Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy and quality of life between uncut Roux-en-Y and Billroth II with Braun anastomosis in laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer patients. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed. Inclusion criteria: (1) 18 to 75 years old; (2) gastric cancer proved by preoperative gastroscopy, CT and pathological results and tumor was suitable for D2 radical distal gastrectomy; (3) postoperative pathological diagnosis stage was T1-4aN0-3M0 (according to the AJCC-7th TNM tumor stage), and the margin was negative; (4) Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) physical status score <2 points, and American Association of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade 1 to 3; (5) no mental illness; (6) able to answer questionnaires independently; (7) patients agreed to undergo laparoscopic distal gastrectomy and signed an informed consent. Exclusion criteria: (1) patients with severe chronic diseases and American Association of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade >3; (2) patients with other malignant tumors; (3) patients suffered from serious mental diseases; (4) patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy or immunotherapy. According to the above criteria, clinical data of 200 patients who underwent laparoscopic distal gastrectomy at the Department of General Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University from January 2016 to December 2019 were collected. Of the 200 patients, 108 underwent uncut Roux-en-Y anastomosis and 92 underwent Billroth II with Braun anastomosis. The general data, intraoperative and postoperative conditions, complications, and endoscopic evaluation 1 year after the surgery were compared. Besides, the quality of life of two groups was also compared using the Chinese version of the European Organization For Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) quality of life questionnaire-Core 30 (QLQ-C30) and quality of life questionnaire-stomach 22 (QLQ-STO22). Results: There were no significant differences in baseline data between the two groups (all P>0.05). All the 200 patients successfully underwent laparoscopic distal gastrectomy without intraoperative complications, conversion to open surgery or perioperative death. There were no significant differences between two groups in operative time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications, time to flatus, time to removal of gastric tube, time to liquid diet, time to removal of drainage tube or length of postoperative hospital stay (all P>0.05). Endoscopic evaluation was conducted 1 year after surgery. Compared to Billroth II with Braun group, the uncut Roux-en-Y group had a significantly lower incidences of gastric stasis [19.8% (17/86) vs. 37.0% (27/73), χ(2)=11.199, P=0.024], gastritis [11.6% (10/86) vs. 34.2% (25/73), χ(2)=20.892, P<0.001] and bile reflux [1.2% (1/86) vs. 28.8% (21/73), χ(2)=25.237, P<0.001], and the differences were statistically significant. The EORTC questionnaire was performed 1 year after surgery, there were no significant differences in the scores of QLQ-C30 scale between the two groups (all P>0.05), while the scores of QLQ-STO22 showed that, compared to the Billroth II with Braun group, the uncut Roux-en-Y group had a lower pain score (median: 8.3 vs. 16.7, Z=-2.342, P=0.019) and reflux score (median: 0 vs 5.6, Z=-2.284, P=0.022), and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05), indicating milder symptoms. Conclusion: The uncut Roux-en-Y anastomosis is safe and reliable in laparoscopic distal gastrectomy, which can reduce the incidences of gastric stasis, gastritis and bile reflux, and improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.

Abstract
The evaluation methods of immune persistence include direct evaluation, indirect evaluation, model prediction, and meta-analysis and so on. Direct evaluation is the gold standard for evaluating the immune persistence of vaccines by quantifying the protective effect of vaccines on the onset and (or) infection of preventable diseases. Indirect evaluation of immune persistence by immunological surrogate indicators is more widely used in practice. In addition, mathematical models and meta-analysis can also be used to evaluate the immune persistence of vaccines. It is of great significance to select the appropriate evaluation method to analyze the immune persistence of the vaccine according to the specific situation.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between nutritional status and depression of centenarians in Hainan Province. Methods: A total of 1 002 elderly people in Hainan Province who were 100 years of age or older on June 1, 2014 were included in the study. The basic condition questionnaire, Mini Nutritional Assessment Short-Form (MNA-SF), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living-Lawton scale (Lawton-IADL) and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) were used to collect the subjects' demographic characteristics, disease history, nutritional status, functional status of daily activities, and depression, respectively. The restricted cubic spline fitting logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between the scores of MNA-SF and depression. The multivariable logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and depression in the total population and different subgroups of daily activity function. Results: The M (Q1, Q3) of subjects' age was 102 (101, 104) years old, among which 82.0% (822) were women. The prevalence of malnutrition, impaired daily activities, and depression was 20.8% (208 cases), 64.7% (648 cases) and 28.5%(286 cases), respectively. Restricted cubic spline fitting logistic regression model showed a linear association between the scores of the MNA-SF and depression (P=0.251). The higher the MNA-SF score was, the lower the risk of depression was in centenarians. Multivariable logistic regression model analysis showed that after adjusting for sex, education level, diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, visual function, hearing function, and functional status of daily activities, malnutrition was positively associated with the development of depression in the total population and the subgroup with impaired daily activities [OR (95%CI) was 1.50 (1.07-2.11) and 1.56 (1.09-2.24), respectively], but not in the subgroup with good daily activities [OR (95%CI): 0.77 (0.21-2.80)]. Conclusion: Malnutrition is positively associated with depression, especially in the centenarians with impaired daily activities.

Abstract
The gene polymorphisms of ABCB1, EPHX1, and SCN1A were found to influence carbamazepine (CBZ) metabolism and resistance in epilepsy patients, but the relevance remains controversial. To reveal the relationships among the gene polymorphisms of ABCB1, EPHX1, SCN1A and the metabolism and resistance of CBZ, the databases of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Science and Technique Journals, China Biology medicine disc and Wan Fang were retrieved for suitable studies up to April 2021. 18 studies containing 3293 epilepsy patients were included. The result revealed the gene polymorphism of ABCB1 c.3435C > T is significantly associated with altered concentration-dose ratios of CBZ (CDRCBZ) (CC vs. CT, OR = 0.25 (95% CI: 0.08-0.42), P = 0.004), and EPHX c.416A > G gene polymorphism may also significantly adjusted the concentration-dose ratios of carbamazepine-10, 11-trans dihydrodiol (CDRCBZD) (AA vs. GG, OR = 0.48 (95% CI: 0.01-0.96), P = 0.045; AG vs. GG, OR = 0.68 (95% CI: 0.16-1.20), P = 0.010, respectively) and the ratio of CBZD:carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide (CBZE) (CDRCBZD:CDRCBZE) (AG vs GG, OR = 0.83 (95% CI: 0.31-1.36), P = 0.002). Furthermore, ABCB1 c.3435C > T polymorphism was also observed to be significantly influenced CBZ resistance (CC vs TT, OR = 1.78 (95% CI: 1.17-2.72), P = 0.008; CT vs TT, OR = 1.60 (95% CI: 1.12-2.30), P = 0.01; CC + CT vs TT, OR = 1.61 (95% CI: 1.15-2.26), P = 0.006, respectively). Therefore, CBZ metabolism and resistance in patients with epilepsy may be adjusted by the gene polymorphisms of ABCB1 c.3435C > T and EPHX1 c.416A > G which provides the further scientific basis for clinical individualized therapy of epilepsy. However, larger sample size studies are still needed to provide further conclusive evidence.

Abstract
Real world study(RWS) refers to the process of collecting real world data related to the health of research subjects in the real world environment for pre-set clinical problems and obtaining the status of drug use and potential benefits/risks through analysis. The data are derived from the hospital information system(HIS), medical insurance system, disease registration system, adverse drug reaction monitoring system, etc. Human use experience of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is a new concept put forward by experts after summarizing the problems existing in clinical trials of new TCM drugs. The data come partially from the real world, and more importantly, such key elements as the formulated prescriptions of new TCM drugs, principles and methods, and clinical applications should be covered. RWS is mainly used for adverse drug reaction monitoring after marketing, benefit evaluation of listed drugs, decision-making of medical treatment and medical insurance, as well as supervision and approval of special medical devices and special drugs. It is complementary to randomized controlled clinical trials. Human use experience is suitable for the research and development of Chinese medicinal compound preparations and the expansion of functions and indications. There are no special provisions for clinical indications and target population. There exists a sequential relationship between the human use experience and clinical trials. Specifi-cally, the summarization of human use experience provides good support for the design and implementation of clinical trials, which is an important segment in the research and development of new TCM drugs. The correlation between real-world data and research results and their reliability should be ensured in RWS, and the unreality should be avoided. The key to summarizing the human use experience is to identify the clinical orientation, target population, course of treatment, usage and dosage of new TCM drugs, and it should be noted that human use experience does not only mean clinical experience. Experimental clinical trial(PCT), a type of study in the real world, has been commonly employed for the summary of human use experience. RWS and human use experience are different research designs targeting different clinical questions in the research and development of new TCM drugs, which can be flexibly selected depending on the actual situation.

Abstract
BACKGROUNDS Dehydroevodiamine (DHE) is a quinazoline alkaloid isolated from a Chinese herbal medicine, named Euodiae Fructus (Wu-Zhu-Yu in Chinese). This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and potential mechanism of DHE on N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG)-induced chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) based on integrated approaches. METHODS Therapeutic effects of DHE on serum biochemical indices and histopathology of gastric tissue in MNNG-induced CAG rats were analyzed. MNNG-induced GES-1 human gastric epithelial cell injury model was established. Cell viability and proliferation was quantified by a cell counting kit-8 assay. Cell morphology and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) were detected by a high content screening (HCS) assay. Cell migration and invasion were detected by a Transwell chamber. Moreover, UHPLC-Q-TOF/MS was performed to investigate the potential metabolites and signaling pathway affecting the protective effects of DHE on MNNG-induced cell migration and invasion of GES-1. Furthermore, in view of the key role of angiogenesis in the transformation of inflammation and cancer, this study explored relative mRNA and protein expression levels of HIF-1α-mediated VEGF pathway in vivo and in vitro by RT-PCR and Western Blotting, respectively. RESULTS The results showed that the therapeutic effects of DHE on CAG rats were presented in down-regulation serum biochemical indices and alleviating histological damage of gastric tissue. Besides, DHE has an effect on increasing cell proliferation of GES-1 cells, ameliorating MNNG-induced gastric epithelial cell damage and mitochondrial dysfunction. In addition, DHE could inhibit MNNG induced migration and invasion of GES-1 cells. Cell metabolomics analyses showed that the protective effect of DHE on GES-1 cells is mainly associated with the regulation of inflammation metabolites and energy metabolism related pathways. It was found that DHE has a regulating effect on tumor angiogenesis and can inhibit the relative gene and protein expression of HIF-1α-mediated VEGF signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS The present work highlighted the role of DHE ameliorated gastric injury in MNNG-induced CAG rats in vivo and GES-1 cell migration in vitro by inhibiting HIF-1α/VEGF angiogenesis pathway. These results suggest that DHE may be the effective components of Euodiae Fructus, which provides a new agent for the treatment of CAG.

Abstract
In order to explore the mechanism of gefitinib-acquired resistance in lung cancer, a new biomarker has been developed for early clinical diagnosis and intervention; human NSCLC (Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer) cell lines H292 (denoted as H292S) and PC9 (denoted as PC9S) were used to establish gefitinibresistant NSCLC cell lines H292 and PC9 models. CCK-8 (Cell Counting Kit-8) method was used to test the drug resistance of the cells. circRNAs (circular RNAs) that were differentially expressed before and after resistance were screened by RNA sequencing technology. The effects of circSETD3 overexpression and interference on the sensitivity of gefitinib was observed to analyze the nuclear localization of circSETD3 and verify the interaction between circSETD3-miR-520h-ABCG2. The results showed that the most significant change in differential expression of human NSCLC cell lines before and after drug resistance was hsa_circ_0000567, that is, circSETD3, which is mainly present in the cytoplasm. In H292S and PC9S, compared with the negative control group, the cell proliferation ability of the overexpression group was significantly increased, and the apoptosis ability was significantly decreased. In H292R and PC9R, compared with the negative control group, the proliferation ability of the interference group was significantly decreased, and the apoptosis ability was significantly increased. Overexpression of circSETD3 to H292S and PC9S, the expression of ABCG2 increased significantly. Also, the expression of ABCG2 decreased significantly after transfection with miR-520h mimics. H292R and PC9R interfered with circSETD3, the expression of ABCG2 decreased significantly. Moreover, the expression of ABCG2 increased significantly after transfection with miR-520h inhibitor. In conclusion, circSETD3 can be used as a novel biomarker for lung cancer. It relieves miR-520h degradation of the transporter ABCG2 by down-regulating the miR-520h expression, causing gefitinib to be pumped out of the cell.

Abstract
With the advances in biomedical technologies, natural products have attracted substantial public attention in the area of drug discovery. Flavonoids are a class of active natural products with a wide range of pharmacological effects that are used for the treatment of several diseases, in particular chronic metabolic diseases. Diabetic nephropathy is a complication of diabetes with a particularly complicated pathological mechanism that affects at least 30% of diabetic patients and represents a great burden on public health. A large number of studies have shown that flavonoids can alleviate diabetic nephropathy. This review systematically summarizes the use of common flavonoids for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. We found that flavonoids play a therapeutic role in diabetic nephropathy mainly by regulating oxidative stress and inflammation. Nrf-2/GSH, ROS production, HO-1, TGF-β1 and AGEs/RAGE are involved in the process of oxidative stress regulation. Quercetin, apigenin, baicalin, luteolin, hesperidin, genistein, proanthocyanidin and eriodictyol were found to be capable of alleviating oxidative stress related to the aforementioned factors. Regarding inflammatory responses, IL-1, IL-6β, TNF-α, SIRT1, NF-κB, and TGF-β1/smad are thought to be essential. Quercetin, kaempferol, myricetin, rutin, genistein, proanthocyanidin and eriodictyol were confirmed to influence the above targets. As a result, flavonoids promote podocyte autophagy and inhibit the overactivity of RAAS by suppressing the upstream oxidative stress and inflammatory pathways, ultimately alleviating DN. The above results indicate that flavonoids are promising drugs for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. However, due to deficiencies in the effect of flavonoids on metabolic processes and their lack of structural stability in the body, further research is required to address these issues. ![]()

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of intestinal protozoan infections among rural children in Henan Province. METHODS A total of 104 survey sites were sampled from 35 counties (cities) in Henan Province using the stratified cluster sampling method to investigate the prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections among rural children from 2014 to 2015. The trophozoites and cysts of intestinal protozoa were identified using the iodine staining method and the physiological saline direct smear method (one detection for one stool sample). The prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections was compared among rural children with different characteristics, and the factors affecting intestinal protozoan infections among rural children were identified. RESULTS The overall prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections was 0.60% (40/6 771) among rural children in Henan Province from 2014 to 2015. There were 7 species of intestinal protozoa identified, and there was no species-specific prevalence (χ2 = 37.732, P = 0.000). No significant differences were found in prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections among rural children in terms of gender (χ2 = 1.793, P = 0.181), age (χ2 = 1.443, P = 0.486), occupation (χ2 = 0.219, P = 0.896) or ecological region (χ2 = 1.700, P = 0.637). In addition, terrain (χ2 = 2.311, P = 0.510), economic level (χ2 = 4.322, P = 0.229), source of drinking water (χ2 = 0.731, P = 0.393), eating raw vegetables (χ2 = 1.134, P = 0.287) and deworming (χ2 = 1.089, P = 0.297) had no remarkable effects on the prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections among rural children in Henan Province; however, the prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections varied significantly among rural children living in regions with different coverage of non-harmless toilets (χ2 = 10.050, P = 0.018). CONCLUSIONS The prevalence of intestinal protozoan infections is low among rural children in Henan Province.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Guidelines for doctors managing osteoporosis in the Asia-Pacific region vary widely. We compared 18 guidelines for similarities and differences in five key areas. We then used a structured consensus process to develop clinical standards of care for the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and for improving the quality of care. PURPOSE Minimum clinical standards for assessment and management of osteoporosis are needed in the Asia-Pacific (AP) region to inform clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and to improve osteoporosis care. We present the framework of these clinical standards and describe its development. METHODS We conducted a structured comparative analysis of existing CPGs in the AP region using a "5IQ" model (identification, investigation, information, intervention, integration, and quality). One-hundred data elements were extracted from each guideline. We then employed a four-round Delphi consensus process to structure the framework, identify key components of guidance, and develop clinical care standards. RESULTS Eighteen guidelines were included. The 5IQ analysis demonstrated marked heterogeneity, notably in guidance on risk factors, the use of biochemical markers, self-care information for patients, indications for osteoporosis treatment, use of fracture risk assessment tools, and protocols for monitoring treatment. There was minimal guidance on long-term management plans or on strategies and systems for clinical quality improvement. Twenty-nine APCO members participated in the Delphi process, resulting in consensus on 16 clinical standards, with levels of attainment defined for those on identification and investigation of fragility fractures, vertebral fracture assessment, and inclusion of quality metrics in guidelines. CONCLUSION The 5IQ analysis confirmed previous anecdotal observations of marked heterogeneity of osteoporosis clinical guidelines in the AP region. The Framework provides practical, clear, and feasible recommendations for osteoporosis care and can be adapted for use in other such vastly diverse regions. Implementation of the standards is expected to significantly lessen the global burden of osteoporosis.

Abstract
Since "the implementation of good clinical practice"(GCP), especially after 2015, the overall quality of new drug cli-nical trials in China has made significant progress, but compared with developed countries, there are still some obvious quality problems in clinical trials in China. Clinical trials of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine are an important part of clinical trials of new drugs in China. In addition to some common problems in all clinical trials, there are also some special quality problems. In terms of security data, such as the collection of human safety data is not standardized, the management and judgment of unexpected serious adverse reactions(SUSAR) were not professional and timely, the relationship between adverse events and trial drug was not fully judged by investigator, In terms of effective data, such as primary efficacy outcome of the scale cannot be traced, TCM syndrome data cannot meet the requirements of "source data" in the revised GCP and the quality of traditional Chinese medicine placebo is not high, in terms of overall quality system construction, the sponsors and research institutions have not established a quality assurance system that conforms to the characteristics of new drug research of traditional Chinese medicine, etc. The quality of clinical trials of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine is based on the current GCP and ICH-GCP in China, we should also consider the characteristics of clinical trials of new traditional Chinese medicine drugs, and formulate targeted quality control measures according to the characteristics of these new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine, to improve the overall quality of clinical trials of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine in China, which has important strategic significance for promoting the research and development of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine in China.

Abstract
At present, the issues regarding multi-center clinical trials of new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) remain: the lack of agreement on the content and scope of the ethical review among the ethics committee members of the center and the participating units results in repeated review, which leads to a time-consuming ethical review process. Moreover, the review capabilities of the ethics committees of various research centers are uneven, which is not necessarily beneficial to the protection of subjects' rights and safety. In view of the existing problems, to improve the efficiency of ethical review of multi-center clinical trials of new drugs of TCM and avoid repeated reviews, the TCM Clinical Evaluation Professional Committee of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association organized experts to formulate the "Consensus on collaborative ethical review of multi-center clinical trials of new drugs of TCM(version 1.0)"(hereinafter referred to as "Consensus"). The "Consensus" is formulated in accordance with the requirements of relevant documents such as but not limited to "the opinions on deepening the reform of the evaluation and approval system to encourage the innovation of pharmaceutical medical devices", "the regulations of ethical review of biomedical research involving human subjects". The "Consensus" covers the scope of application, formulation principles, conditions for the ethics committee of the center, sharing of ethical review resources, scope and procedure of collaborative review, rights and obligations, etc. The aims of the "Consensus" is to preliminarily explore and establish a scientific and operable ethical review procedure. Additionally, on the basis of fully protecting the rights and interests of the subjects, a collaborative ethical review agreement needs to be signed to clarify the ethical review responsibilities of all parties, to avoid repeated review, and to improve the efficiency and quality of ethical review in multi-center clinical trials of new drugs of TCM.

Abstract
Collecting and summarizing human use experience(HUE) data, forming high-quality data and evidences that can be used for evaluation are the key links of HUE research on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). The collection, collation and summary of human experience data were discussed in this paper. It is pointed out that the collection of HUE should be focus on the source of prescription of new traditional Chinese medicines, and be summarized based on dialectical thinking, experience in medication, characte-ristics of prescription and clinical application. The collected contents include prescription, process, clinical location and applicable population, efficacy data and safety data, etc. The methods include interview, clinical data summary and data mining. When the data formed based on HUE information is used as drug registration information, it is necessary to ensure that the data source is legal and compliant, and the ownership of intellectual property is clear.Data sources should meet the requirements of medical ethics. To avoid conflict of interest, data analysis should be conducted by an independent third party. It is necessary to develop the quality control measures of HUE data to ensure the data traceability, integrity, consistency and accuracy, and avoid data bias. The data of HUE should include the key data such as accurate clinical location and applicable population, recognized clinical efficacy and safety. After the formation of HUE, the statistical analysis plan of empirical data of human use should be formulated. Through strict data processing, statistical analysis and clinical interpretation, HUE can be produced for evaluation.

Abstract
Ectomycorrhizal (EM) fungi play vital roles in ensuring host plants’ health, plant diversity, and the functionality of the ecosystem. However, EM fungal diversity, community composition, and underlying assembly processes in Inner Mongolia, China, where forests are typically semiarid and cold-temperate zones, attract less attention. In this study, we investigated EM fungal communities from 63 root samples of five common pine plants in Inner Mongolia across 1,900 km using Illumina Miseq sequencing of the fungal internal transcribed spacer 2 region. We evaluated the impact of host plant phylogeny, soil, climatic, and spatial variables on EM fungal diversity and community turnover. Deterministic vs. stochastic processes for EM fungal community assembly were quantified using β-nearest taxon index scores. In total, we identified 288 EM fungal operational taxonomic units (OTUs) belonging to 31 lineages, of which the most abundant lineages were Tomentella–Thelephora, Wilcoxina, Tricholoma, and Suillus–Rhizopogon. Variations in EM fungal OTU richness and community composition were significantly predicted by host phylogeny, soil (total nitrogen, phosphorus, nitrogen–phosphorus ratio, and magnesium), climate, and spatial distance, with the host plant being the most important factor. β-nearest taxon index demonstrated that both deterministic and stochastic processes jointly determined the community assembly of EM fungi, with the predominance of stochastic processes. At the Saihanwula site selected for preference analysis, all plant species (100%) presented significant preferences for EM fungi, 54% of abundant EM fungal OTUs showed significant preferences for host plants, and 26% of pairs of plant species and abundant fungal OTUs exhibited remarkably strong preferences. Overall, we inferred that the high diversity and distinctive community composition of EM fungi associated with natural pine species in Inner Mongolia and the stochastic processes prevailed in determining the community assembly of EM fungi. Our study shed light on the diversity and community assembly of EM fungi associated with common pine species in semiarid and cold temperate forests in Inner Mongolia, China, for the first time and provided a better understanding of the ecological processes underlying the community assembly of mutualistic fungi.

Abstract
Ephedra monosperma is an important medicinal plant of Ephedra (Ephedraceae). The complete chloroplast genome of E. monosperma was assembled from Illumina pair-end sequence reads. The whole chloroplast (cp) genome is 109,548 bp in length and presents a quadripartite structure consisting of two copies of inverted repeat (IR) regions (20,398) separated by a large single copy (LSC) region (60,674 bp) and a small single copy (SSC) region (8078 bp). The cp genome of E. monosperma encodes a total of 118 genes, including 73 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC content of E. monosperma cp genome is 36.6%. A maximum likelihood (ML) phylogenetic analysis revealed that E. monosperma was close to Ephedra equisetina. The ML tree also showed Ephedraceae appeared more closely related to Gnetaceae than to the other families in Gymnospermae.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate basic characteristics of diabetes prevalence and associated factors in centenarians in Hainan province of China. Methods: All the subjects were from China Hainan Centenarian Cohort Study. A total of 1 002 centenarians were included in the final analysis, who were divided into three groups: diabetes group, impaired fasting glucose (IFG) group, and normal glucose group according to the guideline. Results: The average age of centenarians was (102.77±2.55) years, and the proportion of females was 82.0%. There were 95 centenarians who suffered from diabetes, and the prevalence rate was 9.5%. There were 81 centenarians who had IFG, and the prevalence rate was 8.1%. The mean fasting plasma glucose (FPG) level of centenarians was (5.12±1.44) mmol/L, while 43.5% of centenarians had FPG levels ranging from 4.00 to 5.00 mmol/L and 22.1% of centenarians had the FPG levels ranging from 5.00 to 6.00 mmol/L. Increased triglyceride level and abdominal obesity might be associated with the risk for diabetes. Conclusion: The glycometabolism in centenarians in Hainan was better than that in other age groups, and no gender specific difference was observed.
