Abstract
Virus coat protein (CP)-mediated resistance is considered an effective antiviral defense strategy that has been used to develop robust resistance to viral infection. Rice stripe virus (RSV) causes significant losses in rice production in eastern Asia. We previously showed that the overexpression of RSV CP in Arabidopsis plants results in immunity to RSV infection, using the RSV-Arabidopsis pathosystem, and this CP-mediated viral resistance depends on the function of DCLs and is mostly involved in RNA silencing. However, the special role of DCLs in producing t-siRNAs in CP transgenic Arabidopsis plants is not fully understood. In this study, we show that RSV CP transgenic Arabidopsis plants with the dcl2 mutant background exhibited similar virus susceptibility to non-transgenic plants and were accompanied by the absence of transgene-derived small interfering RNAs (t-siRNAs) from the CP region. The dcl2 mutation eliminated the accumulation of CP-derived t-siRNAs, including those generated by other DCL enzymes. In contrast, we also developed RSV CP transgenic Arabidopsis plants with the dcl4 mutant background, and these CP transgenic plants showed immunity to virus infection and accumulated comparable amounts of CP-derived t-siRNAs to CP transgenic Arabidopsis plants with the wild-type background except for a significant increase in the abundance of 22 nt t-siRNA reads. Overall, our data indicate that DCL2 plays an essential, as opposed to redundant, role in CP-derived t-siRNA production and induces virus resistance in RSV CP transgenic Arabidopsis plants.

Abstract
As a highly promising approach to solving the issues of energy and environment, membrane technology has gained increasing attention in various fields including water treatment, liquid separations, and gas separations, owing to its high energy efficiency and eco-friendliness. Surface segregation, a phenomenon widely found in nature, exhibits irreplaceable advantages in membrane fabrication since it is an in situ method for synchronous modification of membrane and pore surfaces during the membrane forming process. Meanwhile, combined with the development of synthesis chemistry and nanomaterial, the group has developed surface segregation as a versatile membrane fabrication method using diverse surface segregation agents. In this review, the recent breakthroughs in surface segregation methods and their applications in membrane fabrication are first briefly introduced. Then, the surface segregation phenomena and the classification of surface segregation agents are discussed. As the major part of this review, the authors focus on surface segregation methods including free surface segregation, forced surface segregation, synergistic surface segregation, and reaction-enhanced surface segregation. The strategies for regulating the physical and chemical microenvironments of membrane and pore surfaces through the surface segregation method are emphasized. The representative applications of surface segregation membranes are presented. Finally, the current challenges and future perspectives are highlighted.

Abstract
Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is one of the most prevalent gynaecological cancers worldwide. The molecular mechanisms of serous ovarian cancer (SOC) remain unclear and not well understood. SOC cases are primarily diagnosed at the late stage, resulting in a poor prognosis. Advances in molecular biology techniques allow us to obtain a better understanding of precise molecular mechanisms and to identify the chromosome instability region and key driver genes in the carcinogenesis and progression of SOC. Whole-exome sequencing was performed on the normal ovarian cell line IOSE80 and the EOC cell lines SKOV3 and A2780. The single-nucleotide variation burden, distribution, frequency and signature followed the known ovarian mutation profiles, without chromosomal bias. Recurrently mutated ovarian cancer driver genes, including LRP1B, KMT2A, ARID1A, KMT2C and ATRX were also found in two cell lines. The genome distribution of copy number alterations was found by copy number variation (CNV) analysis, including amplification of 17q12 and 4p16.1 and deletion of 10q23.33. The CNVs of MED1, GRB7 and MIEN1 located at 17q12 were found to be correlated with the overall survival of SOC patients (MED1: p = 0.028, GRB7: p = 0.0048, MIEN1: p = 0.0051), and the expression of the three driver genes in the ovarian cell line IOSE80 and EOC cell lines SKOV3 and A2780 was confirmed by western blot and cell immunohistochemistry.

Abstract
Photochemistry is one of the key processes that shape the quality of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in aquatic systems, yet the photoreactivity of DOM from different sources remains largely unclear. In this study, DOM from 10 typical autochthonous and allochthonous sources in Lake Taihu basin were exposed to simulated sunlight, and quantitative and compositional changes of the DOM were explored by measuring its UV-Visable absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. Photochemical release of nutrients was also explored during the incubations. Results showed that, although DOM from most sources experienced photobleaching effects with decreased absorption coefficients at 254 nm (a(254)) and fluorescence component intensities after light exposure, photochemical alterations of DOM linked to their original composition. Macrophyte-derived (Potamogeton malaianus) DOM, with the largest molecular size, showed increased a(254), humic- and protein-like fluorescence component (C1 and C2) abundances, and inorganic nutrient concentrations relative to dark controls, indicating photo-release of labile components. However, DOM with relatively higher aromaticity, e.g., from agricultural water and the lake, showed photobleaching effects and increased humification degree, probably due to the loss of aromatic components. Allochthonous anthropogenic DOM, e.g., from sewage, showed stronger photo-ammonification, likely relating to the fresh labile N-containing compositions. The form of inorganic nutrient releases during the DOM photolysis also varied with the original DOM sources. Macrophyte-derived DOM incubations showed larger photo-releases of NO3- and PO43-, while NO2- dominated inorganic nutrient releases during groundwater DOM light incubations. Thus, this study concludes that the photoreactivity of DOM closely relates to its original composition and sources.

Abstract
Suitable waste activated sludge (WAS) pretreatments that boost short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production from anaerobic fermentation are essential for carbon emission reduction and sludge resource utilization. This study established an efficient WAS pretreatment process combining atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) with peracetic acid (PAA). The maximum SCFA production (6.5-fold that of the control) largely increased under the optimal conditions (PAA dosage = 25 mg/g VSS (volatile suspended solids), energy consumption = 20.9 kWh/m3). APPJ/PAA pretreatment enhanced the production of multiple reactive species (including OH, CH3C(O)O, 1O2, ONOO-, O2-, and eaq-) and strengthened the effects of H2O2, heat, and light. This synergistically solubilized WAS and released organic substrates for SCFA-producing microbes. In addition, the enrichment of SCFA-producing bacteria and the decrease in SCFA-consuming bacteria favored SCFA accumulation. The key genes encoding for the main substrate metabolism and SCFA production in the metabolic pathway of fermentation were also enhanced.

Abstract
Developing hemostatic agents with reliable biosafety and high efficiency has paramount clinical significance for saving lives. Herein, inspired from traditional Chinese medicine, a sponge (BC-S) with hierarchical porous structure is proposed for the treatment of bleeding. The BC-S is prepared by a simple self-assembly method employing Bletilla Striata polysaccharide and quaternary amine alkaloids (QA) from Bletilla Striata and Coptidis Rhizoma. The ideal cation donor encapsulated in the helical structure of BSP enlarges the inter-layer space of sponge by the action of electrostatic repulsion, forming wider channels which can accelerate the diversion speed of absorbed blood. Then, platelets and erythrocytes are trapped tightly in the reticular structure and extruded to deformation, activation. Subsequently, fibrin network forms and reinforces the internal multilayer mesh, blocks the outflow of blood. QA is released from the sponge skeleton mainly driven by a combination of surface erosion and potentially solution diffusion among pore to provide long-term antibacterial activity. Benefiting from the well-designed structure and the effective hemostatic mechanism, the BC-S displays more excellent hemostatic performance in different models in vivo and in vitro compared with typical gelatin hemostatic sponge. This work is expected to boost the development of emerging hemostatic agents.

Abstract
Rhomboid domain-containing protein 3 (Rhbdd3) is a member of the rhomboid family, which can modulate the innate immune response in mammals. Nonetheless, the function and regulatory mechanism of fish Rhbdd3 during viral infection have not been characterized. In this study, Rhbdd3 was firstly cloned from common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and nominated as CcRhbdd3. Phylogenetically characterization showed that CcRhbdd3 shared a relatively long evolutionary distance with its mammalian homologs. In vivo experiment demonstrated that spring viraemia of carp virus (SVCV) infection promoted the expression of CcRhbdd3 in the liver, spleen, kidney and muscle tissues. Furthermore, overexpression of CcRhbdd3 significantly inhibited SVCV propagation, whereas knockdown of CcRhbdd3 markedly promoted SVCV replication in susceptible cells. RNA-seq and following validation showed that CcRhbdd3 overexpression upregulated the expression of several RIG-I signaling related genes, including TRIM25, TRAF2, MDA5, LGP2, IFN1, IFN3, RIG-I, IRF3 and ISG15. Moreover, CcRhbdd3 promoted the expression of NF-κB, a central immune regulator. Subcellular localization experiments showed that CcRhbdd3 was primarily distributed in the cytoplasm and co-localized with Rab5 in the early endosomes. Truncation experiments further demonstrated that the C-terminus containing the ubiquitin-binding associated domain, was crucial for both the subcellular localization and antiviral activity of CcRhbdd3. The findings in this study provide new insight into the host antiviral mechanism against aquatic RNA virus infection, and will facilitate the development of therapeutic strategies for the infection of SVCV.

Abstract
The human gut flora is highly diverse. Most lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are widely used as probiotics in human and animal husbandry and have a variety of physiological benefits. This article mainly studied the bacteriostatic ability of LAB against four pathogenic bacteria, gastrointestinal environment tolerance, and adhesion ability to Caco-2 cells. The genome of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum L461 was sequenced and analyzed. The results showed that strains F512, L461, and D469 had the most significant inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica B, Staphylococcus aureus, and Listeria monocytogenes. In addition, strains L461, C502, and P231 showed good tolerance after exposure to simulated gastric fluid for 0-4 h. Strains C502, H781, and L461 showed good tolerance in simulated intestinal fluid. Strains L461 and H781 showed good adhesion to Caco-2 cells. The number of viable bacteria was more than 60. Therefore, we screened L. plantarum L461 from 12 LAB strains through three aspects of evaluation, and conducted whole genome sequencing and analysis. Sequencing results showed that L. plantarum L461 had more defense mechanisms and phage annotation genes than L. plantarum WCFS1. Virulence factor studies showed that L. plantarum L461 has iron absorption system and adhesion-related gene annotation, indicating that L. plantarum L461 has survival advantage in intestinal tract. The predicted results showed that there were eight phages with phage resistance in L. plantarum L461. L. plantarum L461 is sensitive to several antibiotics, notably penicillin and oxacillin. In summary, the results of this study prove that L. plantarum L461 has good prebiotic function and is safe. Therefore, L. plantarum L461 can be safely used as a potential functional probiotic.

Abstract
Fusarium wilt has occurred in the main Piper nigrum cultivation regions, which seriously affects the yield and quality of P. nigrum. To identify the pathogen of this disease, the diseased roots were collected from a demonstration base in Hainan Province. The pathogen was obtained by tissue isolation method and confirmed by pathogenicity test. Based on the morphological observation, sequence analyses of TEF1-α nuclear gene, Fusarium solani was identified as the pathogen causing P. nigrum Fusarium wilt and induced symptoms on inoculated plants, including chlorosis, necrotic spots, wilt, drying, and root rot. The experiments for the antifungal activity showed that all the 11 fungicides selected in this study showed certain inhibitory effects on the colony growth of F. solani, where 2% kasugamycin AS, 45% prochloraz EW, 25 g·L-1 fludioxonil SC and 430 g·L-1 tebuconazole SC exhibited relative higher inhibitory effects with EC50 as 0.065, 0.205, 0.395, and 0.483 mg·L-1 , respectively, and were selected to perform SEM analysis and test in seeds in vitro. The SEM analysis showed that kasugamycin, prochloraz, fludioxonil, and tebuconazole might have exerted their antifungal effect by damaging F. solani mycelia or microconidia. These preparations were applied as a seed coating of P. nigrum Reyin-1. The kasugamycin treatment was most effective in reducing the harmful impact of F. solani on the seed germination. These results presented herein provide useful guidance for the effective control of P. nigrum Fusarium wilt.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With the development of an aging sociality, aging-related diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, are dramatically increasing. To find small molecules from natural products that can prevent the aging of human beings and the occurrence of these diseases, we used the lifespan assay of yeast as a bioassay system to screen an antiaging substance. Isoquercitrin (IQ), an antiaging substance, was isolated from Apocynum venetum L., an herbal tea commonly consumed in Xinjiang, China. AIM OF THE STUDY In the present study, we utilized molecular-biology technology to clarify the mechanism of action of IQ. METHODS The replicative lifespans of K6001 yeasts and the chronological lifespans of YOM36 yeasts were used to screen and confirm the antiaging effect of IQ. Furthermore, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde (MDA) assay, the survival assay of yeast under stresses, real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting analyses, the replicative-lifespan assay of mutants, such as Δsod1, Δsod2, Δgpx, Δcat, Δskn7, Δuth1, Δatg32, Δatg2, and Δrim15 of K6001, autophagy flux analysis, and a lifespan assay of K6001 yeast after giving a mitophagy inhibitor and activator were performed. RESULTS IQ extended the replicative lifespans of the K6001 yeasts and the chronological lifespans of the YOM36 yeasts. Furthermore, the reactive nitrogen species (RNS) showed no change during the growth phase but significantly decreased in the stationary phase after treatment with IQ. The survival rates of the yeasts under oxidative- and thermal-stress conditions improved upon IQ treatment, and thermal stress was alleviated by the increasing superoxide dismutase (Sod) activity. Additionally, IQ decreased the ROS and MDA of the yeast while increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes. However, it could not prolong the replicative lifespans of Δsod1, Δsod2, Δgpx, Δcat, Δskn7, and Δuth1 of K6001. IQ significantly increased autophagy and mitophagy induction, the presence of free green fluorescent protein (GFP) in the cytoplasm, and ubiquitination in the mitochondria of the YOM38 yeasts at the protein level. IQ did not prolong the replicative lifespans of Δatg2 and Δatg32 of K6001. Moreover, IQ treatment led to a decrease in Sch9 at the protein level and an increase in the nuclear translocation of Rim15 and Msn2. CONCLUSIONS These results indicated that the Sch9/Rim15/Msn signaling pathway, as well as antioxidative stress, anti-thermal stress, and autophagy, were involved in the antiaging effects of IQ in the yeasts.

Abstract
In recent years, the blending of hydrocolloids and natural starch to improve the properties of natural starch has become a research hotspot. In this study, the effects of pectin (PEC) on the retrogradation properties and in vitro digestibility of waxy rice starch (WRS) were investigated. The results showed that PEC could significantly (p < 0.05) reduce the retrogradation enthalpy and reduce the hardness of WRS gel. X-ray diffraction results indicated that PEC could reduce the relative crystallinity of the composite system, and the higher the PEC content, the lower the relative crystallinity. When the PEC content was 10%, the relative crystallinity of the composite system was only 10.6% after 21 d of cold storage. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results proved that the interaction between PEC and WRS was mainly a hydrogen bond interaction. Furthermore, after 21 d of cold storage, the T23 free water signal appeared in the natural WRS paste, while only a small free water signal appeared in the compound system with 2% PEC addition. Moreover, addition of PEC could reduce the starch digestion rate and digestibility. When the content of PEC increased from 0% to 10%, the digestibility decreased from 82.31% to 71.84%. This study provides a theoretical basis for the further application of hydrocolloids in starch-based foods.

Abstract
Systemic antifungal agents are essential for high-risk patients undergoing immunosuppressive therapy or cancer chemotherapy because of the rapid increase in opportunistic fungal infections. Therapeutic drug monitoring is crucial to ensuring the efficacy and safety of antifungal agents owing to their pharmacokinetic variability. In the present study, we developed and validated a quantitative method for the simultaneous detection of seven commonly used antifungal drugs (amphotericin B, isavuconazole, voriconazole, fluconazole, posaconazole, caspofungin, and micafungin) using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Methanol (containing 0.1% formic acid) was used for protein precipitation and only 50 μL of serum was required for the analysis. Chromatographic separation was conducted using a Waters Acquity UPLC C8 column, and one stable isotope-labeled agent and two analogs were used as internal standards. The calibration curves ranged from 0.1 to 50 μg/mL for all agents, and the correlation coefficient (R2) for all calibration curves was above 0.9835. The intra-day precision (1.2-11.2%), inter-day precision (2.4-13.2%), and mean bias values (-10.9 to 13.6%) were within an acceptable range of ±15%. Successful implementation of the developed method in clinical practice would facilitate the effective monitoring of these antifungal agents.

Abstract
Pandemic SARS-CoV-2 has undergone rapid evolution resulting in the emergence of many variants with mutations in the spike protein, some of which appear to evade antibody neutralization, transmit more efficiently, and/or exhibit altered virulence. This raises significant concerns regarding the efficacy of anti-S monoclonal antibody-based therapeutics which have failed against variant SARS-CoV-2 viruses. To address this concern, SAB-185, a human anti-SARS-CoV-2 polyclonal antibody was generated in the DiversitAb platform. SAB-185 exhibited equivalent, robust in vitro neutralization for Munich, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Δ144-146 variants and, although diminished, retained PRNT50 and PRNT80 neutralization endpoints for Delta and Omicron variants. Human ACE2 transgenic Syrian hamsters, which exhibit lethal SARS-CoV-2 disease, were protected from mortality after challenge with the Munich, Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Δ144-146 variants and clinical signs after non-lethal Omicron BA.1 infection. This suggests that SAB-185 may be an effective immunotherapy even in the presence of ongoing viral mutation.

Abstract
A carbon matrix-supported Ni catalyst with surface/subsurface S species is prepared using a sacrificial metal-organic framework synthesis strategy. The resulting highly dispersed Ni-S/C catalyst contains surface discontinuous and electron-deficient Niδ+ sites modified by p-block S elements. This catalyst proved to be extremely active and selective for alkyne hydrogenation. Specifically, high intrinsic activity (TOF = 0.0351 s-1) and superior selectivity (>90%) at complete conversion were achieved, whereas an analogous S-free sample prepared by the same synthetic route performed poorly. That is, the incorporation of S in Ni particles and the carbon matrix exerts a remarkable positive effect on catalytic behavior for alkyne hydrogenation, breaking the activity-selectivity trade-off. Through comprehensive experimental studies, enhanced performance of Ni-S/C was ascribed to the presence of discontinuous Ni ensembles, which promote desorption of weakly π-bonded ethylene and an optimized electronic structure modified via obvious p-d orbital hybridization.

Abstract
Internal nutrient loading in shallow lakes has long been known as a key driver of eutrophication, especially after external loading reductions. Earlier efforts have been made to quantity the size and potential release of internal nutrient pools in lakes. Yet, links among substrates, microbial processes, and the size and actual release of internal nutrient pools remain largely unclear. To assess the links, sediment organic matter in Lake Taihu, China, was characterized by combining optical measurements, and lake-wide sediment gross nitrogen (N) transformations were measured using the stable isotope (15N) dilution technique. Meanwhile, respirations and nutrient fluxes across the sediment-water interface (SWI) were measured by conducting intact core continuous-flow incubations. The cause-effect relationships among sediment physicochemical parameters (especially organic matter properties), gross N transformations, extractable nutrient concentrations, and nutrient fluxes across the SWI were revealed by partial least square path models. Results showed that environmental controls on the N transformation rates at different seasons varied, with sediment-derived dissolved organic matter abundance being more important than other variables in driving the rates during summer blooms. This study put a step toward revealing the significant positive effects of sediment organic matter mineralization on porewater nutrient concentrations and then on nutrient fluxes across the SWI at late season. The significant positive correlation between the gross N mineralization rates and ammonium fluxes across the SWI and the estimated considerable volume of net N mineralization in summer further suggested that algal blooms can get substantial inorganic N from sediment N mineralization during the lake N limitation period. Overall, this paper presents new insights into the substrates- and microbial process-driven internal nutrient loading of shallow lakes, which is the fundamental driving force of internal nutrient loading formation.

Abstract
Disinfection by-products (DBPs) with significant teratogenic and carcinogenic properties have become a growing concern among the public. As an efficient and environmentally friendly technology, non-thermal plasma offers potential for removing emerging micro-pollutants. In this study, the degradation performance of bubbling corona discharge was evaluated on 24 halogenated alicyclic and aliphatic DBPs present in drinking water at concentrations ranging from ng/L to μg/L. The degradation of DBPs followed pseudo-first-order kinetics with rate constants (kobs) in the descending order of halonitromethanes (HNMs), halogenated benzoquinones (HBQs), haloacetonitriles, trihalomethanes (THMs), haloketones, halogenated aldehydes, and haloacetic acids (HAAs). THMs, HNMs, and HBQs were effectively removed within 5 min under a discharge power of 28 W. Degradation rates achieved by plasma treatment surpass those of other conventional treatment technologies. The required energy consumption was in the range of 5-30 kW·h/m3/order. Furthermore, the study investigated the effects of discharge power, initial concentration, and economic analysis on the degradation of four selected DBPs as representatives of mono-, di- and multi-carbon-containing DBPs, namely chloroform (TCM) and bromoform (TBM), tribromoacetic acid (TBAA), and 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (TetraC-BQ). Reactive radicals in the plasma system were investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance, optical emission spectroscopy, fluorimetry, and radical scavengers. Hydrated electrons and hydroxyl radicals played an important role in the removal of DBPs. The intermediates generated during the degradation of TCM, TBM, TBAA, and TetraC-BQ were identified, and the possible degradation pathways for mono- and binary C-DBPs and HBQs were deduced. The breakdown of HBQs did not produce secondary contamination with aliphatic DBPs. The carbon in DBPs was primarily converted to formic acid, acetic acid, and oxalic acid, and the halogens were mainly converted to halogen ions. Additionally, luminescent bacteria toxicity testing confirmed that plasma treatment could reduce the acute toxicity of water samples. These findings demonstrate the potential of plasma treatment as a post-treatment device at the household level.

Abstract
The diffuse Galactic γ-ray emission, mainly produced via interactions between cosmic rays and the interstellar medium and/or radiation field, is a very important probe of the distribution, propagation, and interaction of cosmic rays in the Milky Way. In this Letter, we report the measurements of diffuse γ rays from the Galactic plane between 10 TeV and 1 PeV energies, with the square kilometer array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Diffuse emissions from the inner (15°10 TeV). The energy spectrum in the inner Galaxy regions can be described by a power-law function with an index of -2.99±0.04, which is different from the curved spectrum as expected from hadronic interactions between locally measured cosmic rays and the line-of-sight integrated gas content. Furthermore, the measured flux is higher by a factor of ∼3 than the prediction. A similar spectrum with an index of -2.99±0.07 is found in the outer Galaxy region, and the absolute flux for 10≲E≲60 TeV is again higher than the prediction for hadronic cosmic ray interactions. The latitude distributions of the diffuse emission are consistent with the gas distribution, while the longitude distributions show clear deviation from the gas distribution. The LHAASO measurements imply that either additional emission sources exist or cosmic ray intensities have spatial variations.

Abstract
Background Radiation pneumonitis (RP) is the primary dose-limiting toxicity associated with radiotherapy. This study aimed to observe the effects of renin-angiotensin system inhibitors in Chinese patients with lung cancer who received thoracic radiation. Methods Patients with lung cancer who received thoracic radiation at a total dose of ≥45 Gray between October 2017 and December 2022 were enrolled in this study. We retrospectively evaluated the factors influencing grade 2 or higher RP. Results A total of 320 patients were enrolled in this study; 62 patients were identified as angiotensin receptor blockers or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor users. Additionally, 99 patients (30.9%) had grade 2 or higher RP, and the incidence in the renin-angiotensin system inhibitor group was 17.7% (11 out of 62 patients). Patients in the renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) group were older and had a higher percentage of males, lower percentage of ECOG score 0, higher percentage of hypertension, and higher percentage of adenocarcinoma than those in the non-RASi group. ECOG score [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.69, p = 0.009], history of smoking (HR = 1.76, p = 0.049), mean dose (HR = 3.63, p = 0.01), and RASi (HR = 0.3, p = 0.003) were independent predictive factors for RP. All subgroups benefited from RASi. Conclusion This study showed that oral RASi administration has the potential to mitigate the incidence of grade 2 or higher RP in patients with lung cancer undergoing thoracic radiotherapy. To validate and further substantiate these findings, additional prospective research is warranted.

Abstract
The overcrowding of scenic spots not only threatens tourists' safety but also affects the travel experience. Traditional methods for addressing tourist overload have involved limited access and guided evacuation. While limited access has been effective, it often results in a diminished tourist experience. Moreover, the existing guided evacuation rarely considers the impact on tourists' experience, resulting in a low willingness to cooperate and making it difficult to estimate evacuation effort efficiency. To solve these problems, this paper proposed a tourist evacuation route recommendation algorithm based on a graph neural network considering the similarity of tourism styles (PER-GCN) and designed a visualization system to simulate and analyse evacuation efficiency. First, the interaction matrix of tourists and scenic spots was constructed using graph mining to extract the high-order interaction information. In the output layer, the similarity between scenic spots and tourism styles was calculated to further improve the accuracy of scenic spot recommendations. Second, due to route complexity and the real-time carrying capacity of scenic spots, the researchers optimized the evacuation routes. Finally, taking the West Lake spot as the case study, the effectiveness of PER-GCN was verified. Additionally, a visualization system was designed to monitor tourist flow in real time and analyse tourist portraits according to the clustering results of scenic spot styles. In addition, the evacuation efficiency of scenic spots was analysed by adjusting the parameters of tourists' willingness to cooperate, evacuation batch, and the weight of route complexity and scenic spot carrying capacity.

Abstract
Lindane is a broad-spectrum organochlorine insecticide which has been included in the persistent organic pollutants (POPs) list together with its two hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers. Due to its continuous use in the past decades, the environmental impacts of HCHs are still severe now. Therefore, in the present study, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma was used as an advanced oxidation process for the destruction of HCHs in water. The result indicated that in air-DBD system, over 95.4% of the initial 5 mg L-1 lindane was degraded within 60 min. Moreover, DBD plasma displayed high degradation efficiencies of other HCH isomers including α, β, and δ-HCH. Electron spin resonance spectra, scavenging experiments and theoretical calculations revealed that the synergistic effects of various reactive species were the main reason for the high efficiency of DBD plasma. For instance, both hydroxyl radicals (•OH) and electrons (e-) could initiate the degradation of HCHs, while other reactive species such as 1O2 and ONOOH played important roles in the decomposition of intermediates. Therefore, the present study not only provided an effective approach for the treatment of HCHs, but also revealed the underlying mechanism based on in-depth experimental investigation and theoretical calculation.

Abstract
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has attracted great attention in recent years as a popular class of functional food that is broadly used. It refers to a group of geometric and positional isomers of linoleic acid (LA) with a conjugated double bond. The main natural sources of CLA are dairy products, beef and lamb, whereas only trace amounts occur naturally in plant lipids. CLA has been shown to improve various health issues, having effects on obesity, inflammatory, anti-carcinogenicity, atherogenicity, immunomodulation, and osteosynthesis. Also, compared to studies on humans, many animal researches reveal more positive benefits on health. CLA represents a nutritional avenue to improve lifestyle diseases and metabolic syndrome. Most of these effects are attributed to the two major CLA isomers [conjugated linoleic acid cis-9,trans-11 isomer (c9,t11), and conjugated linoleic acid trans-10,cis-12 isomer (t10,c12)], and their mixture (CLA mix). In contrast, adverse effects of CLA have been also reported, such as glucose homeostasis, insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis and induction of colon carcinogenesis in humans, as well as milk fat inhibition in ruminants, lowering chicken productivity, influencing egg quality and altering growth performance in fish. This review article aims to discuss the health benefits of CLA as a nutraceutical supplement and highlight the possible mechanisms of action that may contribute to its outcome. It also outlines the feasible adverse effects of CLA besides summarizing the recent peer-reviewed publications on CLA to ensure its efficacy and safety for proper application in humans.

Abstract
Objective. Early detection and diagnosis allow for intervention and treatment at an early stage of breast cancer. Despite recent advances in computer aided diagnosis systems based on convolutional neural networks for breast cancer diagnosis, improving the classification performance of mammograms remains a challenge due to the various sizes of breast lesions and difficult extraction of small lesion features. To obtain more accurate classification results, many studies choose to directly classify region of interest (ROI) annotations, but labeling ROIs is labor intensive. The purpose of this research is to design a novel network to automatically classify mammogram image as cancer and no cancer, aiming to mitigate or address the above challenges and help radiologists perform mammogram diagnosis more accurately.Approach. We propose a novel feature selection and enhancement network (FSE-Net) to fully exploit the features of mammogram images, which requires only mammogram images and image-level labels without any bounding boxes or masks. Specifically, to obtain more contextual information, an effective feature selection module is proposed to adaptively select the receptive fields and fuse features from receptive fields of different scales. Moreover, a feature enhancement module is designed to explore the correlation between feature maps of different resolutions and to enhance the representation capacity of low-resolution feature maps with high-resolution feature maps.Main results. The performance of the proposed network has been evaluated on the CBIS-DDSM dataset and INbreast dataset. It achieves an accuracy of 0.806 with an AUC of 0.866 on the CBIS-DDSM dataset and an accuracy of 0.956 with an AUC of 0.974 on the INbreast dataset.Significance. Through extensive experiments and saliency map visualization analysis, the proposed network achieves the satisfactory performance in the mammogram classification task, and can roughly locate suspicious regions to assist in the final prediction of the entire images.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the mortality trend of hypertension in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province, Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (6 provinces) in northwestern China, from 2013 to 2021, and evaluate the influence of hypertension on people's life expectancy. Methods: Based on national death surveillance data and demographic data in the 6 provinces from 2013 to 2021, the mortality rate, standardized mortality rate, life expectancy, cause eliminated life expectancy (CELE), potential gains in life expectancy (PGLEs) and life loss rate of hypertension were calculated. Software Joinpoint was used to analyze the mortality trends and calculate average annual percentage change (AAPC) and annual percentage change (APC) in hypertension deaths. Results: From 2013 to 2021, the overall standardized mortality rate of hypertension in the 6 provinces showed a downward trend (AAPC=-1.82%, P=0.050). The mortality rate in rural area was always higher than that in urban area, and showed an increasing trend after 2016 (APC=4.74%, P=0.003), and the mortality rate in men was always higher than that in women. The incidence trend of deaths of different types of hypertension were different, and the deaths caused by hypertensive heart disease accounted for the highest proportion (72.69%). In 2021, the life expectancy of the population in the 6 provinces increased by 1.01 years, the CELE increased by 0.93 years, the PGLEs decreased by 0.08 years, and the life loss rate decreased by 0.11% compared with 2013. Conclusions: The overall standardized mortality rate of hypertension showed a decreasing trend in the 6 northwestern provinces from 2013 to 2021, but it showed an increasing trend in rural area after 2016. Prevention of hypertension should be further strengthened in rural area, men and elderly population.
