Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of gender on hepatic pathology and antibody-mediated immunity in Schistosoma japonicum-infected C57BL/6 mice. METHODS Female and male C57BL/6 mice were infected with S. japonicum, and the hepatic pathological changes were observed using HE and picrosirius red staining in mice 8 weeks post-infection. The serum specific IgG antibody levels against the soluble adult worm antigen (SWA) and soluble egg antigen (SEA) were measured in mice using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the percentages of follicular helper T (Tfh) cells and regulatory T (Treg) cells were detected in mouse spleen and lymph nodes using flow cytometry. RESULTS HE staining showed no significant difference in the mean area of a single hepatic egg granuloma between female and male mice 8 weeks post-infection with S. japonicum [(28.050 ± 3.576) × 104 μm2 vs. (26.740 ± 4.093) × 104 μm2; t = 0.241, P = 0.821], and picrosirius red staining revealed no statistical differences between female and male mice in terms of the mean proportion of picrosirius red stained hepatic tissues [(7.667 ± 1.856)% vs. (7.667 ± 1.764)%; t = 0, P = 1] or the mean optical density [(0.023 ± 0.003) vs. (0.027 ± 0.007); t = 0.447, P = 0.678]. ELISA detected no significant differences in the serum IgG antibody levels against SWA [(2.098 ± 0.037) vs. (1.970 ± 0.071); t = 1.595, P = 0.162] or SEA [(3.738 ± 0.039) vs. (3.708 ± 0.043); t = 0.512, P = 0.623] between female and male mice 8 weeks post-infection with S. japonicum. Flow cytometry detected significantly greater percentages of Tfh cells in the spleen [female mice, (8.645 ± 1.356)% vs. (1.730 ± 0.181)%, t = 5.055, P = 0.002; male mice, (8.470 ± 1.161)% vs. (1.583 ± 0.218)%, t = 5.829, P = 0.001] and lymph nodes [female mice, (3.218 ± 0.153)% vs. (1.095 ± 0.116)%, t = 11.040, P < 0.001; male mice, (3.673 ± 0.347)% vs. (0.935 ± 0.075)%, t = 8.994, P = 0.001) of both female and male mice 8 weeks post-infection with S. japonicum than in uninfected mice; however, no significant differences were seen between female and male mice 8 weeks post-infection with S. japonicum in terms of the percentages of Tfh cells in the spleen [(8.645 ± 1.356)% vs. (8.470 ± 1.161)%; t = 0.098, P = 0.925] or lymph nodes [(3.218 ± 0.153)% vs. (3.673 ± 0.347)%; t = 1.332, P = 0.241]. There was no significant difference in the proportion of Treg cells in the spleen of male mice between infected and uninfected mice [(10.060 ± 0.361)% vs. (10.130 ± 0.142)%; t = 0.174, P = 0.867], while a higher proportion of Treg cells was seen in the spleen of female mice 8 weeks post-infection with S. japonicum than in uninfected mice [(10.530 ± 0.242)% vs. (9.450 ± 0.263)%; t = 3.021, P = 0.023]. There was no significant difference in the proportion of Treg cells in the spleen between female and male mice infected with S. japonicum [(10.530 ± 0.242)% vs. (10.060 ± 0.361)%; t =1.077, P = 0.323]. In addition, the proportions of Treg cells were significantly greater in the lymph node of S. japonicum -infected female [(17.150 ± 0.805)% vs. (13.100 ± 0.265)%; t = 4.781, P = 0.003] and male mice [(18.550 ± 0.732)% vs. (12.630 ± 0.566)%; t = 6.402, P = 0.001] than in uninfected mice; however, no significant difference was seen between female and male mice 8 weeks post-infection [(17.150 ± 0.805)% vs. (18.550 ± 0.732)%; t = 1.287, P = 0.246]. CONCLUSIONS There are no gender-specific hepatic pathological changes or antibody-mediated immunity in C57BL/6 mice post-infection with S. japonicum.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The One-Child Policy led to the imbalance of the sex ratio at birth (SRB) in China. After that, Two-Child Policy was introduced and gradually liberalized at three stages. If both the husband and wife of one couple were the only child of their parents, they were allowed to have two children in policy (BTCP). If only one of them was the only child, they were allowed to have two children in policy (OTCP). The Universal Two-Child Policy (UTCP) allowed every couple to have two children. The objective of this study was to explore the changing trend of SRB at the stages of Two-Child Policy, to analyze the effect of population policy on SRB in terms of maternal age, delivery mode, parity, maternal education, delivery hospital, and to figure out what factors have greater impact on the SRB. METHODS The data of the study came from Hebei Province Maternal Near Miss Surveillance System, covered the parturients delivered at 28 gestation weeks or more in 22 hospitals from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017. We compared the SRB at different policy stages, analyzed the relationship between the SRB and population policy by logistic regression analysis. RESULTS Total 270,878 singleton deliveries were analyzed. The SRB, 1.084 at BTCP, 1.050 at OTCP, 1.047 at UTCP, declined rapidly (χ2 = 15.97, P < 0.01). With the introduction of Two-Child Policy, the percentage of parturients who were 30-34, ≥35 years old rose significantly, and the percentage of multiparous women increased significantly (40.7, 47.2, 56.6%). The neonatal mortality declined significantly (8.4‰, 6.7‰, 5.9‰, χ2 = 44.49, P < 0.01), the mortality rate of female infant gradually declined (48.2, 43.7, 43.9%). The logistic regression analysis showed the SRB was correlated to the three population policy stages in terms of maternal age, delivery mode, parity, maternal education, delivery hospital. CONCLUSIONS The SRB has declined to normal level with the gradually liberalizing of Two-Child Policy in China. Advanced maternal age, cesarean delivery, multiparous women, middle level education, rural hospital are the main factors of effect on the decline of the SRB.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect and molecular mechanism of circular RNA-UBXN7 (circ_UBXN7) on the proliferation, migration and apoptosis of hepatocellular carcinoma cells. Methods: Circ_UBXN7 expression in the tissues and cells of hepatocellular cancer was detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), and the relationship between circ_UBXN7 expression and clinicopathological features, including age, gender, tumor volume, pathological classification, staging, and lymph node metastasis was analyzed. The full-length sequence of circ_UBXN7 with lentivirus carrying lenti circ_UBXN7 and lenti circ_UBXN7 shRNA was constructed to transfect hepatocellular cell lines (HepG2 and Huh-7), respectively. CCK-8 experiments were performed to detect the ability of up- or down-regulation of circ_UBXN7 on the proliferation of HEPG2 and HUH-7 cells. Annexin V / PI experiment was used to detect the changes in apoptosis of HEPG2 and HUH-7 cells after up-regulation or down-regulation of circ_UBXN7 expression. JC-1 assay was used to detect the changes in mitochondrial potential energy of HEPG2 and HUH-7 cells after up-regulation or down-regulation of circ_UBXN7 expression. Transwell was used to detect the migration ability of HEPG2 and HUH-7 cells after up-regulation or down-regulation of circ_UBXN7 expression. Western blotting was used to detect the expressional change of TWIST, E-cadherin, N-cadherin and vimentin. Statistical analysis: The expression levels of circ_UBXN7 and clinicopathological features were measured by chi-square test. Two groups were compared by t-test and three groups and above were compared by single factor analysis of variance. LSD method was used for comparison between groups. Results: The expression of circ_UBXN7 in liver cancer tissues was significantly higher than adjacent tissues, and its expression level was significantly positively correlated with tumor volume, stage, and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). Lenti-circ_UBXN7 had up-regulated the expression of circ_UBXN7 in HEPG2 and HUH-7 cells and promoted cell proliferation. Lenti-circ_UBXN7-shRNA had down-regulated the expression of circ_UBXN7 and induced apoptosis. Lenti-circ_UBXN7-shRNA had reduced the mitochondrial membrane potential of cells. Lenti-circ_UBXN7 had promoted cell migration, while lenti-circ_UBXN7-shRNA had inhibited cell migration. Lenti-circ_UBXN7 had induced increased expression of Twist, N-cadherin, and Vimentin proteins, and reduced the expression of E-cadherin protein. Lenti-circ_UBXN7-shRNA had opposite effects on the expression levels of each protein. Starbase V2.0 software showed that miR-203a and circ_UBXN7 had potential binding sites, and miR-203a and circ_UBXN7 expression levels were negatively correlated in HEP G2 and HUH-7 cells. Conclusion: circ_UBXN7 plays an important role in promoting the occurrence and development of liver cancer, and is expected to become a potential target for the treatment of liver cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the immunological functions of heat shock protein 40 kDa of Schistosoma japonicum (SjHSP40). METHODS The homology of the SjHSP40 protein sequence was analyzed and the B and T cell epitopes of SjHSP40 were predicted using bioinformatics tools. The full-length SjHSP40 gene was amplified using a PCR assay, and cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-6P-1, which was transformed into Escherichia coli BL-21. The protein expression was induced with isopropyl β-D-thiogalactoside (IPDG), and then, the recombinant protein was purified with glutathione-sepharose 4B resin to yield the fusion protein GST-SjHSP40, which was checked with SDS-PAGE and Western blotting. Following immunization with GST-SjHSP40, the serum levels of anti-SjHSP40 IgG antibody and IgG1 and IgG2a subtypes were detected in BALB/c mice using ELISA. In addition, the effect of SjHSP40 on CD4+ T-cell subset differentiation was examined using flow cytometry. RESULTS SjHSP40 contained 7 potential B cell epitopes and multiple T cell epitopes (CTL epitopes and Th epitopes). The prokaryotic expression plasmid pGEX-6p-1-SjSHP40 was successfully constructed, and the fusion protein GST-SjHSP40 was obtained following IPDG induction and protein purification. Significantly higher serum levels of anti-SjHSP40 IgG, IgG1 and IgG2a antibodies were detected in mice immunized with GST-SjHSP40 than in other groups; however, SjHSP40 showed no remarkable effects on CD4+ T-cell subset differentiation. CONCLUSIONS SjHSP40 may induce specific humoral immune responses in mice; however, it does not affect the balance of Th immune responses. It is suggested that SjHSP40 may be a potential vaccine candidate.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The knowledge of pre-existing medical illnesses and their follow up status among active pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) subjects can help in tuberculosis (TB) control programme. The aims of our study were to examine: the prevalence of pre-existing chronic medical illnesses, the follow up status of known pre-existing co-morbid and to distinguish between diagnosed and undiagnosed preexisting tuberculosis related chronic medical illnesses among our active PTB subjects. METHODS We conducted a retrospective review of demographic and clinical data of active PTB subjects that were diagnosed between January 2015 and June 2017 in the district of Manjung, Perak, Malaysia. Among the 302 TB clinical notes reviewed, 253 patients were included. Subjects below the age of 18 years and whose follow up centres for their medical illnesses that were located outside of Manjung were excluded. Demographic and clinical data were collected using pre-tested data collection form by trained investigators. The data was analysed using SPSS Version 20.0. RESULTS We identified diabetes mellitus as the most prevalent pre-existing co-morbid (77 cases) and almost 90% (68 cases) of these diabetic subjects were diagnosed prior to active PTB diagnosis. This was followed by Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Hepatitis C infection which accounted for 12.0% (30 cases) of the study populations. Among 132 subjects who had pre-existing chronic medical illnesses, only 74 subjects (29%) were under regular follow up at healthcare facilities in Manjung prior to PTB diagnosis. CONCLUSION Overall, our research provides evidence on the existence of wide variation of clinical background among active PTB subjects.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the incidence, risk factors of cardiovascular events (CVE) and their impact on 30-day mortality in patients hospitalized with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Methods: This is a multicenter, retrospective study. Patients hospitalized with CAP from 5 teaching hospitals in Beijing, Shandong and Yunnan provinces during 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2015 were included and clinical data were retrieved from the Hospital Information System (HIS), and patients were divided into CVE group and non-CVE group. Age, sex, comorbidities, pneumonia severity index(PSI)/CURB-65 score, routine blood test, biochemical examinations, radiological findings on admission and mortality on 30-day after admission were analyzed. The primary endpoint was acute CVE during hospitalization, the secondary endpoint was 30-day death after admission. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to explore the risk factors for CVE. Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used to compare the difference on 30-day mortality between CVE patients and non-CVE patients by Log-rank test. Multivariate Cox regression model was used to assess the impact of CVE on the 30-day mortality among CAP patients after adjustment with age, sex, comorbidities, PSI/CURB-65 score. Results: A total of 3 561 CAP patients were included into the final analysis, including 210 (5.9%) patients in CVE group and 3 351 (94.1%) patients in non-CVE group. Compared with patients in non-CVE group, patients in CVE group were older (P<0.001), prevalence of hypertension, coronary heart disease, chronic heart failure, cerebrovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic kidney disease, aspiration risk and bedrid were significantly higher (all P<0.001); prevalence of CURB-65 score 3-5 and PSI risk class Ⅳ/Ⅴ were also significantly higher (both P<0.001). The proportion of axillary temperature<36 ℃, respiratory rate≥30 beats/minutes, confusion, leukocytes>10×10(9)/L, hemoglobin<100 g/L, platelets>300×10(9)/L, albumin<35 g/L, blood urea nitrogen>7 mmol/L, fasting blood glucose>11 mmol/L, serum C-reaction protein>100 mg/L, serum procalcitonin≥2 μg/L, arterial pH<7.35, arterial PO(2)/FiO(2)≤300 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa), and multilobar infiltrates and pleural effusion on chest X-ray or CT scan were significantly higher in CVE group than in non-CVE group(all P<0.05); the 30-day mortality was significantly higher in CVE group than in non-CVE group(P<0.001). The incidence of CVE was significantly higher in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease(CVD) than in patients without CVD (13.9%(150/1 079) vs. 2.4%(60/2 482), χ(2)=178.737, P<0.001). Meanwhile, the incidence of CVE increased with PSI in patients with Ⅰ/Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ/Ⅴ class, respectively(χ(2)=228.350, P<0.001); and CURB-65 score 0-1, 2 and 3-5, respectively (χ(2)=387.154, P<0.001). Cox regression analysis revealed that age (HR=1.05, 95%CI 1.02-1.09, P=0.002), coronary heart disease (HR=1.88, 95%CI 1.01-3.51, P=0.048), chronic heart failure (HR=4.25, 95%CI 1.89-9.52, P<0.001), PSI risk class (HR=1.66, 95%CI 1.50-2.62, P=0.029) and serum procalcitonin≥ 2 μg/L (HR=3.72, 95%CI 1.60-8.66, P=0.002) were independent risk factors for CVE in CAP patients. Kaplan-Meier curve showed that the survival probability of patients with CVE was significantly lower than patients without CVE (P<0.001). After adjustment for age, sex, comorbidities and PSI/CURB-65 score, Cox regression model showed that CVE was associated with increased 30-day mortality in CAP patients (HR=6.05, 95%CI 3.11-11.76, P<0.001). Conclusions: Although the incidence of CVE is not high in Chinese patients hospitalized with CAP, CVE is common in patients with severe pneumonia and in patients with CVD. Age, cardiovascular disease, PSI risk class and serum procalcitonin are the risk factors for CVE in this patient cohort. CVE is related to increased 30-day mortality in CAP patients.

Abstract
We report constraints on the dark photon effective kinetic mixing parameter (κ) with data taken from two p-type point-contact germanium detectors of the CDEX-10 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The 90% confidence level upper limits on κ of solar dark photon from 205.4 kg-day exposure are derived, probing new parameter space with masses (m_{V}) from 10 to 300 eV/c^{2} in direct detection experiments. Considering dark photon as the cosmological dark matter, limits at 90% confidence level with m_{V} from 0.1 to 4.0 keV/c^{2} are set from 449.6 kg-day data, with a minimum of κ=1.3×10^{-15} at m_{V}=200 eV/c^{2}.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To quantitatively evaluate the diagnostic value of variable-temperature and isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques in the detection of schistosomiasis japonica using a meta-analysis. METHODS The publications pertaining to the nucleic acid detection of schistosomiasis japonica were searched in electronic databases, including Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, PubMed and ScienceDirect, and the compilations and proceedings of schistosomiasis were manually searched. In addition, the citations of publications associated with the nucleic acid detection of schistosomiasis japonica were traced using a document tracing method. The retrieved literatures were screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted from the included literatures. The quality of the included literatures was assessed using the software RevMan version 5.3, and a meta-analysis was performed using the software MetaDiSc version 1.4. RESULTS A total of 19 publications covering 24 groups of studies were enrolled, including 5 Chinese publications and 14 English publications. There were 17 groups of studies reporting the comparison between the variable-temperature nucleic acid amplification technique and the golden standard, and 7 groups of studies showing the comparison between the isothermal nucleic acid amplification technique and the golden standard. Assessment of the literature quality indicated a minor overall bias of the included literatures, and the Deek funnel plot showed a possible publication bias in the documents reports variable-temperature nucleic acid amplification techniques. There was a heterogeneity caused by non-threshold effect among the studies associated with the variable-temperature amplification technique, and the random effects model was therefore used to combine the effects. The pooled sensitivity and specificity of the variable-temperature amplification technique were 0.81 (0.79 to 0.83) and 0.73 (0.71 to 0.74) for the diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica, and area under the SROC curve was 0.944 3. There was no heterogeneity among the studies associated with the isothermal amplification technique, and the fixed effects model was therefore used to combine the effects. The pooled sensitivity and specificity of the isothermal amplification technique were 0.96 (0.94 to 0.98) and 0.95 (0.94 to 0.97) for the diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica, and area under the SROC curve was 0.989 9. CONCLUSIONS Both variable-temperature and isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques have a high efficiency for the diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica, and the isothermal amplification technique shows a relatively higher accuracy than the variable-temperature amplification technique.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the abnormal changes of gray matter volume and its relationship with cognitive function in first-episode childhood- and adolescence-onset schizophrenia. Methods: A total of 39 (aged 10-16 years) first-episode childhood- and adolescence-onset schizophrenia (patient group) were recruited from the inpatient departments of Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University between 2014 and 2016, meanwhile, 30 age-, sex- and education years-matched healthy children and adolescents (control group) were also enrolled. All the subjects underwent 3.0 T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. The volume of gray matter in two groups was compared by voxel based morphometric method (VBM). MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) and the Stroop Color and Word Test (SCWT) were employed to evaluate the cognitive function of the two groups, and the relationship between the abnormal gray matter region and the cognitive function in the two group was analyzed. Results: Compared with the control group, brain gray matter volume in the right insula, left inferior frontal gyrus, the left limbic edge were significantly decreased (t=-5.303, -5.302, and -6.211; all P<0.05). Trail making test scores in the patient group were higher than those of the control group (t=3.22, P<0.01). However, scores of symbol coding, HVLT-R, BVMT-R, word fluency, digital span, maze test, word, color and color word were lower than those of the control group (t=-6.41, -5.42, -7.77, -5.59, -8.78, -6.99, -6.98, -6.47 and 4.84, all P<0.01). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the right insula was positively correlated with the BVMT-R and maze test scores, and the left inferior frontal gyrus was positively correlated with the maze scores in the patient group (r=0.32, 0.50 and 0.45, all P<0.05). The left inferior frontal gyrus was positively correlated with the digital span in control group (r=0.46, P<0.05). Conclusion: The first-episode childhood-and adolescence-onset schizophrenia exhibits abnormal changes of gray matter volume and cognitive function, and the pathophysiological mechanisms of a wide range of cognitive impairments may be related to abnormal volume changes of gray matter.

Abstract
We present results on light weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) searches with annual modulation (AM) analysis on data from a 1-kg mass p-type point-contact germanium detector of the CDEX-1B experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. Datasets with a total live time of 3.2 yr within a 4.2-yr span are analyzed with analysis threshold of 250 eVee. Limits on WIMP-nucleus (χ-N) spin-independent cross sections as function of WIMP mass (m_{χ}) at 90% confidence level (C.L.) are derived using the dark matter halo model. Within the context of the standard halo model, the 90% C.L. allowed regions implied by the DAMA/LIBRA and CoGeNT AM-based analysis are excluded at >99.99% and 98% C.L., respectively. These results correspond to the best sensitivity at m_{χ}<6 GeV/c^{2} among WIMP AM measurements to date.

Abstract
The construction of Yangtze River Economic Belt has been included in the national strategy of China, aiming to improve the economic level of the whole population, and to build a green ecological corridor with the joint development of economy, balance, ecology and equity. Yangtze River Economic Belt is the main area where schistosomiasis is endemic. During the economic construction, the prevention and control of schistosomiasis should be strictly carried out to facilitate the progress towards schistosomiasis elimination in China. In this paper, the endemic situation of schistosomiasis in Yangtze River Economic Belt areas and the possible impact on the schistosomiasis control were analyzed. In addition, a few suggestions were proposed for schistosomiasis control in Yangtze River Economic Belt areas.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety profiles of tiotropium/olodaterol with the mono-components in Chinese and total study population from TONADO trial. Methods: In the replicate, double-blind, parallel-group, active-controlled, randomized, 52-week, Phase Ⅲ TONADO studies (TONADO 1+2), patients received tiotropium/olodaterol, tiotropium, or olodaterol via the Respimat(®) Inhaler (Boehringer Ingelheim, Germany). Primary end points were forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV(1)) area under the curve from 0 to 3 hours (AUC(0-3h)) response and trough FEV(1) response, and St George's respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) total score at 24 weeks. Adverse events were also collected. This subgroup analysis only focused on the efficacy and safety of the drug at the approved dose in China. Results: 548 Chinese patients were randomized, aged 41 to 82 years [mean age, (63±8) years] and most were male (526, 96%), 111 received tiotropium/olodaterol 5/5 μg, and 127 received tiotropium 5 μg and 95 received olodaterol 5 μg. The baseline characteristics of these groups were similar. After 24 weeks, treatment with tiotropium/olodaterol 5/5 μg, tiotropium 5 μg and olodaterol 5 μg resulted in an adjusted mean FEV(1) AUC(0-3h) response of 0.240, 0.157 and 0.079 L, and trough FEV(1) response of 0.117, 0.068 and-0.001 L, respectively. Tiotropium/olodaterol 5/5 μg significantly improved SGRQ scores in Chinese patients compared with olodaterol 5 μg (32.729 and 37.202, respectively). Generally, the safety profile of tiotropium/olodaterol was comparable with mono-components in 52 weeks. Conclusion: Compared with tiotropium or olodaterol, tiotropium/olodaterol in Chinese patients provided significant improvement in lung function and quality of life, and the safety profiles were similar.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of pressure therapy in treating patients with hypertrophic scars by meta-analysis. Methods: Databases including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were retrieved with the search terms"hypertrophic scar, hyperplastic scar, HTS, pressure therapy, pressure treatment, and the Chinese Journals Full-text Database was retrieved with the search terms in Chinese version",,,,"to obtain the publicly published randomized controlled trials about pressure therapy in the treatment of patients with hypertrophic scar from the establishment of each database to July 2017. The measurement indexes included the effective ratio, Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) score, scar vascularity, scar hardness, scar pigment, scar thickness, and value of scar color (brightness, red, and yellow). RevMan 5.3 and Stata 12.0 statistical software were used to conduct a meta-analysis of eligible studies. Results: A total of 667 hypertrophic scar patients were enrolled in 11 articles, including 362 patients in pressure therapy group who received pressure treatment and 305 patients in untreated group who received no treatment. The bias risks of the 11 studies included were uncertain. Compared with those of untreated group, the effective ratio of patients in pressure therapy group was significantly increased, with the relative risk of 5.98 (95% confidence interval=1.83-19.46, P<0.01); the VSS score and scar vascularity of patients in pressure therapy group were obviously decreased, with weighted mean differences of -2.24 and -0.66 respectively (95% confidence interval=-4.16--0.33, -1.21--0.12, P<0.05); the scar hardness, scar pigment, scar thickness, and value of scar color (brightness, red, and yellow) of patients in pressure therapy group were not changed obviously (P≥0.05). Significant heterogeneity existed in the included studies of the effective ratio, VSS score, scar vascularity, scar hardness, scar pigment, and scar thickness, P<0.01, I(2)=90%, 87%, 80%, 93%, 86%, 94%. Pressure range might be the heterogeneity source of effective ratio, and pressure clothing combined with pressure pad therapy might be a heterogeneous source of VSS score. Sensitivity analysis showed that the combined effect size results were stable in the effective ratio and scar pigment, but not stable in the VSS score, scar thickness, scar hardness, and scar vascularity. There was no publication bias in the effective ratio, VSS score, scar hardness, scar pigment, and scar vascularity (P>0.1), while there was publication bias in the scar thickness (95% confidence interval=-19.77--3.30, P<0.1). Conclusions: Compared with patients without treatment, in the treatment of hypertrophic scars, pressure therapy can obviously increase the effective ratio, reduce the VSS score and scar vascularity, but can not obviously improve the scar hardness, scar pigment, scar thickness, and value of scar color (brightness, red, and yellow).

Abstract
Abstract Objective To study the mechanism of change of the electrical conductivity (EC) of rat skeletal muscle impregnating solution that occurs with the change of postmortem interval (PMI). Methods Healthy Sprague-Dawley rats were killed and kept at about 25 ℃. Skeletal muscles were extracted at different PMI--immediate (0 d), 1 d, 2 d, 3 d, 4 d, 5 d, 6 d, and 7 d, then mixed with deionized water to make impregnating solution with a mass concentration of 0.1 g/mL. The solution's EC and nine common chemicals in it, such as potassium ion, calcium ion, and chloride ion, were determined. Results EC increased gradually with the extending of PMI (P=0.024) during the 7 days after the rats' death. The content of uric acid (P=0.032), urea nitrogen (P=0.013) and phosphorus (P=0.022) also increased during the extension. However, the content of magnesium ions decreased with extending of PMI (P=0.047). The correlation between potassium ion, sodium ion, chlorine ion, calcium ion, creatinine and PMI were weak (P>0.05). Conclusion The molecular basis of skeletal muscle EC change in rats after their death is the changes of uric acid, urea nitrogen, inorganic phosphorus and other chemical components. Furthermore, combine use of various indicators can improve the accuracy of the EC method to infer PMI.

Abstract
We report results on the searches of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) with sub-GeV masses (m_{χ}) via WIMP-nucleus spin-independent scattering with Migdal effect incorporated. Analysis on time-integrated (TI) and annual modulation (AM) effects on CDEX-1B data are performed, with 737.1 kg day exposure and 160 eVee threshold for TI analysis, and 1107.5 kg day exposure and 250 eVee threshold for AM analysis. The sensitive windows in m_{χ} are expanded by an order of magnitude to lower DM masses with Migdal effect incorporated. New limits on σ_{χN}^{SI} at 90% confidence level are derived as 2×10^{-32}∼7×10^{-35} cm^{2} for TI analysis at m_{χ}∼50-180 MeV/c^{2}, and 3×10^{-32}∼9×10^{-38} cm^{2} for AM analysis at m_{χ}∼75 MeV/c^{2}-3.0 GeV/c^{2}.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To explore the relationship between the electrical conductivity (EC) and biochemical indicators of rat cerebrum tissues and postmortem intervals (PMIs) and discuss the mechanism of applying EC to infer PMI. Methods Forty healthy Sprague-Dawley rats were sacrificed and stored in an environment of about 25 ℃. The whole cerebrum tissues of rats were removed respectively at different PMIs of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 d, and then made into homogenized impregnation solution. The EC and related biochemical indicators (potassium, sodium, chloride, calcium, inorganic phosphorus, magnesium, uric acid, urea nitrogen and creatinine) in cerebrum tissue impregnation solution were determined, and the relationships among EC in impregnation solution, related biochemical indicators and PMI were analyzed. Results The EC in cerebrum tissues increased gradually with the extension of PMI, and the content of uric acid, urea nitrogen and inorganic phosphorus in its impregnation solution also increased gradually with the extension of PMI. The correlation of EC, uric acid, urea nitrogen, and inorganic phosphorus with PMI was relatively good (R2 was 0.95-0.99), and there was a linear correlation between the content change of uric acid, urea nitrogen, inorganic phosphorus and EC (R2 was 0.97-0.99). The changes of the other 6 kinds of biochemical indicators with the extension of PMI within 7 d after the rats' death were non-significant (P>0.05). Conclusion The correlation between EC in cerebrum tissues, uric acid, urea nitrogen, inorganic phosphorus and PMI were relatively good, and combining various indicators can also improve the accuracy of PMI estimation.

Abstract
First principle (FP) calculations were performed to systematically study the structural properties of ZrN, LaN and ThN with GGA correction. The ground state properties, wave velocities and Debye temperature of B1, P63/mmc, Pnma and B2 phase in ZrN, LaN and ThN were investigated and agree well with other theoretical and experimental results. More importantly, some novel phases are predicted in these materials, i.e. with the increasing pressure the phase transition sequence in ZrN and ThN is found to be B1 → P63/mmc → B2 phase, while in LaN, the sequence of B1 → Pnma → B2 is observed. Furthermore, our calculated elastic properties also confirm the prediction of phase transition under high pressure. These phase transitions arise from the optical phonon softening of B1 at around X, M and G points of Brillouin zone and P63/mmc (or Pnma) structure at around G, and H-K points.

Abstract
From November 2015 to July 2017, six patients with skin and soft tissue defects of vulva, vagina, and buttock after resection of vulvar tumors were hospitalized in our unit. All patients were female, aged 45-70 years. Among them, four patients had bilateral defects, and two patients had unilateral defect. The defect area on each side ranged from 6 cm×4 cm to 12 cm×6 cm. Internal pudendal artery perforator " angel wing" island flaps were used to repair and reconstruct the defects. The area of flaps ranged from 7 cm×5 cm to 14 cm×7 cm. The donor sites were sutured directly. All 10 flaps of 6 patients survived. Two patients had local incision infection 3 days after operation. One of the two patients was healed 2 weeks after dressing change, and the other one underwent debridement and suture 1 week after dressing change and was healed 1 week after surgery. Follow-up for 6-12 months after surgery showed no recurrence of tumors, no eversion of vagina, better shape of vulva in bilateral reconstruction cases, and slightly worse symmetry in unilateral reconstruction cases. The skin of the reconstructed area was soft, with sensations of pain, temperature, and touch recovered in varying degrees. The distance of a two-point discrimination was 20-30 mm. Linear scars were left in the flap donor sites, with no impact on squatting or striding. In vaginal examination, 1.5 to 2.0 fingers could be inserted in bilateral reconstruction cases, while 2.0 to 3.0 fingers could be inserted in unilateral reconstruction cases. The anus functioned well during defecation.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical effects of antibiotic bone cement in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. Methods: According to the treatment methods, 18 patients with diabetic foot ulcers (11 males and 7 females, aged 53-79 years), who were conformed to the study criteria and admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to January 2017, were enrolled in traditional group; 18 patients with diabetic foot ulcers (11 males and 7 females, aged 55-80 years), who were conformed to the study criteria and admitted to our hospital from February 2017 to February 2018, were enrolled in bone cement group. Wounds of patients in traditional group were treated with vacuum sealing drainage after conventional debridement. Wounds of patients in bone cement group were covered with antibiotic bone cement after conventional debridement. The number of patients with positive bacterial culture in wound exudate in the 2 groups on admission and 3, 6, 9, and 15 days after surgery, the length of hospital stay, the number of operation, and the wound complete healing time were retrospectively recorded. Data were processed with Fisher's exact probability test and independent sample t test. Results: Compared with (29±10) d and (4.6±1.2) times of patients in traditional group, the length of hospital stay [(9±3) d] of patients was obviously shortened, the number of operation [(1.3±0.6) times] of patients was obviously reduced, the number of patients with positive bacterial culture in wound exudate at each time point post surgery was obviously reduced (t=8.177, 9.896, P<0.05 or P<0.01) in bone cement group. There were no statistically significant differences in the number of patients with positive bacterial culture in wound exudate on admission and wound complete healing time between patients in the 2 groups (t=0.175, P>0.05). Conclusions: The antibiotic bone cement treatment of diabetic foot ulcers can reduce the number of patients with positive bacterial culture in wound exudate and the number of operation, as well as shorten the length of hospital stay.

Abstract
Mercury emission flows in the global supply chains have evolved into an ever-increasing complex network. However, the underlying structural features remain unknown. Therefore, the global embodied mercury flow network was constructed to reveal the characteristics of energy-induced mercury emissions embodied in international trade at both national and sectoral scales. The small-world nature of the global mercury flows network was identified at both scales. Results showed that the global mercury flow network can be divided into 4 national communities, within which the spillover effects of the interventions in one region spread more easily. Detecting the mercury-intensive supply-chain clusters highlights the importance of monitoring these clusters that dominate mercury emissions in global supply chains, which could offer insights on where policy can be implemented effectively. Moreover, vital regions (e.g., mainland China, the USA, and Germany) and sectors (e.g., Petroleum, Chemical and Non-Metallic Mineral Products, Metal Products and Electrical and Machinery in mainland China) for global mercury control have been unveiled by using an integrated centrality measurement system. Our results highlight that, for the overall mercury reduction, regional and even global collaboration should be enhanced along with efforts in individual regions, and enterprises in these important sectors should invest more to green their cluster-wise supply chains.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To assess the feasibility of using 28S ribosomal RNA (28S rRNA) and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit Ⅰ (COⅠ) gene sequences of nine necrophagous Calliphorid flies for the identification of common necrophagous Calliphorid flies, and to provide technical support for postmortem interval (PMI) estimation. Methods Twenty-three Calliphorid flies were collected and identified morphologically, and DNA were extracted from legs. The gene fragments of 28S rRNA and COⅠ were amplified and sequenced, then the sequence alignment was performed with BLAST. The composition of obtained sequences was analyzed and evolutionary divergence rate between species and intraspecies were established. The phylogeny tree was constructed with neighbor-joining method. Results The 23 necrophagous Calliphorid flies were identified to 9 species of 5 genera. The 715 bp from 28S rRNA and 637 bp from COⅠ gene were obtained and the online BLAST result showed more than 99% of similarity. The phylogeny tree showed that the necrophagous flies could cluster well into 9 groups, which was consistent with morphological identification results. The intraspecific difference in 28S rRNA was 0 and the interspecific difference was 0.001-0.033. The intraspecific difference in COⅠ was 0-0.008 and the interspecific difference was 0.006-0.101. Conclusion Combined use of 28S rRNA and COⅠ gene sequence fragments can effectively identify the nine Calliphorid flies in this study. However, for closely related blowfly species, more genetic markers should be explored and used in combination in future.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 7 (Siglec-7) expressed on NK cells and hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis. Methods: Peripheral venous blood samples were collected from 23 healthy controls and 31 patients with hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis (Child-Pugh A, n = 7; Child-Pugh B, n = 12; Child-Pugh C, n = 12). Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were obtained by using Ficoll-Hypaque density gradient centrifugation and the expression of Siglec-7 and NK cells phenotype and their subpopulations were detected by flow cytometry. Comparisons between various groups were performed using t -test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and correlations between variables were analyzed using Pearson's-correlation coefficient. Results: (1) There was no significant difference in the percentage of NK cells and in their subpopulations with HBV-related cirrhosis and healthy controls. (2) Siglec-7 expression on NK cells in patients with HBV-related cirrhosis(62.44±13.45%)was significantly down-regulated than that to healthy controls(75.39±12.19%)while the frequency of Siglec-7(+) NK cells were negatively correlated with Child-Pugh score. (3) Subpopulation analysis showed that Siglec-7 expression on CD56(bright)CD16(-)NK cells(66.99±15.93%)was significantly lower than CD56(dim)CD16(+)NK cells(76.54±13.9%) in HBV-related cirrhosis. However, the expression of Siglec-7 in healthy controls showed no difference in these two NK cell subsets. (4) Phenotypic analysis showed that Siglec-7(+) NK cells express higher levels of activating receptor CD16, CD38, NKp46 and lower levels of inhibitory receptor CD158b. Indeed, the frequency of CD16 and CD38 on Siglec-7(+) NK cells in HBV-related cirrhosis was lower than that in healthy controls. Conclusion: The disease progression in patients with hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis is associated to decreased frequencies of Siglec-7(+)NK cells.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the optimum staining condition of tea solutions on bovine incisors in vitro, by comparing the color stability of tooth surface of different concentrations of tea solutions and methods on bovine incisors in vitro. METHODS Twenty bovine incisors with color surface A1 were chosen, then randomly divided into 4 groups (n=10). Group 1: soaked with 2% tea solution continuously for 6 days; group 2: soaked with 2% tea solution for 6 days, but changed fresh tea solution everyday; group 3: soaked with 1% tea solution continuously for 6 days; group 4: soaked with 1% tea solution for 6 days but fresh tea solution changed every day. After 6 days of staining, the surface color (Δ E value) of all the samples were measured with crystal eye. After brushing 30 times with toothbrushes, the color of bovine incisors were measured again. Then the samples were soaked in artificial saliva at 37 ° C, and Δ E value was measured for 14 days. RESULTS After staining for 6 days, the Δ E values of the 2% tea solution groups were better than those of the 1% groups (20.21 vs. 16.44, 24.09 vs. 19.22, P<0.05); the groups with the same tea solution concentration, a better result was observed for the group soaked with daily fresh tea solution than for the group that experienced continuous staining (24.09 vs. 20.21, 19.22 vs. 16.44, P<0.05). Groups 1 and 2 were selected for subsequent brushing experiments. The color of both groups became lighter after brushing, and a better result was observed for the continuous staining group than for the group stained in daily fresh solution (3.06 vs. 9.51, P<0.05). The samples with better coloring effect soaked with 2% tea solution continuously for 6 days were put into artificial saliva for 14 days. There was not any significant change in coloring at the end of the first two days (1.51 vs. 1.51, P>0.05), and the color was visibly lighter after the third day (1.51 vs. 5.89, P<0.05), and no further significant change was observed until the 14th day (5.81 vs.5.89, P>0.05), which was darker coloring than that of the pre-staining group. CONCLUSION Continuous staining on bovine incisors with 2% tea solution with subsequent soaking in artificial saliva resulted in consistent coloring from day 3 to day 14, and this method could be used as an ideal model for teeth staining in vitro.

Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the risk factors and epidemiological characteristics of placental abruption (PA) in Hebei province. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect data on 218 880 pregnant women who were hospitalized in 22 hospitals which were under a monitoring program, in Hebei province, from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2016. Data regarding epidemiological characteristics as time distribution, population distribution and related risk factors of placental abruption were gathered and analyzed. Results: In this cohort study, 218 880 women were included, with 669 (0.31%) of the pregnant women having PA. The overall prevalence rates were higher in the South than in the north parts of the area and higher in more developed regional economic centers. The average age of women having the episode was (27.87±4.50) years and presented "J" distribution on the prevalence of maternal age. Results from the multivariate regression analysis showed that the following factors were independently at risk for placental abruption: pregnancy the including hypertension (OR=1.65, 95%CI: 1.09-2.50), mild preeclampsia (OR=3.65, 95%CI: 2.40-5.56), severe preeclampsia (OR=4.72, 95%CI: 3.86-5.76) and anemia (OR=2.41, 95%CI: 2.05-2.83) which were all increased in pregnant women with PA compared with the normal female population without placental abruption. Conclusions: Placental abruption seemed to be associated with a moderate increasing risk of age, and was seen higher in those population older than 35 or younger than 20 year-olds. It was suggested that appropriate inoculation programs should be taken in different regions, especially on high-risk groups. Health education on related disease was of great significance for improving the prenatal outcome.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To determine the electrical conductivity (EC) of the liver, spleen and kidney of rats at different postmortem intervals (PMIs) within 24 hours for investigating the relationship between EC of different organs and early PMI. METHODS Totally 45 SD rats were sacrificed by cervical dislocation and kept at a constant temperature of 25 ℃. Tissues were taken from the liver, spleen, and kidney of rats at 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 24 h. Impregnating solution with a mass concentration 0.1 g/mL was prepared using deionized water. The EC value of impregnating solution with different organs was separately determined. The regression equations of EC and PMI for different organs were established, respectively. The relationship between EC of different organs and early PMI was analysed in deceased rats. RESULTS The relationship between PMI and EC of the liver and spleen was well fitted with the linear equation. The liver showed the best fitting degree followed by the spleen, while the EC of the kidney showed no significant changes within 24 h. There was a good linear relationship between early PMI and the EC of the liver and spleen. CONCLUSIONS A good linear relationship between early PMI and the EC of the liver and spleen can be found in rats after death, which can be used for the early PMI estimation.

Abstract
Asthma is a respiratory disease that affects people of all walks of life, and is a hotspot of continuous research, with significant manpower and resources invested in its study. Airway remodeling is an important associated pathological change, and a mark of the irreversible damage produced by asthma. It involves compositional and functional changes in the cells of the airway walls, leading to reversible structural changes, and complicating treatment. Airway remodeling is mediated by different inflammatory pathways which have been targeted for treatment, with good results. However, given its complexity, systematic study of the pathogenesis of airway remodeling is still needed, and additional targeted therapies are necessary. Macrolide drugs, such as erythromycin, azithromycin, and clarithromycin, have antibacterial effects and also influence the cytokine secretion of macrophages and T-lymphocytes. They have direct effects on a variety of cytokines, inhibiting inflammation and reducing airway reactivity. In this study, we investigated the protective effect of azithromycin on airway remodeling through the phosphoinositol-3 kinase/Akt/mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase/hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway. We observed that a long course of azithromycin could significantly reduce airway reactivity and ovalbulmin-induced pathological alterations in asthmatic mice. Gene expression analysis confirmed that HIF-1α and VEGF were significantly down-regulated following a long course of azithromycin administration.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate effects of four different types of nasal packs after endoscopic sinus surgery. Method:Sixty patients with chronic rhinosinusitis who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery were evaluated preoperatively using visual analog symptom scale, Lund-Kennedy endoscopy scoring scale, and Lund Mackay CT scoring scale. All patients received nasal packing after operative, and divided into four groups based on the nasal packs used: nasopore group (16 cases), merocel group (16 cases), vaseline gauze group(16 cases) and merocel with vaseline gauze group(12 cases). All packs were removed 48 to 72 hour after the surgery. Clinical effects of four nasal packs were evaluated based on following indexes: pain after twelve hours of nasal packing, bleeding during nasal packing, pain and bleeding during packing removal, difficulty of packing removal. Result:The lowest degree of forementioned five different indexes was found in Nasopore group, and was significantly different with other three groups(P <0.05), merocel produced the highest bleeding during nasal packing, which had significant difference with other three groups(P <0.05), vaseline gauze produced the highest pain during nasal packing and packing removal, which had significant difference with other three groups(P <0.05), merocel combined vaseline gauze had no significant difference with merocel on the pain during nasal packing and packing removal(P >0.05), and it had no significant difference with vaseline gauze on bleeding during nasal packing, bleeding upon packing removal and degree of difficulty or ease upon packing removal(P >0.05).Conclusion:As a new type of high expansion absorbable nasal packing products applied after FESS, nasopore has the advantages of good hemostatic effect, higher nasal comfort level, least bleeding upon packing removal and so on. At the same time, the implementation of personalized mixed nasal packing of different materials could make up for the various defects when used alone, gained better clinical effect and worthy of clinical popularization and application.

Abstract
Neurofeedback therapy is a fast-growing field of tinnitus treatment, which is a new type of biofeedback therapy. In the past, the "muscle tone" and "blood flow" were used as feedback signals in biofeedback therapy to treat tinnitus, however there was no long-term follow-up report. Instead, neurofeedback therapy utilizes EEG (electroencephalogram) as the feedback signal, which is also called EEG biofeedback therapy. At present, most treatments of tinnitus only record subjective measures of patients as evaluation indicators, whereas neurofeedback therapy is more convincing for using comprehensive evaluation including changes of brain wave as objective indicators and subjective measures of patients. A significant number of tinnitus patients have varying degree of hearing loss. As neurofeedback therapy takes advantage of EEG as feedback signal that is delivered to the patients through visual information, it has unique advantages of being not affected by the degree of hearing loss compared to the sound masking or other sound treatment. Long-term follow-up results showed that the efficacy of neurofeedback therapy was stable after half a year of short-term treatment. This paper summarizes the progress of the various types of biofeedback therapy in the treatment of tinnitus, and focuses on the neurofeedback therapy for the mechanism, indication, process, efficacy evaluation, defect and prospect of neurofeedback therapy in tinnitus treatment in order to help promote the development of domestic clinical neurofeedback therapy in tinnitus.

Abstract
Objective: To construct a dynamic enhanced MR based predictive model for early assessing pathological complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant therapy in breast cancer, and to evaluate the clinical benefit of the model by using decision curve. Methods: From December 2005 to December 2007, 170 patients with breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant therapy were identified and their MR images before neoadjuvant therapy and at the end of the first cycle of neoadjuvant therapy were collected. Logistic regression model was used to detect independent factors for predicting pCR and construct the predictive model accordingly, then receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and decision curve were used to evaluate the predictive model. Results: ΔArea(max) and Δslope(max) were independent predictive factors for pCR, OR=0.942 (95%CI: 0.918-0.967) and 0.961 (95%CI: 0.940-0.987), respectively. The area under ROC curve (AUC) for the constructed model was 0.886 (95%CI: 0.820-0.951). Decision curve showed that in the range of the threshold probability above 0.4, the predictive model presented increased net benefit as the threshold probability increased. Conclusions: The constructed predictive model for pCR is of potential clinical value, with an AUC>0.85. Meanwhile, decision curve analysis indicates the constructed predictive model has net benefit from 3 to 8 percent in the likely range of probability threshold from 80% to 90%.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate gray matter structure changes in long-term male smokers by voxel-based morphological method. Methods: Fifty long-term smokers and 37 non-smoking healthy volunteers were scanned with Siemens Skyro 3.0T magnetic resonance scanner from August 2014 to August 2016. The subjects underwent routine MRI (excluding intracranial lesions) sequences and 3D-T1 structural sequences (3D-mprage). SPM8 pretreatment based on Matlab was used to analyze the structural data. All of the data were analyzed by SPM8 software. The data were compared between groups with independent sample t test. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between gray matter volume (GMV) and smoking data of two groups. Results: The gray matter volume of bilateral thalamic, right supramarginal gyrus, left supramarginal gyrus and left putamen of smoking group were (0.55±0.07), (0.40±0.05), (0.48±0.07) and (0.14±0.04) voxels, respectively, and the gray matter volume of the corresponding gyri in control group were (0.61±0.09), (0.43±0.06), (0.54±0.07) and (0.16±0.03) voxels, respectively; and the gray matter volume of smoking group were all lower than those in control group (t=-3.81, -3.51, -3.86, -2.33, all P<0.05), family wise error (FWE) correction (P<0.05). The gray matter volume of bilateral thalamus, right supramarginal gyrus and left putamen was negatively correlated with smoking index (r=-0.368, -0.189, -0.274, all P<0.05), and also negatively correlated with smoking years (r=-0.391, -0.221, -0.355, all P<0.05), and bilateral thalamus gray matter volume was negatively correlated with daily cigarette smoking (r=-0.186, P<0.05). Conclusion: The changes of brain structure of smokers mainly occur on reward-related pathways and marginal systems, and related to accumulation of cigarette smoking.

Abstract
A cell line ZBE3 isolated from a continuous cell culture derived from zebrafish Danio rerio blastomeres by clonal growth was characterized. ZBE3 cells had been subcultured for >120 passages since the initial primary culture of the blastomeres. The ZBE3 cells grow stably at temperature from 20 to 32° C with an optimum temperature of 28° C in ESM2 or ESM4 medium with 15% foetal bovine serum (FBS). The optimum FBS concentration for ZBE3 cell growth ranged from 15 to 20%. Cytogenetical analysis indicated that the modal chromosome number of ZBE3 cells was 50, the same as the diploid chromosome number of D. rerio. Significant cytopathic effect was observed in ZBE3 cells after infection with redspotted grouper nervous necrosis virus, Singapore grouper iridovirus and grass carp reovirus, and the viral replication in the cells was confirmed by real-time quantitative PCR and transmission electron microscopy, indicating the susceptibility of ZBE3 cells to the three fish viruses. After transfected with pEGFP-N3 plasmid, ZBE3 cells showed a transfection efficiency of about 40% which was indicated by the percentage of cells expressing green fluorescence protein. The stable growth, susceptibility to fish viruses as well as high transfection efficiency make ZBE3 cells be a useful tool in transgenic manipulation, fish virus-host cell interaction and immune response in fish.

JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOACTIVITY 2017; 175-176:1-6. Abstract
In this study, nanoscale zero valent iron I-NZVI was investigated as a remediation strategy for uranium contaminated groundwater from the former Cimarron Fuel Fabrication Site in Oklahoma, USA. The 1 L batch-treatment system was applied in the study. The result shows that 99.9% of uranium in groundwater was removed by I-NZVI within 2 h. Uranium concentration in the groundwater stayed around 27 μg/L, and there was no sign of uranium release into groundwater after seven days of reaction time. Meanwhile the release of iron was significantly decreased compared to NZVI which can reduce the treatment impact on the water environment. To study the influence of background pH of the treatment system on removal efficiency of uranium, the groundwater was adjusted from pH 2-10 before the addition of I-NZVI. The pH of the groundwater was from 2.1 to 10.7 after treatment. The removal efficiency of uranium achieved a maximum in neutral pH of groundwater. The desorption of uranium on the residual solid phase after treatment was investigated in order to discuss the stability of uranium on residual solids. After 2 h of leaching, 0.07% of the total uranium on residual solid phase was leached out in a HNO3 leaching solution with a pH of 4.03. The concentration of uranium in the acid leachate was under 3.2 μg/L which is below the EPA's maximum contaminant level of 30 μg/L. Otherwise, the concentration of uranium was negligible in distilled water leaching solution (pH = 6.44) and NaOH leaching solution (pH = 8.52). A desorption study shows that an acceptable amount of uranium on the residuals can be released into water system under strong acid conditions in short terms. For long term disposal management of the residual solids, the leachate needs to be monitored and treated before discharge into a hazardous landfill or the water system. For the first time, I-NZVI was applied for the treatment of uranium contaminated groundwater. These results provide proof that I-NZVI has improved performance compared to NZVI and is a promising technology for the restoration of complex uranium contaminated water resources.
