Abstract
Cyclophilins (CyPs) are a family of proteins that bind the immunosuppressive agent cyclosporin A (CsA) with high-affinity and belong to one of the three superfamilies of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerases (PPIase). In this report, three cyclophilin genes (Ca-CyPs), including Ca-CyPA, Ca-CyPB and Ca-PPIL3, were identified from oyster, Crassostrea ariakensis Gould in which Ca-CyPA encodes a protein with 165 amino acid sequences, Ca-CyPB encodes a protein with 217 amino acid sequences and Ca-PPIL3 encodes a protein with 162 amino acid sequences. All of the three Ca-CyPs genes contain a typical CyP-PPIase domain with its signature sequences and Ca-CyPB contains an N-signal peptide sequences. Tissue distribution study revealed that Ca-CyPs were ubiquitously expressed in all examined tissues and the highest levels were observed in hemocytes. RLO incubation upregulated the mRNA expression levels of Ca-CyPs, indicating that three Ca-CyPs might be involved in oyster immune response against RLO infection.

Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel manipulated rotating polarization switched quadrature phase shift keying (MR-PS-QPSK) technique, and corresponding correlated constant modulus algorithm (CMA) for signal recovery. The latter utilizes the correlation between the PS-QPSK symbols in the two polarizations to lock the phase of output signals. Then the signals in the two polarizations are merged according to the recovered switching bit, which suppresses the noise and simplifies the subsequent process. A field programmable gate array (FPGA) based real-time platform is built for experimental demonstration. The experimental results show that the proposed MR-PS-QPSK modulation format with correlated CMA can provide 3.2 dB optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) improvement over dual-polarization QPSK (DP-QPSK) at back-to-back case and 3.8 dB OSNR improvement after fiber transmission at the same symbol rate, which corresponds to be about 2 dB OSNR improvement at the same bit rate. The resource consumption analysis in FPGA digital signal processing blocks and logic utilizations shows that the MR-PS-QPSK with correlated CMA only requires a small additional computational effort.

Abstract
Abstract
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) has been shown to promote mammary tumorigenesis, lung metastasis and the maintenance of cancer stem cells in the MMTV-PyMT breast cancer model. Using mammary epithelial cell (MaEC)-specific FAK knockout and kinase-defective (KD) knockin mouse models, we recently demonstrated that loss of FAK kinase activity in MaECs specifically impaired luminal progenitor proliferation and alveologenesis, whereas FAK kinase-independent function was sufficient to support ductal invasion and basal mammary stem cell activity. To further elucidate this kinase-independent role of FAK in mammary tumorigenesis and lung metastasis, we established and analyzed three cohorts of PyMT mice expressing wild type FAK (Ctl-MT), KD-FAK (cKD-MT) and FAK-null (cKO-MT) in MaECs. This study revealed that both FAK deletion and KD knockin mutation in MaECs significantly suppressed mammary tumorigenesis and the content of stem-like tumor cells (CD24+CD29+CD61+). However, in contrast to cKO-MT mice that displayed diminished metastatic nodule formation in the lungs, loss of FAK kinase activity by KD knockin mutation did not affect lung metastatic nodule formation. Using a Boyden chamber assay, we further demonstrated that, unlike cKO-MT tumor cells that displayed diminished cell migration induced by fibronectin or TGFβ1 (as compared to Ctl-MT tumor cells), cKD-MT tumor cells exhibited strong fibronectin-, but not TGFβ1-induced migratory activity. Immunofluorescence of primary tumor sections also revealed that both Ctl-MT and cKD-MT tumors displayed strong ERK activation at tumor periphery, whereas cKO-MT tumors had weak ERK activation in this region. Lastly, when treated with or without paclitaxel in culture, we found that paclitaxel was able to induce strong expression of cleaved caspase 3 and p21 in cKO-MT but not Ctl-MT and cKD-MT tumor cells, suggesting a role for FAK kinase-independent function in the suppression of p21 expression and protection of apoptosis. Together, this study strongly implicates a role for FAK kinase-independent function in promoting lung metastasis.

Abstract
Soluble receptor for advanced glycation end-products (sRAGE) acts as a decoy to prevent interaction between RAGE and its pro-inflammatory ligands. sRAGE levels have been found to decrease in chronic inflammatory diseases, including hypertension. However, few data have been reported concerning the association between serum sRAGE levels and hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Fasting blood samples were obtained from 209 essential hypertensive patients, and sRAGE levels were measured using a commercially available double-sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. All patients underwent complete transthoracic echocardiographic examination. LVH was defined as a left ventricular mass index >115 g/m(2) for men and >95 g/m(2) for women. Eighty-one hypertensive patients (38.76%) were categorized in the LVH(+) group. Age (P = 0.009), hypertension duration (P = 0.013), triglyceride levels (P = 0.028), and systolic blood pressure (P = 0.026) were higher, and sRAGE and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were lower in the LVH(+) group compared with the LVH(-) group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that sRAGE level [odds ratio (OR) = 0.916; 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.864-0.984; P = 0.003], hypertension duration (OR = 1.024; 95%CI = 1.003-1.052; P = 0.027), and triglyceride level (OR = 1.017; 95%CI = 1.005-1.039; P = 0.018) were independent predictors of LVH in hypertensive patients. In conclusion, serum sRAGE level was inversely associated with LVH in hypertensive patients.

Abstract
Background Radiological outcomes between anterior and posterior approach in Lenke 5C curves were still controversial. Meta-analysis on published articles to compare fusion segments and radiological outcomes between the two surgical approaches was performed. Methods Electronic database was conducted for searching studies concerning the anterior versus posterior approach in Lenke 5C curves. After quality assessment, data of means, standard deviations, and sample sizes were extracted. RevMan 5.3 was adopted for data analysis. Results Seven case-control studies involving 308 Lenke 5C AIS patients were identified in the meta-analysis. No significant differences were noted in correction rate of thoracolumbar/lumbar curve (95 % CI −6.02 to 4.32, P = 0.75) and incidence of proximal junctional kyphosis (95 % CI 0.12 to 7.19, P = 0.94) of final follow-up, in change values of thoracolumbar/lumbar curve (95 % CI −3.28 to 7.19, P = 0.46) and thoracic kyphosis (95 % CI −4.10 to 0.13, P = 0.07). The anterior approach represented a significant shorter fusion segments compared to posterior approach (95 % CI −1.72 to −0.71, P < 0.00001). The posterior approach obtained a larger increasing Cobb angle of lumbar lordosis than the anterior approach (95 % CI −6.06 to −0.61, P = 0.02). Conclusions The anterior and posterior approach can obtain comparable coronal correction, change values of thoracic kyphosis, and incidence of proximal junctional kyphosis. The anterior approach saves approximate one more fusion segment, and the posterior approach can obtain a larger increasing Cobb angle of lumbar lordosis, from preoperation to final follow-up. Trial registration The article type of this study is meta-analysis and prospective registration is not required.

Abstract
Pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) is a potentially life-threatening disease in many parts of the world, especially in Asia. The aim of this study was to quantify the proportion of common pathogens in patients with PLA in China, using a meta-analysis method based on systematic review of published studies. Several electronic databases were searched to identify the studies reporting the pathogens of PLA. We performed a meta-analysis to calculate the pooled proportion of pathogens and subgroup analysis among the included studies using R 3.1.1 software. In total, 183 studies were included in our final analysis, Klebsiella spp (54 %), Escherichia spp (29 %), Enterobacter spp (9 %), Proteus spp (6 %) and Pseudomonas spp (5 %) comprised the major gram-negative bacteria. Gram-positive bacteria mainly included Staphylococcus spp (13 %), Streptococcus spp (8 %) and Enterococcus spp (7 %). The distribution of pathogens in PLA patients were different in different economic regions in China. The proportion of Klebsiella spp had an upward tendency in recent years compared to other pathogens. In addition, the proportion of common pathogens in PLA patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) were carried out indicating that the dominant pathogens were Klebsiella spp (66 %), Escherichia spp (21 %) and Enterobacter spp (11 %). This meta-analysis showed that the main pathogens of PLA were Klebsiella spp, Escherichia spp, Staphylococcus spp, and Enterobacter spp in China. To ensure a precise estimate of the epidemiology of the pathogens, further large-scale or even a population-based study is needed.

Abstract
Mutagenesis continues to play an essential role for understanding plant gene function and, in some instances, provides an opportunity for plant improvement. The development of gene editing technologies such as TALENs and zinc fingers has revolutionised the targeted mutation specificity that can now be achieved. The CRISPR/Cas9 system is the most recent addition to gene editing technologies and arguably the simplest requiring only two components; a small guide RNA molecule (sgRNA) and Cas9 endonuclease protein which complex to recognise and cleave a specific 20 bp target site present in a genome. Target specificity is determined by complementary base pairing between the sgRNA and target site sequence enabling highly specific, targeted mutation to be readily engineered. Upon target site cleavage, error-prone endogenous repair mechanisms produce small insertion/deletions at the target site usually resulting in loss of gene function. CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing has been rapidly adopted in plants and successfully undertaken in numerous species including major crop species. Its applications are not restricted to mutagenesis and target site cleavage can be exploited to promote sequence insertion or replacement by recombination. The multiple applications of this technology in plants are described.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) complicated by portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) is associated with poor prognosis, early recurrence of HCC, and limited treatment options. Current guidelines do not have standardized diagnostic and treatment modalities, thus creating a need for a multidisciplinary treatment model for standardization of the treatment. Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgical Hospital (China) convened two working parties of experts from all the departments, to consolidate the current evidence, prevailing vision for the future, and experience of the practicing clinicians engaged in HCC management, so as to develop a consensus for PVTT diagnosis and treatment according to the GRADE system. Based on the quality of the existing evidence and the strength of recommendations, the consensus statements were categorized into 3 evidence levels (A/B/C) and 5 classes (I/II/IIa/IIb/III).The panel discussed and provided clarity on the management and research options in the field of HCC with PVTT. In addition, the panel also assessed the quality of the cited studies and assigned grades to the recommendation statements. Among the group of experts, there was excellent agreement with regard to effective diagnosis and treatment of HCC with PVTT. The recommendations of this consensus will provide guidance to physicians and clinical researchers on the effective management of HCC with PVTT.

Abstract
Background The prevalence of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is increasing worldwide. Currently, there is no effective treatment for PAD. Curcumin is an ingredient of turmeric that has antioxidant, anti-inflammation, and anticancer properties. In the present study we investigated the potential effect of curcumin in protecting against ischemic limb injury. Material/Methods We used an established hindlimb ischemia mouse model in our study. Curcumin was administrated through intraperitoneal (I.P.) injection. Immunohistochemical staining and ELISA assays were performed. Treadmill training was used to evaluate skeletal muscle functions of animals. Results Our experiments using in vivo treadmill training showed that curcumin treatment improved the running capacity of animals after ischemic injury. Histological analysis revealed that curcumin treatment significantly reduced the skeletal muscle damage and fibrosis associated with ischemic injury. In order to determine the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying curcumin-mediated tissue protection, immunohistochemical staining and ELISA assays were performed. The results showed that curcumin treatment led to less macrophage infiltration and less local inflammatory responses as demonstrated by decreasing TNF-α, IL-1, and IL-6 levels. Further immunofluorescent staining of tissue slides indicated that curcumin treatment inhibited the NF-κB signaling pathway. Finally, curcumin can inhibit NF-κB activation induced by LPS in macrophages. Conclusions Our study results show that curcumin treatment can ameliorate hindlimb injury following ischemic surgery, which suggests that curcumin could be used for PAD treatment.

Abstract
A cost-effective structure is proposed for the optical network unit (ONU) transceivers in coherent ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (UDWDM-PON), which is based on a single directly modulated laser (DML). This is the first time that a DML is used as both optical transmitter in upstream and local oscillator (LO) for coherent detection in downstream. The impact of extinction ratio (ER) of signal from DML is investigated and optimized by adapting the driving amplitude and bias of DML. Each UDWDM grid accommodates a pair of bi-directional signal, where heterodyne detection is used due to the Rayleigh backscattering (RB) from the bi-directional transmission. The impact of frequency offset (FO) between upstream and downstream signal is also investigated. Finally, 2.5-Gb/s bi-directional transmission of OOK signal over 60-km SSMF is experimentally demonstrated within the 12.5-GHz grid, achieving about -43 and -45.5 dBm receiver sensitivity in the downstream and upstream, respectively.

Abstract
Using in-depth interview data on nominal marriages - legal marriages between a gay man and a lesbian to give the appearance of heterosexuality - this paper develops the concept of performative family to explain the processes through which parents and their adult children negotiate and resolve disagreements in relation to marriage decisions in post-socialist China. We identify three mechanisms - network pressure, a revised discourse of filial piety and resource leverage - through which parents influence their gay offspring's decision to turn to nominal marriage. We also delineate six strategies, namely minimizing network participation, changing expectations, making partial concessions, drawing the line, delaying decisions and ending the marriage, by which gay people in nominal marriages attempt to meet parental expectations while simultaneously retaining a degree of autonomy. Through these interactions, we argue that Chinese parents and their gay adult children implicitly and explicitly collaborate to perform family, emphasizing the importance of formally meeting society's expectations about marriage rather than substantively yielding to its demands. We also argue that the performative family is a pragmatic response to the tension between the persistent centrality of family and marriage and the rising tide of individualism in post-socialist China. We believe that our findings highlight the specific predicament of homosexual people. They also shed light on the more general dynamics of intergenerational negotiation because there is evidence that the mechanisms used by parents to exert influence may well be similar between gay and non-gay people.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of hypertension among residents in Pengzhou city of Sichuan province. METHODS Among 20 townships in Pengzhou city of Sichuan Province, 14 townships were selected using a clustered sampling based on the economic level and distance. The registered residents in the selected townships aged 30-79 years were recruited for a comprehensive survey from 2004 to 2007. A total of 55 687 residents (21 315 males and 34 372 females) were selected based on a face to face questionnaire interview and physical examination; the patient group included 14 151 residents with hypertension and the control group had 41 536 residents without hypertension were selected. Multivariate logistic regression model was used to investigate the influence factors for hypertension. OR (95%CI) values were calculated. Different levels of risk exposure factors were transformed into the risk scores using a statistical model. RESULTS The prevalence rate of hypertension was 25.41% among residents aged 30 years or above in Pengzhou (14 151/55 687), 28.95% (6 170/21 315) for male residents and 23.22% (7 981/34 372) for female residents. Multivaraite logistic regression analysis showed that main risk factors for hypertension in male residents were age, low educational level, widower, low household income, no medical insurance, no fresh fruits intake, high body mass index (BMI), high waist to hip ratio, and low physical activity, which was less than 3 metabolic equivalent of task (MET) level, among which the highest three riskswere (not including the social demographic characteristics) BMI≥28 kg/m(2), waist to hip ratio ≥0.90, and not consuming fresh fruits. OR (95% CI) values for these three key factors were 3.74 (3.27-4.28), 1.34 (1.24-1.44), and 1.27 (1.14-1.41), respectively. The corresponding risk scores for these factors were 2.993, 1.102, and 1.237, respectively. Main risk factors for hypertension in female residents were age, working hours, no medical insurance, fewer number of family members, no fresh fruits intake, smoking, never drinking tea, no dairy products intake, high BMI, highwaist to hip ratio and low physical activity, among which the highest three risks were (not including the social demographic characteristics) BMI ≥28 kg/m(2), MET level, and waist to hip ratio ≥0.85. OR (95% CI) values for these three key factors were 3.30 (3.02-3.60), 1.35 (1.22-1.51), and 1.33 (1.23-1.44), respectively. The corresponding risk scores for these factors were 2.390, 1.263, and 1.051, respectively. CONCLUSION The prevalence rate of hypertension among the residents over 30 years of age in Pengzhou city was 25.41%. The main risk factors were age, not consuming fresh fruits, high BMI, high waist to hip ratio, and low MET level.

Abstract
We propose and experimentally demonstrate two independent component analysis (ICA) based channel equalizers (CEs) for 6 × 6 MIMO-OFDM transmission over few-mode fiber. Compared with the conventional channel equalizer based on training symbols (TSs-CE), the proposed two ICA-based channel equalizers (ICA-CE-I and ICA-CE-II) can achieve comparable performances, while requiring much less training symbols. Consequently, the overheads for channel equalization can be substantially reduced from 13.7% to 0.4% and 2.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, we also experimentally investigate the convergence speed of the proposed ICA-based CEs.

Abstract
We simulated the high-altitude smoke plume from the early February 2009 Black Saturday bushfires in southeastern Australia using the NASA GISS ModelE2. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first single-plume analysis of biomass burning emissions injected directly into the upper-troposphere/lower stratosphere (UTLS) using a full-complexity composition-climate model. We compared simulated carbon monoxide (CO) to a new Aura TES/MLS joint CO retrieval, focusing on the plume's initial transport eastward, anticyclonic circulation to the north of New Zealand, westward transport in the lower stratospheric easterlies, and arrival over Africa at the end of February. Our goal was to determine the sensitivity of the simulated plume to prescribed injection height, emissions amount and emissions timing from different sources for a full complexity model when compared to Aura. The most realistic plumes were obtained using injection heights in the UTLS, including one drawn from ground-based radar data. A six-hour emissions pulse or emissions tied to independent estimates of hourly fire behavior produced a more realistic plume in the lower stratosphere compared to the same emissions amount being released evenly over 12 or 24-hours. Simulated CO in the plume was highly sensitive to the differences between emissions amounts estimated from the Global Fire Emissions Database and from detailed, ground-based estimates of fire growth. The emissions amount determined not only the CO concentration of the plume, but the proportion of the plume that entered the stratosphere. We speculate that this is due to either or both non-linear CO loss with a weakened OH sink, or plume self-lofting driven by shortwave absorption of the co-emitted aerosols.

Abstract
We report in this work the first all-optical wavelength conversion (AOWC) of a mode division multiplexed (MDM) superchannel consisting of 2N modes by dividing the superchannel into N single-mode (SM) tributaries, wavelength converting N SM signals using well developed SM-AOWC techniques, and finally combining the N SM tributaries back to an MDM superchannel at the converted wavelength, inspired by the idea of using SM filtering techniques to filter multimode signals in astronomy. The conversions between multimode and SM are realized by 3D laser-writing photonic lanterns and SM-AOWCs are realized based on polarization insensitive four wave mixing (FWM) configuration in N semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). As a proof of concept demonstration, the conversion of a 6-mode MDM superchannel with each mode modulated with orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK)/16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals is demonstrated in this work, indicating that the scheme is transparent to data format, polarization and compatible with multi-carrier signals. Data integrity of the converted superchannel has been verified by using coherent detection and digital signal processing (DSP). Bit error rates (BERs) below the forward error correction (FEC) hard limit (3.8 × 10-3) have been obtained for QPSK modulation at a net bitrate of 104.2 Gbit/s and BERs below the soft decision FEC threshold (1.98 × 10-2) have been achieved for 16-QAM format, giving a total aggregate bit rate of 185.8 Gbit/s when taking 20% coding overhead into account. Add and drop functionalities that usually come along with wavelength conversion in flexible network nodes have also been demonstrated. The working conditions of the SOAs, especially the pump and signal power levels, are critical for the quality of the converted signal and have been thoroughly discussed. The impact of imbalanced FWM conversion efficiency among different SM tributaries has also been analyzed. This work illustrates a promising way to perform all-optical signal processing for MDM superchannels.

Low-Dose Sevoflurane May Reduce Blood Loss and Need for Blood Products After Cardiac Surgery: A Prospective, Randomized Pilot Study. Medicine (Baltimore) 2016; 95:e3424. Abstract
Patients undergoing cardiac surgery often experience abnormal bleeding, due primarily to cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)-induced activation of platelets. Sevoflurane may inhibit platelet activation, raising the possibility that administering it during CPB may reduce blood loss.Patients between 18 and 65 years old who were scheduled for cardiac surgery under CPB at our hospital were prospectively enrolled and randomized to receive intravenous anesthetics alone (control group, n = 77) or together with sevoflurane (0.5-1.0 vol/%) from an oxygenator (sevoflurane group, n = 76). The primary outcome was postoperative blood loss, the secondary outcome was postoperative need for blood products.Volume of blood loss was 48% lower in the sevoflurane group than the control group at 4 hours after surgery, and 33% lower at 12 hours after surgery. Significantly fewer patients in the sevoflurane group lost >700 mL blood within 24 hours (9 of 76 vs 28 of 77, P < 0.001). As a result, the sevoflurane group received significantly smaller volumes of packed red blood cells (1.25 ± 2.36 vs 2.23 ± 3.75 units, P = 0.011) and fresh frozen plasma (97 ± 237 vs 236 ± 344 mL, P = 0.004). Thus the sevoflurane group was at significantly lower risk of requiring complex blood products after surgery (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 0.34, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.17-0.68, P = 0.002).Sevoflurane inhalation from an oxygenator during CPB may reduce blood loss and need for blood products after cardiac surgery.

Abstract
A compact external cavity tunable laser based on a silicon hybrid micro-ring resonator is demonstrated. A theoretical model is also employed for design and analysis of the wavelength tuning performance of the device. In this model, the gain section of the device is simulated by a conventional multimode rate equation model, whereas all rest passive sections are modeled by the frequency domain method. Experimental results have shown that the output power of this device can reach 29 mW, with a linewidth less than 150 kHz. The tuning range is more than 17 nm in C-band with 60 dB side-mode-suppression-ratio (SMSR). This device shows a comparable performance with the commercial narrow linewidth laser as the source in coherent transmission systems.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We sought to investigate effects of supervised exercise training on left ventricular remodeling, left ventricular function and autonomic nervous system of hypertensive patients without medication. METHODS Fifty borderline and mildly hypertensive patients were enrolled and randomly divided into 2 groups (25 in each). Exercise group received a 4 months' exercise program, prescribed according to their first cardiopulmonary exercise tests, while the control group received routine dietary recommendation. All patients underwent noradrenalin assay, cardiopulmonary exercise tests and echocardiographic studies at enrollment and 4 month follow-up. RESULTS At baseline no statistically difference between the two groups were observed in clinical characteristics, echographic variants or cardiopulmonary test index. Four months later, exercise group showed higher values of VO2peak, Powermax (max workload), AT (anaerobic threshold), VO2AT (VO2 at anaerobic threshold), tAT (time from beginning to anaerobic threshold) and heart rate recovery compared to the control group (P<0.05). Additionally, systolic/diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly in the exercise group compared to the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, there was significant reduction in left ventricular mass index in the exercise group (P<0.01), and there was also an inverse correlation between changes in left ventricular mass index and heart rate recovery (r=-0.52, P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS Four-month exercise training in borderline and mildly hypertensive patients not only decreased their blood pressure levels, but also induced an improvement of exercise capability, left ventricular remodeling and heart rate recovery. Heart rate recovery improvement was significantly associated with decrease of left ventricular mass index, which indicated that favorable adjustment in autonomic nervous system of exercise training might be an important pathway to reverse left ventricular remodeling.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the differential proteomic profiles of the plasma in patients with chronic hepatitis B presenting with damp-heat retention syndrome and liver stagnation-spleen deficiency syndrome. METHODS Two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) were used to identify the differentially expressed proteins in the plasma of patients with chronic hepatitis B. RESULTS The numbers of plasma proteins detected in healthy volunteers, patients with damp-heat retention syndrome, and patients with liver stagnation-spleen deficiency syndrome were 278±16, 320±14 and 343±19, respectively. Seven differential protein spots were successfully identified by mass spectrum, and were classified into immunological proteins, inflammatory proteins, and lipid metabolism-related proteins. CONCLUSION In patients with chronic hepatitis B, the multiple differential proteins between damp-heat retention syndrome and liver stagnation-spleen deficiency syndrome suggests the diverse molecular basis of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes, and they might be the molecular tags for different syndromes of the same disease.
