Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes of perioperative immune index in patients with breast cancer and its clinical significance. Methods: Th1 cells, Th2 cells, Th1/Th2 ratio and regulatory T cells (Treg) were detected in peripheral blood of 103 patients with primary breast cancer and 116 patients with breast fibroma before surgery and on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day following operation. The relationship of changes in T lymphocyte subsets and clinicopathological characteristics, as well as tumor-free survival of breast cancer patients, was analyzed. Results: The levels of Th1 cells in breast cancer group on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day following operation were (12.20±0.45)%, (13.89±0.47)%, (14.04±0.49)%, which were significantly lower than those before operation [(15.82 + 0.51)%, all P<0.05 ]. Treg cells, however, with the number of (3.82±0.13)%, (3.25±0.11)%, (2.95 ±0.11)%, were remarkably higher than those before operation [(2.53 ±0.11)%, all P<0.05]. With respect to breast fibroma patients, there was no significant difference compared with those before operation of Th1 cells, Th2 cells and Treg cells (all P>0.05). The changes of Th1 cells were associated with the degree of differentiation, T stage, N stage, TNM stage, HER-2 status and Ki-67 (all P<0.05). Treg cells were related to T stage, N stage and HER-2 status (all P<0.05). Tumor-free survival in the Th1-cell-increasing group was significantly better than that in the Th1-cell-decreasing group (P=0.045), while cell-decreasing group of Treg showed the improved outcomes (P=0.012). Conclusions: The levels of Th1 cells and Treg cells are important indicators of cellular immune function in patients with breast cancer. Moreover, the perioperative changes of Th1 cells and Treg cells are associated with the size of tumors, pathological parameters, clinical stages and tumor-free survival outcomes.

Abstract
Purpose The objective of the present study was to develop a liposomal drug delivery system based on combretastatin A4 (CA4) prodrugs modified with varying alkyl chains and investigate the in vitro drug conversion from prodrug and in vivo antitumor effect. Methods The prodrug of CA4 was synthesized with stearyl chloride (18-carbon chain), palmitoyl chloride (16-carbon chain), myristoyl chloride (14-carbon chain), decanoyl chloride (10-carbon chain), and hexanoyl chloride (6-carbon chain) at the 3′-position of the CA4. Subsequently, it was encapsulated with liposomes through the thin-film evaporation method. Furthermore, the characteristics of prodrug-liposome were evaluated using in vitro drug release, conversion, and cytotoxicity assays, as well as in vivo pharmacokinetic, antitumor, and biodistribution studies. Results The liposome system with loaded CA4 derivatives was successfully developed with nano-size and electronegative particles. The rate of in vitro drug release and conversion was reduced as the fatty acid carbon chain lengthened. On the contrary, in vivo antitumor effects were improved with the enlargement of the fatty acid carbon chain. The results of the in vivo pharmacokinetic and tissue distribution studies indicated that the reduced rate of CA4 release with a long carbon chain could prolong the circulation time and increase the drug concentration in the tumor tissue. Conclusion These results suggested that the release or hydrolysis of the parent drug from the prodrug was closely related with the in vitro and in vivo properties. The slow drug release of CA4 modified with longer acyl chain could prolong the circulation time and increase the concentration of the drug in the tumor tissue. These effects play a critical role in increasing the antitumor efficacy.

Abstract
Fine particle explosive growth (FPEG) events are frequently observed in heavy haze episodes in Beijing, the characteristics and formation mechanism of which remain not fully understood. In this study, a five year (2013-2017) online observation was conducted in Beijing and the chemical evolution pattern of FPEG events was analyzed to understand its formation mechanism. A total of 132 FPEG events were identified, and steadily decreased from 39 events in 2013 to 19 events in 2017. More than 70% of the FPEG events occurred in winter and autumn, which coincides with adverse weather conditions and enhanced primary emissions. Organic matter (OM) was the dominated components (~30%) in PM2.5, but it only accounted for 10% of total FPEG events as a driven factor, because its contribution usually decreased when the FPEG events developed. In contrast, the secondary inorganic species were the dominated driven factors, and sulfate-driven events accounted >50%. During the period of 2013-2017, the contribution from regional sources decreased significantly mainly due to the reduction of emissions from regional sources, while the contribution from local sources remained largely unchanged, indicating that the local secondary transformation played a leading role in promoting the FPEG events. The low nitrogen oxidation rates (NOR, 0.12 ± 0.07) and the weak increase trend of NOR with elevated RH were observed, indicating the formation of which might be promoted by the homogenous reaction between HNO3 and NH3. In contrast, a significant increase in sulfur oxidation rate (SOR, 0.50 ± 0.19) was observed when RH > 50%, suggesting enhanced heterogeneous oxidation of SO2 in FPEG events. In addition, our analysis suggest the S (IV) heterogeneous oxidation rates in FPEG events depend mainly on the aerosol liquid water content (ALWC) in addition to the aerosol acidity. This study provides observational evidence for understanding the formation mechanism of FPEG events in Beijing.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Blepharophimosis syndrome (BPES) is characterized by eyelid malformation with occasional premature ovarian failure. Mutations in FOXL2 underlie a fraction of BPES cases. OBJECTIVE We aimed to investigate the genetic basis of BPES in 26 Chinese families that included 78 patients. METHODS We performed ophthalmological examinations on each family member. We used Sanger sequencing to screen FOXL2 exons and their flanking sequences. We also performed bioinformatics studies, structural modeling and pathogenicity evaluations on all identified variations. Literature was reviewed and genotype-phenotype correlation analysis was performed. RESULTS The patients had typical manifestations of BPES. Ten mutations were identified in ten of the twenty-six families. Among these, seven were novel mutations. These included the six truncating mutations, p.Glu69*, p.Gly256Glyfs*14, p.Ala14Serfs*135, p.Pro333Profs*200, p.Pro290Leufs*70, and p.Pro157Profs*91, and one missense mutation, p.Tyr59Cys. The mutations were scattered within the gene, and no mutational hotspots were found. Genotype-phenotype correlation analysis showed that frameshift or nonsense mutations were correlated with type I BPES, while in-frame or missense mutations were associated with type II BPES. CONCLUSION We report the largest BPES cohort in China thus far as well as seven novel mutations in FOXL2. The identification of novel mutations has not only expanded the mutational spectrum of the gene (which is valuable for mutation detection-based screening) but also suggests that most mutations within the Chinese population may not have been characterized yet.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To research the correlation between the visual acuity ratio and pattern reversal visual evoked potential (PRVEP) P100 waveform amplitude ratio of both eyes. Methods Forty-seven volunteers were selected, and the visual chart visual acuity of both eyes was measured. The visual acuity ratio of the eye with poor vision to the eye with better vision was calculated by five grade notation method. The amplitudes of P100 waveforms of both eyes were recorded respectively by using black-and-white checkerboard PRVEP and chosing 1°, 15' stimulating visual angle, and the ratio of amplitudes between the two eyes was also calculated. SPSS 20.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between the visual acuity ratio and the ratio of P100 waveform amplitudes between the two eyes. Return test and linear regression analysis with the binocular ratio of P100 waveform amplitudes as the independent variable (x) and the binocular visual acuity ratio as the dependent variable (y) were made. Results There was a positive correlation between the binocular visual acuity ratio and the ratio of P100 waveform amplitudes under 15' stimulating visual angle (Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.62, P=0.000). The fitting linear regression equation was y=0.090 x+0.846 (F=20.954, P=0.000). There was no significant correlation between the binocular ratio of visual acuity and the binocular ratio of P100 waveform amplitudes under 1° stimulating visual angle (P>0.05). Results of return test showed that there was no statistical significance in the difference between visual acuity estimated by equation and actual detected visual acuity. Conclusion In forensic appraisal of monocular injury, fitting linear regression equation of binocular visual acuity ratio and the binocular ratio of P100 waveform amplitudes under 15' stimulating visual angle, is helpful for visual acuity level estimation of the injured eye to some extent.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the histopathological features of different opportunistic infections and tumors of the intestinal mucosa in AIDS patients, and to explore the correlation between different lesions and CD4+ T lymphocyte levels. Methods: Colonic mucosal biopsy specimens of 263 patients with clinically diagnosed AIDS and abdominal pain, diarrhea, blood in the stool and other gastrointestinal symptoms were collected from Beijing Ditan Hospital from 2010 to 2018. There were 232 males and 31 females, with age range 10-81 (mean 40±13) years. HE staining, histochemical special staining, immunohistochemical staining, and in-situ hybridization were used to detect the expression of different opportunistic infection pathogens, tumors and CD4+ T lymphocytes. Peripheral blood was also taken for CD4+ T lymphocytes, CD8+ T lymphocytes, HIV viral load and routine indicators. Results: The cohort included 263 intestinal mucosal biopsy specimens. There were 175 cases (66.5%) of non-specific inflammation, and pathogens were detected in 41 cases (15.6%), including 20 cases(7.6%) of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, 12 cases (4.6%) of mycobacterial infection, eight cases (3.0%) of amoeba infestation, and one case (0.3%) of talaromycesmarneffei infection; there were also 41 (15.6%) neoplastic lesions including 25 cases (9.5%) of intraepithelial neoplasia, 10 cases (3.8%) of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, six cases (2.3%) of lymphoma; and six cases (2.3%) of ulcerative colitis. The peripheral blood CD4+T lymphocyte levels of patients with CMV, mycobacteria and talaromycesmarneffei were less than 200/μL; the peripheral blood CD4+ T lymphocyte level (P<0.01) and intestinal mucosa CD4+T lymphocytes (P<0.01) were all significantly lower than those in patients with non-specific inflammation. The peripheral red blood cells and hemoglobin levels of patients with CMV and mycobacterial infection (P<0.01), adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma (P<0.05) were significantly lower than those of non-specific inflammation patients. Conclusions: Pathologic examination of intestinal mucosa can identify specific infections and neoplastic lesions in AIDS patients; the most common lesions are non-specific inflammation, and CMV infection is the most common opportunistic infections; CMV, mycobacteria and talaromycesmarneffei infections are associated with decreased levels of CD4+ T lymphocytes in peripheral blood and intestinal mucosa; entamoeba histolytica infestation and non-HIV-related neoplastic lesions such as intraepithelial neoplasia, adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are not associated with changes in AIDS immune function.

Abstract
X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is performed to study changes in the electronic structures of colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) and charged ordered (CO) La1-x Ca x MnO3 manganites with respect to temperature. The pre-edge features in O and Mn K-edge XAS spectra, which are highly sensitive to the local distortion of MnO6 octahedral, exhibit contrasting temperature dependence between CMR and CO samples. The seemingly counter-intuitive XAS temperature dependence can be reconciled in the context of polarons. These results help identify the most relevant orbital states associated with polarons and highlight the crucial role played by polarons in understanding the electronic structures of manganites.

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are emerging as important regulators of various physiological and pathological processes and may serve key roles in the maintenance of bone homeostasis via effects on osteoblast differentiation. The aim of the present study was to define the role of miR-877-3p in osteoblast differentiation using MC3T3-E1 cells, an osteoblast precursor cell line. It was demonstrated using RT-qPCR analysis that miR-877-3p was gradually increased in MC3T3-E1 cells during the osteoblastic differentiation induced by transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1. Gain-of-function and loss-of-function experiments revealed that the overexpression of miR-877-3p promoted the osteoblastic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells, whereas depletion of miR-877-3p inhibited this process in vitro and in vivo. Bioinformatics analysis and validation experiments demonstrated that Smad7, which acts as a negative regulator of osteogenesis, was a target of miR-877-3p. Furthermore, the overexpression of Smad7 partially reversed the osteoblastic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells induced by miR-877-3p. In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that the miR-877-3p/Smad7 axis is associated with the osteoblastic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells and may indicate a potential therapeutic approach for osteogenesis disorders.

Abstract
The Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of transcription (JAK/STAT) pathway plays a critical role in host defense against viral infections. Here, we report the use of the Drosophila model system to investigate the modulation of the JAK/STAT pathway by the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) protein WSV181. WSV181 overexpression in transgenic flies resulted in the downregulation of STAT92E and STAT92E-targeted genes. This result indicates that WSV181 can suppress JAK/STAT signaling by controlling STAT92E expression. An infection experiment was carried out on transgenic Drosophila infected with Drosophila C virus and on Litopenaeus vannamei injected with recombinant WSV181 and WSSV. The increased viral load and suppressed transcript levels of JAK/STAT pathway components indicate that WSV181 can promote viral proliferation by inhibiting the JAK/STAT pathway. This study provided evidence for the role of WSV181 in viral replication and revealed a new mechanism through which WSSV evades host immunity to maintain persistent infection.

Abstract
Complement C3 is a pivotal component of three cascades of complement activation. C3 in circulation is mainly provided by the hepatic cecum. The expression and secretion of C3 by hepatocytes is increased during acute inflammation. The detailed information on the regulationary mechanism underlying C3 transcriptional activation is limited. Here, we characterized the 5'-flanking region of the amphioxus C3 gene. To functionally analyze the upstream regulatory region of the C3 gene, a series of luciferase reporter gene constructs containing deleted or mutant regulatory elements were prepared. Using luciferase assay, we revealed that a potential C-JUN-1 binding sites within the proximal promoter region were necessary for full activation of the C3 promoter, whereas NF-κB, AP-1, C-JUN-2 and NFAT transcription factor binding sites played roles in governing the promoter activity at a homeostatic level. Our data also indicated that sp600125, a c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) inhibitor, decreased lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated C3 promoter activity, mRNA expression and protein secretion using western blotting and quantitative real-time PCR analysis. These findings demonstrated that JNK signaling pathway is involved in the regulation of C3 gene transcription by targeting C-JUN transcription factor binding sites in the 5'-flanking promoter region, leading to LPS-induced C3 activation and therefore providing a potential target for regulating C3 expression.

Abstract
Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that microRNAs (miRNAs) are frequently dysregulated in osteosarcoma (OS), and the aberrant expression of miRNAs is associated with OS initiation and progression. Previous studies demonstrated that miRNA‑466 (miR‑466) is dysregulated, and serves important roles in various types of human cancer. However, the role of miR‑466 in the formation and progression of OS remains unclear. In the present study, the expression level of miR‑466 was identified to be markedly downregulated in OS tissues and cell lines. Additionally, miR‑466 overexpression inhibited the proliferative and invasive abilities of OS cells. In the present study, bioinformatics analyses and luciferase assays were employed to show that miR‑466 was able to directly target the 3'‑untranslated region of insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) gene, negatively regulating the mRNA and the protein expression levels of IRS1 in OS cells. Furthermore, IRS1 was upregulated in OS tissues, and the increased expression level of IRS1 exhibited an inverse correlation with the expression level of miR‑466. Furthermore, IRS1 overexpression was able to partially reverse the suppressive effects of miR‑466 overexpression in OS cells. To the best of the authors' knowledge, the present study is the first to suggest that miR‑466 is downregulated in OS and inhibits the progression of OS by directly targeting IRS1. The present results suggested that miR‑466 may represent a novel potential therapeutic target for the treatment of patients with OS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Based on estrogen active substances, many women consume soy foods in the belief that it could prevent breast cancer (BC). Women with different molecular subtypes would be likely to have diverse reactions to soy foods, especially those with the estrogen-receptor-positive (ER+) subtype. The aim of the current study is to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) on soy foods in premenopausal patients with Lumina A subtype of BC (LABC) after soy food treatment, and to further investigate the critical molecule change. MATERIALS AND METHODS GSE58792 retrieved from Gene Expression Omnibus was analyzed to obtain DEGs using GEO2R. Gene Ontology and pathway enrichment analysis were performed using FunRich and GeneMINIA. Overall survival of critical genes was performed by the Kaplan-Meier plotter online tool. RESULTS A total of 108 DEGs were obtained from the dataset, among which 35 were up-regulated and 73 down-regulated. Soy foods significantly reduced the expression of TFF3, TFF1, GATA3, and ESR1, which were related to the activity of the ER-related pathway and the sensitivity of tamoxifen. Furthermore, the lower expressions of TOX3, FSIP1, ESR1, and CLGN were related to prolonged survival time of patients with BC. The most significant signaling pathways were epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in up-regulated DEGs, mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition, and mammary gland alveolus development in down-regulated DEGs, which were all related to the development and prognosis of BC. CONCLUSIONS Soy foods could dramatically alter the ER-related gene profile in LABC. Particularly, down-regulated DEGs of TFF3, TFF1, GATA3, and ESR1 might weaken the sensitivity of tamoxifen and increase the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in premenopausal patients with LABC.

METHODOLOGY A total of 94 eyes were randomly divided into control group (47 cases) and observation group (47 cases). Control group was treated with traditional phacoemulsification. The observation group was added with femtosecond laser based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical efficacy of two groups was compared. RESULTS Surgery time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group (p<0.001). Effective phacoemulsification time, cumulative dissipated energy, and liquid flow of the observation group were all less than those of the control group (all p<0.001). One day after surgery, aqueous flare and rate of corneal endothelium loss in the observation group were less than those of the control group (both p<0.001). Seven days after surgery, serum levels of IL-6, IL-1 and TNF- in the observation group were lower than those of the control group (all p<0.001). CONCLUSION Femtosecond laser-assisted phacoemulsification has better clinical effect in treating cataract, and can reduce the energy and time cost in the phacoemulsification, decrease the serum levels of inflammatory factors and cause less postoperative complications. But it takes longer operation time and relatively higher treatment cost.

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as pivotal regulators in various physiological and pathological processes at the post‑transcriptional level, and may serve important roles in osteogenic differentiation. However, their roles and functions are not fully understood. In the present study, miR‑223‑5p was identified as a modulator of osteoblastic differentiation in MC3T3‑E1 cells. Reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting demonstrated that miR‑223‑5p was significantly upregulated in MC3T3‑E1 cells following the induction of osteoblast differentiation. Overexpression of miR‑223‑5p promoted osteogenic differentiation both in vitro and vivo. Expression of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2), which acts as a negative regulator of osteogenesis, was regulated by miR‑223‑5p. Collectively, the results of the present study revealed a novel miR‑223‑5p/HDAC2 axis that regulates osteoblast differentiation, and may serve as a potential target for enhancing bone formation in vivo.

Abstract
Background Many novel drug delivery systems have been extensively studied to exploit the full therapeutic potential of SN38, which is one of the most potent antitumor analogs of camptothecins (CPTs), whose clinical application is seriously hindered by poor water solubility, low plasmatic stability, and severe toxicity, but results are always unsatisfactory. Methods In this study, combining the advantages of prodrug and nanotechnology, a lipophilic prodrug of SN38, SN38-PA, was developed by conjugating palmitic acid to SN38 via ester bond at C10 position, and then the lipophilic prodrug was encapsulated into a long-circulating liposomal carrier by film dispersion method. Results The SN38-PA liposomes were characterized as follows: an average particle size of 80.13 nm, an average zeta potential of -33.53 mv, and the entrapment efficiency of 99%. Compared with CPT-11, SN38-PA liposome was more stable in close lactone form, more efficient in conversion rate to SN38, and more potent in cytotoxicity against tumor cells. Pharmacokinetic study showed that SN38-PA liposome had significantly enhanced plasma half-life (t1/2) value of SN38 and increased area under the curve (AUC) of SN38, which was 7.5-fold higher than that of CPT-11. Biodistribution study showed that SN38-PA liposome had more active metabolite SN38 in each tissue. Finally, the pharmacodynamic study showed that SN38-PA liposome had higher antitumor effect with the antitumor inhibition rate of 1.61 times than that of CPT-11. Conclusion These encouraging data merit further investigation on this novel SN38-PA liposome.

Abstract
S-nitrosocaptopril (CapNO) possesses dual capacities of both Captopril and an NO donor with enhanced efficacy and reduced side effects. CapNO crystals are difficult to make due to its unstable S-NO bond. Here, we report a novel stable S-nitrosocaptopril monohydrate (CapNO·H2O) that is stabilized by intermolecular five-membered structure, where one H of H2O forms a hydrogen bond with O- of the stable resonance zwitterion Cap-S+=N-O-, and the O in H2O forms the dipole-dipole interaction with S+ through two unpaired electrons. With the chelation and common ion effect, we synthesized and characterized CapNO·H2O that is stable at 4 °C for 180 days and thereafter without significant degradation. Compared to Captopril, CapNO showed direct vasorelaxation and beneficial effect on PAH rats, and could be self-assembled in rat stomach when Captopril and NaNO2 were given separately. This novel CapNO·H2O with low entropy paves an avenue for its clinical trials and commercialization.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To explore the assessment method of original height of L1-2 after vertebral compression fracture and its application value in forensic clinical practice. METHODS A total of 154 normal thoracic and lumbar X-ray films were collected, and 140 cases were used as experimental group while 14 cases as validation group. The heights of anterior (Ha) and posterior (Hp) vertebral body of T₁₂-L₃ vertebrae in each X-ray image were measured. In the experimental group, the correlation analysis between HaL₁ and HaT₁₂, HpT₁₂, HpL₁, HaL₂ and HpL₂ was carried out, and regression equation was established via fitting. The correlation analysis between HaL₂ and HaL₁, HpL₁, HpL₂, HaL₃, HpL₃ was performed, and the regression equation was also established via fitting. The difference between the predicted and measured values of HaL₁ and HaL₂ in validation group was compared. RESULTS In the 140 normal subjects, HaL₁ (y₁) was well correlated with HaT₁₂ (x₁) and HaL₂(x₂), and the multiple linear regression equation was y₁=2.545+0.423 x₁+0.486 x₂ (determining coefficient R²=0.712, P<0.05; F=169.206, P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the predicted and actual measured values of HaL₁ in the validation group ( P>0.05). HaL₂ (y₂) was well correlated with HaL₁ (x₃) and HaL₃ (x₄), and the multiple linear regression equation was y₂=4.354+0.530 x₃+0.349 x₄ (determining coefficient R²=0.689, P<0.05; F=151.575, P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the predicted and actual measured values of HaL₂ in the validation group ( P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS It is more appropriate to evaluate the original height of L₁ or L₂ single vertebrae by comparing with the height of the anterior edge of the upper and lower adjacent vertebral bodies.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Currently, studies have shown that microRNA-93 (miR-93) can be an oncogene or a tumor suppressor in different kinds of cancers. The role of miR-93 in human cancers is inconsistent and the underlying mechanism on the aberrant expression of miR-93 is complicated. METHODS We first conducted gene enrichment analysis to give insight into the prospective mechanism of miR-93. Second, we performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the clinical value of miR-93. Finally, a validation test based on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was performed to further investigate the role of miR-93 in pan-cancer. RESULTS Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis results showed that the target genes of miR-93 were closely related to transcription, and MAPK1, RBBP7 and Smad7 became the hub genes. In the diagnostic meta-analysis, the overall sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve were 0.76 (0.64-0.85), 0.82 (0.64-0.92), and 0.85 (0.82-0.88), respectively, which suggested that miR-93 had excellent performance on the diagnosis for human cancers. In the prognostic meta-analysis, dysregulated miR-93 was found to be associated with poor OS in cancer patients. In the qPCR validation test, the serum levels of miR-93 were upregulated in breast cancer, breast hyperplasia, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, nasopharyngeal cancer, hepatocellular cancer, gastric ulcer, endometrial cancer, esophageal cancer, laryngeal cancer, and prostate cancer compared with healthy controls. CONCLUSIONS miR-93 could act as an effective diagnostic and prognostic factor for cancer patients. Its clinical value for cancer early diagnosis and survival prediction is promising.

Abstract
Background Vectors are essential for successful gene delivery. In the present study, a tumor-targeting cationic gene vector, known as the disulfide cross-linked arginine-aspartic acid peptide modified by HAIYPRH (T7) peptide (CRD-PEG-T7), was designed for targeted delivery of plasmid DNA (pDNA) for gene therapy of prostate cancer (PCa). Methods The structure of CRD-PEG-T7 was determined and the cellular uptake efficacy, gene transfection efficacy, cytotoxicity, and the targeting effect of the CRD-PEG-T7–plasmid DNA complex were examined. Results The results demonstrated that the CRD-PEG-T7–plasmid DNA complex was nanosized and had a positively charged surface, good cellular uptake efficacy, minimal cytotoxicity, and a dual-targeting effect as compared with the CRD-PEG–plasmid DNA complex. The peptide T7-modifed new delivery system was able to target the highly expressed transferrin receptor (TfR) on tumor cells with an efficiency four-fold higher than that of the non-modified system. Conclusion The results above indicatd that the CRD-PEG-T7–plasmid DNA complex may prove to be a promising gene delivery system targeting bone-metastatic tumor.

Abstract
Electrically actuated ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) were designed and prototyped using shape memory textile composites. Acrylic copolymers were synthesized as the matrix to demonstrate shape memory effects, whereas electrothermal fabrics were embedded to generate uniform heat as a trigger. Superior to conventional polymeric orthoses, shape memory AFOs (SM-AFOs) could be repeatedly programmed at least 20 times with stable shape fixity and recovery. Evidenced by clinical practice, SM-AFOs were effectively actuated at 10 V, allowing the correction of ankle angles with 10° plantarflexion. Ultimately, we envision a smart orthopedic system that can advance progressive rehabilitation with manipulation under safe and convenient conditions.

Abstract
Little is known about how the coral host and its endosymbiont interactions change when they are exposed to a sudden nonlinear environmental transformation, yet this is crucial to coral survival in extreme events. Here, we present a study that investigates the transcriptomic response of corals and their endosymbionts to an abrupt change in pH (pH 7.60 and 8.35). The transcriptome indicates that the endosymbiont demonstrates a synchronized downregulation in carbon acquisition and fixation processes and may result in photosynthetic dysfunction in endosymbiotic Symbiodinium, suggesting that the mutualistic continuum of coral-algae interactions is compromised in response to high-CO2 exposure. Transcriptomic data also shows that corals are still capable of calcifying in response to the low pH but could experience a series of negative effects on their energy dynamics, which including protein damage, DNA repair, ion transport, cellular apoptosis, calcification acclimation and maintenance of intracellular pH homeostasis and stress tolerance to pH swing. This suggests enhanced energy costs for coral metabolic adaptation. This study provides a deeper understanding of the biological basis related to the symbiotic corals in response to extreme future climate change and environmental variability.

Abstract
Background To quantify the size and angle of the medial and lateral facets of the ulnar coronoid process by reformatted computed tomography (CT) imaging. Methods Elbow CT images were retrospectively selected from the picture archiving and communication system in our hospital over a 5-year period (January 2011 to December 2015). The widths, heights, gradient and tilt angles of both the medial and lateral facet of the ulnar coronoid process were measured using two-dimensional (2D) reformations of CT images. Results Our database research yielded 120 elbow joints (53 right, 67 left) of 120 patients (54 males, 66 females) which fulfilled our criteria. The average width of the two facets of the ulnar coronoid process were 13.34±1.85 mm for the medial facet and 8.39±1.29 mm for the lateral facet. The average height of the medial facet was 18.45±3.38 mm and the lateral facet was 17.55±3.81 mm. The average tilt angles of medial and lateral facet were 80.34°±7.71° and 98.78°±5.71° respectively. The average gradient angles of the medial and lateral facet ridge were 60.02°±8.78° and 36.97°±4.99° respectively. The length of the lateral facet ridge was longer than the medial facet ridge. Conclusions Reformatted CT images allow for multiple, accurate measurements of facets on the ulnar coronoid process. These measurements can be applied to guiding appropriate surgical interventions for fractures in this area.

Abstract
We present magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity, and neutron diffraction measurements of polycrystalline Nd2Ru2O7 down to 0.4 K. Three anomalies in the magnetic susceptibility measurements at 146, 21 and 1.8 K are associated with an antiferromagnetic ordering of the Ru4+ moments, a weak ferromagnetic signal attributed to a canting of the Ru4+ and Nd3+ moments, and a long-range-ordering of the Nd3+ moments, respectively. The long-range order of the Nd3+ moments was observed in all the measurements, indicating that the ground state of the compound is not a spin glass. The magnetic entropy of Rln2 accumulated up to 5 K, suggests the Nd3+ has a doublet ground state. Lattice distortions accompany the transitions, as revealed by neutron diffraction measurements, and in agreement with earlier synchrotron x-ray studies. The magnetic moment of the Nd3+ ion at 0.4 K is estimated to be 1.54(2)µ B and the magnetic structure is all-in all-out as determined by our neutron diffraction measurements.

Abstract
Binocular vision refers to a progress of analysing and integrating the binocular visual signals into a whole and three-dimensional sensory perception by higher nerve centre. In this process, the interac- tion between the two eyes results in the changes of output signal, which is called binocular interaction. Through a series of subjective and objective experiments, it can be concluded that binocular interaction can be divided into three types: facilitation, summation and suppression, and the forms of binocular interaction in different visual states are different. In general, the visual signal is processed by binocular interaction, so that there are some differences between binocular vision and monocular vision. The extent of the difference can be affected by the damage of monocular vision and then affects the binocular vision. Thus, it is necessary for forensic scientists to further study the effects of the monocular visual impairment on visual function. Based on relevant data, this paper reviews the mechanism of the monocular visual impairment in binocular vision, the research methods and the application prospect in forensic science.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignances worldwide. Chemoresistance remains a major issue in the field of CRC treatment. The present study aimed to investigate the potential role of polo-like kinase 2 (Plk2) in chemoresistance in CRC. The associations between Plk2 and clinicopathological factors, as well as chemotherapeutic benefit were analyzed with a publicly available CRC dataset. The correlation between Plk2 expression and chemosensitivity was further confirmed in CRC cells. Moreover, knockdown and exogenous overexpression experiments of Plk2 were carried out to uncover the potential role of Plk2 in regulating the chemoresistance of CRC cells. We found that the expression of Plk2 was significantly associated with proximally located tumors. In addition, it was found that high expression ofPlk2 was associated with deficient mismatch repair status, B-raf serine/threonine kinase proto-oncogeneand Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog mutations. By contrast, tumor protein 53 mutation was correlated with a low expression level of Plk2. A higher expression level of Plk2 significantly predicted a poorer outcome in patients with CRC. However, the prognostic significance was only observed in patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy. In CRC cells, higher levels of Plk2 were associated with increased resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Knocking down the expression of Plk2 resulted in elevated cellular apoptosis induced by oxaliplatin. By contrast, exogenous overexpression of Plk2 exerted an anti-apoptotic effect and enhanced the resistance of CRC cells to chemotherapeutic agents. In conclusion, a high expression of Plk2 was associated with chemoresistant traits of CRC through inhibiting apoptosis. These results suggested that Plk2 may serve as a predictive marker for chemoresistance and a novel target in CRC treatment.

Abstract
Tubuliform silk is one of the seven different types of spider silks, which is well known for its unique tensile behaviour with Flat Tensile Stress⁻Strain (FTSS) curve. It is found that anisotropic microstructure of β-sheets is responsible for this property. In recent years, bioinspired approaches to engineer fibres supported by modern manufacturing systems have been attracting considerable interest. The present paper aims to investigate a strategy to biomimic the FTSS behaviour of tubuliform silk in synthetic polymer composite fibres by blending polyurethane (PU) and regenerated silk fibroin (RSF) at different ratios. Wet spinning of composite fibres results in the reconstruction of β-sheets in the synthetic fibre matrix. PU/RSF composite fibre at a ratio of 75/25 produce a tensile curve with FTSS characteristics. Secondary structural changes in RSF and interchain directions of β-sheets within the fibre are studied using Fourier Transform Infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), respectively. Interestingly, results of TEM patterns confirm transverse anisotropic properties of RSF β-sheets. The composite fibres also display tuneable mechanical properties with respect to RSF contents.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate risk factors for delayed gastric emptying(DGE)following pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD). Methods: There were 492 consecutive patients who underwent PD in Pancreas Center, the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University between January 2012 and December 2014 were identified from a prospective database. There were 315 male and 177 female patients with a median age of 60.5 years.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to investigate the independent risk factors for clinically relevant DGE(CR-DGE). Results: The overall incidence of DGE was 29.5%, with Grade B and C occurring at 4.3% and 5.9%, respectively. In multivariate analysis, pancreatic duct diameter less than 3 mm(OR=1.888, P=0.042), pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy(OR=2.627, P=0.005) and clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula(OR=2.740, P=0.007) were independently associated with CR-DGE.Other main complications such as postoperative pancreatic fistula, pyoperitoneum, intraabdominal infection were also associated with the severity of DGE(χ(2)=21.360, 14.422, 14.378; P=0.011, 0.002, 0.002). DGE patients had a significantly prolonged postoperative length of stay(31(24-41)d vs. 13(11-17)d) and increased medical cost((122 367.5±66 068.3)yuan vs. (78 200.7±27 043.9)yuan)(both P<0.01). Conclusions: Small pancreatic duct, underwent pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy and suffered postoperative pancreatic fistula might indicate a high risk of CR-DGE.

Abstract
NF-κB signaling pathway is an evolutionarily conserved pathway that plays highly important roles in several developmental, cellular and immune response processes. With the recent release of the draft Pacific oyster (Crassostra gigas) genome sequence, we have sought to identify the various components of the NF-κB signaling pathway in these mollusks and investigate their gene structure. We further constructed phylogenetic trees to establish the evolutionary relationship of the oyster proteins with their homologues in vertebrates and invertebrates using BLASTX and neighbor-joining method. We report the presence of two classic NF-κB/Rel homologues in the pacific oyster namely Cgp100 and CgRel, which possess characteristic RHD domain and a consensus nuclear localization signal, similar to mammalian homologues and an additional CgRel-like protein, unique to C. gigas. Further, in addition to two classical IκB homologues, CgIκB1 and CgIκB2, we have identified three atypical IκB family members namely CgIκB3, CgIκB4 and CgBCL3 which lack the IκB degradation motif and consist of only one exon that might have arisen by retrotransposition from CgIκB1. Finally, we report the presence of three IKKs and one NEMO genes in oyster genome, named CgIKK1, CgIKK2, CgIKK3 and CgNEMO, respectively. While CgIKK1 and CgIKK3 domain structure is similar to their mammalian homologues, CgIKK2 was found to lack the HLH and NBD domains. Overall, the high conservation of the NF-κB/Rel, IκB and IKK family components in the pacific oyster and their structural similarity to the vertebrate and invertebrate homologues underline the functional importance of this pathway in regulation of critical cellular processes across species.

Abstract
Spider silks are attractive biopolymers due to their excellent mechanical properties and biomimetic potential. To optimize the electrostatic interaction for lysosomal drug delivery, a spider-eggcase-silk protein was genetically engineered using 5× His Tag with a tailor-made isoelectric point of 4.8. By a facile HFIP-on-oil method, silk spheres were assembled as rapidly as 10 s. After the post-treatment of ethanol, silk spheres were determined with an improved compressive modulus by AFM indentation. Under incubation of silk spheres in a Doxorubicin solution, a maximum of 35% loading and average of 30% loading efficiency were determined. In the cytotoxicity experiment, silk spheres exhibited intrinsic biocompatibility and showed good control of the loaded drug in the neutral PBS solution. Significantly, by 96 h, the accumulative drug release at pH 4.5 was approximately 4.5-fold higher than that at pH 7.4. By conducting the platelet adhesion and hemolysis assay, Doxorubicin-loaded silk spheres exhibited good hemocompatibility. To further demonstrate this release behavior, within 24 h, Doxorubicin-loaded silk spheres were efficiently delivered to lysosomes and then released the payload to the nuclei of Hela cells. Recombinant spider-eggcase-silk spheres are facilely prepared as drug carriers with a tailor-made isoelectric point specifically for lysosomal delivery.![]()

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To study the characteristic of contrast visual evoked potentials (CVEP) in patients with ocular trauma. METHODS Sixty patients defined as ocular trauma by forensic clinical examination in our center were selected, and split into 0.2-0.3 (Group A), 0.3-0.5 (Group B) and ≥0.5 (Group C) according to the best corrected visual acuity. The variation characteristics of wave amplitude and latency of CVEP under 100%, 25% and 10% contrast were observed and analyzed statistically. RESULTS (1) Under the same contrast, the wave amplitude of P₁₀₀ decreased with the decrease of stimulus perspective. (2) Under the same stimulus perspective, the wave amplitude of P₁₀₀ decreased with the decrease of contrast (P<0.05). (3) Under the contrast of 100% and 25% with the same stimulus perspective (except 100% 7' perspective stimulus), the difference between group A and group B had no statistical significance (P>0.05). Between group A and group C, group B and group C, the wave amplitude of P₁₀₀ gradually increased with the increase of vision (P<0.05). Under the contrast of 10% with 15' stimulus perspective, the wave amplitude of P₁₀₀ increased with the increase of vision (P<0.05). (4) Under the same contrast with the same stimulation perspective, the latency of P₁₀₀ wave shortened with the increase of vision, while the difference had no statistical significance (P>0.05). Under the same stimulus perspective, the latency of P₁₀₀ wave was prolonged with the decrease of contrast (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS CVEP may become one of the possible methods for the evaluation of contrast visual acuity.

Abstract
Three novel compounds, 4-methyl-candidusin A (1), aspetritone A (2) and aspetritone B (3), were obtained from the culture of a coral-derived fungus Aspergillus tritici SP2-8-1, together with fifteen known compounds (4–18). Their structures, including absolute configurations, were assigned based on NMR, MS, and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) ECD calculations. Compounds 2 and 5 exhibited better activities against methicillin-resistant strains of S. aureus (MRSA) ATCC 43300 and MRSA CGMCC 1.12409 than the positive control chloramphenicol. Compound 5 displayed stronger anti-MRSA and lower cytotoxic activities than 2, and showed stronger antibacterial activities against strains of Vibrio vulnificus, Vibrio rotiferianus, and Vibrio campbellii than the other compounds. Compounds 2 and 10 exhibited significantly stronger cytotoxic activities against human cancer cell lines HeLa, A549, and Hep G2 than the other compounds. Preliminary structure–activity relationship studies indicated that prenylation of terphenyllin or candidusin and the tetrahydrobenzene moiety in anthraquinone derivatives may influence their bioactivity.

Abstract
The striped stem borer, Chilo suppressalis Walker (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), is one of the most serious rice pests. Besides attacking rice, it also feeds on an economically important vegetable crop, water-oat Zizania latifolia. The species feeding on water-oat has higher growth and survival rate than those on rice, suggesting their success in adaptation to the new host plant. However, little is known about the molecular mechanisms of host plant adaptation. Here we investigated the midgut transcriptome responses of C. suppressalis larvae reared on rice and water-oat. A total of 1,633 differentially expressed genes were identified, with a greater number up-regulated on the more delicious new host. The up-regulation of most digestive and detoxification-related genes may be the result of adaptation to the changes in nutritional requirements and toxic chemicals during host shift. In contrast, down-regulation of ribosomal genes may be related to their better development performance when feeding on the new host. In conclusion, our results suggest that transcriptional regulation of genes related to digestion, detoxification and ribosome may play an important role in adaptation of C. suppressalis to a new host plant.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To compare the differences between Hertel exophthalmometry and CT on exophthalmos measurement, and explore its practical application value in forensic medicine. METHODS Fifty-six normal individuals without eye injuries or diseases were selected as the control group. The absolute values of exophthalmos were measured in the standardized CT image workstation. The difference of binocular exophthalmos was compared in normal group. Forty-seven cases with unilateral orbital fracture were divided into injured eye group and normal eye group according to the presence of binocular orbital fractures. The differences of the absolute values of eophthalmos from the same eye and the relative values of eophthalmos between two eyes for same person measured by Hertel exophthalmometry and CT were analyzed. RESULTS There was no statistical difference of exophthalmos between the normal eyes measured by CT method. In the normal eye group, the absolute value of exophthalmos measured by CT method was (16.66±5.41) mm, which was (16.16±4.45) mm when measured by the Hertel exophthalmometry method. There was no statistical difference between two groups (P>0.05). In the injured eye group, there was statistical difference between the absolute values of exophthalmos measured by two measurement methods ( P<0.05). There was no statistical difference of the relative values of exophthalmos between the injured eyes and the normal eyes by two measurement methods (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS CT method has a good consistency with Hertel exophthalmometry, which can be applied into the practice of medicolegal expertise.

Abstract
Objective: The Notch signaling pathway is closely related to biliary fibrosis. Previous studies have shown that Astragaloside (AS) can prevent the progression of cholestatic liver fibrosis. The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of AS on the regulation of Notch signaling pathway in biliary fibrosis. Methods: Cholestatic liver fibrosis was established by common bile duct ligation (BDL) in rats. Two weeks after BDL, the rats were randomly divided into a model group (i.e., BDL), an Astragalosides group (AS), and a sorafenib (SORA) positive control group and treated for 3 weeks. Bile duct proliferation and liver fibrosis were determined by tissue staining. Protein and gene expression were determined by immunostaining, immunoblotting and RT-PCR, respectively. Activation of the Notch signaling pathway was evaluated by analyzing expressions of Notch-1, -2, -3, -4, Jagged (JAG)1, Delta like (DLL)-1, -3, -4, Hes1, Numb and RBP-Jκ. Statistical analysis of variance analysis, q test, P < 0.05 showed that the difference was statistically significant. Results: (1) AS significantly reduced the deposition of collagen and the Hyp content of liver tissue (500.15 ± 86.10 vs. 625.72 ± 105.62, P = 0.031), and inhibited the activation of hepatic stellate cells. (2) AS significantly decreased the protein and mRNA expressions of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 (1.02±0.15 vs. 1.89±0.36, P = 0.007; 1.17±0.18 vs. 1.68±0.29, P = 0.013, respectively) and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA, 0.41±0.11 vs. 0.72±0.16, P = 0.003; 1.71±0.57 vs. 2.68±0.46, P = 0.008, respectively) compared with BDL group. In contrast, AS significantly enhanced expression of the Smad 7 protein compared with the BDL group (0.72±0.008 vs. 0.33±0.001, P = 0.005). AS also reduced biliary epithelial cell proliferation. AS reduced the mRNA levels of CK7, CK8 and CK18 (1.31±0.39 vs. 2.63±0.82, P = 0.009; 0.71±0.09 vs. 0.87±0.08, P = 0.031; 2.56±0.32 vs. 3.41±0.39, P = 0.010, respectively) and reduced the positive areas of CK19 and OV6 (62 337.17±21 873.38 vs. 22 5472.67±26 933.63, P = 0.000; 92 237.43±15 894.11 vs. 171 298.13±61 761.37, P = 0.000, respectively). (3) The mRNA expression of Notch-2, -3, -4 and JAG1 were significantly reduced in the AS group compared to the BDL group (1.07±0.19 vs. 1.51±0.28, P = 0.044; 0.99±0.24 vs. 1.18±0.10, P = 0.043; 1.36±0.42 vs. 3.40±0.44, P = 0.048; 2.62±0.43 vs. 3.73±0.83, P = 0.046, respectively). In contrast, the mRNA level of Numb was clearly enhanced after AS treatment (0.90±0.05 vs. 0.75±0.11, P = 0.019). In addition, consistent with the mRNA levels, the protein expressions of Notch-2, -3, -4 and JAG1 were reduced significantly (1.27±0.18 vs. 1.71±0.26, P = 0.004; 0.99±0.11 vs. 4.38±0.60, P = 0.001; 1.76±0.32 vs. 4.01±0.74, P = 0.002; 1.62±0.33 vs. 2.74±0.63, P = 0.002) and the Numb protein level was increased significantly (1.50±0.15 vs. 0.85±0.11, P = 0.001) in AS group compared with BDL group. Conclusion: AS may prevent cholestatic liver fibrosis via inhibition of the Notch signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting the abnormal proliferation of biliary epithelial cells. Results indicate that AS may be a potential treatment for cholestatic liver disease.

Abstract
The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades stand for one of the most important signaling mechanisms in response to environmental stimuli. In the present study, we cloned and identified for the first time the full-length cDNA of MAPK kinase kinase 4 (TgMEKK4) from Blood clam Tegillarca granosa using rapid amplification of cDNA ends method. The full-length cDNA of TgMEKK4 was of 1605 bp in length, encoding a polypeptide of 364 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 41.22 kDa and theoretical isoelectric point of 6.29. The conserved MEKK4-domain was identified in TgMEKK4 by SMART program analysis. Homology analysis of the deduced amino acid sequence of TgMEKK4 with other known sequences revealed that TgMEKK4 shared 58%-80% identity to MEKK4s from other species. TgMEKK4 mRNA transcripts could be detected in all tissues examined with the highest expression level in the gill by qRT-PCR. The mRNA expression of TgMEKK4 was up-regulated significantly in hemocytes after Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio alginolyticus and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenges. Overexpression of TgMEKK4 in HEK 293T cells resulted in the activation of JNK and ERK, but not p38. Consistently, In vivo study indicated that LPS stimulation enhanced JNK, ERK and p38 phosphorylation in blood clams. These results suggest that TgMEKK4 is a powerful factor in the regulation of genes that may be involved in innate immune response of blood clam.

Abstract
The world production of shrimp is seriously affected by the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV). Viral immediate-early (IE) genes encode regulatory proteins critical for the viral lifecycle. In spite of their importance, only five out of the 21 identified WSSV IE genes are functionally characterized. Here, we report the use of Drosophila melanogaster as a model to explore the role of WSSV IE gene wsv187. In vivo expression of WSV187 in transgenic flies show WSV187 localized in the cytoplasm. Overexpression of wsv187 results wing defects consistent with phenotypes observed in JAK/STAT exacerbated flies. After artificial infection of the DCV virus, the flies expressing wsv187 showed a lower viral load, a higher survival rate and an up-regulated STAT92E expression. These data demonstrate wsv187 plays a role in the controlling of virus replication by activating host JAK/STAT pathway.

Abstract
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasms originating from the gastrointestinal tract with gain of function mutations in receptor tyrosine kinases KIT or platelet-derived growth factor receptor A (PDGFRA). The main effective treatment for GISTs is tyrosine kinase inhibitors, such as imatinib mesylate. However, GISTs respond to imatinib treatment eventually develop acquired resistance, which is a main obstacle for GISTs therapy. Therefore, it's urgent to have a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the imatinib resistance in GISTs to develop novel therapeutic strategies. X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP) is the most potent apoptosis inhibitor among the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family members. Increased cellular expression of XIAP often leads to drug resistance in cancers. Here we report that XIAP is induced upon imatinb treatment in GIST882 cells, leading to imatinib-induced autophagy. Imatinib-induced autophagy was impaired in XIAP-knockout cells generated by CRISPR/Cas9 system demonstrated by the decreasing of LC3 lipidation. XIAP knockout sensitizes GIST882 cells to imatinib-induced apoptotic cell death, suggesting that XIAP protects GIST882 cells from imatinib-induced cell death by inducing autophagy. Thus, the resistance of the GIST882 cells to imatinib appears to be, in part, due to the increasing of XIAP and subsequent induction of autophagy.

Abstract
A novel anthraquinone, 2-(dimethoxymethyl)-1-hydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione (1), together with nine known compounds (2-10), were isolated from the fermentation of Aspergillus versicolor derived from deep sea sediment. Their structures were established through spectroscopic methods. Compound 1 exhibited strong inhibitory activities against MRSA ATCC 43300 and MRSA CGMCC 1.12409 (with MIC values of 3.9 and 7.8 μg/mL respectively) and moderate activities against tested strains of Vibrio (with MIC values ranging from 15.6 to 62.5 μg/mL). Compound 1 was subjected to molecular docking studies for inhibition of topoisomerase IV and AmpC β-lactamase enzymes indicating its usefulness as antimicrobial agent.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical effect of a novel artery first and uncinate process first approach for laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy(LPD), emphasizing the left lateral and posterior dissection of uncinate process (UP) via Treitz ligament approach. Methods: From April to November 2016, 18 patients received LPD with a novel approach in Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University. All patients were diagnosed as pancreatic head or peri-ampulla tumor, without major vessel invasion nor distant metastasis. For resection, routine caudal view was used in the first step, to dissect the anterior medial border between uncinate process and superior mesenteric vein(SMV). Lymphatic tissues were completely dissected form anterior surface of hepatoduodenal ligament. In the second step, left lateral view with camera from left para-umbilical trocar was used, Treitz ligament was incised, SMA root was exposed. After anticlockwise rotation and retraction of mesentery, the anatomic relationship between SMA trunk, inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery(IPDA), jejunal branch of SMV, and distal part of UP, could be perfectly exposed from left lateral view. SMA was dissected from its root until the position above the uncinate process and duodenum, IPDA was transected, distal part of UP was freed from SMA. In the third step, right lateral view and caudal view were alternatively used; proximal UP mesentery was completely dissected out from SMA root, CA root and posterior surface of hepatoduodenal ligament. Pancreaticoduodenectomy was completed in the forth step after transection of pancreatic neck and common hepatic duct. Results: The SMA root and distal UP were successfully dissected out via Treitz ligament approach in all 18 patients, among them, distal UP was completely excised in 8 patients from left view. Postoperative pathology showed R0 resection rate in 69%. Postoperative complication included intra-abdominal hemorrhage in 1 patient, pancreatic fistula in 7 patients(6 cases with grade A and 1 case with grade B), delayed gastric emptying in 4 patients (2 cases with grade A, 2 cases with grade B). Average postoperative hospital stay was (15.5±6.8)days. Conclusion: The novel artery first and uncinate process first approach through Treitz ligament could help surgeons to completely dissect the full length of meso-pancreas along celiac axis-SMA axis in LPD.
