Abstract
We demonstrate the full thermoelectric and structural characterization of individual bismuth-based (Bi-based) core/shell nanowires. The influence of strain on the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity, the absolute Seebeck coefficient and the thermal conductivity of bismuth/titanium dioxide (Bi/TiO2) nanowires with different diameters is investigated and compared to bismuth (Bi) and bismuth/tellurium (Bi/Te) nanowires and bismuth bulk. Scattering at surfaces, crystal defects and interfaces between the core and the shell reduces the electrical conductivity to less than 5% and the thermal conductivity to less than 25% to 50% of the bulk value at room temperature. On behalf of a compressive strain, Bi/TiO2 core/shell nanowires show a decreasing electrical conductivity with decreasing temperature opposed to that of Bi and Bi/Te nanowires. We find that the compressive strain induced by the TiO2 shell can lead to a band opening of bismuth increasing the absolute Seebeck coefficient by 10% to 30% compared to bulk at room temperature. In the semiconducting state, the activation energy is determined to |41.3 ± 0.2| meV. We show that if the strain exceeds the elastic limit the semimetallic state is recovered due to the lattice relaxation.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) demonstrates promise in improving patient risk stratification in aortic stenosis (AS). We explored whether machine learning might provide further insights into the prognostic capability of CMR parameters.
Methods
Severe AS patients (n=440) undergoing AVR were prospectively enrolled across 10 international sites, and CMR performed prior to AVR. A machine learning prediction model using a random survival forest (RSF) was trained with 29 variables, including 13 CMR, 4 echocardiography, and 12 clinical parameters, using post-AVR mortality as an outcome. The impact of the important variables on the outcome (partial dependency) was examined.
Results
The most predictive CMR parameters in the RSF model were the extracellular volume fraction (ECV%), followed by right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF), late gadolinium enhancement (LGE%), and indexed left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDVi). Regarding the partial effects, the predicted mortality increased strongly once the ECV% exceeded 26.5% (Figure 1A). The LGE% was associated with an increased risk of mortality, which reached a plateau beyond the level of 2% (Figure 1C). There were U-shaped relationships between mortality and both RVEF and LVEDVi, with the lowest mortality seen at RVEF 70% and LVEDVi 68ml/m2 (Figure 1B, D). These trends of predicted outcomes by each variable were verified in the Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox analyses (Table). In both Cox and RSF models, the predictability was substantially increased when these four CMR parameters were added to conventional clinical risk factors. An AS-CMR risk score comprised of these four parameters presented a stepwise increase in mortality with increasing adverse CMR features (p<0.001).
Conclusions
Our machine learning analysis using RSF has identified ECV%, RVEF, LGE%, and LVEDVi as key prognostic markers in severe AS with a nonlinear influence of each parameter on mortality post-AVR.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to use an automated behavior-monitoring system to objectively assess the association between lying and activity behavior in the precalving, calving, and postcalving periods between multiparous and primiparous cows with (1) normocalcemia, (2) subclinical hypocalcemia, or (3) clinical hypocalcemia at calving. Behavioral data and blood serum samples were collected from 51 multiparous and 21 primiparous Holstein dairy cattle. Blood samples from the coccygeal vein were taken within 24 h of calving, and serum was analyzed to measure total calcium concentration. Cows were classified into one of 3 categories: normocalcemia (serum calcium concentration ≥ 2.0 mmol/L), subclinical hypocalcemia (serum calcium concentration < 2.0 mmol/L, absence of clinical signs), and clinical hypocalcemia (clinical signs and successful treatment). An activity sensor was fitted to the right hind leg of cows 3 wk before their expected calving date. Data for lying time, standing time, number of steps, and the total number of standing and lying bouts (postural transitions) were automatically collected and summed into 15-min blocks. Behavioral variables were summarized into 2-h and 24-h periods before analyses. Mixed effect models were used to analyze cow behavior in the entire 14 d before calving (d -14 to -1), on the day of calving, and the entire 21 d postcalving (d 1 to 21). In the precalving period, multiparous cows with normocalcemia had fewer postural transitions (18.5 ± 6.9 no./d) compared with cows with subclinical hypocalcemia (23.5 ± 8.0 no./d) and clinical hypocalcemia (23.5 ± 8.6 no./d). However, there was no association between blood calcium status on lying time (min/d) or step count (no./d) for multiparous cows. For primiparous cows, the step count of cows with subclinical hypocalcemia remained constant across the period, and the step count of cows with normocalcemia decreased from 842.8 steps/d on d -14 to 427.5 steps/d on d -1. Postpartum cows with clinical hypocalcemia were less active (fewer steps) and spent 88 min/d (1.5 h) and 125 min/d (2.1 h) more time lying down compared with cows with subclinical hypocalcemia and normocalcemia, respectively. This shows that clinical hypocalcemia is associated with significant long-lasting behavioral effects on cows during the critical postpartum period.

Abstract
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have great potential as biomarkers since their composition and concentration in biofluids are disease state dependent and their cargo can contain disease-related information. Large tumor-derived EVs (tdEVs, >1 μm) in blood from cancer patients are associated with poor outcome, and changes in their number can be used to monitor therapy effectiveness. Whereas, small tumor-derived EVs (<1 μm) are likely to outnumber their larger counterparts, thereby offering better statistical significance, identification and quantification of small tdEVs are more challenging. In the blood of cancer patients, a subpopulation of EVs originate from tumor cells, but these EVs are outnumbered by non-EV particles and EVs from other origin. In the Dutch NWO Perspectief Cancer-ID program, we developed and evaluated detection and characterization techniques to distinguish EVs from non-EV particles and other EVs. Despite low signal amplitudes, we identified characteristics of these small tdEVs that may enable the enumeration of small tdEVs and extract relevant information. The insights obtained from Cancer-ID can help to explore the full potential of tdEVs in the clinic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In gallbladder cancer, stage T2 is subdivided by tumour location into lesions on the peritoneal side (T2a) or hepatic side (T2b). For tumours on the peritoneal side (T2a), it has been suggested that liver resection may be omitted without compromising the prognosis. However, data to validate this argument are lacking. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of tumour location in T2 gallbladder cancer, and to clarify the adequate extent of surgical resection. METHODS Clinical data from patients who underwent surgery for gallbladder cancer were collected from 14 hospitals in Korea, Japan, Chile and the USA. Survival and risk factor analyses were conducted. RESULTS Data from 937 patients were available for evaluation. The overall 5-year disease-free survival rate was 70·6 per cent, 74·5 per cent for those with T2a and 65·5 per cent among those with T2b tumours (P = 0·028). Regarding liver resection, extended cholecystectomy was associated with a better 5-year disease-free survival rate than simple cholecystectomy (73·0 versus 61·5 per cent; P = 0·012). The 5-year disease-free survival rate was marginally better for extended than simple cholecystectomy in both T2a (76·5 versus 66·1 per cent; P = 0·094) and T2b (68·2 versus 56·2 per cent; P = 0·084) disease. Five-year disease-free survival rates were similar for extended cholecystectomies including liver wedge resection versus segment IVb/V segmentectomy (74·1 versus 71·5 per cent; P = 0·720). In multivariable analysis, independent risk factors for recurrence were presence of symptoms (hazard ratio (HR) 1·52; P = 0·002), R1 resection (HR 1·96; P = 0·004) and N1/N2 status (N1: HR 3·40, P < 0·001; N2: HR 9·56, P < 0·001). Among recurrences, 70·8 per cent were metastatic. CONCLUSION Tumour location was not an independent prognostic factor in T2 gallbladder cancer. Extended cholecystectomy was marginally superior to simple cholecystectomy. A radical operation should include liver resection and adequate node dissection.

Abstract
An all-in-one energy harvester module comprising a top piezoelectric layer, a bottom piezoelectric layer, and a middle triboelectric layer was fabricated based on flexible piezoceramic nanofibers to serve as a power source for wearable devices. The top and bottom piezoelectric layers were manufactured by modularizing electrospun piezoceramic nanofibers with an interdigitated electrode, and the energy harvesting characteristics were maximized by laminating the single modules in z-axis array arrangements. The triboelectric layer was manufactured by attaching polydimethylsiloxane on both sides of an electrode layer, and the energy harvesting characteristics were controlled according to the surface roughness of the triboelectric modules. The output voltages of the individual energy harvester modules of the all-in-one module were individually or integrally measured by hand pressing the lower and upper parts of the module. The all-in-one energy harvester module generated a maximum voltage (power) of 253 V (3.8 mW), and the time required to charge a 0.1 μF capacitor to 25 V was 40 s. The results of a simulated energy harvesting experiment conducted on the all-in-one energy harvester module showed that 42 LED bulbs arranged in the shape of the "KICET" logo could be turned on in real time without charging, and a mini fan consuming a power of 3.5 W was operated after charging a 10 μF capacitor for 250 s. This work shows the potential of the all-in-one module as an ecofriendly flexible energy harvester for operating wearable devices.

Abstract
TiO2 channel waveguides were fabricated using a DC sputter deposition process, followed by photolithography and reactive ion etching. A SiO2 cladding was deposited using evaporation. SEM, TEM and Raman measurements indicate the presence of both an amorphous and a crystalline phase. As the layer thickness increases, poly-crystalline structures start forming. Loss measurements were performed by imaging the scattered light from the top of the channel waveguides and fitting an exponential decay to the intensity profile. Propagation losses of 7.8 ± 0.52 dB/cm at a wavelength of 632.8 nm and 0.68 ± 0.46 dB/cm at a wavelength of 1010 nm were experimentally characterized.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare prenatal and postnatal brain microstructure between infants that underwent fetoscopic myelomeningocele (MMC) repair and those that had open-hysterotomy repair. METHODS This was a longitudinal retrospective cohort study of 57 fetuses that met the Management of Myelomeningocele Study (MOMS) trial criteria and underwent prenatal MMC repair, by a fetoscopic (n = 27) or open-hysterotomy (n = 30) approach, at 21.4-25.9 weeks' gestation. Fetoscopic repair was performed under CO2 insufflation, according to our protocol. Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed before surgery in 30 cases (14 fetoscopic and 16 open), at 6 weeks postsurgery in 48 cases (24 fetoscopic and 24 open) and within the first year after birth in 23 infants (five fetoscopic and 18 open). Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from the basal ganglia, frontal, occipital and parietal lobes, mesencephalon and genu as well as splenium of the corpus callosum were calculated. ADC values at each of the three timepoints (presurgery, 6 weeks postsurgery and postnatally) and the percentage change in the ADC values between the timepoints were compared between the fetoscopic-repair and open-repair groups. ADC values at 6 weeks after surgery in the two prenatally repaired groups were compared with those in a control group of eight healthy fetuses that underwent MRI at a similar gestational age (GA). Comparison of ADC values was performed using the Student's t-test for independent samples (or Mann-Whitney U-test if non-normally distributed) and multivariate general linear model analysis, adjusting for GA or age at MRI and mean ventricular width. RESULTS There were no differences in GA at surgery or GA/postnatal age at MRI between the groups. No significant differences were observed in ADC values in any of the brain areas assessed between the open-repair and fetoscopic-repair groups at 6 weeks after surgery and in the first year after birth. No differences were detected in the ADC values of the studied areas between the control and prenatally repaired groups, except for significantly increased ADC values in the genu of the corpus callosum in the open-hysterotomy and fetoscopic-repair groups. Additionally, there were no differences between the two prenatally repaired groups in the percentage change in ADC values at any of the time intervals analyzed. CONCLUSIONS Fetoscopic MMC repair has no detectable effect on brain microstructure when compared to babies repaired using an open-hysterotomy technique. CO2 insufflation of the uterine cavity during fetoscopy does not seem to have any isolated deleterious effects on fetal brain microstructure. Copyright © 2019 ISUOG. Abstract
In recent years, CRISPR/Cas9 has become known as a powerful tool for generating genetically modified cells or animal models with its site-specific gene editing capability. Because myostatin (MSTN) is associated with muscle differentiation and growth, ablation of MSTN would be ideal for studying phenotypes associated with muscle growth in beef cattle. The aim of this study is to produce Korean beef cattle with MSTN mutation through microinjection of CRISPR/Cas9. For this study, ovaries of Korean beef cattle were obtained from slaughterhouses; 122 immature oocytes were aspirated from 8 Korean beef cattle. The oocytes were matured in tissue culture medium 199-based medium for 22h and inseminated with frozen-thawed semen to produce zygotes. All 122 zygotes were directly injected with 200ng of Cas9 mRNA and 100ng of sgRNA for MSTN after IVF and were cultured for 7 days in two-step chemically defined medium. Each embryo from the individual cattle was cultured separately to distinguish its lineage. After 7 d, 29 (23.8±8.9) blastocysts were recovered, and all blastocysts were assessed with T7 endonuclease (T7E1) mutation assay to check for mutations at the MSTN locus. Based on T7E1, 26 out of 29 blastocysts (89.7±10.5%) had heterozygous mutation in the MSTN gene. After analysis, additional blastocysts were produced and transferred into 14 surrogates. All surrogates were diagnosed for pregnancy via rectal palpation and ultrasonography at Day 55, at which time normal fetuses and embryonic sacs were confirmed in 10 surrogates. In conclusion, these data demonstrate that CRISPR/Cas9 could be employed as an efficient method to genetically modify the MSTN gene in Korean beef cattle.

Abstract
Electronic band engineering is a promising approach to enhance the thermopower of thermoelectric materials. In transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), this has so far only been achieved using their inherent semiconducting nature. Here, we report the thickness-modulated band engineering of nanosheets based on semimetallic platinum diselenide (PtSe2) resulting in a thermopower enhancement of more than 50 times than that of the bulk. We obtained this by introducing a semimetal to semiconductor (SMSC) transition resulting in the formation of a bandgap. This approach based on semimetallic TMDCs provides potential advantages such as a large variation of transport properties, a decrease of the ambipolar transport effect, and a high carrier density dependence of the transport properties. Our observations suggest that the SMSC transition in TMDCs is a promising and straightforward strategy for the development of two-dimensional nanostructured thermoelectric materials.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Approximately 10–25% of ischemic strokes are of unknown origin. Determining their potential association with subclinical atrial fibrillation (SCAF) is important for proper secondary prevention. We investigated whether SCAF can be predicted by assessing the atrial substrate with signal-averaged electrocardiography (SAECG).
Methods
Between April 2015 and February 2018, we recruited 125 consecutive patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) and 125 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) patients as control. All participants underwent P wave SAECG at baseline and ESUS patients were followed up with ECG and Holter ECG, at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months after discharge, and every 12 months thereafter.
Results
In the ESUS group (69 males, 68.4±12.1 years), 32 (25.6%) patients were diagnosed with SCAF during follow-up. There were no significant differences between both groups in terms of P wave duration [PWD] (ESUS vs. AF, P=0.321). PWD demonstrated a significant predictive efficacy for SCAF detection during follow-up (C-index of standard PWD=0.657, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.552–0.761, P=0.008).
Stroke recurrence occurred in 22 patients (17.6%) and was significantly associated with PWD but not SCAF (odds ratio 2.756, 95% CI 1.061–7.161, P=0.037).
Conclusion
PWD, an ECG biomarker associated with atrial substrate directly contributes to AF and ESUS, is useful for predicting SCAF. The potential for using this simple ECG biomarker for screening for SCAF amongst ESUS patients merits further exploration.

Abstract
N-containing gaseous compounds, such as trimethylamine (TMA), triethylamine (TEA), ammonia (NH3), nitrogen monoxide (NO), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) exude irritating odors and are harmful to the human respiratory system at high concentrations. In this study, we investigated the sensing responses of five sensor materials—Al-doped ZnO (AZO) nanoparticles (NPs), Pt-loaded AZO NPs, a Pt-loaded WO3 (Pt-WO3) thin film, an Au-loaded WO3 (Au-WO3) thin film, and N-doped graphene—to the five aforementioned gases at a concentration of 10 parts per million (ppm). The ZnO- and WO3-based materials exhibited n-type semiconducting behavior, and their responses to tertiary amines were significantly higher than those of nitric oxides. The N-doped graphene exhibited p-type semiconducting behavior and responded only to nitric oxides. The Au- and Pt-WO3 thin films exhibited extremely high responses of approximately 100,000 for 10 ppm of triethylamine (TEA) and approximately −2700 for 10 ppm of NO2, respectively. These sensing responses are superior to those of previously reported sensors based on semiconducting metal oxides. On the basis of the sensing response results, we drew radar plots, which indicated that selective pattern recognition could be achieved by using the five sensing materials together. Thus, we demonstrated the possibility to distinguish each type of gas by applying the patterns to recognition techniques.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION These Guidelines aim to describe appropriate assessment of fetal biometry and diagnosis of fetal growth disorders. These disorders consist mainly of fetal growth restriction (FGR), also referred to as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and often associated with small‐for‐gestational age (SGA), and large‐for‐gestational age (LGA), which may lead to fetal macrosomia; both have been associated with a variety of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. Screening for, and adequate management of, fetal growth abnormalities are essential components of antenatal care, and fetal ultrasound plays a key role in assessment of these conditions. The fetal biometric parameters measured most commonly are biparietal diameter (BPD), head circumference (HC), abdominal circumference (AC) and femur diaphysis length (FL). These biometric measurements can be used to estimate fetal weight (EFW) using various different formulae1. It is important to differentiate between the concept of fetal size at a given timepoint and fetal growth, the latter being a dynamic process, the assessment of which requires at least two ultrasound scans separated in time. Maternal history and symptoms, amniotic fluid assessment and Doppler velocimetry can provide additional information that may be used to identify fetuses at risk of adverse pregnancy outcome. Accurate estimation of gestational age is a prerequisite for determining whether fetal size is appropriate‐for‐gestational age (AGA). Except for pregnancies arising from assisted reproductive technology, the date of conception cannot be determined precisely. Clinically, most pregnancies are dated by the last menstrual period, though this may sometimes be uncertain or unreliable. Therefore, dating pregnancies by early ultrasound examination at 8–14 weeks, based on measurement of the fetal crown–rump length (CRL), appears to be the most reliable method to establish gestational age. Once the CRL exceeds 84 mm, HC should be used for pregnancy dating2–4. HC, with or without FL, can be used for estimation of gestational age from the mid‐trimester if a first‐trimester scan is not available and the menstrual history is unreliable. When the expected delivery date has been established by an accurate early scan, subsequent scans should not be used to recalculate the gestational age1. Serial scans can be used to determine if interval growth has been normal. In these Guidelines, we assume that the gestational age is known and has been determined as described above, the pregnancy is singleton and the fetal anatomy is normal. Details of the grades of recommendation used in these Guidelines are given in Appendix 1. Reporting of levels of evidence is not applicable to these Guidelines.

Abstract
Multi-sensor perception systems may have mismatched coordinates between each sensor even if the sensor coordinates are converted to a common coordinate. This discrepancy can be due to the sensor noise, deformation of the sensor mount, and other factors. These mismatched coordinates can seriously affect the estimation of a distant object's position and this error can result in problems with object identification. To overcome these problems, numerous coordinate correction methods have been studied to minimize coordinate mismatching, such as off-line sensor error modeling and real-time error estimation methods. The first approach, off-line sensor error modeling, cannot cope with the occurrence of a mismatched coordinate in real-time. The second approach, using real-time error estimation methods, has high computational complexity due to the singular value decomposition. Therefore, we present a fast online coordinate correction method based on a reduced sensor position error model with dominant parameters and estimate the parameters by using rapid math operations. By applying the fast coordinate correction method, we can reduce the computational effort within the necessary tolerance of the estimation error. By experiments, the computational effort was improved by up to 99.7% compared to the previous study, and regarding the object's radar the identification problems were improved by 94.8%. We conclude that the proposed method provides sufficient correcting performance for autonomous driving applications when the multi-sensor coordinates are mismatched.

Abstract
A key component of transmission-based precautions (TBPs) is the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) but healthcare worker (HCW) adherence remains suboptimal. A human factors-based intervention was implemented to improve adherence to TBPs including (i) improved signage, (ii) standardized placement of signage, (iii) introduction of a mask with integrated face shield, and (iv) improvement in PPE availability. Donning of the correct PPE by HCWs improved significantly (79.7 vs 56.4%; P < 0.001). This approach may be more effective than education alone, but further study is required to determine sustainability and subsequent impact on transmission of healthcare-associated infections.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine if brain imaging in fetuses that underwent prenatal repair of neural tube defect (NTD) can predict the need for postnatal hydrocephalus treatment (HT) in the first year postpartum. METHODS This was a retrospective study of fetuses diagnosed with open NTD that had in-utero myelomeningocele repair between April 2014 and April 2016. Independent variables were collected from four chronological sets of fetal images: presurgery ultrasound, presurgery magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 6-week postsurgery MRI and predelivery ultrasound. The following independent variables were collected from all image sets unless otherwise noted: gestational age, head circumference, mean ventricular width, ventricular volume (MRI only), hindbrain herniation (HBH) score (MRI only), and level of lesion (LOL), defined as the upper bony spinal defect (presurgery ultrasound only). Based on these measurements, additional variables were defined and calculated including change in degree of HBH, ventricular width growth (mm/week) and ventricular volume growth (mL/week). The need for HT (by either ventriculoperitoneal shunt or endoscopic third ventriculostomy with choroid plexus cauterization) was determined by a pediatric neurosurgeon using clinical and radiographic criteria; a secondary analysis was performed using the MOMS trial criteria for hydrocephalus. The predictive value of each parameter was assessed by receiver-operating characteristics curve and logistic regression analyses. RESULTS Fifty affected fetuses were included in the study, of which 32 underwent open hysterotomy and 18 fetoscopic repair. Two neonates from the open hysterotomy group died and were excluded from the analysis. The mean gestational ages for the presurgery ultrasound, presurgery MRI, postsurgery MRI and predelivery ultrasound were 21.8 ± 2.1, 22.0 ± 1.8, 30.4 ± 1.6 and 31.0 ± 4.9 weeks, respectively. A total of 16 subjects required HT. The area under the curve (AUC) of predictive accuracy for HT showed that HBH grading on postsurgery MRI had the strongest predictive value (0.86; P < 0.01), outperforming other predictors such as postsurgery MRI ventricular volume (0.73; P = 0.03), MRI ventricular volume growth (0.79; P = 0.01), change in HBH (0.82; P = 0.01), and mean ventricular width on predelivery ultrasound (0.73; P = 0.01). Other variables, such as LOL, mean ventricular width on presurgery ultrasound, mean ventricular width on presurgery and postsurgery MRI, and ventricular growth assessment by MRI or ultrasound, had AUCs < 0.7. Optimal cut-offs of the variables with the highest AUC were evaluated to improve prediction. A combination of ventricular volume growth ≥ 2.02 mL/week and/or HBH of 3 on postsurgery MRI were the optimal cut-offs for the best prediction (odds ratio (OR), 42 (95% CI, 4-431); accuracy, 84%). Logistic regression analyses showed that persistence of severe HBH 6 weeks after surgery by MRI is one of the best predictors for HT (OR, 39 (95% CI, 4-369); accuracy, 84%). There was no significant change in the results when the MOMS trial criteria for hydrocephalus were used as the dependent variable. CONCLUSIONS Persistence of HBH on MRI 6 weeks after prenatal NTD repair independently predicted the need for postnatal HT better than any ultrasound- or other MRI-derived measurements of ventricular characteristics. These results should aid in prenatal counseling and add support to the hypothesis that HBH is a significant driver of hydrocephalus in myelomeningocele patients. Copyright © 2019 ISUOG. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The effect of fetoscopic myelomeningocele (MMC) repair on fetal growth is unknown. Fetal surgery itself and/or exposure to a carbon dioxide (CO2 ) environment during spina bifida repair may affect placental function and impair fetal growth. Our aim was to assess and compare growth in fetuses, neonates and infants who underwent prenatal fetoscopic or open MMC repair. METHODS Fetal biometrics were obtained serially using ultrasound after fetoscopic (n = 32) or open hysterotomy (n = 34) MMC repair in utero at a single institution between November 2011 and July 2017. Measurements obtained during growth scans on initial evaluation prior to surgery, and those taken at 6 weeks post-surgery, were transformed into percentiles and compared between groups. Additional neonatal and infant anthropometric measurements, including weight, length/height and head circumference, were also transformed into percentiles and compared between the groups. The proportions of cases in each group with estimated fetal weight (EFW) or postnatal weight < 10th and < 3rd percentiles were calculated and compared. A linear mixed model was used to analyze the serial fetal growth measurements of each parameter, and random intercepts and slopes were used to compare study variables between the study groups. The duration of surgery (skin-to-skin time at fetoscopic and open MMC repair) and duration of CO2 exposure (fetoscopic repair) were evaluated for any effect on the fetal, neonatal or infant biometric percentiles. RESULTS Fetuses which underwent fetoscopic repair had a larger abdominal circumference percentile at referral (57 ± 21 vs 46 ± 23; P = 0.04). There were no other differences between the two groups in fetal biometric percentiles at the time of referral, 6 weeks post-surgery or at birth. There were no differences between groups in EFW percentile or in proportions of cases with birth weight < 10th and < 3rd percentiles. Linear mixed-model analysis did not show any significant differences in any fetal growth parameter between the groups over time. There were no significant correlations between duration of surgery or duration of CO2 exposure and any of the biometric percentiles evaluated. Postnatal growth showed no significant differences between the groups in weight, height or head circumference percentiles, at 6-18, 18-30 or > 30 months of age. CONCLUSIONS Babies exposed to fetoscopic or open MMC repair in-utero did not show significant differences in fetal or postnatal growth parameters. Abstract
OBJECTIVES We investigated the incidence of immediate hypersensitivity reaction (HSR) caused by different types of low-osmolar contrast media (LOCM) and cumulative exposure to LOCM. METHODS This cohort study included all consecutive patients who underwent LOCM-enhanced computed tomography from 2012 through 2014. We assessed 5 LOCM (iobitridol, iohexol, iomeprol, iopamidol, and iopromide). All patients were monitored for adverse events, and new symptoms and signs were recorded in real time using the Contrast Safety Monitoring and Management System (CoSM2oS). RESULTS The overall incidence of immediate HSR to LOCM was 0.97% (2004 events resulting from 205 726 exposures). Incidence differed significantly depending on whether the patient had a previous history of HSR to LOCM (0.80% in patients with no history and 16.99% in patients with a positive history of HSR to LOCM, P=.001). The incidence of HSR to individual LOCM ranged from 0.72% (iohexol) to 1.34% (iomeprol), although there were no significant differences across the 5 LOCM. A longitudinal analysis demonstrated that the incidence of HSR increased gradually with more frequent previous exposure to LOCM (HR=2.006 [95%CI, 1.517-2.653], P<.001). However, this cumulative increase in risk was observed in patients who had experienced HSR to LOCM, but not in those who had not. CONCLUSION The incidence of HSR did not differ significantly across the 5 LOCM assessed in the study. Repeated exposure to LOCM did not increase the risk of HSR among patients who had never experienced HSR to LOCM.

Abstract
Wetting of the liquid metal on the solid electrolyte of a liquid metal battery controls the operating temperature and performance of the battery. Liquid sodium electrodes are particularly attractive because of their low cost, natural abundance, and geological distribution. However, they wet poorly on a solid electrolyte near its melting temperature, limiting their widespread suitability for low-temperature batteries to be used for large-scale energy storage systems. Herein, we develop an isolated metal-island strategy that can improve sodium wetting in sodium-beta alumina batteries that allows operation at lower temperatures. Our results suggest that in situ heat treatment of a solid electrolyte followed by bismuth deposition effectively eliminates oxygen and moisture from the surface of the solid electrolyte, preventing the formation of an oxide layer on the liquid sodium, leading to enhanced wetting. We also show that employing isolated bismuth islands significantly improves cell performance, with cells retaining 94% of their charge after the initial cycle, an improvement over cells without bismuth islands. These results suggest that coating isolated metal islands is a promising and straightforward strategy for the development of low-temperature sodium-β alumina batteries.

Abstract
A large-aperture beam splitter has been developed for simultaneous operation of two millimeter-wave diagnostics employing different probe beams in the frequency and polarization, microwave imaging reflectometer (∼85 GHz X-mode), and collective scattering system (300 GHz O-mode), on the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research device. The beam splitter was designed based on a polarizer concept (i.e., grid of metal strips on a thin dielectric sheet), and this can be an optimal solution for these two diagnostics. Fabrication of the strips with uniform sub-millimeter width and spacing on a large dielectric sheet was achieved with an etching technique, and the laboratory test results on the reflection and transmission ratio are in good agreement with design values.

Abstract
AbstractParasitic diseases are relatively rarely diagnosed and treated in Europe. Therefore, European clinicians are not familiar with their clinical and imaging features. In an era of increased human migration, it is fundamental for clinicians to be able to identify such diseases. We have recently described the features of cystic echinococcosis, schistosomiasis, fascioliasis and ascariasis. Here, we report on the clinical and imaging features as well as on the current therapy options of infections by the small liver flukes: Clonorchis sinensis, Opisthorchis viverrini (Southeast Asian liver fluke) and Opisthorchis felineus (cat liver fluke) and other Opisthorchis species prevalent in South Asia.

Abstract
The polarized optical states in the transmission spectrum of a twisted-nematic Fabry–Pérot cavity with the distinctly broken Mauguin’s waveguide regime have been theoretically and experimentally investigated. Specific features of the electric field-induced transformation of the polarization and spectral characteristics of eigenmodes of the neighboring series at the overlap resonant frequencies have been examined. It is demonstrated that the linear polarizations of eigenmodes at the cavity boundaries remain nearly orthogonal and their frequency trajectories reproduce the avoided crossing phenomenon. The experimental data are confirmed analytically and by the numerical simulation of light transmission through the investigated anisotropic multilayer with the use of a Berreman matrix method. The results obtained can be generalized to any materials with the helix response.
