Abstract
Defects and energy offsets at the bulk and heterojunction interfaces of perovskite are detrimental to the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, we designed an amphiphilic π-conjugated ionic compound (QAPyBF4 ), implementing simultaneous defects passivation and interface energy level alignments. The p-type conjugated cations passivated the surface trap states and optimized energy alignment at the perovskite/hole transport layer. The highly electronegative [BF4 ]- enriched at the SnO2 interface featured desired band alignment due to the dipole moment of this interlayer. The planar n-i-p PSC had an efficiency of 23.1 % with Voc of 1.2 V. Notably, the synergy effect elevated the intrinsic endothermic decomposition temperature of the perovskite. The modified devices showed excellent long-term thermal (85 °C) and operational stability at the maximum power point for 1000 h at 45 °C under continuous one-sun illumination with no appreciable efficiency loss.

Abstract
Cancerous Inhibitor of PP2A (CIP2A), an endogenous PP2A inhibitor, is upregulated and causes reactive astrogliosis, synaptic degeneration, and cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the mechanism underlying the increased CIP2A expression in AD brains remains unclear. We here demonstrated that the DNA damage-related Checkpoint kinase 1 (ChK1) is activated in AD human brains and 3xTg-AD mice. ChK1-mediated CIP2A overexpression drives inhibition of PP2A and activates STAT3, then leads to reactive astrogliosis and neurodegeneration in vitro. Infection of mouse brain with GFAP-ChK1-AAV induced AD-like cognitive deficits and exacerbated AD pathologies in vivo. In conclusion, we showed that ChK1 activation induces reactive astrogliosis, degeneration of neurons, and exacerbation of AD through the CIP2A-PP2A-STAT3 pathway, and inhibiting ChK1 may be a potential therapeutic approach for AD treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of mitomycin C (MMC) 0.02% for prevention of haze after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (Trans-PRK) for mild and moderate myopia. Methods: Retrospective cohort study. We reviewed medical records of 295 patients (588 eyes) who underwent Trans-PRK with or without use of MMC. There were 45 patients (90 eyes) in the mild myopia group (aged between 18 and 41 years; 37 males and 8 females; myopia diopter <3.00 D) and 250 patients (498 eyes) in the moderate myopia group (aged between 18 and 46 years; 168 males and 82 females; myopia diopter: 3.00 to 6.00 D). The two groups were divided into subgroups with MMC 0.02% and without MMC, respectively. The time of intraoperative application of MMC, if there was, was 15 s and 30 s in the mild myopia group and the moderate myopia group, respectively. The mean follow-up time was 6 months. Postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), spherical equivalent (SE) and haze were analyzed and compared using an independent Student t-test or Mann-Whitney U test between subgroups. Haze variables were compared using chi-square statistics. Results: Haze was quantified with Fantes from grade 0.5 to 4. In the mild myopia group, all haze grades were 0.5 within 3 months. The incidence of haze was 6.25% (2/32) in eyes treated with MMC and 8.62% (5/58) in eyes treated without MMC; there was no statistical significance (χ²=0.00, P>0.999). In the moderate myopia group, the incidence of haze was 9.19% (24/261) in eyes treated with MMC within 3 months; the grade was 0.5 in 91.67% (22/24) of eyes with haze and 1 in 8.33% (2/24). The incidence of haze was 29.53% (70/237) in eyes treated without MMC; the grade was 0.5 in 60.00% (42/70) of eyes with haze, 1 in 18.57% (13/70), and 2 in 5.71% (4/70) within 3 months, and 0.5 in 15.71% (11/70) after 3 months (χ²=12.36, P=0.002). In the mild myopia group, BCVA was 5.0(5.0, 5.1) versus 5.0(5.0, 5.1) in the subgroups with MMC and without MMC (Z=-0.34, P=0.733). In the moderate myopia group, BCVA was 5.0(5.0, 5.1) versus 5.0(5.0, 5.1) in the subgroups with and without MMC (Z=-2.05, P=0.040). In the mild myopia group, SE was (0.33±1.07) D versus (0.32±0.57) D in the subgroups with and without MMC (t=0.25, P=0.805). In the moderate myopia group, SE was (0.66±0.85) D versus (0.53±0.67) D in the subgroups with and without MMC (t=2.97, P=0.003). Conclusions: MMC 0.02% was effective in preventing haze after Trans-PRK in the treatment of moderate myopia. However, it was not effective in mild myopia.

Abstract
Bi4I4 belongs to a novel family of quasi-one-dimensional (1D) topological insulators (TIs). While its β phase was demonstrated to be a prototypical weak TI, the α phase, long thought to be a trivial insulator, was recently predicted to be a rare higher order TI. Here, we report the first gate tunable transport together with evidence for unconventional band topology in exfoliated α-Bi4I4 field effect transistors. We observe a Dirac-like longitudinal resistance peak and a sign change in the Hall resistance; their temperature dependences suggest competing transport mechanisms: a hole-doped insulating bulk and one or more gate-tunable ambipolar boundary channels. Our combined transport, photoemission, and theoretical results indicate that the gate-tunable channels likely arise from novel gapped side surface states, two-dimensional (2D) TI in the bottommost layer, and/or helical hinge states of the upper layers. Markedly, a gate-tunable supercurrent is observed in an α-Bi4I4 Josephson junction, underscoring the potential of these boundary channels to mediate topological superconductivity.

Abstract
Objective: To detect gene mutation in patients with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) by using whole exome sequencing, to analyze the pathogenicity of the mutations, and to provide reference for the genetic diagnosis of HED patients. Methods: Peripheral blood genomic DNA was extracted from each of the HED patients and their family members collected in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from August 2016 to August 2021. Whole exome sequencing and sanger sequencing were performed to detect gene mutations. Functions of the rare variants after the database filtering were analyzed by bioinformatics tools. Results: Three reported mutations of ectodysplasin A (EDA) gene (c.2T>C, c.161A>G, c.467G>A) and a mutation of ectodysplasin A receptor (EDAR) gene (c.871G>A) were detected by whole genome sequencing in four HED patients, and were verified by Sanger sequencing in four HED families. The EDAR gene mutation founded in this research was reported in HED patients for the first time. Bioinformatics tools predicted that the mutations of EDA gene detected in this study were highly species conserved and disease-causing. The combined annotation dependent depletion (CADD) scores of EDA gene mutations c.2T>C, c.161A>G and c.467G>A were 22.5, 26.3 and 25.5 respectively, and the genomic evolutionary rate profiling (GERP) scores were 2.16, 2.26 and 2.18 respectively. The EDAR gene mutation c.871G>A detected in this study was species conserved and possibly disease-causing. The CADD and GERP scores of EDAR gene mutation c.871G>A were 22.0 and 1.93 respectively. Conclusions: Three reported mutations of EDA gene and a previously unreported mutation of EDAR gene were detected in four HED families. Different mutations of EDA gene and EDAR gene could make different influence on the protein function and lead to the occurrence of HED.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Growing evidence recommends antifibrinolytic agent tranexamic acid (TXA) to reduce blood loss and transfusions rate in various surgical settings. However, postoperative seizure, as one of the major adverse effects of TXA infusion, has been a concern that restricts its utility in neurosurgery. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This is a randomised, placebo-controlled, non-inferiority trial. Patients with supratentorial meningiomas and deemed suitable for surgical resection will be recruited in the trial. Patients will be randomised to receive either a single administration of 20 mg/kg TXA or a placebo of the same volume with a 1:1 allocation ratio after anaesthesia induction. The primary endpoint is the cumulative incidence of early postoperative seizures within 7 days after craniotomy. Secondary outcomes include the incidence of non-seizure complications, changes of haemoglobin level from baseline, intraoperative blood loss, erythrocyte transfusion volume, Karnofsky Performance Status, all-cause mortality, and length of stay, and total hospitalisation cost. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This trial is registered at ClinicalTrial.gov and approved by the Chinese Ethics Committee of Registering Clinical Trials (ChiECRCT20200224). The findings will be disseminated in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national or international conferences relevant to subject fields. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER NCT04595786.

Abstract
Golgi protein 73 (GP73) is a transmembrane protein on the Golgi apparatus and can be cut and released into the blood. In recent years, an increasing number of clinical studies have shown that the elevated serum GP73 level is closely related to liver diseases. And thus GP73 is expected to be used as a new serum marker for assessing progress of chronic liver diseases. Herein, the clinical application of serum GP73 in chronic hepatitis, liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma with different etiologies was reviewed based on available literatures; and a research outlook in this field is made.

Abstract
The oxygen species of CeO2 nanocatalysts plays a key role in the CO oxidation. In this work, nanocrystalline CeO2 with infrared spectroscopy detectable surface superoxide (O2−) species at room temperature is fabricated and CO oxidation is used as a probe reaction for the exploration of the characteristics of surface O2− species on the CeO2 surface. We discover that the surface O2− species have ignorable influences on the overall reaction rate of CO oxidation on pure ceria by comparing P-CeO2 (CeO2 prepared by precipitation method) with HT-CeO2 (CeO2 prepared by hydrothermal method). It is concluded that the reaction between CO molecules and surface O2− species is the first and the fast step in the whole redox cycle, while the release of surface lattice oxygen is the second and the rate determining step of the catalysts. This work gives an intuitionistic exploration on the redox properties of pure nanocrystalline CeO2 with surface O2− species and reveals the influences of these species in the whole redox circle of CO oxidation. Pure CeO2 nanocatalysts fabricated by different methods are obtained and the impact of surface oxygen species on their CO oxidation is compared and evaluated.![]()

Abstract
Background Moyamoya disease (MMD) is an uncommon cerebrovascular disease which leads to progressive stenosis and occlusion of the bilateral internal carotid artery and main intracerebral arteries. Concerns are always on how the hemisphere with infarction affects cognitive function, while little attention is paid to the role that the non-infarcted hemisphere plays. Therefore, we aimed to detect cortical indexes, especially cortical complexity in the left or right hemisphere separately in patients with MMD after stroke. Methods 28 patients with MMD (14 males, 14 females) and 14 healthy controls were included in this study. All participants underwent cognitive tests and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. The preprocessing of three-dimensional T1 weighted images were performed by standard surface-based morphometry. Surface-based morphometry statistical analysis was carried out with a threshold of False Discovery Rate (FDR) P < 0.05 and fractal dimension (FD) was used to provide a quantitative description of cerebral cortical complexity. Results Widespread cognitive dysfunctions were found in MMD patient with stroke. Extensive FD reduction in the left hemisphere with right-sided infarction, mainly in the superior temporal, inferior frontal, and insula, while the post central gyrus, superior parietal, and inferior parietal gyrus also showed a wide range of significant differences (FDR corrected P < 0.05). Meanwhile, FD changes in the right hemisphere with left-sided infarction are restricted to the precuneus and cingulate isthmus (FDR corrected P < 0.05). Conclusions Extensive cognitive impairment was reconfirmed in Moyamoya disease with stroke, while wild and asymmetrical decrease of cortical complexity is observed on both sides. These differences could be relative to unbalanced cognitive dysfunction, and may be the result of a long-term chronic ischemia and compensatory of the contralateral hemisphere to the infarction. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Postoperative delirium (POD) is a common complication. The incidence of POD is about 25% in non-cardiac surgery and ranges from 10% to 30% in neurological procedures. A lot of trials show that dexmedetomidine might help to reduce the incidence of delirium in patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery. However, the impact of dexmedetomidine on POD for patients undergoing craniotomy and tumour resections remains unclear. METHODS AND ANALYSIS The study is a prospective, single-centre, randomised, double-blinded, paralleled-group controlled trial. Patients undergoing elective frontotemporal tumour resections will be randomly assigned to the dexmedetomidine group and the control group. After endotracheal intubation, patients in the dexmedetomidine group will be administered with a loading dose of dexmedetomidine 0.6 µg/kg in 10 min followed by continuous infusion at a rate of 0.4 µg/kg/hour until the start of dural closure. In the control group, patients will receive the identical volume of normal saline in the same setting. The primary outcome will be the cumulative incidence of POD within 5 days. The delirium assessment will be performed by using the confusion assessment method in the first 5 consecutive days after surgery. Secondary outcomes include the pain severity assessed by Numerical Rating Scale pain score, quality of postoperative sleep assessed by the Richards Campbell sleep questionnaire and postoperative quality of recovery from anaesthesia by the Postoperative Quality Recovery Scale. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION The protocol (V.1.0, 10 November 2020) has been approved by the Ethics Review Committee of the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (number ChiECRCT-20200436). The findings of the study will be disseminated in a peer-reviewed journal and at a scientific conference. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER NCT04674241.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the incidence of HIV infections and associated factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Jiangsu province. Methods: Based on national AIDS sentinel surveillance in 2019, MSM from 13 cities in Jiangsu were recruited for questionnaire interview and laboratory testing during April to July, 2019. Seropositive samples were tested with Limiting-antigen avidity enzyme immunoassay to detect recent HIV infections. The incidence of HIV infection in MSM were calculated according to the formula and parameters from China CDC. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with recent infection of HIV. Results: A total of 4 469 MSM were subjects and the incidence of HIV infection were 4.5% (95%CI: 3.4%-5.5%).Multivariate logistic regression analysis results showed that compared with these aged ≥40 years, recruitment ways from MSM venues, awareness of AIDS knowledge, non-unprotected anal sex in the past 6 months and non-syphilis infection, those who aged 18-24 years (aOR=2.083,95%CI:1.087-3.990), recruitment ways from VCT clinics (aOR=2.125,95%CI:1.175-3.843), unawareness of AIDS knowledge (aOR=2.456,95%CI:1.109-5.437), unprotected anal sex in the past 6 months (aOR=3.553,95%CI:2.143-5.889) and syphilis infection (aOR=2.414,95%CI:1.033-5.462) were higher risk of HIV infection. Conclusion: The new infection rates of HIV were high in MSM in Jiangsu province. Health education, condom use and HIV/syphilis screening promotions should therefore be top priority in the prevention and control of HIV infection in MSM.

Abstract
Three patients diagnosed with focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) in the First Hospital of Peking University from September to November 2020 were recruited in the study. Based on stereotactic electroencephalogram (SEEG) or electrocorticogram (ECoG) analysis to localize the seizure onset zone (SOZ), RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis was performed for the SOZ and para-SOZ tissue obtained from surgery. The differentially expressed genes between SOZ and para-SOZ samples were analyzed by performing Go (Gene ontology) analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis."Extracellular matrix"was significantly enriched, which included collagen synthesis genes (e.g., COL1A1)."Ether lipid metabolism"was enriched in the KEGG pathway enrichment analysis. These differences could be the potential biological markers for SOZ localization.

Abstract
Recently, Lanzhou lily has attracted more attention because of its bioactive components specifically polysaccharides. We studied in vitro the effects of Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation on the physicochemical properties, chemical structure, and antioxidant activity of the Lanzhou lily polysaccharide. The results showed that compared with the unfermented Lanzhou lily polysaccharide (LP-W), the molecular weight (M w) of the fermented Lanzhou lily polysaccharide (LPF-W) decreased from 4334 to 1684 kDa, the particle size decreased from 300.8 ± 6.38 to 141.9 ± 4.96 nm, and the solubility increased from 72.33 ± 3.58 to 104.27 ± 2.91 mg/mL. In addition, after fermentation, the monosaccharide composition of LPF-W changed, and the alternation of mannose residues and glucose residues disappeared. The results of the analysis of the antioxidant activity in vitro showed that compared with LP-W, the fermented LPF-W had higher DPPH radical ability, superoxide anion radical scavenging ability, and reducing efficiency, but the hydroxyl radical scavenging ability decreased. These findings provide a reference for the potential application of the lily polysaccharide as a plant-derived antioxidant in functional foods.

Abstract
Glucosamine 6-phosphate deaminase (NagB) influences the direction of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) metabolism, facilitating the conversion of D-glucosamine 6-phosphate (GlcN6P) to D-fructose 6-phosphate (Fru6P) with the release of ammonia. Here, extensive molecular dynamics simulations combined with various techniques were performed to study the recognition and delivery process of GlcN6P by SmuNagB, due to its guidance of subsequent enzymatic reaction. The key residues Lys194, His130, Arg127, Thr38, and Ser37 stabilize GlcN6P in the active site by hydrogen bond interactions, therein electrostatic and polar solvent effects provide the primary traction. Four delivery channels were identified, with GlcN6P most likely to enter the active site of NagB through a “door” comprising residues 6–10, 122–136, and 222–233. The corresponding mechanism and thermodynamic properties were investigated. An exothermic recognition and delivery process were detected, accompanied by the flipping of GlcN6P and changes in key direct and indirect hydrogen bond interactions, which provide the driving force for the chemical reaction to occur. Furthermore, “the lid motif” was identified that remain open in alkaline condition with different extent of opening at each stage of transfer that induced GlcN6P to move the active site of NagB. The work will assist in the elucidation of the catalytic mechanism of action of NagB, allowing inhibitors to be designed with superior dynamic behavior.

Abstract
Objective: To study the relationship between serum HBV pgRNA and antigen status in patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with long-term nucleotide analogues, and to elucidate the reason and possible mechanism of high relapse rate in antiviral therapy of nucleotide analogues in chronic hepatitis B. Methods: 94 patients with chronic hepatitis B who had been treated with long-term antiviral therapy with nucleotide analogues (more than 2 years) were divided into 5 groups according to their HBeAg and HBsAg levels: e antigen positive group(group1), e antigen negative and HBsAg > 1 500 IU/L group(group2), e antigen negative and 100 IU/L< HBsAg < 1 500 IU/L group(group3), e antigen negative and HBsAg < 100 IU/L group(group4), e antigen negative and HBsAg negative group(group5). The level and detection rate of HBVpgRNA in different antigen states groups were analyzed and compared. In addition, in order to exclude the influence of other factors on the results of this study. The study was divided into groups according to age, gender and treatment time. Results: The detection rate of HBVpgRNA was 95.0% in patients with e antigen positive, while 43.2% in patients with e antigen seroconversion, which was significantly lower than that in patients with e antigen positive (P < 0.05). The detection rate of serum HBVpgRNA was 95.0% in e antigen positive group, 75.0% in group 2, 65.0% in e antigen negative with group 3, 15.0% in group 4 and 0% in group 5. Among them, group 1, group 2 and group 3 was significantly higher than that in group 4 and group 5. There was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). However, there was no difference in the positive rate of serum HBV pgRNA among group 1, group 2 and group 3 (P > 0.05). Similarly, there was no difference in the positive rate of serum HBV pgRNA between group 4 and group 5 (P > 0.05). Moreover, the detection rate of serum HBV pgRNA was not correlated with age, gender and treatment time of nucleotide analogues (P > 0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between the serological antigen status and the presence of HBV pgRNA in chronic hepatitis B after long-term treatment of nucleotide analogues. The persistence of HBV pgRNA is closely related to the low seroconversion rate of e antigen and the high level of HBsAg. HBV pgRNA can be used as one of the biomarkers to judge the transcription activity and replication status of HBV cccDNA in liver.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features of central nervous system (CNS) mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (MCS). Methods: Nine cases of CNS MCS were collected at the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from September 2010 to September 2020. The clinical, imaging, histopathological and immunohistochemical features were reviewed. NCOA2 gene rearrangement was evaluated by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Results: There were three male and six female patients, with age range of 1 to 59 years (median 31 years). Six cases were intracranial and three cases were intraspinal, and the tumors showed dural attachment. They were often diagnosed as meningioma basing on preoperative imaging. Microscopically, the tumors showed a characteristic biphasic histologic pattern composed of undifferentiated mesenchymal small cells and well-differentiated hyaline cartilage islands. The small cells area were positive for SOX9 (9/9), CD99 (8/9), and without BRG1 and INI1 deletion. The cartilaginous component expressed SOX9 (9/9) and S-100 protein (8/9). NCOA2 gene break apart signal was identified in five cases (5/5). Eight patients were followed up for 4-124 months. Three patients (3/8) had recurrences within one year and two patients died of the tumor. Conclusions: CNS MCS is an extremely rare malignant neoplasm with a propensity to dural involvement. Preoperative imaging has low diagnostic accuracy. CNS MCS should be differentiated from other CNS small round cell tumors and chondrosarcoma. FISH detection of NCOA2 gene rearrangement will assist the diagnosis of MCS.

Thiamine ameliorates metabolic disorders induced by a long-term high-concentrate diet and promotes rumen epithelial development in goats. J Dairy Sci 2021; 104:11522-11536. Abstract
Data indicate that dietary thiamine supplementation can partly alleviate rumen epithelium inflammation and barrier function in goats fed a high-concentrate diet. The current work aimed to explore whether thiamine promotes rumen epithelium development by regulating carbohydrate metabolism during a long period of feeding high levels of concentrate. For the experiment, 24 female Boer goats (35.62 ± 2.4 kg of body weight) in parity 1 or 2 were allocated to 3 groups (8 goats per replicate) receiving a low-concentrate diet (concentrate:forage 30:70), a high-concentrate diet (HC; concentrate:forage 70:30), or a high-concentrate diet (concentrate:forage 70:30) supplemented with 200 mg of thiamine/kg of dry matter intake (HCT; concentrate:forage 70:30). On the last day of 12 wk, rumen fluid and blood samples were collected to measure ruminal parameters, endotoxin lipopolysaccharide, and blood inflammatory cytokines. Goats were slaughtered to collect ruminal tissue to determine differential metabolites, enzyme activities, and gene expression. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis revealed that the HCT group had significantly increased concentrations of d-glucose 6-phosphate, d-fructose 6-phosphate, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate, thiamine pyrophosphate, oxaloacetate, acetyl-CoA, succinyl-CoA, sedoheptulose 7-phosphate, ribose 5-phosphate, and NADPH compared with the HC group. The pyruvate dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, and transketolase enzyme activities in the rumen epithelium of the HCT group were higher than those in the HC group. The plasma total antioxidant capacity values for the HCT group were greater than those for the HC group. The rumen epithelium ATP content in the HCT group was higher than that in the HC group. Compared with the HCT group, the HC group had a lower mRNA abundance of CCND1, CCNA2, CDK2, CDK4, CDK6, BCL2, PI3K, and AKT1. Taken together, the results suggest that dietary thiamine supplementation could ameliorate disorders in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and the pentose phosphate pathway induced by a long-term high-concentrate diet and could promote rumen epithelial growth.

Abstract
Freshwater scarcity is a global threat to modern era of human society. Sorption-based atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) is prospective to provide fresh water for remote water-stressed areas lacking in water and electricity. Adsorbent material plays a vital role in such AWH systems. Here, we report a solid adsorbent synthesized by impregnating hygroscopic salt lithium chloride (LiCl) into solidified activated carbon fiber felt (ACFF modified by silica sol). Composite samples immersed with different mass concentrations of silica sol are prepared and characterized for dynamic water uptake, equilibrium water uptake, textural and thermal properties. AS5Li30 (ACFF + 5 wt% silica gel + 30 wt% LiCl) exhibits an efficient water uptake of 2.1 g/g at 25 °C and 70% relative humidity (RH). The material further demonstrates a heat storage capacity of 5456 kJ/kg. Its low regeneration temperature (< 80 °C) and good cycle stability make it feasible to be used in practical water production applications, driven by solar energy and other low-grade energy. Estimation results show that water harvesting unit can produce 1.41 gH2O/gAS5Li30 under 25 °C and 75% RH.
