Abstract
Objective: To compare the predictive value of PSS, APACHEII, SAPSII and SOFA in the prognosis evaluation of acute poisoning. Methods: Clinical data (including PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score, within 24 hours after admission) of 231 acute poisoning patients admitted to the emergency intensive care unit EICU of our hospital from January 2015 to October 2016 was retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into the survival group and the dead group according to the 28-day clinical outcomes, comparing the differences of clinical data in each group. To analyze the correlation between PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score in each group, comparing the value and the area under the ROC curve of four scoring systems and evaluate the predictive value of the four scoring systems. Results: Comparing with the survival group and the dead group, PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score were significantly different (P<0.01) . PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score were significantly positive correlation (P<0.01) , the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of the four scoring systems were 0.833, 0.887, 0.843 and 0.843 respectively. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) of APACHEII score was higher than PSS score, SAPSII score and SOFA score, the difference was statistically significant (z=2.351, 2.317, 2.217; P=0.019, 0.021, 0.027) , there was no significant difference in the area (AUC) between the three scoring curves (P>0.05) . The cutoff value (cut-off) , sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rates of PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score were (2.5, 93.1%, 50.9%, 61.5%) , (14.5, 82.8%, 75.7%, 77.48%) , (31.5, 77.6%, 76.90%, 77.08%) , (5.5, 77.60%, 74.60%, 75.35%) . Conclusion: PSS score, APACHEII score, SAPSII score and SOFA score can evaluate the prognosis of patients with acute poisoning, but the APACHEII score is better than the other three scoring systems in evaluating the prognosis for its evaluation ability and accuracy rate.

Abstract
The goal of this study was to investigate the influence of l-arginine (l-Arg) supplementation on diet-induced changes in hypothalamus and liver proteome of laying hens. Layers were fed either an isonitrogenous control diet or a l-Arg diet. The test included a 2-week acclimation period and a 12-week experimental period. Eight layers per group were sacrificed at terminal of the experiment underwent 12 fasting. Blood and tissue samples of hypothalamus and liver were collected for further analysis. The levels of serum nitric oxide and hypothalamus neuropeptide Y of layers in l-Arg group were increased in comparison with those in control group. Quantitative proteomic analyses showed that a total of 3,715 hypothalamus proteins (235 differentially expressed) and 3797 liver proteins (373 differentially expressed) were detected between control and l-Arg-fed groups. A further enriched Gene Ontology term analysis of proteins found that 17 hypothalamus proteins (11 upregulated and six downregulated) and 29 liver proteins (14 upregulated and 15 downregulated) were altered differentially between the two groups. Our findings revealed the changes in metabolic and hormonal signals in central nervous system and peripheral tissues by responding to l-Arg feeding, which provides a possible way to gain a better understanding of l-Arg function in laying hens.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to test the effects of dietary L-arginine (Arg) levels on protein turnover in the small intestine and the expression of genes related to protein synthesis and proteolysis of laying hens. Xinyang Black commercial laying hens (n = 864, aged 217 d) were randomly distributed to 6 treatments with 4 replicates of 36 birds. The dietary treatments were corn-corn gluten meal based diets containing 0.64, 0.86, 1.03, 1.27, 1.42 and 1.66% L-Arg, respectively. Fractional protein synthesis rate (FSR) and fractional protein gain rate (FGR) in the jejunum were the highest in the 1.27% L-Arg group. The mRNA expression of target of rapamycin (TOR), ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 (S6K1), and eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) in the duodenum reached the highest in the 1.27% L-Arg group, while the mRNA expression of 20S proteasome (20S) was the lowest in the 1.27% L-Arg group. The mRNA abundances of TOR and S6K1 in the jejunum were the highest in the 1.27% L-Arg group, while the mRNA expression of 20S was the lowest in the 1.27% L-Arg group, and the protein expression and phosphorylation levels of TOR in the 1.27% L-Arg group were higher than those in the 0.64% L-Arg group. These results indicate that the action of an appropriate level of dietary L-Arg to improve the protein synthesis of the small intestine involves up-regulating the protein expression and phosphorylation level of TOR in the jejunum accompanied by inhibiting the mRNA expression of 20S of laying hens.

Abstract
In this study, the genetic diversity and population structure of 205 wild soybean core collections in Northeast China from nine latitude populations and nine longitude populations were evaluated using SSR markers. A total of 973 alleles were detected by 43 SSR loci, and the average number of alleles per locus was 22.628. The mean Shannon information index (I) and the mean expected heterozygosity were 2.528 and 0.879, respectively. At the population level, the regions of 42°N and 124°E had the highest genetic diversity among all latitudes and longitudes. The greater the difference in latitude was, the greater the genetic distance was, whereas a similar trend was not found in longitude populations. Three main clusters (1N, <41°N-42°N; 2N, 43°N-44°N; and 3N, 45°N->49°N) were assigned to populations. AMOVA analysis showed that the genetic differentiation among latitude and longitude populations was 0.088 and 0.058, respectively, and the majority of genetic variation occurred within populations. The Mantel test revealed that genetic distance was significantly correlated with geographical distance (r = 0.207, p < 0.05). Furthermore, spatial autocorrelation analysis showed that there was a spatial structure (ω = 119.58, p < 0.01) and the correlation coefficient (r) decreased as distance increased within a radius of 250 km.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to determine whether different radiotherapy (RT) fractionation schemes induce disparate effects on lymphocyte and its subsets in breast cancer patients. METHODS 60 female patients diagnosed with breast cancer were recruited in this study after receiving modified radical mastectomy and were randomly divided into two groups. One group received irradiation at a standard dose of 50 Gy in 25 fractions and the other at a dose of 40.3 Gy in 13 fractions. Both total lymphocyte count and its composition were recorded at three timepoints: right before the radiation treatment (T0), immediately after the last fraction of radiotherapy (T1) and 6 months after irradiation therapy ended (T2). RESULTS Both groups experienced temporal lymphopenia after finishing local radiation (T1) (13F T0 vs. T1 1570.6 ± 243.9 vs. 940.6 ± 141.8, **p < 0.01; 25F T0 vs. T1 1620.5 ± 280.2 vs. 948.5 ± 274.6, **p < 0.01), while the lymphocyte count recovered at follow-up time (T2), and the cell count in the hypofractionation group (13F) was higher than the standard fraction group (25F) (13F vs. 25F 1725.6 ± 225.6 vs. 1657.5 ± 242.4, *p < 0.05). With respect to the composition of lymphocyte, we found T cell, B cell, and NK cell reacted differently to different radiotherapy protocols. CONCLUSIONS Different RT protocols impose different impacts on immunity, leading us to further explore the optimal radiotherapy regimes to synergy with immunotherapy.

Abstract
Background Observational studies suggest that higher levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)D) are associated with a reduced risk of colorectal cancer and improved survival of colorectal cancer patients. However, the influence of vitamin D status on cancer recurrence and survival of patients with stage III colon cancer is unknown. Patients and methods We prospectively examined the influence of post-diagnosis predicted plasma 25(OH)D on outcome among 1016 patients with stage III colon cancer who were enrolled in a National Cancer Institute-sponsored adjuvant therapy trial (CALGB 89803). Predicted 25(OH)D scores were computed using validated regression models. We examined the influence of predicted 25(OH)D scores on cancer recurrence and mortality (disease-free survival; DFS) using Cox proportional hazards. Results Patients in the highest quintile of predicted 25(OH)D score had an adjusted hazard ratio (HR) for colon cancer recurrence or mortality (DFS) of 0.62 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.44-0.86), compared with those in the lowest quintile (Ptrend = 0.005). Higher predicted 25(OH)D score was also associated with a significant improvement in recurrence-free survival and overall survival (Ptrend = 0.01 and 0.0004, respectively). The benefit associated with higher predicted 25(OH)D score appeared consistent across predictors of cancer outcome and strata of molecular tumor characteristics, including microsatellite instability and KRAS, BRAF, PIK3CA, and TP53 mutation status. Conclusion Higher predicted 25(OH)D levels after a diagnosis of stage III colon cancer may be associated with decreased recurrence and improved survival. Clinical trials assessing the benefit of vitamin D supplementation in the adjuvant setting are warranted. ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT00003835.

Abstract
Identification of carotid artery atherosclerosis is conventionally based on measurements of luminal stenosis and surface irregularities using in vivo imaging techniques including sonography, CT and MR angiography, and digital subtraction angiography. However, histopathologic studies demonstrate considerable differences between plaques with identical degrees of stenosis and indicate that certain plaque features are associated with increased risk for ischemic events. The ability to look beyond the lumen using highly developed vessel wall imaging methods to identify plaque vulnerable to disruption has prompted an active debate as to whether a paradigm shift is needed to move away from relying on measurements of luminal stenosis for gauging the risk of ischemic injury. Further evaluation in randomized clinical trials will help to better define the exact role of plaque imaging in clinical decision-making. However, current carotid vessel wall imaging techniques can be informative. The goal of this article is to present the perspective of the ASNR Vessel Wall Imaging Study Group as it relates to the current status of arterial wall imaging in carotid artery disease.

Abstract
The binding interactions of bisphenol A (BPA) and its halogenated derivatives (halogenated BPAs) to human estrogen receptor α ligand binding domain (hERα-LBD) was investigated using a combined in vitro and in silico approach. First, the recombinant hERα-LBD was prepared as a soluble protein in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3)pLysS. A native fluorescent phytoestrogen, coumestrol, was employed as tracer for the fluorescence polarization assay. The results of the in vitro binding assay showed that bisphenol compounds could bind to hERα-LBD as the affinity ligands. All the tested halogenated BPAs exhibited weaker receptor binding than BPA, which might be explained by the steric effect of substituents. Molecular docking studies elucidated that the halogenated BPAs adopted different conformations in the flexible hydrophobic ligand binding pocket (LBP), which is mainly dependent on their distinct halogenation patterns. The compounds with halogen substituents on the phenolic rings and on the bridging alkyl moiety acted as agonists and antagonists for hERα, respectively. Interestingly, all the compounds in the agonist conformation of hERα formed a hydrogen bond with His524, while the compounds in the antagonist conformation formed a hydrogen bond with Thr347. These docking results suggested a pivotal role of His524/Thr347 in maintaining the hERα structure in the biologically active agonist/antagonist conformation. Comparison of the calculated binding energies vs. experimental binding affinities yielded a good correlation, which might be applicable for the structure-based design of novel bisphenol compounds with reduced toxicities and for environmental risk assessment. In addition, based on hERα-LBD as a recognition element, the proposed fluorescence polarization assay may offer an alternative to chromatographic techniques for the multi-residue determination of bisphenol compounds.

Abstract
This review reports the pork quality attributes, Warner-Bratzler Shear Force, Slice Shear Force, Star Probe, pH, marbling, color (Minolta L*/L or Hunter L*/L), and sensory tenderness evaluation, in control groups used in comparative nutrition experiments over the past 20 yr. The original aim of this study was to evaluate if changes in pork quality based on the above metrics occurred over time. To address this question, it was anticipated that data may come from 3 sources with decreasing relevance: representative retail pork surveys, representative post-harvest carcass surveys, and control groups from comparative nutrition experiments. To identify the study population, a review of studies reported in Centre for Agricultural Biosciences International Abstracts (Web of Knowledge; 1994–2014) was conducted. Two national level surveys of retail pork and 146 relevant nutritional experiments studies, with 228 control groups, were identified by the search. It was not possible to conduct a meta-analysis of the retail pork surveys based on only 2 time points. For the comparative studies, a random effects meta-analysis was conducted with year as a covariate to assess the impact of time on the outcome. In the absence of modifiers, there was no evidence of meaningful change in the mean Warner-Bratzler Shear Force, pH, color, marbling, or sensory scores over the study period. There was evidence of substantial between-study heterogeneity in the characteristics of control pigs used over the years for Warner-Bratzler Shear Force and measures of color. The absence of publicly-available representative surveys of pork quality meant the changes in pork quality over time were not clear. If changes in pork quality have occurred, the data suggest that pigs used as controls in experiments may have become less representative of commercial pigs over time and the translatability of study findings from nutrition experiments might be reduced over time. Alternately, if commercial pigs have not changed, then control pigs reflect this. The study does not address if control groups in other experimental intervention studies had similar tenderness patterns as reported here for nutritional interventions. A large amount of potentially available data was excluded from the analysis due to incomplete reporting in the original study reports.

Abstract
Soybean cyst nematode (SCN; Heterodera glycines; HG) is a widely occurring and damaging pathogen that limits soybean production. Developing resistant cultivars is the most cost-effective method for managing this disease. Genes conferring SCN resistance in soybean have been identified; however, there are SCN populations that overcome known resistance genes. In order to identify additional sources of resistance and potentially new resistance genes, 223 plant introductions (PIs) of G. tomentella and 59 PIs of 12 other perennial Glycine species were inoculated with HG Types 0, HG 2, and HG 1.2.3, and then 36 PIs out of this set were further evaluated with HG Type 1.2.3.4.5.6.7, a population that overcomes all the resistance genes in soybean. Of 223 G. tomentella PIs evaluated, 86 were classified as resistant to three HG types, 69 as resistant to two HG types, and 22 as resistant to one HG type. Of the other 12 perennial Glycine species, all PIs of G. argyrea and G. pescadrensis were resistant to all three HG types. Of the 36 PIs challenged with HG Type 1.2.3.4.5.6.7, 35 were resistant with 16 showing no cyst reproduction. Our study confirms that there are high levels of resistance to SCN among the perennial Glycine species. This represents an untapped resource for use in genetic studies and for improving resistance to SCN in soybean.

Impact of various antithrombotic therapeutic strategies on the outcome of coronary heart disease patients combining with atrial fibrillation were evaluated. Results: In this meta analysis, 12 randomized controlled trials with 11 353 patients were included. Among these patients, 3 486 patients received triple antithrombotic therapy and 7 867 patients received dual anti-platelet therapy. There was no significant difference in incidence rate of MACE (OR=0.93, 95%CI 0.74-1.18, P>0.05) and the incidence rate of ischemic stroke (OR=0.88, 95%CI 0.70-1.10, P=0.27) between the two patients groups. However, the incidence rate of major bleeding events in triple antithrombotic therapy group was twice higher than that in dual anti-platelet therapy (OR=1.94, 95%CI 1.33-2.82, P=0.000 6). Conclusion: Compared with dual anti-platelet therapy strategy, coronary heart disease patients combining with atrial fibrillation who were treated by triple antithrombotic therapy strategy have the similar outcome on risk of ischemic stroke, but higher risk of major bleeding events.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of a low dose imaging protocol on reducing X-ray dose level in pediatric supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablation procedure. Method: Data were collected from 103 patients who underwent catheter ablation for SVT in Children's Hospital of Fudan University from January 2014 to October 2016 in terms of body weight, body surface area (BSA), SVT types, accessory pathway location, fluoroscopy time and the radiation dose (including AIR KERMA and dose area product) in a case observational study. The fluoroscopy protocols were operated at 36 nGy/frame and 10 frames/s (Standard group, n=47) from January 2014 to September 2015, 36 nGy/frame and 10 frames/s with removal of the grid (Grid-out group, n=24) from October 2015 to April 2016, as well as 23 nGy/frame and 4.0-7.5 frames/s without the grid (Grid-out plus low dose group, n=32) from May 2016 to October 2016, respectively.Comparisons among groups were performed by independent-sample t-test or one-way analysis of variance for normally distributed continuous variables, and χ(2) test for categorical variables. Result: The average body weight, BSA, fluoroscopy time and AIR KERMA of the three groups was (34±14) kg, (1.14±0.33) m(2,) (11±8) minutes and (12.97±12.43) mGy, respectively. No significant differences in body weight (F=2.551), BSA (F=2.359), SVT types (χ(2)=6.15), and accessory pathway location (χ(2)=3.438) were observed among these three groups (P>0.05). Images acquired by low dose protocol could provide enough information for procedures, and no complication occurred. The acute success rates were 100% in all of these three groups, and there was no significant difference in mean fluoroscopy time (F=0.004, P>0.05) among them. However, the radiation dose (AIR KERMA) in the Grid-out plus low dose group was much lower than that in the Standard group ((7.54±7.31) mGy vs. (16.25±12.08) mGy, F=6.112, P<0.01)). Conclusion: The new strategy of combination of low dose fluoroscopy protocol with removal of grid markedly reduced radiation exposure to children undergoing supraventricular tachycardia ablation while maintaining procedural efficacy and safety.

Abstract
Ovarian aging has been associated with increased levels of reactive oxygen species and the deficiencies of antioxidant defense. The antioxidant peroxiredoxin 4 (Prdx4), as a member of Prdx protein family, controls cellular oxidative stress by reducing H2O2 levels. In previous studies, we provided evidence that Prdx4 was abundantly expressed in mouse and human ovaries and expression of Prdx4 in matured follicles was higher than that in immatured follicles. Accordingly, we speculated that Prdx4 expression could be associated with follicle development and it may be as a part of the antioxidative mechanism in follicular development. In this study, we demonstrated that Prdx4 was mainly expressed in the granulosa cells of mouse ovaries and the expression levels significantly increased along development of follicles. However, the expression levels of Prdx4 decreased when mice reached the aged stage (18 months old). Likewise a similar pattern that was observed in the mice study was also found in human ovaries where Prdx4 was expressed lower in premenopausal women than young women. Subsequent in vitro experiments indicated that Prdx4 mRNA and protein levels both increased with H2O2 in a concentrationdependent manner, but decreased rapidly with high concentration of H2O2, and the changes were closely related to cell proliferation. Taken together, these findings argue our understanding on the role of oxidative stress and antioxidant in follicular development and ovarian aging.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nowadays, the diagnosis for sensitive skin relies on subjective assessment or on the combination of subjective and objective evaluation. No quantitative evaluation is available. It could be expected that confocal microscopy imaging could be of interest to better define the condition. METHODS Total 166 healthy female subjects were recruited in this study. Firstly, all subjects completed the sensitive questionnaire. Then, the cutaneous structures were measured by the reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) on the face and fossa cubitalia. The lactic acid sting test was conducted finally. According to the results of self-perception sensitive skin questionnaire and lactic acid stinging test to evaluate facial skin sensitivity the both positive subjects were regarded as sensitive skin group and both negative group as healthy control group. RESULT The results of RCM indicating that the proportion of 'disarranged honeycomb pattern' and 'spongiform edema' in the sensitive group and healthy control group were statistically different (P < 0.05), respectively; The following report 'damaged dermal papilla rings' was not a distinctive pattern, with no significant statistical difference (P > 0.05). The epidermal thickness was 38.88 ± 6.81 μm, healthy control group was 40.31 ± 9.37 μm in, respectively, sensitive skin group and healthy control group, there was no significant statistical difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The honeycomb structure depth of sensitive group was 20.57 ± 4.86 μm. It was for 23.27 ± 6.38 μm, healthy control group the difference being statistically different between the two groups (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Based on the RCM results, 'epidermal honeycomb structure' and 'spongiform edema' may be used as new skin signs of RCM evaluation of sensitive skin effectively. Indeed, sensitive skin honeycomb structure depth was thinner compared with healthy control group. Such a specific pattern has good clinical and monitoring value for the further exploration. RCM could provide new data and patterns for the evaluation of sensitive skin.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the influence of leptin receptor (LEPR) gene K109R polymorphism on the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its interaction with PNPLA3 I148M polymorphism in the Han Chinese population in Qingdao, China. METHODS Blood samples were collected from 296 NAFLD patients and 321 healthy controls, and the genotypes of these patients were determined by PCR and genotyping. Related statistical analyses were performed to compare genotypes, alleles, and clinical data between the two groups. Generalized multifactor dimensionality reduction (GMDR) was used to investigate the interaction between LEPR K109R and PNPLA3 I148M genes. RESULTS The distribution of LEPR K109R genotypes and alleles showed no significant differences between the NAFLD group and the control group (P > 0.05). PNPLA3 I148M gene polymorphisms were closely associated with the risk of NAFLD, and the risk of NAFLD in G mutant gene carriers was 2.07 times that in patients who did not carry this gene (OR = 2.07, 95% CI 1.423-3.013, P < 0.001). The joint action of LEPR K109R and PNPLA3 I148M significantly increased the risk of NAFL (OR = 3.393, 95% CI 1.856-6.201, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION In the Han Chinese population in Qingdao, LEPR K109R gene polymorphism is not associated with the risk of NAFLD, but its interaction with PNPLA3 I148M polymorphism can significantly increase the risk of NAFLD.

Abstract
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) allows for a significantly lower radiation dose than conventional computed tomography (CT) scans and provides accurate images of the alveolar cleft area. The osteogenic effect of guided bone regeneration (GBR) vs. conventional alveolar bone grafting alone for alveolar cleft defects was evaluated in this study. Sixty alveolar cleft patients were divided randomly into two groups. One group underwent GBR using acellular dermal matrix film combined with alveolar bone grafting using iliac crest bone grafts (GBR group), while the other group underwent alveolar bone grafting only (non-GBR group). CBCT images were obtained at 1 week and at 3 months following the procedure. Using Simplant 11.04 software, the bone resorption rate was calculated and compared between the two groups. The bone resorption rate from 1 week to 3 months following bone grafting without the GBR technique was 36.50±5.04%, whereas the bone resorption rate using the GBR technique was 31.69±5.50% (P=0.017). The application of autogenous iliac bone combined with the GBR technique for alveolar bone grafting of alveolar cleft patients can reduce bone resorption and result in better osteogenesis.

Abstract
BackgroundLight chain deposition disease (LCDD) is usually a systemic disorder characterised by non-amyloid monoclonal immunoglobulin light chain deposition in tissues. Localised nodular pulmonary (NP) LCDD is a rare and poorly characterised entity and, owing to the difficulties in diagnosis, limited data are available.MethodsWe investigated the clinical, radiological and pathological characteristics of a series of six confidently diagnosed cases of NPLCDD.ResultsThere were three men and three women with ages ranging from 33 to 74 years. In all cases there were single or multiple pulmonary nodules, in one case associated with cysts. Two patients had no previous history of a lymphoproliferative or autoimmune disorder, two had Sjögren syndrome (SS) and two had extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma). Lung biopsies led to diagnoses of MALT lymphoma in four patients, including both of those with a previous history of lymphoma and one with SS. In five cases the diagnosis was confirmed by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) and in one by electron microscopy. There was no evidence of systemic LCDD in any of the cases. Five patients had an indolent course in spite of limited therapeutic intervention while, in the patient who died, the cause of death was related to the spread of the lymphoma and was not due to the pulmonary lesions.ConclusionsNPLCDD is an indolent disease, in most cases associated with MALT lymphoma or autoimmune disease.

Abstract
Objective To determine factors that may predict intestinal pseudo-obstruction (IpsO) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients complicated by digestive manifestations. Methods SLE patients with digestive manifestations ( n = 135) were followed at Southern Medical University affiliated Nanfang Hospital from 2000 until 2013. Demographic variables, clinical features, and laboratory data were compared between the two groups. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to establish factors that predispose to IpsO in these patients. Results At the end of the study period, 32 (23.7%) patients had developed IpsO. Mortality (9 patients) was infrequent and the cause of death was unrelated to IpsO. Independent predictors of IpsO in SLE were ureterectasia, anti-U1 RNP+, peritonitis, and low C3 levels. Conclusions Regular abdominal X-ray examinations are recommended in SLE patients with ureterectasia, anti-U1 RNP+, peritonitis, or low C3 levels, as early diagnosis and therapy may prevent unnecessary surgical intervention and improve the disease course.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Craniocervical artery dissection is the most common cause of ischemic stroke identified in young adults. For the diagnosis of craniocervical artery dissection, multisequence MR imaging is recommended but is time-consuming. Recently, investigators proposed a simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging technique allowing simultaneous noncontrast MRA and vessel wall imaging in a single scan. This study sought to investigate the feasibility of 3D simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage MR imaging in the characterization of craniocervical artery dissection. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-four symptomatic patients (mean age, 45.0 ± 16.1 years; 21 men) with suspected craniocervical artery dissection were recruited. The 3D simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage 3D TOF MRA and black-blood imaging sequences were performed on a 3T MR imaging scanner. The agreement between simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging and multisequence MR imaging in evaluating arterial dissection was determined. RESULTS Dissection was found to involve 1 artery in 22 patients and 2 arteries in 2 patients. The intramural hematoma and luminal occlusion were detected in 19 (79.2%) and 11 (45.8%) patients, respectively. In measuring stenosis, the Cohen κ value between 3D TOF MRA and simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging was 0.82 (P < .001). All intramural hematomas on multisequence imaging were successfully identified by simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging. CONCLUSIONS 3D simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging showed excellent agreement with multisequence MR imaging in evaluating luminal stenosis and intramural hematoma in patients with craniocervical artery dissection. The simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging saved nearly 50% of scanning time compared with multisequence MR imaging. Our findings suggest that 3D simultaneous noncontrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage imaging might be an alternative, time-efficient diagnostic tool for craniocervical artery dissection.

Abstract
Abstract
Few prospective studies have investigated the relationship between pre-diagnostic obesity, smoking and prostate cancer (PCa) survival by timing of measurement, by age at diagnosis, and evaluated the interaction between obesity and smoking. METHODS: We conducted a multinational survival analysis among 10,106 PCa cases (1,007 PCa deaths and 2,893 total deaths) from eight cohorts with an average of 8.2 years of follow up. Hazard ratio (HR) of PCa death was estimated using Cox proportional hazard model, adjusting for age, alcohol intake, diabetes status, cohort and duration between baseline and diagnosis and subsequently adjusted for tumor stage and grade. RESULTS: Higher prediagnostic BMI was related to higher risk of PCa death. With each 5 kg/m2 increase in BMI, the multivariate HR for PCa death was 1.08 (95% CI, 1.02–1.14) among overall participants (p-trend = 0.01) and 1.33 (95% CI, 1.18–1.51) among never or former smokers (p-trend < 0.001). This positive trend for PCa mortality was mainly observed among men with BMI measured more than 5 years before diagnosis, and among those age >65 years old at diagnosis. Compared with never smokers, current smokers had significantly elevated risk of PCa death, with a HR of 1.92 (95% CI, 1.52–2.43) regardless of the time of measurement, age at diagnosis and BMI. After further adjusting for tumor stage and grade, the association between BMI, smoking and PCa death was attenuated but remained statistical significant. CONCLUSIONS: In this consortium study of eight large cohorts, smoking and overweight/obesity before diagnosis were significant predictors for subsequent PCa-specific mortality. Smoking significantly modifies the association of BMI and PCa-specific mortality.

Abstract
Supramolecular self-assembly driven by catechol-metal ion coordination has gained great success in the fabrication of functional materials including adhesives, capsules, coatings and hydrogels. However, this route has encountered a great challenge in the construction of nanoarchitectures in the absence of removable templates, because of the uncontrollable crosslinking of catechol-metal ion coordination. Herein, we show that a supramolecular approach, combining both catechol-metal ion coordination and polymer self-assembly together, can organize polymers into hybrid nanoassemblies ranging from solid particles, homogeneous vesicles to Janus vesicles. Without the introduction of a specific binding ligand or complicated molecular design, these assemblies can totally disassemble in response to proteins. UV/vis absorption, fluorescence quenching and recovery investigations have confirmed that proteins can seize metal ions from the hybrid nanoassemblies, thus causing the degradation of catechol-metal ion coordination networks.

Abstract
L-arginine (Arg) is an indispensable amino acid in avians and is required for growth. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of L-Arg on protein synthesis and genes expression involved in target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling pathway in chicken enterocytes. Cells were cultured for 4 days in L-Arg-free Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium containing 10, 100, 200, 400, or 600 μM L-Arg. Cell growth, cell cycle, protein synthesis, and protein degradation as well as mRNA expression levels of TOR, ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 (S6K1), and eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) were determined. The results showed that cell viability was enhanced by L-Arg with a maximal response at 10 to 400 μM. Increasing extracellular concentrations of L-Arg from 10 to 400 μM increased the cells in S and G2/M phase to a significant extent and decreased cell numbers in G0/G1 phase. Further more, addition of 100, 200, or 400 μM L-Arg to culture medium increased protein synthesis and reduced protein degradation in chicken intestinal epithelial cells. Consistent with the data on cell growth and protein turnover, supplementation of 100, 200, or 400 μM L-Arg increased the mRNA abundances of TOR, 4E-BP1, and S6K1. It was concluded the action of L-Arg involves in upregulating the genes expression of TOR cell signaling pathway which increases protein synthesis and reduces protein degradation.

Abstract
The RN-type cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) system used to develop Hybsoy-1, the first commercial hybrid soybean, has been subsequently applied to generate nearly all released soybean hybrids. Although more than 3 years are needed to classify sterile (S) and normal male-fertile (F) cytoplasms by conventional crossing, such classifications can be performed rapidly using organellar DNA-based molecular markers. Except for fertility, the agronomic traits of CMS hybrid soybean sterile and maintainer lines are identical. Consequently, it is difficult to distinguish them by routine visual inspection in the mixture arising in the course of field planting and harvesting during breeding. In this study, we performed next-generation sequencing of chloroplast DNAs of F- and S-cytoplasmic soybeans, assembled and annotated the genomes, and identified polymorphisms distinguishing them. Chloroplast DNAs of F and S cytoplasms were very similar in size (152,215 and 152,222 base pairs) and GC contents (35.37%). Among 23 shared SNPs in gene coding regions, we identified four that could be used in conjunction with restriction endonucleases to distinguish S and F cytoplasms. Although CMS is likely associated with mitochondrial DNA, maternal transmission of mitochondrial and chloroplast DNAs allows polymorphisms in either genome to be used to classify soybean cytoplasms, aiding hybrid soybean cultivar development.
