Abstract
Potential synergism between Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor and lenalidomide in treating aggressive B-cell lymphoma has been suggested. Here, the authors report a single-arm phase II clinical trial of combination of acalabrutinib, lenalidomide and rituximab (R2A) in patients with aggressive relapsed/refractory aggressive (R/R) B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The primary endpoint of this study is objective response rate (ORR), and the secondary endpoints are complete remission (CR) rate, duration of response (DoR), progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). A total of 66 patients are enrolled mostly with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The ORR is 54.5% and CR rate is 31.8% meeting the primary end point. The median DoR is 12.9 months, and 1-year PFS and OS rate is 33.1% and 67.5% respectively. Adverse events (AE) are manageable with the most frequent AE being neutropenia (31.8%). Patients with MYD88 mutations, subtypes known for NF-κB activation, and high BTK expression by immunohistochemistry respond well. Overall, these results show a significant efficacy of the R2A regimen in patients with aggressive R/R B-cell NHL, with exploratory biomarkers suggesting potential associations with response. Abstract
Purpose The role of allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) in multiple myeloma (MM) treatment remains controversial. We conducted a retrospective, multicenter, nationwide study in Korea to evaluate the outcomes of alloSCT in Asian patients with MM. Materials and Methods Overall, 109 patients with MM who underwent alloSCT between 2003 and 2020 were included in this study. Data were collected from the Korean Multiple Myeloma Working Party Registry. Results The overall response rate and stringent complete response (sCR) plus CR rates were 67.0 and 46.8%, respectively, after alloSCT. At a median follow-up of 32.5 months, the 3-year probability of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) rates were 69.3 and 71.8%, respectively. The 3-year probabilities of OS rates in the upfront alloSCT, tandem auto-alloSCT, and later alloSCT groups were 75.0, 88.9, and 61.1%, respectively. Patients who achieved CR before or after alloSCT had significantly longer OS (89.8 vs. 18 months and 89.8 vs. 15.2 months, respectively). Even though patients who did not achieve CR prior to alloSCT, those who achieve CR after alloSCT had improved PFS and OS compared to those who had no achievement of CR both prior and after alloSCT. Patients who underwent alloSCT with 1-2 prior treatment lines had improved PFS (22.4 vs. 4.5 months) and OS (45.6 vs. 15.3 months) compared to those with three or more prior treatment lines. Conclusion AlloSCT may be a promising therapeutic option especially for younger, chemosensitive patients with earlier implementation from relapse.

Abstract
Background Bone marrow (BM) involvement is an indicator of a poor prognosis in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL); however, few studies have evaluated the role of immunoglobulin gene rearrangement (IgR) in detecting BM involvement. Methods We evaluated the clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with DLBCL based on histological BM involvement or positive BM IgR using polymerase chain reaction or next-generation sequencing. We also investigated the role of consolidative upfront autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in patients with DLBCL and BM involvement. Results Among 624 patients, 123 (19.7%) with histological BM involvement and 88 (17.5%) with positive IgR in histologically negative BM had more advanced disease characteristics. Overall (OS) and progression-free (PFS) survival was better for patients with negative BM histology and negative IgR than that in patients with histological BM involvement (P = 0.050 and P < 0.001, respectively) and positive IgR with negative BM histology (P = 0.001 and P = 0.005, respectively). Survival rates did not differ among 82 (13.1%) patients who were treated with upfront ASCT and had histological BM involvement or positive IgR with negative BM histology. The survival outcomes were worse for patients who were not treated with upfront ASCT and for those with histological BM involvement or positive IgR, than for those with negative BM histology and negative IgR. Conclusion Patients diagnosed with DLBCL and BM involvement based on histology or IgR had aggressive clinical features and poor survival. Upfront ASCT mitigated poor prognosis due to BM involvement.

Abstract
Background Brentuximab vedotin (BV), a potent antibody-drug conjugate, targets the CD30 antigen. In Korea, BV has been approved for the treatment of relapsed or refractory Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL), and cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, including mycosis fungoides (MF). However, there are limited data reflecting real-world experiences with BV treatment for HL, ALCL, and MF. Methods This was a multicenter, non-interventional registry study of the efficacy and safety of BV in patients with relapsed or refractory CD30-positive lymphoma (CISL1803/BRAVO). Outcomes were determined based on the occurrence of relapse or progression and overall survival after BV treatment. Results A total of 85 patients were enrolled in this study. The median number of BV cycles was 10 (range, 2‒16) in the patients with HL. The objective response rate (ORR) of patients with HL to BV was 85.4% (41/48), comprising 27 complete responses (CRs) and 14 partial responses (PRs). The ORR of ALCL was 88% (22/25), consisting of 17 CRs and five PRs, whereas the ORR of MF was 92% (11/12). At the median follow-up of 44.6 months after BV treatment, the median post-BV progression-free survival of HL, ALCL, and MF patients was 23.6 months, 29.0 months, and 16.7 months, respectively (P=0.641). The most common side effect of BV was peripheral neuropathy; 22 patients (25.9%, 22/85) experienced peripheral neuropathy (all grades). Conclusion The treatment outcomes of patients with relapsed or refractory CD30-positive lymphoma improved with BV treatment, and the safety profile was manageable.

Abstract
Introduction Pegylated granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) has been widely used for preventing febrile neutropenia in various types of cancer treatment. In the present study, we prospectively evaluated the safety and efficacy of pegfilgrastim as a primary prophylaxis of febrile neutropenia and infection among patients with relapsed refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) treated with pomalidomide-based regimens. Methods Thirty-three patients with RRMM who received pomalidomide and dexamethasone (Pd) with or without cyclophosphamide (PCd) were enrolled in this study. Twenty-eight patients were treated with PCd and 5 patients were treated with Pd. All patients were given pegfilgrastim subcutaneously with a single administration performed on the first day of each cycle as primary prophylaxis until the fourth cycle. Results The median age of the patients was 75 (range 56-85), and the median prior line of therapy was 2 (range 2-6). Seventeen patients (51.5%) had any grade of neutropenia and 20 (60.6%) had any grade of thrombocytopenia before starting pomalidomide treatment. During the 4 cycles of treatment, grade 3 or more neutropenia occurred in 17 patients (51.5%), and 4 (12.1%) experienced grade 3 or more febrile neutropenia. Grade 3 or more infections occurred in 5 patients (15.2%). Interestingly, the patients with markedly increased ANC of more than 2 x 109/L compared to baseline ANC after 7 days of pegfilgrastim at 1st cycle of treatment showed a significantly lower incidence of grade 3-4 neutropenia. The most common adverse event of pegfilgrastim was fatigue, and all the adverse events caused by pegfilgrastim were grade 1 or 2. And there was no significant change in the immune cell population and cytokines during the administration of pegfilgrastim. Discussion Considering that this study included elderly patients with baseline neutropenia, pegylated G-CSF could be helpful to prevent severe neutropenia, febrile neutropenia, or infection in patients with RRMM.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS We performed a prospective study to determine the efficacy and safety of rituximab including chemotherapy in CD20-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). METHODS Patients with newly diagnosed ALL, aged ≥ 15 years, were eligible for the study if their leukemic blast cells in bone marrow expressed CD20 ≥ 20% at the time of diagnosis. Patients received multiagent chemotherapy with rituximab. After achieving complete remission (CR), patients received five cycles of consolidation with concomitant rituximab. Rituximab was administered monthly from day 90 of transplantation for patients who received allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. RESULTS In patients with Philadelphia (Ph)-negative ALL, 39 of 41 achieved CR (95.1%), the 2- and 4-year relapse-free survival (RFS) rates were 50.4% and 35.7%, and the 2- and 4-year overall survival (OS) rates were 51.5% and 43.2%, respectively. In the group with Ph-positive ALL, all 32 patients achieved CR, the 2- and 4-year RFS rates were 60.7% and 52.1%, and the 2- and 4-year OS rates were 73.3% and 52.3%, respectively. In the Ph-negative ALL group, patients with higher CD20 positivity experienced more favorable RFS (p < 0.001) and OS (p = 0.06) than those with lower CD20 positivity. Patients who received ≥ 2 cycles of rituximab after transplantation had significantly improved RFS (hazard ratio [HR], 0.31; p = 0.049) and OS (HR, 0.29; p = 0.021) compared with those who received < 2 cycles. CONCLUSION The addition of rituximab to conventional chemotherapy for CD20-positive ALL is effective and tolerable (Clinicaltrials. gov NCT01429610).

Abstract
INTRODUCTION This prospective study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of preemptive antiviral therapy with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) for HBsAg-positive patients with newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma receiving rituximab plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (R-CHOP) chemotherapy. METHODS We enrolled 73 patients from 20 institutions. The primary end point was the absolute risk of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatitis during preemptive TDF therapy and for 24 weeks after withdrawal from TDF. Hepatitis was defined as a more than 3-fold increase in serum alanine aminotransferase from baseline or an alanine aminotransferase level of ≥100 U/L. HBV-related hepatitis was defined as hepatitis with an increase in serum HBV-DNA to >10 times that of the pre-exacerbation baseline or an absolute increase of ≥20,000 IU/mL compared with the baseline. RESULTS No patient developed HBV reactivation or HBV-related hepatitis during preemptive antiviral therapy (until 48 weeks after completion of R-CHOP chemotherapy) with TDF. All adverse events were grade 1 or 2. HBV reactivation was reported in 17 (23.3%) patients. All HBV reactivation was developed at a median of 90 days after withdrawal from TDF (range, 37-214 days). Six (8.2%) patients developed HBV-related hepatitis at a median of 88 days after withdrawal from TDF (range, 37-183 days). DISCUSSION Preemptive TDF therapy in HBsAg-positive patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma receiving R-CHOP chemotherapy was safe and effective for preventing HBV-related hepatitis. However, a long-term maintenance strategy of preemptive TDF therapy should be recommended because of the relatively high rate of HBV-related hepatitis after withdrawal from TDF ( ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT02354846).

Abstract
BackgroundA chemotherapy of rituximab, fludarabine and cyclophosphamide (R-FC) has been accepted as a promising frontline chemotherapy in selected patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Although R-FC regimen is a relatively dose-dense regimen and neutropenia incidence is more than 50%, primary prophylactic pegfilgrastim was not fully recommended in the clinical field. Therefore, the study evaluated the prophylactic effectiveness of pegfilgrastim to reduce the incidence of febrile neutropenia associated with R-FC of patients with CLL.Patients and methodsA single-arm, multicenter, prospective phase II study was designed to assess the efficacy of prophylactic pegfilgrastim. Thirty-four CLL patients were enrolled and analyzed for neutropenia and other related factors, and comparative analysis was performed with historical cohort.ResultsCompared with our historical cohort, incidence of grade 3-4 neutropenia and febrile neutropenia was remarkably reduced during any cycle of chemotherapy (14.7% vs. 48.2% of study cohort vs. historical cohort during C1, 5.9% vs. 65.8% during C2, 12.9% vs. 80.6% during C3, 10% vs. 84.6% during C4, 3.4% vs. 83.6% during C5, and 10.7% vs. 85.7% during C6, p <0.001). Also, cumulative incidence of disrupted chemotherapy was noticeably reduced in study cohort on any cycles of R-FC regimen (8.8% vs. 22.2% of study cohort vs. historical cohort on C2, 9.7% vs. 25.2% on C3, 13.4% vs. 26.9% on C4, 13.8% vs. 45.2% on C5, 17.9% vs. 47.3% on C6, p=0.007). In addition, treatment-related mortality was 5.9%, which significantly reduced compared to 9.6% of our historical cohort (HR 0.64, 95% CI 0.42–0.79, P = 0.032).ConclusionPrimary prophylactic pegfilgrastim is effective in the prevention of neutropenia/febrile neutropenia, and infection-related mortality during R-FC regimen in patients with CLL.

Abstract
PURPOSE Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common hematologic malignancy worldwide. Although substantial improvement has been achieved by the frontline rituximab-based chemoimmunotherapy, up to 40%-50% of patients will eventually have relapsed or refractory disease, whose prognosis is extremely dismal. MATERIALS AND METHODS We have carried out two prospective cohort studies that include over 1,500 DLBCL patients treated with rituximab plus CHOP (#NCT01202448 and #NCT02474550). In the current report, we describe the outcomes of refractory DLBCL patients. Patients were defined to have refractory DLBCL if they met one of the followings, not achieving at least partial response after 4 or more cycles of R-CHOP; not achieving at least partial response after 2 or more cycles of salvage therapy; progressive disease within 12 months after autologous stem cell transplantation. RESULTS Among 1,581 patients, a total of 260 patients met the criteria for the refractory disease after a median time to progression of 9.1 months. The objective response rate of salvage treatment was 26.4%, and the complete response rate was 9.6%. The median overall survival (OS) was 7.5 months (95% confidence interval, 6.4 to 8.6), and the 2-year survival rate was 22.1%±2.8%. The median OS for each refractory category was not significantly different (p=0.529). CONCLUSION In line with the previous studies, the outcomes of refractory DLBCL patients were extremely poor, which necessitates novel approaches for this population.

Purpose
Investigate the clinical relationship between hyperglycemic status and in-hospital mortality in cardiogenic shock patients
Method
A total of 1,177 consecutive cardiogenic shock patients were enrolled from January 2014 to December of 2018 at 12 hospitals in South Korea. The primary outcome was in-hospital mortality. Patients were divided into four groups according to their initial plasma glucose level in each of diabetes patients (n=752) and non-diabetes patients (n=425); group 1 (≤8 mmol/L), group 2 (8–12 mmol/L), group 3 (12–16 mmol/L) and group 4 (≥16 mmol/L).
Results
The groups with higher admission plasma glucose were associated with lower systolic blood pressure and higher lactic acid level in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients. In-hospital mortality increased in groups with higher admission plasma glucose level in non-diabetic patients (group-1:24.2%, group-2: 28.6%, group-3: 38.1%, group-4: 49.0%, p<0.01) whereas in diabetic patients, mortality and admission plasma glucose level showed no significant association (group-1: 45%, group-2: 35.4%, group-3: 33.3%, group-4: 43.1%, p=0.26). Even after Multivariate analysis, high plasma glucose was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality in non-diabetic patients
Conclusion
In cardiogenic shock patients, plasma glucose obtained at admission was associated with in-hospital mortality in non-diabetic patients

Abstract
INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND Ruxolitinib is an established treatment for myelofibrosis (MF) that has demonstrated clinical benefit by reducing spleen size and debilitating MF-related symptoms. However, despite the efficacy of ruxolitinib, anemia remains a major adverse event that causes dose modification or discontinuation in real-world practice. Additionally, dependence on red blood cell (RBC) transfusion (TF) is common during treatment; therefore, we explored the outcome of ruxolitinib therapy with a primary focus on RBC TF. PATIENTS/METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 123 MF patients treated with ruxolitinib between January 2012 and April 2020 at eight academic centers in Korea. RESULTS At ruxolitinib initiation, 38 patients (30.9%) underwent ≥ 2 units of RBC TF over 8 weeks. The most common reason for permanent discontinuation was intolerant anemia (10/63, 15.9%). The most common reasons for temporary interruption were nonhematologic toxicity (26/55, 21.1%), anemia (23/55, 18.7%) and thrombocytopenia (13/55, 10.6%). Among the 123 patients in the study, 57 (46.3%), 42 (34.1%), and 40 patients (32.5%) who were receiving or stopped ruxolitinib therapy had a status of RBC TF dependence, long-term RBC TF dependence, or severe RBC TF dependence, respectively. The presence of ≥ 2 units of RBC transfusion over 8 weeks at ruxolitinib initiation was an independent risk factor for persistent RBC TF dependence. CONCLUSION The requirement for RBC TF is commonly encountered during treatment of MF with ruxolitinib, particularly among those with pre-existing ≥ 2 units of RBC TF over 8 weeks. For those patients, overcoming the barrier of maintenance TF is demanding.

Abstract
7563 Background: Peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL) is a group of heterogeneous T cell lymphomas. Patients who relapse from or are refractory to 1st line therapy face dismal prognosis. The response rates to commonly used 2nd line agents such as histone deacetylase inhibitors are below 30%. Immunotherapies, such as anti-PD1 antibodies, may induce hyperprogression in certain PTCL subtypes. Hence, r/r PTCL patients urgently need better therapies. Preclinical data shows JAK/STAT pathway may mediate the pathogenesis of PTCL, making it a promising target. Golidocitinib (DZD4205) is an orally available, potent, JAK1 specific inhibitor, demonstrating profound anti-tumor activities in T lymphoma cells in vitro and tumor xenograft in vivo. Here we report the preliminary data from an ongoing phase I/II study (NCT04105010) of Golidocitinib in r/r PTCL. Methods: The study included two parts: Part A (dose escalation) and Part B (dose expansion). In Part A, patients with r/r PTCL were enrolled and received Golidocitinib at different doses (150 mg or 250 mg, QD) to determine the recommended phase II dose (RP2D). Evaluation of safety and efficacy were performed by investigators per CTCAE and Lugano criteria, respectively. Part B is a single-arm, pivotal study, where patients with r/r PTCL will receive Golidocitinib at the RP2D till disease progression or intolerance. Results: As of May 31, 2021, a total of 51 patients enrolled in Part A and received Golidocitinib at 150 mg (n = 35) or 250 mg (n = 16). Patient characteristics: median age (range): 61.0 years (29-79); median prior systemic therapies (range): 2 lines (1-8). Ten patients (19.6%) had undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Fifteen patients (29.4%) had bone marrow involvement at baseline. Histological subtypes included PTCL-NOS (41.2%), AITL (39.2%), ALCL ALK- (7.8%), NKTCL (7.8%), and MEITL (3.9%). At the data cut-off (DCO), 49 patients completed at least one post-treatment Lugano assessment, of whom 21 (42.9%) achieved tumor response, including 11 complete responses (CRs, 22.4%) and 10 partial responses (20.4%). Tumor response was observed in various subtypes, including AITL (13/20), PTCL-NOS (5/19), ALCL ALK- (2/4) and NKTCL (1/4). At the DCO, the median duration of response (DoR) was not reached, and the longest DoR was > 14 months. Forty-eight patients (94.1%) experienced treatment emergent adverse events (TEAEs), of whom 30 (58.8%) experienced ≥ grade 3 TEAEs. Per investigators’ assessment, 20 patients (39.2%) experienced ≥ grade 3 TEAEs possibly related to the drug. The most common (≥ 10%) ≥ grade 3 TEAEs were neutropenia (29.4%), thrombocytopenia (15.7%) and pneumonia (11.8%). The majority of TEAEs were reversible or clinically manageable with dose modifications. Conclusions: Golidocitinib shows good safety and promising anti-tumor efficacy in r/r PTCL, indicating its potential as a therapeutic option for this unmet medical need. Abstract
Lettuce is one of the economically important leaf vegetables and is cultivated mainly in temperate climate areas. Cultivar identification based on the distinctness, uniformity, and stability (DUS) test is a prerequisite for new cultivar registration. However, DUS testing based on morphological features is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly, and can also be influenced by environmental factors. Thus, molecular markers have also been used for the identification of genetic diversity as an effective, accurate, and stable method. Currently, genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) using next-generation sequencing technology are commonly applied in genetic research on diverse plant species. This study aimed to establish an effective and high-throughput cultivar identification system for lettuce using core sets of SNP markers developed by genotyping by sequencing (GBS). GBS identified 17 877 high-quality SNPs for 90 commercial lettuce cultivars. Genetic differentiation analyses based on the selected SNPs classified the lettuce cultivars into three main groups. Core sets of 192, 96, 48, and 24 markers were further selected and validated using the Fluidigm platform. Phylogenetic analyses based on all core sets of SNPs successfully discriminated individual cultivars that have been currently recognized. These core sets of SNP markers will support the construction of a DNA database of lettuce that can be useful for cultivar identification and purity testing, as well as DUS testing in the plant variety protection system. Additionally, this work will facilitate genetic research to improve breeding in lettuce.

Abstract
Background Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common type of adult leukemia in Western countries but is rare in the East Asian countries. Due to its rarity and the lack of feasible novel agents and laboratory prognostic tools, there are limited data on the clinical outcomes of this disease in Asia. To clarify the current treatment status, we performed a multicenter retrospective analysis of patients with CLL in Korea. Methods The medical records of 192 eligible patients between 2008 and 2019 were reviewed for clinical characteristics, treatment courses, and outcomes. The first-line treatment regimens of the patients included in this analysis were as follows fludarabine/cyclophosphamide/rituximab (FCR) (N=117, 52.7%), obinutuzumab plus chlorambucil (GC) (N=30, 13.5%), and chlorambucil monotherapy (N=24, 10.8%). Results The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 55.6 months, and the average 2-year PFS rate was 80.3%. PFS was not significantly different between the patients receiving FCR and those receiving GC; however, chlorambucil treatment was associated with significantly inferior PFS (P<0.001). The median overall survival was 136.3 months, and the average 5- and 10-year OS rates were 82.0% and 57.4%, respectively. Conclusion This is one of the largest studies involving Korean patients with CLL. Although the patients had been treated with less favored treatment regimens, the outcomes were not different from those reported in Western studies.

Abstract
Purpose Febrile neutropenia (FN) can cause suboptimal treatment and treatment-related mortality (TRM) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients treated with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone (R-CHOP). Materials and Methods We conducted a prospective cohort study to evaluate the effectiveness of pegfilgrastim prophylaxis in DLBCL patients receiving R-CHOP, and we compared them with the PROCESS cohort (n=485). Results Since January 2015, 986 patients with DLBCL were enrolled. Pegfilgrastim was administered at least once in 930 patients (94.3%), covering 90.3% of all cycles. FN developed in 137 patients (13.9%) in this cohort (23.7% in the PROCESS cohort, p < 0.001), and 4.2% of all cycles (10.2% in the PROCESS cohort, p < 0.001). Dose delay was less common (≥ 3 days: 18.1% vs. 23.7%, p=0.015; ≥ 5 days: 12.0% vs. 18.3%, p=0.023) in this cohort than in the PROCESS cohort. The incidence of TRM (3.2% vs. 5.6%, p=0.047) and infection-related death (1.8% vs. 4.5%, p=0.004) was lower in this cohort than in the PROCESS cohort. The 4-year overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) rates of the two cohorts were not different (OS: 73.0% vs. 71.9%, p=0.545; PFS: 69.5% vs. 68.8%, p=0.616). However, in patients aged ≥ 75 years, the 4-year OS and PFS rates were higher in this cohort than in the PROCESS cohort (OS: 49.6% vs. 33.7%, p=0.032; PFS: 44.2% vs. 30.3% p=0.047). Conclusion Pegfilgrastim prophylaxis is effective in the prevention of FN and infection-related death in DLBCL patients receiving R-CHOP, and it also improves OS in patients aged ≥ 75 years.

Abstract
Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs) are a group of T-cell lymphomas with low incidence. Due to their indolent characteristics, treatment strategies have not yet been established for advanced CTCLs. In this study, relative incidence of CTCLs in Asia was estimated and the therapeutic outcomes presented based on various treatments currently used in clinics for advanced CTCLs. As part of a prospective registry study of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) conducted across Asia, including Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, subgroup analysis was performed for patients with CTCLs. Among 486 patients with PTCL, 37 with CTCL (7.6%) were identified between April 2016 and February 2019. Primary cutaneous ALK-negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL, 35.1%) was the most common subtype. With a median follow-up period of 32.1 months, median progression-free survival (PFS) was 53.5 months (95% CI 0.0-122.5), and overall survival was not reached. 14 patients (48.2%) underwent subsequent treatment after the first relapse, but the response rate was 20% with a PFS of 2.2 months (95% CI 0.3-4.0). Six patients received autologous stem cell transplantation (auto-SCT). However, auto-SCT did not result in better outcomes. Additional studies are needed on standard care treatment of advanced or refractory and relapsed CTCLs.

Abstract
Background Global studies have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of blinatumomab—a BiTE® (bispecific T‐cell engager) targeted immuno‐oncology therapy that mediates the lysis of cells expressing CD19 in patients with relapsed/refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia (R/R ALL). Because limited data are available in Asian patients, we conducted a post hoc pooled analysis in 45 Asian adult patients with R/R ALL—19 from the blinatumomab arm of TOWER (NCT02013167) and 26 from Study 265, a phase 1b/2 study in Japanese adults (NCT02412306). Methods Patients received a maximum of two cycles of induction blinatumomab for 4 weeks by continuous intravenous infusion (cycle 1/week 1: 9 μg/day; cycle 1/weeks 2–4: 28 μg/day) followed by 2 weeks of no blinatumomab (each 6‐week cycle); patients received 28 μg/day blinatumomab in subsequent cycles. Results Twenty of 45 patients enrolled (44%) achieved complete remission with full or partial hematologic recovery compared with 44% in TOWER and 80% and 38% in phase 1b and phase 2, respectively, of Study 265. The Kaplan–Meier (KM) median overall survival was 11.9 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 9.9–17.1) and the KM median duration of relapse‐free survival was 8.9 months (95% CI, 3.8–10.7). Ninety‐three percent of patients had grade ≥ 3 treatment‐emergent adverse events (AEs) compared with 87% in TOWER and 80% and 100% in phase 1b and phase 2, respectively, of Study 265. Five patients (11.4%) had fatal AEs. Conclusions The safety and efficacy of blinatumomab in Asian patients were comparable with those reported in previous global studies with no new safety signals.

Abstract
Background We investigated whether distancemax, that is, the degree of distance between the upper aerodigestive tract (UAT) mass and the farthest pathologic lymph node, was significantly associated with survival in patients with limited-stage UAT natural killer/T cell lymphoma (NKTCL). Methods A total of 157 patients who received chemotherapy (CTx) with/without radiotherapy (RTx) were enrolled. Results In the survival analysis, an elevated lactate dehydrogenase level [progression-free survival (PFS) hazard ratio (HR), 2.948; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.606‒5.404; P<0.001; overall survival (OS) HR, 2.619; 95% CI, 1.594‒4.822; P=0.003], short distancemax (PFS HR, 0.170; 95% CI, 0.071‒0.410; P<0.001; OS HR, 0.142; 95% CI, 0.050‒0.402; P< 0.001), and CTx combined with RTx (HR, 0.168; 95%CI, 0.079‒0.380; P<0.001; OS HR, 0.193; 95% CI, 0.087‒0.429; P<0.001) had an independent predictive value for PFS and OS. Conclusion The evaluation of the degree of lymphatic spread and local control by CTx combined with RTx is essential in patients with limited-stage UAT NKTCL.

Abstract
The hypocellular variant of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is defined as bone marrow cellularity of <20% in a biopsy specimen at presentation. We performed a retrospective analysis of the clinical features and survival outcomes of hypocellular AML in a Korean population. We reviewed the medical records of all patients diagnosed with AML at nine hospitals participating in the Korean AML registry from 2006 to 2012. Overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) rates were calculated from the time of diagnosis until death or an event, respectively. In total, 2110 patients were enrolled and 102 (4.8%) were identified as having hypocellular AML. Patients with hypocellular AML were older than those with non-hypocellular AML (median age: 59 vs 49 years; P < .001) and presented with leukopenia more frequently (mean white blood cell count: 5810/μL vs 40549/μL; P < .001). There was no difference between patients with and without hypocellular AML in terms of the presence of antecedent hematologic disorders (5.9% vs 5.3%; P = .809). FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutations were less common in hypocellular than non-hypocellular AML (FLT3-ITD mutations: 1.2% vs 14.3%, P < .001; NPM1 mutations: 0% vs 9.5%, P = .019). No differences were seen between the hypocellular and non-hypocellular AML groups in the complete remission rate (53.9% vs 61.3%, P = .139) or early death rate (defined as any death before 8 weeks; 14.7% vs 13.0%, P = .629). The OS and EFS did not differ between the hypocellular and non-hypocellular AML groups (median OS: 16 vs 23 months, P = .169; median EFS: 6 vs 9 months, P = .215). Hypocellular AML is more frequently observed in older-aged patients and have fewer FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutation, but the clinical outcomes of hypocellular AML do not differ from those of non-hypocellular AML.

Abstract
Time-resolved resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) is one of the developing techniques enabled by the advent of X-ray free electron laser (FEL). It is important to evaluate how the FEL jitter, which is inherent in the self-amplified spontaneous emission process, influences the RIXS measurement. Here, we use a microchannel plate (MCP) based Timepix soft X-ray detector to conduct a time-resolved RIXS measurement at the Ti L3-edge on a charge-density-wave material TiSe2. The fast parallel Timepix readout and single photon sensitivity enable pulse-by-pulse data acquisition and analysis. Due to the FEL jitter, low detection efficiency of spectrometer, and low quantum yield of RIXS process, we find that less than 2% of the X-ray FEL pulses produce signals, preventing acquiring sufficient data statistics while maintaining temporal and energy resolution in this measurement. These limitations can be mitigated by using future X-ray FELs with high repetition rates, approaching MHz such as the European XFEL in Germany and LCLS-II in the USA, as well as by utilizing advanced detectors, such as the prototype used in this study.

Abstract
The standard of treatment for completely resected limited-stage diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in patients without residual lesions has not yet been established. Previously, we designed a phase II trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of three cycles of abbreviated R-CHOP in patients with completely resected limited-stage DLBCL and reported favorable survival outcomes. We present the long-term follow-up results to taking into account the importance of delayed relapse in patients with limited-stage DLBCL. With a median follow-up duration of 62.7 months (range, 60.2-75.5 months), the 5-year OS and DFS rates were both 95.0% (95% confidence interval, 85.59-104.11%). Only one patient experienced disease progression which was confirmed at 12.3 months, and one patient with primary intestinal DLBCL developed non-small cell lung cancer 6 years after treatment. The long-term results of our data support the use of three cycles of abbreviated R-CHOP for patients with completely resected limited-stage DLBCL. The study was reviewed and approved by the review boards of the participating institutes and registered at ClinicalTrials.gov , number NCT01279902, in August 3, 2010.

Abstract
The search continues for nickel oxide-based materials with electronic properties similar to cuprate high-temperature superconductors1-10. The recent discovery of superconductivity in the doped infinite-layer nickelate NdNiO2 (refs. 11,12) has strengthened these efforts. Here, we use X-ray spectroscopy and density functional theory to show that the electronic structure of LaNiO2 and NdNiO2, while similar to the cuprates, includes significant distinctions. Unlike cuprates, the rare-earth spacer layer in the infinite-layer nickelate supports a weakly interacting three-dimensional 5d metallic state, which hybridizes with a quasi-two-dimensional, strongly correlated state with [Formula: see text] symmetry in the NiO2 layers. Thus, the infinite-layer nickelate can be regarded as a sibling of the rare-earth intermetallics13-15, which are well known for heavy fermion behaviour, where the NiO2 correlated layers play an analogous role to the 4f states in rare-earth heavy fermion compounds. This Kondo- or Anderson-lattice-like 'oxide-intermetallic' replaces the Mott insulator as the reference state from which superconductivity emerges upon doping.
