Abstract
Large-scale pre-trained models, such as BERT, have demonstrated outstanding performance in Natural Language Processing (NLP). Nevertheless, the high number of parameters in these models has increased the demand for hardware storage and computational resources while posing a challenge for their practical deployment. In this article, we propose a combined method of model pruning and knowledge distillation to compress and accelerate large-scale pre-trained language models. Specifically, we introduce a dynamic structure pruning method based on differentiable search and recursive knowledge distillation to automatically prune the BERT model, named DDK. We define the search space for network pruning as all feed-forward layer channels and self-attention heads at each layer of the network, and utilize differentiable methods to determine their optimal number. Additionally, we design a recursive knowledge distillation method that employs adaptive weighting to extract the most important features from multiple intermediate layers of the teacher model and fuse them to supervise the student network learning. Our experimental results on the GLUE benchmark dataset and ablation analysis demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms other advanced methods in terms of average performance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cases of bilateral hip fractures are rare, and even more so are cases of bilateral intertrochanteric fractures. Common causes include trauma, internal diseases, and primary or secondary bone diseases. We report a case of bilateral intertrochanteric fractures in an elderly patient following a severe car accident, a scenario not extensively reported in existing literature. CASE PRESENTATION We report on an 84-year-old male who suffered severe trauma from a car accident, resulting in multiple injuries and shock state, with pain and limited mobility in both hip joints. After examination and imaging studies, the patient was diagnosed with multiple injuries and bilateral intertrochanteric fractures. Following emergency resuscitation, he was admitted to the orthopedic ward. A pre-surgical multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultation was convened to optimize surgical conditions. The patient underwent successful one-stage bilateral intramedullary nailing. The patient was assisted to stand with a walker on the third day after surgery. Six months post-surgery, the patient resumed outdoor activities. CONCLUSION Managing bilateral intertrochanteric fractures, particularly in the elderly with severe trauma, is notably challenging due to their rarity. However, a coordinated multidisciplinary approach and one-stage bilateral internal fixation can lead to effective treatment outcomes and favorable prognoses.

Abstract
Breast cancer (BRCA) is currently the most commonly diagnosed malignancy in women worldwide. Previous studies have demonstrated that mitophagy is important for the prevention and treatment of BRCA. However, few studies have focused on the individual mitochondrial autophagy-related genes (MARG) in human cancers. Based on bioinformatics analyses, TOMM40 was identified as a prognostic DEMARG (PDEMARGs); Kaplan-Meier (KM) survival analysis also indicates that TOMM40 can be useful as a prognostic indicator in BRCAs, with patients in the high expression group having a poorer prognosis. For 20 distinct cancer kinds, there were appreciable differences in the expression of TOMM40 between tumor and normal tissues; in addition, in 21 different cancer types, there were associations between the expression profile of TOMM40 and patient prognosis. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), functional enrichment analysis, and immunological and drug sensitivity analyses of TOMM40 have indicated its biological significance in pan-cancers. Knockdown of TOMM40 in MDA-MB-231 cells inhibited their proliferation, migration, and invasiveness. In conclusion, we found that TOMM40 has prognostic value in 21 cancers, including breast cancer, by bioinformatics analysis. Based on immune correlation analysis, TOMM40 may also be a potential immunotherapeutic target for the treatment of BRCA. Therefore, our results may provide researchers to further explore the role of MARGs, especially TOMM40, in the developmental process of breast cancer, which may provide new directions and targets for the improvement of prognosis of breast cancer patients and their treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Analysis of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) offers valuable insights into distinguishing the effects of closely related medical procedures from the patient's perspective. In this study we compared symptom burden in patients undergoing uniportal thoracoscopic segmentectomy and wedge resection for peripheral small-sized non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). METHODS This study included patients with peripheral NSCLC from an ongoing longitudinal prospective cohort study (CN-PRO-Lung 3) who underwent segmentectomy or wedge resection with tumor diameter ≤ 2 cm and consolidation tumor ratio (CTR) ≤ 0.5. PROs data were collected using the Perioperative Symptom Assessment for Lung Surgery questionnaire pre-operatively, daily post-surgery up to the fourth hospitalization day, and weekly post-discharge up to the fourth week. Propensity score matching and a generalized estimation equation model were employed to compare symptom severity. In addition, short-term clinical outcomes were compared. RESULTS In total, data of 286 patients (82.4%) undergoing segmentectomy and 61 patients (17.6%) undergoing wedge resection were extracted from the cohort. No statistically significant differences were found in the proportion of moderate-to-severe symptoms and mean scores for pain, cough, shortness of breath, disturbed sleep, fatigue, drowsiness, and distress during the 4-day postoperative hospitalization or the 4-week post-discharge period before or after matching (all p > 0.05). Compared with segmentectomy, wedge resection showed better short-term clinical outcomes, including shorter operative time (p = 0.001), less intraoperative bleeding (p = 0.046), and lower total hospital costs (p = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS The study findings indicate that uniportal thoracoscopic segmentectomy and wedge resection exert similar early postoperative symptom burden in patients with peripheral NSCLC (tumor diameter ≤ 2 cm and CTR ≤ 0.5). Abstract
Despite data showing that nutritional interventions high in antioxidant/anti-inflammatory properties (anthocyanin-rich foods, such as blueberries/elderberries) may decrease risk of memory loss and cognitive decline, evidence for such effects in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is limited. This study examined preliminary effects of American elderberry (Sambucus nigra subsp. canadensis) juice on cognition and inflammatory markers in patients with MCI. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, patients with MCI (n = 24, Mage = 76.33 ± 6.95) received American elderberry (n = 11) or placebo (n = 13) juice (5 mL orally 3 times a day) for 6 months. At baseline, 3 months, and 6 months, patients completed tasks measuring global cognition, verbal memory, language, visuospatial cognitive flexibility/problem solving, and memory. A subsample (n = 12, 7 elderberry/5 placebo) provided blood samples to measure serum inflammatory markers. Multilevel models examined effects of the condition (elderberry/placebo), time (baseline/3 months/6 months), and condition by time interactions on cognition/inflammation outcomes. Attrition rates for elderberry (18%) and placebo (15%) conditions were fairly low. The dosage compliance (elderberry-97%; placebo-97%) and completion of cognitive (elderberry-88%; placebo-87%) and blood-based (elderberry-100%; placebo-100%) assessments was high. Elderberry (not placebo) trended (p = 0.09) towards faster visuospatial problem solving performance from baseline to 6 months. For the elderberry condition, there were significant or significantly trending decreases over time across several markers of low-grade peripheral inflammation, including vasorin, prenylcysteine oxidase 1, and complement Factor D. Only one inflammatory marker showed an increase over time (alpha-2-macroglobin). In contrast, for the placebo, several inflammatory marker levels increased across time (L-lactate dehydrogenase B chain, complement Factor D), with one showing deceased levels over time (L-lactate dehydrogenase A chain). Daily elderberry juice consumption in patients with MCI is feasible and well tolerated and may provide some benefit to visuospatial cognitive flexibility. Preliminary findings suggest elderberry juice may reduce low-grade inflammation compared to a placebo-control. These promising findings support the need for larger, more definitive prospective studies with longer follow-ups to better understand mechanisms of action and the clinical utility of elderberries for potentially mitigating cognitive decline.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the current status and its associated factors of dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes among adolescents in Shandong Province and explore the reasons for dual use behavior. Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted among 7 999 middle school students who were selected by stratified multi-stage cluster sample method. Data were weighted and analyzed by the SPSS 25.0 complex program. Results: In Shandong Province, the prevalence rates of attempting and current dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes among adolescents appeared as 7.7% and 1.3%, respectively. Male, friends smoking, and secondhand smoke exposure in the past 7 days were risk factors for dual use. Compared with cigarette smokers, dual users have no differences in cognition and behavior in quitting smoking (P>0.05). The main reason for dual users to smoke e-cigarettes was curiosity. Conclusions: Dual use of e-cigarettes and cigarettes is common among adolescents in Shandong Province, and its influencing factors are similar to traditional cigarettes. Dual use is not a transitional stage for smoking cessation. Dual users are more likely to continue smoking in the future, which should be paid attention and concern.

Abstract
Human pose estimation has numerous applications in motion recognition, virtual reality, human-computer interaction, and other related fields. However, multi-person pose estimation in crowded and occluded scenes is challenging. One major issue about the current top-down human pose estimation approaches is that they are limited to predicting the pose of a single person, even when the bounding box contains multiple individuals. To address this problem, we propose a novel Crowd and Occlusion-aware Network (CONet) using a divide-and-conquer strategy. Our approach includes a Crowd and Occlusion-aware Head (COHead) which estimates the pose of both the occluder and the occluded person using two separate branches. We also use the attention mechanism to guide the branches for differentiated learning, aiming to improve feature representation. Additionally, we propose a novel interference point loss to enhance the model's anti-interference ability. Our CONet is simple yet effective, and it outperforms the state-of-the-art model by +1.6 AP, achieving 71.6 AP on CrowdPose. Our proposed model has achieved state-of-the-art results on the CrowdPose dataset, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving the accuracy of human pose estimation in crowded and occluded scenes. This achievement highlights the potential of our model in many real-world applications where accurate human pose estimation is crucial, such as surveillance, sports analysis, and human-computer interaction.

Abstract
Mediastinal haemangiomas pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges owing to their rarity and complex anatomy. A 36-year-old man, with a history of smoking and drinking, presented with a posterior mediastinal mass with back pain. Initial investigations suggested a lymphangioma. However, owing to persistent symptoms and complex pathology, we performed surgical intervention involving open resection of the tumour, which was closely associated with the descending aorta and extended into the right posterior mediastinum. The surgical approach was influenced by the proximity of the tumour to vital structures, necessitating an open procedure. Postoperative complications included chylothorax, managed with a fat-free diet. The final pathological diagnosis was consistent with a benign vascular tumour with a low proliferative rate. Two months post-surgery, computed tomography revealed no complications, and the patient's pain had decreased. A multidisciplinary approach and surgical intervention played important roles in the diagnosis and treatment of this posterior mediastinal haemangioma.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The hemoglobin glycation index (HGI) is the difference between the observed and predicted values of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), which is closely associated with a variety of poor prognoses. However, there are still no studies on the correlation between HGI and poor prognosis in patients with critical coronary artery disease. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between HGI and all-cause mortality in patients with critical coronary artery disease using the MIMIC-IV database. METHODS The HGI was calculated by constructing a linear regression equation between HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose (FPG). A Kaplan‒Meier survival analysis model was constructed based on the HGI quartiles to clarify the differences in all-cause mortality rates between groups, and the log-rank test was used to assess the differences between groups. The hazard ratio (HR) of HGI as a risk factor for outcome events was assessed using the Cox proportional risk model and restricted cubic spline (RCS), with the Q2 group serving as the reference group. RESULTS A total of 5260 patients were included in this study. The 30-day mortality rate of the patients was 4.94% and the mortality rate within 365 days was 13.12%. A low HGI was significantly associated with 30-day mortality (HR, 1.96; 95% CI, (1.38, 2.78); P < 0.001) and 365-day mortality (HR, 1.48; 95% CI, (1.19, 1.85); P < 0.001) in patients with critical coronary artery disease in the completely adjusted Cox proportional risk model. In addition, high levels of HGI were associated with 365-day mortality (HR, 1.31; 95% CI, (1.02, 1.69); P < 0.05). RCS analysis revealed a U-shaped relationship between HGI and outcome events. According to the stratified analysis, the interaction test revealed that the correlation between HGI and outcome events remained stable. CONCLUSION There was a significant correlation between HGI and all-cause mortality in patients with critical coronary artery disease, particularly in those with low HGI. HGI can be used as a potential indicator for assessing the short- and long-term risk of mortality in such patients.

Abstract
The geometric structure of the BAs/WTe2heterojunction was scrutinized by employingab initiocalculations grounded on density functional theory. Multiple configurations are constructed to determine the equilibrium state of the heterojunction with optimal stability. The results show that the H1-type heterojunction with interlayer distance of 3.92 Å exhibits exceptional stability and showcases a conventional Type-II band alignment, accompanied by a direct band gap measuring 0.33 eV. By applying external electric field and introducing strain, one can efficaciously modulate both the band gap and the quantity of charge transfer in the heterojunction, accompanied by the transition of band alignment from Type-II to Type-I, which makes it expected to achieve broader applications in light-emitting diodes, laser detectors and other fields. Ultimately, the heterojunction undergoes a transformation from a semiconducting to a metallic state. Furthermore, the outstanding optical characteristics inherent to each of the two monolayers are preserved, the BAs/WTe2heterojunction also serves to enhance the absorption coefficient and spectral range of the material, particularly within the ultraviolet spectrum. It merits emphasis that the optical properties of the BAs/WTe2heterojunction are capable of modification through the imposition of external electric fields and mechanical strains, which will expand its applicability and potential for future progression within the domains of nanodevices and optoelectronic apparatus.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) is a rare and highly malignant type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), for which the treatment of choice is surgery. For peripheral PSC growing outward and invading the chest wall, a complete resection of the affected lung lobes and the invaded chest wall can improve long-term prognosis. However, when the extent of the resected chest wall is large, reconstruction is often required to reduce the risk of postoperative complications. Here, we present a case of PSC invading the chest wall treated with successful extended radical resection for lung cancer and chest wall reconstruction. CASE PRESENTATION A 58-year-old male patient with a nodule in the right upper lobe that had been identified on physical examination 2 years before presentation presented to our hospital with a recent cough, expectoration, and chest pain. Imaging revealed a mass in the right upper lobe that had invaded the chest wall. Preoperative puncture pathology revealed poorly differentiated NSCLC. We performed extended radical resection for lung cancer under open surgery and reconstructed the chest wall using stainless steel wire and polypropylene meshes. The procedure was uneventful, and the patient was discharged 7 days postoperatively. Furthermore, the final pathology revealed PSC. CONCLUSIONS This case underscores the feasibility of surgical R0 resection in patients with PSC with chest wall invasion and no lymph node metastasis, potentially enhancing long-term outcomes. The novel aspect of this case lies in the individualized chest wall reconstruction for a large defect, using cost-effective materials that offered satisfactory structural support and postoperative recovery, thereby providing a valuable reference for similar future surgical interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND According to the World Health Organisation's Health Report 2019, approximately 17.18 million people die from cardiovascular disease each year, accounting for more than 30% of all global deaths. Therefore, the occurrence of cardiovascular disease is still a global concern. The transcription factor 21 (TCF21) plays an important role in cardiovascular diseases. This article reviews the regulation mechanism of TCF21 expression and activity and focuses on its important role in atherosclerosis in order to contribute to the development of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. SUMMARY TCF21 is involved in the phenotypic regulation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), promotes the proliferation and migration of VSMCs, and participates in the activation of inflammatory sequences. Increased proliferation and migration of VSMCs can lead to neointimal hyperplasia after vascular injury. Abnormal hyperplasia of neointima and inflammation are one of the main features of atherosclerosis. Therefore, targeting TCF21 may become a potential treatment for relieving atherosclerosis. KEY MESSAGES TCF21 as a member of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors regulates cell growth and differentiation by modulating gene expression during the development of different organs and plays an important role in cardiovascular development and disease. VSMCs and cells derived from VSMCs constitute the majority of plaques in atherosclerosis. TCF21 plays a key role in regulation of VSMCs' phenotype, thus accelerating atherogenesis in the early stage. However, TCF21 enhances plaque stability in late-stage atherosclerosis. The dual role of TCF21 should be considered in the translational medicine.

Abstract
Besides programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression, rapid, cost-effective and validated scores or models are critical for the prognosis and prediction of patients received immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). In this retrospective study, 182 patients with NSCLC receiving ICIs from 2015 to 2022 were divided 1:1 into a training cohort and a validation cohort. We identified a score established by three factors and analyzed the prognostic implications by Kaplan-Meier approach (Log rank test) and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses. A non-tumor-related score (NTRS) was established that could be used as a prognostic factor (HR 2.260, 95% CI 1.559-3.276, P < 0.001 in training cohort; HR 2.114, 95% CI 1.493-2.994, P < 0.001 in validation cohort) and had a high time-dependent ROC for overall survival (OS) (AUC 0.670-0.782 in training cohort; AUC 0.682-0.841 in validation cohort). PD-L1 (1-49%) and NTRS (score = 0, 1, 2, 3) combination significantly improved the assessment of patients' OS and progress-free survival (PFS), which was statistically different in training cohorts (P < 0.001 for OS, 0.012 for PFS) and validation cohorts (P = 0.01 for OS, < 0.001 for PFS). The NTRS provided a better assessment of durable clinical benefit (DCB) compared to PD-L1 expression (P = 0.009 vs. 0.232 in training cohort; P = 0.004 vs. 0.434 in validation cohort). NTRS may help improve prognosis stratification of patients receiving ICIs in first-line NSCLC and may be combined with tumor-related parameters.

Abstract
The degradation and attenuation of light in underwater images impose constraints on underwater vision tasks. However, the complexity and the low real-time performance of most current image enhancement algorithms make them challenging in practical applications. To address the above issues, we propose a new lightweight framework for underwater image enhancement. We adopt the curve estimation to learn the mapping between images rather than end-to-end networks, which greatly reduces the requirement for computing resources. Firstly, a designed iterative curve with parameters is used to simulate the mapping from the raw to the enhanced image. Then, the parameters of this curve are learned with a parameter estimation network called CieNet and a set of loss functions. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method is superior to existing algorithms in terms of evaluating indexes and visual perception quality. Furthermore, our highly lightweight network enables it to be easily integrated into small devices, making it highly applicable. The extremely short running-time of our method facilitates real-time underwater image enhancement.

Abstract
Chronic pain is a serious problem that affects billions of people worldwide, but current analgesic drugs limit their use in chronic pain management due to their respective side effects. As a first-line clinical drug for chronic pain, COX-2 selective inhibitors can relieve mild to moderate pain, but they also have some problems. The most prominent one is that their analgesic intensity is not enough, and they cannot well meet the treatment needs of chronic pain. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop COX-2 inhibitors with stronger analgesic intensity. In this article, we used virtual screening method to screen out the structurally novel COX-2 inhibitor for chronic pain management, and conducted a preliminary study on its mechanism of action using molecular dynamics simulation.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to identify longitudinal heterogeneous trajectories of sleep status, adjusted for the effect of pain over time, among patients who had surgery for lung cancer and to quantify how disturbed sleep in the hospital affects functional recovery after discharge. METHODS We included patients from a surgical cohort (CN-PRO-Lung 1). All patients reported symptoms using the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Lung Cancer (MDASI-LC) daily during postoperative hospitalization. Group-based dual trajectory modeling was used to investigate trajectories of disturbed sleep and pain during the first 7 days of postoperative hospitalization. Cox regression was used to compare the recovery of walking ability between the different sleep trajectories. RESULTS Among 421 patients, disturbed sleep trajectories comprised low (31%), moderate (52%), and high (17%) groups. The surgical approach and number of chest tubes were associated with pain, and the number of chest tubes was also associated with sleep disturbances (OR = 1.99; 95% CI: 1.08-3.67). Recovery of walking ability after discharge was significantly slower in the high (median days = 16; 95% CI: 5-NA) and moderate disturbed sleep trajectory groups (median days = 5; 95%CI: 4-6) than in the low group (median days = 3; 95% CI: 3-4). CONCLUSION Changes in disturbed sleep among patients with lung cancer followed three distinct trajectories over the first 7 days of hospitalization after surgery. Dual trajectory analyses highlighted the high concordance between specific trajectories of disturbed sleep and pain. Patients at high sleep disturbance and high levels of pain may benefit from appropriate interventions for both symptoms in combination with the patient's surgical approach and the number of chest tubes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to explore the burden of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) in patients with thalassemia and related risk factors. METHODS The clinical data and MRI of patients with thalassemia were retrospectively analyzed, and non-thalassemia controls with matched sex and age were selected. The modified MRI burden of CSVD included recent small subcortical infarct, presumed vasogenic white matter hyperintensity, presumed vasogenic lacunae, perivascular space (PVS), and brain atrophy. RESULTS This study included 110 patients in each of the thalassemia and control groups. There was no significant difference in sex, age, and common cerebrovascular disease risk factors between the 2 groups. The patients with thalassemia had a higher red blood cell count and lower content of hemoglobin. The PVS and modified MRI burden scores in the thalassemia group were higher than in the control group. With the increase in age, patients with thalassemia have a more severe CSVD burden. CONCLUSION Patients with thalassemia have a heavier modified MRI burden of CSVD than non-thalassemia patients, particularly PVS, and aging is an important risk factor for CSVD changes.

Abstract
To perform multiplex profiling of single cells and eliminate the risk of potential sample loss caused by centrifugation, we developed a microfluidic flow cytometry and mass spectrometry system (μCytoMS) to evaluate the drug uptake and induced protein expression at the single cell level. It involves a microfluidic chip for the alignment and purification of single cells followed by detection with laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Biofunctionalized nanoprobes (BioNPs), conjugating ∼3000 6-FAM-Sgc8 aptamers on a single gold nanoparticle (AuNP) (Kd = 0.23 nM), were engineered to selectively bind with protein tyrosine kinase 7 (PTK7) on target cells. PTK7 expression induced by oxaliplatin (OXA) uptake was assayed with LIF, while ICP-MS measurement of 195Pt revealed OXA uptake of the drug in individual cells, which provided further in-depth information about the drug in relation to PTK7 expression. At an ultralow flow of ∼0.043 dyn/cm2 (20 μL/min), the chip facilitates the extremely fast focusing of BioNPs labeled single cells without the need for centrifugal purification. It ensures multiplex profiling of single cells at a throughput speed of 500 cells/min as compared to 40 cells/min in previous studies. Using a machine learning algorithm to initially profile drug uptake and marker expression in tumor cell lines, μCytoMS was able to perform in situ profiling of the PTK7 response to the OXA at single-cell resolution for tests done on clinical samples from 10 breast cancer patients. It offers great potential for multiplex single-cell phenotypic analysis and clinical diagnosis.

Abstract
Graphene/silicon heterojunction photodetectors suffer from a high dark current due to the high surface states and low barrier height at the interface, which limits their application. In this study, we introduce an HfOx interfacial layer via magnetron sputtering to address this issue. With this new structure, the dark current is reduced by six times under a bias voltage of -2 V. Under 460 nm illumination, the responsivity is 0.228A/W, the detectivity is 1.15 × 1011 cmHz1/2W-1, and the noise equivalent power is 8.75 × 10-5 pW/Hz1/2, demonstrating an excellent weak light detection capability. Additionally, the oxygen vacancies in the HfOx interfacial layer provide a conductive channel for charge carriers, resulting in a 2.03-fold increase in photocurrent and an external quantum efficiency of 76.5%. The photodetector maintains good photoresponse ability at a low bias voltage. This work showcases the outstanding performance of HfOx films as interfacial layer materials and provides a new solution for high-performance photodetectors, as well as a new path to improve the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of solar cells.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the ultrasonographic features of medullary thyroid carcinomas (MTCs) of different sizes and supply valid information for separating MTCs from papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs). Methods: There were 87 patients with MTC and 220 patients with PTC detected by ultrasonography and confirmed by pathology at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from June 2018 to March 2022. Nodules were divided into the large nodule group (the maximum diameter of the tumor was>1 cm) and the small nodule group (the maximum diameter of the tumor was ≤1 cm). There were 97 cases in the small nodule group, including 28 cases of MTC and 69 cases of PTC. There were 210 cases in the large nodule group, including 59 cases of MTC and 151 cases of PTC. After stratification by thyroid nodules, ultrasonographic features of thyroid nodules and metastatic lymph nodes, preoperative serum calcitonin (CT) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels were compared between MTC and PTC patients. Results: In the small nodule group, the proportion of MTCs exhibiting hypoecho, smooth margins, and having blood flow signals was higher than that of PTCs, with statistically significant differences (all P<0.05). In the large nodule group, the proportion of MTCs showing cystic solidity, hypoecho, smooth margins, blood flow, and the type Ⅳvascular distribution was higher than PTCs, and the difference of calcification type between them was also statistically significant (all P<0.05). In contrast, the differences in the number of lesions and aspect ratio between MTCs and PTCs were not statistically significant regardless of nodule size (all P>0.05). In the small nodule group,6 metastatic lymph nodes of medullary thyroid carcinoma (LNM-MTC) and 11 metastatic lymph nodes of papillary thyroid carcinoma (LNM-PTC) were correctly diagnosed by ultrasound, respectively. The diagnostic compliance rate of ultrasound was 78.6% (22/28) and 78.3% (54/69), respectively, with no statistically significant difference (P=0.973). In the large nodule group, 28 LNM-MTC and 11 LNM-PTC were correctly diagnosed by ultrasound, respectively. The diagnostic compliance of ultrasound was 88.1% (52/59) and 73.5% (111/151), respectively, which was statistically significant (P=0.022). Among them, 82.1% of LNM-MTC and 56.6% of LNM-PTC showed abnormal blood flow signals, with a statistically significant difference (P=0.016). There were significant differences in preoperative serum CT and CEA levels of different sizes of MTCs (all P<0.05). Conclusions: Different sizes of MTCs require diverse demonstrative criteria. Abnormal blood flow signal is of great significance in the diagnosis of LNM-MTC. Within the absence of ultrasonic characteristics, preoperative serum CT test can provide confidence for the diagnosis of MTC.

Abstract
Carbon electrode materials with superior rate performance are highly demanded in application scenarios of high power output/input, especially when paired with organic electrolyte for extended voltage window and high energy storage. By extracting thin sheets of entangled cellulose fibers from cell wall structures, porous carbon nanosheets as templated from the cellulose sheets are synthesized. Evident thickness reduction effect has been demonstrated with thickness reduced from several micrometers to several nanometers of the obtained thickness-reduced activated carbon nanosheets (TRAC), which endow the material with a large surface area and high pore volume. The obtained TRAC exhibits significantly enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and superior rate capability thanks to the shortened diffusion pathway and suitable pore size distribution. Effects of sonication time have also been investigated, showing a trade-off between ion diffusion kinetics and pseudocapacitive contribution. This thickness-reduction method is extendable to many other biomass sources as cellulose sheets are widely existed in nature, offering a practical and easy-to-implement strategy of fabricating porous carbon nanostructures for efficient energy storage and utilization.

Abstract
Gyrokinetic simulations of the fishbone instability in DIII-D tokamak plasmas find that self-generated zonal flows can dominate the nonlinear saturation by preventing coherent structures from persisting or drifting in the energetic particle phase space when the mode frequency down-chirps. Results from the simulation with zonal flows agree quantitatively, for the first time, with experimental measurements of the fishbone saturation amplitude and energetic particle transport. Moreover, the fishbone-induced zonal flows are likely responsible for the formation of an internal transport barrier that was observed after fishbone bursts in this DIII-D experiment. Finally, gyrokinetic simulations of a related ITER baseline scenario show that the fishbone induces insignificant energetic particle redistribution and may enable high performance scenarios in ITER burning plasma experiments.

Abstract
The rheological properties of dough closely correlate to a dough's ability to be three-dimensionally (3D) printed, but only weakly characterize its fermentation and baking process. This study aimed to use rheo-fermentation properties to predict rheological properties of dough, thereby obtaining indirect information on both 3D printing properties and post-processing characteristics. The 3D printing behavior and baking quality of the dough were measured. A gluten content of 13% was found to be the most suitable for 3D printing and exhibited desirable performance during fermentation and baking. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a strong correlation between rheological properties and rheo-fermentation properties. Using partial least squares regression-based models, the coefficients of determination of the prediction for rheological parameters (G', G″, η*) were 0.920, 0.854 and 0.863, respectively, with corresponding residual prediction deviation values of 3.063, 3.774, and 4.773. These findings suggest that 3D printing of bread dough products can be easily and successfully accomplished.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Excessive epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of nasal epithelial cells (NECs) play a prominent role in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) pathogenesis. Long intergenic non-coding RNA 01094 (LINC01094) was previously reported to be overexpressed in CRSwNP, while the regulatory mechanism by which LINC01094 regulates CRSwNP progression remains unclear. Our study aimed to investigate the role of LINC01094 in CRSwNP development. METHODS hNEC were isolated from tissues of controls and CRSwNP patients and stimulated with interleukin (IL)-13. 3-(4, 5-Dimethylthiazolyl2)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was employed to analyze hNEC viability. Flow cytometry was employed to analyze pyroptosis. Immunofluorescence was employed to analyze Snail nuclear translocation. The interactions between LINC01094, fused in sarcoma (FUS) and high mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) were analyzed by RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pull-down assays. RESULTS LINC01094 and EMT-related proteins were markedly upregulated in nasal polyp tissues of CRSwNP. LINC01094 knockdown inhibited IL-13-induced hNEC EMT and pyroptosis. LINC01094 promoted HMGB1 expression in CRSwNP by binding with FUS. HMGB1 promoted Snail nuclear import in GSK-B phosphorylation-dependent manner. CONCLUSION LINC01094 facilitated hNEC EMT and pyroptosis in CRSwNP by activating the HMGB1/GSK-B Snail axis, which suggested that LINC01094 might serve as a biomarker and therapeutic target in CRSwNP.
