Abstract
Molybdenum disulfide and graphitic carbon nitride (MoS2-g-C3N4) nanocomposites with visible-light induced photocatalytic activity were successfully synthesized by a facile ultrasonic dispersion method. The crystalline structure and morphology of the MoS2-g-C3N4 nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microcopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM (HRTEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical property of the as-prepared nanocomposites was studied by ultraviolet visible diffusion reflection (UV-vis) and photoluminescence(PL) spectrum. It could be observed from the TEM image that the MoS2 nanosheets and g-C3N4 nanoparticles were well combined together. Moreover, the photocatalytic activity of MoS2-g-C3N4 composites was evaluated by the removal of nitric oxide under visible light irradiation (>400nm). The experimental results demonstrated that the nanocomposites with the MoS2 content of 1.5 wt% exhibited optimal photocatalytic activity and the corresponding removal rate of NO achieved 51.67%, higher than that of pure g-C3N4 nanoparticles. A possible photocatalytic mechanism for the MoS2-g-C3N4 nanocomposites with enhanced photocatalytic activity could be ascribed to the hetero-structure of MoS2 and g-C3N4.

Abstract
We aimed to investigate the role of CCAAT enhancer-binding protein α (C/EBPα) in the pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and the mechanism underlying its effect. Bone marrow specimens from 50 patients with CML and peripheral blood specimens from 20 healthy individuals were collected. K562 cells were treated with imatinib. Subsequently, a stable cell line, K562-C/EBPα, was constructed. Cell proliferation was assayed with cell counting kit-8, and mRNA levels of C/EBPα, forkhead transcription factor FKHRL1 (Foxo3a) and Bim were detected by semiquantitative PCR. The correlation of C/EBPα and BCR-ABL was assessed by Spearman's correlation analysis. The results showed that C/EBPα mRNA levels were significantly reduced in CML patients compared with healthy subjects (p < 0.001) and were negatively correlated with BCR-ABL1 (r = -0.5046, p < 0.01). Additionally, imatinib enhanced the expression of C/EBPα in K562 cells compared with untreated cells (p < 0.05). Overexpression of C/EBPα significantly decreased cell proliferation and upregulated the expressions of the apoptosis-related genes Foxo3a (p < 0.01) and Bim (p < 0.05) in K562 cells. In conclusion, C/EBPα expression was decreased in patients with CML. Imatinib enhances the expression of C/EBPα in K562 cells, and the overexpression of C/EBPα inhibits cell proliferation and increases apoptosis via the Foxo3a-Bim pathway.

Abstract
AIM Patients with schizophrenia require continuous treatment much longer than the duration of their hospitalization, which makes their family members essential in their medical care. However, the evaluation of the disease state could only be done by professionals. This prompted us to seek potent indicators of disease states that are understandable and easy to use for the patients' family. METHOD Specific items were firstly extracted from the total PANSS scale. Then 3 096 PANSS scores were analyzed using a nonlinear mixed-effects model (NONMEM). A questionnaire was subsequently developed for family members to assess and monitor the overall severity of schizophrenia. Finally this questionnaire was validated in 33 patients. RESULTS 2 items (P1 and N4) were extracted from the 8 effective remission items according to the correlation coefficients between the total PANSS score and different combinations of items. P1N4 was defined as the sum of these 2 items. A model was then developed to describe the probability of PANSS≥60, with P1N4 as indicators. The results indicated that P1N4 could make a good predictor of the overall probability of PANSS≥60, which was independent of treatment. A brief questionnaire with 7 questions was developed based on the results. External validation results indicated the questionnaire's suitability for a good assessment. CONCLUSION Questionnaire developed based on P1 and N4 may facilitate the patients' family members to better understand the disease state and help to prevent relapse.

Abstract
Leukemia often results in severe anemia, which may significantly contribute to patient mortality and morbidity. However, the mechanisms underlying defective erythropoiesis in leukemia have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we demonstrated that insufficient erythropoiesis in an immunocompetent acute myeloid leukemia (AML) murine model was due to reduced proliferation of megakaryocyte erythroid progenitors and increased apoptosis of erythroblasts. Colony-forming cell assays indicated that the leukemic bone marrow (BM) plasma inhibited erythroid colony formation, whereas they had no inhibitory effect on other types of colonies. Cytokine array analysis demonstrated that the chemokine CCL3 was elevated in the plasma of AML mice and patients. CCL3 inhibited erythroid differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells, common myeloid progenitors and especially megakaryocytic-erythroid progenitors. Administration of the CCR1 antagonist partially recovered the yield of erythroid colonies in the presence of CCL3 or leukemic BM plasma. Mechanistically, we observed an increase of p38 phosphorylation and subsequent downregulation of GATA1 after CCL3 treatment. Furthermore, knockdown of CCL3 attenuated leukemic progression and alleviated anemia. Therefore, our results demonstrate that elevated CCL3 in the leukemic environment suppresses erythropoiesis via CCR1-p38 activation, suggesting a novel mechanism for the erythroid defects observed in leukemia.

Abstract
The present study was performed to identify prevailing Fusarium species and the environmental factors affecting their frequencies and the contamination of grain with major mycotoxins in Jiangsu province. The precipitation levels were 184.2mm, 156.4mm, and 245.8mm in the years 2013-2015, respectively, and the temperature fluctuated by an average of 10.6±7.2°C in 2013, 10.9±7.2°C in 2014, and 10.6±6.3°C in 2015. Co-occurrence of deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3ADON), and 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (15ADON) were observed in wheat. The average concentrations of DON were 879.3±1127.8, 627.8±640.5, and 1628.6±2,168.0μg/kg in 2013-2015, respectively. The average concentrations of 3ADON were 43.5±59.0, 71.2±102.5, and 33.5±111.9μg/kg in 2013-2015, respectively. We found that the average concentration of DON in wheat was positively correlated with precipitation (r=0.998, p<0.01), and 3ADON was negatively correlated with precipitation (r=-0.887, p<0.05). However, there was no correlation between precipitation and 15ADON or nivalenol (NIV). The differences in temperature were not as significant as the differences in rainfall amount over a short time period. Therefore, there were no correlations between temperature and the concentrations of trichothecenes, excluding 3ADON (r=0.996, p<0.01). Our data indicated that Fusarium asiaticum is the primary pathogenic fungus prevalent in the Fusarium head blight disease nursery. The trichothecene chemotype composition differed between Fusarium graminearum sensu stricto (s. str.) and F. asiaticum isolates. The 3ADON chemotype was found only among strains of F. asiaticum. The NIV chemotype was not observed among strains of F. graminearum, while the 15ADON chemotype represented 100% of the F. graminearum strains collected. The results of this study indicated no correlations between environmental conditions and the species or genetic chemotype composition of pathogens in Jiangsu province in 2013-2015.

Abstract
It has been suggested that synapse-associated protein of 97-kDa molecular weight (SAP97) is a susceptibility factor for childhood and adult neuropsychiatric disorders. SAP97 is a scaffolding protein that shares direct and indirect binding partners with the Disrupted in Schizophrenia 1 (DISC1) gene product, a gene with strong association with neuropsychiatric disorders. Here we investigated the possibility that these two proteins converge upon a common molecular pathway. Since DISC1 modifies Wnt/β-catenin signaling via changes in glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β) phosphorylation, we asked if SAP97 impacts Wnt/β-catenin signaling and GSK3β phosphorylation. We find that SAP97 acts as inhibitor of Wnt signaling activity and can suppress the stimulatory effects of DISC1 on β-catenin transcriptional activity. Reductions in SAP97 abundance also decrease GSK3β phosphorylation. In addition, we find that over expression of DISC1 leads to an increase in the abundance of SAP97, by inhibiting its proteasomal degradation. Our findings suggest that SAP97 and DISC1 contribute to maintaining Wnt/β-catenin signaling activity within a homeostatic range by regulating GSK3β phosphorylation.

Abstract
Inflammatory pseudotumors originating in the central nervous system (CNS) are quite rare. To the best of our knowledge, the present study reports the first case of a inflammatory pseudotumor that developed in the pineal region, and describes the neuroimaging, morphological and immunohistochemical findings. A 53-year-old male presented with hearing loss that had been apparent for 1 year and blurred vision that had persisted for 10 months. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated a homogeneously-enhanced mass in the pineal region and obstructive hydrocephalus. A pathological examination revealed that the lesion was comprised predominantly of spindled cells in a collagenous background, with dense infiltrates of small lymphocytes, plasma cells and uninucleated histiocytes. Immunopositivity for cluster of differentiation (CD)138 was noted. Immunohistochemical staining showed that the cells were immunonegative for glial fibrillary acidic protein, S-100, placental alkaline phosphatase, neurofilament and Pit-Oct-Unc class 5 homeobox 1. The Ki-67 labeling index was <5%. The lymphocytic infiltrates consisted of CD3- and CD43-positive T-cells, and CD20- and CD79A-positive B-cells. Plasma cells displayed polytypic reactivity for immunoglobulin κ and λ light chains. Based on the MRI and the morphological and immunohistochemical analysis, a diagnosis of an inflammatory pseudotumor was formed. The patient underwent a surgical resection of the tumor and currently has a good prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Recurrent respiratory tract infections (RRTIs) have a negative impact on both children's health and family wellbeing. Deficiency of ZhengQi used to be an instinct factor driving RRTI in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Our clinical observations suggest that children with gastrointestinal heat retention syndrome (GHRS) may have a greater risk of catching respiratory tract infections (RTIs). GHRS is a new predisposing factor for RRTI and it is dietary related. This study is aimed to explore association between GHRS and RRTI. METHODS A prospective cohort study has been conducted in Beijing, China; children aged 1-18 were enrolled. TCM symptoms, demographic and physiological characteristics were recorded by using semi-structured questionnaire. GHRS was considered as a predisposing factor. Children were followed up for next 12 months. We contacted with their parents using a face-to-face questionnaire survey, via email or phone every 3 months. Episodes of RTIs were recorded in detail. RESULTS Three hundred thirty four children were enrolled and 307 (91.92%) followed up for 12 months. The incidence of RTI was 4.32 episodes per child-year (95 % CI 4.03-4.61). 69 (43.13%) children in the group with GHRS suffered from RRTI; there were 48 (32.65%) children in group without GHRS. The risk ratio (RR) value of RRTI occurrence was 1.32 (95 % CI 0.91-1.91, P = 0.139), and the attributable risk percent (AR%) was 24.28%. Dry stool and irritability were positively correlated with RTI episodes, age and BMI were negatively correlated with RTI episodes in a linear regression model. Dry stool (OR = 1.510) was positively correlated with RRTI occurrence, age (OR = 0.889) and BMI (OR = 0.858) were negatively correlated with RRTI occurrence in our logistic regression model. CONCLUSIONS GHRS is associated with RRTI in this cohort. Dry stool was positively associated with RRTI, and BMI was negatively associated with RRTI. Studies with larger sample size and longer follow up are needed to further evaluate this association. Relieving GHRS should be considered when TCM practitioners treat RRTI children, and this may protect children from suffering RTIs. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Mucinous differentiation is observed in a subset of lung adenocarcinomas with unique clinical and pathological features, but the biology of these neoplasms is poorly understood. METHODS We apply targeted next-generation sequencing to characterize the mutational profiles of 21 invasive mucinous adenocarcinomas, mixed mucinous/nonmucinous adenocarcinomas, and adenocarcinomas with mucinous features of the lung and validate key findings on 954 additional lung adenocarcinomas from our institution and 514 lung adenocarcinomas from The Cancer Genome Atlas. RESULTS Sequencing identifies pathogenic mutations in the oncogenes Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS), phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PIK3CA), erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2), and anaplastic lymphoma receptor tyrosine kinase (ALK) and recurrent mutations in tumor protein p53 (TP53), serine/threonine kinase 11 (STK11), NK2 homeobox 1 (NKX2-1), and SET domain containing 2 (SETD2). In the combined discovery and validation cohorts, we identify nine neoplasms with distinct molecular and pathological features. All are invasive mucinous adenocarcinomas or mixed mucinous/nonmucinous adenocarcinomas with mutations of KRAS and frameshift or nonsense mutations of NKX2-1. Immunohistochemical analysis shows that these neoplasms are associated with altered differentiation states, including loss of expression of the pulmonary marker thyroid transcription factor 1 (also called Nkx2.1) and expression of gastrointestinal markers. CONCLUSIONS These findings describe recurrent NKX2-1 mutations in invasive mucinous adenocarcinomas of the lung and support NKX2-1 as a lineage-specific tumor suppressor gene in lung carcinogenesis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Food insecurity, defined as the limited or uncertain availability of nutritious and safe foods, is a complex phenomenon and is linked to poor nutrition and diet-sensitive chronic diseases. Dietary patterns that include saturated fats and meat products are potential risk factors for the progression of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This study explored whether there is a relationship between food insecurity and PAD among a national sample of older adults. DESIGN We conducted a cross-sectional data analysis using data from the 1999-2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Food security was assessed using the US Household Food Security Survey Module. Bivariate analyses were conducted using the Rao-Scott Chi-square test to examine associations between PAD and sociodemographic variables. Multivariable generalized logistic regression was employed to assess the effect of food security on the presence of PAD, with adjustment for respondent's socio demographic characteristics. PARTICIPANTS A total of 2,027 adults with PAD were included (Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) score ≤ 0.90).We excluded participants less than 60 years of age. RESULTS Compared to older adults who are food secure, those who are food insecure have an increased risk for PAD. Food insecurity is associated with peripheral arterial disease among older adults (adults adjusted odds ratio, 1.50 [95% CI 1.11-2.03). CONCLUSION Older adults with peripheral arterial disease are experiencing food insecurity. While nutrition and PAD are not well-defined, previous literature indicates there is a connection between food insecurity and diet-sensitive chronic diseases (diabetes and hypertension) which are risk factors for PAD. Food insecurity should be taken into consideration when treating older adults with PAD to help decrease poor health outcomes that are linked to an insufficient amount of nutritious foods.

Abstract
Dermal melanocytosis refers to a spectrum of benign melanocytic proliferations that includes Mongolian spot, nevus of Ota and nevus of Ito. These lesions most commonly occur in persons of Asian or African descent and are often present at birth or develop during childhood. Very rarely, dermal melanocytoses undergo malignant transformation. There have been only 13 reports in the literature of primary cutaneous melanoma arising in dermal melanocytoses. We report a case of a Chinese woman with melanoma arising in a congenital nevus of Ito. We performed targeted next-generation sequencing of the tumor which revealed mutations of GNAQ and BAP1, suggesting that alterations in these two genes led to malignant transformation of the nevus of Ito. We also provide a summary of reports in the literature regarding primary cutaneous melanoma arising in the context of dermal melanocytosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of R ± BEACOP protocol on newly diagnosed patients with moderate and high risk diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). METHODS The clinical data of 19 newly diagnosed patients with moderate and high risk DLBCL received at least 2 cycles of R ± BEACOP protocol during 2011 to 2014 were collected, their therapeutic efficacy and side effects were evaluated by retrospective analysis. RESULTS The overall response rate of 19 assessable patients was 94.7%, including 5 patients (26.3%) in complete remission (CR) and 13 patients (68.4%) in partial remission (PR). The major toxicity was hematologic toxicity and the incidence of grade III-IV hematologic toxicity was 73.7%. Other toxicities were mild and no treatment-related death occurred. CONCLUSION R ± BEACOP protocol is a effective and safe protocol for the patients with DLBCL which is worth further multicenter prospectively studying in china.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression and the possible mechanism of the transcription factor C/EBPα in chronic myeloid leukemia(CML). METHODS Bone marrow samples from 50 CML patients(including 33 patients in chronic phase, 7 in accelerated phase and 10 in blast crisis)and peripheral blood specimens of 20 healthy donors were collected. The expression of C/EBPα gene and the effect of Imatinib on its expression was detected by RT- PCR. C/EBPα gene was inserted into lentivirus expression vector pLVX- EGFP- 3FLAG- Puro by recombinant DNA technology to construct C/EBPα stable expression in K562 cells. Cell proliferation was assayed by CCK-8. The expressions of Foxo3a and Bim genes were detected by RT-PCR. RESULTS The level of C/EBPα expression was significantly declined in CML patients compared with that of normal control group(P<0.01)and had negative correlation with bcr- abl expression(Spearman r=- 0.505, P<0.01). The stable K562- C/EBPα cell line was successfully established and confirmed by RT-PCR and Western blot. Cell proliferation ability was lower in the K562- C/EBPα group than that in the non- transfection and mock-vehicle groups. The expressions of Foxo3a and Bim genes were 1.06 ± 0.06 and 0.53 ± 0.07, respectively, which was higher than that of nontransfection and mock-vehicle groups(P<0.01, P<0.05). CONCLUSION C/EBPα expression was decreased in CML patients, overexpression of C/EBPα could inhibit K562 cell growth.

Abstract
A first-order phase transition from a high-density liquid to a low-density liquid has been proposed to explain the various thermodynamic anomies of water. It also has been proposed that such liquid-liquid phase transition would exist in supercooled silicon. Computer simulation studies show that, across the transition, the diffusivity drops roughly 2 orders of magnitude, and the structures exhibit considerable tetrahedral ordering. The resulting phase is a highly viscous, low-density liquid silicon. Investigations on the atomic diffusion of such a novel form of liquid silicon are of high interest. Here we report such diffusion results from molecular dynamics simulations using the classical Stillinger-Weber (SW) potential of silicon. We show that the atomic diffusion of the low-density liquid is highly correlated with local tetrahedral geometries. We also show that atoms diffuse through hopping processes within short ranges, which gradually accumulate to an overall random motion for long ranges as in normal liquids. There is a close relationship between dynamical heterogeneity and hopping process. We point out that the above diffusion mechanism is closely related to the strong directional bonding nature of the distorted tetrahedral network. Our work offers new insights into the complex behavior of the highly viscous low density liquid silicon, suggesting similar diffusion behaviors in other tetrahedral coordinated liquids that exhibit liquid-liquid phase transition such as carbon and germanium.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To detect the molecular cytogenetic abnormalities in different bone marrow samples of multiple myeloma by using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technology. The bone marrow cells from 48 cases of MM were taken for sorting the plasma cells using CD138 magnetic beads, and the biopsy tissue from 10 cases of MM was taken and embedded in parafin, then the 2 kinds of samples were detected by using FISH. D13s319/RB1, 1q21/P53, IgH, IgH/FGFR3, IgH/MAF probes were detected in 58 patients with new diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM) by FISH technology. RESULTS Fluorescent signals were both seen in 2 different types of bone marrow samples and cytogenetic aberrations were detected in 30/58 (51.7%) patients, 29.3% (17 out of 58) cases had both D13S319 and RB1 deletion. The positive rates of P53 deletion, 1q21 amplification and IgH rearrangement were 12%, 27.6% and 20.7%, respectively. Only 7 cases (23.3%) had one cytogenetic abnormality, other 23 (76.7%) cases all had 2 to 5 kinds of different abnormalities. CONCLUSION More than half of MM patients have cytogenetic change, and most of them are complex chromosomal abnormality. The different kinds of samples can expand the useful extension of FISH technology and acquire more cytogenetic information for clinician.

Abstract
Due to the nonlinearity and time variation of a two-axis inertially stabilized platform (ISP) system, the conventional feedback control cannot be utilized directly. To realize the control performance with fast dynamic response and high stabilization precision, the dynamic model of the ISP system is expected to match the ideal model which satisfies the desired control performance. Therefore, a composite control method based on the adaptive radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) feedback control and the extended state observer (ESO), is proposed for ISP. The adaptive RBFNN is proposed to generate the feedback control parameters online. Based on the state error information in the working process, the adaptive RBFNN can be constructed and optimized directly. Therefore, no priori training data is needed for the construction of the RBFNN. Furthermore, a linear second-order ESO is constructed to compensate for the composite disturbance. The asymptotic stability of the proposed control method has been proven by the Lyapunov stability theory. The applicability of the proposed method is validated by a series of simulations and flight tests.

Abstract
Celiac disease (CD) is a common autoimmune disorder characterized by heightened immunological response to ingested gluten. Certain gene polymorphisms of IL2/IL21 (rs6822844 and rs6840978) and SH2B3 (rs3184504) may influence susceptibility to CD, although the effects remain unclear. We performed a meta-analysis of the associations between rs6822844, rs6840978, and rs3184504 polymorphisms and CD risk. PubMed, EMBASE, and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched. ORs and 95%CIs of each single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) were estimated using the fixed-effect model if I(2) < 50% in the test of heterogeneity; otherwise, the random-effect model was used. Our meta-analysis included 12,986 CD cases and 28,733 controls from 16 independent samples, and the analysis of each SNP contained a subset of the total. We found that the minor allele T of both rs6822844 (T vs G, OR = 0.72, 95%CI = 0.67-0.78, P < 0.001) and rs6840978 (T vs C, OR = 0.76, 95%CI = 0.71-0.83, P < 0.001) in IL2/IL21 significantly decreased the risk of CD. However, the minor allele A of rs3184504 (A vs G, OR = 1.18, 95%CI = 1.12-1.24, P < 0.001) in SH2B3 significantly increased CD susceptibility. The estimated lambda values were 0.49, 0.50, and 0.53 for rs6822844, rs6840978, and rs3184504, respectively, suggesting that a co-dominant model of genotype effect was most appropriate for the three SNPs. Our results support associations between the three SNPs and CD and provide a strong argument for further research.

Abstract
Transforming growth factor alpha (TGFα) belongs to the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family and is known to play an important role during eyelid morphogenesis. In this study, we showed that ectopic expression of TGFα in the stroma of Kera-rtTA/tet-O-TGFα bitransgenic mice results in precocious eye opening, abnormal morphogenesis of the meibomian gland, tendon and tarsal plate malformation and epithelium hyperplasia. TGFα did not change proliferation and differentiation of meibocytes, but promoted proliferation and inhibited differentiation of the tarsal plate tenocytes. These results suggest that proper formation of the tendon and tarsal plate in the mouse eyelid is required for normal morphogenesis of the meibomian gland.
