Abstract
BackgroundTo investigate the potential prognostic role of C-reactive protein to albumin ratio (CAR) in patients with urinary cancers, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), bladder cancer (BC), and prostate cancer (PC).MethodsWe searched and screened literatures with PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science in January 2022. We applied combined hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) to assess the associations.ResultsThirteen studies including 2,941 cases were analyzed in our study. Merged results indicated that highly pretreated CAR was associated with inferior overall survival (HR 2.21, 95% CI 1.86-2.62, p < 0.001) and progression-free survival (HR 1.85, 95% CI 1.36-2.52, p < 0.001) for urinary cancers. In a subgroup analysis of OS by tumor type, CAR can be a predictor in RCC (HR 2.10, 95% CI 1.72-2.56), BC (HR 3.35, 95% CI 1.94-5.80), and PC (HR 2.20, 95% CI 1.43-3.37). In a subgroup analysis of PFS by tumor type, CAR can be a predictor in BC (HR 1.76, 95% CI 1.03-3.02), and RCC (HR 1.90, 95% CI 1.25-2.89). The reliability and robustness of results were confirmed.ConclusionsHigh pretreated CAR was effective predictor of poor survival in patients with urinary cancers and can act as prognostic factor for these cases.Systematic Review RegistrationPROSPERO (CRD42022306414).

Abstract
To explore the composition and diversity of the intestinal microflora of Leopoldamys edwardsi in Hainan Island. In November 2019, DNA was extracted from fecal samples of 25 adult Leopoldamys edwardsi (14 males and 11 females) in Hainan Island at the Joint Laboratory of tropical infectious diseases of Hainan Medical College and Hong Kong University. Based on the IonS5TMXL sequencing platform, single-end sequencing (Single-End) was used to construct a small fragment library for single-end sequencing. Based on Reads shear filtration and OTUs clustering. The species annotation and abundance analysis of OTUs were carried out by using mothur method and SSUrRNA database, and further conducted α diversity and β diversity analysis. A total of 1481842 high quality sequences, belonging to 14 Phyla, 85 families and 186 Genera, were obtained from 25 intestinal excrement samples of Leopoldamys edwardsi. At the level of phyla classification, the main core biota of the Leopoldamys edwardsi contained Firmicutes (46.04%),Bacteroidetes (25.34%), Proteobacteria (17.09%), Tenericutes (7.38%) and Actinobacteria (1.67%), these five phyla account for 97.52% of all phyla. The ratio of Helicobacter which occupied the largest proportion at the genus level was 12.44%, followed by Lactobacillus (11.39%), Clostridium (6.19%),Mycoplasma (4.23%) and Flavonifractor (3.52%). High throughput sequencing analysis showed that the intestinal flora of Leopoldamys edwardsi in Hainan Island was complex and diverse, which had the significance of further research.

Abstract
Objective(s) HIV-1-infected Chinese patients who were treated naïve with combination dolutegravir (DTG) and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) group, DTG without TDF group, TDF without DTG, as well as patients switched to DTG-containing therapy from other drugs were included. Design The dynamics of serum creatinine, cystatin C (CysC) level, eGFRcr and eGFRCysC at the baseline, 4 w, 12w, 24w, 36w and 48w for different group of patients were collected and evaluated. Methods Changes in serum creatinine, levels, eGFRcr and eGFRCysC were analyzed among groups and in different time-points. Intra-group correlation coefficient and Bland–Altman plot were used to compare the results of eGFRcr and eGFRCysC. Results Thirty-seven treated-naïve HIV-patients in combined DTG and TDF group (group 1), 23 in DTG without TDF patients (group 2) and 47 patients on TDF without DTG group (control group, group 3) along with 31 patients whose ART switch to DTG-containing regimens (group 4) were collected. Serum creatinine was significantly elevated in the group 1 and group 2 instead of group 3 from baseline to 48w. Mean decreased change of eGFR calculated by serum creatinine proved the same conclusion. However, there were no differences in serum cystatin C and eGFRCysC between baseline and at 48 weeks in DTG-containing groups. Moreover, the proportion of eGFRcr decreased over 30% was significantly higher in DTG-treatment group. Conclusion We demonstrated the clinical benefits of CysC for assessing the glomerular filtration rate when evaluating renal function in HIV-1-infected patients treated with whether DTG combined with TDF or not.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT) has gained increasing acceptance as a sphincter-sparing procedure for treating complex anorectal fistulas (CAF), but no unequivocal conclusions can yet be drawn regarding its ultimate effectiveness. We reviewed the literature and performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of VAAFT in CAF patients. METHODS The study protocol was registered with the PROSPERO database (CRD42021279085). A systematic literature search was performed in the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases up to June 2021 with no restriction on language based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. We used the keywords video-assisted surgery, video-assisted anal fistula treatment, and complex anorectal fistula to identify relevant studies. RESULTS Fourteen trials (7 prospective and 7 retrospective) with a total of 1201 patients (mean age 43.5 years) were included. The median follow-up duration was 16.5(8-48) months. Pooled analysis showed that the rates of success, recurrence and postoperative complication across the studies were 83% (95% CI 81-85%, I2 = 37.9%), 16% (95% CI 14-18%, I2 = 4.8%), 11% (95% CI 7-15%, I2 = 72.1%), respectively. The postoperative Jorge-Wexner score used to assess the level of anal incontinence was 1.09 (95% CI, 0.9-1.27, I2 = 74.6%). The internal opening detection rate was 97.6% (95% CI 96.1-99.6%, I2 = 48.2%). Recurrence rates varied according to the closure method of internal opening from 21.4% after using staplers, 18.7% after suturing, to 23.5% after advancement flap. The hospital stay was 3.15 days (95% CI 2.96-3.35, I2 = 49.7%). Subgroup analysis indicated that the risk of heterogeneity in the urine retention group was higher compared with that of the overall group and that retrospective studies may be the source of heterogeneity for postoperative anal incontinence. r . Sensitivity analysis confirmed the stability of the pooled results. Begg's and Egger's tests showed no evidence of publication bias. CONCLUSIONS According to the available evidence, VAAFT may be a valuable alternative to fistulotomy or seton in treating CAF and has the additional long-term benefits of reducing anal incontinence and surgical morbidity, permitting earlier healing and accelerated rehabilitation.

Abstract
Prenatal DEHP exposure can cause offspring neurodevelopmental toxicity, but the persistent effects of such exposure window are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the lasting neurobehavioral impact of DEHP on offspring following early exposure from GD9.5 (fetal neural tube closure) to GD16.5 (fetal thyroxin, TH, synthesis). Data showed maternal exposure to DEHP during the thyroid hormone-dependent stage induced a range of neurobehavioral phenotypic changes in adult and middle-aged mice, including anxiety, depression and cognitive impairment. Significant reductions in free TH, TH transporters, and TH metabolic enzyme deiodinase II (D2) were observed in the fetal brain, whereas D3 was elevated, indicating that TH signaling disruption was caused by in utero exposure. Gene expression analyses suggested the expression levels of the TH receptors Trα1, Trβ1 and their downstream target, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, were significantly attenuated, which may partially explain the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental impairment. This study provides new evidence of the persistent effects of sex-specific neurodevelopmental impairment due to in utero DEHP exposure, possibly through damage to the fetal brain TH signaling systems that causes lifelong brain damage. These results further suggest a profound neurobehavioral toxicity of DEHP that may be programmed during early developmental stage exposure and manifested later in life.

Abstract
Purpose The incomplete immune reconstitution is a complex phenomenon among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients despite the fact that they have achieved persistent viral suppression under the combined antiretroviral therapy. This study aims to screen and verify the immunological characteristics and underlying mechanisms of immunological non-responders (INRs). Methods The RNA-seq and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) analysis were used to explore potential characteristics among INRs. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment, ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) analysis, Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) analysis, and the weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) were used to explore the potential mechanism. The transcriptional meta-analysis was used to analyze the external efficiency. Results The RNA-seq identified 316 DEGs among INRs. The interferon signaling pathway was enriched via GO and IPA analysis among DEGs. The combined GSEA and WGCNA analysis confirmed that the IFN response was more correlated with INR. Furthermore, IFI27 (IFN-α Inducible Protein 27, also known as ISG12) was chosen based on combined DEG analysis, WGCNA analysis, and the transcriptional meta-analysis conducted on other published datasets about INRs. The expression of IFI27 was significantly negatively correlated with the CD4+ T-cell counts of PLWH, and the predictive efficiency of IFI27 level in distinguishing PLWH with poor immune recovery was also with significant power (AUC = 0.848). Conclusion The enhanced expression of IFI27 and the IFN response pathway are among the important immunological characteristics of INRs and exhibited promising efficiency as biomarkers for CD4+ T-cell recovery.

Abstract
Protein disulfide isomerase A4 (PDIA4) is highly expressed in clear cell ovarian carcinoma and lung cancer. Through analysis of TCGA database and CGGA database, we noted that PDIA4 is a key promotor of glioblastoma (GBM). However, the detailed role and molecular mechanism of PDIA4 in GBM remain unclear. In this study, the expression pattern and biological role of PDIA4 in GBM was investigated. PDIA4 was overexpressed in GBM tumor samples and cell lines and positively correlated with pathological grades in glioma patients. In addition, downregulation of PDIA4 promoted apoptosis and inhibited proliferation of GBM. Meanwhile, there was a concurrent decrease in aerobic glycolysis metabolites. Mechanistically, PDIA4 downregulation promoted the apoptosis of GBM cells by increased the expression of apoptosis pathway proteins (caspase 3, caspase 9 and Bax). Downregulation of PDIA4 decreased energy demand and inhibited GBM growth in vitro and in vivo. Besides, such effect also inhibited the PI3K/AKT/m-TOR pathway by inhibiting protein phosphorylation levels of PI3K, AKT and m-TOR. After addition of PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway activator 740Y-P, the effect of PDIA4 knockdown on GBM was reversed. Therefore, we believe that PDIA4 regulates the proliferation via activating the PI3K/AKT/m-TOR pathway and suppression of apoptosis in glioblastoma. It could be used as a potential target for the treatment of GBM.

Abstract
Urban deciduous forests are an important ecological resource and seasonal landscape in the urban environment. However, in the abundant literature on how urban green space promotes human health and well-being, research on urban seasonal deciduous forests is limited. This study aimed to investigate the physiological and psychological recovery potential provided of urban deciduous forest space for youths and the spatial preferences of youths regarding such spaces. We recruited 120 participants to study the restorative potential of two typical urban deciduous forest landscape spaces (experimental groups) and one urban road environment (control group). The results showed that after 15 min of observation, the blood pressure (especially the diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.01)) and pulse of the deciduous forest trail setting (DFTS) group effectively decreased, and the restorative mood significantly increased. Regarding change in emotional parameters, the DFTS group scored higher on “interest” and significantly higher than the other two groups on positive emotion. The correlation results show that density and level are the key factors affecting spatial preferences regarding complex deciduous forests. An increase in density reduces the mood of re-laxation, and an increase in level decreases fatigue and interest. We suggest (1) constructing foot-paths in urban deciduous forests to reduce their spatial density as to improve the relaxation effect and (2) increasing landscape diversity according to the forest space to facilitate user participation and interest. This study provides a scientific basis for the environmental restoration of deciduous landscapes and for urban forestry management decision-makers based on space type construction.

Abstract
High concentrations of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in tobacco leaves are possible from the soil contamination and would have adverse health risks on residents. A large-scale survey of 306 tobacco fields in southern China was conducted to investigate the accumulation of PTEs in tobacco leaves through the soil-tobacco-human pathway and the associated health risks for local smokers and passive smokers. Significant enrichment of As, Cd, Hg, and Pb was observed in the investigated tobacco fields, with industrial emissions and applied fertilizers as the major potential sources. Dynamic interactions between factors in the soil acidic labile pool showed site-specific effects on the uptake of PTEs by tobacco plants. It was 99.6% and 91.8% probable that exposure of local adult men smokers to Cd and As exceeded the permitted safety limits, respectively. The population of men smokers had a 20-fold higher Cd exposure risk than did passive smokers. A probability-based transfer model was developed to demonstrate that interactions between soil factors could affect the Cd exposure risk of men smokers of locally harvested tobacco. Optimizing the pH (>6.0) and organic matter content (>40 g kg-1) of tobacco-growing soils, and setting a safe tobacco consumption rate of 2.80 g dry weight per day would help protect 90.4% of men smokers from excessive risks of exposure to Cd.

Abstract
A strictly anaerobic bacterial strain, designated Jerry-YXT, was isolated from petroleum-contaminated soil sampled in China. Strain Jerry-YXT was a Gram-stain-negative bacterium forming reddish colonies. It grew optimally at 30 °C and pH 7.0, and tolerated 1.0 % (w/v) NaCl. Strain Jerry-YXT was able to use fumarate, ferric citrate and ferrihydrite as electron acceptors, and ethanol, acetate and benzoate as electron donors. The major fatty acids of this strain were C16 : 0 and C16 : 1
ω7c/C16 : 1
ω6c (summed feature 3). The 16S rRNA gene sequence-based phylogenetic analysis placed this strain in the genus
Geobacter
, being most closely related to
Geobacter metallireducens
(98.2 % similarity),
Geobacter hydrogenophilus
(98.1 %) and
Geobacter grbiciae
(98.0 %). The DNA G+C content was 57.6 mol%. The average nucleotide identity and digital DNA–DNA hybridization values between the genomes of strain Jerry-YXT and
G. metallireducens
GS-15T were 81.8 and 35.4 %, respectively. The results of the polyphasic study allowed the genotypic and phenotypic differentiation of strain Jerry-YXT from its closest species, which suggested that strain Jerry-YXT represents a novel species of the genus
Geobacter
. The name for the proposed new species is Geobacter benzoatilyticus sp. nov. The type strain is Jerry-YXT (=MCCC 1K05659T=JCM 39190T).

Abstract
The present study evaluates the sustainability of tobacco-rice rotation by reducing the phytoavailability of cadmium (Cd) to rice by combining large-scale field sampling and regional investigations in southern China. The rotation involves frequent tillage and liberal application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, which increases yields but lowers soil pH. As a result, manganese is lost from soil and, at the same time, more soil Cd is taken up by rice and tobacco. The tendency to overcompensate for the Mn loss is influenced by soil properties, crop type, and economics of cultivation. Based on the scenario analysis, this tendency and the Cd uptake risks were estimated. Dietary intake of 83.3% of rice grain produced on the rotation fields would have adverse health effects on local male nonsmokers. Besides the rice, Cd in local tobacco leaf may lead to an increase in the kidney Cd levels of local male smokers (21.5 cigarettes per day) by 16.2-fold at age 50. Field trials and model estimations indicated that for a Cd concentration below 0.2 mg dry weight kg-1 in rice grain, the critical pH value in rice soils was ~ 6.0, and that for amorphous Mn oxide at pH 4.5-6.0 was 120 mg kg-1.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Indoor microbiome exposure is associated with asthma, rhinitis and eczema. However, no studies report the interactions between environmental characteristics, indoor microbiome and health effects in a repeated cross-sectional framework. METHODS 1,279 and 1,121 preschool children in an industrial city (Taiyuan) of China were assessed for asthma, rhinitis and eczema symptoms in 2012 and 2019 by self-administered questionnaires, respectively. Bacteria and fungi in classroom vacuum dust were characterized by culture-independent amplicon sequencing. Multi-level logistic/linear regression was performed in two cross-sectional and two combined models to assess the associations. RESULTS The number of observed species in bacterial and fungal communities in classrooms increased significantly from 2012 to 2019, and the compositions of the microbial communities were drastically changed (p < 0.001). The temporal microbiome variation was significantly larger than the spatial variation within the city (p < 0.001). Annual average outdoor SO2 concentration decreased by 60.7%, whereas NO2 and PM10 concentrations increased by 63.3% and 40.0% from 2012 to 2019, which were both associated with indoor microbiome variation (PERMANOVA p < 0.001). The prevalence of asthma (2.0% to 3.3%, p = 0.06) and rhinitis (28.0% to 25.3%, p = 0.13) were not significantly changed, but the prevalence of eczema was increased (3.6% to 7.0%; p < 0.001). Aspergillus subversicolor, Collinsella and Cutibacterium were positively associated with asthma, rhinitis and eczema, respectively (p < 0.01). Prevotella, Lactobacillus iners and Dolosigranulum were protectively (negatively) associated with rhinitis (p < 0.01), consistent with previous studies in the human respiratory tract. NO2 and PM10 concentrations were negatively associated with rhinitis in a bivariate model, but a multivariate mediation analysis revealed that Prevotella fully mediated the health effects. CONCLUSIONS This is the first study to report the interactions between environmental characteristics, indoor microbiome and health in a repeated cross-sectional framework. The mediating effects of indoor microorganisms suggest incorporating biological with chemical exposure for a comprehensive exposure assessment.

Abstract
Cluster of differentiation 38 (CD38) is a cell surface glycoprotein and multifunctional extracellular enzyme. As a NADase, CD38 produces adenosine through the adenosine energy pathway to cause immunosuppression. As a cell surface receptor, CD38 is necessary for immune cell activation and proliferation. The aggregation and polarization of macrophages are affected by the knockout of CD38. Intracellular NAD+ levels are reduced by nuclear receptor liver X receptor-alpha (LXR) agonists in a CD38-dependent manner, thereby reducing the infection of macrophages. Previous studies suggested that CD38 plays an important role in the regulation of macrophage function. Therefore, as a new marker of macrophages, the effect of CD38 on macrophage proliferation, polarization and function; its possible mechanism; the relationship between the expression level of CD38 on macrophage surfaces and disease diagnosis, treatment, etc; and the role of targeting CD38 in macrophage-related diseases are reviewed in this paper to provide a theoretical basis for a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between CD38 and macrophages.

Abstract
T cell death-associated gene 51 (TDAG51) has been implicated in the development of various pathological conditions. However, whether TDAG51 plays a role in diabetic renal disease remains unknown. The current work investigated the possible function of TDAG51 in diabetic renal disease using high-glucose (HG)-stimulated podocytes in vitro. The elevation of TDAG51 was observed in podocytes in response to HG exposure and the glomeruli of diabetic mice. The siRNAs targeting TDAG51 were applied to deplete TDAG51 in HG-stimulated podocytes. Crucially, TDAG51 deficiency was sufficient to decrease the apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation caused by HG. Mechanically, the inhibition of TDAG51 was capable of enhancing the activation of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) associated with the upregulation of AKT-glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) pathway. The reduction of AKT abolished the activation of Nrf2 elicited by TDAG51 deficiency. Additionally, the reduction of Nrf2 diminished the anti-HG injury effect elicited by TDAG51 deficiency. Overall, these data demonstrate that TDAG51 deficiency defends against HG-induced podocyte damage through Nrf2 activation by regulating AKT-GSK-3β pathway. This study suggests that TDAG1 may have a potential role in diabetic renal disease by affecting HG-induced podocyte damage.

Abstract
A reliable and accurate soil threshold helps prevent excessive dietary Pb intake risks to consumers of locally grown wheat and rice crops. Based on a three-year investigation of 206 wheat fields and 358 rice fields throughout China, this study aimed to improve the soil protection guidelines by investigating Pb accumulation in soil-wheat and soil-rice systems and by assessing Pb exposure risks through the soil-grain-human pathway. A site-specific bioconcentration factor (BCF, ratio of Pb concentration in plant to that in soil) was calculated and used to assess grain Pb intake risks instead of a generic BCF value to reduce data uncertainty. In addition to soil pH, cation-exchange capacity exerted a major influence on the Pb BCF variations in wheat, whereas the organic carbon dynamics affected the BCF variations in rice. Once normalized BCF against those soil variables, the distributions of BCF were log-normal in nature. Optimizing the pH and cation-exchange capacity of wheat soils would help protect 49.8% of local adults from excessive Pb dietary intake. The scenario soil thresholds linked to soil variables and grain Pb intake risks were then derived and validated by independent data from field surveys and published articles. Poor production practices in the wheat fields under study included using soils with low fertility.

Abstract
The influx of intensive longitudinal data creates a pressing need for complex modeling tools that help enrich our understanding of how individuals change over time. Multilevel vector autoregressive (mlVAR) models allow for simultaneous evaluations of reciprocal linkages between dynamic processes and individual differences, and have gained increased recognition in recent years. High-dimensional and other complex variations of mlVAR models, though often computationally intractable in the frequentist framework, can be readily handled using Markov chain Monte Carlo techniques in a Bayesian framework. However, researchers in social science fields may be unfamiliar with ways to capitalize on recent developments in Bayesian software programs. In this paper, we provide step-by-step illustrations and comparisons of options to fit Bayesian mlVAR models using Stan, JAGS and Mplus, supplemented with a Monte Carlo simulation study. An empirical example is used to demonstrate the utility of mlVAR models in studying intra- and inter-individual variations in affective dynamics.

Abstract
Loss of function of tuberous sclerosis complex 1 or 2 (TSC1 or TSC2) leads to the activation of mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). Hyperactivated mTORC1 plays a critical role in tumor growth, but the underlying mechanism is still not completely elucidated. Here, by analyzing Tsc1- or Tsc2-null mouse embryonic fibroblasts, rat Tsc2-null ELT3 cells, and human cancer cells, we present evidence for the involvement of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) as a downstream target of mTORC1 in tumor growth. We show that mTORC1 leads to increased EGFR expression through upregulation of runt-related transcriptional factor 1 (RUNX1). Knockdown of EGFR impairs proliferation and tumoral growth of Tsc-deficient cells, while overexpression of EGFR promotes the proliferation of the control cells. Moreover, the mTOR signaling pathway has been shown to be positively correlated with EGFR in human cancers. In addition, we demonstrated that EGFR enhances cell growth through activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). We conclude that activation of the RUNX1/EGFR/STAT3 signaling pathway contributes to tumorigenesis caused by hyperactivated mTORC1 and should be targeted for the treatment of mTORC1-related tumors, particularly TSC.

Abstract
Objective To review the research progress of internal tension relieving technique in assisting anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with tendon grafts. Methods The in vivo and in vitro biomechanical tests, animal experiments, and clinical studies on the use of internal tensioning relieving technique assisted ACL reconstruction in recent years were extensively reviewed, the impact of this technology on the biomechanics, histological changes of grafts, and the clinical effectiveness were analyzed and summarized. Results The internal tensioning relieving technique based on non-absorbable high-strength sutures can reduce the risk of relaxation and rupture by enhancing the biomechanical strength of tendon grafts in vitro and in vivo, it shows good biocompatibility and support for the ligamentation of the tendon grafts and the establishment of the direct tendon-bone interface in terms of histology. This technique improves postoperative initial joint stability, range of motion, and functional scores in clinical practic, when combining with the enhanced recovery after surgery can effectively promote patients to return to pre-injury exercise level without serious complications. Conclusion The preliminary research results have confirmed the efficacy and safety of the internal tension relieving technique on assisting ACL reconstruction, then showes some degree of significance and prospect, but more research is needed to further optimize tension-relieving devices and related surgical techniques, and clarify the specific effects of this technique on graft's structure remodeling, biomechanical function, and long-term clinical results.

Abstract
The self-assembly of [Co(MeTPyA)(CH3COO)]PF6 (1) and [Fe(bbp)(CN)3]2- affords a cyanido-bridged square-shaped {Fe2Co2} tetranuclear complex, [{Co(MeTPyA)(μ2-NC)2Fe(bbp)(CN)}2]·3H2O (2; MeTPyA = tris((3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methyl)amine and H2bbp = bis(2-benzimidazolyl)pyridine). The possibility of inducing an intramolecular electron transfer coupled spin transition in 2 by employing protonation as an external stimulant is explored. UV-visible spectrophotometric measurements, electrochemical and 1H NMR studies establish that a reversible intramolecular electron transfer coupled spin transition can be triggered in 2 upon addition of either acid or base.

Global Positioning System (GPS) data have become one of the routine data streams collected by wearable devices, cell phones, and social media platforms in this digital age. Such data provide research opportunities in that they may provide contextual information to elucidate where, when, and why individuals engage in and sustain particular behavioral patterns. However, raw GPS data consisting of densely sampled time series of latitude and longitude coordinate pairs do not readily convey meaningful information concerning intra-individual dynamics and inter-individual differences; substantial data processing is required. Raw GPS data need to be integrated into a Geographic Information System (GIS) and analyzed, from which the mobility and activity patterns of individuals can be derived, a process that is unfamiliar to many behavioral scientists. In this tutorial article, we introduced GPS2space, a free and open-source Python library that we developed to facilitate the processing of GPS data, integration with GIS to derive distances from landmarks of interest, as well as extraction of two spatial features: activity space of individuals and shared space between individuals, such as members of the same family. We demonstrated functions available in the library using data from the Colorado Online Twin Study to explore seasonal and age-related changes in individuals' activity space and twin siblings' shared space, as well as gender, zygosity and baseline age-related differences in their initial levels and/or changes over time. We concluded with discussions of other potential usages, caveats, and future developments of GPS2space.

Abstract
We describe herein the first examples of six-coordinate CoII single-ion magnets (SIMs) based on the β-diimine Mebik ligand [Mebik = bis(1-methylimidazol-2-yl)ketone]: two mononuclear [CoII(Rbik)2L2] complexes and one mixed-valence {CoIII2CoII}n chain of formulas [CoII(Mebik)(H2O)(dmso)(μ-NC)2CoIII2(μ-2,5-dpp)(CN)6]n·1.4nH2O (3) [L = NCS (1), NCSe (2) and 2,5-dpp = 2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (3)]. Two bidentate Mebik molecules plus two monodentate N-coordinated pseudohalide groups in cis positions build somewhat distorted octahedral surroundings around the high-spin cobalt(II) ions in 1 and 2. The diamagnetic [CoIII2(μ-2,5-dpp)(CN)8]2- metalloligand coordinates the paramagnetic [CoII(Mebik)(H2O)(dmso)]2+ complex cations in a bis-monodentate fashion to afford neutral zigzag heterobimetallic chains in 3. Ab initio calculations, and cryomagnetic dc (2.0-300 K) and ac (2.0-12 K) measurements as well as EPR spectroscopy for 1-3 show the existence of magnetically isolated high-spin cobalt(II) ions with D values of 59.84-89.90 (1), 66.32-93.90 (2) and 70.40-127.20 cm-1 (3) and field-induced slow relaxation of the magnetization, being thus new examples of SIMs with transversal magnetic anisotropy. The analysis of their relaxation dynamics reveals that the relaxation of the magnetization occurs by the Raman (with values of the n parameter covering the range 6.0-6.8) and direct spin-phonon processes.

Abstract
Sick building symptoms (SBS) are defined as non-specific symptoms related to indoor exposures, including mucosal symptoms in eye, nose, throat, and skin, and general symptoms as headache and tiredness. Indoor microbial composition is associated with SBS symptoms, but the impact of microbial functional genes and potential metabolic products has not been characterized. We conducted a shotgun microbial metagenomic sequencing for vacuum dust collected in urban and rural schools in Shanxi province, China. SBS symptoms in students were surveyed, and microbial taxa and functional pathways related to the symptoms were identified using a multi-level linear regression model. SBS symptoms were common in students, and the prevalence of ocular and throat symptoms, headache, and tiredness was higher in urban than in rural areas (p < 0.05). A significant higher microbial α-diversity was found in rural areas than in urban areas (Chao1, p = 0.001; ACE, p = 0.002). Also, significant variation in microbial taxonomic and functional composition (β-diversity) was observed between urban and rural areas (p < 0.005). Five potential risk Actinobacteria species were associated with SBS symptoms (p < 0.01); students in the classrooms with a higher abundance of an unclassified Geodermatophilaceae, Geodermatophilus, Fridmanniella luteola, Microlunatus phosphovorus and Mycetocola reported more nasal and throat symptoms and tiredness. Students with a higher abundance of an unclassified flavobacteriaceae reported fewer throat symptoms and tiredness. The abundance of microbial metabolic pathways related to the synthesis of B vitamins (biotin and folate), gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), and peptidoglycan and were protectively (negatively) associated with SBS symptoms (FDR < 0.05). The result is consistent with human microbiota studies, which reported that these microbial products are extensively involved in immunological processes and anti-inflammatory effects. This is the first study to report the functional potential of the indoor microbiome and the occurrence of SBS, providing new insights into the potential etiologic mechanisms in chronic inflammatory diseases.

Abstract
Sources of cadmium (Cd) contamination of farmlands and the potential risk to human health via dietary intake of wheat Cd are of great concern to consumers. A source-specific risk assessment (SSRA) model, which combined a positive matrix factorization receptor model and spatial analysis with a health risk assessment model, was developed based on a wheat field investigation in northern China. It was used to estimate the daily intake risk from different sources of ingesting Cd from wheat. The mixed source of wastewater and residues from industrial activities and atmospheric deposition were identified as the dominant sources of Cd contamination. Wheat Cd uptake could be predicted reliably from the pH and total Cd concentration of field soil. Based on the predictive model of Cd transfer from soil to wheat, the SSRA model then linked sources to the Cd intake risk from wheat grain. Results showed that the mixed source and the atmospheric deposition source accounted for 52.8% and 29.3%, respectively, of the wheat Cd intake risk. In combination with the spatial analysis, the potential risk of Cd contamination in western and central eastern areas was mainly attributed to the mixed source of wastewater and industrial residues, whereas the risk in the northwestern area was associated mainly with atmospheric deposition. Regionalized risk management strategies, focusing on different sources, were proposed to minimize the Cd input to field cropping system and to mitigate health risk for local residents.

Abstract
Our previous studies have shown that the HECT E3 ubiquitin ligase NEDD4 and kinase MEKK5 both play an essential role in lung cancer migration. A report predicts that MEKK5 may be ubiquitinated by NEDD4; however, interaction of MEKK5 with NEDD4 and ubiquitination of MEKK5 by NEDD4 have not been characterized. In this report, we show that NEDD4 interacts with MEKK5 through a conserved WW3 domain by the co-immunoprecipitation and the GST-pulldown assays. The ubiquitination assay indicates that MEKK5 is not a ubiquitination substrate of NEDD4, but negatively regulates NEDD4-mediated ubiquitination. Furthermore, overexpression of MEKK5 significantly reduced the NEDD4-promoted lung cancer cell migration. Taken together, our studies have defined an inhibitory role of MEKK5 in regulation of NEDD4-mediated ubiquitination.

Abstract
Multiple growth factors are required to regulate the wound repair process. Currently, there is still a lack of potent, durable, and inexpensive growth factor product in clinical practice. Meanwhile, platelet concentrate products provide an economical, convenient, and effective choice for the treatment of wounds in clinical practice. Starting from the first generation of platelet concentrate products, platelet-rich plasma, researchers have focused on optimizing the performance of platelet concentrate products for higher stability, more abundant bioactive factors, and more optimal clinical performance. Platelet-rich fibrin and concentrated growth factor emerged since then. Platelet concentrate products have the effect of promoting the speed of wound healing and enhancing the quality. This article aims to summarize the history and classification of platelet concentrate products, compare their properties and clinical applications, elaborate their mechanism of action, and analyze the problems existing in relevant researches while prospecting the future development of this field.

Abstract
To improve the utilization efficiency of corn stover , steam explosion pretreatment and cellulase/lactic acid bacteria-assisted ensilage storage were conducted in sequence, mainly focusing on morphological structure, lignocellulose fraction, cellulose accessibility and degradation profile. The results showed that there was a synergistic effect of steam explosion and ensilage storage, where hemicellulose of corn stover was partly degraded during steam explosion processing (70%) or ensilage storage (20-40%). Meanwhile, its morphological structure was apparently broken, increasing cellulose accessibility (2.44, 2.83, 4.08-4.33 mg/g), where enzyme YDL and inoculant QZB were the two most effective additives. Furthermore, rumen effective degradability of corn stover (39.25%, 48.33%, 52.57-54.07%) were increased along with greater rapid degradation fraction (0, 1.67%, 9.16-11.62%) and degradation rate of slow degradation fraction (0.020, 0.034, 0.039-0.048 h-1) . In conclusions, it is suggested that treating corn stover with steam explosion processing and ensilage storage is a feasible way to improve its utilization efficiency.

Abstract
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a severe mental disorder and is lacking in biomarkers for clinical diagnosis. Previous studies have demonstrated that functional abnormalities of the unifying triple networks are the underlying basis of the neuropathology of depression. However, whether the functional properties of the triple network are effective biomarkers for the diagnosis of depression remains unclear. In our study, we used independent component analysis to define the triple networks, and resting-state functional connectivities (RSFCs), effective connectivities (EC) measured with dynamic causal modeling (DCM), and dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) measured with the sliding window method were applied to map the functional interactions between subcomponents of triple networks. Two-sample t-tests with p < 0.05 with Bonferroni correction were used to identify the significant differences between healthy controls (HCs) and MDD. Compared with HCs, the MDD showed significantly increased intrinsic FC between the left central executive network (CEN) and salience network (SAL), increased EC from the right CEN to left CEN, decreased EC from the right CEN to the default mode network (DMN), and decreased dFC between the right CEN and SAL, DMN. Moreover, by fusion of the changed RSFC, EC, and dFC as features, support vector classification could effectively distinguish the MDD from HCs. Our results demonstrated that fusion of the multiple functional connectivities measures of the triple networks is an effective way to reveal functional disruptions for MDD, which may facilitate establishing the clinical diagnosis biomarkers for depression.

Abstract
A strictly anaerobic bacterium, strain PLL0T, was isolated from petroleum-contaminated soil sampled in Gansu Province, PR China. Cells were rods, non-motile and Gram-stain-positive. The strain grew at 25-37 °C (optimum, 30 °C) in the presence of 0-3 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2 %). Strain PLL0T was able to reduce ferrihydrite, Fe(III) citrate and thiosulphate. The 16S rRNA gene analysis revealed that this strain clustered with the genus Desulfitobacterium, and showed highest similarity to Desulfitobacterium aromaticivorans UKTLT (95.4 %) followed by Desulfitobacterium chlororespirans Co23T (93.9 %). However, strains PLL0T and UKTLT showed no more than 94.0 % similarity to other species of the genus Desulfitobacterium, and formed an independent group in the phylogenetic tree. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values between strain PLL0T and Desulfitobacterium species (except for D. aromaticivorans) were 67.4-68.5 % and 12.6-12.7 %, respectively, which are far below the threshold for delineation of a new species. Based on ANI, dDDH, average amino acid identity, phylogenetic analysis and physiologic differences from the previously described taxa, we suggest that strain PLL0T represents a novel species of a novel genus, for which the name Paradesulfitobacterium ferrireducens gen. nov. sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is PLL0T (=MCCC 1K05549=KCTC 25248). We also propose the reclassification of D. aromaticivorans as Paradesulfitobacterium aromaticivorans comb. nov.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a neurological disease caused by severe liver disease. Early identification of the risk factor is beneficial to the prevention and treatment of HE. Free bilirubin has always been considered to be the culprit of neonatal kernicterus, but there is no research to explore its role in HE. In this study, we aim to study the clinical significance of the indirect bilirubin-albumin ratio in HE. Methods: A retrospective case-control study of 204 patients with liver failure was conducted. Human serum albumin (HSA) or heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) inhibitor SnPP (Tin protoporphyrin IX dichloride) was injected intraperitoneally into Ugt1−/− mice to establish a treatment model for endogenous hyperbilirubinemia. Results: IBil/albumin ratio (OR = 1.626, 95% CI1.323–2.000, P < 0.001), white blood cell (WBC) (OR = 1.128, 95% CI 1.009–1.262, P = 0.035), ammonia (OR = 1.010, 95% CI 1.001–1.019, P = 0.027), platelet (OR=1.008, 95% CI 1.001–1.016, P = 0.022), Hb (OR = 0.977, 95% CI 0.961–0.994, P = 0.007), and PTA (OR = 0.960, 95% CI 0.933–0.987, P = 0.005) were independent factors of HE. Patients with a history of liver cirrhosis and severe HE (OR = 12.323, 95% CI 3.278–47.076, P < 0.001) were more likely to die during hospitalization. HSA or SnPP treatment improved cerebellum development and reduced apoptosis of cerebellum cells. Conclusion: The IBil/albumin ratio constitutes the most powerful risk factor in the occurrence of HE, and reducing free bilirubin may be a new strategy for HE treatment.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Although reminiscence therapy alleviates mental illness and improves quality of life in neurocognitive disorders patients, little study reports its clinical application in cancer patients. Thus, this study aimed to explore the effect of reminiscence therapy on anxiety, depression, quality of life, and survival profile in postoperative gastric cancer patients.One hundred sixty surgical gastric cancer patients were enrolled in this randomized, controlled study, then randomly assigned to Reminiscence therapy group (N = 80) and Control group (N = 80) as 1:1 ratio. The evaluation was carried at baseline (M0), month 3 (M3), month 6 (M6), month 9 (M9), and month 12 (M12) after intervention by Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life Questionnaire-Core 30 (QLQ-C30). Furthermore, disease-free survival and overall survival were analyzed using follow-up data.Reminiscence therapy decreased HADS for anxiety score at M6, M9, and M12, decreased anxiety rate at M9 and M12 compared to control care; while it did not affect HADS for depression score or depression rate at any time-point. Also, reminiscence therapy raised QLQ-C30 global health status score at M12, reduced QLQ-C30 symptoms score at M6, while did not affect QLQ-C30 function score at any time-point compared to control care. Reminiscence therapy did not affect disease-free survival and overall survival, either. Further subgroup analyses (divided by age and gender) observed that the effect of reminiscence therapy seemed more obvious in patients with age ≤60 years and male patients.Reminiscence therapy exhibits alleviation of anxiety and improvement of quality of life in postoperative gastric cancer patients.

Abstract
Background: Intracranial cerebral atherosclerosis (ICAS) is a leading etiology of ischemic stroke. The diagnosis and assessment of intracranial stenosis are shifting from anatomic to hemodynamic for better risk stratification. However, the relationships between lesion geometry and translesional pressure gradient have not been clearly elucidated. Methods: Patients with symptomatic unifocal M1 middle cerebral artery (M1-MCA) stenosis were consecutively recruited. The translesional pressure gradient was measured with a pressure wire and was recorded as both mean distal/proximal pressure ratios (Pd/Pa) and translesional pressure difference (Pa–Pd). Lesion geometry measured on angiography was recorded as diameter stenosis, minimal lumen diameter, and lesion length. The correlations between pressure-derived and angiography-derived indices were then analyzed. Results: Forty-three patients were analyzed. A negative correlation was found between Pd/Pa and diameter stenosis (r = −0.371; p = 0.014) and between Pa – Pd and minimal lumen diameter (r = −0.507; p = 0.001). A positive correlation was found between Pd/Pa and minimal lumen diameter (r = 0.411; p = 0.006) and between Pa – Pd and diameter stenosis (r = 0.466; p = 0.002). Conclusions: In a highly selected ICAS subgroup, geometric indices derived from angiography correlate significantly with translesional pressure gradient indices. However, the correlation strength is weak-to-moderate, which implies that anatomic assessment could only partly reflect hemodynamic status. Translesional pressure gradient measured by pressure wire may serve as a more predictive marker of ICAS severity. More factors need to be identified in further studies.

Abstract
Carbon-alumina composites are prepared for the efficient removal of Cr(VI) from wastewater. Pristine and acid-treated alumina dross (AD and AAD) are copyrolyzed with pine sawdust to form the respective composites, ADPC and AADPC. Excellent absorption properties with Cr(VI) removal efficiency of 95.08% are demonstrated at 60 °C for an initial concentration of 6 μg/mL. The composites combine the merits of char, which provides a high surface-to-volume ratio with abundant functional groups on the surface, and alumina, which provides metal ions for coprecipitation. Carbon structures of pine, char, and composite were analyzed semiquantitatively using 13C NMR by a curve-fitting method. Cr(VI) adsorption is accurately described with chemisorption by the Langmuir isotherm model and a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The results show that AADPC has more alcohol hydroxyl groups substituted to glucosyl units in amorphous cellulose assigned to the peak at 80 ppm and hemicellulose assigned to peaks at 97 and 101 ppm. Also, it has more phenolic groups in lignin distributed at syringyl units assigned to peaks at 129 and 146 ppm. These oxygen-containing functional groups have a significant influence on Cr(VI) adsorption and reduction to Cr(III) governed by the mechanisms of diffusion, adsorption, complexation, reduction, and coprecipitation. The results of this work provide a new direction for the reuse of biomass and industrial solid wastes to fabricate higher value-added products, i.e., adsorption materials for Cr(VI) removal and stabilization.

Abstract
Neuroinflammatory response is the immune response mechanism of the innate immune system of the central nervous system. Both primary and secondary injury can activate neuroinflammatory response. Among them, the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays a key role in the inflammatory response of the central system. Inflammasome is a type of pattern recognition receptor, a cytoplasmic polyprotein complex composed of members of the Nod-like receptor (NLR) family and members of the pyrin and HIN domain (PYHIN) family, which can be affected by a variety of pathogen-related molecular patterns or damage-related molecular patterns are activated. As one of the research hotspots in the field of medical research in recent years, there are increasing researches on immune function abnormalities in the onset of neurological diseases such as depression, AD, ischemic brain injury and cerebral infarction, the NLRP3 inflammasome causes the activated caspase-1 to cleave pre-interleukin-1β and pre-interleukin-18 into mature interleukin-1β and interleukin-18, in turn, a large number of inflammatory factors are produced, which participate in the occurrence and development of the above-mentioned diseases. Targeted inhibition of the activation of inflammasomes can reduce the inflammatory response, promote the survival of nerve cells, and achieve neuroprotective effects. This article reviews NLRP3 inflammasome's role in neurological diseases and related regulatory mechanisms, which providing references for future research in this field.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the genetic characteristics and transcriptional regulation of the SCN5A gene of Brugada syndrome (BrS) patients in China. Methods: Using PubMed, Medline, China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI), and Wanfang Database, Chinese patients with BrS who underwent SCN5A gene testing were studied. Results: A total of 27 suitable studies involving Chinese BrS patients who underwent the SCN5A gene test were included. A total of 55 SCN5A gene mutations/variations were reported in Chinese BrS patients, including 10 from southern China and 45 from northern China. Mutations/variations of BrS patients from southern China mostly occurred in the regions of the α-subunit of Nav1.5, including DIII (Domain III), DIV, DIII-DIV, C-terminus regions, and the 3'UTR region. Furthermore, we analyzed the post-transcriptional modifications (PTMs) throughout the Nav1.5 protein encoded by SCN5A and found that the PTM changes happened in 72.7% of BrS patients from southern China and 26.7% from northern China. Conclusions: SCN5A mutations/variations of BrS patients in southern China mostly occurred in the DIII-DIV to C-terminus region and the 3'-UTR region of the SCN5A gene, different from northern China. PTM changes were consistent with the mutation/variation distribution of SCN5A, which might be involved in the regulation of the pathogenesis of BrS patients.

Abstract
目的 探讨Ph阳性附加染色体异常(ACA/Ph+)对初诊慢性期(CP)和治疗中进展为加速期和急变期慢性髓性白血病(CML-AP/BP)患者生物学特征、疗效和预后的影响。 方法 回顾性分析2013年1月至2020年6月河南省人民医院收治的410例Ph+ CML[初诊CML-CP 348例,治疗中进展为AP/BP(进展期CML)62例]患者的临床资料,根据ELN2020标准将其分为高危、非高危和无ACA/Ph+三组,并比较分析高危/非高危ACA/Ph+对其生物学特征、疗效和预后的影响。 结果 ①348例初诊CML-CP患者,合并ACA/Ph+者20例(5.75%),其中高危ACA/Ph+组3例,非高危ACA/Ph+组17例;无ACA/Ph+组328例。伴ACA/Ph+和无ACA/Ph+组患者的基本临床特征差异无统计学意义(P值均>0.05);非高危ACA/Ph+组和无ACA/Ph+组间完全血液学缓解(CHR)率、完全细胞遗传学反应(CCyR)率、主要分子学反应(MMR)率和5年总生存(OS)率差异均无统计学意义(P值均>0.05);非高危ACA/Ph+组5年无进展生存(PFS)率显著低于无ACA/Ph+组(42.0%对74.5%,χ2=4.766,P=0.029)。②62例进展期CML患者,合并ACA/Ph+者41例(66.13%),其中高危ACA/Ph+组28例,非高危ACA/Ph+组13例;无ACA/Ph+组21例。高危ACA/Ph+组患者中位PLT水平(42.5×109/L)低于非高危(141×109/L)和无ACA/Ph+组(109×109/L)(χ2=4.968,P=0.083);三组间ABL激酶区点突变发生率差异无统计学意义(P=0.652)。高危ACA/Ph+组CCyR率显著低于无ACA/Ph+组(5.3%对46.7%,χ2=5.851,P=0.016)。高危ACA/Ph+组5年OS率为46.2%,非高危ACA/Ph+组为64.3%,无ACA/Ph+组为77.8%,其中高危ACA/Ph+组患者5年OS率明显低于无ACA/Ph+组(χ2=3.878,P=0.049)。亚组分析显示高危Ⅰ组(+8,+Ph或含+8/+Ph的复杂ACA)CML患者的5年OS率为54.5%,与无ACA/Ph+组相比差异无统计学意义(χ2=1.514,P=0.219);高危Ⅱ组[含−7/7q−或i(17q)或含2个及以上高危ACA的复杂核型]为28.6%,显著低于无ACA/Ph+组(χ2=8.035,P=0.005)。 结论 因ACA类型和疾病分期不同,伴ACA/Ph+ CML患者的治疗反应和预后存在差异,治疗过程中高危ACA的出现意味着更差的治疗反应和预后,严格、规范的细胞遗传学监测对此类患者的早期发现和精准诊疗具有重要意义。

Abstract
Accurately diagnosing and describing the severity of vitiligo is crucial for prognostication, treatment selection and comparison. Currently, disease severity scores require dermatologists to estimate percentage area of involvement, which is subjected to inter and intra-assessor variability. Previous studies focus on pure skin but vitiligo on the face, which has a more serious impact on patients' quality of life, was completely neglected. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have good performance on many segmentation tasks. However, due to data privacy, it is hard to have a large clinical vitiligo face image dataset to train a CNN. To address this challenge, images from two different sources, the Internet and the proposed vitiligo face synthesis algorithm, are employed in training. 843 vitiligo images taken from different viewpoints were collected from the Internet. These images are hugely different from the target clinical images collected according to a newly established international standard. To have more vitiligo face images similar to the target clinical images to enhance segmentation performance, an image synthesis algorithm is proposed. Both synthetic and Internet images are used to train a CNN which is modified from the fully convolutional network (FCN) to segment face vitiligo lesions. The results show that 1) the synthetic images effectively improve segmentation performance; 2) the proposed algorithm achieves 1.06 % error for the face vitiligo area estimation and 3) it is more accurate than two dermatologists and all the previous automated vitiligo segmentation methods, which were designed for segmentation vitiligo on pure skin.

Abstract
When rice soils are contaminated by cadmium (Cd), the sources and timing of such contaminations need to be identified. In this study, we aimed to quantify the sources, history, and fate of Cd in the rice soils of southern China, by combining a near 10-year regional investigation, by developing a normalized positive matrix factorization algorithm, a Cd mass balance model, and probabilistic simulation. We simulated the historical contamination process of Cd in rice soils from 1991 to 2019 and the future changes from 2019 to 2069 under varying input parameters, as affected by different environmental management measures. Over the period of 1991-2019, the input flux of Cd through atmospheric deposition was estimated at 421 g ha-1, which contributed 52.1% of the total increments in soil Cd concentration. Over the next decade, a 25.6% probability is predicted that the Cd concentration of local rice soils would increase from the baseline to the upper level of soil threshold, despite the efforts of environmental regulators. Removing the rice straw from production fields, cleaning up the irrigation channels, and strengthening environmental regulations would take approximately 50 years (2019-2069) to ensure that 90% of soils were safe for rice cultivation.

Abstract
Pathogens are commonly present in the human respiratory tract, but symptoms are varied among individuals. The interactions between pathogens, commensal microorganisms and host immune systems are important in shaping the susceptibility, development and severity of respiratory diseases. Compared to the extensive studies on the human microbiota, few studies reported the association between indoor microbiome exposure and respiratory infections. In this study, 308 students from 21 classrooms were randomly selected to survey the occurrence of respiratory infections in junior high schools of Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Vacuum dust was collected from the floor, chairs and desks of these classrooms, and high-throughput amplicon sequencing (16S rRNA and ITS) and quantitative PCR were conducted to characterize the absolute concentration of the indoor microorganisms. Fifteen bacterial genera in the classes Actinobacteria, Alphaproteobacteria, and Cyanobacteria were protectively associated with respiratory infections (p < 0.01), and these bacteria were mainly derived from the outdoor environment. Previous studies also reported that outdoor environmental bacteria were protectively associated with chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma, but the genera identified were different between acute and chronic respiratory diseases. Four fungal genera from Ascomycota, including Devriesia, Endocarpon, Sarcinomyces and an unclassified genus from Herpotrichillaceae, were protectively associated with respiratory infections (p < 0.01). House dust mite (HDM) allergens and outdoor NO2 concentration were associated with respiratory infections and infection-related microorganisms. A causal mediation analysis revealed that the health effects of HDM and NO2 were partially or fully mediated by the indoor microorganisms. This is the first study to explore the association between environmental characteristics, microbiome exposure and respiratory infections in a public indoor environment, expanding our understanding of the complex interactions among these factors.

Abstract
The rapid economic development has severely damaged the ecological environment and affected public health. Firms are the main source of pollution; thus, corporate environmental responsibility (CER) has attracted great attention from the government, shareholders and the public. This study used both the fixed effects model and the system GMM (Generalized Method of Moments) model to examine the relationship between environmental pollution, environmental regulations and CER for 30 provinces in China, over the period 2005 to 2015. This study drew the following results: first, mandatory CER disclosure policy can significantly decrease environmental pollution. Second, an inverted U-shaped relationship exists between environmental regulations and environmental pollution. Third, environmental pollution has a positive impact on CER. Fourth, an inverted U-shaped relationship exists between environmental regulations and CER. Therefore, it is necessary to find a balance between environmental regulations affecting environmental pollution and CER so that they can effectively reduce environmental pollution and increase the enthusiasm of firms to carry out environmental responsibility activities.

Abstract
Cyclins and related cyclin-dependent kinases play vital roles in regulating the progression in the cell cycle. Understanding the intrinsic mechanisms of cyclins promises knowledge about cell uncontrolled proliferation and prevention of cancer cells. Therefore, accurate recognition of cyclins is important for the investigation of tumor cells and biomedical engineering. This study proposes a novel sequence-based predictor named TYLER (predicT cYcLin-dEpendent pRoteins) for addressing the long challenge problem of predicting cyclin-dependent proteins (CDPs). We use information theory to compute selectively enriched CDP-related motifs and build the motif-based model. For those proteins without sharing enriched motifs, we compute sequence-derived features and construct machine learning-based models. We optimize the weights of two different models to build a more accurate predictor. We estimate these two types of models by using 5-fold cross-validations on the TRAINING dataset. We prove that the combination of two models and optimization of the corresponding weights promises decent and robust results on both TRAINING and independent TEST dataset. The empirical test demonstrates that TYLER is robust predictor and statistically significantly better than current methods. The runtime assessment reveals TYLER is a high-throughput effective method. We use TYLER to make predictions on the human proteome, and use the results to hypothesize CDPs. The latest experimental verified CDPs and GO analysis proves that some of our novel predictions shall be potential CDPs.
