Abstract
BACKGROUND Direct-acting Antiviral Agents (DAAs) influence serum lipids of patients with Hepatitis C virus (HCV). This paper presents an analysis of the relevant literature to investigate the effects of DAAs in treating hepatitis C to achieve a sustained viral response (SVR) on lipid parameters. METHODS PubMed,Web of science, Embase and Central databases were searched, with a deadline of September 2023. Studies on the effects of sustained viral response on lipid parameters after DAAs treatment for hepatitis C were selected. The required information was extracted from the included studies, and then the Stata 12.0 was used to analyze the data quantitatively. RESULTS Of 32 studies, the results showed that total cholesterol (TC) levels increased from the end of treatment (WMD = 20.144, 95%CI = 3.404, 36.884,P = 0.018) to one year after treatment (WMD = 24.900, 95%CI = 13.669, 36.131, P < 0.001). From the end of treatment (WMD = 17.728, 95%CI = 4.375, 31.082, P = 0.009) to one year after treatment (WMD = 18.528, 95%CI = 7.622, 29.433, P < 0.001), the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) were also increased. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels were elevated from 4 weeks after treatment (WMD = 6.665, 95%CI = 3.906, 9.424, P < 0.001) to 24 weeks after treatment (WMD = 3.159,95% CI = 0.176, 6.142, P = 0.038). Triglyceride (TG) levels showed no significant change after the treatment. CONCLUSIONS Hepatitis C patients who achieved SVR on DAAs showed the increase of lipid levels and the improvement of hepatic inflammation indicators AST and ALT. This may provide evidence-based medical evidence for the follow-up and monitoring of blood lipids and hyperlipidemia treatment. REGISTRATION PROSPERO CRD42020180793.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the impact of preemptive analgesia with ibuprofen on postoperative pain following the extraction of impacted mandibular third molars in a Chinese population, aiming to provide a clinical reference for its application. Methods: This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel-group trial was conducted from April 2022 to October 2023 at the Capital Medical University School of Stomatology (40 cases), Beijing TianTan Hospital, Capital Medical University (22 cases), and Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital, Capital Medical University (20 cases). It included 82 patients with impacted mandibular third molars, with 41 in the ibuprofen group and 41 in the control group. Participants in the ibuprofen group received 300 mg of sustained-release ibuprofen capsules orally 15 min before surgery, while the control group received a placebo. Both groups were instructed to take sustained-release ibuprofen capsules as planned for 3 days post-surgery. Pain intensity was measured using the numerical rating scale at 30 min, 4 h, 6 h, 8 h, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after surgery, and the use of additional analgesic medication was recorded during days 4 to 6 postoperatively. Results: All 82 patients completed the study according to the protocol. No adverse events such as nausea, vomiting, or allergies were reported in either group during the trial. The ibuprofen group exhibited significantly lower pain scores at 4 h [2.0 (1.0, 4.0) vs. 4.0 (3.0, 5.0)] (Z=-3.73, P<0.001), 6 h [2.0 (1.0, 4.0) vs. 5.0(2.5, 6.0)] (Z=-3.38, P<0.001), and 8 h [2.0 (1.0, 4.0) vs. 5.0 (2.0, 6.0)] (Z=-2.11, P=0.035) postoperatively compared to the control group. There were no statistically significant differences in pain scores between the groups at 30 min, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h postoperatively (P>0.05). Additionally, 11 out of 41 patients (26.8%) in the ibuprofen group and 23 out of 41 patients (56.1%) in the control group required extra analgesic medication between days 4 and 6 post-surgery, with the ibuprofen group taking significantly fewer additional pills [0.0 (0.0, 1.0) vs. 1.0 (0.0, 3.0)] (Z=-2.81, P=0.005). Conclusions: A pain management regimen involving 300 mg of oral sustained-release ibuprofen capsules administered 15 minutes before surgery and continued for 3 d postoperatively effectively reduces pain levels and the total amount of analgesic medication used after the extraction of impacted mandibular third molars. Considering its efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness, ibuprofen is recommended as a first-line drug for perioperative pain management, enhancing patient comfort during diagnosis and treatment in a feasible manner.

Abstract
Pyroptosis mediated by gasdermin protein has shown great potential in cancer immunotherapies. However, the low expression of gasdermin proteins and the systemic toxicity of nonspecific pyroptosis limit its clinical application. Here, we designed a synthetic biology strategy to construct a tumor-specific pyroptosis-inducing nanoplatform M-CNP/Mn@pPHS, in which a pyroptosis-inducing plasmid (pPHS) was loaded onto a manganese (Mn)-doped calcium carbonate nanoparticle and wrapped in a tumor-derived cell membrane. M-CNP/Mn@pPHS showed an efficient tumor targeting ability. After its internalization by tumor cells, the degradation of M-CNP/Mn@pPHS in the acidic endosomal environment allowed the efficient endosomal escape of plasmid pPHS. To trigger tumor-specific pyroptosis, pPHS was designed according to the logic "AND gate circuit" strategy, with Hif-1α and Sox4 as two input signals and gasdermin D induced pyroptosis as output signal. Only in cells with high expression of Hif-1α and Sox4 simultaneously will the output signal gasdermin D be expressed. Since Hif-1α and Sox4 are both specifically expressed in tumor cells, M-CNP/Mn@pPHS induces the tumor-specific expression of gasdermin D and thus pyroptosis, triggering an efficient immune response with little systemic toxicity. The Mn2+ released from the nanoplatform further enhanced the antitumor immune response by stimulating the cGAS-STING pathway. Thus, M-CNP/Mn@pPHS efficiently inhibited tumor growth with 79.8% tumor regression in vivo. We demonstrate that this logic "AND gate circuit"-based gasdermin nanoplatform is a promising strategy for inducing tumor-specific pyroptosis with little systemic toxicity.

Abstract
A 65-year-old male patient was admitted for recurrent lymph node enlargement for 5 years and elevated creatinine for 6 months. This patient was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma 5 years ago and underwent multiple lines of anti-tumor therapy, including cytotoxic chemotherapy; epigenetic modifying drugs such as chidamide and azacitidine; the immunomodulator lenalidomide; and targeted therapy such as rituximab, a CD20-targeting antibody, and brentuximab vedotin, which targets CD30. Although the tumor was considered stable, multiple virus activation (including BK virus, JC virus, and cytomegalovirus) accompanied by the corresponding organ damage (polyomavirus nephropathy, cytomegalovirus retinitis, and progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy) occurred during anti-tumor treatment. Anti-tumor therapy was suspended and ganciclovir was used. The serum viral load decreased and organ functions were stabilized. The purpose of this report was to raise clinicians' awareness of opportunistic virus reactivation during anti-tumor treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mediastinitis and sternal osteitis are critical complications in cardiac surgery. Cases of these complications caused by Mycoplasma hominis are extremely rare. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of mediastinitis and sternal osteitis caused by M. hominis infection following ascending aortic replacement surgery. Whole gene sequencing analysis suggested the genitourinary tract as the most likely source of this M. hominis infection. Successful infection control was achieved through a regimen of moxifloxacin treatment. Additionally, a notable correlation was observed between serum levels of interleukin-6 and M. hominis infection. CONCLUSIONS The significance of M. hominis as a potential cause of postoperative infection in cardiac surgery is still not fully recognized. Special attention should be paid to patients with bacteriologically negative infections, as M. hominis should not be disregarded, despite its rarity.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and identify risk factors for severe hypocalcemia following total parathyroidectomy (TPTX) in patients with renal secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). PATIENTS AND METHODS We included patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis who underwent TPTX from January 1, 2018, to April 30, 2023. Participants were categorized into groups based on postoperative corrected serum calcium levels: severe hypocalcemia (<1.8 mmol/L) and non-severe hypocalcemia (≥1.8 mmol/L). We conducted univariate analyses of demographic and laboratory data to identify potential risk factors, which were further analyzed using a binary logistic regression model. RESULTS Significant associations were observed with age, dialysis duration exceeding five years, type of dialysis (peritoneal dialysis), lower preoperative corrected serum calcium, elevated preoperative intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), and increased preoperative alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels (all p<0.05). Age, preoperative iPTH, and ALP levels were identified as independent risk factors for severe hypocalcemia post-TPTX. CONCLUSIONS Younger patients with renal SHPT who have elevated preoperative iPTH and ALP levels are at an increased risk of experiencing severe hypocalcemia following TPTX. These findings underscore the importance of careful preoperative assessment and monitoring to mitigate the risk of this complication.

Abstract
Pyroptosis, mediated by gasdermin proteins, has shown excellent efficacy in facilitating cancer immunotherapy. The strategies commonly used to induce pyroptosis suffer from a lack of tissue specificity, resulting in the nonselective activation of pyroptosis and consequent systemic toxicity. Moreover, pyroptosis activation usually depends on caspase, which can induce inflammation and metabolic disorders. In this study, inspired by the tumor-specific expression of SRY-box transcription factor 4 (Sox4) and matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), we constructed a doubly regulated plasmid, pGMD, that expresses a biomimetic gasdermin D (GSDMD) protein to induce the caspase-independent pyroptosis of tumor cells. To deliver pGMD to tumor cells, we used a hyaluronic acid (HA)-shelled calcium carbonate nanoplatform, H-CNP@pGMD, which effectively degrades in the acidic endosomal environment, releasing pGMD into the cytoplasm of tumor cells. Upon the initiation of Sox4, biomimetic GSDMD was expressed and cleaved by MMP2 to induce tumor-cell-specific pyroptosis. H-CNP@pGMD effectively inhibited tumor growth and induced strong immune memory effects, preventing tumor recurrence. We demonstrate that H-CNP@pGMD-induced biomimetic GSDMD expression and tumor-specific pyroptosis provide a novel approach to boost cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract
The storage quality characteristics of fresh pork patties were investigated under 80% O2 modified atmosphere packaging (MAP80:20 = 80% O2/20% CO2) and 40% O2 MAP with various CO2 levels (MAP40:20 = 40% O2/20% CO2/40% N2; MAP40:40 = 40% O2/40% CO2/20% N2; MAP40:60 = 40% O2/60% CO2). Packaged patties were stored for 16 days at 4 °C to monitor their physicochemical (pH, instrumental color, oxidative stability, and fatty acid profile), microbial, and sensorial changes. Results suggested that decreasing O2 levels from 80% to 40% significantly inhibited the lipid oxidation of patties but led to a lower (P < 0.05) color stability. Elevating CO2 levels from 20% to 60% in combination with 40% O2 significantly suppressed bacterial growth and total volatile basic nitrogen production, and thus rendered patties with a better sensory quality and a similar meat color to 80% O2. However, increased CO2 levels promoted lipid oxidation through reducing the antioxidant capacity of patties, which was attributed to a CO2-induced reduction in superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities during storage rather than a pH reduction or changes in fatty acid composition. Overall, 40% O2/40% CO2/20% N2 is a realistic alternative for pork patties to improve meat quality and extend the shelf-life to over 16 days.

Abstract
The accessory protein ORF6 of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a key interferon (IFN) antagonist that strongly suppresses the production of primary IFN as well as the expression of IFN-stimulated genes. However, how host cells respond to ORF6 remains largely unknown. Our research of ORF6-binding proteins by pulldown revealed that E3 ligase components such as Cullin 4B (CUL4B), DDB1, and RBX1 are potential ORF6-interacting proteins. Further study found that the substrate recognition receptor PRPF19 interacts with CUL4B, DDB1, and RBX1 to form a CRL4B-based E3 ligase, which catalyzes ORF6 ubiquitination and subsequent degradation. Overexpression of PRPF19 promotes ORF6 degradation, releasing ORF6-mediated IFN inhibition, which inhibits SARS-CoV-2 replication. Moreover, we found that activation of CUL4B by the neddylation inducer etoposide alleviates lung lesions in a SARS-CoV-2 mouse infection model. Therefore, targeting ORF6 for degradation may be an effective therapeutic strategy against SARS-CoV-2 infection.IMPORTANCEThe cellular biological function of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway as an important modulator for the regulation of many fundamental cellular processes has been greatly appreciated. The critical role of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway in viral pathogenesis has become increasingly apparent. It is a powerful tool that host cells use to defend against viral infection. Some cellular proteins can function as restriction factors to limit viral infection by ubiquitin-dependent degradation. In this research, we identificated of CUL4B-DDB1-PRPF19 E3 Ubiquitin Ligase Complex can mediate proteasomal degradation of ORF6, leading to inhibition of viral replication. Moreover, the CUL4B activator etoposide alleviates disease development in a mouse infection model, suggesting that this agent or its derivatives may be used to treat infections caused by SARS-CoV-2. We believe that these results will be extremely useful for the scientific and clinic communities in their search for cues and preventive measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
The performance of the capacitive gap-sensing system plays a critical role in a satellite-based gravity gradiometer that is developed using an electrostatic accelerometer. The capacitive sensing gain mainly depends on the stabilized injection bias amplitude, the gain of the transformer bridge, and the trans-impedance amplifier. Previous studies have indicated that amplitude noise is the main factor influencing the noise of capacitive displacement detection. Analyzing the capacitive gap-sensing system indicates that the amplitude, frequency, phase, and broadband noises of the stabilized injection bias have varying levels of influence on the performance of the detection system. This paper establishes a model to clarify the mentioned effects. The validation of the sub-tests demonstrates that the analysis and evaluation results of various noise coefficients are highly consistent with the model's predicted outcomes.

Abstract
The first search for scalar leptoquarks produced in τ-lepton-quark collisions is presented. It is based on a set of proton-proton collision data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. The reconstructed final state consists of a jet, significant missing transverse momentum, and a τ lepton reconstructed through its hadronic or leptonic decays. Limits are set on the product of the leptoquark production cross section and branching fraction and interpreted as exclusions in the plane of the leptoquark mass and the leptoquark-τ-quark coupling strength.

Abstract
To achieve stable operation of an ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) system in the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), a real-time impedance matching system needs to be established to respond to antenna load variation during long pulse discharges. A new impedance matching method based on capacitors was proposed in this study. By considering the reflected voltage of the transmission line as the feedback parameter, the real-time impedance-matching system can quickly control the motors based on a programmable logic controller to determine the minimum reflection voltage. A real-time impedance matching system was successfully used on the test platform in the laboratory and on the ICRH system in EAST. A significant result is that we can match the variable impedance within 1 s by suitably adjusting the motor controller to ensure high-power and long-pulse operation of the ICRH system to satisfy the requirements of the EAST experiment.

Abstract
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection results in liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HBx/nuclear factor (NF)-κB pathway plays a role in HBV replication. However, whether NF-κB-interacting long noncoding RNA (NKILA), a suppressor of NF-κB activation, regulates HBV replication remains largely unknown. In this study, gain-and-loss experiments showed that NKILA inhibited HBV replication by inhibiting NF-κB activity. In turn, HBV infection down-regulated NKILA expression. In addition, expression levels of NKILA were lower in the peripheral blood-derived monocytes (PBMCs) of HBV-positive patients than in healthy individuals, which were correlated with HBV viral loads. And a negative correlation between NKILA expression level and HBV viral loads was observed in blood serum from HBV-positive patients. Lower levels of endogenous NKILA were also observed in HepG2 cells expressing a 1.3-fold HBV genome, HBV-infected HepG2-NTCP cells, stable HBV-producing HepG2.2.15 and HepAD38 cells, compared to those HBV-negative cells. Furthermore, HBx was required for NKILA-mediated inhibition on HBV replication. NKILA decreased HBx-induced NF-κB activation by interrupting the interaction between HBx and p65, whereas NKILA mutants lack of essential domains for NF-ĸB inhibition, lost the ability to inhibit HBV replication. Together, our data demonstrate that NKILA may serve as a suppressor of HBV replication via NF-ĸB signalling.

Abstract
The locular gel, produced by the placenta, is important for fruit flavor and seed development in tomato. However, the mechanism underlying locule and placenta development is not fully understood yet. Here, we show that two SlARF transcription factors, SlARF8B and SlARF8A (SlARF8A/B), promote the development of locular and placenta tissues. The expression of both SlARF8A and SlARF8B is repressed by sly-microRNA167 (sly-miR167), allowing for the activation of auxin downstream genes. In slarf8a, slarf8b, and slarf8a/b mutants, the auxin (IAA) levels are decreased, whereas the levels of inactive IAA conjugates including IAA-Ala, IAA-Asp, and IAA-Glu are increased. We further find that SlARF8B directly inhibits the expression of SlGH3.4, an acyl acid amino synthetase that conjugates the amino acids to IAA. Disruption of such auxin balance by the increased expression of SlGH3.4 or SlGH3.2 results in defective locular and placental tissues. Taken together, our findings reveal an important regulatory module constituted by sly-miR167-SlARF8A/B-SlGH3.4 during the development of locular and placenta tissues of tomato fruits.

Abstract
AIM To develop and validate a diagnostic model utilising machine-learning algorithms that differentiates lepidic predominant adenocarcinoma (LPA) from other pathological subtypes in patients with pure ground-glass nodules (pGGNs). MATERIALS AND METHODS This bicentric study was conducted across two medical centres and included 151 patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma based on histopathological confirmation of pGGNs. The training cohort consisted of 99 patients from Institution 1, while the test cohort included 52 patients from Institution 2. Radiomics features were extracted from both tumours and the 2 mm peritumoural parenchyma. The tumoural and peritumoural radiomics were designated as Modeltumoural and Modelperitumoural, respectively. The diagnostic efficacy of various models was evaluated through the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Subsequently, a machine-learning-based prediction model that combined Modeltumoural, Modelperitumoural, and Modelclinical-radiological was developed to differentiate LPA from other pathological subtypes in patients with pGGNs. RESULTS Modeltumoural achieved area under the curve (AUC) values of 0.762 and 0.783 in the training and validation sets, respectively. Modelperitumoural attained AUCs of 0.742 and 0.667, and Modelclinical-radiological generated an AUC of 0.727 and 0.739 in the training and validation sets, respectively. Among the machine-learning models evaluated, gradient boosting machines demonstrated the best diagnostic efficacy, with accuracy, AUC, F1 score, and log loss values of 0.885, 0.956, 0.943, and 0.260, respectively. CONCLUSION The combined model based on machine learning that incorporated tumour and peritumoural parenchyma, as well as clinical and imaging characteristics, may offer benefits in assessing the pathological subtype of pGGNs.

Abstract
Formaldehyde (HCHO) is a key carcinogen and plays an important role in atmospheric chemistry. Both field measurements and Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) modeling have been employed to investigate the concentrations and sources of HCHO in the Lewiston-Clarkston (LC) valley of the mountainous northwestern U.S. Different instruments were deployed to measure surface formaldehyde and other related compounds in July of 2016 and 2017. The measurements reveal that the average HCHO concentrations have significantly decreased to 2-5 ppb in the LC valley in comparison to its levels (10-20 ppb) observed in July 2006. This discovery with surface measurements deserves attention given that satellite retrievals showed an increasing long-term trend from 2005 to 2014 in total vertical column density of HCHO in the region, suggesting that satellite instruments may not adequately resolve small valleys in the mountainous region. Our PMF modeling identified four major sources of HCHO in the valley: (1) emissions from a local paper mill, (2) secondary formation and background, (3) biogenic sources, and (4) traffic. This study reveals that the emissions from the paper mill cause high HCHO spikes (6-19 ppb) in the early morning. It is found that biogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the area are influenced by national forests surrounding the region (e.g., Nez Perce-Clearwater, Umatilla, Wallowa-Whitman, and Idaho Panhandle National Forests). The results provide useful information for developing strategies to control HCHO levels and have implications for future HCHO studies in atmospheric chemistry, which affects secondary aerosols and ozone formation.

Abstract
A search for dark matter in events with a displaced nonresonant muon pair and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton (pp) collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV produced by the LHC in 2016-2018. No significant excess over the predicted backgrounds is observed. Upper limits are set on the product of the inelastic dark matter production cross section σ(pp→A^{'}→χ_{1}χ_{2}) and the decay branching fraction B(χ_{2}→χ_{1}μ^{+}μ^{-}), where A^{'} is a dark photon and χ_{1} and χ_{2} are states in the dark sector with near mass degeneracy. This is the first dedicated collider search for inelastic dark matter.

Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 belongs to the subgenus Sarbecovirus, which universally encodes the accessory protein ORF6. SARS-CoV-2 ORF6 is an antagonist of the interferon (IFN)-mediated antiviral response and plays an important role in viral infections. However, the mechanism by which the host counteracts the function of ORF6 to restrict viral replication remains unclear. In this study, we found that most ORF6 proteins encoded by sarbecoviruses could be ubiquitinated and subsequently degraded via the proteasome pathway. Through extensive screening, we identified that the deubiquitinase USP1, which effectively and broadly deubiquitinates sarbecovirus ORF6 proteins, stabilizes ORF6 proteins, resulting in enhanced viral replication. Therefore, ubiquitination and deubiquitination of ORF6 are important for antagonizing IFN-mediated antiviral signaling and influencing the virulence of SARS-CoV-2. These findings highlight an essential molecular mechanism and may provide a novel target for therapeutic interventions against viral infections.IMPORTANCEThe ORF6 proteins encoded by sarbecoviruses are essential for effective viral replication and infection and are important targets for developing effective intervention strategies. In this study, we confirmed that sarbecovirus ORF6 proteins are important antagonists of the host immune response and identified the regulatory mechanisms of ubiquitination and deubiquitination of most sarbecovirus ORF6 proteins. Moreover, we revealed that DUB USP1 prevents the proteasomal degradation of all ORF6 proteins, thereby promoting the virulence of SARS-CoV-2. Thus, impeding ORF6 function is helpful for attenuating the virulence of sarbecoviruses. Therefore, our findings provide a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying sarbecovirus infections and offer potential new therapeutic targets for the prevention and treatment of these infections.

Abstract
Poisoning induced by inhalation of hydrogen chloride has significant effects on the respiratory system. It can cause severe pulmonary edema and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in the early stage, and even death in critical cases. As a novel treatment for ARDS, the efficacy of sivelestat sodium in infection-induced ARDS has been widely verified, but its application in ARDS caused by chemical poisoning is still scarce in literature. Here we report a case of ARDS induced by hydrogen chloride inhalation which was successfully treated with sivelestat sodium and conventional treatment.

Abstract
Tannins play vital roles in regulating ecological processes in mangrove forests. However, how tannins affect nitrogen (N) cycling and microbial metabolism in mangrove ecosystems remains largely unexplored. In this study, we hypothesized the types and amounts of tannins released into seawater and sediments during leaf litter decomposition differed among mangrove plant species, thus their effects on N and microbial metabolism also varied. The alterations of tannins, and environmental N and microbial metabolism during leaf litter decomposition of Kandelia obovata, Avicennia marina, and Sonneratia apetala were evaluated by a microcosm-simulated tidal system. Results showed that total polyphenols (TPs) in seawater treated with K. obovata litter were significantly higher than those in A. marina and S. apetala treatments, although the trends of TP changes elicited an initial increase followed by a decrease during decomposition. The dynamic changes in TPs reduced the seawater N concentrations in K. obovata treatment but not in A. marina and S. apetala treatments. The results of microbial metabolism analysis revealed that leaf litter significantly increased microbial metabolic activities and diversities. The types of carbon sources utilized by sediment microorganisms differed among treatments, with the microbes in S. apetala and A. marina litter used more varieties of amino acids, lipids and sugars than those in K. obovata treatment, probably due to the rich amount of hydrolysable tannins (HTs) in the first two species while the last species only contained ondensed tannins (CTs). CTs released from K. obovata leaf litter not only bound nitrogen-containing macromolecular compounds such as amino acids and proteins but also carbohydrates like polysaccharides, which decreased the supply of C and N to sediment microbiota. These results reveal that the release of mangrove tannins during leaf litter decomposition is one of the key factors driving N cycling, and microbial activities and diversities in mangrove wetlands.

Abstract
Aim To explore the lactating nurses' experiences of return to work after lifting COVID-19 lockdown. Background Return to work is a key reason for the low rates of breastfeeding. Especially after lifting COVID-19 lockdown, case counts reached recorded highs. So lactating nurses face more challenges when they return to work. Method The empirical phenomenology method was used to conduct a qualitative study. Lactating nurses were recruited in a tertiary hospital through purposive and snowball sampling, and participated in semi-structured video interviews. Colaizzi's method was used to analyze the data. Results Three themes and 10 sub-themes emerged from the interview data of 15 participants. The first theme was "preparation for return to work", which helped lactating nurses adapt to return to work quickly. The second was "experiences of return to work". The inconvenience of pumping was mentioned repeatedly. In addition, the flexible work schedule was highlighted. The third was "experiences of infection". The attitudes toward breastfeeding differed due to different perceptions of COVID-19. Conclusions Lactation nurses easily interrupted or stopped breastfeeding when they returned to work after lifting COVID-19 lockdown. Recommendations include the further provision of longer periods of leave, flexible working arrangements, separate facilities for breast pumping, and breastfeeding strategies for epidemics.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical features, imaging manifestations, histopathological characteristics, and surgical outcomes in pediatric progressive restrictive strabismus. Methods: A retrospective case series study was conducted, including data from 9 cases (9 eyes) of pediatric progressive restrictive strabismus treated at Tianjin Eye Hospital from June 2017 to October 2022. The study compared the degree of globe protrusion in both eyes, changes in eyelid fissure height during internal and external rotation in the primary gaze, summarized clinical characteristics, and analyzed intraoperative conditions, surgical outcomes and postoperative histopathological results of strabismus correction surgery. Statistical analysis was performed using Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Friedman two-way analysis of variance. Results: All 9 cases involved unilateral onset, with 4 males and 5 females. Three cases affected the right eye, and six affected the left eye. Onset age ranged from 2 to 40 months. The degree of globe protrusion in the affected eyes was 13.00 (12.00, 13.00) mm for the right eye and 12.00 (12.00, 13.50) mm for the left eye, with no statistically significant difference (Z=-1.00, P=0.317). There were no significant changes in eyelid fissure height during internal rotation [8.00 (7.25, 8.00) mm], primary gaze [7.50 (7.00, 8.00) mm], and external rotation [8.00 (7.75, 8.00) mm] in the affected eyes (χ²=1.00, P=0.607). No apparent abnormalities were observed in head CT or MRI scans, serum, or immunological tests. However, orbital CT or MRI scans indicated thickening of different extraocular muscle bellies. Six out of nine cases underwent strabismus correction surgery, and postoperative examination revealed restriction in eye movement despite achieving orthophoria in the primary gaze. Tissue pathology of three cases showed increased collagen fiber proliferation in one, scattered bundles of smooth muscle fibers amid diffuse collagen fiber proliferation in another, and abnormal proliferation of striated muscle fibers with varying diameters, increased paired box (PAX)7-positive satellite cells expressing slow muscle myosin in the third case. Conclusions: Pediatric progressive restrictive strabismus presents with restrictive changes, without significant alterations in globe protrusion and eyelid fissure height. Imaging examinations reveal thickening of the extraocular muscle bellies in the affected eye. Although strabismus correction surgery improves eye position, postoperative eye movement remains restricted. Histopathological findings in some cases show abnormal proliferation of skeletal muscle fibers or collagen fibers.

Abstract
Superior oblique muscle paralysis is a common type of vertical rotatory strabismus with various subtypes. Regardless of the subtype, the Bielschowsky tilt test plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of superior oblique muscle paralysis and is often considered a significant criterion for diagnosis and differential diagnosis. However, the sensitivity and specificity of the Bielschowsky tilt test for diagnosing superior oblique muscle paralysis are not 100% due to the mechanism involved. The test is not solely based on extraocular muscle imbalance but also involves reflex pathways of the vestibular system and central nervous system. Consequently, lesions affecting corresponding areas may yield positive results in the Bielschowsky tilt test. Additionally, vestibular and central nervous system lesions can also cause strabismus, leading to a lack of one-to-one correspondence between a positive Bielschowsky tilt test and superior oblique muscle paralysis. Therefore, correctly interpreting the role of the Bielschowsky tilt test in superior oblique muscle paralysis is of paramount importance for the effective clinical management and treatment of associated conditions.
