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification has emerged as a novel regulatory mechanism for gene expression, playing a critical role in osteogenic differentiation of stem cells. However, the precise role and mechanism of alkylation repair homolog 5 (ALKBH5) in hASC osteogenesis remain incompletely elucidated and warrant further investigation. Herein, we employed methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing, RNA sequencing, and weighted gene coexpression network analysis to identify a key long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in hASCs: lncRNA AK311120. Functional experiments demonstrated that lnc-AK311120 promoted the osteogenic differentiation of hASCs, while a mutation at the m6A central site A of lnc-AK311120 was found to decrease the level of m6A modification. The osteogenic effect of ALKBH5 was confirmed both in vitro and in vivo using a mandibular defect model in nude mice. Subsequent investigations revealed that knockdown of ALKBH5 resulted in a significant increase in the m6A modification level of lnc-AK311120, accompanied by a downregulation in the expression level of lnc-AK311120. Additional rescue experiments demonstrated that overexpression of lnc-AK311120 could restore the phenotype after ALKBH5 knockdown. We observed that AK311120 interacted with the RNA-binding proteins DExH-Box helicase 9 (DHX9) and YTH domain containing 2 (YTHDC2) to form a ternary complex, while mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 7 (MAP2K7) served as the shared downstream target gene of DHX9 and YTHDC2. Knockdown of AK311120 led to a reduction in the binding affinity between DHX9/YTHDC2 and the target gene MAP2K7. Furthermore, ALKBH5 facilitated the translation of MAP2K7 and activated the downstream JNK signaling pathway through the AK311120-DHX9-YTHDC2 complex, without affecting its messenger RNA level. Collectively, we have investigated the regulatory effect and mechanism of ALKBH5-mediated demethylation of lncRNA in hASC osteogenesis for the first time, offering a promising approach for bone tissue engineering.

Abstract
AIM Radiomics involves the extraction of quantitative data from medical images to facilitate the diagnosis, prognosis, and staging of tumors. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the efficacy of radiomics in prognostic applications for head and neck cancer (HNC) in recent years. It undertakes a systematic review of prognostic models specific to HNC and conducts a meta-analysis to evaluate their predictive performance. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study adhered rigorously to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines for literature searches. The literature databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, and Scopus were systematically searched individually. The methodological quality of the incorporated studies underwent assessment utilizing the radiomics quality score (RQS) tool. A random-effects meta-analysis employing the Harrell concordance index (C-index) was conducted to evaluate the performance of all radiomics models. RESULTS Among the 388 studies retrieved, 24 studies encompassing a total of 6,978 cases were incorporated into the systematic review. Furthermore, eight studies, focusing on overall survival as an endpoint, were included in the meta-analysis. The meta-analysis revealed that the estimated random effect of the C-index for all studies utilizing radiomics alone was 0.77 (0.71-0.82), with a substantial degree of heterogeneity indicated by an I2 of 80.17%. CONCLUSIONS Based on this review, prognostic modeling utilizing radiomics has demonstrated enhanced efficacy for head and neck cancers; however, there remains room for improvement in this approach. In the future, advancements are warranted in the integration of clinical parameters and multimodal features, balancing multicenter data, as well as in feature screening and model construction within this field.

Abstract
1. This trial investigated the effect on embryo injected with ochratoxin A (OTA) and the growth performance, jejunal morphology and barrier of ducklings to 21 d old.2. Two hundred forty, fertilised eggs were individually weighed and randomly assigned to two groups, a control (CON) and the OTA treatment, according to average egg weight. On d 13 of embryonic development, the treatment group was injected with 8 ng OTA/g egg and the CON group was injected with NaHCO3 solution as a placebo. All newly hatched ducklings were assigned to the CON or OTA group based on the different treatments. Each treatment consisted of six replicates and each included 10 ducklings and the experiment lasted until 21 d of age.3. The results showed that embryos injected with OTA affected the 21 d body weight (BW) and average daily gain (ADG) of ducklings (p < 0.05). OTA exposure increased the relative weights of the liver, pancreas, gizzard, proventriculus and jejunum (p < 0.05); and decreased the relative length of the jejunum of ducklings (p < 0.05). Moreover, jejunal crypt depth increased (p < 0.05) and the villus height-to-crypt depth ratio (Vh/Cd) decreased in the OTA-injected group (p < 0.05). Compared with those in the CON group, the mRNA expression of Zonula Occludens-1; (ZO-1) (p = 0.0582) and Occludin; (p = 0.0687) in the OTA treatment group was downregulated.4. The findings demonstrated that a single low-dose injection of OTA increased body weight and daily gain in ducklings. Moreover, embryo exposure to OTA had negative effects with increased relative weight of organs and the jejunal crypt depth, decreased relative length of the intestine and mRNA expression of tight junctions (ZO-1, Occludin).

Abstract
PURPOSE Parastomal hernia poses a challenging problem in the field of hernia surgery. The high incidence and recurrence rates of parastomal hernia necessitate surgeons to enhance surgical techniques and repair materials. This study aimed to develop a rat model of parastomal hernia by inducing various types of defects on the abdominal wall with colostomy. This established method has potential for future studies on parastomal hernia. METHODS In this study, 32 male rats were included and randomly divided into four groups: the oblique abdominis excision (OE), oblique abdominis dissection (OD), rectus abdominis excision (RE), and rectus abdominis dissection (RD) groups. In each group, colostomy was performed and an abdominal wall defect was induced. The rats were observed for 28 days following surgery. The survival rate, body weight, parastomal hernia model scores, abdominal wall adhesion and inflammation, and collagen level in the hernial sac were compared. RESULTS No significant differences in survival rate and weight were observed among the four groups. The parastomal hernia model scores in the RE and RD groups were significantly higher than those in the OE and OD groups. The ratio of collagen I/III in the RE and RD groups was significantly lower than that in the OE and OD groups. Adhesion and inflammation levels were lower in the RE group than in the RD group. CONCLUSION Based on a comprehensive comparison of the findings, RE with colostomy emerged as the optimal approach for establishing parastomal hernia models in rats.

Abstract
For every epidemic outbreak, the prevention and treatments in resource-limited areas are always out of reach. Critical to this is that high accuracy, stability, and more comprehensive analytical techniques always rely on expensive and bulky instruments and large laboratories. Here, a fully integrated and high-throughput microfluidic system is proposed for ultra-multiple point-of-care immunoassay, termed Dac system. Specifically, the Dac system only requires a handheld portable device to automatically recycle repetitive multi-step reactions including on-demand liquid releasing, dispensing, metering, collecting, oscillatory mixing, and discharging. The Dac system performs high-precision enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for up to 17 samples or targets simultaneously on a single chip. Furthermore, reagent consumption is only 2% compared to conventional ELISA, and microbubble-accelerated reactions shorten the assay time by more than half. As a proof of concept, the multiplexed detections are achieved by detecting at least four infection targets for two samples simultaneously on a singular chip. Furthermore, the barcode-based multi-target results can rapidly distinguish between five similar cases, allowing for accurate therapeutic interventions. Compared to bulky clinical instruments, the accuracy of clinical inflammation classification is 92.38% (n = 105), with a quantitative correlation coefficient of R2 = 0.9838, while the clinical specificity is 100% and the sensitivity is 98.93%.

Abstract
The γ-ray emission from the W51 complex is widely acknowledged to be attributed to the interaction between the cosmic rays (CRs) accelerated by the shock of supernova remnant (SNR) W51C and the dense molecular clouds in the adjacent star-forming region, W51B. However, the maximum acceleration capability of W51C for CRs remains elusive. Based on observations conducted with the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), we report a significant detection of γ rays emanating from the W51 complex, with energies from 2 to 200 TeV. The LHAASO measurements, for the first time, extend the γ-ray emission from the W51 complex beyond 100 TeV and reveal a significant spectrum bending at tens of TeV. By combining the "π0-decay bump" featured data from Fermi-LAT, the broadband γ-ray spectrum of the W51 region can be well-characterized by a simple pp-collision model. The observed spectral bending feature suggests an exponential cutoff at ∼400 TeV or a power-law break at ∼200 TeV in the CR proton spectrum, most likely providing the first evidence of SNRs serving as CR accelerators approaching the PeV regime. Additionally, two young star clusters within W51B could also be theoretically viable to produce the most energetic γ rays observed by LHAASO. Our findings strongly support the presence of extreme CR accelerators within the W51 complex and provide new insights into the origin of Galactic CRs.

Abstract
We developed a model of inflammation and airway remodeling in C57 mice provoked by exosomes derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells infected by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The mean size of control and infected exosomes in vitro were 167.9 and 118.5 nm, respectively. After induction of modeled pathology, the severity of airway inflammation and its remodeling were analyzed by histopathological methods. In addition, the blood levels of inflammatory factors IL-10, IL-17, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), and TNFα were assayed; in the lung tissues, the expression levels of MMP-2, MMP-9, α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and TGF-β were measured. In the developed model, the effects of RSV-induced and non-induced exosomes were compared with those of inactivated and non-inactivated RSV. Intranasal administration of RSV-induced exosomes decreased the levels of serum inflammatory factors IL-10 and IL-17 and increased the expression of serum proinflammatory cytokine TNFα. Increased levels of MMP-2, MMP-9, and α-SMA, enhanced expression of TGF-β in the lung tissue, and pathological staining of the lung tissues indicated infiltration with inflammatory cells and luminal constriction. Thus, RSV-induced exosomes can provoke airway inflammation and remodeling in mice similar to RSV, while non-induced exosomes cannot produce such alterations.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the safety of patients with hepatic adenoma undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) . Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical characteristics and prognosis of eight patients with hepatic adenoma who underwent allo-HSCT in the Hematology Department of Peking University People's Hospital from January 2010 to March 2024 was conducted. Results: Of the eight patients who underwent allo-HSCT with hepatic adenoma, one patient was considered MDS-h transfusion-dependent and seven had aplastic anemia. The median age of the patients was 23 years (13-48 years). The median time from the diagnosis of AA or MDS to transplantation was 14 years (6-24 years), whereas the median time from taking androgens to diagnosing hepatic adenoma was 9 years (5-13 years). Six cases underwent haplo-HSCT, one case underwent matched unrelated donor HSCT, and one case underwent matched related donor HSCT. All patients achieved neutrophil engraftment at a median time of 11.5 days (11-20 days) and PLT engraftment within 60 days at a median of 19 days (10-37 days) after haplo-HSCT. Moreover, seven patients developed CMV anemia after transplantation, three patients had hemorrhagic cystitis, and two patients developed acute GVHD. During and after transplantation, eight patients did not show severe liver function damage or rupture of hepatic adenoma. In relation to imaging size, four patients showed varying degrees of reduction in hepatic adenoma size after transplantation, whereas four patients did not show significant changes in hepatic adenoma size after transplantation. The median follow-up time was 540.5 (30-2 989) days. Of the eight patients, six survived and two died. Furthermore, no direct correlation was observed between death and hepatic adenoma. Conclusion: Patients with hepatic adenomas undergoing allo-HSCT are not contraindications for transplantation, which will not increase transplant-related mortality.

Abstract
The development of therapeutic strategies to reduce impairments following spinal cord injury (SCI) motivates an active area of research, because there are no effective therapies. One strategy is to address injury-induced demyelination of spared axons by promoting endogenous or exogenous remyelination. However, previously, we showed that new myelin was not necessary to regain hindlimb stepping following moderate thoracic spinal cord contusion in 3-month-old mice. The present analysis investigated two potential mechanisms by which animals can re-establish locomotion in the absence of remyelination: compensation through intact white matter and conduction through spared axons. We induced a severe contusion injury to reduce the spared white matter rim in the remyelination deficient model, with no differences in recovery between remyelination deficient animals and injured littermate controls. We investigated the nodal properties of the axons at the lesion and found that in the remyelination deficient model, axons express the Nav1.2 voltage-gated sodium channel, a sub-type not typically expressed at mature nodes of Ranvier. In a moderate contusion injury, conduction velocities through the lesions of remyelination deficient animals were similar to those in animals with the capacity to remyelinate after injury. Detailed gait analysis and kinematics reveal subtle differences between remyelination deficient animals and remyelination competent controls, but no worse deficits. It is possible that upregulation of Nav1.2 channels may contribute to establishing conduction through the lesion. This conduction could contribute to compensation and regained motor function in mouse models of SCI. Such compensatory mechanism may have implications for interpreting efficacy results for remyelinating interventions in mice and the development of therapies for improving recovery following SCI.

Abstract
Neovascular retinal diseases pose a significant burden, often resulting in visual impairment. Intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs serves as the primary therapeutic approach. Nonetheless, certain patients necessitate continued anti-VEGF treatment post-vitrectomy or other ocular surgeries. Emerging evidence suggests that variations in surgical techniques and postoperative vitreous cavity management may induce distinct intraocular pharmacokinetics (PK) of anti-VEGF agents following vitrectomy, prompting potential adjustments in therapeutic strategies. This review offers a thorough examination of the pharmacokinetic determinants impacting anti-VEGF drugs and their intraocular dynamics post-vitrectomy.
