Abstract
Multiple sclerosis (MS) was defined as a rare disease in China due to its low prevalence. For a long time, interferon β was the only approved disease-modifying therapy (DMT). Since the first oral DMT was approved in 2018, DMT approval accelerated, and seven DMTs were approved within 5 years. With an increasing number of DMTs being prescribed in clinical practice, it is necessary to discuss the standardized MS treatment algorithms depending on the disease activity and DMT availability. In this review paper, more than 20 Chinese experts in MS have reviewed the therapeutic progress of MS in China and worldwide and discussed algorithms for treating relapsing MS (RMS) based on the available DMTs in China, providing insights for establishing the standardized RMS treatment algorithms in this country.

Abstract
As an effective method to modulate the physicochemical properties of materials, crystal phase engineering, especially hetero-phase, plays an important role in developing high-performance photocatalysts. However, it is still a huge challenge but significant to construct porous hetero-phase nanostructures with adjustable band structures. As a kind of unique porous crystalline materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) might be the appropriate candidate, but the MOF-based hetero-phase is rarely reported. Herein, we developed a secondary building unit (SBU) regulating strategy to prepare two crystal phases of Ti-MOFs constructed by titanium and 1,4-dicarboxybenzene, i.e., COK and MIL-125. Besides, COK/MIL-125 hetero-phase was further constructed. In the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction, COK/MIL-125 possessed the highest H2 yield compared to COK and MIL-125, ascribing to the Z-Scheme homojunction at hetero-phase interface. Furthermore, by decorating with amino groups (i.e., NH2-COK/NH2-MIL-125), the light absorbing capacity was broadened to visible-light region, and the visible-light-driven H2 yield was greatly improved. Briefly, the MOF-based hetero-phase possesses periodic channel structures and molecularly adjustable band structures, which is scarce in traditional organic or inorganic materials. As a proof of concept, our work not only highlights the development of MOF-based hetero-phase nanostructures, but also paves a novel avenue for designing high-performance photocatalysts.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS We aimed to explore the effect of PCSK9 inhibitor based on the background of statin on carotid intraplaque neovascularization (IPN) assessed by serial contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) analysis in Chinese patients with premature coronary artery disease (PCAD). METHODS 41 patients were included to receive treatments with biweekly evolocumab (n = 22) or placebo (n = 19) in addition to statin therapy for 52 weeks. All patients were newly diagnosed with PCAD and treatments were initiated at baseline of the observations. Baseline and 52-week CEUS were acquired to measure the max plaque height (MPH) and IPN. The primary outcome was the 52-week IPN changes, the secondary endpoints included the 52-week MPH changes and major adverse cardiovascular events. RESULTS The mean ± SD age of the participants was 46.76 ± 8.56 years, and 61% (25/41) of patients were on statins before the start of the study. There was no statistically significant difference in the history of statins treatment and the initiated lipid-lowering therapy of atorvastatin and rosuvastatin between groups (p > 0.05). At 52 weeks, the evolocumab group showed a lower LDL level (0.84 ± 0.45 mmol/L vs. 1.58 ± 0.51 mmol/L, p < 0.001) and a greater decrease in percent reduction of LDL-C level (-65% vs. -32%) and a higher percent of achieving lipid-lowering target (95% vs. 53%, p < 0.05) compared with the placebo group. At 52 weeks, IPN (evolocumab group: 0.50 ± 0.60 vs. 1.50 ± 0.80, p < 0.001; placebo group: 0.79 ± 0.54 vs. 1.26 ± 0.65, p < 0.05) and MPH (evolocumab group: 2.01 ± 0.44 mm vs. 2.57 ± 0.90 mm, p < 0.05, placebo group: 2.21 ± 0.58 mm vs. 2.92 ± 0.86 mm, p < 0.05) reduced significantly in both groups from baseline to 52-week follow-up. IPN and MPH were decreased by both treatments. Still, there was no significant difference in delta (52 weeks - baseline) MPH by an ANOVA analysis between the two groups [evolocumab group: -0.56 mm (2.01 mm-2.57 mm); placebo group: -0.71 mm (2.21 mm-2.92 mm), p > 0.05]. In the evolocumab group, the change in the mean reduction of IPN from baseline [-1.00 (0.50-1.50) vs. -0.47 (0.79-1.26), p < 0.05] and the incidence of patients with carotid IPN decrease were significantly greater reduction (90% vs. 58%, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS If compared to placebo, the PCSK9 inhibitor evolocumab combined with statins resulted in a greater decrease in LDL-C and plaque neovascularization in Chinese patients with PCAD.

Abstract
A life-threatening illness that poses a serious threat to human health is myocardial infarction. It may result in a significant number of myocardial cells dying, dilated left ventricles, dysfunctional heart function, and ultimately cardiac failure. Based on the development of emerging biomaterials and the lack of clinical treatment methods and cardiac donors for myocardial infarction, hydrogels with good compatibility have been gradually applied to the treatment of myocardial infarction. Specifically, based on the three processes of pathophysiology of myocardial infarction, we summarized various types of hydrogels designed for myocardial tissue engineering in recent years, including natural hydrogels, intelligent hydrogels, growth factors, stem cells, and microRNA-loaded hydrogels. In addition, we also describe the heart patch and preparation techniques that promote the repair of MI heart function. Although most of these hydrogels are still in the preclinical research stage and lack of clinical trials, they have great potential for further application in the future. It is expected that this review will improve our knowledge of and offer fresh approaches to treating myocardial infarction.

Abstract
Poor eggshell quality of eggs laid by aged laying hens is the major problem affecting the length of the rearing period in the laying hen industry. Trace elements are required and play vital roles in the eggshell quality of laying hens. Appropriate dose of organic microelements is environmentally friendly and sufficient to satisfy the needs of hens because of their greater bioavailability and lower excretion than inorganic forms. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effects of manganese (Mn) glycine (MG) on eggshell quality, elemental deposition, and eggshell ultrastructure in aged laying hens. A total of 720 Hy-Line Brown hens 70 weeks old were assigned equally to four groups with six replicates of 30 birds each. The hens were fed basal diets (without Mn supplementation) supplemented with 120 mg/kg of Mn from manganese sulfate monohydrate (MSM), or 40, 80, or 120 mg/kg Mn from MG for 12 weeks. Dietary supplementation with 80 mg/kg Mn from MG resulted in the greatest eggshell strength after 6 weeks of treatment (P = 0.047), and in greater eggshell strength than observed in the MSM control after 12 weeks of treatment (P = 0.025). After 12 weeks of treatment, the eggs of hens in the MG groups showed lower mammillary layer thickness in the blunt end, equator, and acute end than observed in the MSM control group (P < 0.001). With the exception of the blunt ends of eggs from hens in the 120 mg/kg MG group, the eggs of hens in the MG groups, compared with the MSM control group, exhibited a lower mammillary layer ratio, and greater palisade layer ratio and effective layer ratio in the blunt end, equator, and acute end (P < 0.001). Dietary supplementation with 80 mg/kg Mn from MG, compared with the MSM control and 40 and 120 mg/kg MG, resulted in the greatest palisade layer thickness and effective layer thickness, and the lowest mammillary layer thickness in the equator (P < 0.001, P = 0.001, P < 0.001, respectively). Furthermore, supplementation with 80 mg/kg Mn from MG exhibited the greatest ratio of the palisade layer and effective layer, and the lowest mammillary layer ratio in the blunt end and equator (all P < 0.001). The Mn content of eggshells in hens-fed diets supplemented with 80 and 120 mg/kg Mn from MG was greater than that in the MSM control and 40 mg/kg MG groups (P = 0.035). Dietary supplementation with 80 or 120 mg/kg Mn from MG resulted in greater tibia Mn content than observed in the 40 mg/kg MG group (P = 0.019), and greater yolk Mn content than observed in the 40 mg/kg MG and MSM control groups (P = 0.018). In conclusion, dietary supplementation with 80 mg/kg Mn from MG, compared with the MSM control (120 mg/kg Mn), may increase the deposition efficiency of Mn, alter eggshell elemental composition, improve eggshell ultrastructure, and enhance eggshell strength in aged laying hens.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aims of this study were to describe the national distribution of depressive symptoms in Chinese children and adolescents, to examine the determinants of depressive symptoms at individual, school and province levels and to assess the gender and age differences in the effect of school factors on depressive symptoms. STUDY DESIGN This was a national cross-sectional study. METHODS A school-based online survey was conducted in mainland China from between December 1, 2021, and January 1, 2022. A total of 398,520 eligible participants were included in the analysis. School-level data were drawn from students, headteachers and Baidu Maps, and province-level data were obtained from the national human development report. The Patient Health Questionnaire-2 was used to measure depressive symptoms. RESULTS Areas with the highest mean scores for depressive symptoms were in the northeastern, inner central and southwestern regions of China. At the individual level, younger age, male sex, being an only child, Han ethnicity, lower body mass index, more days of exercise, less drinking and smoking behaviours, higher subjective family socio-economic status (SES) and popularity in school were related to fewer depressive symptoms; however, objective family SES and maternal education were not related to fewer depressive symptoms. The school-level variables of public status, psychological activities and psychological courses and province-level variable of higher Human Development Index were associated with fewer depressive symptoms. The effect of psychological courses and activities on depressive symptoms was greater in females. CONCLUSIONS The results showed multilevel factors related to depressive symptoms and emphasised the importance of implementing school-based psychological activities to ameliorate depressive symptoms in Chinese children and adolescents across age and gender.

Abstract
Myocardial infarction (MI) and its associated poor prognosis pose significant risks to human health. Nanomaterials hold great potential for the treatment of MI due to their targeted and controlled release properties, particularly biomimetic nanomaterials. The utilization of biomimetic strategies based on extracellular vesicles (EVs) and cell membranes will serve as the guiding principle for the development of nanomaterial therapy in the future. In this review, we present an overview of research progress on various exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells, cardiomyocytes, or induced pluripotent stem cells in the context of myocardial infarction (MI) therapy. These exosomes, utilized as cell-free therapies, have demonstrated the ability to enhance the efficacy of reducing the size of the infarcted area and preventing ischaemic reperfusion through mechanisms such as oxidative stress reduction, polarization modulation, fibrosis inhibition, and angiogenesis promotion. Moreover, EVs can exert cardioprotective effects by encapsulating therapeutic agents and can be engineered to specifically target the infarcted myocardium. Furthermore, we discuss the use of cell membranes derived from erythrocytes, stem cells, immune cells and platelets to encapsulate nanomaterials. This approach allows the nanomaterials to camouflage themselves as endogenous substances targeting the region affected by MI, thereby minimizing toxicity and improving biocompatibility. In conclusion, biomimetic nano-delivery systems hold promise as a potentially beneficial technology for MI treatment. This review serves as a valuable reference for the application of biomimetic nanomaterials in MI therapy and aims to expedite the translation of NPs-based MI therapeutic strategies into practical clinical applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bone metastasis (BM) is considered a poor prognostic factor of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Confusion exists regarding how to deal with RCC patients with bone-only metastasis. PATIENTS AND METHODS The clinical data of consecutive RCC patients with bone-only metastasis at Peking University Cancer Hospital between 2006 and 2018 were retrospectively collected and analyzed. RESULTS Fifty-four eligible patients were screened from an RCC database of 1,878 metastatic patients. After a median follow-up of 43.6 m, 61.1% of the patients were presented with progression of prior BM or new BM. The progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) was 16.2 m (95%CI: 11.4-21.0) and 65.2 m, respectively. For the 30 patients with oligo-metastasis (≤3 loci) and 24 ones with multiple-metastasis (>3 loci), the median OS was not reached and 42.0m (95%CI: 12.7-71.2) with statistical difference (P < 0.001). In the oligo-metastasis group, the median PFS of the 15 patients treated with local therapy and of the 13 patients treated with systemic therapy was 14.2 m (95%CI: 5.3-23.3) and 18.0 m (95%CI:15.4-20.6), respectively. In the multiple-metastasis group, the median PFS and OS of the 18 patients treated with systemic therapy was 16.6 m (95%CI: 7.5-25.7) and 63.9 m (95%CI: 21.8-106.0), respectively. Univariate analysis and multivariate analysis showed that the number of metastatic sites (oligo/multiple) and International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium (IMDC) score, RCC pathological subtype were significantly associated with prognosis (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION RCC patients with bone-only metastases have a favorable prognosis. The number of metastatic sites, IMDC, RCC pathological subtype could serve as survival predictors, which might provide clue of treatment modality.

Abstract
Due to the high risks of postoperative complications brought on by gastric cancer, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as a commonly used therapy, has exerted its vital role in postoperative recovery care. In this sense, this meta-analysis was conducted to explore the related documents about TCM's impact on gastric cancer postoperative recovery. During the research, we explored a total of 1549 results from databases PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science (WoS). Thirty-two clinical randomized trials (RCTs) were then selected and analysed for this meta-analysis by using the software RevMan 5.4 (under PRISMA 2020 regulations), with a population of 3178 patients. Data prove that TCM therapy reduced the risks for postoperative complications exposure by an estimated average of 19% (95% CI). Among the complications, TCM therapy suppressed the risks of wound infection and incisional infections by 53% and 48% respectively. Meanwhile, the patient's wound healing duration exhibited a significant reduction compared to those without TCM treatment, with a difference at around 0.74 days (95% CI). TCM also exerted its potential to strengthen the patient's immune and health conditions, leading to a significantly promoted gastrointestinal function in the patients with a shorter duration to release first exhaustion and defecation compared to those with no TCM therapy. In addition, similar promoted phenomena also exist in those patients with TCM therapy in terms of their immunity and nutritional conditions. These facts all indicate a positive impact of TCM therapy in clinical applications.

Study of High-Transverse-Momentum Higgs Boson Production in Association with a Vector Boson in the qqbb Final State with the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:131802. Abstract
This Letter presents the first study of Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson (V=W or Z) in the fully hadronic qqbb final state using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb^{-1}. The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques. Dedicated tagging algorithms exploiting b-tagging properties are used to identify jets consistent with Higgs bosons decaying into bb[over ¯]. Dominant backgrounds from multijet production are determined directly from the data, and a likelihood fit to the jet mass distribution of Higgs boson candidates is used to extract the number of signal events. The VH production cross section is measured inclusively and differentially in several ranges of Higgs boson transverse momentum: 250-450, 450-650, and greater than 650 GeV. The inclusive signal yield relative to the standard model expectation is observed to be μ=1.4_{-0.9}^{+1.0} and the corresponding cross section is 3.1±1.3(stat)_{-1.4}^{+1.8}(syst) pb.

Abstract
Coal gangue spontaneous combustion has caused serious environmental and ecological problems. To investigate the reaction kinetic parameters of the gangue and the exothermic characteristics of the spontaneous combustion of the influence of the law, this study employs the thermogravimetric method to explore the characteristic parameters of the pyrolysis and oxidative combustion process of the gangue from the perspective of thermodynamics, and, at the same time, using the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) on the exothermic effect of the gangue to explore the gangue to obtain the gangue and the original coal TG/DTG/DSC curves to be compared and from the perspective of thermodynamics. The change rule and potential parameters in the pyrolysis and oxidative combustion process of coal gangue (CG) were analyzed, the oxidation kinetic properties of CG were studied, and the reaction mechanism of oxidative spontaneous combustion of CG was further explained. The results show that the TG/DTG/DSC curves of CG in different gas atmospheres will have significant differences in all stages, and in the process of pyrolysis and oxidative combustion, the thermogravimetric curves of CG and those of the original coal show a consistent trend, except for the large difference in peak amplitude in different stages; in different gas atmospheres, as the rate of warming increases, the TG/DTG/DSC curves of the gangue are tilted toward the high-temperature region, they are inclined to the high-temperature region with the increase of the heating rate, and the phenomenon of "hysteresis" of characteristic temperature occurs. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the construction of a spontaneous combustion early warning system based on the fine division of gangue pyrolysis and oxidation combustion stages.

Abstract
PURPOSE Mucosal melanoma of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses (NPMM) is a highly aggressive disease. The role of postoperative adjuvant radiation therapy is controversial. METHODS AND MATERIALS A total of 300 patients with NPMM treated between March 2009 and January 2020 were divided into surgery alone (SA; 158 patients) and surgery plus radiation therapy (SR; 142 patients) groups. Postoperative radiation therapy was recommended, with a total dose of 65 to 70 Gy/30 to 35 fractions to the gross tumor volume and 60 Gy/30 fractions to the clinical target volume. The primary endpoint was relapse-free survival. Secondary endpoints included local recurrence-free survival, distant metastasis-free survival, and overall survival. RESULTS At a median follow-up of 50.0 months, relapse-free survival in the SA and SR groups was 9.8 and 15.2 months (hazard ratio [HR], 0.714; 95% CI, 0.546-0.933; P = .014). Distant metastasis-free survival in the SA and SR groups was 23.8 and 21.3 months (HR, 0.896; 95% CI, 15.7-31.9 vs 13.3-29.3; P = .457). Overall survival in the SA and SR groups was 31.0 and 35.1 months (HR, 0.816; 95% CI, 25.7-36.3 vs 27.1-43.2; P = .178). For patients with stage IVA NPMM, radiation therapy reduced the incidence of relapse by 0.43-fold. CONCLUSIONS Postoperative radiation therapy played a crucial role in the local control of resected NPMM, especially in patients with stage T4a or IVA disease.

Abstract
Close correlation between vitamin D (VitD) deficiency and Parkinson's Disease (PD) risk, VitD as an adjuvant treatment promising to improve PD progression. However, VitD excessive intake could induce hypercalcemia and renal damage. Therefore, upregulation of vitD receptor (VDR) is considered a compensatory strategy to overcome VitD insufficiency and alleviate PD symptoms. In this study, we discovered that VDR played antioxidative roles in dopaminergic neurons by decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and maintaining mitochondrial membrane potential. Further, we newly identified VDR downstream events in C. elegans, including glutathione S-transferase (gst) and forkhead box transcription factor class O (daf-16) mediated oxidative stress resistance. VDR upregulation also mitigated microglial activation through inhibition of NLRP3/caspase-1-mediated inflammation and membrane permeabilization. These findings highlight the multifaceted protective effects of VDR in both neurons and microglia against the development of PD. Importantly, we discovered a novel deubiquitinase DUB3, whose N-terminal catalytic domain interacted with the C-terminal ligand-binding domain of VDR to reduce VDR ubiquitination. Identification of DUB3 as an essential player in the deubiquitinating mechanism of VDR provides valuable insights into VDR regulation and its potential as a therapeutic target for PD.

Abstract
The main challenge for fine-grained few-shot image classification is to learn feature representations with higher inter-class and lower intra-class variations, with a mere few labelled samples. Conventional few-shot learning methods however cannot be naively adopted for this fine-grained setting - a quick pilot study reveals that they in fact push for the opposite (i.e., lower inter-class variations and higher intra-class variations). To alleviate this problem, prior works predominately use a support set to reconstruct the query image and then utilize metric learning to determine its category. Upon careful inspection, we further reveal that such unidirectional reconstruction methods only help to increase inter-class variations and are not effective in tackling intra-class variations. In this paper, we introduce a bi-reconstruction mechanism that can simultaneously accommodate for inter-class and intra-class variations. In addition to using the support set to reconstruct the query set for increasing inter-class variations, we further use the query set to reconstruct the support set for reducing intra-class variations. This design effectively helps the model to explore more subtle and discriminative features which is key for the fine-grained problem in hand. Furthermore, we also construct a self-reconstruction module to work alongside the bi-directional module to make the features even more discriminative. We introduce the snapshot ensemble method in the episodic learning strategy - a simple trick to further improve model performance without increasing training costs. Experimental results on three widely used fine-grained image classification datasets, as well as general and cross-domain few-shot image datasets, consistently show considerable improvements compared with other methods. Abstract
Anxiety- and depression-like behaviors are commonly observed clinical features of depression and many other mental disorders. Recent evidence has revealed the crucial role of the microbiota-gut-brain axis in the bidirectional communication between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. Supplementation with psychobiotics may provide a novel approach for the adjunctive treatment of mental disorders by regulating the intestinal microecology. We isolated and identified a novel probiotic, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum D-9 (D-9), from traditional Chinese fermented foods in our previous work, which exhibited a high yield of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Herein, it was proved that the oral administration of D-9 could alleviate the depression- and anxiety-like behaviors of Chronic Unpredicted Mild Stress (CUMS) mice, and show non-toxicity or side-effects in the mice. Physiological and biochemical analyses demonstrated that D-9 regulated tryptophan metabolism, the HPA-axis and inflammation in CUMS mice. Moreover, D-9 modulated the structure and composition of the gut microbiota, leading to an increase in the relative abundance of Ligilactobacillus murinus and Lactobacillus johnsonii, and a decrease in the levels of Kineothrix alysoides and Helicobacter bilis compared to those in CUMS mice. Our work demonstrates that D-9 alleviated anxiety- and depression-like disorders in CUMS mice by modulating tryptophan metabolism and the gut microbiota. These findings provide an innovative strategy for the intervention and treatment of depressive disorders.

Abstract
Background Contrast retention (CR) is an important predictor of left atrial appendage thrombus (LAAT) and stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). We sought to explore the underlying mechanisms of CR using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations. Methods A total of 12 patients with AF who underwent both cardiac computed tomography angiography (CTA) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) before left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) were included in the study. The patients were allocated into the CR group or non-CR group based on left atrial appendage (LAA) angiography. Patient-specific models were reconstructed to evaluate time-averaged wall shear stress (TAWSS), oscillatory shear index (OSI), relative residence time (RRT), and endothelial cell activation potential (ECAP). Additionally, the incidence of thrombosis was predicted using residence time (RT) at different time-points. Results TAWSS was lower [median (Interquartile Range) 0.27 (0.19-0.47) vs 1.35 (0.92-1.79), p < 0.001] in LAA compared to left atrium. In contrast, RRT [1438 (409.70-13869) vs 2.23 (1.81-3.14), p < 0.001] and ECAP [122.70 (30.01-625.70) vs 0.19 (0.16-0.27), p < 0.001)] was higher in the LAA. The patients in the CR group had significantly higher RRT [(mean ± SD) 16274 ± 11797 vs 639.70 ± 595.20, p = 0.009] and ECAP [610.80 ± 365.30 vs 54.26 ± 54.38, p = 0.004] in the LAA compared to the non-CR group. Additionally, patients with CR had a wider range of thrombus-prone regions [0.44(0.27-0.66)% vs 0.05(0.03-0.27)%, p = 0.009] at the end of the 15th cardiac cycle. Conclusions These findings suggest that CR might be an indicator of high-risk thrombus formation in the LAA. And CT-based CFD simulation may be a feasible substitute for the evaluation of LAA thrombotic risk in patients with AF, especially in patients with CR.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) presents unique challenges due to its progression and tumor heterogeneity. The effectiveness of consolidation therapies, particularly in patients with gene mutations, remains an area of active investigation. METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, we examined data from 3,454 patients with unresectable lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), narrowing our focus to 242 individuals with stage II/III. We gathered patient data, such as demographics, ECOG status, histology, treatment specifics, and gene expression, from patients in China. The study's primary outcome was overall survival (OS), while progression-free survival (PFS) served as the secondary outcome. RESULTS In this study, 50 % of the 242 patients underwent only radical chemoradiotherapy, with 45.87 % (111/242) exhibiting driver gene mutations, predominantly EGFR (58.57 %), followed by KRAS and ALK. Patients with mutations who received either targeted or immune consolidation therapy demonstrated a significantly longer median PFS (42.97 months vs. 24.87 months, p = 0.014) and improved OS (not reached vs. 24.37 months, p = 0.006), compared to those without consolidation therapy. Targeted therapy in mutant patients resulted in an extended median PFS (42.87 months) compared to immune therapy (27.03 months, p = 0.029), with no significant difference in OS. Median PFS and OS were similar between mutant and wild-type patients receiving immune therapy (p = 0.380 and p = 0.928, respectively). CONCLUSION This study underscores the efficacy of targeted consolidation therapy in enhancing PFS in LUAD patients with genetic mutations. It also shows that immune consolidation therapy provides similar survival benefits to mutant and wild-type patients. Future research should focus on optimizing these therapies for improved patient outcomes.

Measurement of the Centrality Dependence of the Dijet Yield in p+Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV with the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:102301. Abstract
ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165 nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Effects of exogenous energy on synthesis of steroid hormones and expression characteristics of the CREB/StAR signaling pathway in theca cells of laying hen. Poult Sci 2024; 103:103414. Abstract
Energy and the cAMP-response element binding protein (CREB)/steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR) signaling pathway play important roles in steroid hormone production and follicular development in hens. This present study aimed to investigate the effects of exogenous energy on the synthesis of steroid hormones and the expression characteristics of the CREB/StAR signaling pathway in theca cells of laying hen. The primary theca cells of small yellow follicles were randomly divided into 6 treatments and cultured in medium with glucose concentrations of 1, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, and 7.5 mg/mL for 48 h. It was found that growth was robust and cell outlines were clear when cells were cultured with 1, 1.5, 3, and 4.5 mg/mL glucose, but cell viability was diminished and cell density decreased after exposure to glucose at 6 and 7.5 mg/mL for 48 h. Cell viability showed an increasing and then decreasing quadratic response to increasing glucose concentration in culture (r2 = 0.688, P < 0.001). The cell viability of theca cells cultured with 4.5 mg/mL glucose was greater than those cultured with 1, 1.5, 6, and 7.5 mg/mL glucose (P < 0.05). The concentration of estradiol in the medium containing 3 mg/mL glucose was higher than in medium containing 1, 1.5, and 6 mg/mL glucose (P < 0.05). There was an increasing and then decreasing quadratic correlation between progesterone concentrations and glucose concentrations (r2 = 0.522, P = 0.002). The concentration of progesterone in medium with 4.5 mg/mL glucose was higher than in medium with 1 and 7.5 mg/mL glucose (P < 0.05). There was an increasing and then decreasing quadratic correlation between the relative expression of CREB1 (r2 = 0.752, P < 0.001), StAR (r2 = 0.456, P = 0.002), CYP1B1 (r2 = 0.568, P < 0.001), and 3β-HSD (r2 = 0.319, P = 0.018) in theca cells of laying hens and glucose concentrations after treatment with different glucose concentrations for 48 h. After treatment with 4.5 mg/mL glucose, the expression of StAR, CYP1B1, and 3β-HSD genes were increased compared to treatment with 1, 1.5, 3, 6, and 7.5 mg/mL glucose (P < 0.001). There was an increasing and then decreasing quadratic correlation between glucose concentrations and protein expression of CREB1 (r2 = 0.819, P < 0.001), StAR (r2 = 0.844, P < 0.001), 3β-HSD (r2 = 0.801, P < 0.001), and CYP11A1 (r2 = 0.800, P < 0.001) in theca cells of laying hens. The protein expression of CREB1, StAR, and 3β-HSD in theca cells cultured with 4.5 mg/mL glucose was higher than in other groups (P < 0.001). The results indicate that the appropriate glucose concentration (4.5 mg/mL) can improve the synthesis of steroid hormones in theca cells of laying hens through the upregulation of key genes and proteins in the CREB/StAR signaling pathway.

Abstract
Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) secretes effector proteins that enter plant cells and manipulate host processes. In a previous study, we identified a glycine-serine-rich effector PstGSRE4, which was proven to regulate the reactive oxygen species (ROS) pathway by interacting with TaCZSOD2. In this study, we further demonstrated that PstGSRE4 interacts with wheat glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase TaGAPDH2, which is related to ROS signalling. In wheat, silencing of TaGAPDH2 by virus-induced gene silencing increased the accumulation of ROS induced by the Pst virulent race CYR31. Overexpression of TaGAPDH2 decreased the accumulation of ROS induced by the avirulent Pst race CYR23. In addition, TaGAPDH2 suppressed Pst candidate elicitor Pst322-triggered cell death by decreasing ROS accumulation in Nicotiana benthamiana. Knocking down TaGAPDH2 expression attenuated Pst infection, whereas overexpression of TaGAPDH2 promoted Pst infection, indicating that TaGAPDH2 is a negative regulator of plant defence. In N. benthamiana, PstGSRE4 stabilized TaGAPDH2 through inhibition of the 26S proteasome-mediated destabilization. Overall, these results suggest that TaGAPDH2 is hijacked by the Pst effector as a negative regulator of plant immunity to promote Pst infection in wheat.

Abstract
Aim: Investigate TKI sitravatinib plus anti-PD-1 antibody tislelizumab in patients with unresectable/advanced/metastatic melanoma with disease progression on/after prior first-line anti-PD-(L)1 monotherapy. Methods: Open-label, multicenter, multicohort study (NCT03666143). Patients in the melanoma cohort (N = 25) received sitravatinib once daily plus tislelizumab every 3 weeks. The primary end point was safety and tolerability. Results: Treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) occurred in all patients, with ≥grade 3 TEAEs in 52.0%. Most TEAEs were mild-or-moderate in severity, none were fatal, and few patients discontinued treatment owing to TEAEs (12.0%). Objective response rate was 36.0% (95% CI: 18.0-57.5). Median progression-free survival was 6.7 months (95% CI: 4.1-not estimable). Conclusion: Sitravatinib plus tislelizumab had manageable safety/tolerability in patients with anti-PD-(L)1 refractory/resistant unresectable/advanced/metastatic melanoma, with promising antitumor activity. Clinical Trial Registration: NCT03666143 (ClinicalTrials.gov).

Abstract
Background FAVOR III China (Comparison of Quantitative Flow Ratio Guided and Angiography Guided Percutaneous Intervention in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease) reported improved clinical outcomes in quantitative flow ratio (QFR) relative to angiography-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), but the clinical impact of QFR-guided PCI according to sex remains unknown. Objectives The authors sought to compare sex differences in the 2-year clinical benefits of a QFR-guided PCI strategy and to evaluate the differences in outcomes between men and women undergoing contemporary PCI. Methods This study involved a prespecified subgroup analysis of the FAVOR III China trial, in which women and men were randomized to a QFR-guided strategy or a standard angiography-guided strategy. Sex differences in clinical benefit of the QFR guidance were analyzed for major adverse cardiac events (MACE), a composite of all-cause death, myocardial infarction, or ischemia-driven revascularization within 2 years. Results A total of 1,126 women and 2,699 men were eligible and the occurrence of 2-year MACE was similar between women and men (10.3% vs 10.5%; P = 0.96). Compared with an angiography-guided strategy, a QFR-guided strategy resulted in a 7.9% and 9.7% reduction in PCI rates in men and women, respectively. A QFR-guided strategy resulted in similar relative risk reductions for 2-year MACE in women (8.0% vs 12.7%; HR: 0.62; 95% CI: 0.42-0.90) and men (8.7% vs 12.4%; HR: 0.69; 95% CI: 0.54-0.87) (Pinteraction = 0.61). Furthermore, QFR values were not significantly different between men and women with various angiographic stenosis categories. Conclusions A QFR-guided PCI strategy resulted in improved MACE in both men and women at 2 years compared with an angiography-guided PCI strategy. The FAVOR III China Study [FAVOR III China]; (NCT03656848).

Abstract
Purpose Ultrasound is widely used to diagnose disease and guide surgery because it is versatile, inexpensive and radiation-free. However, image acquisition is dependent on the operation of a professional sonographer, which is a difficult skill to learn for a wider range of non-sonographers. Methods We propose a prior knowledge-based visual navigation method to obtain three important standard ultrasound views of the heart, based on the sonographer's skill learning and augmented reality prompts. The key information about the probe movement was captured using vision-based tracking and normalisation methods on 14 volunteers, based on a professional sonographer's practice. An augmented reality-based navigation method was then proposed to guide operators with no ultrasound experience to find standard views of the heart in a second set of three volunteers. Results Through quantitative analysis and qualitative scoring, the results showed that the proposed method can effectively guide non-sonographers to obtain standard views with diagnostic value. Conclusion It is believed that the method proposed in this paper has clear application value in primary care, and expansion of the data will allow the accuracy of the navigation to be further improved.

Abstract
Using the CRISPR-Cas9 system to perform base substitutions at the target site is a typical technique for genome editing with the potential for applications in gene therapy and agricultural productivity. When the CRISPR-Cas9 system uses guide RNA to direct the Cas9 endonuclease to the target site, it may misdirect it to a potential off-target site, resulting in an unintended genome editing. Although several computational methods have been proposed to predict off-target effects, there is still room for improvement in the off-target effect prediction capability. In this paper, we present an effective approach called CRISPR-M with a new encoding scheme and a novel multi-view deep learning model to predict the sgRNA off-target effects for target sites containing indels and mismatches. CRISPR-M takes advantage of convolutional neural networks and bidirectional long short-term memory recurrent neural networks to construct a three-branch network towards multi-views. Compared with existing methods, CRISPR-M demonstrates significant performance advantages running on real-world datasets. Furthermore, experimental analysis of CRISPR-M under multiple metrics reveals its capability to extract features and validates its superiority on sgRNA off-target effect predictions.
