Abstract
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a well-documented aetiological factor for multiple sclerosis (MS). EBV encodes at least 44 microRNAs (miRNAs) that are readily detectable in the circulation of human. Previous studies have demonstrated that EBV-encoded miRNAs regulate host immune response and may serve as biomarkers for EBV-associated diseases. However, the roles of EBV miRNAs in MS are still unknown. To fill the gap, we conducted a comprehensive profiling of 44 mature EBV miRNAs in 30 relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) patients at relapse and 30 matched healthy controls. Expression levels of ebv-miR-BHRF1-2-5p and ebv-miR-BHRF1-3 were elevated significantly in the circulation and correlated positively with the expanded disability status scale (EDSS) scores of MS patients. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses confirmed that the expression of these two miRNAs distinguished MS patients clearly from healthy controls. Luciferase assays revealed that ebv-miR-BHRF1-2-5p may directly target MALT1 (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma transport protein 1), a key regulator of immune homeostasis. In conclusion, we described the expression of EBV miRNAs in MS and preliminarily validated the potential target genes of significantly altered EBV miRNAs. The findings may pave the way for prospective study about the pathogenesis of MS.

Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between variation of hemoglobin saturation and related respiratory events in patients with obstructive sleep apnea and hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).Method:According to the SaO₂, the respiratory events were divided into two groups, followed or not followed the second events (SRE and N-SRE). Four features were extracted from SaO₂ and compared within groups under SRE versus N-SRE, and comparisons were also developed between moderate patients and severe patients.Result:ΔSaO₂, max, the duration and Dvmax was significantly higher in SRE than N-SRE (P< 0.01), while Nadir was significantly lower in SRE than N-SRE (P< 0.01). There was also significant difference in the blood oxygen index between moderate and severe patients. The change of SaO₂ is correlated with the ventilation restoration. The results also suggest that the severity of the patient's condition will affect the change of SaO₂ related indicators. Conclusion:This study provides information on the further study of ventilation restoration. Moreover, this study may provide a possible solution for the treatment of OSAHS.

Abstract
Blood vessels provide the original supplies for the formation of primary saliva, which is regulated by the tight junctions (TJs) between endothelial cells. Previous studies have shown that blood flow increases with vasodilatation during cholinergic-evoked salivation. However, changes in vascular paracellular permeability and the role of endothelial TJs in salivation are unknown. Here, we established an in vivo paracellular permeability detection system and observed that the endothelial TJs were permeable to 4-kDa fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-dextran while impermeable to 40- and 70-kDa FITC-dextran under an unstimulated condition in mouse submandibular glands (SMGs). Pilocarpine increased the flux of 4- and 40-kDa FITC-dextran out of blood vessels but did not affect 70-kDa FITC-dextran. Claudin 5, a TJ protein specifically localized in salivary endothelial cells, was redistributed from the apicolateral membranes to the lateral and basolateral membranes and cytoplasm in cholinergic-stimulated mouse SMGs and freshly cultured human SMG tissues. In the transplanted SMGs from epiphora patients, we found that claudin 5 was present in the basolateral membranes and cytoplasm, instead of the apical region in control SMGs. Moreover, the level of phospho-myosin light chain 2 increased within the blood vessels of the pilocarpine-stimulated mouse SMGs and transplanted human SMGs, while the downstream molecule F-actin was reorganized in the endothelial cells of the transplanted human SMGs. Taken together, our findings provide direct visual evidence that the opening of endothelial TJs and the redistribution of claudin 5 are essential events contributing to cholinergic-evoked salivation, thus enriching our understanding of the secretory mechanisms that link blood flow to primary saliva formation by regulating the endothelial paracellular permeability.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the efficacy and safety of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic (TIPS) vs total paracentesis (TP) in the treatment of refractory ascites in patients with cirrhosis.
METHODS PubMed, Web of Science Medline, EMBASE, CNKI, WanFang Database, and Chinese BioMedical Literature Database were searched to retrieve randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared TIPS vs TP in the treatment of refractory ascites in patients with cirrhosis. The quality assessment of RCTs and data extraction were conducted by two reviewers independently. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.2 software.
RESULTS Six studies involving 390 patients (192 cases of TIPS and 198 cases of TP) were included. The meta-analysis showed that compared with TP, TIPS significantly improved liver transplantation-free (LTF) survival (HR = 0.61, P = 0.0009); reduced recurrent ascites (RR = 0.61, P < 0.0001); decreased the levels of renin [weighted mean difference (WMD) = -5.41, P < 0.00001] and aldosterone (WMD = -23.72, P = 0.02) and provided better control of water-sodium retention; and reduced the incidence rate of hepatorenal syndrome (RR = 0.38, P = 0.03). However, TIPS increased the risk of hepatic encephalopathy (RR = 1.81, P = 0.007). No significant differences were found in overall mortality, hospitalization days, the rates of gastrointestinal bleeding and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, or the effects of treatment on renal and liver function between the two groups.
CONCLUSION Compared with traditional paracentesis therapy, TIPS increased the risk of hepatic encephalopathy. However, TIPS significantly improved LTF survival, decreased the risk of recurrent ascites, provided better control of water-sodium retention, and prevented the occurrence of hepatorenal syndrome.

Abstract
Mx proteins are interferon (IFN)-induced dynamin-like GTPases that are present in all vertebrates and inhibit the replication of myriad viruses. However, the role Mx proteins play in IFN-mediated suppression of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection is unknown. In this study, we set out to investigate the effects of Mx1 and Mx2 expression on the interferon-α (IFNα) restriction of JEV replication. To evaluate whether the inhibitory activity of IFNα on JEV is dependent on Mx1 or Mx2, we knocked down Mx1 or Mx2 with siRNA in IFNα-treated PK-15 cells and BHK-21 cells, then challenged them with JEV; the production of progeny virus was assessed by plaque assay, RT-qPCR, and Western blotting. Our results demonstrated that depletion of Mx1 or Mx2 did not affect JEV restriction imposed by IFNα, although these two proteins were knocked down 66% and 79%, respectively. Accordingly, expression of exogenous Mx1 or Mx2 did not change the inhibitory activity of IFNα to JEV. In addition, even though virus-induced membranes were damaged by Brefeldin A (BFA), overexpressing porcine Mx1 or Mx2 did not inhibit JEV proliferation. We found that BFA inhibited JEV replication, not maturation, suggesting that BFA could be developed into a novel antiviral reagent. Collectively, our findings demonstrate that IFNα inhibits JEV infection by Mx-independent pathways.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the cytotoxicity of four dental restorative materials in three-dimensional (3D) L929 cell cultures using a dentin barrier test. METHODS The cytotoxicities of light-cured glass ionomer cement (Vitrebond), total-etching adhesive (GLUMA Bond5), and two self-etching adhesives (GLUMA Self Etch and Single Bond Universal) were evaluated. The permeabilities of human dentin disks with thicknesses of 300, 500, and 1000μm were standardized using a hydraulic device. Test materials and controls were applied to the occlusal side of human dentin disks. The 3D-cell scaffolds were placed beneath the dentin disks. After a 24-h contact with the dentin barrier test device, cell viabilities were measured by performing MTT assays. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. RESULTS The mean (SD) permeabilities of the 300-μm, 500-μm, and 1000-μm dentin disks were 0.626 (0.214), 0.219 (0.0387) and 0.089 (0.028) μlmin-1cm-2cm H2O-1. Vitrebond was severely cytotoxic, reducing the cell viability to 10% (300-μm disk), 17% (500μm), and 18% (1000μm). GLUMA Bond5 reduced the cell viability to 40% (300μm), 83% (500μm), and 86% (1000μm), showing moderate cytotoxicity (300-μm) and non-cytotoxicity (500-μm and 1000-μm). Single Bond Universal and GLUMA Self Etch did not significantly reduce cell viability, regardless of the dentin thicknesses, which characterized them as non-cytotoxic. CONCLUSIONS Cytotoxicity varied with the materials tested and the thicknesses of the dentin disks. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE The tested cytotoxicity of materials applied on 300-, 500-, and 1000-μm dentin disks indicates that the clinical use of the test materials (excepting self-etching adhesives) in deep cavities poses a potential risk of damage to the pulp tissues to an extent, depending on the thickness of the remaining dentin.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathologic features and grading of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the breast. Methods: Sixteen cases of ACC of the breast were analyzed and graded according to the previous report. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was used to detect the immunophenotype, Ki-67 proliferative index and expression of EZH2, and the association with tumor grade and outcome was analyzed. Results: Of the 16 cases, 11 were grade Ⅰ, with the epithelial and myoepithelial cells being arranged into tubular and cribriform structure with no solid component; three were grade Ⅱ, which were composed of mixed tubular, cribriform and solid component (<30%); and two were grade Ⅲ, which showed mainly solid component (>90%) and the tumor cells showed basaloid features with scanty cytoplasm and hyperchromatic nuclei, and mitotic count was>5/10 HPF. Immunophenotypically, the epithelial cells expressed CK7, CK8/18 and CD117; the myoepithelial cells expressed p63 and CK5/6; while the basaloid cells were positive for CK5/6 and CD117.Tubular and cibriform ACC showed low Ki-67 and EZH2 expression, while the two cases of solid variant with basaloid features showed high level of Ki-67 and EZH2 expression. Follow-up data were available in 13 cases with a median follow-up period of 42 months. Lung metastasis occurred after 12 months in one grade Ⅱ case and the patient died of disease after 34 months. Vertebral metastasis occurred after 12 months in one grade Ⅲ case and axillary lymph node metastasis occurred in another grade Ⅲ case. All other patients were free of disease at the end of the follow-up periods. Conclusions: ACC shows morphologic spectrum varying from low to high grade, the latter can may give rise to local and distant metastasis. ACC should not be regarded simply as low malignant potential, and should be graded for optimal treatment.

Based on a deterministic continuous model of cell populations dynamics in the colonic crypt and in colorectal cancer, we propose four combinations of feedback mechanisms in the differentiations from stem cells (SCs) to transit cells (TCs) and then to differentiated cells (DCs), the four combinations include the double linear (LL), the linear and saturating (LS), the saturating and linear (SL), and the double saturating (SS) feedbacks, respectively. The relative fluctuations of the population of SCs, TCs, and DCs around equilibrium states with four feedback mechanisms are studied by using the Langevin method. With the increasing of net growth rate of TCs, it is found that the Fano factors of TCs and DCs go to a peak in a transient phase, and then increase again to infinity in the cases of LS and SS feedbacks. The “up-down-up” characteristic on the Fano factor (like the van der Waals loop) demonstrates that there exists a transient phase between the normal and cancerous phases, our novel findings suggest that the mathematical model with LS or SS feedback might be better to elucidate the dynamics of a normal and abnormal (cancerous) phases.

Abstract
Submandibular gland is innervated by sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, both of which work synergistically to promote the salivation of the glands. However, denervation does not always produce an inhibitive effect. Regeneration secretion was put forward to describe the situation in which the glands after denervation were found to be supersensitive to the stimulation of several agonists of saliva secretion-related receptors. It is of clinical significance to get a good understanding of the secretory mechanism changes in the autonomically denervated submandibular gland. The present paper aims to review the studies on the denervation effects on the submandibular gland.

Abstract
AIM To test the therapeutic effects of delayed treatment of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in recurrent experimental autoimmune uveitis (rEAU). METHODS The efficacy of different regimens of MSC administration in rEAU were tested by evaluation of clinical and pathological intraocular inflammation, as well as retinal structural and functional integrity using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and electroretinogram (ERG). The retinal sections were also immunostained with antibodies to glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and rhodopsin (RHO). RESULTS Delayed treatment of MSCs effectively alleviated the severity of intraocular inflammation with relative intact of outer retinal structure and function. Moreover, double therapies with longer interval led to an even better clinical evaluation, as well as a trend of decrease in relapse and amelioration of retinal function. MSC therapies also effectively reduced GFAP expression and increased RHO expression in the retina. CONCLUSION MSC administration can effectively treat developed diseases of rEAU, and multiple therapies can provide additional therapeutic benefits.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare total percutaneous access using preclose technique with femoral artery cut-down in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) and assess the safety and feasibility of preclose technique. METHODS In the study, 81 cases undergoing EVAR from Dec. 2011 to Nov. 2014 in Peking University People's Hospital were retrospectively reviewed. Preoperative CT angiography (CTA) showed presence of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm or descending aortic aneurysm in all the cases. The maximum diameter of aneurysm >4.5 cm met the indications for surgical treatment. The conditions of bilateral femoral artery and iliac artery CTA showed were good, and there was no moderate or severe stenosis, nor was there any severe calcification in anterior wall of femoral artery. Not only were the cases fit for percutaneous endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (PEVAR), but also feasible with open endovascular aneurysm repair (OEVAR). According to the intention of the patients about the surgical incision, the cases were divided into group PEVAR and group OEVAR. The data of the general situation, operation time, blood loss, technical success rate, length of hospital stay after procedure and wound complications were analyzed statistically. RESULTS In the study, 44 cases (78 incisions) were enrolled in group PEVAR and 37 cases (65 incisions) in group OEVAR. There was no significant difference between the two groups in age, gender, body mass index (BMI), accompanying diseases, average number of stents and outer diameter of stent delivery system. Average operation time of group PEVAR was less than that of group OEVAR [(119.1±102.0) min vs. (163.6±61.9) min, P=0.025]. The blood loss in group PEVAR was less than that in group OEVAR [(64.7±97.0) mL vs. (98.6±88.3) mL], but there was no significant difference (P=0.106). There was no difference in the technical success rate (94.9% vs.95.4%, P=1.000). The average length of hospital stay after procedure was significantly shorter in group PEVAR [(7.8±2.8) d vs.(12.3±7.2) d, P<0.001]. There were 2 cases with subcutaneous hematoma of wound in group PEVAR and 7 cases of wound complications that occurred in group OEVAR including 3 cases with lymphatic leakage, 3 cases with lower limb ischemia and 1 case with subcutaneous hematoma. The analysis showed that PEVAR could reduce the wound complications (2.6%vs.10.8%), but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P=0.079). CONCLUSION Using preclose technique in EVAR is safe and effective. It can shorten the operation time and length of hospital stay after procedure.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study was performed to evaluate the regulating effects of acetylpuerarin on inflammation in an Alzheimer's disease (AD) rat model and an inflammatory cell model. METHODS Healthy female Wistar rats and mouse BV2 microglia cells were selected. AD rat models were established with the method of bilateral intrahippocampal amyloid-β(Aβ)1-42 injections and the inflammatory cell models were established using Aβ25-35-induced mouse BV2 microglia cells. The cytotoxicity of acetylpuerarin on BV2 microglial cells was detected by MTT assay and the morphological changes of BV2 microglia cells were observed under inverted phase contrast microscope. As inflammatory parameters, the expressions of IL-1β, iNOS, IL-6 and TNF-α were examined by Elisa, Immunohistochemistry, Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), Western blot and Immunofluorescence analyses. We also examined the acetylpuerarin's effect on the activity of PKC-δ, IKKβ and caspase-8/caspase-3 pathway. RESULTS Acetylpuerarin exerted no significant cytotoxicity on BV2 microglia cells and was applied in all subsequent experiments. Acetylpuerarin treatment mitigated Aβ25-35-induced morphological changes associated with microglia activation. Moreover, the expressions of caspase-8, cleaved caspase-3, PKC-δ, IKKβ, iNOS, IL-1β and TNF-α in Aβ25-35-stimulated BV2 microglia cells were significantly suppressed by acetylpuerarin and in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, the expression of IL-1β in hippocampus and the level of IL-6 in serum of Aβ1-42 treated rat were reduced by acetylpuerarin and in a concentration-dependent manner. CONCLUSION Our results suggest that acetylpuerarin's anti-inflammation mechanism on AD may be mediated through the PKC-δ-dependent caspase signalling pathway.

Abstract
The emergence of drug resistance mutations is increasing after the implementation of highly active antiretroviral therapy. To characterize two novel mutations L228I and Y232H in the primer grip of reverse transcriptase (RT) of HIV-1 circulating recombination form 08_BC (CRF08_BC) subtype, both mutant clones were constructed to determine their impacts on viral phenotypic susceptibility and replication capacity (RC). Results showed that the novel mutation, L228I, conferred a low-level resistance to etravirine by itself. L228I in combination with Y188C displayed a high level of cross-resistance to both nevirapine (NVP) and efavirenz (EFV). The copresence of A139V and Y232H induced a moderate level of resistance to NVP and EFV. Mutations Y188C/L228I, A139V, Y232H, and A139V/Y232H reduced more than 55% of viral RC compared with that of the wild-type (WT) reference virus. Modeling study suggested that the copresence of Y188C/L228I or A139V/Y232H might induce conformational changes to RT, which might result in reduced drug susceptibility and viral RC due to abolished hydrogen bonding or complex interaction with vicinal residues. Our results demonstrated that L228I and Y232H were novel accessory nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor resistance-related mutations and provided valuable information for clinicians to design more effective treatment to patients infected with HIV-1 subtype CRF08_BC.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to modify the amount and composition of volatile components in bovine milk products, in an attempt to create a recombined skim milk product with full-fat milk flavor but with only 0.5% fat. The experimental plan included lipase-catalyzed hydrolysis and esterification reactions using Palatase 20000L (Novozymes, Bagsværd, Denmark). The results, measured by the methods of volatile compositional analysis and sensory evaluation, showed that the flavor profiles of the optimal recombined milk products were effectively modified in this way, possessing intensified characteristic volatile flavor components with rather low level of fat contents, and the sensory characters were quite realistic to natural whole milk flavor.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the potential association between 23 urinary metals and mean platelet volume (MPV) among a community population in Wuhan. METHODS A total of 3 053 community residents who lived in the sampling buildings for more than 5 years, aged from 18 to 80 years, were recruited using a stratified, cluster sampling approach in Wuhan city, China. Blood and urine samples were obtained from participants in the morning under fasting conditions. Urinary metals, including aluminum, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, rubidium, strontium, molybdenum, cadmium, tin, antimony, barium, tungsten, thallium, lead and uranium, were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The MPV contents were determined using a fully automated clinical chemistry analyzer. Participants with missing data on covariates or cardiovascular disease were excluded. According to the reference intorvals of MPV for Chinese adults, the participants were classified into normal (7.0-11.0 fl) and high MPV (>11.0 fl) subgroups. Data from 2 203 participants were used to evaluate the associations between urinary metals and MPV levels using generalized linear regression models, and the risk of abnormal elevation of MPV using multivariable logistic regression models. The false discovery rate (FDR)-corrected P-value from 23 hypothesis tests was used to adjust for multiple testing. RESULTS After adjusting for potential confounders, urinary concentrations of arsenic (P50=2.431 μg/mmol creatinine) and molybdenum (P50=4.035 μg/mmol creatinine) were significantly associated with increased MPV levels and the risk of abnormal elevation of MPV. In contrast, urinary aluminum (P50=2.706 μg/mmol creatinine) and thallium (P50=0.046 μg/mmol creatinine) were associated with decreased MPV levels, but also the risk of abnormal elevation of MPV. The regression coefficients and 95% CIs were 0.119 (0.043-0.196) for arsenic (FDR-adjusted P=0.018), 0.119 (0.042-0.195) for molybdenum (FDR-adjusted P=0.018), -0.115 (-0.195--0.034) for aluminum (FDR-adjusted P=0.029), and -0.307 (-0.386- -0.228) for thallium (FDR-adjusted P<0.001), respectively. When comparing the extreme quartiles for arsenic, molybdenum, aluminum and thallium, adjusted OR and the 95%CIs were 1.830 (1.382-2.423), 1.496 (1.125-1.989), 0.566 (0.412-0.779) and 0.302 (0.219-0.416), respectively, and FDR-adjusted P-values were <0.001,<0.014,<0.008 and<0.001, respectively. Moreover, significant associations were found between an increased risk of abnormal MPV elevation with urinary iron (P50=6.716 μg/mmol creatinine) , antimony (P50=0.014 μg/mmol creatinine) and uranium (P50=0.003 μg/mmol creatinine) , and a decreased risk with urinary tungsten (P50=0.010 μg/mmol creatinine) and lead (P50=0.265 μg/mmol creatinine) . When comparing the extreme quartiles for iron, antimony and uranium, the respective adjusted OR (95%CI) were 1.866 (1.395-2.496), 1.507 (1.111-2.043) and 1.452 (1.063-1.984), and the respective FDR-adjusted P-values were <0.001,<0.022 and<0.012. The respective adjusted OR (95%CI) were 0.551 (0.417-0.726) and 0.534 (0.394-0.725), and the respective FDR-adjusted P-values were<0.001 and<0.001, when comparing the extreme quartiles for tungsten and lead. Based on multi-metal models, urinary chromium (P50=0.120 μg/mmol creatinine) and selenium (P50=0.646 μg/mmol creatinine) were associated with increased risk of abnormal MPV, while urinary nickel (P50=0.193 μg/mmol creatinine) was associated with decreased risk of abnormal MPV. When comparing the extreme quartiles for chromium, selenium and nickel, adjusted OR (95% CI) were 1.578 (1.054-2.363), 1.718 (1.159-2.549) and 0.535 (0.373-0.767), respectively, and the FDR-adjusted P-values were 0.017, 0.028 and 0.002, respectively. CONCLUSION In the general population of Wuhan city, exposure to aluminum, chromium, iron, nickel, arsenic, selenium, molybdenum, antimony, tungsten, thallium, lead and uranium were all associated with abnormal MPV elevation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the associations between 21 metals in fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and their corresponding concentrations in urine in the general population. METHODS Between April and May 2011, this panel study enrolled 120 residents using random sampling approach in Wuhan communities which contained 3 035 subjects. Participants were aged 18 to 80 years and had lived in the sampling buildings for at least 5 years. Data from basic questionnaires, physical examinations, and morning blood and urine samples under fasting conditions were collected. Participants with missing data were excluded. Finally, 83 particpants included. Participants were instructed to use personal air samplers to continuously monitor PM2.5 for 24 h. The following 21 metals were measured in PM2.5 and urine by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry: aluminum, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, rubidium, strontium, molybdenum, cadmium, tin, antimony, barium, tungsten, thallium and lead. The associations between PM2.5 metals and urinary metals were investigated using generalized linear regression models. RESULTS The age of the study population was (51.5±6.3)years. After adjusting for age, sex, smoking status, BMI, education and income, elevated urinary chromium was significantly associated with increased chromium concentrations in personal PM2.5. The least square means (standard deviation) of urinary chromium in participants classified as having low exposure (<12.491 ng/m(3)), intermediate exposure (12.491-32.388 ng/m(3)) and high exposure (>32.388 ng/m(3)) were (-1.334±0.756), (-1.114±0.813) and (-0.718±0.645) μg/mmol creatinine, respectively (P=0.009). However, the association between urinary and personal PM chromium was not observed after additionally adjusting for false discovery rate (P>0.05). Furthermore, the results demonstrated that other metals in PM2.5 were not related to their corresponding concentrations in urine of subjects. CONCLUSION Urinary concentrations of metals did not reflect human exposure to metals in air, and may not be appropriate as an index to assess personal exposure to metals in particulate matter.

Abstract
Marek's disease (MD), a highly infectious lymphoproliferative disease in chickens, is caused by a cell-associated oncogenic herpesvirus, Marek's disease virus (MDV). MSB-1 is a MD-derived lymphoblastoid cell line and can induce tumors when inoculated into susceptible chickens. Betulinic acid, which is present as one of the major effective components in many traditional Chinese medicines, has recently been reported to inhibit growth of cancer cells and employed as a potential anticancer agent. Tripterine, a major active compound extracted from the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F, has now also shown anti-tumor activities in various cancers. The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic growth-inhibitive effect of betulinic acid combined with tripterine on MSB-1 cells and its mechanism. Viability of MSB-1 cells was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-y1)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method. Cell apoptotic analysis was performed by fluorescence detection. NF-κB transcription activity was detected by measuring luciferase activity. Western blotting was used to analyze the expression of p65, IκB and Meq. Our results showed that the proliferation in the combination group was significantly decreased as compared with that of monotherapy using betulinic acid or tripterine, accompanied by an induction of apoptosis, inhibition of NF-κB transcriptional activity and its targeting oncogenic gene Meq. The results suggest that the combination of betulinic acid and tripterine at lower concentration may produce a synergistic inhibitive effect on MSB-1 cells that warrants further investigation for its potential clinical applications.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the interference of hemoglobin variants J-Bangkok on glycated hemoglobin (HbA(1)c) detected by five measurement systems. METHODS Seventy cases of blood samples were collected at Zhongshan Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from July 2012 to January 2014, the blood samples were divided into the normal control group (40 cases) and Hb J-Bangkok variant group (30 cases), and the normal control group was divided into healthy control group (20 cases) and diabetic group (20 cases). HbA(1)c measurement systems were Primus Ultra2, Variant Ⅱ, Variant Ⅱ Turbo, Modular P and Leadman. Based on the standard of the American National Glycosylated Hemoglobin Standardization Program (NGSP), Primus Ultra2 was used as comparative system, and the other 4 systems were test systems. Comparative analysis and bias evaluation were conducted on the results from five detection systems in different groups, statistical analysis were used for evaluating the differences. The estimated average glucose (eAG) was calculated by HbA(1)c values and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) of Hb J-Bangkok variant group with the different detection systems. Deming regression analysis was used to determinate whether Hb J-Bangkok produced significant clinical effect on HbA(1)c results. HbA(1)c ± 10% and relative bias at 6% and 9% HbA1c were evaluation limits. RESULTS The differences of the 95% confidence interval (95%CI) between the test systems and the comparative system in control group were within ±0.7% HbA(1)c, bias were less than 6%, there were no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). In Hb J-Bangkok group, the eAG calculated from HbA(1)c measured by using Primus Ultra2, Modular P and Leadman were (8.14±2.99), (8.10±3.06) and (8.23±3.00)mmol/L, which had no statistically significant difference compared with FPG ((8.21±3.12)mmol/L, t=0.996, 1.091, 1.479, all P>0.05), and the differences of 95%CI between the results measured by Modular P and the comparative system were all within ±0.7% HbA(1)c, bias were -4.3%-0.4% and -5.2%-4.9%, there were no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). At 6% and 9% HbA(1)c concentrations, the mean differences of the results from the three detection systems were less than the clinically acceptable range. These results showed that the systems of Primus Ultra2, Modular P and Leadman were not affected by Hb J-Bangkok. However, the eAG values calculated from HbA(1)c of Variant Ⅱ and Variant Ⅱ Turbo were (5.58±2.12) and(5.00±2.13)mmol/L, which showed statistically significant lower results compared with FPG level (t=12.29, 13.23 , all P<0.001). Compared with Primus Ultra2, the differences of 95%CI were outside of ± 0.7% HbA1c, bias were -31.9%--12.0% and -42.0%- -17.6% , greater than 6%, showed a negative bias.At 6% and 9% HbA(1)c concentrations, the mean differences of the results were all greater than the clinical acceptable range. These results indicated that Hb J-Bangkok had significantly clinical interference on Variant Ⅱ and Variant Ⅱ Turbo systems. CONCLUSION Hb J-Bangkok has different interference on different HbA(1)c measurement systems, when performs the HbA(1)c test, clinical laboratory should pay attention to identify Hb variants, and select the appropriate methods to measure the HbA(1)c values in order to prevent the occurrence of interference by Hb variants.

Abstract
In the present study, we examined whether the ARNTL (BMAL1) rs2278749 T/C polymorphism was associated with the susceptibility to Alzheimer disease (AD). This case-control study examined the genotypes of apolipoprotein E (APOE e4) and BMAL1 rs2278749 T/C using restriction fragment length polymorphism and the TaqMan assay, respectively. A total of 296 unrelated AD patients and 423 control subjects were included. Both in the entire sample and in APOE e4 non-carriers, the prevalence of T carriers in BMAL1 rs2278749 T/C in AD patients was significantly higher than that in control subjects (entire sample: χ(2) = 12.950, P < 0.0001; APOE e4 non-carriers: χ(2) = 13.094, P < 0.0001). Both in the entire sample and in APOE e4 non-carriers, the prevalence of TT genotypes 2278749 in AD patients was also significantly higher than that in control subjects (entire sample: χ(2) = 7.765, P = 0.024; APOE e4 non-carriers: χ(2) = 13.062, P < 0.0001). However, among APOE e4 carriers, the difference in the prevalence of T carriers or TT genotypes in the BMAL1 rs2278749 T/C between patients and control subjects presents was not significant (T carriers: χ(2) = 0.078, P = 0.851 or TT genotypes: χ(2) = 2.576, P = 0.325). Among APOE e4 non-carriers, T carriers in the BMAL1 rs2278749 T/C were associated with a high susceptibility to AD, but among APOE e4 carriers, the association between AD and BMAL1 rs2278749 T/C was not significant.

Abstract
Multimode interference (MMI) is a typical self-imaging phenomenon and has been widely exploited for optical devices like couplers and splitters. Usually, it utilizes solid waveguides only and thus has very limited tunability in self-imaging properties. This paper reports our original work on tunable MMI using a hybrid optofluidic waveguide. It is generated by the diffusion between miscible flows in a microchannel and consists of two parts: gradient-index liquid-liquid waveguide for light modulation and step-index liquid-solid waveguide for image formation. Simulation and experiments have shown successful realization of the real-time tuning of self-imaging properties. For detail, the image point (focal spot) width could be modulated from 7 μm to 16 μm, and the self-imaging period changes in the range of 500 μm by varying the fluid properties. It is foreseeable that such a hybrid optofluidic waveguide may find wider applications in lab-on-a-chip systems and optical devices.

Abstract
Considerable attention is currently being directed toward methods for producing recombinant human proteins in the mammary glands of genetically modified transgenic livestock. However, the expression of inserted genes in transgenic animals is variable and often very low because of the randomness of the site of transgene integration. One possible strategy to avoid the expression problem associated with random integration is to use site-specific integration by targeting integration to a high expression locus and, thereby, to improve expression of the transferred gene. In the present study, we focused on glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a novel type of neurotrophic factor first cloned in 1993. Research has shown that GDNF may have potential applications in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and other diseases of the central nervous system since it acts as a protective factor for central dopaminergic neurons. Here, we constructed a gene targeting vector to knock-in the human GDNF gene at the bovine beta-casein gene locus as a first step to producing transgenic animals with a high level of expression of human GDNF protein in their mammary glands. Bovine fetal fibroblast cells were transfected with linearized pNRTCNbG by electroporation. Three cell clones were identified with successful targeting to the beta-casein locus; and were confirmed using both polymerase chain reaction analysis and sequencing. Gene-targeted cells were used as nuclear donors; a total of 161 embryos were reconstructed, 23 of which developed to the blastocyst stage. These blastocysts were transferred to 8 recipient cows, but no offspring were obtained.

Abstract
A variety of molecular epidemiological studies have been conducted to examine the association between the DNMT3B -149C/T polymorphism and cancer susceptibility; however, there has been no study investigating the association between the DNMT3B -149C/T polymorphism and the risk of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) until now. To determine the role of the DNMT3B -149C/T polymorphism in LSCC, we genotyped 113 patients with LSCC and 110 controls from a Chinese population using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The chi-square test was used to examine differences in the distributions of genotypes studied between patients and controls. The association between the DNMT3B -149C/T polymorphism and the risk of LSCC was estimated using ORs and their 95%CIs. Genotypic frequencies in the patients with LSCC were not similar to those of the controls, with the differences being statistically significant (P = 0.001). When the DNMT3B -149 CC genotype was used as the reference group, the CT genotype was not associated with LSCC risk (adjusted OR, 2.12; 95%CI = 0.89-5.19; P = 0.07), but the TT genotype was associated with significantly increased risk for LSCC (adjusted OR = 3.27; 95%CI = 1.79-10.66; P = 0.009). Under the recessive model of inheritance, the TT genotype was associated with significantly increased risk for LSCC (adjusted OR = 1.98; 95%CI = 1.12-5.95; P = 0.012), compared with other genotypes. These results suggested that the DNMT3B -149C/T polymorphism is associated with a genetic susceptibility for developing LSCC in a Chinese population.

Abstract
AIM To identify the genetic defects in a Chinese family with achromatopsia. METHODS A 2.5-year-old boy, who displayed nystagmus, photophobia, and hyperopia since early infancy, was clinically evaluated. To further confirm and localize the causative mutations in this family, targeted region capture and next-generation sequencing of candidate genes, such as CNGA3, CNGB3, GNAT2, PDE6C, and PDE6H were performed using a custom-made capture array. RESULTS Slit-lamp examination showed no specific findings in the anterior segments. The optic discs and maculae were normal on fundoscopy. The unaffected family members reported no ocular complaints. Clinical signs and symptoms were consistent with a clinical impression of autosomal recessive achromatopsia. The results of sequence analysis revealed two novel missense mutations in CNGA3, c.633T>A (p.D211E) and c.1006G>T (p.V336F), with an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance. CONCLUSION Genetic analysis of a Chinese family confirmed the clinical diagnosis of achromatopsia. Two novel mutations were identified in CNGA3, which extended the mutation spectrum of this disorder.

Abstract
Background: Spinal anesthesia was considered as a reasonable anesthetic option in severe preeclampsia when cesarean delivery is indicated, and there is no indwelling epidural catheter or contraindication to spinal anesthesia. However, the ideal dose of intrathecal bupivacaine has not been quantified for cesarean delivery for severe preeclamptic patients. This study aimed to determine the ED50 and ED95 of intrathecal bupivacaine for severely preeclamptic patients undergoing elective cesarean delivery. Methods: Two hundred severely preeclamptic patients are undergoing elective cesarean delivery under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia enrolled in this randomized, double-blinded, dose-ranging study. Patients received 4 mg, 6 mg, 8 mg, or 10 mg intrathecal hyperbaric bupivacaine with 2.5 μg sufentanil. Successful spinal anesthesia was defined as a T6 sensory level achieved within 10 minutes after intrathecal drug administration and/or no epidural supplement was required during the cesarean section. The ED50 and ED95 were calculated with a logistic regression model. Results: ED50 and ED95 of intrathecal bupivacaine for successful spinal anesthesia were 5.67 mg (95% confidence interval [CI]: 5.20–6.10 mg) and 8.82 mg (95% CI: 8.14–9.87 mg) respectively. The incidence of hypotension in Group 8 mg and Group 10 mg was higher than that in Group 4 mg and Group 6 mg (P < 0.05). The sensory block was significantly different among groups 10 minutes after intrathecal injection (P < 0.05). The use of lidocaine in Group 4 mg was higher than that in other groups (P < 0.05). The use of phenylephrine in Group 8 mg and Group 10 mg was higher than that in the other two groups (P < 0.05). The lowest systolic blood pressure before the infant delivery of Group 8 mg and Group 10 mg was lower than the other two groups (P < 0.05). The satisfaction of muscle relaxation in Group 4 mg was lower than other groups (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in patients’ satisfaction and the newborns’ Apgar score and the blood gas analysis of umbilical artery serum (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Our study showed that the ED50 and ED95 of intrathecal bupivacaine for severely preeclamptic patients undergoing elective cesarean delivery were 5.67 mg and 8.82 mg, respectively. In addition, decreasing the dose of intrathecal bupivacaine could reduce the incidence of maternal hypotension.

Abstract
AIM To determine the effects of rapamycin on experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis (EAU) and investigate of role of rapamycin on T cell subsets in the disease. METHODS EAU was induced in rats using peptides 1169 to 1191 of the interphotoreceptor binding protein (IRBP). Rapamycin (0.2 mg/kg/d) was administrated by intraperitoneal injection for a consecutive 7d after immunization. Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokines, TGF-β1, and IL-6 produced by lymphocyteswere measured by ELISA, while Th17 cells and CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) from rat spleen were detected by flow cytometry. RESULTS Intraperitoneal treatment immediately after immunization dramatically ameliorated the clinical course of EAU. Clinical responses were associated with reduced retinal inflammatory cell infiltration and tissue destruction. Rapamycin induced suppression of Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokines, including IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-17, IL-4, and IL-10 release from T lymphocytes of EAU rats, in vitro. Rapamycin also significantly increased TGF-β1 production but had no effect on IL-6 productionof T lymphocytes from EAU rats in vitro. Furthermore, rapamycin decreased the ratio of Th17 cells/CD4+T cells and upregulated Tregs in EAU, as detected by flow cytometry. CONCLUSION Rapamycin effectively interferes with T cell mediated autoimmune uveitis by inhibiting antigen-specific T cell functions and enhancing Tregs in EAU. Rapamycin is a promising new alternative as an adjunct corticosteroid-sparing agent for treating uveitis.

Abstract
Plasmonic hybridized transverse magnetic like (TM-like) cavity modes in multi-layered metal-dielectric circular nanoantenna are systematically studied. The main purpose is to explore the symmetry features of the vertical modal profile and its impact on the in-plane interference of gap plasmonic waves that are responsible to the resonant mode. It is found that only vertically in-phase modes are excitable when illuminated by a plane wave under normal incidence and more could be selectively excited using a dipole source, within the wavelength range from 430 nm-1250 nm. More specifically, the excitation of localized cavity modes is shown to be highly sensitive to the dipole position which determines symmetry matching and the degree of field overlap between the dipole source and the cavity mode pattern. Furthermore, we show that the resonance frequencies can be approximately predicted by the dispersion relations of plasmonic wave in the corresponding two-dimensional multilayered structure. Our results would be helpful for the design of photonic nanoantennas with alternative metal and dielectric medium.

Abstract
The high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) protein is a DNA-binding nuclear protein, which is overexpressed in leukemia cells. Cordycepin is characterized by strong antileukemic properties and is regarded as an effective natural compound for leukemia therapy. The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of HMGB1 knockdown and cordycepin treatment on proliferation, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and adhesion of K562 human chronic myeloid leukemia cells. The Cell Counting kit‑8 assay was used to determine the proliferation of K562 cells. The cell cycle and apoptosis of K562 cells was determined using flow cytometric analysis. In addition, a cell adhesion assay was performed. Western blotting was used to determine the protein expression of cyclooxygenase 2, Bax, receptor for advanced glycation end-products and Bcl‑2. The data collected demonstrated that HMGB1 knockdown combined with cordycepin treatment had significant anti‑proliferative and pro‑apoptotic effects. In addition, it increased the ROS levels and reduced the adhesion of K562 cells. It was also identified that HMGB1 knockdown had synergistic effects with cordycepin, which aided in accelerating apoptosis, and inhibiting proliferation and adhesion in chronic myeloid leukemia cells. These results indicated that HMGB1 may be used as a potential therapeutic target, with cordycepin having potential as an auxiliary drug. Therefore, it is suggested that HMGB1 knockdown and corycepin treatement may present a promising therapeutic strategy for leukemia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To apply modified proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) fixation techniques performed by percutaneous placement of guide wire combined with true lateral view and to make the procedures simpler. METHODS A retrospective study was used to analyze the clinical data of femoral intertrochanteric fractures cases, which were treated with conventional PFNA fixation or modified PFNA fixation performed by percutaneous placement guide wire combined with true lateral view in our hospital, from March, 2011 to May, 2014. In the study, 60 cases were followed for average 13 months. The operation time, the amount of bleeding, the fluoroscopy time, postoperative radiographic measurements (tip apex distance, TAD) and hip function scores were analyzed. RESULTS In modified PFNA group, the amount of bleeding, the operation time and the fluoroscopy time were (34.9±6.1) mL, (70.5±12.5) min, (63.6±9.7) s respectively. In conventional PFNA group,they were (47.8±6.7) mL, (80.6±17.1) min, (68.5±8.7) s respectively. There were significant differences in the above respects between the two groups (P were 0.006, 0.013, and 0.022 respectively). There were no significant differences in TAD, fracture healing time, postoperative hip scores between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION Fracture line is a natural entry point for some cases of femoral intertrochanteric fractures when we use proximal femoral nail anti-rotation to fix the fracture. Applying percutaneous insertion of the guide pin combined with true lateral view could reduce the operation time, amount of bleeding, and fluoroscopy time significantly, make the procedures simpler and acquire satisfactory results .

Abstract
Rspo1 belongs to the Rspo family, which is composed of 4 members (Rspo1-4) that share 40 to 60% sequence homology and similar domain organizations, and regulate the WNT signaling pathway via a common mechanism. Rspo1 plays a key role in vertebrate development and is an effective mitogenic factor of gastrointestinal epithelial cells. We report the cloning of chicken Rspo1 and its gene expression distribution among tissues. It contained an open reading frame of 783 bp encoding a protein of 260 amino acids, and its molecular weight was predicted to be 28.80 kDa. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction-based gene expression analysis indicated that chicken Rspo1 was highly expressed in the stomach muscle tissue, but was expressed at low levels in the lung, brain, jejunum, cecum, ileum, spleen, pancreas, kidney, and glandular stomach. These results suggest that Rspo1 plays a major role in muscular immune protection.

Abstract
Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) circulating recombinant form 08_BC (CRF08_BC), carrying the recombinant reverse transcriptase (RT) gene from subtypes B and C, has recently become highly prevalent in Southern China. As the number of patients increases, it is important to characterize the drug resistance mutations of CRF08_BC, especially against widely used antiretrovirals. In this study, clinically isolated virus (2007CNGX-HK), confirmed to be CRF08_BC with its sequence deposited in GenBank (KF312642), was propagated in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) with increasing concentrations of nevirapine (NVP), efavirenz (EFV), or lamivudine (3TC). Three different resistance patterns led by initial mutations of Y181C, E138G, and Y188C were detected after the selection with NVP. Initial mutations, in combination with other previously reported substitutions (K20R, D67N, V90I, K101R/E, V106I/A, V108I, F116L, E138R, A139V, V189I, G190A, D218E, E203K, H221Y, F227L, N348I, and T369I) or novel mutations (V8I, S134N, C162Y, L228I, Y232H, E396G, and D404N), developed during NVP selection. EFV-associated variations contained two initial mutations (L100I and Y188C) and three other mutations (V106L, F116Y, and A139V). Phenotypic analyses showed that E138R, Y181C, and G190A contributed high-level resistance to NVP, while L100I and V106L significantly reduced virus susceptibility to EFV. Y188C was 20-fold less sensitive to both NVP and EFV. As expected, M184I alone, or with V90I or D67N, decreased 3TC susceptibility by over 1,000-fold. Although the mutation profile obtained in culture may be different from the patients, these results may still provide useful information to monitor and optimize the antiretroviral regimens.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Growing evidence suggests that mutations in the connection domain of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT) can contribute to viral resistance to RT inhibitors. This work was designed to determine the effects of a novel mutation, D404N, in the connection subdomain of RT of HIV-1 CRF08_BC subtype on drug resistance, viral replication capacity (RC) and RT activity. METHODS Mutation D404N, alone or together with the other reported mutations, was introduced into an HIV-1 CRF08_BC subtype infectious clone by site-directed mutagenesis. Viral susceptibility to nine RT inhibitors, viral RC and the DNA polymerase activity of viral RT of the constructed virus mutants were investigated. A modelling study using the server SWISS-MODEL was conducted to explore the possible structure-related drug resistance mechanism of the mutation D404N. RESULTS Single mutations D404N and H221Y conferred low-level resistance to nevirapine, efavirenz, rilpivirine and zidovudine. Double mutations Y181C/D404N and Y181C/H221Y significantly reduced susceptibility to NNRTIs. The most pronounced resistance to NNRTIs was observed with the triple mutation Y181C/D404N/H221Y. Virus containing D404N as the only mutation displayed ∼50% RC compared with the WT virus. The modelling study suggested that the D404N mutation might abolish the hydrogen bonds between residues 404 and K30 in p51 or K431 in p66, leading to impaired RT subunit structure and enhanced drug resistance. CONCLUSIONS These results indicate that D404N is a novel NNRTI-associated mutation in the HIV-1 subtype CRF08_BC and provides information valuable for the monitoring of clinical RTI resistance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It is controversial whether Tai Chi (TC) benefits breast cancer survivors (BCS) on quality of life (QoL). We therefore undertook a meta-analysis to assess this question. MATERIALS AND METHODS A computerized search through electronic databases was performed to identify relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The primary outcome was QoL, while secondary outcomes included body mass index (BMI), bone mineral density (BMD), and muscle strength. RESULTS Five RCTs involving 407 patients were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled standardized mean differences were 0.10 (95% confidence interval (CI): -0.35-0.54) for physical well- being, 0.03 (95%CI: -0.18-0.25) for social/family well-being, 0.24 (95%CI: 0.02-0.45) for emotional well-being, 0.23 (95%CI: -0.03-0.49) for functional well-being, and 0.09 (95%CI: -0.19-0.36) for additional concerns. TC failed to improve BMI, BMD, and muscle strength. CONCLUSIONS There is currently lack of sufficient evidence to support TC improving QoL and other important clinical endpoints.

Abstract
In this work we synthesised four new pyridine acylamide complexes [HgI2(L1)] (1) and (2), [HgI2(L2)2] (3), and [HgI2(L3)]n (4) (L1 = N,N′-bis(3-pyridylmethyl)benzene-1,4-dicarboxamide, L2 = N4,N4′-bis(pyridin-3-yl)-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-dicarboxamide, L3 = N1,N3-bis(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)isophthalamide) by solvo(hydro)thermal reaction. Compounds 1 and 2 are supramolecular isomers prepared via variation of the reaction solvent, in which the HgII centres are bridged by L1 ligands to form one-dimensional (1D) helical chain or 1D meso-helical chain, respectively. Careful inspection of the structures reveal that formation of the isomers are mainly induced by the distinct configuration of L1 ligand and slight differences in coordination geometry of the HgII ions. Complex 3 shows a novel Z-shaped zero-dimensional structure with a L2–HgI2–L2–HgI2–L2 arrangement. In complex 4, flexible L3 ligands link HgI2 units to construct a 1D helical chain with an overall chiral structure, derived from spontaneous resolution. Luminescence properties of these four novel complexes were also explored.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) levels on the day of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) administration on outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH). STUDY DESIGN In this retrospective study, 129 infertile women undergoing IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatments were included; these cycles were stratified according to LH levels of ≥ 1.12 IU/L or < 1.12 U/L and according to E2 levels of ≥ 1,005.89 pmol/L or < 1,005.89 pmol/L. The main outcome measure was the clinical pregnancy rate. RESULTS The clinical pregnancy rate was significantly higher in the group with LH ≥ 1.12 IU/L than in the group with LH < 1.12 U/L (43.28% vs. 30.65%, p < 0.05). The clinical pregnancy rate was also higher in the group with E2 ≥ 1,005.89 pmol/L than in the group with average E2 < 1,005.89 pmol/L (42.86% vs. 30.51%, p < 0.05). Among the LH, E2, and P levels on the day of HCG administration, LH level was the most important predictor of outcomes of IVF in COH. The present data showed an adverse effect of low serum LH level (LH < 1.12 IU/L) on the day of HCG administration on clinical pregnancy rate. E2 level can also predict the outcomes of IVF in COH. CONCLUSIONS Low serum LH level (LH < 1.12 IU/L) and low serum E2 level (average E2 < 1,005.89 pmol/L) on the day of HCG administration led to low clinical pregnancy rates, while the P level on the day of HCG administration may have had little effect on clinical pregnancy.

Abstract
Two new CoII coordination compounds, namely Co[(cis-trans)-L](nip)·H2O (1) and Co[(cis-cis)-L](Hbtc)·2H2O (2) (L = N1,N4-di(pyridin-3-yl)terephthalamide, H2nip = 5-nitroisophthalic acid, H3btc = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid), were synthesised hydrothermally and characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction and direct current magnetic susceptibility measurement. Interestingly, the results disclose somewhat tuneable magnetic properties for compounds 1 and 2, mainly due to the distinct supramolecular interactions.

Abstract
Joint detection of anti-dsDNA antibodies, anti-U1RNP, anti-SM antibodies, anti-SSA antibodies, anti-ribosomal P protein antibodies, anti-nucleosome antivodies (Anua), anti-histone antibodies (AHA) and antinuclear antibodies brings to the early diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and speculation of renal lesion degree of lupus nephritis patients in order to choose a specific therapeutic schedule. This paper analyzed the abnormal immunology features and connections of each pathological pattern of LN renal biopsy and probed into the essence in order to provide basis for diagnosis, treatment, pathological pattern speculation and forward assessment of LN. We chose 97 cases, treated them with renal biopsy and pathological pattern classification, analyzed pathological pattern distribution, different pathological patterns and the correlation of immunity index with anti-dsDNA antibodies, anti-U1RNP, anti-Sm antibodies, anti-SSA antibodies, anti-ribosomal P protein antibodies, Anua, AHA and ANA of the first renal biopsy were taken as the experiment index. The results showed that the morbidity of the male was distinctly lower than the female and the age of onset was much lower (P < 0.05); pattern I, pattern II, pattern III, pattern IV, pattern V, and pattern VI accounted for 1.0%, 3.1%, 12.4%, 47.4%,16.5%, 15.5%, 4.1%, 0%,respectively; among all the LN patients, there were respectively 59, 43, 28, 52, 51, 48, 36 and 93 cases in which anti-dsDNA antibody, anti-U1RNP antibody, anti-Sm antibody, anti-SSA antibody, anti-ribosomal P protein antibodies, Anua, AHA and ANA had increased and the positive rate was 60.8%, 44.3%, 28.9%, 53.6%, 52.6%, 49.5%, 37.1% and 95.9%, respectively. In conclusion, pattern IV is the most common of all pathological patterns of LN. Among the immunity index, anti- U1RNP antibodies and anti-SSA antibodies are positively correlated with anti-dsDNA antibodies; Anua is positively correlated with anti-dsDNA antibodies and AHA; anti-dsDNA antibodies, anti U1RNP antibodies, anti-Sm antibodies, anti SSA antibodies, AHA, anti-ribosomal P protein antibodies and ANA have no obvious correlation with LN renal lesions degree; Anua level of serum is positively correlated with LN renal lesions degree.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to establish a program model for use in wide-spread cervical cancer screening. METHODS Cervical cancer screening was conducted in Zhongshan city in Guangdong province, China through a coordinated network of multiple institutes and hospitals. A total of 43,567 women, 35 to 59 years of age, were screened during regular gynecological examinations using the liquid-based ThinPrep cytology test (TCT). Patients who tested positive were recalled for further treatment. RESULTS The TCT-positive rate was 3.17%, and 63.4% of these patients returned for follow-up. Pathology results were positive for 30.5% of the recalled women. Women who were younger than 50 years of age, urban dwelling, low-income, had a history of cervical disease, began having sex before 20 years of age, or had sex during menstruation, were at elevated risk for a positive TCT test. The recall rate was lower in women older than 50 years of age, urban dwelling, poorly educated, and who began having sex early. A higher recall rate was found in women 35 years of age and younger, urban dwelling, women who first had sex after 24 years of age, and women who had sex during menstruation. The positive pathology rate was higher in urban women 50 years of age and younger and women who tested positive for human papillomavirus. CONCLUSION An effective model for large-scale cervical cancer screening was successfully established. These results suggest that improvements are needed in basic education regarding cervical cancer screening for young and poorly educated women. Improved outreach for follow-up is also necessary to effectively control cervical cancer.

Abstract
This study was conducted to estimate dietary zinc (Zn) levels on growth performance, carcass traits, and intramuscular fat (IMF) deposition in weaned piglets. Sixty piglets were randomly divided into five groups, as follows: control (basal diet), Zn250, Zn380, Zn570, and Zn760 with supplementation of 250, 380, 570, and 760 mg Zn/kg of the basal diet, respectively. The final weight, average daily gain (ADG), gain/feed (G/F), lean meat percentage, fat meat percentage, lean eye area, backfat thickness, and IMF content were dose-dependently increased in all groups of Zn treatment. The serum total triglycerides (TG) and free fatty acid (FFA) were significantly higher in all Zn treatments than in the control. The enzyme activities of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), fatty acid synthase (FAS), and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) were markedly higher, while enzyme activities of hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1 (CPT-1) were significantly lower in all Zn treatments than in the control. The messenger RNA (mRNA) levels of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP-1), stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD), FAS, ACC, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ), LPL, and adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein (A-FABP) were significantly higher, while the mRNA levels of CPT-1 and HSL were significantly lower in all Zn treatments compared with the control. These results indicated that high levels of Zn increased IMF accumulation by up-regulating intramuscular lipogenic and fatty acid transport gene expression and enzyme activities while down-regulating lipolytic gene expression and enzyme activities.

Abstract
An abrupt transition of the interfacial exchange coupling from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic was observed in the interface of perpendicularly magnetized L10-MnGa/Fe1-xCox epitaxial bilayers when x was around 25%. By considering the special band structure of the MnGa alloy, we present a model explaining this transition by the spin-polarization reversal of Fe1-xCox alloys due to the rise of the Fermi level as the Co content increases. The effect of interfacial exchange coupling on the coercive force (Hc) and the spin-dependent tunneling effect in perpendicular magnetic tunnel junctions (pMTJs) based on the coupled composite were also studied. Changes from the normal spin valve to inverted magnetoresistance loops corresponding to the coupling transition were observed in pMTJs with MnGa/Fe1-xCox as an electrode.

Abstract
Based on the domestic and foreign published papers about soil heavy metal contents, the present study explored the spatial variations of heavy metal contents in agricultural soil in China. Totally, 173 studies on soil Pb, 138 on Cd, 156 on Cu, 139 on Zn and 140 on Cr were collected. Firstly, the abnormal values were selected and removed, then the spatial distributions were obtained through Kriging method and the average values in the provinces were calculated. Results show that the spatial distributions of heavy metals have obvious regional characteristics and the southwest part of China has relatively high heavy metal concentrations in soils. Compared with the background value of soil heavy metal concentrations, nearly all of the provinces have higher Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn concentrations. Pb and Cd have the most obviously higher values than the background values. The highest difference of Pb concentration is in Yunnan Province with 1.91 times of the background, and the highest Cd difference is in Liaoning Province with 23.04 times of the background; The highest Zn enrichment is in Yunnan, with 1.55 times of the background; and the highest Cu difference with 2.92 times of the background value.
