Abstract
Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common type of cancer with a poor prognosis, and development of an effective diagnostic method is urgently needed. Exosomal lncRNAs, a class of transcripts longer than 200 nucleotides packaged into exosomes, have been defined as an ideal diagnostic biomarker for cancer. However, little is known about the clinical utility of exosomal lncRNAs in NSCLC. Here, we aimed to identify exosomal lncRNAs as promising biomarkers for NSCLC diagnosis. First, serum exosomes from NSCLC patients were successfully isolated by a polymer precipitation kit and then identified by TEM, NTA and western blot analysis. A total of nine candidate lncRNAs were detected by qRT-PCR in a training set. The two exosomal lncRNA TBILA and AGAP2-AS1 were screened out for the higher levels in NSCLC patients than that of healthy controls in a validation set. And there was a significant positive correlation between these exosomal lncRNAs levels and tumor size, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage. Additionally, we validated that these exosomal lncRNAs were stable in serum. Next, we evaluated the diagnostic efficiency of exosomal lncRNAs in NSCLC patients by ROC curve analysis. The data showed that individual TBILA or AGAP2-AS1 exhibited better diagnostic efficiency in NSCLC patients with different tumor pathologic subtypes and early stage, whereas the combination of lncRNAs did not provide better results than individual lncRNAs. Notably, the combination of two exosomal lncRNAs and the serum tumor biomarker Cyfra21-1 widely used in clinical practices further improved the diagnostic accuracy for NSCLC patients. This study suggests that exosomal lncRNA TBILA and AGAP2-AS1 may be promising biomarkers for diagnosis of NSCLC.

Abstract
Background Morphine is a common analgesic often used to manage chronic pain, especially for patients with pain due to malignancies. Since UGT2B7 plays an important role in the metabolism of morphine, UGT2B7 gene mutation may influence the efficacy of morphine in patients with cancer being treated by this medication. Aims The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the polymorphisms of UGT2B7 and the efficacy of morphine treatment on cancer pain among the Chinese Han population. Materials and Methods A total of 120 patients with cancer pain were enrolled in this study. Morphine was administrated through patient-controlled analgesia infusion pump, and the visual analog score (VAS) was used for pain assessment at 0.5, 4, 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72-h post morphine treatment, respectively. The plasma concentration of morphine and genetic polymorphism of UGT2B7 C802T and G221T was analyzed, respectively. Results The frequencies of UGT2B7 C802T were CC: 13.33%, CT: 45% and TT: 41.67%, and the frequencies of UGT2B7 G221T were GG: 76.67%, GT: 22.5% and TT: 0.83%. Moreover, the VAS score of patients with either C802T CT or TT was significantly higher than that in patients with C802T CC. However, no difference of VAS scores was observed between patients carrying G221T GG and patients carrying G221T GT. The plasma concentration of morphine for patients with the C802T CC was significantly lower than that in patients carrying C802T CT or TT, while there was no significant difference in the level of morphine between patients with G221T GG and G221T GT. Conclusion The polymorphism of UGT2B7 C802T, but not UGT2B7 G221T, has been associated with the efficacy of morphine treatment on cancer pain among Chinese Han population.

Abstract
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with mutated nucleophosmin (NPM1) is acknowledged as a distinct leukemia entity in the 2016 updated World Health Organization (WHO) classification. NPM1-mutated AML patients are correlated with higher extramedullary involvement. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is one of the key steps which cause distant metastasis in tumor. However, whether EMT-related programs contribute to cell invasion in NPM1-mutated AML remains unclear. In this study, we identified the EMT-related gene versican (VCAN) in NPM1-mutated AML across three patient datasets. Further experiments validated the elevated VCAN expression in NPM1-mutated AML primary blasts and OCI-AML3 cells with NPM1 mutation. Mechanistic studies revealed that increased VCAN expression was at least partially regulated by NPM1 mutant via TGF-β/cPML/Smad signalling. Functional evaluations showed that silencing VCAN by shRNA significantly suppressed cell migration and invasion capacity, whereas increased VCAN by overexpressing NPM1-mA enhanced migration and invasion ability of leukemia cells. Finally, we found that high expression of VCAN was associated with poor prognosis in AML patients. These findings provide insights into the involvement of EMT-related gene VCAN in the pathogenesis of NPM1-mutated leukemia, which suggests that VCAN is an attractive target for novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in NPM1-mutated AML.

Abstract
AIMS To study the antimicrobial agents of the Bacillus velezensis strain HC6 and assess the application potential of B. velezensis HC6 in maize. METHODS AND RESULTS We applied a dual culture technique to test the antimicrobial activity of B. velezensis HC6 against bacteria and fungi of common contaminated crops. Bacillus velezensis HC6 showed antagonistic action on pathogenic fungi, including Aspergillus and Fusarium, as well as pathogenic bacteria (especially Listeria monocytogenes). When applied in maize, B. velezensis HC6 could also inhibit the growth of multiple pathogenic fungi and reduce their production of aflatoxin and ochratoxin. Three kinds of antimicrobial lipopeptides, including iturin, fengycin and surfactin were identified in B. velezensis HC6 culture supernatant by high-performance liquid chromatography and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Iturin and fengycin showed obvious antimicrobial activity to the tested fungal strains. CONCLUSIONS Bacillus velezensis HC6 produces three kinds of lipopeptides which showed antimicrobial activity against several common pathogenic fungi and bacteria. Bacillus velezensis HC6 is potential to be biocontrol bacteria in maize. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY Bacillus velezensis HC6 shows obvious antimicrobial activity to important crops pathogenic fungi which usually produce mycotoxins that are harmful to animal and human health. We demonstrate that three different types of lipopeptides produced by B. velezensis contributed to the antimicrobial activity. Bacillus velezensis HC6 has the potential to be effective biocontrol agent in crops.

Abstract
Head and neck cancers comprise a variety of tumours depending on the sub-site, for which target volumes and the prescribed doses need to be individualized according to each patient's history and presentation. This article aims at describing the main factors involved in decision-making regarding dose and volume, as well as ongoing research. Contouring and treatment guidelines, use of altered fractionation, major prognostic factors, the role of Human papillomavirus and of functional imaging will be presented and discussed.

Abstract
Objective: To study the clinical features and the diagnosis and treatment of endogenous Klebsiella pneumoniae endophthalmitis associated with Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia. Methods: Three cases of endogenous Klebsiella pneumoniae endophthalmitis associated with Klebsiella pneumoniae with microbiological evidence were studied. The related literatures published from January 2008 to June 2018 were reviewed with "pneumonia" , "endogenous endophthalmitis" and "Klebsiella pneumoniae" as the keywords in CNKI, Wanfang, PubMed and Web of Science databases. Results: The 3 patients, all males, aged 54 years, 82 years and 48 years respectively. They all had a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Endophthalmitis occurred in one eye in all of them, and the patients had eye symptoms including eye pain, progressive loss of vision, periorbital area inflammation, conjunctivitis, weakening or disappearance of pupil light reflex, corneal edema and anterior chamber effusion. All of 3 cases had multiple patchy pulmonary lesions, and Klebsiella pneumoniae was proven to be the pathogen by blood culture. Two cases had pulmonary abscess and liver abscess, and one of them had brain abscess. A total of 28 literatures with 81 cases of endogenous Klebsiella pneumoniae endophthalmitis associated with Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia were retrieved from CNKI, WanFang, PubMed and Web of Science database. Conclusions: Klebsiella pneumoniae was one of the most common pathogens of pneumonia and endogenous endophthalmitis, which would seriously damage the lung and the eye. The early clinical features were not specific. Misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis might cause serious consequences. Eye pain and visual disturbance symptoms, ophthalmic examination, chest imaging, blood and aqueous humor etiology were of great value in the diagnosis of this disease.

Abstract
A green and innovative method, manothermosonication (MTS), for proteins extraction from dry Arthrospira platensis cyanobacteria assisted by ultrasound was designed in this work. Manothermosonication (probe, 20 kHz) was compared to a conventional process performed in the same conditions without ultrasounds. The extraction was carried out with a continuous flow rate at 15 mL/hour. Extraction parameters were optimized using a central composite design. Moreover, mathematic modelling and microscopic investigations were realized to allow a better understanding of ultrasound physical and structural effects on spirulina filaments and mass transfer phenomena over time. Crude extract and sections stained with toluidine blue were analyzed with optical and scanning electron microscopies. According to experimental results, MTS promoted mass transfer (high effective diffusivity, De) and enabled to get 229% more proteins (28.42 ± 1.15 g/100 g DW) than conventional process without ultrasound (8.63 ± 1.15 g/100 g DW). With 28.42 g of proteins per 100 g of dry spirulina biomass in the extract, a protein recovery rate of 50% was achieved in 6 effective minutes with a continuous MTS process. Microscopic observations showed that acoustic cavitation impacted spirulina filaments by different mechanisms such as fragmentation, sonoporation, detexturation. These various phenomena make extraction, release and solubilization of spirulina bioactive compounds easier.

Abstract
Previous meta-analyses reported that the variant T allele of Axin2 rs2240308 is associated with a decreased cancer risk. However, more recent findings have been inconsistent. Therefore, we carried out an updated meta-analysis to examine whether this polymorphism is still associated with a decreased cancer risk. Twelve articles, including 14 case-control studies (2,215 cases and 2,481 controls), were included in our study. Surprisingly, different from previous meta-analyses, no significant association between Axin2 rs2240308 polymorphism and cancer risk was observed (dominant model: OR=0.85; 95% CI=0.68-1.06). In further stratified analyses, rs2240308 was significantly associated with a decreased cancer risk only in Asians (dominant model: OR=0.76; 95% CI=0.66-0.88), while for Caucasians the variant showed no significant association with cancer risk (dominant model: OR=1.09; 95% CI=0.67-1.76). Moreover, the rs2240308 variant exhibited a significant association with a decreased risk of lung cancer and prostate cancer. These findings provided new evidence that differed from previous meta-analyses; Axin2 rs2240308 may not modify general cancer susceptibility. Similar with previous meta-analyses, our analysis indicated that Axin2 rs2240308 may modify cancer susceptibility in an ethnicity- and/or type-specific manner. These findings indicate that further replication studies with large sample sizes are warranted to re-evaluate the relationship between Axin2 rs2240308 and cancer risk, especially in Caucasians.

Abstract
Background Concomitant chemotherapy (CT)-radiotherapy (RT) is a standard of care in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and a role for induction CT is not established. Methods Patients with locally advanced NPC, WHO type 2 or 3, were randomized to induction TPF plus concomitant cisplatin-RT or concomitant cisplatin-RT alone. The TPF regimen consisted of three cycles of Docetaxel 75 mg/m2 day 1; cisplatin 75 mg/m2 day 1; 5FU 750 mg/m2/day days 1-5. RT consisted of 70 Gy in 7 weeks plus concomitant cisplatin 40 mg/m2 weekly. Results A total of 83 patients were included in the study. Demographics and tumour characteristics were well balanced between both arms. Most of the patients (95%) in the TPF arm received three cycles of induction CT. The rate of grade 3-4 toxicity and the compliance (NCI-CTCAE v3) during cisplatin-RT were not different between both arms. With a median follow-up of 43.1 months, the 3-year PFS rate was 73.9% in the TPF arm versus 57.2% in the reference arm [hazard ratio (HR) = 0.44; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.20-0.97, P = 0.042]. Similarly the 3 years overall survival rate was 86.3% in the TPF arm versus 68.9% in the reference arm (HR = 0.40; 95% CI: 0.15-1.04, P = 0.05). Conclusion In conclusion, several important aspects can be emphasized: the compliance to induction TPF was good and TPF did not compromise the tolerance of the concomitant RT-cisplatin phase. The improved PFS and overall survival rates needs to be confirmed by further trials.

Abstract
We present the first measurements of absolute branching fractions of Ξ_{c}^{0} decays into Ξ^{-}π^{+}, ΛK^{-}π^{+}, and pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+} final states. The measurements are made using a dataset comprising (772±11)×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We first measure the absolute branching fraction for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} using a missing-mass technique; the result is B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})=(9.51±2.10±0.88)×10^{-4}. We subsequently measure the product branching fractions B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}), B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+}), and B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+}) with improved precision. Dividing these product branching fractions by the result for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} yields the following branching fractions: B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+})=(1.80±0.50±0.14)%, B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+})=(1.17±0.37±0.09)%, and B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+})=(0.58±0.23±0.05)%. For the above branching fractions, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Our result for B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}) can be combined with Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions measured relative to Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} to yield other absolute Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions.

Abstract
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with mutated nucleophosmin (NPM1) has been defined as a distinct leukemia entity in the 2016 updated WHO classification of myeloid neoplasm. Our previous report showed that autophagic activity was elevated in NPM1-mutated AML, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. Mount of study provides evidence that glycometabolic enzymes are implicated in the autophagic process. Pyruvate kinase isoenzyme M2 (PKM2), a key glycolytic enzyme, has been recently reported as a tumor supporter in leukemia. However, little is known about the roles of PKM2 in autophagic activity in NPM1-mutated AML. In this study, PKM2 highly expressed in NPM1-mutated AML, and partially, high levels of PKM2 were upregulated by PTBP1. Further experiments demonstrated that PKM2 mediated autophagic activation and increased the phosphorylation of key autophagy protein Beclin-1. Importantly, functional experiments demonstrated that PKM2 contributed to cell survival via autophagic activation. Ultimately, high PKM2 expression was associated with short overall and event-free survival time in NPM1-mutated AML patients. Our findings indicate for the first time that glycolytic enzyme PKM2 mediates autophagic activation and further contributes to cell survival in NPM1-mutated AML, suggesting that PKM2 may serve as a promising target for treatment of NPM1-mutated AML.

Abstract
The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) enables the dissociation of cancer cells from the primary tumor by facilitating tolerance to lack of cell-adhesion, decreasing cellular division and increasing motility of individual cells, which leads to an invasive phenotype that links EMT to metastasis. Furthermore, EMT results in the acquisition of stem-cell markers and an increased ability to initiate tumor growth, supporting the concept that EMT may contribute to the development of a small, persistent sub-population of the tumor called cancer stem cells (CSCs). Cells that have undergone EMT have characteristically suppressed cell cycles, making them resistant to commonly used chemotherapies that target DNA replication or microtubule dynamics, processes essential to replicating cells. Nonspecific treatments can also rely on inducing apoptotic cell death; however, recent debates challenge the efficacy of apoptosis in solid tumors, citing high rates of acquired resistance. Utilizing a compound that induces alternative cell death, namely paraptosis, becomes attractive when these other treatments fail. Relying on an activated gene expression program, paraptosis results in the swelling of the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum and Apaf-1-independent alternative caspase-9 activity. Treating with paraptosis-inducing compounds such as Ophiobolin A (OpA) specifically targets otherwise-insensitive CSC and EMT cells to re-sensitize bulk tumor populations to chemotherapies. We describe EMT as a key driver of enhanced sensitivity to paraptosis-induced cell death following short-term treatment with OpA or other paraptosis-inducing compounds. Further, paraptosis selectively eliminates the CSC sub-population by reducing stem cell activity and highlights the potential of this pathway in breast cancer treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The study aimed to investigate the correlations of insulin resistance and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) with cytokines [insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and interleukin-6 (IL-6)] in the aqueous humor of patients with diabetic cataract. PATIENTS AND METHODS 59 patients with diabetic cataract and 58 patients with simple cataract treated in Jining No. 1 People´s Hospital (Jining, China) from January 2017 to February 2018, were selected randomly. The levels of homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and HbAlc, as well as IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 in the aqueous humor were compared between the two groups. The correlations of HOMA-IR and HbAlc with IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 were analyzed. In control group, the levels of HOMA-IR and HbAlc, as well as IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 in the aqueous humor were significantly lower than those in observation group (p<0.05). RESULTS Compared with the group with HbAlc ≤ 7%, the groups with HbAlc ≥ 9% and 7% <HbAlc< 9% had increased relevant indexes. HbAlc was positively correlated with IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 (r=0.8309, p<0.001; r=0.8968, p<0.001; r=0.8205, p<0.001). HOMA-IR had positive correlations with IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 (r=0.9091, p<0.001; r=0.9605, p<0.001; r=0.8118, p<0.001). IGF-1 was positively related to bFGF and IL-6 (r=0.9475, p<0.001; r=0.9112, p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS For patients with diabetic cataract, HOMA-IR and HbAlc were associated with IGF-1, bFGF and IL-6 in the aqueous humor. The measurement of those indexes can help to judge the disease conditions accurately, having good predictive value.

Abstract
AIM To assess the capacity of a body shape index and body roundness index to identify people with diabetes mellitus and those with prediabetes, and to determine whether a body shape index and/or body roundness index is superior to the traditional overall adiposity index, BMI, in Han Chinese people in Northeast China. METHODS A total of 15 078 participants were enrolled from Jilin province in 2012 using a multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling method. Demographic data were collected, and anthropometric indices and biochemical indices were measured. Receiver-operating characteristic curves were used to compare the validity of each anthropometric index, and the area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve was calculated for each anthropometric index. RESULTS Body roundness index had the highest areas under the receiver-operating curve for prediabetes, diagnosed diabetes and undiagnosed diabetes in both men and women (all P<0.01). The optimum threshold values for body roundness index for prediabetes, undiagnosed diabetes and diagnosed diabetes, respectively, were 2.8, 3.7 and 3.3 in men, and 3.4, 3.8 and 3.6 in women. The cumulative proportions of prediabetes, undiagnosed diabetes and diagnosed diabetes identified by the optimum threshold values of body roundness index were 79.2%, 67.5% and 77.0% (82.3%, 62.5% and 75.3% in men; 74.6%, 74.9% and 78.3% in women), respectively. CONCLUSIONS BMI, a body shape index and body roundness index may identify the presence of diabetes. Among the three anthropometric indices, BMI had the weakest association with diabetes. Body roundness index is an alternative index for assessing diabetes in Han Chinese people in Northeast China.

Abstract
In order to realize the multi-analyte assays for physiological molecules and environmental contaminants, a bi-enzyme biosensor based on horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-catalyzed noradrenalin (NA) polymerization in the presence of H2O2 was fabricated for the first time and utilized in immobilizing HRP and glucose oxidase (GOx) simultaneously. The resultant bi-enzyme modified electrode was demonstrated to be efficient in monitoring multi-analyte (H2O2, Cr(III), glucose, and Cr(VI)). It was shown that the prepared PNA-HRP-GOx/Pt electrode exhibits a sensitivity (S) high up to 628.4 μA mM-1 cm-2 in the linear range (LR) of 0.50 μM ~ 0.42 mM and a S of 208.9 μA mM-1 cm-2 in the LR of 0.42 mM~3.5 mM in glucose sensing, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.08 μM observed; in Cr(VI) sensing a LOD of 0.20 nM and a LR of 0.50 ~ 6.0 nM were obtained. With the addition of polyaniline (PANI), the resultant PNA-HRP-GOx/PANI/Pt electrode potentiostated at - 0.20 V responded linearly to H2O2 concentration in 0.05 ~ 30.2 mM range, with linearly responses to Cr(III) concentration in the LR of 0.01 ~ 3.8 μM. Hence, amperometric biosensors with high S, low LOD and good anti-interference ability for detection of glucose, H2O2 and heavy metal ions (Cr(III) and Cr(VI)) were developed.

Abstract
Using data recorded with the Belle detector, we observe a new excited hyperon, an Ω^{*-} candidate decaying into Ξ^{0}K^{-} and Ξ^{-}K_{S}^{0} with a mass of 2012.4±0.7(stat)±0.6(syst) MeV/c^{2} and a width of Γ=6.4_{-2.0}^{+2.5}(stat)±1.6(syst) MeV. The Ω^{*-} is seen primarily in ϒ(1S),ϒ(2S), and ϒ(3S) decays.

Abstract
Nociceptive stimulus involuntarily interrupts concurrent activities. This interruptive effect is related to the protective function of nociception that is believed to be under stringent evolutionary pressure. To determine whether such interruptive effect is conserved in invertebrate and potentially uncover underlying neural circuits, we examined Drosophila melanogaster. Electric shock (ES) is a commonly used nociceptive stimulus for nociception related research in Drosophila. Here, we showed that background noxious ES dramatically interrupted odor response behaviors in a T-maze, which is termed blocking odor response by electric shock (BOBE). The interruptive effect is not odor specific. ES could interrupt both odor avoidance and odor approach. To identify involved brain areas, we focused on the odor avoidance to 3-OCT. By spatially abolishing neurotransmission with temperature sensitive ShibireTS1 , we found that mushroom bodies (MBs) are necessary for BOBE. Among the 3 major MB Kenyon cell (KCs) subtypes, α/β neurons and γ neurons but not α'/β' neurons are required for normal BOBE. Specifically, abolishing the neurotransmission of either α/β surface (α/βs ), α/β core (α/βc ) or γ dorsal (γd ) neurons alone is sufficient to abrogate BOBE. This pattern of MB subset requirement is distinct from that of aversive olfactory learning, indicating a specialized BOBE pathway. Consistent with this idea, BOBE was not diminished in several associative memory mutants and noxious ES interrupted both innate and learned odor avoidance. Overall, our results suggest that MB α/β and γ neurons are parts of a previously unappreciated central neural circuit that processes the interruptive effect of nociception.

Abstract
Radiation-induced mucositis is a common toxicity, especially in patients with head and neck cancers. Despite recent technological advances in radiation therapy, such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy, radiation-induced mucositis is still causing treatment disruptions, negatively affecting patients' long and short term quality of life, and impacting medical resources use with economic consequences. The objective of this article was to review the latest updates in the management of radiation-induced mucositis, with a focus on pharmaceutical strategies for the prevention or treatment of mucositis. Although numerous studies analysing the prevention and management of oral radiation-induced mucositis have been conducted, there are still few reliable data to guide daily clinical practice. Furthermore, most of the tested drugs have shown no (anti-inflammatory cytokine, growth factors) or limited (palifermin) effect. Therapies for acute oral mucositis are predominantly focused on improving oral hygiene and providing symptoms control. Although low-level laser therapy proved efficient in preventing radiation-induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer, this intervention requires equipment and trained medical staff, and is therefore insufficiently developed in clinical routine. New effective pharmacological agents able to prevent or reverse radio-induced mucositis are required.

Abstract
Objective:To explore the early prelingual auditory development (EPLAD) of children with cochlear implants.Method:Children with cochlear implants switched on at 1 and 2 years old in our center were recruited in this longitudinal study, and the EPLAD of them would be tested with the ITMAIS at 3months, 6months, and 12months after switch on. Each children could be permitted to miss follow-up one time.Result:Seventy-five children with unilateral cochlear implants were recruited in the study, and divided into 2 age groups according to the age at switch on,1 year group (32 children) and 2 years group (43 children). The EPLAD of children in both groups improved as the time they wore the cochlear implants increased. The speeds of improvement in both groups were similar to that of normal children and faster than those of children with different hearing impairments and without any interventions. The mean total score at 12 months after switch on in 1 year groups could achieve the average level of mild hearing impaired peer without interventions. In addition, the total scores in both groups were significantly different at 3 months after switch on(P<0.05),and nosignificantly different at 6 and 12 months after switch on(P>0.05).Conclusion:Cochlear implant could help the children with profound sensorineural hearing loss to improve the abilities of EPLAD, and the speed of improvement in the 12 months after switch on was similar to that of normal children. And the results also indicated that the mean total scores at 12 months after switch on in both groups could be close to or achieve the average level of mild hearing impaired peer without interventions, it provided evidences to us for counseling and rehabilitation exercise. In addition, the result, total scores in both groups were just significantly different at 3 months after switch on, emphasized the importance of early intervention as well.

Abstract
Since the emergence of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in 2012, there have been a number of clusters of human-to-human transmission. These cases of human-to-human transmission involve close contact and have occurred primarily in healthcare settings, and they are suspected to result from repeated zoonotic introductions. In this study, we sequenced whole MERS-CoV genomes directly from respiratory samples collected from 23 confirmed MERS cases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). These samples included cases from three nosocomial and three household clusters. The sequences were analysed for changes and relatedness with regard to the collected epidemiological data and other available MERS-CoV genomic data. Sequence analysis supports the epidemiological data within the clusters, and further, suggests that these clusters emerged independently. To understand how and when these clusters emerged, respiratory samples were taken from dromedary camels, a known host of MERS-CoV, in the same geographic regions as the human clusters. Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus genomes from six virus-positive animals were sequenced, and these genomes were nearly identical to those found in human patients from corresponding regions. These data demonstrate a genetic link for each of these clusters to a camel and support the hypothesis that human MERS-CoV diversity results from multiple zoonotic introductions.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC), one of the common malignant cancers in the world, is caused by accumulated alterations of genetic and epigenetic factors over a long period of time. Along with that protein-coding genes being identified as oncogenes or tumor suppressors in CRC, a number of lncRNAs have also been found to be associated with CRC. Considering the important regulatory role of lncRNAs, the first goal of this study was to identify CRC-associated lncRNAs from a public database. One such lncRNA, LINC00472, was verified to be downregulated in CRC cell lines and cancer tissues compared with adjacent tissues. In addition, the down-regulation of LINC00472 seemed to be caused by DNA hypermethylation at its promoter region. Furthermore, the expression of LINC00472 and DNA methylation of promoter were significantly correlated with clinicopathological features. And DNA hypermethylation of LINC00472 may serve as a better diagnostic biomarker than its expression for CRC. Finally, we predicted the functions of LINC00472 and constructed a regulatory network and found LINC00472 may be involved in cell cycle and cell proliferation processes. Our results may provide a clue to further research into the function and regulatory mechanism of LINC00472 in CRC.

Abstract
We present a "nanoladder" geometry that minimizes the mechanical dissipation of ultrasensitive cantilevers. A nanoladder cantilever consists of a lithographically patterned scaffold of rails and rungs with feature size ∼100 nm. Compared to a rectangular beam of the same dimensions, the mass and spring constant of a nanoladder are each reduced by roughly 2 orders of magnitude. We demonstrate a low force noise of 158-42+62 zN and 190-33+42 zN in a 1 Hz bandwidth for devices made from silicon and diamond, respectively, measured at temperatures between 100-150 mK. As opposed to bottom-up mechanical resonators like nanowires or nanotubes, nanoladder cantilevers can be batch-fabricated using standard lithography, which is a critical factor for applications in scanning force microscopy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Current studies that analyze the usefulness of amino acid and FDG-PET in distinguishing brain metastasis recurrence and radionecrosis after radiation therapy are limited by small cohort size. PURPOSE Our aim was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of amino acid and FDG-PET in differentiating brain metastasis recurrence from radionecrosis after radiation therapy. DATA SOURCES Studies were retrieved from PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library. STUDY SELECTION Fifteen studies were included from the literature. Each study used PET to differentiate radiation necrosis from tumor recurrence in contrast-enhancing lesions on follow-up brain MR imaging after treating brain metastasis with radiation therapy. DATA ANALYSIS Data were analyzed with a bivariate random-effects model. Sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, and diagnostic odds ratio were pooled, and a summary receiver operating characteristic curve was fit to the data. DATA SYNTHESIS The overall pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, and diagnostic odds ratio of PET were 0.85, 0.88, 7.0, 0.17, and 40, respectively. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.93. On subgroup analysis of different tracers, amino acid and FDG-PET had similar diagnostic accuracy. Meta-regression analysis demonstrated that the method of quantification based on patient, lesion, or PET scan (based on lesion versus not, P = .07) contributed to the heterogeneity. LIMITATIONS Our study was limited by small sample size, and 60% of the included studies were of retrospective design. CONCLUSIONS Amino acid and FDG-PET had good diagnostic accuracy in differentiating brain metastasis recurrence from radionecrosis after radiation therapy.

Abstract
The production of nanowire materials, uniformly oriented along any arbitrarily chosen crystal orientation, is an important, yet unsolved, problem in material science. Here, we present a generalizable solution to this problem. The solution is based on the technique of glancing angle deposition combined with a rapid switching of the deposition direction between crystal symmetry positions. Using iron-cobalt as an example, we showcase the simplicity and capabilities of the process in one-step fabrications of 〈100〉, 〈110〉, 〈111〉, 〈210〉, 〈310〉, 〈320〉, and 〈321〉-oriented nanowires, three-dimensional nanowire spirals, core-shell heterostructures, and axial hybrids. Our results provide a new capability for tailoring the properties of nanowires, and should be generalizable to any material that can be grown as a single-crystal biaxial film.

Abstract
Background Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with mutated nucleophosmin (NPM1) has been recognized as a distinct leukemia entity in the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) classification. The genetic events underlying oncogenesis in NPM1-mutated AML that is characterized by a normal karyotype remain unclear. Inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase type II (INPP4B), a new factor in the phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K) pathway-associated cancers, has been recently found a clinically relevant role in AML. However, little is known about the specific mechanistic function of INPP4B in NPM1-mutated AML. Methods The INPP4B expression levels in NPM1-mutated AML primary blasts and AML OCI-AML3 cell lines were determined by qRT-PCR and western blotting. The effect of INPP4B knockdown on OCI-AML3 leukemia cell proliferation was evaluated, using the Cell Counting Kit-8 and colony formation assay. After INPP4B overexpression or knockdown, the activation of serum and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase 3 (SGK3) and AKT was assessed. The effects of PI3K signaling pathway inhibitors on the levels of p-SGK3 in OCI-AML3 cells were tested. The mass of PI (3,4) P2 and PI (3) P was analyzed by ELISA upon INPP4B overexpression. Knockdown of SGK3 by RNA interference and a rescue assay were performed to confirm the critical role of SGK3 in INPP4B-mediated cell survival. In addition, the molecular mechanism underlying INPP4B expression in NPM1-mutated leukemia cells was explored. Finally, Kaplan–Meier survival analysis was conducted on the NPM1-mutated AML cohort stratified into quartiles for INPP4B expression in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset. Results High expression of INPP4B was observed in NPM1-mutated AML. Knockdown of INPP4B repressed cell proliferation in OCI-AML3 cells, whereas recovered INPP4B rescued this inhibitory effect in vitro. Mechanically, INPP4B enhanced phosphorylated SGK3 (p-SGK3) status, but did not affect AKT activation. SGK3 was required for INPP4B-induced cell proliferation in OCI-AML3 cells. High levels of INPP4B were at least partially caused by the NPM1 mutant via ERK/Ets-1 signaling. Finally, high expression of INPP4B showed a trend towards lower overall survival and event-free survival in NPM1-mutated AML patients. Conclusions Our results indicate that INPP4B promotes leukemia cell survival via SGK3 activation, and INPP4B might be a potential target in the treatment of NPM1-mutated AML.

Abstract
The 2003 Beagle 2 Mars lander has been identified in Isidis Planitia at 90.43° E, 11.53° N, close to the predicted target of 90.50° E, 11.53° N. Beagle 2 was an exobiology lander designed to look for isotopic and compositional signs of life on Mars, as part of the European Space Agency Mars Express (MEX) mission. The 2004 recalculation of the original landing ellipse from a 3-sigma major axis from 174 km to 57 km, and the acquisition of Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) imagery at 30 cm per pixel across the target region, led to the initial identification of the lander in 2014. Following this, more HiRISE images, giving a total of 15, including red and blue-green colours, were obtained over the area of interest and searched, which allowed sub-pixel imaging using super high-resolution techniques. The size (approx. 1.5 m), distinctive multilobed shape, high reflectivity relative to the local terrain, specular reflections, and location close to the centre of the planned landing ellipse led to the identification of the Beagle 2 lander. The shape of the imaged lander, although to some extent masked by the specular reflections in the various images, is consistent with deployment of the lander lid and then some or all solar panels. Failure to fully deploy the panels-which may have been caused by damage during landing-would have prohibited communication between the lander and MEX and commencement of science operations. This implies that the main part of the entry, descent and landing sequence, the ejection from MEX, atmospheric entry and parachute deployment, and landing worked as planned with perhaps only the final full panel deployment failing.
