Abstract
Objective: To further study the most suitable parameters for automatic full crown preparation using oral clinical micro robot. Its purpose is to improve the quality of automated tooth preparing for the system and to lay the foundation for clinical application. Methods: Twenty selected artificial resin teeth were used as sample teeth. The micro robot automatic tooth preparation system was used in dental clinic to control the picosecond laser beam to complete two dimensional cutting on the resin tooth sample according to the motion planning path. Using the laser scanning measuring microscope, each layer of cutting depth values was obtained and the average value was calculated. The monolayer cutting depth was determined. The three-dimensional (3D) data of the target resin teeth was obtained using internal scanner, and the CAD data of full-crown tooth preparation was designed by CAD self-develged software. According to the depth of the single layer, 11 complete resin teeth in phantom head were automatically prepared by the robot controlling the laser focused spot in accordance with the layer-cutting way. And the accuracy of resin tooth preparation was evaluated with the software. Using the same method, monolayer cutting depth parameter for cutting dental hard tissue was obtained. Then 15 extracted mandibular and maxillary first molars went through automatic full crown tooth preparation. And the 3D data of tooth preparations were obtained with intra oral scanner. The software was used to evaluate the accuracy of tooth preparation. Results: The results indicated that the single cutting depth of cutting resin teeth and in vitro teeth by picosecond laser were (60.0±2.6) and (45.0±3.6) μm, respectively. Using the tooth preparation robot, 11 artificial resin teeth and 15 complete natural teeth were automatically prepared, and the average time were (13.0±0.7), (17.0±1.8) min respectively. Through software evaluation, the average preparation depth of the occlusal surface of 11 resin teeth was approximately (2.089±0.026) mm, the error was about (0.089±0.026) mm; the average convergence angle was about 6.56°±0.30°, the error was about 0.56°±0.30°. Compared with the target preparation shape, the average shape error of the 11 resin tooth preparations was about 0.02-0.11 mm. And the average preparation depth of the occlusal surface of 15 natural teeth was approximately (2.097±0.022) mm, the error was about (0.097±0.022) mm; the average convergence angle was about 6.98°±0.35°, the error was about 0.98°±0.35°. Compared with the target preparation shape, the average shape error of the 15 natural tooth preparations was about 0.05-0.17 mm. Conclusions: The experimental results indicate that the automatic tooth preparation for resin teeth and the teeth were completed according to the specific parameters of the single cutting depth by the micro robot controlling picosecond laser respectively, its preparation accuracy met the clinical needs. And the suitability of the parameter was confirmed.

Abstract
Objective: To discuss a novel method of complete revascularization for multi-vessel coronary diseases on beating heart off-pump surgery through lower ministernotomy. Methods: Clinical data of 79 patients underwent ministernotomy off-pump coronary artery bypass from January 2015 to May 2016 at Department of Cardiac Surgery, Heart Center, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University were analyzed retrospectively. There were 62 male and 17 female patients, with an average age of (65±9) years. All the patients were multi-vessel coronary diseases and planned to receive coronary artery bypass grafting. Left internal mammary artery, radial artery and great saphenous veins were harvested and prepared, respectively. The perioperative clinical data was observed and collected. Postoperative ventilator-assisted time, intensive care time, and 24-hour thoracic mediastinal drainage volume were recorded. Postoperative cardiac function was evaluated by echocardiography. The data were compared between pre- and post-operative using paired t test. Results: Cardiopulmonary bypass was used in 2 patients during operation because of unstable hemodynamic status, but the incision was not needed to extend for those 2 patients. The lower ministernotomy was converted to traditional full sternotomy in 2 patients due to limited space for proximal anastomosis. In total, 79 patients had an average of (2.8±0.6) grafts. One proximal anastomosis was performed in 75 patients and 2 anastomoses in 4 patients. Distal target vessels consisted of left descending arteries for 79 patients, posterior descending artery for 60 patients, obtuse marginal branch and intermediate branch for 56 patients and diagonal branches for 25 patients, respectively. Average postoperative ventilation time was (19.0±2.2) hours and ICU stay was (60±20) hours. One patient developed postoperative myocardial infarction and needed temporary intra-aortic balloon pump support. One patient was subjected to incision infection. None of patient died in this study. There were no significant differences in left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and left ventricular end-systolic diameter between pre- and post-operative. The post-operative ejection fraction was significantly higher than that pre-operative (66.5%±1.6% vs. 61.2%±2.3%, t=4.30, P=0.00). Conclusion: With lower ministernotomy, the various sites of distal target vessels could be reached and complete revascularization could be achieved for selected patients with triple vessel diseases, although the procedure is technical demanding.

Abstract
Yes-associated protein (Yap) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (Taz) are two downstream factors in the Hippo signaling pathway. Yap and Taz participate in regulating organ size, stem cell self-renewal, proliferation and differentiation. We investigated the spatial-temporal expression and relative expression levels of Yap and Taz using immunohistochemistry and real-time polymerase chain reaction. We found Yap and Taz in the oral epithelium and mesenchyme at embryonic (E) day 14.5 (E14.5) and E16.5. By E18.5, Yap and Taz were detected in the dental papilla and the entire enamel organ. At postnatal (P) day 0 (PN0), PN3 and PN7, Yap and Taz expression was localized in ameloblasts, odontoblasts and stratum intermedium. Yap and Taz were expressed in Hertwig's epithelial root sheath (HERS) at PN7. At PN3, PN7 and PN14, Yap was detected in the enamel matrix. From PN21 to PN28, Yap and Taz were absent from differentiated ameloblasts, but they were expressed in odontoblasts. From PN0 to PN10, the Yap and Taz mRNA expression increased, then decreased. We found that Yap and Taz may influence the differentiation of ameloblasts and odontoblasts; they also may contribute to enamel mineralization, crown morphogenesis and root formation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to prospectively investigate the incidence of ventilator associated events (VAEs) in intensive care units (ICUs) among adult patients, and to evaluate the correlation between VAEs and ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). METHODS A prospective 3-month cohort study (January 2015 to March 2015) was carried out. VAEs were divided into three groups: with ventilator-associated condition (VAC), with infection related ventilator-associated complication (IVAC) and with possible VAP (PVAP). Sensitivity and specificity of VAEs were evaluated and compared to the traditional VAP. Kappa test was applied to judge the consistency of VAC and VAP. RESULTS During Jan. 2015 and Mar. 2015, 1 014 patients were admitted to 8 ICUs, with 7 977 patients per day. In total, 197 patients used the mechanical ventilation installation, with, a total number of 3 152 ventilator-days. Finally, 1 214 ventilation days in the VAC group and 1 938 ventilation days in the non-VAC group) that were available for final analysis. 46 VAC cases were identified including 22 classified as IVAC (14.59 and 6.98 per 1 000 ventilation days, respectively). Length of ICU stay and duration on mechanical ventilation for VAC patients were both significantly longer than those for non-VAC patients (P<0.05). Sensitivity and specificity of the VAC criteria for the detection of VAP were 36.92% and 83.33%, respectively. CONCLUSION The VAEs surveillance paradigms could be applied to monitor patients on the use of mechanical ventilation installation. However, sensitivity and specificity of VAC were under pool for the diagnosis of VAP. However, automatically surveillance programs was relied on the improvement of auto-information systems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To construct a lentiviral vector for RNA interference (RNAi) of the HJURP gene and to identify the silencing efficiency in the human embryo villus cells and to provide a human embryo villus cells multiplication and chromosome segregation. MATERIALS AND METHODS In accordance with the study, three specific sequences of siRNA targeting HJURP gene were designed, synthesized, then the complementary DNA containing both sense and antisense oligonucleotides of the targeting sequences were annealed and inserted into the lentiviral vector. The correct clonings were confirmed by PCR and sequencing. The most effective recombinant lentivirus vector was screened, and the recombinant plasmids with the lentivirus packaging mixes were co-transfected into 293T cells to obtain packaged lentivirus particles. Then viral titer was determined. The silencing efficiency of target gene in human embryo villus cells was detected by Real-Time PCR. RESULTS DNA sequencing showed that the shRNA sequence was successfully inserted into the lentivirus vector. The recombinant lentiviral vector was successfully transfected into 293T cells. The recombinant lentivirus had a titer of 108 PFU/ml. After silencing HJURP gene in human embryo villus cells, the expression level of HJURP mRNA decreased significantly and the RNAi efficiency was greater than 70%. CONCLUSION A lentiviral shRNA expression vector targeting the HJURP gene was successfully constructed and may effectively silence the target gene at a cellular level, which provides a experimental model for the influence of HJURP gene expressing inhibition on human embryo villus cells multiplication and chromosome segregation.

Abstract
To assess the genetic diversity, structure, and population dynamics of Schizopygopsis pylzovi, we examined the changes in mitochondrial DNA sequences (the mtDNA control region and the Cyt b gene; 1835 bp) in 304 individuals from nine populations. The samples were segregated into 112 haplotypes, with high haplotype diversity and low nucleotide diversity. The haplotype diversity was highest in the Minhe (HS) range of Huangshui River and lowest in the Weiyuan (WY) range of Weihe River. Analysis of molecular variance showed that 69.64% of the total genetic variance was contributed by within-the-group variation and 30.36% was contributed by among-the-group variation. Pairwise FST revealed significant divergence between the populations. The FST between the MT and WY was highest, and that between the YZ and YJ was lowest. The neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree demonstrated that all geographic populations were not monophyletic, but overlapped each other, indicating that the duration of geographical isolation was not long enough or the populations had not yet reached significant genetic isolation or differentiation at the monophyletic level. Tajima's D and Fu's Fs were negative and statistically significant, indicating that S. pylzovi had experienced certain population expansion events, which is consistent with the hypothesis that the headwater area of the Yellow River was dramatically affected by the geological and climatic upheaval during the Quaternary ice age. Our analysis indicated that the management units corresponding to the WY population should be managed and conserved first. In situ conservation is first recommended to protect the original habitat from further destruction.

Abstract
A new radial neutron camera system has been developed and operated recently in the HL-2A tokamak to measure the spatial and time resolved 2.5 MeV D-D fusion neutron, enhancing the understanding of the energetic-ion physics. The camera mainly consists of a multichannel collimator, liquid-scintillation detectors, shielding systems, and a data acquisition system. Measurements of the D-D fusion neutrons using the camera have been successfully performed during the 2015 HL-2A experiment campaign. The measurements show that the distribution of the fusion neutrons in the HL-2A plasma has a peaked profile, suggesting that the neutral beam injection beam ions in the plasma have a peaked distribution. It also suggests that the neutrons are primarily produced from beam-target reactions in the plasma core region. The measurement results from the neutron camera are well consistent with the results of both a standard (235)U fission chamber and NUBEAM neutron calculations. In this paper, the new radial neutron camera system on HL-2A and the first experimental results are described.

Abstract
In this study, we examined the molecular mechanism of thyroid carcinoma (THCA) using bioinformatics. RNA-sequencing data of THCA (N = 498) and normal thyroid tissue (N = 59) were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Next, gene expression levels were calculated using the TCC package and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified using the edgeR package. A co-expression network was constructed using the EBcoexpress package and visualized by Cytoscape, and functional and pathway enrichment of DEGs in the co-expression network was analyzed with DAVID and KOBAS 2.0. Moreover, modules in the co-expression network were identified and annotated using MCODE and BiNGO plugins. Small-molecule drugs were analyzed using the cMAP database, and miRNAs and transcription factors regulating DEGs were identified by WebGestalt. A total of 254 up-regulated and 59 down-regulated DEGs were identified between THCA samples and controls. DEGs enriched in biological process terms were related to cell adhesion, death, and growth and negatively correlated with various small-molecule drugs. The co-expression network of the DEGs consisted of hub genes (ITGA3, TIMP1, KRT19, and SERPINA1) and one module (JUN, FOSB, and EGR1). Furthermore, 5 miRNAs and 5 transcription factors were identified, including E2F, HSF2, and miR-26. miR-26 may participate in THCA by targeting CITED1 and PLA2R1; E2F may participate in THCA by regulating ITGA3, TIMP1, KRT19, EGR1, and JUN; HSF2 may be involved in THCA development by regulating SERPINA1 and FOSB; and small-molecule drugs may have anti-THCA effects. Our results provide novel directions for mechanistic studies and drug design of THCA.

Abstract
Small heat shock proteins (sHSPs) have been implicated in many physiological processes and play important roles in the response to various stresses. In this study, the full-length sequences of six sHSPs: OcHSP19.1, 19.8, 20.4, 20.7, 21.1, and 23.8 were obtained from the rice grasshopper Oxya chinensis transcriptome database. The deduced amino acid sequences of the six OcsHSPs contain a typical α-crystallin domain, which consists of approximately 100 amino acid residues and five β-strands. The phylogenetic analysis suggested that OcHSP23.8 was orthologous to the sHSPs of other species and that OcHSP19.1, 20.4, 20.7, and 21.1 were species specific, whereas OcHSP19.8 did not cluster closely to Orthoptera but was placed on the basal end of the cluster. Developmental stage-dependent and tissue-specific expression patterns were evaluated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The six genes were expressed in all developmental stages and showed clear tissue specificity. The cadmium acute experiment indicates that Cd(2+) can induce the six genes. However, various response patterns were observed among these genes under Cd(2+) stress conditions. OcHSP19.1, 19.8, 20.4, and 20.7 were highly induced by 2.61 mM Cd(2+) at 24 h. OcHSP23.8 was significantly upregulated by 2.61 mM Cd(2+) at 6 h. For OcHSP21.1, the highest expression levels were found after treatment with 0.87 mM Cd(2+) for 24 h, 1.74 mM Cd(2+) for 36 h, and 2.61 mM Cd(2+) for 12 h. These differential characteristics will facilitate future investigations into the physiological functions of sHSPs.

Abstract
Diabetic neuropathic pain is reduced with tight glycemic control. However, strict control increases the risk of hypoglycemic episodes, which are themselves linked to painful neuropathy. This study explored the effects of hypoglycemia-related painful neuropathy. Pretreatment with coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) was performed to explore the preventive effect of CoQ10 on hypoglycemia-related acute neuropathic pain. Two strains of mice were used and 1 unit/kg of insulin was given to induce hypoglycemia. Mechanical sensitivity of hindpaw withdrawal thresholds was measured using von Frey filaments. Blood glucose levels were clamped at normal levels by joint insulin and glucose injection to test whether insulin itself induced hypersensitivity. Results suggest that the increased mechanical sensitivity after insulin injection is related to decreased blood glucose levels. When blood glucose levels remained at a normal level by the linked administration of insulin and glucose, mice demonstrated no significant change in mechanical sensitivity. Pretreatment with CoQ10 prevented neuropathic pain and the expression of the stress factor c-Fos. These results support the concept that pain in the diabetic scenario can be the result of hypoglycemia and not insulin itself. Additionally, pretreatment with CoQ10 may be a potent preventive method for the development of neuropathic pain.

Abstract
As ultrasound diagnosis is applied more frequently in gynecological acute abdomen, we carried out this study to discuss the diagnosis of endometriosis with ultrasound imaging and analyze the efficacy of microRNA used for diagnosing endometriosis and evaluating prognosis by comparing differentially expressed microRNA in subjects with or without endometriosis. Ultrasound examination results and clinical pathological examination results of 60 cases of gynecological acute abdomen were compared. Blood samples were collected from patients with endometriosis. Of 60 cases, 38 cases recurred in 20 months after surgery and the remaining 22 cases had no recurrence in the 30-month follow-up. Additionally, blood was collected from 40 patients without endometriosis as control. Then total RNA was extracted from these blood samples to determine the difference of expression of microRNA (miR-17-5p, miR-20a, miR-199a and miR-141). Compared to healthy subjects, the endometriosis patients showed significantly increased expression of miR-199a, but the expression of miR-17-5p, miR-20a and miR-141 had an obvious decrease; the differences were statistically significant (p less than 0.01). For recurred cases, miR-199 showed a remarkably high expression and miR-17-5p and miR-20a expressed significantly low.

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate relationships between transient elastography values and liver fibrosis in chronic liver disease patients with normal or mildly abnormal aminotransferase levels. Fifty-six patients were enrolled in the study. Transient elastography and liver biopsy were performed on the same day, and the fibrosis was staged based on the Scheuer scoring system. Liver stiffness was measured to assessed liver fibrosis using transient elastography. The transient elastography values of 12 patients with chronic hepatitis B were studied before and 6 months after antiviral treatment. The sensitivity and specificity for 10.88 kPa in S3 were 80 and 87.8%, and for 19.4 kPa in S4, were 100 and 90.7%, respectively. In univariate analysis, liver stiffness strongly correlated with the fibrosis stage (r = 0.70, P < 0.5), moderately correlated with the aminotransferases (r = 0.398, P < 0.05), and poorly correlated with the degree of necroinflammatory activity (r = 0.19, P < 0.5). In multivariate regression, liver stiffness correlated only with the fibrosis stage (P < 0.05). Pre- and post-treatment viral loads were not significantly different [(4.81 ± 0.15) x 10(6) vs (7.62 ± 0. 16) x 10(3), P > 0.05]. Pre- and post-treatment LS measurements were not correlated with viral load (P > 0.05). Pre- and post-treatment LS measurements were not significantly different (P > 0.02). In conclusion, transient elastography values correlated with the stage of cirrhosis, alanine aminotransferase levels, and antiviral treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis B and did not correlate with viral loads.

Abstract
We investigated azoospermia region microdeletions in male infertility patients with Klinefelter syndrome (KFS), as well as the association between azoospermia symptoms in patients with KFS and Y chromosome microdeletion polymorphisms. A total of 111 cases with male infertility confirmed to have KFS (47, XXY) and 94 fertile men were included in this study. Peripheral blood was drawn and DNA was extracted from these samples. Multiplex polymerase chain reaction was performed to screen the partial deletions of 25 sequence-tagged sites on the Y chromosome. In 111 cases with KFS, 1 case contained the AZFb+d+c deletion. The Gr/Gr deletion was identified in 12 KFS cases and 5 control cases. In addition, the b2/b3 deletion was identified in 13 KFS cases and 6 control cases. There were no significant differences in phenotype and genotype of the 2 partial AZFc deletions between patients and controls (P > 0.05). Our results suggest that patients with KFS may also have Y chromosome microdeletions to varying degrees and that the gr/gr deletion and b2/b3 deletion may not play a role in the susceptible genetic background of azoospermia in patients with KFS in the Sichuan population.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to measure the genetic diversity of wild beach plum and cultivated species, and to determine the species relationships using SSRs markers. An analysis of genetic diversity from ten beach plum germplasms was carried out using 11 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers selected from 35 primers to generate distinct PCR products. From this plant material, 44 allele variations were detected, with 3-5 alleles identified from each primer. The analysis showed that the genetic similarity coefficient varied from 0.721 ± 0.155 to 0.848 ± 0.136 within each of the ten beach plum germplasms and changed within the range of 0.551 ± 0.084 to 0.695 ± 0.073 between any two pairs of germplasms. According to the genetic dissimilarity coefficient matrix, a cluster analysis of SSRs using the unweighted pair group mean average method in the NTSYSpc 2.10 software revealed that the ten germplasms could be divided into two groups at the dissimilarity coefficient of 0.606. Class I included 77.8, 12.5, 30, and 33.3% of MM, MI, NY, and CM, respectively. Class II contains the remaining 9 beach plum germplasms. The markers generated by 11 SSR primers proved very effective in distinguishing the beach plum germplasm resources. It was clear that the geographical distribution did not correspond with the genetic relationships among the different beach plum strains. This result will be of value to beach plum breeding programs.

Abstract
Broad-Complex (BR-C) is an early ecdysone-responsive gene encoding a family of zinc-finger transcription factors. In this study, we isolated the full-length cDNA of a BR-C homolog from the testes of the oriental river prawn (Macrobrachium nipponense), according to established expressed sequence tag information, using the rapid amplification of cDNA ends technique. The homolog was designated as MnBR-C. The full-length cDNA of MnBR-C contained a 1095-bp open reading frame encoding a precursor protein of 365 amino acid residues. Comparative and bioinformatic analyses revealed that MnBR-C exhibited a high degree of homology with BR-C proteins, and contained the BTB and Zf-H2C2-2 domains. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) analysis revealed that the MnBR-C expression level varied significantly in the developing embryo, postembryonic larva, and adult tissue. Real-time qPCR showed that the MnBR-C gene was expressed in all of the tissues investigated, with the highest level of expression in the brain. In addition, MnBR-C was more abundantly expressed in the testes than in the ovaries.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy of an experimental 1450 ppm fluoride as sodium monofluorophosphate (SMFP)/zinc-based dentifrice (Test), a clinically proven 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-based dentifrice (Positive Control), and a 1000 ppm fluoride as SMFP and 450 ppm fluoride as sodium fluoride (NaF) dentifrice (Negative Control) in delivering 12-hour anti-tartar benefits as measured by calcium buildup after a single product brushing. METHODS Fourteen (14) adult subjects completed this single-center, double-blind, randomized, cross-over clinical study conducted in Piscataway, New Jersey. An intra-oral appliance was custom-made for each subject as a surface on which the anti-calculus agents' inhibition of early calculus formation could be analyzed. After brushing with their assigned toothpaste, each subject wore their respective appliance for 12 hours overnight. When the appliance was removed, it was washed, suspended in 0.1 MHCL to release Ca2+ from deposits, and analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) for deposited calcium. There was a one-week washout period between each product use. Statistical analyses were performed on the mean level of calcium (μg). Comparisons of the treatment groups with respect to 12-hour post-brushing (overnight) calcium levels were performed via a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), with subjects and products as factors in the ANOVA model. Post-ANOVA pair-wise comparisons of the study treatments were performed using the Tukey's test for multiple comparisons. All statistical tests of hypothesis were two-sided, and employed a level of significance of α = 0.05. RESULTS At the 12-hour post-brushing examination, the mean level of calcium buildup was 0.46 μg for subjects assigned to the experimental Test dentifrice, 0.41 μg for subjects assigned to the Positive Control dentifrice, and 2.47 μg for subjects assigned to the Negative Control dentifrice. After 12 hours post-brushing, subjects assigned to the experimental Test dentifrice and Positive Control dentifrice both exhibited statistically significantly (p = 0.005 and p = 0.004, respectively) lower levels of calcium buildup as compared to the subjects assigned to the Negative Control dentifrice. No statistically significant (p = 0.996) difference was observed between the experimental Test dentifrice and Positive Control dentifrice with respect to tartar control efficacy after 12 hours post-brushing. No adverse effects of the hard or soft oral tissue were observed by the clinical investigators or reported by the subjects. CONCLUSION Both the experimental Test dentifrice (1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-based dentifrice) and the Positive Control dentifrice (1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-based dentifrice) provided significantly greater 12-hour tartar control as measured by calcium buildup, as compared to the Negative Control dentifrice containing 1000 ppm fluoride as SMFP and 450 ppm fluoride as NaF.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the clinical efficacy in controlling established gingivitis and dental plaque of a 1450 ppm fluoride as sodium monofluorophosphate (SMFP)/zinc-based dentifrice, as compared to a zinc-free dentifrice with 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP after six months product use. METHODS A six-month clinical study, with eighty-six (86) subjects, was conducted in Chengdu, China, using a double-blind, randomized, parallel-group treatment design. After a baseline evaluation, study subjects were randomly assigned to one of the two study treatments: 1) 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-based dentifrice (Test) or 2) 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-free dentifrice (Negative Control). Subjects were provided with a soft bristle toothbrush and brushed their teeth twice daily (morning and evening) for one minute with their assigned dentifrice. After three months, and again after six months of product use, subjects returned to the testing facility for their followup gingivitis and plaque examinations. Statistical analyses were performed separately for the gingivitis assessments and dental plaque assessments using the appropriate statistical methods. All statistical tests of hypotheses were two-sided, and employed a level of significance of α = 0.05. RESULTS After three and six months of product use, subjects assigned to the Test treatment exhibited statistically significant (p < 0.001) reductions in gingival index and plaque index scores as compared to subjects assigned to the Negative Control treatment. CONCLUSION The results of this single-center, double-blind, parallel-group and randomized clinical study support the conclusion that a 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-based dentifrice provides clinically meaningful and statistically significant reductions in gingivitis (23.8%) and dental plaque (22.5%) as compared to a 1450 ppm fluoride as SMFP/zinc-free dentifrice over a six-month period of twice-daily product use.
