Abstract
AIM To construct and validate a radiomics-based machine-learning method for preoperative prediction of distant metastasis (DM) from soft-tissue sarcoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy-seven soft-tissue sarcomas were divided into a training set (n=54) and a validation set (n=23). The performance of three feature selection methods (ReliefF, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator [LASSO], and regularised discriminative feature selection for unsupervised learning [UDFS]) and four classifiers, random forest (RF), logistic regression (LOG), K nearest neighbour (KNN), and support vector machines (SVMs), were compared for predicting the likelihood of DM. To counter the imbalance in the frequencies of DM, each machine-learning method was trained first without subsampling, then with the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE). The performance of the radiomics model was assessed using area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUC) and accuracy (ACC) values. RESULTS The performance of the LASSO and SVM algorithm combination used with SMOTE was superior to that of the algorithm combination alone. The combination of SMOTE with feature screening by LASSO and SVM classifiers had an AUC of 0.9020 and ACC of 91.30% in the validation dataset. CONCLUSION A machine-learning model based on radiomics was favourable for predicting the likelihood of DM from soft-tissue sarcoma. This will help decide treatment strategies.

Abstract
A search for the decay K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb^{-1} and collected with the LHCb experiment during 2016, 2017, and 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The observed signal yield is consistent with zero, yielding an upper limit of B(K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<2.2×10^{-10} at 90% C.L.. The limit reduces to B(K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<2.1×10^{-10} at 90% C.L. once combined with the result from data taken in 2011 and 2012.

Abstract
A study of prompt charm-hadron pair production in proton-lead collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV is performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 30 nb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb experiment. Production cross sections for different pairs of charm hadrons are measured and kinematic correlations between the two charm hadrons are investigated. This is the first measurement of associated production of two charm hadrons in proton-lead collisions. The results confirm the predicted enhancement of double parton scattering production in proton-lead collisions compared to the single parton scattering production.

Abstract
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common head and neck cancer characterized by aggressive local invasion and metastasis. The pathogenesis of OSCC is mainly due to the accumulation of genetic alterations in epithelial cells, but the underlying mechanism for its development remains unclear. Here, we found that the expression level of regulator of G protein signaling 12 (RGS12) was significantly reduced in human OSCC. To understand the role and mechanism of RGS12 in OSCC, we generated a novel RGS12 global knockout (CMVCre/+; RGS12fl/fl) mouse model by crossing RGS12fl/fl mice with CMV-Cre transgenic mice and then further induced the mice to develop OSCC by using 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide (4NQO). Deletion of RGS12 exhibited aggressive OSCC in the tongue compared with the control RGS12fl/fl mice. Knockdown of RGS12 in OSCC cells significantly increased cell proliferation and migration. Mechanistically, we found that RGS12 associated with phosphatase and tension homolog (PTEN) via the PDZ domain to upregulate the phosphorylation and SUMOylation of PTEN and then correspondingly inactivated the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. To test the potential therapeutic effect of RGS12 on OSCC, we overexpressed RGS12 in OSCC cells and found a significant inhibition of cancer cell proliferation and migration. Moreover, subcutaneous inoculation of RGS12-overexpressed OSCC cells in NOD scid mice showed a significant reduction in tumor formation. Our findings reveal that RGS12 is an essential tumor suppressor and highlights RGS12 as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker of OSCC.

Background
Monogenic forms of hypertension are regarded as a group of conditions characterized by early-onset and resistant hypertension, electrolyte imbalance. These alterations stem from single mutations that lead to maladaptive excretion of potassium, and consequent hypokalemia.
Purpose
This study aimed to analyze genes involved in monogenic forms of hypertension and clinical features in Chinese patients with early-onset hypertension and hypokalemia.
Methods
A total of 129 unrelated Chinese patients (89 male and 40 females; average onset age of hypertension 25±5 years) with early-onset hypertension and hypokalemia. Patients with hypertension secondary to common causes, including renal disease and renovascular disease, aortic diseases, and obstructive sleep apnea were excluded. Genomic DNA were extracted from peripheral blood leucocytes of each subject. Using next-generation sequencing, we targeted and sequenced 42 genes related to monogenic forms of hypertension. All rare variants were confirmed by Sanger sequencing.
Results
We detected 63 rare variants in 23 genes in 52 patients (40.3%). The variants in genes associated with pseudohypoaldosteronism, familial aldosteronism, pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma, and pseudohyperaldosteronism accounted for 22.2%, 23.8%, 20.6% and 11.1% respectively. Patients with rare variants had a significantly lower serum potassium (2.94±0.21 vs. 3.30±0.24 mmol/L, P<0.001) and family history of hypertension (67.3% vs. 31.2%, P<0.001). During 24±7.9 months of follow-up, several complication occurred, including stroke in 22 patients, coronary heart disease in 10, and chronic renal failure in 10. Factors associated with stroke were carrying rare variants (HR=4.371, 95% CI: 1.709–11.181, P=0.002), systolic blood pressure (HR=1.015, 95% CI: 1.004–1.037, P=0.015).
Conclusions
This study revealed a wide genetic spectrum in Chinese patients with early-onset hypertension and hypokalemia. Genetic testing helps to differentiate the diagnosis of monogenic forms of hypertension in patients with hypertension and hypokalemia, and evaluates prognosis. Those patients carrying rare variants presented with a high risk of severe complications, stroke and needed close follow-up.

Abstract
Malus hupehensis is an extensively used apple rootstock in China. In the current study, M. hupehensis seedlings were treated with exogenous 2.2 µm 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) so as to investigate the mechanism by which 6-BA affects lateral root development. The results indicate that 6-BA treatment promotes elongation and thickening of both root and shoot in M. hupehensis, but reduces the number of lateral roots, as well as reducing the auxin level after 6-BA treatment. Moreover, MhAHK4, MhRR1 and MhRR2 were also significantly up-regulated in response to 6-BA treatment. Expression levels of auxin synthesis- and transport-related genes, such as MhYUCCA6, MhYUCCA10, MhPIN1 and MhPIN2, were down-regulated, which corresponds with lower auxin levels in the 6-BA-treated seedlings. A negative regulator of auxin, MhIAA3, was induced by 6-BA treatment, leading to reduced expression of MhARF7 and MhARF19 in 6-BA-treated seedlings. As a result, expression of MhWOX11, MhWOX5, MhLBD16 and MhLBD29 was blocked, which in turn inhibited lateral root initiation. In addition, a lower auxin level decreased expression of MhRR7 and MhRR15, which repressed expression of key transcription factors associated with root development, thus inhibiting lateral root development. In contrast, 6-BA treatment promoted secondary growth (thickening) of the root by inducing expression of MhCYCD3;1 and MhCYCD3;2. Collectively, the changes in hormone levels and gene expression resulted in a reduced number of lateral roots and thicker roots in 6-BA-treated plants.

Background
The relation between complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), high bleeding risk (HBR), and adverse events after coronary artery implantation of drug-eluting stents has been incompletely characterized. This study sought to investigate the ischemic and bleeding events after complex PCI including a stratification according to HBR estimated by PARIS bleeding risk score.
Methods
Between January 2013 and December 2013, 10,167 consecutive patients undergoing PCI were prospectively enrolled in Fuwai PCI Registry. Complex PCI was defined when having at least one of the following characteristics: 3 vessels treated, ≥3 stents implanted, ≥3 lesions treated, bifurcation with 2 stents implanted, total stent length >60 mm, treatment of chronic total occlusion, unprotected left main PCI, in-stent restenosis target lesion, and severely calcified lesion. The primary ischemic endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) [composite of cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and definite/probable stent thrombosis], and primary bleeding endpoint was Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) type 2, 3, or 5 bleeding.
Results
The median duration of follow-up was 29 months. In adjusted Cox regression analysis, patients having complex PCI procedures experienced higher risks of MACE (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.63, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.38–1.92; P<0.001), compared with non-complex PCI. In contrast, the risk of clinically relevant bleeding was statistically similar between the 2 groups (HR: 0.86 [0.66–1.11]; P=0.238). There was no statistical interaction between HBR (PARIS bleeding score ≥8 or <8) and complex PCI in regard to MACE (adjusted Pinteraction=0.388) and clinically relevant bleeding (adjusted Pinteraction=0.279).
Conclusions
Patients who had undergone complex PCI resulted in substantially more ischemic events, without an increase in clinically relevant bleeding risk; and these associations did not seem to be modified by HBR status. More intensified antiplatelet therapy may be beneficial for patients with complex percutaneous coronary revascularization procedures.

Background
Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common tachyarrhythmia, is a progressive disease characterized by electrophathology, which is defined as the structural remodeling of atrial cardiomyocytes that underlies electrophysiological remodeling and contractile dysfunction and consequently AF progression. We recently discovered that disruption of microtubule network, by HDAC6 activation, is a key factor underlying structural remodeling and AF promotion in experimental models for AF and patients with AF. However, the molecular mechanism how microtubule disruption induces contractile dysfunction in AF is unclear. Sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and mitochondria are the central organelles for normal cardiomyocyte contraction by controlling the Ca2+ and energy (ATP) homeostasis. The crosstalk between SR and mitochondria via contacts, termed SR-mitochondria contacts (SMCs), is essential for normal mitochondrial and cardiac function. Interestingly, functional SMCs are highly dependent on intact microtubule network. This study aims to whether preservation of microtubule protects against AF via SMC pathway.
Methods and results
Tachypacing of HL-1 cardiomyocytes significantly impaired calcium transient (CaT) amplitude compared to normal paced cardiomyocytes. Pretreatment with microtubule stalilizer taxol and acetyl-CoA inducer β-hydroxybutyrate (βOHB) significantly protected against tachypacing-induced CaT loss. Moreover, by using immunoflurecent staining, mitochondrial associated membrane isolation and seahorse, we showed that tubacin, Taxol and βOHB also significantly inhibited the SMC reduction, attenuated tachypacing-induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Consistently, these microtubule stabilizer drugs also prevented tachypacing-induced contractile dysfunction in the Drosophila model for AF.
Conclusions
Preservation of microtubule network prevented the reduction of SMCs and the consequent mitochondrial and contractile dysfunction in HL-1 cardiomyocytes and Drosophila models for AF. Therefore, the microtubule-SMC pathway is a novel central therapeutic target for AF.

Background
Apparent mineralocorticoid excess (AME) is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 gene (HSD11B2). AME is characterized by early-onset and severe hypertension, hypokalemia, and metabolic alkalosis.
Purpose
This study aimed to study the molecular genetics, clinical presentation, biochemical parameters, and treatment in the proband with AME from a non-consanguineous Chinese family.
Methods
Genomic DNA was recovered from peripheral blood leukocytes from nine subjects in this family. Next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing were performed to identify the HSD11B2 variants. In silico and genotype-phenotype correlations analyses were used to predict pathogenicity of candidate variants. A tailored therapy was performed for identified mutations carriers.
Results
Genetic analysis identified novel compound heterozygous HSD11B2 mutations (c.343-348del/c.1099-1101del) in the proband. In silico analysis predicted these HSD11B2 mutations were deleterious. The structural change and predicted consequences owing to the compound mutations have been modeled. The same compound mutations were not found in any other family members, 100 hypertensives, or 100 healthy controls. The proband had typical manifestations of AME, including early-onset and severe hypertension, hypokalemia, low plasma aldosterone concentration, hypokalemic alkalosis and nephrolithiasis. The probands' blood pressure and serum potassium level had returned to normal after treatmennt with dexamethasone (1.5 mg/day) and spirolactone (40 mg/day) for three months.
Conclusions
We conclude that this novel compound mutations are responsible for AME in the proband. These genetic and clinical data expand the genetic spectrum of HSD11B2 and demonstrate the pathogenic effects of identified mutations and genotype-phenotype correlations. It is emphasized that genetic diagnosis and specific treatment play an important role in patients with AME.

Introduction/Objective
Massive transfusion protocols (MTPs) make it possible to deliver blood products to exsanguinating patients in an efficient, sustained, and immediate manner. However, overutilization of MTPs continues to remain a significant problem for hospital blood banks. The study aims to address the characteristics of possibly inappropriate MTP activations during the first phase (cooler) at a level 1 trauma academic medical center.
Methods
This was a retrospective review of 328 phase 1 MTPs out of 696 total MTPs performed during a two-year period (Jan 1, 2017 and Dec 31, 2018) and divided into three categories: trauma, non-trauma surgery, and medicine services. We assumed that a possibly inappropriate MTP for trauma cases would show an Assessment of Blood Component (ABC) score of 1 or less and physicians used clinical discretion. For possibly inappropriate MTP non- trauma surgical and medicine cases, we devised a new system where we looked at only whether the blood pressure was equal to or less than 90 mm Hg and/or the pulse was greater than or equal to 120 beats per minute. If there was a score of 0 where there were neither vital sign criteria, then the MTP was considered possibly inappropriate.
Results
For trauma service, there were 43/168 (25.6%) cases that had an ABC score of 0, 49/168 (29.2%) cases that had an ABC score of 1, 53/168 (31.5%) cases that had an ABC score of 2, 21/168 (12.5%) cases that had an ABC score of 3, and only 2/168 (1.2%) case that had an ABC score of 4. Non-trauma surgery service had 31/51 (60.8%) cases with a new score of 0, 20/51 (39.2%) cases with a new score of 1, and 0/51 (0%) cases with a new score of 2. Medicine services had 57/109 (52.3%) patients with a new score of 0, 47/109 (43.1%) patients with a new score of 1, and 5/109 (4.6%) patients with a new score of 2. Non-trauma surgery service had the greatest possibly inappropriate MTP activations [31/51 cases (60.8%)], followed by trauma [92/168 (54.8%) cases] and medicine [57/109 (52.3%) cases].
Conclusion
Our study shows greater overutilization with MTPs using clinical judgment than with using the ABC criteria. Non-trauma surgery service had the greatest number of possibly inappropriate MTP activations at our hospital without having a significantly abnormal pulse or blood pressure. While ABC criteria is already liberal for activating an MTP, physician discretion appears to be more liberal in activating a possibly inappropriate MTP.

Abstract
Objective: Using clotrimazole vaginal tablet as a positive control, to evaluate the results of clotrimazole vaginal expansion suppository in the treatment of mild and moderate vulvovaginal candidiasis in terms of efficacy, patient satisfaction, side effects, and recurrence rate. Methods: This study was jointly conducted by 5 hospitals from August 2017 to October 2018, patients with mild and moderate vulvovaginal candidiasis confirmed by fungal culture and symptoms scores were selected. They were randomized to experimental group and control group as 1∶1 ratio. In the experimental group (n=105), the subjects applied clotrimazole vaginal expansion suppository (150 mg) daily at night for 7 days. In the control group (n=106), the subjects used a single dose of clotrimazole vaginal tablet (500 mg). Follow-ups were performed at (8±3) and (30±5) days after the discontinuation of the drugs, respectively. The difference in clinical symptoms and signs scores was used to evaluate the improvement of clinical symptoms, and the patient's satisfaction and side effects were recorded. Results: At the first follow-up, the experimental group and control group were followed up by fungal culture on the cure rate [66.7% (70/105) versus 63.2% (67/106), P>0.05] and total effective rate [98.1% (103/105) versus 99.1% (105/106), P>0.05], the differences were not statistically significant. At the second follow-up, the recurrence rates of the experimental group and the control group were 5.7% (4/70) and 14.9% (10/67), respectively, with no significant difference (P>0.05). In the evaluation of patient satisfaction, the leakage of the drug in the experimental group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.01). The side effects mainly included vaginal stimulation, itching and burning sensation, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups (χ2=1.070, P=0.586). Conclusions: In the treatment of mild and moderate vulvovaginal candidiasis, clotrimazole vaginal expansion suppository is no less effective than clotrimazole vaginal tablet, and there is no significant difference in the recurrence rate between the two. In terms of patient satisfaction, clotrimazole vaginal expansion suppository is superior to clotrimazole vaginal tablet.

Abstract
Tibial dyschondroplasia (TD) is an intractable avian cartilage disease in which proximal growth plates of tibia lack blood vessels and contain nonviable cells, and it leads to the inflammatory response. Prostaglandins (PGs) genes have not been studied yet in TD chicken, and they might play role in skeletal metabolism, therefore we planned to explore the role of recombinant glutathione-S-transferase A3 (rGSTA3) protein and PG-related genes. In this study, qRT-PCR, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis were used to identify the expression patterns of eight PG-related genes in the tibial growth plate of broiler chicken. The results showed that the expression of PG-related genes glutathione-S-transferase A3 (GSTA3), cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2), prostaglandin D2 synthase (PTGDS), prostaglandin E synthase (PTGES), prostaglandin E2 receptor (PTGER) 3, PTGER4, prostaglandin reductase 1 (PTGR1) and hematopoietic prostaglandin D synthases (HPGDS) expression were identified and could significantly respond to thiram-induced TD chicken. Interestingly, the expression of rate-limiting enzyme COX-2 and PGE2 were induced after the treatment of rGSTA3 protein. These findings demonstrated that the occurrence of TD is closely related to the inhibition of PGs. Moreover, rGSTA3 protein participated in the recovery of TD by strengthening the expression of PG-related genes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE GSK-3β negatively regulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. The abnormal miR-155 expression is associated with bladder cancer. Bioinformatics analysis revealed a complementary binding site between miR-155 and GSK-3β mRNA. This study investigated the role of miR-155 in the proliferation and apoptosis of bladder cancer cells. PATIENTS AND METHODS The dual luciferase reporter gene assay validated the targeted regulation between miR-155 and GSK-3β. Tumor tissues and adjacent tissues were collected from bladder cancer patients and the expression of miR-155 and GSK-3β mRNA was detected by RT-PCR. Bladder cancer cell line BIU-87 cells were cultured in vitro and divided into miR-NC group and miR-155 inhibitor group. The expressions of miR-155, GSK-3β and β-catenin were compared, cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry, and cell proliferation was detected by EdU staining. RESULTS Compared with adjacent tissues, miR-155 expression was significantly increased in bladder cancer tissues, and GSK-3β mRNA expression was significantly decreased. There was a targeted regulatory relationship between miR-155 and GSK-3β. Compared with SV-HUC-1 cells, miR-155 expression in bladder cancer BIU-87 and 5637 cells was significantly increased, and GSK-3β expression was significantly decreased. Transfection of miR-155 inhibitor significantly increased GSK-3β expression in BIU-87 and 5637 cells, decreased β-catenin expression, increased cell apoptosis, and decreased cell proliferation. CONCLUSIONS The increased expression of miR-155 plays a role in reducing the expression of GSK-3β and in promoting the pathogenesis of bladder cancer. Inhibition of miR-155 can up-regulate the expression of GSK-3β, inhibit the activity of Wnt/β-catenin pathway, attenuate proliferation and promote apoptosis of bladder cancer cells.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to explore the effect of micro ribonucleic acid (miR)-126 on the apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells in glaucoma rats via the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-Notch signaling pathway. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 36 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into three groups, including normal group (n=12), model group (n=12) and miR-126 antagomir group (n=12). Rats in normal group did not receive any treatment. In model group and miR-126 antagomir group, the rats were used to establish glaucoma models and intervened with normal saline and miR-126 antagomir, respectively. Intraocular pressure was detected at the completion of modeling and the last intervention, at 7 days after which samples were taken. Western blotting was adopted to detect the relative protein expressions of Notch1 and Notch2. The content of VEGF was examined via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was carried out to detect the messenger RNA (mRNA) expressions of VEGF, Notch1 and Notch2. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay was performed to detect cell apoptosis. RESULTS After modeling, intraocular pressure in model group and miR-126 antagomir group was significantly higher than that in normal group (p<0.05). At the end of the intervention, intraocular pressure in miR-126 antagomir group was notably lower than that in model group (p<0.05). VEGF content in model group and miR-126 antagomir group was notably higher than that in normal group (p<0.05). However, it was markedly lower in miR-126 antagomir group than model group (p<0.05). Model group exhibited remarkably higher protein expressions of Notch1 and Notch2 than normal group (p<0.05). However, the protein expressions of Notch1 and Notch2 in miR-126 antagomir group were evidently reduced (p<0.05). Besides, the mRNA expressions of VEGF, Notch1 and Notch2 in model group were significantly higher than those in normal group (p<0.05). However, they were significantly lower in miR-126 antagomir group than those in model group (p<0.05). Furthermore, the apoptosis rate in model group was distinctly higher than that in normal group (p<0.05). However, it was notably lower in miR-126 antagomir group than model group (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS MiR-126 facilitates the apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells in glaucoma rats by promoting the VEGF-Notch signaling pathway.

Abstract
Objective: To establish and to evaluate a computer-aided system based on deep-learning for detection and diagnosis of dental approximal caries on periapical radiographs. Methods: One hundred and sixty human premolars and molars extracted for orthodontic or periodontal reasons were obtained from Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Affiliated Stomatological Hospital, Fujian Medical University. A total of 160 periapical radiographic images were divided into a training dataset (n=80) and a test dataset (n=80). A deep-learning based computer-aided caries diagnosis system was established and trained. The performances of computer-aided diagnosis system and human observer were compared using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, precision-recall (P-R) curves, the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV). The AUC values of human observers and caries diagnosis system was compared by using an online statistical tool (SPSSAU 20.0). Chi-square test was used to analyze the differences between human observers and caries diagnosis system (ɑ=0.05). Results: The AUC values of human observers and caries diagnosis system were 0.729 (95%CI: 0.650-0.808) and 0.762 (95%CI: 0.685-0.839), respectively (P>0.05). No significant differences were found for the specificity, PPV and NPV between the caries diagnosis system and human observers (P all>0.05). The caries diagnosis system was significantly more sensitive in detecting dental proximal caries than human observers (P<0.05). For the diagnosis of level-1 caries (caries limited to outer 1/2 of enamel), the sensitivity of human observers and computer-aided detection system were 27% and 77%, respectively (P<0.05). Conclusions: The computer-aided diagnosis system provided similar accuracy as human observers and significantly better sensitivity than human observers, especially for shallow caries in enamel.

Abstract
Subclinical necrotic enteritis (NE) was induced in broiler chicks using a high dose of Eimeria spp. vaccine in the drinking water on day 9, and Clostridium perfringens (Cp) culture mixed in the feed on days 14 and 15. The aim was to evaluate the effects of probiotic Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain H57 (H57) in preventing NE in chicks. Day-old Ross 308, male broilers were weighed and randomly assigned to 6 treatment groups (6 replicate cages/treatment and 8 birds/cage). Birds in group 1 (control) were fed the basal wheat-soybean diet without H57 or NE infection; in group 2 (Eimeria) were treated with Eimeria alone; in group 3 (Cp) were treated with Cp alone; in group 4 (NE) received both Eimeria and Cp; in group 5 (NE-H57) received NE infection and H57; and group 6 (H57) received H57. The basal diet of chicks in groups 5 and 6 was supplemented with H57 at a density of 2 × 108 spores/g feed from 1 D of age. On day 21, there were no significant treatment effects on BW and feed intake between control and H57 birds. However, on day 21, the feed conversion ratio of NE-H57 birds was significantly improved when compared with NE birds (1.28 vs. 1.36; P < 0.001). Birds challenged with NE had a higher occurrence of pasty vent than birds infected with either Eimeria, Cp, or NE-H57 (41 vs. 27 vs. 29 vs. 19%, respectively; P < 0.001). Intestinal lesion scores of NE birds were also higher than those of Eimeria, Cp, and NE-H57 birds (5.67 vs. 2.56 vs. 2.78 vs. 2.10, respectively; P < 0.001) and correlated with pasty vent (Pearson's r = 0.56; P < 0.001). Microscopic evaluation showed mucosal damage and necrosis in NE birds. In contrast, villi from NE-H57 birds were normal, with no damage or infiltration with Eimeria or Cp. H57 appears to be effective in challenged birds, as it maintained epithelial barrier integrity and improved feed efficiency.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The aim was to describe the profiles of hemorrhagic patterns of moyamoya disease (MMD) and analyze the risk factors in a large population. METHODS A total of 335 conservatively managed MMD patients with hemorrhage in our hospital were included in this cross-sectional study. The correlation between clinical and angiographic characteristics and hemorrhagic patterns (anterior or posterior hemorrhage) was assessed in the hemorrhagic hemisphere by univariate and multivariate logistic regression models. In addition, stratified analysis was performed. RESULTS The 335 hemorrhagic hemispheres (patients) comprised 179 (53.4%) anterior and 156 (46.6%) posterior hemorrhages. For all cases, age at onset [odds ratio (OR) 0.98; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.96-1.00; P = 0.048] and choroidal anastomosis (OR 1.87; 95% CI 1.19-2.94; P = 0.007) were found by multivariate regression analysis to be negatively and positively associated with a significantly increased risk of posterior hemorrhage, respectively. After stratified analysis, hypertension (OR 0.37; 95% CI 0.14-0.97; P = 0.043) was identified by multivariate regression analysis as a risk factor for anterior hemorrhage in patients without dilation of choroidal anastomosis. On the other hand, choroidal anastomosis (OR 2.62; 95% CI 1.02-6.72; P = 0.045) and involvement of the posterior cerebral artery (OR 3.39; 95% CI 1.20-9.63; P = 0.022) were associated with significantly increased risk of posterior hemorrhage in children and young adults (<30 years of age). CONCLUSIONS A dynamic change in hemorrhagic patterns in MMD patients with increasing age at onset was observed. Choroidal anastomosis is a predictor of posterior hemorrhage. Hypertension is a risk factor for anterior hemorrhage in patients without extreme dilation of choroidal anastomosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lungs from patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have shown typical signs of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), formation of hyaline membrane mainly composed of fibrin and 'ground-glass' opacity. Previously, we showed plasminogen itself is a key regulator in fibrin degradation, wound healing and infection. AIM We aimed to investigate whether plasminogen can improve lung lesions and hypoxemia of COVID-19. DESIGN Thirteen clinically moderate, severe or critical COVID-19 patients were treated with atomization inhalation of freeze-dried plasminogen. METHODS Levels of their lung lesions, oxygen saturation and heart rates were compared before and after treatment by computed tomography scanning images and patient monitor. RESULTS After plasminogen inhalation, conditions of lung lesions in five clinically moderate patients have quickly improved, shown as the decreased range and density of 'ground glass' opacity. Improvements of oxygen saturation were observed in six clinically severe patients. In the two patients with critical conditions, the oxygen levels have significantly increased from 79-82% to 91% just about 1 h after the first inhalation. In 8 of 13 patients, the heart rates had slowed down. For the five clinically moderate patients, the difference is even statistically significant. Furthermore, a general relief of chest tightness was observed. CONCLUSION Whereas it is reported that plasminogen is dramatically increased in adults with ARDS, this study suggests that additional plasminogen may be effective and efficient in treating lung lesions and hypoxemia during COVID-19 infections. Although further studies are needed, this study highlights a possible hope of efficiently combating this rapid epidemic emergency.

Abstract
AIM The present study examined the associations between night-time sleep duration, midday napping duration and bedtime, and fasting glucose levels, and whether or not such associations are dependent on gender and age. METHODS This study was a cross-sectional analysis of 172,901 adults aged≥40 years living in mainland China. Sleep duration was obtained by self-reports of bedtime at night, waking-up time the next morning and average napping duration at midday. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG)≥7.0mmol/L was defined as hyperglycaemia. Independent associations between night-time sleep duration, midday naptime duration and bedtime with hyperglycaemia were evaluated using regression models. RESULTS Compared with night-time sleep durations of 6-7.9h, both short (<6h) and long (≥8h) night-time sleep durations were significantly associated with an increased risk of hyperglycaemia in women [odds ratio (OR): 1.12, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.01-1.29 and OR: 1.14, 95% CI: 1.08-1.21, respectively], and revealed a U-shaped distribution of risk in women and no significant association in men. Long midday nap durations (≥1h) were significantly but weakly associated with hyperglycaemia (OR: 1.04, 95% CI: 1.01-1.09) compared with no napping without interactions from gender or age, whereas the association between bedtime and fasting glucose levels did vary according to gender and age. CONCLUSION Night-time sleep duration, midday napping duration and bedtime were all independently associated with the risk of hyperglycaemia, and some of the associations between these sleep characteristics and hyperglycaemia were gender- and age-dependent.

Abstract
An angular analysis of the B^{0}→K^{*0}(→K^{+}π^{-})μ^{+}μ^{-} decay is presented using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb^{-1} of pp collision data collected with the LHCb experiment. The full set of CP-averaged observables are determined in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system. Contamination from decays with the K^{+}π^{-} system in an S-wave configuration is taken into account. The tension seen between the previous LHCb results and the standard model predictions persists with the new data. The precise value of the significance of this tension depends on the choice of theory nuisance parameters.

Abstract
Here, we applied direct laser-induced periodic surface structuring to drive the phase transition of amorphous silicon (a-Si) into nanocrystalline (nc) Si imprinted as regular arrangement of Si nanopillars passivated with a SiO2 layer. By varying the laser beam scanning speed at a fixed pulse energy, we successfully tailored the resulting unique surface morphology of the formed LIPSSs that change from ordered arrangement of conical protrusions to highly uniform surface gratings, where sub-wavelength scale ripples decorate the valleys between near-wavelength scale ridges. Along with the surface morphology, the nc-Si/SiO2 volume ratio can also be controlled via laser processing parameters allowing the tailoring of the optical properties of the produced textured surfaces to achieve anti-reflection performance or partial transmission in the visible spectral range. Diverse hierarchical LIPSSs can be fabricated and replicated over large-scale areas opening a pathway for various applications including optical sensors, nanoscale temperature management, and solar light harvesting. By taking advantage of good wettability, enlarged surface area and remarkable light-trapping characteristics of the produced hierarchical morphologies, we demonstrated the first LIPSS-based surface enhanced fluorescent sensor that allowed the identification of metal cations providing a sub-nM detection limit unachievable by conventional fluorescence measurements in solutions.

Abstract
Phosphorus (P) is an important nutrient that can restrict plant growth. However, the influence of P deficiency on elemental homeostasis and application of the growth rate hypothesis in higher plants remain to be assessed. Two shrubs, Zygophyllum xanthoxylum and Nitraria tangutorum, were used as experiment material and subjected to five P addition treatments: 0, 17.5, 35.0, 52.5 and 70.0 mg P·kg-1 soil. The biomass and relative growth rate of Z. xanthoxylum did not change with altered P supply. There was no significant difference in P concentration among the treatments for Z. xanthoxylum, but N. tangutorum showed an upward trend. The P stoichiometric homeostasis of Z. xanthoxylum was higher than that of N. tangutorum. For Z. xanthoxylum, available P in the rhizosphere improved significantly under extreme P deficiency conditions, and P concentrations in all treatments were lower than in N. tangutorum, showing that Z. xanthoxylum had stronger P absorption and P utilization capacity. No relationships between growth rate and C:N:P ratios were found in Z. xanthoxylum. The strong P efficiency, and high and stable dry matter accumulation, are likely contributors in maintaining stoichiometric homeostasis. In addition, the relatively high biomass accumulation and high P utilization efficiency for Z. xanthoxylum does not support the growth rate hypothesis for this species.

Abstract
The human hand is a vital component of our interaction with the environment, containing a large number of sensory receptors. The loss of a hand is, therefore, a serious and debilitating injury. Surveys have shown that 98% of users of upper limb prostheses desire to feel the level of force they apply through their prosthetic hands. Developments in tactile sensors have yielded many functional electronic skins. However, their complexity remains a barrier to their use in commercial prosthetic hands. This paper introduces a new design of a simple, flexible pressure sensor using carbon fibre tows as both the sensor and the electrodes. The design results in a dynamic pressure range of 0.35 to 280 kPa in a 25-by-25 mm prototype.

Abstract
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important roles in plant development and stress responses. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation. It is not clear how lncRNA-mediated plant responses to cold stress and how lncRNAs, miRNAs and target mRNAs cooperate subject to the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). We interpreted the function of lncRNAs in the winter wheat cultivar Dongnongdongmai 1 (Dn1). A total of 9970 putative lncRNAs were initially identified from three Dn1 lncRNA libraries (5 °C, -10 °C and -25 °C) using high-throughput sequencing. Among the 14,626 genes detected via weighted gene co-expression network analysis, 7435 lncRNAs were co-expressed with 7191 mRNAs. We found six modules related to cold resistance in the lncRNA-mRNA weighted co-expression network, and the functions of mRNAs were similar in each module. Antioxidant systems and hormones played important roles in low-temperature responses. RNA sequencing analysis revealed that interactions between the 384 lncRNAs and 70 miRNAs were required for ceRNA activity. According to ceRNA activity, 225 lncRNAs, 60 miRNAs and 621 target mRNAs were involved in the regulatory networks of the cold stress response. Notably, a conserved region was found in the complementary regions of lncRNAs and miR164/408 but had reverse expression trends in the ceRNA network. Our results reveal possible roles of lncRNAs-mRNAs in the regulatory networks associated with tolerance to low temperature and provide useful information for more strategic use of genomic resources in wheat breeding.

Multiple populations of skeletal stem cells have been identified in long bone, while their identity and functions in alveolar bone remain unclear. Here, we identified a quiescent leptin receptor–expressing (LepR+) cell population that contributed to intramembranous bone formation. Interestingly, these LepR+ cells became activated in response to tooth extraction and generated the majority of the newly formed bone in extraction sockets. In addition, genetic ablation of LepR+ cells attenuated extraction socket healing. The parabiosis experiments revealed that the LepR+ cells in the healing sockets were derived from resident tissue rather than peripheral blood circulation. Further studies on the mechanism suggested that these LepR+ cells were responsive to parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone 1 receptor (PTH/PTH1R) signaling. Collectively, we demonstrate that LepR+ cells, a postnatal skeletal stem cell population, are essential for alveolar bone regeneration of extraction sockets.

Abstract
This paper represents a first attempt to perform a priori sample size determination from a "historic" Electroencephalography (EEG) dataset. The importance of adequate sample size is firstly highlighted, and evidence is given against the use of normal distribution for such computations, when the data cannot be assumed to be Gaussian. The "historic" dataset is then thoroughly examined to determine the least less likely underlying distribution for the desired phenomenon, in this case the spontaneous blinks potential. Two Monte Carlo simulations, using different distribution assumptions, are subsequently computed to estimate the a priori minimum sample size. Finally, these choices are discussed considering practical limitations, as well as the computational differences for other phenomena to study.

Abstract
The Λ_{c}^{+}K^{-} mass spectrum is studied with a data sample of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment. Three Ξ_{c}^{0} states are observed with a large significance and their masses and natural widths are measured to be m[Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0}]=2923.04±0.25±0.20±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0}]=7.1±0.8±1.8 MeV, m[Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0}]=2938.55±0.21±0.17±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0}]=10.2±0.8±1.1 MeV, m[Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0}]=2964.88±0.26±0.14±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0}]=14.1±0.9±1.3 MeV, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the limited knowledge of the Λ_{c}^{+} mass. The Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0} and Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0} baryons are new states. The Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0} state is in the vicinity of the known Ξ_{c}(2970)^{0} baryon; however, their masses and natural widths differ significantly.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES In December 2019, a novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) emerged in Wuhan city, China, which has subsequently led to a global pandemic. At the time of writing, COVID-19 in Wuhan appears to be in the final phase and under control. However, many other countries, especially the US, Italy and Spain, are still in the early phases and dealing with increasing cases every day. Therefore, this article aims to summarise and share the experience of controlling the spread of COVID-19 in Wuhan and provide effective suggestions to enable other countries to save lives. STUDY DESIGN Data from the National Health Commission of China are used to investigate the evolution trajectory of COVID-19 in Wuhan and discuss the impacts of the intervention strategies. METHODS A four-stage modified Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Removed (SEIR) model is presented. This model considers many influencing factors, including chunyun (the Spring festival), sealing off the city and constructing the Fangcang shelter hospitals. In addition, a novel method is proposed to address the abnormal data on 12-13 February as a result of changing diagnostic criteria. Four different scenarios are considered to capture different intervention measures in practice. The exposed population in Wuhan who moved out before sealing off the city have also been identified, and an analysis on where they had gone was performed using the Baidu Migration Index. RESULTS The results demonstrate that the four-stage model was effective in forecasting the peak, size and duration of COVID-19. We found that the combined intervention measures are the only effective way to control the spread and not a single one of them can be omitted. We estimate that England will be another epicentre owing to its incorrect response at the initial stages of COVID-19. Fortunately, big data technology can help provide early warnings to new areas of the pandemic. CONCLUSIONS The four-stage SEIR model was effective in capturing the evolution trajectory of COVID-19. Based on the model analysis, several effective suggestions are proposed to prevent and control the pandemic for countries that are still in the initial phases.

Abstract
PURPOSE There are many of the representations in iconography of individuals with goiters reported in the literature. METHODS The article describe a unique representation of goiter, as observed by the authors in a sculpture in Italy. RESULTS In a Nativity, in the upper part of the altar of the Church of the Annunciata, Boccioleto (Val Sermenza, Piedmont, Italy), a horn player with a huge goiter, gladdens the Holy Family. Wooden work by Francesco Antonio d'Alberto, 1694. CONCLUSION This is an appropriate example of the iconography of "real goiter," since in this case the sculptor had the aim of showing person with goiter.

Abstract
A search for the decays B_{s}^{0}→e^{+}e^{-} and B^{0}→e^{+}e^{-} is performed using data collected with the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1, 2, and 2 fb^{-1}, respectively. No signal is observed. Assuming no contribution from B^{0}→e^{+}e^{-} decays, an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B_{s}^{0}→e^{+}e^{-})<9.4(11.2)×10^{-9} is obtained at 90(95)% confidence level. If no B_{s}^{0}→e^{+}e^{-} contribution is assumed, a limit of B(B^{0}→e^{+}e^{-})<2.5(3.0)×10^{-9} is determined at 90(95)% confidence level. These upper limits are more than one order of magnitude lower than the previous values.

Abstract
PURPOSE Patients presenting with lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) had an absolute decrease in survival. In our present study, the potential roles of LVSI on tumor characteristics was explored to predict the difference in the prognosis of ER and HER2 positive T1 tumors. METHODS A total of 142 breast cancer patients diagnosed with ER+ and HER2+ tumors whose tumor size was ≤ 2 cm were included in this analysis. One hundred forty-two patients were divided into four groups, group 1 (lymph nodes+ and LVSI+), group 2 (lymph nodes+ and LVSI-), group 3 (lymph nodes- and LVSI+), group 4 (lymph nodes- and LVSI-). Univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were used to identify independent prognostic factors and calculate the HR and 95% CI. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression models were used to test the prognostic significance. RESULTS LVSI positivity was significantly associated with patient age, menopausal status, tumor size, lymph node status, Ki67, PR, and tumor grade. In the univariate and multivariate model, LVSI, PR, and Ki67 were significantly associated with DFS, and LVSI, lymph node status, PR, and Ki67 were significantly associated with OS. LVSI was significantly related to increased risk of DFS and OS only in the PR-negative and low-positive subgroups. It was a prognostic factor for DFS but not for OS in women with low Ki67 and was associated with DFS and OS in high-Ki67 tumors. Furthermore, patients who presented with only LVSI had a significantly worse survival rate than those with lymph node metastasis without LVSI in small tumors. CONCLUSION The presence of LVSI was highlighted as a variable significant to survival. In further clinical practice, patients with LVSI may need more intensive treatment in certain populations.

Abstract
Objective: To describe the epidemiological characteristics of a cluster of COVID-19 cases reported in Baodi district of Tianjin as of 18 February, 2020, which might be associated with the exposure in a local department store, and provide suggestions for prevention and control strategy development. Methods: The basic characteristics, time and area distributions, clinical manifestations, epidemiological history and transmission mode of the COVID-19 cases associated with the department store exposure were analyzed. Results: A total of 40 COVID-19 cases were associated with the department store exposure, accounting for 75.47% of the total confirmed cases (53 cases) reported in Baodi district. The cases were mainly at the age of 60 years or older (35.00%) and farmers (40.00%). The main clinical manifestations included fever (95.00%), cough (35.00%), and diarrhea (15.00%). The proportion of confirmed severe cases was 32.50%. The incidence curve showed that the incidence peak occurred on 31 January, 2020. Among the 40 cases, 6(15.00%) were department store employees, 19 (47.50%) were customers and 15 (37.50%) were close contacts (secondary cases). The first case occurred on 21 January, 2020, this case was a department store employee who had a purchasing history at whole sale markets in other provinces and cities before the onset, and 3 employees were still on duty after symptom onsets. The median of the incubation period of customer cases was 6 days, and the median of the interval between onset and medical treatment of customer cases was 7 days. Conclusion: This was a cluster epidemic of COVID-19, which might be associated with the exposure in the department store. By now, the current prevention and control measures have achieved satisfied effects.

Abstract
We report on the first measurement of the charmed baryon Λ_{c}^{±} production at midrapidity (|y|<1) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV collected by the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The Λ_{c}/D^{0} [denoting (Λ_{c}^{+}+Λ_{c}^{-})/(D^{0}+D[over ¯]^{0})] yield ratio is measured to be 1.08±0.16 (stat)±0.26 (sys) in the 0%-20% most central Au+Au collisions for the transverse momentum (p_{T}) range 3<p_{T}<6 GeV/c. This is significantly larger than the pythia model calculations for p+p collisions. The measured Λ_{c}/D^{0} ratio, as a function of p_{T} and collision centrality, is comparable to the baryon-to-meson ratios for light and strange hadrons in Au+Au collisions. Model calculations including coalescence hadronization for charmed baryon and meson formation reproduce the features of our measured Λ_{c}/D^{0} ratio.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the role of the number of lymph nodes examined(NLNE) on the prognosis of patients with curatively resected gallbladder carcinoma(GBC). Methods: The clinicopathological data and prognosis of 401 patients with GBC who underwent radical surgery from six institutions of China from January 2013 to December 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. There were 153 males(38.2%) and 248 females(61.8%), with age of (62.0±10.5) years (range: 30-88 years). Fifty-three patients(22.2%) were accompanied by jaundice. All patients underwent radical resection+regional lymphadenectomy.R0 or R1 resection was confirmed by postoperative pathological examination.The different cut-off values of NLNE were determined by the X-tile software, the optimal cut-off values were identified by analyzing the relationship between different cut-off values of NLNE with survival rate. Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis. Univariate and multivariate analysis were implemented respectively using the Log-rank test and Cox proportional hazard model. Results: Among the 401 patients enrolled, 135 cases (33.6%) had lymphatic metastasis, of which 98 cases were in N1 stage(24.4%) and 37 cases were in N2 stage(9.2%).A total of 2 794 NLNE were retrieved, with a median count of 6 (5).The median positive lymph nodes count was 0 (1), and the median positive lymph nodes ratio was 0 (IQR, 0-0.2). Since the 12 and 15 were determined as the cut-off values by X-tile, all patients were divided into three groups of 1-11, 12-15 and ≥16.The 3-year survival rate of the three groups was 45.2%, 74.5%, 12.0% respectively, with statistically significant difference between three groups (χ(2)=10.94, P<0.01). The results of multivariate analysis showed that NLNE was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (P<0.05). Further analysis was performed specifically for subgroup of T stages. For T1b patients, the prognosis of the NLNE with 1-7 group was significantly better than that of the ≥8 group(χ(2)=4.610, P<0.05). For T2 patients, the prognosis of the TLNE ≥7 group was significantly better than that of 1 -6 group (χ(2)=4.287, P<0.05). For T3 and T4 patients, the prognosis of the TLNE with 12 - 15 group was significantly better than that of 1 -11 group (χ(2)=5.007, P<0.01) and ≥16 group (χ(2)=10.158, P<0.01). Conclusions: The NLNE is an independent factor affecting the prognosis of patients with GBC.For patients with stage T1b,8 lymph nodes should be retrieved; for patients with stage T2,extensive dissection of more than 6 lymph nodes can significantly improve the prognosis.For advanced patients (stages T3 and T4), extensive dissection with 12-15 lymph nodes is recommended. However, it fails to get more survival benefits by dissecting more than 16 lymph nodes.
