Abstract
Primary orbital melanoma (POM) is a sort of extremely rare orbital malignancy. It often associates with melanin lesion such as congenital ocular melanocytosis and blue nevus. The most common clinical manifestation of POM is progressive painless proptosis. There are some difficulties in diagnosing this disease. MRI shows characteristic expression of this disease as an important way to diagnose POM, while pathology is the gold standard. Surgery is the mainstay of treatment in patients with POM. In addition, adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be considered. This article systematically reviews the research progress of pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, auxiliary examination, differential diagnosis and treatment of POM, in order to provide some thoughts for the future study of the rare malignancy. Abstract
This study evaluated the effects of incremental tributyrin supplementation in pasteurized waste milk on growth performance, health, and blood metabolism of dairy calves before and after weaning. Forty-eight newborn female Holstein dairy calves (39.6 ± 2.75 kg; mean ± standard deviation) were blocked by age and randomly assigned to 3 treatments: pasteurized waste milk (1) without supplementation, (2) with 1 g/L of tributyrin products (unprotected solid powder; containing 35% tributyrin), or (3) with 2 g/L of tributyrin products. The calves were weaned on d 56 and were raised until d 77. Data were analyzed for the preweaning, postweaning, and overall periods. The results showed that starter intake and hay intake were not different among treatments in any period of the trial, but the crude protein intake tended to increase linearly with tributyrin supplementation during the overall period. Although tributyrin supplementation had no effects on body weight during preweaning and overall periods, body weight increased linearly with tributyrin supplementation postweaning. The average daily gain tended to increase linearly during postweaning and overall periods. No effects were observed on feed efficiency in any period. A positive linear relationship between body length and tributyrin supplementation was observed during the postweaning period, but no differences were found for the other body structural measurements in any period. The results of diarrhea showed that tributyrin concentration had a negative linear relationship with diarrhea frequency during preweaning and overall periods. The rectal temperature did not differ among treatments in any period, but a treatment × week effect for rectal body temperature was observed. For blood metabolism, tributyrin supplementation had no effects on insulin, growth hormone, total protein, albumin, or globulin. No differences were found in serum amyloid A concentration in any of the periods, yet haptoglobin concentration decreased linearly with increasing tributyrin concentration during postweaning and overall periods. Endothelin concentration showed a tendency to decrease linearly during preweaning and postweaning periods and decreased linearly with tributyrin supplementation during the overall period. An increasing tributyrin concentration was associated with a negative linear relationship with IL-1β concentration during the preweaning period, and no differences were found in the other periods. The concentration of IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor α were not different among treatments in any of the periods. These data suggest that increasing the concentration of tributyrin in pasteurized waste milk could increase growth performance and health of dairy calves, and incremental tributyrin supplementation could linearly reduce haptoglobin, endothelin, and IL-1β concentrations, indicating a positive effect of tributyrin on alleviating oxidative stress and inflammatory status of dairy calves. Calves fed pasteurized waste milk supplemented with tributyrin products (containing 35% tributyrin) at 2 g/L compared with 1 g/L of milk had more improved growth and health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Delays to reperfusion negatively impact outcomes of patients with ischemic stroke, yet current guidelines recommend selective sequential imaging for thrombectomy candidates. We aimed to quantify and analyze time delays associated with rescanning in sequential acute stroke imaging. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent imaging for treatment decision-making from January 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Rescan time delay was defined as ≥10-minute difference between initial NCCT and CTA ± CTP. Mean rescan time delays in comprehensive and primary stroke centers were compared. Bivariate and multivariable regression analyses assessed clinical and imaging factors associated with rescanning time delays and early outcomes. RESULTS A total of 588 patients with acute ischemic were included in statistical analyses. Rescanning occurred in 27.9% (164/588 patients), with a mean time delay of 53.7 (SD, 43.4) minutes. For patients presenting at primary compared with comprehensive stroke centers, rescan time delays were more common (59.6% versus 11.8%, P < .001), with longer delays (65.4 [SD, 45.4] minutes versus 23.6 [SD, 14.0] minutes, P < .001). Independent predictors of rescan time delays included primary stroke center presentation, intravenous thrombolysis administration, black race, admission NIHSS ≥10, baseline independent ambulation, and onset-to-comprehensive stroke center arrival in ≥6 hours. Protocols for early simultaneous comprehensive CT (NCCT + CTA + CTP) were associated with lower odds of time delays (OR = 0.34; 95% CI, 0.21-0.55). Rescanning was associated with lower odds of home discharge (OR = 0.53; 95% CI, 0.30-0.95). CONCLUSIONS A sequential approach to CT-based imaging may be significantly associated with prolonged acute stroke evaluations. Adoption of early simultaneous comprehensive CT could minimize treatment delays and improve outcomes.

Abstract
Plant architecture plays a major role in canopy photosynthesis and biomass production, and plants adjust their growth (and thus architecture) in response to changing environments. Leaf angle is one of the most important traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) plant architecture, because leaf angle strongly affects leaf direction and rice production, with more-erect leaves being advantageous for high-density plantings. The degree of leaf bending depends on the morphology of the lamina joint, which connects the leaf and the sheath. In this review, we discuss cell morphology in different lamina joint tissues and describe the underlying genetic network that governs this morphology and thus regulates leaf direction. Furthermore, we focus on the mechanism by how environmental factors influence rice leaf angle. Our review provides a theoretical framework for the future genetic improvement of rice leaf orientation and plant architecture.

Abstract
Objective: We conducted a Meta-analysis to investigate the necessity of postural restrictions after manual reduction in the treatment of posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (PC-BPPV). Methods: We searched PubMed, EBSCO, Proquest, Web of Science databases, Ovid, and screened eligible studies that investigated the effect of post-maneuver postural restriction in treating patients with PC-BPPV. Outcomes included the efficacy of treatment and recurrence. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 15.0 software. Results: Studies of the single visit efficiency included 11 references, with a sample size of 1 733 cases. The Meta-analysis results showed that the difference in the efficacy between the postural restricted group and the non-postural restricted group in PC-BPPV patients was statistically significant(RR=1.12, 95%CI=1.07-1.18, P<0.001). There were 12 references included in the study on the total efficiency, with a cumulative sample size of 1763 cases. There was no statistically significant difference between the effect of postural restriction after manipulative reduction and that of simple manipulative reduction (RR=1.03, 95%CI=0.99-1.08, P=0.118). There were 5 references included in the study of recurrence rate, and the cumulative sample size was 659 cases. There was no statistically significant difference in the recurrence rate between the postural restricted group and the non-postural restricted group(RR=0.98, 95%CI=0.62-1.54, P=0.937). Conclusions: In comparison with non-postural restriction group, post-maneuver postural restriction after a single visit can improve the treatment effective rate of PC-BPPV and contribute to the improvement in the symptoms of patients in a short term. However, postural restrictions has no significant effect on the final prognosis of PC-BPPV, and it also has no significant effect on the recurrence.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the timing of complementary feeding for infants and the occurrence of food allergy. Methods: The PubMed, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and WanFang Data database were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about the effects of early introduction of complementary foods in infants on the occurrence of food allergy. Papers published from the establishment of the databases to December 31, 2019 were extracted. The quality of the selected literature was evaluated using the risk-of-bias (ROB) tools in the Cochrane Handbook, and the RevMan 5.3 software was used for meta-analysis. For the complementary food analyzed in a few reports in literature, a systematic review was conducted. Results: A total of 8 RCTs were extracted, and the systematic review and Meta-analysis were carried out according to food types. The results of Meta-analysis showed that compared with late introduction (after 6 months of age), early introduction (before 6 months of age) of eggs (RR=0.60, 95%CI 0.46-0.79) could reduce the risk of egg allergy in infants. The subgroup analysis of the six studies about eggs demonstrated that in infants with a prior or family history of allergic diseases, the introduction of eggs before 6 months of age was associated with reduced risk of egg allergy (RR=0.55, 95%CI 0.40-0.75), and the introduction of raw eggs (RR=0.67, 95%CI 0.49-0.93) and small amount of eggs (equivalent to weekly protein 0-4 g) (RR=0.55, 95%CI 0.36-0.85) before 6 months of age were also associated with reduced risk of egg allergy. In addition, egg supplementation during 4-6 months of age reduced the occurrence of egg allergy compared with supplementation before 4 months of age (RR=0.58, 95%CI 0.43-0.78). The systematic review found no conclusive relationship between early peanut introduction and peanut allergy, nor the correlation between early cow's milk protein introduction and cow's milk protein allergy (P>0.05). Conclusion: Early introduction (before 6 months of age) of eggs in infants' complementary foods can prevent infant egg allergy, but the limitations of the study need to be considered.

Abstract
Two new prenylaromadendrane-type diterpenoids, and three known analogues, were isolated from the ethanol extract of the gum resin of B. sacra Flueck. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated using 1 D and 2 D NMR spectroscopic analyses, mass spectrometric data, circular dichroism spectra, and comparison with the other compounds in the literature. One diterpenoid represents the first example of an acetoxyl-substituted prenylaromadendranoid in frankincense. All compounds exhibited notable cytotoxicity against human malignant glioma (U87-MG) cell line, with inhibitory rates exceeding that of the positive control 5-fluorouracil. However, nitric oxide inhibition induced by lipopolysaccarides was not observed in primary mouse peritoneal macrophages.

Single-cell transcriptomic analyses of cardiac immune cells reveal that Rel-driven CD72-positive macrophages induce cardiomyocyte injury. Cardiovasc Res 2021; 118:1303-1320. Abstract
AIMS The goal of our study was to investigate the heterogeneity of cardiac macrophages (CMφs) in mice with transverse aortic constriction (TAC) via single-cell sequencing and identify a subset of macrophages associated with heart injury. METHODS AND RESULTS We selected all CMφs from CD45+ cells using single-cell mRNA sequencing data. Through dimension reduction, clustering and enrichment analyses, CD72hi CMφs were identified as a subset of proinflammatory macrophages. The pseudotime trajectory and ChIP-Seq analyses identified Rel as the key transcription factor that induces CD72hi CMφ differentiation. Rel KD and Rel-/- bone marrow chimera mice subjected to TAC showed features of mitigated cardiac injury, including decreased levels of cytokines and ROS, which prohibited cardiomyocyte death. The transfer of adoptive Rel-overexpressing monocytes and CD72hi CMφ injection directly aggravated heart injury in the TAC model. The CD72hi macrophages also exerted proinflammatory and cardiac injury effects associated with myocardial infarction (MI). In humans, patients with heart failure exhibit increased CD72hi CMφ levels following dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM). CONCLUSION Bone marrow-derived, Rel-mediated CD72hi macrophages play a proinflammatory role, induce cardiac injury and, thus, may serve as a therapeutic target for multiple cardiovascular diseases. TRANSLATIONAL PERSPECTIVE Heart failure (HF) imposes an enormous clinical and economic burden worldwide and presents limited therapeutic approaches. Given the close association between inflammation and adverse outcomes, proinflammatory immune cells are considered potential therapeutic targets for HF treatment. The present studies identified a specific macrophage subset associated with myocardial injury, which may provide an alternative approach for treating cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Indirect consequences of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic include those related to failure of patients to seek or receive timely medical attention for seemingly unrelated disease. We report our experience with stroke code imaging during the early pandemic months of 2020. MATERIALS AND METHODS Retrospective review of stroke codes during the 2020 pandemic and both 2020 and matched 2019 prepandemic months was performed. Patient variables were age, sex, hospital location, and severity of symptoms based on the NIHSS. We reviewed the results of CT of the head, CTA, CTP, and MR imaging examinations and classified a case as imaging-positive if any of the imaging studies yielded a result that related to the clinical indication for the study. Both year-to-year and sequential comparisons were performed between pandemic and prepandemic months. RESULTS A statistically significant decrease was observed in monthly stroke code volumes accompanied by a statistically significant increased proportion of positive imaging findings during the pandemic compared with the same months in the prior year (P < .001) and prepandemic months in the same year (P < .001). We also observed statistically significant increases in average NIHSS scores (P = .045 and P = .03) and the proportion of inpatient stroke codes (P = .003 and P = .03). CONCLUSIONS During our pandemic period, there was a significantly decreased number of stroke codes but simultaneous increases in positivity rates, symptom severity, and inpatient codes. We postulate that this finding reflects the documented reluctance of patients to seek medical care during the pandemic, with the shift toward a greater proportion of inpatient stroke codes potentially reflecting the neurologic complications of the virus itself.

Abstract
Herein, a new "turn on" fluorescent probe C-1 is developed to specifically detect hydrazine using coumarin nucleus as the fluorophore and β-diketone as the recognition group. The probe shows high selectivity towards hydrazine over other common ions and amine-containing species, as well as good water solubility and quantitative detectability of hydrazine in concentration range of 1-200 μM. The detection limit is as low as 1.89 ppb, which is lower than the threshold set by EPA (10 ppb). Probe-coated filter papers are confirmed to detect gaseous hydrazine successfully through obvious fluorescence color changes. In addition, the probe has been verified to detect hydrazine in actual water environment and living cells.

Abstract
The aim of our study was to assess the regulatory response of the chemokine CXCL13 in the serum of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with disease activity and to evaluate its influence on the inflammatory process in SLE. Serum samples from 97 SLE patients, 49 non-SLE patients (23 patients with other autoimmune diseases and 26 patients with rheumatoid arthritis) and 50 healthy controls were analyzed for the concentration of CXCL13 using ELISA. The results indicated that the serum levels of CXCL13 were significantly higher in SLE patients than in non-SLE patients and healthy controls (p < 0.001). Moreover, the level of CXCL13 decreased as the level of anti-dsDNA IgG decreased after treatment between the anti-dsDNA-positive SLE patients and the anti-dsDNA-negative SLE patients. In addition, serum CXCL13 levels were correlated with SLEDAI in different activities of SLE, renal involvement and active LN. Furthermore, the level of CXCL13 was positively related to the SLEDAI, level of anti-dsDNA IgG, level of ESR and RAI of high-avidity IgG ANAs (HA IgG ANAs). Additionally, statically analysis revealed that CXCL13 would be a best diagnostic value for determining the disease activity of SLE due to its moderate sensitivity (93.5%), specificity (95%), PPV (98.6%), NPV (79.2%) and OR(95%CI,250(30.303-1000)), at a cut-off level of 15.27 pg/mL. First, we indicated that CXCL13 was elevated in SLE patients regardless of the presence or absence of anti-dsDNA IgG ANAs. Furthermore, HA IgG ANAs might affect the circulation of CXCL13. Therefore, the chemokine CXCL13 might be a risk factor influencing the inflammatory process in SLE.

Abstract
Objective: To predict the prevalence of myopia among Chinese students aged 6-18 years under different intervention scenarios from 2021 to 2030. Methods: The multi-state Markov model was developed based on the transition process of study stages and myopia statuses. The development of myopia was simplified into two statuses: non-myopia and myopia. Students aged 6-18 years were also divided according to their study stages including senior kindergarten, primary school (from Grade 1 to 6), junior school (from Grade 1 to 3) and high school (from Grade 1 to 3). The parameters were extracted from the National Myopia Investigation in 2018 and published articles of cohort studies. The transition probability was applied to simulate the intervention scenarios, and sensitivity analysis was carried out. Results: The cumulative incidence of myopia among Chinese school-aged children and adolescents would increase consistently. It would be 91.3% (min to max: 83.7% to 96.7%) upon graduation from high school. Without any intervention, the myopia prevalence would increase to 61.8% (min to max: 55.4% to 69.5%) by 2030 among Chinese school-aged children and adolescents. And the myopia prevalence among students in primary schools, junior schools and high schools would be 45.6% (min to max: 40.2% to 54.3%), 81.3% (min to max: 72.6% to 91.0%) and 90.5% (min to max: 82.4% to 96.7%), respectively, all higher than the national target. If the interventions could achieve 70% of the desired effect, the myopia prevalence would be lower than the national target at each stage. Conclusions: Without effective interventions, the prevalence of myopia among students aged 6-18 years may keep increasing in the next ten years. If the interventions achieve the desired effect, the national target for myopia prevention and control could be reached. It is urgent to identify more effective interventions and call on the whole society to participate in the myopia prevention action to achieve the national goal by 2030. Abstract
Objective: To study the prevalence and correlations of HIV infection among cross-border couples in the Dehong prefecture. Methods: A cross-sectional mass screening study with questionnaire interview and HIV testing was conducted among 17 594 registered cross-border couples from May 2017 through June 2018. Results: Among 32 400 participants, the overall prevalence of HIV infection was 2.27% (736/32 400), 2.44% (375/15 372) for Chinese citizens, and 2.12% (361/17 028) for foreign spouses. Among all the 13 853 couples with both spouses receiving HIV testing, 13 415(96.84%) were seroconcordant-negative couples, 142(1.03%) were serocondordant-positive couples, and 296(2.13%) were serodiscordant couples, including 167(1.20%) couples with positive husband and negative wife and 129(0.93%) couples with positive wife and negative husband. Multiple logistic regression analyses indicated that HIV infection was associated with drug use and risky sexual behaviors for male spouses. In contrast, HIV infection was associated with risky sexual behaviors for female spouses. Conclusion: The prevalence of HIV among cross-border couples in Dehong prefecture is high, underscoring the urgent need to scale up HIV testing, prevention, and behavioral intervention.

Abstract
Background This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different iterative reconstruction (IR) algorithms on coronary artery calcium (CAC) score quantification using the reduced radiation dose (RRD) protocol in an anthropomorphic phantom and in patients. Methods A thorax phantom, containing 9 calcification inserts with varying hydroxyapatite (HA) densities, was scanned with the reference protocol [120 kv, 80 mAs, filtered back projection (FBP)] and RRD protocol (120 kV, 20-80 mAs, 5 mAs interval) using a 256-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. Raw data were reconstructed with different reconstruction algorithms [iDose4 levels 1-7 and iterative model reconstruction (IMR) levels 1-3]. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), and Agatston score (AS) were calculated for each image series. The correction factor was derived from linear regression analysis between the reference image series and other image series with different parameters. Additionally, 40 patients were scanned with the RRD protocol (50 mAs) and reconstructed with FBP, iDose4 level 4, and IMR level 2. AS was calculated for the 3-group image series, and was corrected by applying a correction factor for the IMR group. The agreement of risk stratification with different reconstruction algorithms was also analyzed. Results For the phantom study, the iDose4 and IMR groups had significantly higher SNR and CNR than the FBP group (all P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the total AS after comparing image series reconstructed with iDose4 (level 1-7) and FBP (all P>0.05), while AS from the IMR (level 1-3) image series were lower than the FBP group (all P<0.05). The tube current of 50 mAs was determined for the clinical study, and the correction factor was 1.14. For the clinical study, the median AS from the iDose4 and IMR groups were both significantly lower compared to the FBP image series [(112.89 (63.01, 314.09), 113.22 (64.78, 364.95) vs. 118.59 (65.05, 374.48), both P<0.05]. After applying the correction factor, the adjusted AS from the IMR group was not significantly different from that of the FBP group [126.48 (69.62, 355.85) vs. 118.59 (65.05, 374.48), P=0.145]. Moreover, the agreement in risk stratification between FBP and IMR improved from 0.81 to 0.85. Conclusions The RRD CAC scoring scan using the IMR reconstruction algorithm is clinically feasible, and a correction factor can help reduce the AS underestimation effect.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical features and efficacy of enzyme replacement therapy in 4 children with Fabry disease. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical manifestations, laboratory findings, genetic variations and treatment were conducted in 4 children with Fabry disease in Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2014 to July 2020. Results: All four children (2 males, 2 females) with onset age of 12.4 (6.0-16.8) years were diagnosed based on clinical features, α-Gal A enzyme activity, genetic analysis and family history. The clinical manifestations varied in 4 children. All patients had left ventricular hypertrophy and abnormal urinalysis results, 1 case of neuropathic pain, 2 cases of hypohidrosis, 1 case of insipidus, but no angiokeratomas or hearing abnormalities were found. Three missense mutations of GLA gene were identified: c.424T>C (p.C142R), C.335G>A (p.R112H) and c.644A>G (p.N215S). The first two gene mutations were classical phenotypes, and the last one had also been reported in a classic case. In Case 1, no severe adverse events were reported in the first two months of agalsidase beta treatment. The dosage was 1 mg/kg once every 2 weeks. Symptoms of pain intensity and hypohidrosis were improved. Transiently elevated proteinuria was observed but it returned to normal after a week without any treatment. Conclusions: Clinical manifestations of Fabry disease varied in childhood. Multidisciplinary collaboration is required for its early diagnosis and treatment. Severe adverse events are rare in children with short-term therapy of agalsidase beta.

Abstract
Russula griseocarnosa is one of the uncultivable important mycorrhizal edible fungi. Currently, there is a limited insight into the dynamic composition of the microbial communities associated with Russula. Here, the microbiota in the root and mycorrhizosphere from Russula-Fagaceae nature areas of Fujian province were identified by Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing. First, we compared three types of fungal communities associated with Russula-Fagaceae root mycelia-running stage (stage-1), Russula sporocarping stage-2 (stage-2) and Russula-free Fagaceae root (stage-3). Fungal diversity negatively correlated with Russula. Russula, Tomentella and Lactarius were core EcM in Fagaceae roots. A total of eight genera, including Boletus, are likely a positive indicator of Russula sporocarp production in Russula-Fagaceae roots, while Tomentella and Elaphomyces for Russula symbiosis. Secondly, analysis of fungal and bacterial communities within rhizosphere soils from the three stages revealed six genera, including Dacryobolus and Acidocella, as possible indicator species associated with sporocarping in Russula. Elaphomyces, Tomentella, Sorangium, Acidicaldus, Acidobacterium and Haliangium occurred more frequently in the Russula rhizosphere. Furthermore, operational taxonomic unit (OTU) network analysis showed a positive correlation between Russula,Tomentella, Elaphomyces and Sorangium. Overall, our results revealed a relationship between micro-community and Russula, which may provide a new strategy for improving Russula symbiosis and sporocarp production.

Abstract
Background Two diagnostic models of prostate cancer (PCa) and clinically significant prostate cancer (CS-PCa) were established using clinical data of among patients whose prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels are in the gray area (4.0–10.0 ng/ml). Material/Methods Data from 181 patients whose PSA levels were in the gray area were retrospectively analyzed, and the following data were collected: age, digital rectal examination, total PSA, PSA density (PSAD), free/total PSA (f/t PSA), transrectal ultrasound, multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI), and pathological reports. Patients were diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and PCa by pathology reports, and PCa patients were separated into non-clinically significant PCa (NCS-PCa) and CS-PCa by Gleason score. Afterward, predictor models constructed by above parameters were researched to diagnose PCa and CS-PCa, respectively. Results According to the analysis of included clinical data, there were 109 patients with BPH, 44 patients with NCS-PCa, and 28 patients with CS-PCa. Regression analysis showed PCa was correlated with f/t PSA, PSAD, and mpMRI (P<0.01), and CS-PCa was correlated with PSAD and mpMRI (P<0.01). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curves of 2 models for PCa (sensitivity=73.64%, specificity=64.23%) and for CS-PCa (sensitivity=71.41%, specificity=81.82%) were 0.79 and 0.87, respectively. Conclusions The prediction models had satisfactory diagnostic value for PCa and CS-PCa among patients with PSA in the gray area, and use of these models may help reduce overdiagnosis.

Abstract
Timely recognition of the characteristic electrocardiographic pattern of de Winter syndrome is important for providing immediate reperfusion therapy for acute anterior myocardial infarction. In this case, an electrocardiogram showed 1- to 3-mm upsloping ST-segment depression at the J point in leads V1 to V6, with loss of R wave progression in leads V1 to V4. Urgent angiography showed occlusion of the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery and 70% stenosis in the ostial first diagonal branch (Medina type 1.1.1.). For this bifurcation lesion, we successfully performed a modified jailed-balloon technique to protect the side branch during percutaneous coronary intervention stenting. Thereafter, thrombolysis in myocardial infarction 3 flow was restored in both branches. This modified jailed-balloon technique is safe and effective in stent placement for de Winter syndrome without any loss of side branches.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of six degree of freedom (6-DOF) bed combined with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the on-line correction of setup errors in patients with primary rectal cancer. Methods: The clinicopathological data of 17 patients with primary rectal cancer in Department of Radiotherapy, Third Hospital of Peking University from July 2013 to January 2014 were collected. There were 14 males and 3 females, a median age of 65 years. The difference of CBCT and 6-DOF bed combined with CBCT online correction of patients with positioning error were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Before position correction, the first CBCT verification of setup errors in the three translation directions including X (left and right), Y (in and out) and Z (up and down) directions were (0.06±0.25) cm, (0.13±0.40) cm and (-0.28±0.31) cm, respectively. The setup errors of RX (rotation pitch), RY(rolling) and RZ (left and right rotation) directions were (0.62±1.15)°, (-0.19±0.99)°, and (-0.34 ± 0.84)°, respectively . After correction of IGRT combined with six freedom of bed, the setup errors of translation X, Y and Z were (0.01±0.09) cm, (-0.01±0.05) cm and (-0.03±0.08) cm, respectively, and the setup errors of rotation RX, RY and RZ directions were (-0.16±0.40)°, (0.36±0.31)°and (-0.01±0.25)°, respectively. There were significant differences in translation direction (X, Y and Z direction) and rotation direction (Rx, RY and RZ) before and after 6-DOF bed combined with CBCT correction (all P<0.05). In the translation direction, the higher frequency range of Z-direction error value was 0.20-0.79 cm. In the rotation direction, the frequency range of error in Rx direction was 0.20°-2.99°. There was no significant difference between bone mode and gray scale model registration (P>0.05). With the progress of radiotherapy, the setup errors of X, Z, Rx, RY and RZ directions increased except Y direction. Conclusions: In radiotherapy, six freedom bed combined with CBCT is helpful to correct the setup errors of patients with primary rectal cancer. Six freedom bed may be used to correct the setup errors of patients with primary rectal cancer online. Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is recommended for bone pattern registration in patients with rectal cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes of axial length, corneal refractive power, and refractive state in infants with congenital cataract surgery. Methods: Retrospective cohort study. Medical records of 103 patients who underwent congenital cataract surgery in the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University Hangzhou Branch from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2018 were reviewed. There were 61 boys and 42 girls in the study. The mean age at the surgery of 103 congenital cataract patients was (3.95±1.94) months. In patients receiving bilateral cataract surgery, only the left eye was selected for analysis. The patients were followed up for at least 1 year. The patients were divided into the groups of <4 months old and 4-12 months old according to the age at cataract surgery. The change in the axial length, corneal refractive power, and refractive state of each patient at 1 year after surgery was analyzed. Independent sample t-test, one way variance analysis and simple linear regression were used for statistical analysis. Results: There were 71 cases of bilateral cataract, including 33 in the group of <4 months old and 38 in the group of 4-12 months old, and 32 cases of unilateral cataract, including 17 in the group of <4 months old and 15 in the group of 4-12 months old. The change in the axial length of bilateral cataract children in the <4-month-old group was (2.46±1.33) mm at 1 year after surgery, which was greater than (1.52± 1.00) mm in the group of 4-12 months old (t=3.21; P<0.01). In the same surgery age group, there was no significant difference in the change of axial length among bilateral cataract eyes, unilateral cataract eyes and the contralateral eyes at 1 year after surgery (both P>0.05). One year after surgery, the axial length of the eyes in patients with bilateral cataract, the affected eyes and the fellow eyes in patients with unilateral cataract all was highly correlated with the logarithm of the actual age (r=0.68, 0.52, 0.73; all P<0.01). The corneal refractive power showed a decreased trend with the increase of age. The change in the corneal refractive power of the bilateral cataract children in the <4-month-old group at 1 year after surgery was (1.43±2.87) D, and in the group of 4-12 months old was (0.68±2.10) D, but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The chang in spherical equivalent of bilateral cataract children was (2.02±2.60) D in the <4-month-old group, greater than that in the group of 4-12 months old [(0.69±1.89) D; t=2.15; P<0.05]. The change of spherical equivalent one year after surgery in 4-12 months group, unilateral cataract eyes was significantly greater than that of bilateral cataract eyes [(2.05±0.95) D vs. (0.69±1.89) D; t=2.49; P<0.05]. The spherical equivalent of both bilateral and unilateral cataract children was highly correlated with the actual age (r=-0.51, -0.54; both P<0.01). Conclusions: The axial length is increased, the corneal refractive power is decreased, and the spherical equivalent is decreased at 1 year after surgery for congenital cataract in infants. The younger the age at cataract surgery, the greater the change in the axial length, myopia drift, and corneal refractive power. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2021, 57: 34-40).

The comparision of two exhaled nitric oxide analyzers: NIOX VERO and SUNVOU-CA2122. J Breath Res 2020; 15. [PMID: 33291088 DOI: 10.1088/1752-7163/abd193] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.8] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 06/26/2020] [Accepted: 12/08/2020] [Indexed: 11/12/2022]
Abstract
BACKGROUND As a marker of eosinophilic airway inflammation, fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) was widely used in clinical practice. NIOX VERO (VERO) and SUNVOU-CA2122 (CA2122) are two commonly used exhaled nitric oxide (eNO) analyzers in China. However, what's the difference and agreement between the two devices and whether the two types of devices can be replaced by each other in the application of common respiratory diseases have not been reported. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to compare the two types of devices and to evaluate the difference between them in clinical use and whether they could be replaced. METHODS FeNO levels in 244 respiratory patients (including asthma, COPD, chronic cough) were measured by SUNVOU-CA2122 analyzer (CA2122) and NIOX VERO analyzer (VERO), respectively. FeNO values obtained by the two devices were compared and analyzed for the difference. The success rate, the number of attempts and the total time required for a successful measurement by CA2122 and VERO were compared. The FeNO values measured offline by CA2122 were compared with FeNO values measured online by CA2122 and VERO. RESULTS FeNO values obtained by CA2122 were slightly higher than those of VERO [median(range): 29.0(9-271) ppb vs 25.5 (5-263) ppb, P=0.000]. There was a high correlation between FeNO values measured by the two types of devices (r = 0.964, P= 0.000). By comparison, there was a high degree of agreement between the FeNO values measured by two devices, in all patients with different respiratory diseases. FeNO values measured online and offline by CA2122 were highly correlated and there was a high degree of agreement between online and offline methods. The success rate of CA2122 was higher than VERO, and the number of attempts (2.1 vs 2.4) and the total time (110.5±35.7 vs 117.5±48.1 seconds) required for a successful measurement by CA2122 were lower than those of VERO. CONCLUSIONS CA2122 and VERO can be replaced by each other, and FeNO values can be converted if necessary. CA2122 has some advantages in success rate, the mean attempts and time required for successful measurement of FeNO.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) appears to be an independent risk factor for stroke. We hypothesize that patients who develop stroke while hospitalized for severe COVID-19 will have higher inflammatory markers and distinct stroke imaging patterns compared with patients positive for COVID-19 with out-of-hospital stroke onset and milder or no COVID-19 symptoms. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a retrospective case series of patients positive for COVID-19 on polymerase chain reaction testing with imaging-confirmed stroke treated within a large health care network in New York City and Long Island between March 14 and April 26, 2020. Clinical and laboratory data collected retrospectively included complete blood counts and creatinine, alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase, C-reactive protein, ferritin, and D-dimer levels. All CT and MR imaging studies were independently reviewed by 2 neuroradiologists who recorded stroke subtype and patterns of infarction and intracranial hemorrhage. RESULTS Compared with patients with COVID-19 with outside-of-hospital stroke onset and milder or no COVID-19 symptoms (n = 45, 52.3%), patients with stroke already hospitalized for severe COVID-19 (n = 41, 47.7%) had significantly more frequent infarctions (95.1% versus 73.3%, P = .006), with multivascular distributions (56.4% versus 33.3%, P = .022) and associated hemorrhage (31.7% versus 4.4%, P = .001). Patients with stroke admitted with more severe COVID-19 had significantly higher C-reactive protein and ferritin levels, elevated D-dimer levels, and more frequent lymphopenia and renal and hepatic injury (all, P < .003). CONCLUSIONS Patients with stroke hospitalized with severe COVID-19 are characterized by higher inflammatory, coagulopathy, and tissue-damage biomarkers, supporting proposed pathogenic mechanisms of hyperinflammation activating a prothrombotic state. Cautious balancing of thrombosis and the risk of hemorrhagic transformation is warranted when considering anticoagulation.

Roles of autophagy-related genes in conidiogenesis and blastospore formation, virulence, and stress response of Beauveria bassiana. Fungal Biol 2020; 124:1052-1057. [PMID: 33213785 DOI: 10.1016/j.funbio.2020.10.002] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.8] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/18/2020] [Revised: 10/02/2020] [Accepted: 10/04/2020] [Indexed: 10/23/2022]
Abstract
Autophagy is a conserved intracellular recycling mechanism, in which autophagy-related genes 12 and 16 (ATG12 and ATG16) function in a complex controlling the ubiquitin-like conjugation system. In the insect-pathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana, ATG12 and ATG16 were functionally characterized. Disruption of BbATG12 or BbATG16 resulted in the absence of autophagic bodies under starvation stress. ΔBbATG12 and ΔBbATG16 mutant strains displayed similar defects in asexual development (conidiation and blastospore formation) and tolerance to oxidative stress. ΔBbATG16 strain exhibited the impaired growth on the media with gelatin or chitin as a single nitrogen source, and ΔBbATG12 displayed decreased growth on the media with sucrose, fructose or maltose as a single carbon source. Both BbATG12 and BbATG16 were required for fungal virulence. BbATG16 mutation had more effects on fungal virulence than BbATG12 in topical infection assay, although both genes had similar contributions to fungal virulence in intrahemocoel injection assay. This study indicates that BbATG12 and BbATG16 mediate diverse biological functions in addition to their convergent roles in autophagy.

Identification of a unique anti-Ro60 subset with restricted serological and molecular profiles. Clin Exp Immunol 2020; 203:13-21. [PMID: 32852779 DOI: 10.1111/cei.13508] [Citation(s) in RCA: 7] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.8] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/07/2020] [Revised: 08/06/2020] [Accepted: 08/14/2020] [Indexed: 12/30/2022] Open
Abstract
Anti-Ro60 is one of the most common and clinically important serum autoantibodies that has a number of diagnostic and predictive capabilities. Most diagnostic laboratories report this simply as a qualitative positive/negative result. The objective of this study was to examine the clinical and serological relevance of a novel subset of anti-Ro60 in patients who display low levels of anti-Ro60 (anti-Ro60low ). We retrospectively identified anti-Ro60 sera during a 12-month period at a major immunopathology diagnostic laboratory in Australia. These all were anti-Ro60-precipitin-positive on the diagnostic gold standard counter-immuno-electrophoresis (CIEP). Lineblot immunoassay was used to stratify patients into either anti-Ro60low or anti-Ro60high subsets. We compared the medical and laboratory parameters associated with each group. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and mass spectrometry techniques were used to analyse the serological and molecular basis behind the two subsets. Anti-Ro60low patients displayed less serological activity than anti-Ro60high patients with less intermolecular spreading, hypergammaglobulinaemia and less tendency to undergo anti-Ro60 isotype-switching than anti-Ro60high patients. Mass spectrometric typing of the anti-Ro60low subset showed restricted variable heavy chain subfamily usage and amino acid point mutations. This subset also displayed clinical relevance, being present in a number of patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARD). We identify a novel anti-Ro60low patient subset that is distinct from anti-Ro60high patients serologically and molecularly. It is not clear whether they arise from common or separate origins; however, they probably have different developmental pathways to account for the stark difference in immunological maturity. We hence demonstrate significance to anti-Ro60low and justify accurate detection in the diagnostic laboratory.

Abstract
Ten undescribed cembrane-type diterpenes boscartins AL-AU, as well as five known analogues were isolated from Boswellia sacra Flueck. The relative configurations of these boscartins were established by extensive spectroscopic analysis of NMR spectra, IR and MS. The absolute configurations of boscartin AL, boscartin AN and isoincensole oxide were unequivocally assigned by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Meanwhile, the absolute configurations of boscartin AM, boscartin AP and boscartin AQ were determined by an empirical in situ formed Rh-complex ECD method. Biological evaluations showed that four compounds exhibited obvious hepatoprotective activities against paracetamol-induced HepG2 cell damage at 10 μM. Regarding neuroprotective activity, some isolates displayed moderate to evident protective effects against glutamate-induced toxicity in primary cultured fetal rat cortical neurons or oxygen-glucose deprivation toxicity in SK-N-SH Cells at 10 μM.

Abstract
Chlorophenols (CPs) are important pollutants detected frequently in the environment. This study intended to detect the inhibitory effects of fourteen CPs (2-CP, 3-CP, 4-CP, 4C2AP, 4C3MP, 2.4-DCP, 2.3.4-TCP, 2.4.5-TCP, 2.4.6-TCP, 3.4.5-TCP, 2.3.4.5-TECP, 2.3.4.6-TECP, 2.3.5.6-TECP and PCP) towards human liver cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). Throughout the tests, testosterone was used as the probe substrate and CPs were used as inhibitors. A series of experiments (enzyme activity assays, preliminary screening tests, inhibition kinetics determination) were conducted to determine the inhibition of CPs towards human liver CYP3A4. CPs with the inhibitory effect >80% were selected for the inhibition evaluation in liver microsomes from different animal species (monkey, rat, dog, pig). The results showed that 2.3.4-TCP, 3.4.5-TCP, and 2.3.4.5-TECP inhibited the activities of CYP3A4 by 80.3%, 93.4%, 91.6%, respectively. Inhibition kinetics type were non-competitive and inhibition kinetics constant (Ki) values were 26.4 μM, 13.5 μM, and 8.8 μM for the inhibition of 2.3.4-TCP, 3.4.5-TCP, and 2.3.4.5-TECP towards human CYP3A4, respectively. Inhibition kinetics type was competitive and Ki value was 4.9 μM for the inhibition of 2.3.4-TCP towards CYP3A4 in Monkey liver microsomes (MyLMs). Inhibition kinetic types were non-competitive and Ki values were 8.1 μM and 28.7 μM for the inhibition of 3.4.5-TCP and 2.3.4.5-TECP towards CYP3A4 in MyLMs. Inhibition kinetic types were non-competitive and Ki values were 13.8 μM, 0.6 μM, and 6.1 μM for the inhibition of 2.3.4-TCP, 3.4.5-TCP, and 2.3.4.5-TECP towards CYP3A4 in Dog liver microsomes (DLMs), respectively. By comparing Ki values and inhibition kinetic types, the dog was the most suitable model to assess the inhibition of 2.3.4-TCP and 2.3.4.5-TECP towards CYP3A4, and monkey was the most suitable model to assess the inhibition of 3.4.5-TCP towards CYP3A4. In conclusion, our recent study on the inhibition of CPs towards CYP3A4 and species differences was important for further toxicological studies of CPs in human bodies.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the significance of plasma pentraxin 3 (PTX3) in patients with secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH). Methods: Plasma PTX3 levels were tested by ELISA in 48 newly diagnosed sHLH patients, 18 healthy volunteers and 9 lymphoma controls in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2017 to July 2019. Clinical parameters were collected, and the correlations with PTX3 levels were analyzed. Results: PTX3 level in newly diagnosed group was significantly higher than that of healthy control group [16.29(1.17-66.00) vs. 0.76(0.01-7.86) μg/L, P<0.01]. Patients with lymphoma-associated HLH(LHLH) had higher plasma level of PTX3 than Fhose with infection-associated HLH (IHLH) [24.29(3.36-66.00) vs. 9.56(1.17-36.50)μg/L, P<0.05]. Plasma PTX3 levels in 48 sHLH patients were positively correlated with serum ferritin (P<0.05). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for plasma PTX3 levels of sHLH and healthy controls produced a cutoff value at 3.9 μg/L, with its 86.7% sensitivity and 94.4% specificity. And ROC analysis showed that PTX3 17.5 μg/L was the critical value for diagnosis of LHLH from non-LHLH group, that the sensitivity and specificity were 63.0% and 76.2% respectively. The 1-year overall survival (OS) rate in patients with PTX3≥17.5 μg/L was significantly lower in those with PTX3<17.5 μg/L (18.5% vs. 75.8%, P<0.01). Conclusion: These results indicate the potential of PTX3 as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in patients with sHLH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) has been shown to be an effective treatment for peritoneal tumors; whether preventive HIPEC after radical resection for T4 stage colon adenocarcinoma could decrease peritoneal recurrence remains unknown. The aim of the present study was to compare peritoneal recurrence and short-term survival in patients with T4 stage colon adenocarcinoma undergoing HIPEC plus adjuvant chemotherapy or adjuvant chemotherapy alone following surgery. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed T4 stage colon adenocarcinoma patients who had radical tumor resection at our institution between January 2014 and January 2019. Clinical data were extracted from the database at our institution, and patient survival and long-term complications were assessed through repeated outpatient examinations and telephone interviews. RESULTS A total of 352 patients were included in this study; 157 patients received postoperative HIPEC plus adjuvant chemotherapy (HIPEC group), 195 patients received adjuvant chemotherapy alone (conventional chemotherapy group). Forty-one (26.1%) patients in the HIPEC group had a peritoneal recurrence and the peritoneum was the first site of tumor recurrence in 6 (14.6%) of them. However, 73 (37.4%) patients experienced peritoneal recurrence in the conventional group, and the peritoneum was the first site of tumor recurrence in 25 (34.2%) (p = 0.019). Disease-free survival in the HIPEC group at 1 and 3 years was 93.3% and 61.1%, respectively, versus 89.3% and 51.7% in the conventional chemotherapy group (p = 0.038). Overall survival in the HIPEC group at 1 and 3 years was 100.0% and 82.7%, respectively, versus 100.0% and 76.9% in the conventional chemotherapy group (p = 0.420). The two groups did not differ with respect to severe complications. CONCLUSIONS Preventive HIPEC after radical surgery may decrease peritoneal recurrence and promote disease-free survival for T4 stage colon adenocarcinoma. Large-scale randomized controlled studies are needed to confirm the results of our study.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To analyze the differences in accuracy of different eye movement parameters in distinguishing the cooperation and non-cooperation during image completion test of patients with mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma. Methods One hundred and forty cases of patients with mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma who took psychiatric impairment assessments were collected. The 21 pictures from "image completion" of Wechsler intelligence test were used as stimulating pictures, then divided into cooperation group and non-cooperation group according to binomial forced-choice digit memory test and expert opinions. The eye movement parameters of research subjects during completion of images were obtained by the SMI eye-tracker. The accuracy of eye movement parameters in distinguishing the cooperation or non-cooperation of patients with mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma in psychiatric impairment assessments were evaluated by the ROC curve. Results During the process of the image completion test, the area under curve (AUC) value of frequency of blink, frequency of fixation, pupil size, frequency of saccade, latency of saccade, average acceleration of saccade, the average and peak longitudinal velocity of saccade was above 0.5. When it comed to a specific stimulating picture, the AUC value of frequency of blink in looking at a specific stimulating picture could be above 0.8, and the AUC value of X axis diameter of pupil size could be above 0.7. Conclusion The accuracy of eye movement parameters in distinguishing the cooperation or disguise of patients with mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma is related with the stimulating picture. The accuracy of frequency of blink in distinguishing cooperation and non-cooperation is better than that of other eye movement parameters.

The Phylogenetic Implications of the Mitochondrial Genomes of Macropsis notata and Oncopsis nigrofasciata. Front Genet 2020; 11:443. Abstract
Macropsinae are forest pests that feed on woody plants. They can damage the growth of trees and crops, and some species can also spread plant pathogens. Due to their widespread effects, these leafhoppers are of great economic significance, which is why there is a need to study their genomes. To fill the gap in the mitochondrial genomic data of the subfamily Macropsinae, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genomes of Macropsis notata and Oncopsis nigrofasciata (which were 16,323 and 15,927 bp long, respectively). These two species are representative species of the leafhoppers group (Cicadellidae); the mitochondrial genomes of these species range from a length of 15,131 bp (Trocnadella arisana) to 16,811 bp (Parocerus laurifoliae). Both mitogenomes contained 37 typical insect mitochondrial genes and a control region; there were no long non-coding sequences. The genes within the mitogenome were very compact. The mitogenomes from both species contained two kinds of parallel repeat units in the control region. The whole mitogenomes of Macropsinae showed a heavy AT nucleotide bias (M. notata 76.8% and O. nigrofasciata 79.0%), a positive AT Skew (0.15 and 0.12), and a negative GC Skew (-0.14 and -0.08). Upon comparative ML and BI analysis, some clade relationships were consistent among the six trees. Most subfamilies were reconstructed into monophyletic groups with strong support in all analyses, with the exception of Evacanthinae and Cicadellinae. Unlike the results of previous research, it was shown that although all Deltocephalinae species are grouped into one clade, they were not the sister group to all other leafhoppers. Further, Cicadellinae and Evacanthinae were occasionally reconstructed as a polyphyletic and a paraphyletic group, respectively, possibly due to the limited numbers of samples and sequences. This mitogenome information for M. notata and O. nigrofasciata could facilitate future studies on the mitogenomic diversity and evolution of the related Membracoidea, and eventually help to control their effects on plants for the betterment of society at large.

Abstract
In this paper, aerosol optical depth (AOD), elevation (DEM), annual precipitation (PRE), annual average temperature (TEM), annual average wind speed (WS), population density (POP), gross domestic product density (GDP), and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were selected as factors influencing PM2.5 concentration. The random forest model, order of feature importance, and partial dependency plots were applied to investigate these factors and their regional differences in PM2.5 spatial pattern. The results showed that:① The random forest model was more accurate than multiple regression, generalized additive, and back propagation neural network models in estimating PM2.5 concentration, which can be applied to quantifying PM2.5 influencing factors. ② PM2.5 concentration initially increased and then remained stable with increases in AOD, POP, and GDP, and initially decreased and then stabilized with increases in PRE, WS, and NDVI. The responses of DEM and TEM to PM2.5 concentration changed from decline to ascend and then changed to decline again. ③ AOD had the largest influence on PM2.5 annual concentrations with a spatial influencing magnitude of 37.96%, whereas PRE had the least influence with a merely individual spatial influencing magnitude of 5.75%. ④ The relationships between PM2.5 pollution and influencing variables vary with geography and thus exhibit significant spatial heterogeneity. The same factor had different spatial influencing magnitudes on PM2.5 annual concentrations in seven geographical subareas. AOD had the greatest influence on PM2.5 concentration in the south of China, with the least influence in the northeast.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of liquid paraffin as adjuvant therapy in treating residual wounds of patients with severe burns. Methods: From January 2016 to October 2017, 58 patients with residual wounds in the later stage of severe burns were admitted to Beijing Jishuitan Hospital. Those patients met the inclusion criteria of this study and were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study. All the patients received wound disinfection, petrolatum gauze dressing change and silver ion-bearing antimicrobial dressing every other day to treat the residual wound until wound healing. From January to November 2016, 29 patients who were treated with iodophor and normal saline to clean and disinfect the wound before dressing change were enrolled in normal saline group, including 22 males and 7 females, aged (38±12) years. From December 2016 to October 2017, 29 patients who were treated with iodophor and liquid paraffin to clean and disinfect the wound before dressing change were enrolled in liquid paraffin group, including 20 males and 9 females, aged (37±12) years. The effective rate of treatment, infection control rate, and bacterial positive ratio of wound on post first treatment day (PFTD) 7, 14, and 21 and the complete wound healing time of patients were compared between the two groups. Data were statistically analyzed with independent sample t test, Wilcoxon rank-sum test, chi-square test, and Pearson chi-square test, continuity correction chi-square test, and Fisher's exact probability test after Bonferroni correction. Results: (1) On PFTD 7, 14, and 21, the effective rates of wound treatment in patients of liquid paraffin group were 34% (10/29), 59%(17/29), and 79%(23/29), respectively, which were significantly higher than 10% (3/29), 24% (7/29), and 38% (11/29) of normal saline group (χ(2)=5.857, 7.108, 10.235, P<0.05 or P<0.01). (2) The wound infection control rates in patients of liquid paraffin group on PFTD 7 and 14 were 79% (23/29) and 90% (26/29), respectively, which were significantly higher than 31% (9/29) and 52% (15/29) of normal saline group (χ(2)=13.663, 8.321, P<0.01). The wound infection control rate in patients of liquid paraffin group on PFTD 21 was 100% (29/29), which was significantly higher than 69% (20/29) of normal saline group (P<0.01). (3) The bacterial positive ratios in the wounds of liquid paraffin group were similar to those of normal saline group on PFTD 7 and 14 (χ(2)=2.097, 2.583, P>0.05). On PFTD 21, the wound bacterial positive ratio of liquid paraffin group was 8% (3/39), which was significantly lower than 49% (17/35) of normal saline group (χ(2)=13.625, P<0.01). (4) The complete wound healing time of patients in liquid paraffin group was 15.0 (11.0, 20.0) d, which was significantly shorter than 22.0 (15.0, 27.5) d of normal saline group (Z=2.256, P<0.05). Conclusions: In the treatment of residual wounds of severe burn patients, liquid paraffin as adjuvant therapy can effectively improve the treatment effective rate and the infection control rate of wounds, decrease the bacterial positive ratio, and shorten the wound healing time.

Abstract
In this paper, a reconfigurable and scalable spiking neural network processor, containing 192 neurons and 6144 synapses, is developed. By using deep compression technique in spiking neural network chip, the amount of physical synapses can be reduced to 1/16 of that needed in the original network, while the accuracy is maintained. This compression technique can greatly reduce the number of SRAMs inside the chip as well as the power consumption of the chip. This design achieves throughput per unit area of 1.1 GSOP/([Formula: see text]) at 1.2 V, and energy consumed per SOP of 35 pJ. A 2-layer fully-connected spiking neural network is mapped to the chip, and thus the chip is able to realize handwritten digit recognition on MNIST with an accuracy of 91.2%.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics of patients with Brucella endocarditis. Methods: The clinical data of 9 patients with Brucella endocarditis admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital from October 2008 to August 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Through the electronic medical record system of the hospital. Through assessing the electronic medical record system of the hospital, demographic data, main symptoms, vital signs, blood culture, Rose Bengal Plate Agglutination Test, echocardiography, electrocardiogram, chest imaging and other clinical data of included patients were inquired and recorded. Patients were followed up by telephone for medication, operation and outcome. Results: The 9 patients were all Han nationality, aged from 25 to 66 years, 7 out of 9 patients were male, and they came from Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Beijing. Of the 9 patients, 5 were farmers, 2 were self-employed, 1 was a technician, and 1 was unemployed. Of the 9 cases, 8 had a history of close contact with cattle and sheep, and 5 had a history of eating beef and mutton. Rose-Bengal Plate Agglutination Test and blood culture were positive in all 9 patients. Aortic valve was involved in 7 out of 9 patients, mitral and tricuspid valve was involved in 1 patient, respectively, and aortic dissection occurred in 1 patient. Condition of 1 patient rapidly deteriorated after admission and finally died during hospitalization despite antibiotic therapy, the remaining patients received long-term antibiotic treatment. A total of 7 patients who underwent valve replacement were followed up. One patient died of cerebral hemorrhage 6 months after operation, and the remaining 6 patients recovered well after valve replacement. Heart failure occurred in all 9 patients, and pericardial effusion occurred in 8 patients. Electrocardiogram showed low voltage of the QRS complex in the limb in 3 cases and poor R-wave progression in V(1)-V(3) lead in 2 cases, and sinus tachycardia in 2 cases. One patient developed non-specific ST-T abnormalities. All patients had fever, 7 patients complained of weakness, and 6 patients complained of palpitations. Among the 9 patients, 7 cases had anemia, 7 patients had pneumonia, 6 had bilateral pleural effusion, 4 had thrombocytopenia. Creatinine was above normal in 4 patients, urine protein was positive in 3 patients, Delta Bilirubin was higher in 3 cases. Conclusions: Patients with Brucella endocarditis often suffer from heart failure and have severe complications. Adequate antibiotic therapy in combination with valve replacement is effective for the treatment of patients with Brucella endocarditis.

[Five million wear simulation and particle analysis of carbon-based nano-multilayer coatings titanium alloy femoral head]. ZHONGHUA YI XUE ZA ZHI 2020; 100:546-551. Abstract
Objective: To analyze the wear debris characteristics ofcarbon-based nano- multilayer coatings on Ti(6)Al(4)V alloys and compared with the cobalt chromium molybdenum alloy (CoCrMo) femoral head to evaluate the friction and wear performance of the new coated femoral head. Methods: Three groups were set up in the wear simulation experiment according to the type of femoral head. Group A: imported Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum alloy femoral head (CoCrMo); group B: Titanium alloy femoral head (Ti(6)Al(4)V) with carbon-based nano-multilayer coatings; group C: domestic Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum alloy femoral head (CoCrMo). All heads were jointed with an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) acetabular cup. Serum samples were collected and stored in the hip joint simulator. After the sample has been digested and diluted, it was filtered through 5 μm, 1.2 μm and 0.4 μm filters, and the filter paper was collected for testing. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to randomly select regions on the filter to obtain images of wear debris. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) was used to determine the elemental type of the particle and to eliminate possible contamination. The composition and structure of the abrasive chips were measured using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR). The parameters related to the wear debris includingparticle size, shape, number and volume were calculated. The differences in correlation parameters between the groups were compared to evaluate the friction and wear properties of the new coated joints. Results: The main component of the wear debris produced was UHMWPE, and the particle size was mostly below 1 μm. The submicron particle ratio of group B was 49.4%, which was significantly lower than that of the group A and C (75% and 60%, respectively; χ(2)=66.032, 31.754, both P<0.017). The shape was mainly round, and there was no statistical difference between the groups (χ(2)=0.590, P=0.744). The number of particles in group B was significantly less than that of group C on all filters (t=9.960, 8.019, 5.790, all P<0.01), and less than group A on the 0.4 μm filter (t=7.810, P=0.000). Conclusion: The frictional wear performance of the new carbon-based nano-multilayer coatings femoral head is significantly better than that of the domestic femoral head, and even partially exceeds the imported femoral head level, which helps to reduce the production of particles and prevent osteolysis and aseptic loosening induced by UHMWPE particles.

High-glucose/high-cholesterol diet in zebrafish evokes diabetic and affective pathogenesis: The role of peripheral and central inflammation, microglia and apoptosis. Prog Neuropsychopharmacol Biol Psychiatry 2020; 96:109752. Abstract
Neuroinflammation and metabolic deficits contribute to the etiology of human affective disorders, such as anxiety and depression. The zebrafish (Danio rerio) has recently emerged as a powerful new model organism in CNS disease modeling. Here, we exposed zebrafish to 2% glucose and 10% cholesterol for 19 days to experimentally induce type 2 diabetes (DM) and to assess stress responses, microglia, inflammation and apoptosis. We analyzed zebrafish anxiety-like behavior in the novel tank and light-dark box (Days 15-16) tests, as well as examined their biochemical and genomic biomarkers (Day 19). Confirming DM-like state in zebrafish, we found higher whole-body glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein levels and glucagon mRNA expression, and lower high-density lipoprotein levels. DM zebrafish also showed anxiety-like behavior, elevated whole-body cortisol and cytokines IFN-γ and IL-4, as well as higher brain mRNA expression of the glucocorticoid receptor, CD11b (a microglial biomarker), pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α (but not IL-1β or anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and IL-10), GFAP (an astrocytal biomarker), neurotrophin BDNF, its receptors p75 and TrkB, as well as apoptotic Bax and Caspase-3 (but not BCl-2) genes. Collectively, this supports the overlapping nature of DM-related affective pathogenesis and emphasizes the role of peripheral and central inflammation and apoptosis in DM-related affective and neuroendocrine deficits in zebrafish.
